A bottle of baby food flew through the air in orbs and smashed into the wall.
"Matthew!" I frowned, "Baaaad baby!" I said, grabbing a towel and wiping the wall.
"What's going on?" Chris asked, walking into the kitchen.
I sighed, "Magical baby...You look chipper." I said.
"I have a girlfriend, a club that's doing major business, and my nephew is sleeping through the night." Chris smiled.
"Good for you." I smiled, walking back to Matthew, who orbed out of his high chair, "What in the..."
Just then, Wyatt walked in with him, "Did someone lose a baby?" he asked.
"How many times have I told you not to orb?" I said to Matthew.
"That's my boy." Wyatt said, "Hi Chris."
"Hey." Chris frowned, looking out the window.
"What's he looking at?" Wyatt asked.
"Our neighbors, he thinks they're stealing the paper." I explained.
"They are!" Chris said, "But I don't even care because I have a breakfast date with Bianca."
"Breakfast date?" I asked.
"Shush." Chris said, walking over and kissing Matthew and I on the forehead, "I'll be back later." He said, leaving.
Wyatt sighed, making coffee, "How long is he going to be mad?" he asked.
"I don't know." I said quickly.
"How long are you going to be mad?" Wyatt asked.
I shrugged, "It's not easy, Wyatt." I said.
"I know." Wyatt said, "Are you still moving out?"
"Yeah. I mean, the Manor's getting a little cramped." I said, "Matthew and I need to find a place where we can spread out."
"You and Matthew..."
"Wyatt, I'm not sure I want you to go." I said, "I want you to be in Matthew's life."
"What about your life?" Wyatt asked.
"Hey guys." Piper said, coming in with Leo.
"Hey, where you guys been?" I asked.
"We watched the sun come up." Leo smiled.
"That's so sweet." I said, mystified.
Piper looked at the wall, "What's all over the wall?" she asked.
"Baby food." I said, "Matthew's using magic...a lot."
"Uh oh." Piper said, "You're not thinking about binding his powers are you? Cause I..."
"You don't agree...I know, and I'm not thinking that." I said, "I just don't know what to do."
"I think he's just testing his powers." Leo said.
"So, do they know?" Wyatt asked.
"Know what?" Piper asked.
"That him and Matthew are moving out." Wyatt said.
"They're huh?" Piper asked, "You're...but you...no."
"No?" I asked.
"No!" Piper said, "You have to stay because...just because!"
"Piper, this house can't take more people." I sighed.
Piper looked around, "You and Wyatt could share a room." She said, not thinking, "Sorry, that was..."
"It's okay." Wyatt said.
"You and the baby can have the bigger room." Piper said.
"No, this is your house." I said, "I'm just visiting."
"That's not true." Leo said.
"Look, I already found a loft that's big enough for me and the baby and I can pay for it." I said, noticing the hurt in Piper's eyes, "Piper, we're only an orb away."
"Yeah, I know." Piper said, "I just...I need some time."
"We're moving out in a day, Piper." I said quickly.
Leo frowned, "Why so soon?" he asked.
"I think we all know why." Wyatt said.
We looked at him.
"It's me." Wyatt said.
"Wyatt..." I said.
"No." Wyatt said, walking out of the room. I walked out after him.
Piper grabbed Matthew as I left, "Leo, we can't just let them leave." She said quickly.
"Sweetie, there's nothing we can do." Leo said, "He's made up his mind."
"But...but...what about Matthew? When will we ever get to see him again?" she asked, kissing his forehead.
"He's just an orb away, plus, I'm sure he'll be here a lot." Leo said.
"Why?" Piper asked.
"Are you kidding? These kids are drawn to this house like a bug zapper." Leo smiled, kissing his wife.
Upstairs...
"You're not being fair!" I said.
"Fair? You're taking my son and moving away." Wyatt said.
I walked over to the middle of the attic, "You're always welcomed in the loft." I said, "I'm not taking him anywhere you can't come." I frowned.
Wyatt nodded, "So, this is it, I leave you, you leave me and neither one of us gets what we really want." He said.
"What I wanted got destroyed!" I said, "I wanted you to be there for me no matter what."
"I am."
"You weren't." I said.
"I left, I made a mistake. It's not like you've stayed here through the rough patches! I remember that you ran away." Wyatt said.
"I didn't have a family with you." I said, "I was a kid."
"I love you and that's all I know." Wyatt said.
"I love you too, but if we're ever going to have what we had...it's going to have to be slow." I said, "It's not just us we have to worry about now, we have a son."
Wyatt nodded.
Before either one of us could break the silence, Warren shimmered in, "Help me." He said quickly.
Before he could tell us what was going on, three weird-looking women materialized in a fog of smoke! I raised my to blow the ladies up, but was knocked down. From my back, I saw Wyatt throwing two of the three girls around with his telekinesis! I looked over to see Warren on his back with the woman over him, screeching! I raised my hand again, this time steadying it on her and she blew to pieces!
"Hey, I forgot my..." Chris said, catching everyone's attention. The ladies took this time to disappear and reappear behind Chris! He turned and got a face full of smoke before the two women disappeared, "What in the Hell!"
-
"Furies?" Chris asked, "So, I'm going to turn into a fury?"
"I don't know." Piper said, "You should have turned by now. Don't worry, we've seen you as worse."
"Spider-demon." Leo said quickly.
"So, the furies are after me because of the people I killed?" Warren asked.
"I'm surprised you don't know more than we do." Piper said.
"I wasn't as into the demon thing as dad was." Warren said.
"I blew one of them up." I said.
"So, your powers work on them, good." Piper said.
"What do we do now?" Chris asked.
"I have to go to work." I said sadly.
"He'll be okay." Piper smiled warmly.
"It's the first time I've left him." I said.
"I raised three kids, so I think I can handle one." Piper smiled.
I nodded, "But you'll call me if...if..." I said.
"Nothing's going to happen." Piper said.
I walked over and kissed his forehead, "I love you, little guy." I said, giving him to Piper, "I hate this."
"He'll be okay." Wyatt said, "I promise."
"If he isn't, it's your ass." I said seriously, leaving.
"Somehow, I don't think he's joking." Chris said coughing, "So, what do we do about me?"
"What about you? You seem fine." Leo said.
"I agree with Leo," Piper said, adjusting the baby, "You're not showing any signs of being a fury, except the cough."
"How are we supposed to stop them?" Warren asked.
"I don't know that we can." Piper said, "They chase evil."
"Piper, I'm not evil." Warren groaned.
"Oh, I know, but they don't know that." Piper said, "Your dad..."
"I'm not him." Warren frowned.
"Your dad had the same problem." Leo said.
"So, we can't just track them down and vanquish them?" Warren asked.
"No, they're neutral." Leo explained, "They are neither good nor bad."
"We need to figure this out." Chris said, "I have the Plain White T's playing tonight."
"Well, let's call Kyle and see what he has to say." Wyatt said.
-
I sat in my office, in front of my computer, trying not to think about my infant or my husband. I cannot believe Wyatt's back, he's...my soul mate. He's the Leo to my Piper. The Bleaker to my Juno. As I typed absentmindedly at the computer, I was brought back to reality when I realized I had no idea what I was responding to. I reread the letter. It was a guy whose girlfriend left him for a job, lost the job and came back. How ironic. What was I supposed to tell him?
"Knock, knock..." Phoebe said, standing at the door.
I looked up to her, "Hey." I said.
"Are you still mad?" Phoebe asked.
"No." I said, "Disappointed? Yeah."
"I'm sorry, it was just a...thing." Phoebe said, "Did I say I'm sorry?"
"Yes." I said.
"I am." Phoebe said, sitting on the sofa in my room.
"It's okay." I smiled.
"So, your first day back. How is it?" Phoebe asked.
"Tough. I got a lot of things going on." I said.
"I remember when I came back after my first child." Phoebe smirked, "I couldn't wait to get back. You could have worked from home."
"Then I wouldn't get any work done." I said quickly.
"Uh oh." Phoebe said, "What's going on?"
"My husband's back, Warren is getting chased by furies..."
"Wait, he's what?" Phoebe interjected.
"...and I'm moving out." I said.
"Wait, go back to Warren." Phoebe said, leaning in.
"Oh, it's just that the furies are after him. Were, rather, but he's good." I said.
"And you're moving out? Have you told Piper?" Phoebe asked.
"Yes."
"And she didn't blow you up?" Phoebe asked.
"No." I chuckled, "But she's nowhere near cool with it."
"Where are you moving?" Phoebe asked.
"Some pretty nice lofts downtown." I said.
"Oh, anywhere near us?" Phoebe asked.
"A few blocks. It's all very exciting." I said.
"So, Wyatt's not going?" Phoebe asked.
"I don't think he should." I said, "I mean...I'm not ready."
"Maybe you should move in together, but not together." Phoebe said.
"Huh?" I asked.
"Not as a couple, just as the parents of Matthew." Phoebe said, "It's important to Wyatt that he be there."
"Did he put you up to this?" I asked.
"No, I just know my nephew." Phoebe smiled, "And if you two just so happen to...get together, you can send me a gift basket."
I chuckled, "Pheebs, you should go so I can do work." I said.
"Well, I'm going to the Manor to see if they need my help," Phoebe said, standing, "Have you seen Paige today?"
"No, why?" I asked.
"She's got this new charge and he's giving her trouble." Phoebe said.
"A charge is giving Paige trouble? Wow, she's like the ultimo-whitelighter." I said.
"I know, but she likes a challenge." Phoebe smiled, "See ya." She said, leaving.
I looked down at the loft listings, there was one for a three bedroom apartment. I wondered to myself if Phoebe wasn't right, that maybe Wyatt should move in with us. I sighed, still thinking.
-
Warren screamed in agony as smoke filled his body through his mouth! Chris had gone fast and Fury-ious in such a short time that it almost seemed unreal. Chris had been coughing, yes, but it was so sudden, so calculated. He had to be turning before that, just subtle enough that not even he was aware of it. Wyatt had tried to restrain Chris, but had gotten knocked out in the shuffle between the remaining Halliwells and Chris. Leo had gone with the baby when it all started. Piper was trying to freeze Chris, but it wasn't doing much good. Warren was in pure agony when Phoebe came in. She immediately ran to Chris, grabbing his arm and twisting it. Chris pushed her back and threw a fist, but Phoebe dodged his attack and grabbed his arm, throwing him to the ground!
"Chris, what are you doing?" Phoebe asked.
"He's a fury." Piper said, getting to her feet.
"Oh." Phoebe said quickly.
Chris disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"I knew that was going to happen!" Piper said, "Dammit!"
-
"And he just disappeared?" I asked, flipping through the book.
"Yes." Piper said, "He's gone to find the other furies."
"Aren't Furies, ya know, women?" I asked.
"They are, as far as history goes." Phoebe said, "But he must have had a portal of unexpressed anger."
Wyatt shifted uncomfortably.
"He has to express that anger." Phoebe said, "It's the only way to save him."
"This is Chris, Phoebe." Paige said, "He's Piper junior."
"Hey!" Piper said.
"But there's something more." I said, "The furies seem to be concentrating on Warren, specifically."
"Why?" Paige asked, "I mean, he's just..."
"The son of a source?" Piper said.
"Watch it." Phoebe said.
"She's right." I said, "This is very political."
"So, what, there's a new Source in the Underworld?" Paige asked.
"Actually, that makes sense, except the use of Furies, they're neutral." Warren said.
"Not if they were under his employ or..." Kyle looked at the window, "What if they're working for him now?"
"Can that happen?" Piper asked.
"The Elders have heard rumblings of...well, just this sort of things." Kyle said, "They're recruiting magical creatures."
"And you waited until know to tell us that?" Leo asked.
"They were rumblings." Kyle said.
"The magical creatures are taking sides?" I said casting a glance at the sisters, who looked shocked, "Somebody's building an army."
"One problem at a time, guys." Wyatt said.
"Chris." Piper said, "Maybe we could...call a lost witch."
"I think we should go one better, to call a lost Brother." Wyatt said.
"I think we should use bait." Paige said, casting a glance at Warren.
"What is it with you and using the guys in my life as bait?" Phoebe said, walking to Warren, "No."
"That's genius, Paige." Warren said quickly.
-
Wyatt stood at the cauldron, mixing ingredients. I stared at him, wondering what was going to happen with us. The flesh and heart were telling me to go for it, let him back in, but my brain remembered all the times he hurt me. I...
"If you're going to stare, you can at least not make it obvious." Wyatt said, smiling.
I didn't say anything; I got off the couch and walked to the cauldron, "Is it almost done?" I asked.
"So we're going to ignore you staring at my ass?" Wyatt smirked.
"Stop." I said quickly.
Wyatt sighed, throwing wolfsbane into the cauldron, "Look, I messed up. But there wasn't one second I didn't think about you or Matthew." He said.
"Wyatt, I've been trying to get up the nerve to ask you, willyoumovewithmeandMatthew." I said in a flash.
Wyatt stopped mid-sprinkle, "What are you asking?" he smiled.
"Will you move with Matthew and I?" I asked.
"Wha-wha-what brought this change?" Wyatt asked, trying to grasp what he had just heard.
"It means a lot that you be close to Matthew." I said, "We'd have our own rooms, but..."
"You didn't even have to ask." Wyatt smiled, wanting to hug me. He didn't.
"Cool." I smiled.
"Is everybody ready?" Warren asked, walking in.
"I'm still not sure about this." Phoebe said, trailing behind her.
"Phoebe, we've been through this." Piper said, "He has to, it's the only to save Chris."
Phoebe frowned, "Fine." She said.
"I'll be okay, mom." Warren said, putting his hand on her shoulder.
"You ready?" I asked.
Everyone nodded. Phoebe, Piper, Paige, and Leo left the room.
I took Wyatt's hand, "Grab his hand and say this with me." I said.
Wyatt took Warren's hand and we began the chant, "Power of the witches rise, course unseen across the sky, come to us who call you near, come to us and settle here." We said. Then Wyatt poked his finger with an athame and spilled it into the potion, "Blood to blood, we summon thee, blood to blood, return to thee."
"Nothing?" Wyatt asked.
"I guess n..." I began but Warren began to scream, "Here they come."
Before I could warn Wyatt, a Fury materialized in smoke behind Wyatt, backhanding him into an old armoire! I looked over to see another Fury and Chris by Warren, who was on the floor! I lifted my hand to blow the Fury up, but the fury that backhanded Wyatt grabbed me and I turned, elbowing her in the nose! I turned back to Warren and blasted the Fury, causing her to blow into pieces.
"You're mad at me because I'm leaving you, again." I said.
Chris looked up at me and started toward me. He punched me in the face, sending me skidding across the floor!
Wyatt had now gotten to his feet, "Chris." He said.
Chris stopped and looked at him angrily.
"We all know I'm the one you want!" Wyatt said quickly.
I watched from the floor as Chris grabbed Wyatt, who promptly orbed them out of the Manor.
"What happened?" Piper asked, walking in.
The Fury smoked out before we could anything else.
I sighed to myself and laid back on the floor.
On the Golden Gate Bridge...
Chris and Wyatt had orbed there and were now staring at each other! Neither had said a word. Chris fumed and Wyatt could feel it. Chris threw his hand up, causing Wyatt to fly back and hover just off the bridge! Wyatt hovered high above the bridge, watching for Chris' next move. Chris put his hand over his head, causing Wyatt to fly over and land on the bridge. Wyatt stood to be punched by Chris!
"You bastard!" Chris spat, "You made us think you were dead and now you think you can just come back and it'll all be okay?!" he hit Wyatt again.
"I'm sorry." Wyatt panted.
Chris stopped, "That's it isn't it? You smile and say you're sorry and everybody forgives you?" he said, sitting beside Wyatt, "That's how it always is."
"Chris," Wyatt said, "I'm sorry."
Chris nodded, "I know but it doesn't make what you or the Elders did okay." He said.
"I know." Wyatt said, sitting up.
"You don't deserve him." Chris said quickly, "You hurt him again and I will seriously murder you."
"If I hurt him again, I'll kill myself." Wyatt said.
"Good." Chris said.
