Chapter 33: The New Halliwell

I stood in Wyatt's room. I held his shirt, clutching it to my chest and I saw something drop onto it. For a minute, I could feel him, but it went away so fast and I realized that the spot was a tear. I was crying. I couldn't tell these days, it was like a very unreal feeling to lose him. I had stayed up, scrying for him and everytime it came to a standstill. Chris was even more quiet these days and Bianca had taken care of him, Piper and Leo tok it worse than anyone. Piper hadn't stopped crying and she was blowing things up and baking. Leo worked outside, in the garage. That's where I found him, under the rusty, old truck.

"Hey." I said slowly.

I heard the wrench drop and Leo slid from under the truck, " Pahras. What're you doing out here?" he asked.

"I just...I was going through Wyatt's stuff and I found..." I choked, " I found this," I said, flashing a cross necklace that he had given Wyatt.

"He never took that off." Leo said.

"He, ummm...we didn't want to break it." I said quietly, " And I guess he lost it."

"Pahras..." Leo said.

"Why us, Leo? Why do we have to protect the world?" I asked.

Leo shook his head.

"You know the Elders, right?" I asked, " Leo, call them, ask them to bring him back. I DON'T CARE, I'll do anything...just bring him back!" I shouted, " LEO BRING HIM BACK!"

Leo hugged me, " I wish I could." he said.

"Leo, I'm so sorry. It should have been me." I sobbed.

"No. It should have been Talik." Leo said angrily, " And it will be soon."

I stepped back, " Leo, what do you mean?" I asked, " Leo?" I asked, but he wasn't there. I turned to see something fly at me and I was sent flying backwards!

I sat straight up and Wyat darted up with me, looking around to see what was up. His hair was disshelved and he looked like he had been enjoying his dream. I hugged him before he could say anything, a tear falling from my eyes.

"Bad dream?" he asked, trying to break my grip.

"That wasn't a dream." I panted, " It was a preminition."

"What happened?" Wyatt asked.

I didn't say anything. I just looked at him wide-eyed, " Umm...it's not that important." I said quietly.

"But it was important enough to wake you up." Wyatt pressed.

"Wyatt..." I said softly.

"I was dead, wasn't I?" Wyatt asked.

I stood up and went to the closet, pulling out the shirt from my vision, " I...it just seriously wigged me out." I frowned.

"Baby, are you okay?" he asked, " Ever since the other day, you've been squeamish."

"Chips." I blurted.

"Chips?" Wyatt asked.

I walked to the door, " Or maybe cookies. Maybe I can catch a re-run of Desperate Housewives." I said, leaving the room.

Wyatt plopped back onto his bed, " Wyat to go Wyatt, nice talk." he said to himself.

As I reached the kitchen, I noticed that Chris was coming in from his jog and he must have made coffee before he left. So I fixed us some coffee while he leaned against the counter.

I turned to see Chris smiling at me, " What?" I asked.

"Aren't you quite the House-husband." Chris chuckled.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, handing him the coffee.

"Nothing." he smirked, sipping his coffee. I still stared at him, " I just mean, Wyatt must be doing something right if he can get you, King of Career before everything else, to do housework. I remember when we were younger, you said you'd never do any housework."

I scoffed, " Well, not everyone else can be a single, self-employed party boy." I said carefully.

"And that means..." Chris asked.

"Lately all you've been doing is partying and I've been meaning to ask what's be happening between you and Bianca?" I asked.

"Well, we're on-again-off-again." Chris sighed, " Not that it's your business, little brother-in-law."

"Well, I've never." I joked.

"I seem to remember you...." Chris said.

"Chris!" I said, shocked, " What is going on?"

"I've just been thinking about things lately." Chris said.

"Things?" I asked.

Chris smiled and stood up, " Yeah, things." he said, leaving.

I sighed and closed my eyes. I opened them when I felt someone's lips against mine, " Wyatt." I smirked, " What are you doing?" I asked.

Wyatt chuckled and grabbed a cup of coffee, " Sure you don't want to rethink this whole husband thing, you're getting pretty good at it."

"Why is everyone so surprised?" I asked

"Everyone?" Wyatt asked.

"Oh, Chris. He left." I said.

"I know, we talked as I was coming down the stairs." Wyatt said, noticing my nervousness at Chris' name, " Are you okay?"

"I'm okay, just a little jumpy." I said, " So, what's up first?" I asked.

Wyatt kissed me passionately, sending tingles through my whole body, " Ummm, I'm working today." I looked at him angrily, " They've got me on call, some of the patients at the hospital are dying from exhaustion."

"Exhaustion?" I asked.

"Yeah, and the strange thing is that they were getting better." Wyatt shrugged, " I'm staring to think that it's more demonic."

"You too?" I asked, " Maybe I should come by an..."

"No. If there is some demon, I want to know more about it before I bring you guys in." Wyatt smiled.

I looked at him angrily, " Wyatt..."

"Besides, don't you have to go to work?" Wyatt asked. The phone rang, " I'll get it." he said, walking over to the phone.

I frowned and was about to say something when Paige orbed in.

"Hey, kiddo." Paige smiled.

"Hey," I smiled, " What're you up to?"

"I just wanted to come and see my nephews." Paige said, looking around, " Where are the others?"

"Wyat's in the living room and Chris is pretty much wherever he wants to be." I sighed.

"What's that mean?" she asked.

"We vanquished a demon that almost killed Chris and now he's pretty much living each day like herpes doesn't exist." I shrugged, pulling out a bag of cookies.

"Oh, right." Paige said, " So, this demon..."

"Gone." I said, " But that's not what's really scary. The thing is, I had a preminition that Wyatt died."

Paige looked at me in shock, " You mean you saw him die?" she asked.

"No. This was different. This was after, I mean way after...I'm talking after the funeral. Leo and I...well we died too." I explained.

Wyatt walked back in, phone still up to his ear, " Henry said that him and the squad are at the hospital, there are two new bodies there." he frowned.

"Are you sure..." I asked.

He shook his head, " No, I don't want you anywhere near it." he noticed Paige and hugged her, " Hey Aunt Paige, what's up?"

"Nothing, just came by to see what's up with you guys, but I can see you're busy." she said.

Phoebe rushed through the door, " I need your help." she said.

I sighed, " Wyatt, go to work, me and Chris'll handle this." I said, kissing him, then turning toe Phoebe, " Just let me get Chris."

Wyatt nodded, orbing out.

Phoebe explained her dream to me and that she had been having it over and over, but she knew there was more. She just needed to know what happened to the baby and she needed my help.

"So why do I need to be here?" Chris asked.

"You can go if you want to." Phobe said, stunned.

"No." I turned to Chris, " Stop it. Look, we're vulnerable while we're doing this."

"So, you want me to protect you?" Chris smirked.

"What?" I asked defensively.

"Just say it." Chris chuckled, pretending he was about to orb away.

"URGH! Okay, Chris, I need you to protect me while I'm vulnerable." I frowned.

"I wish I could have that on tape." Chris said, turning to Paige, " But you heard that, right?"

"Can we get on with this." I frowned.

"Sure." Chris smiled.

Paige and Phoebe just looked between us.

"Nothing." We said in unison.

The place had been set up, the candles in a circle, and there were two circles with Phoebe in one, me in the other. Paige and chris had lit a candle and were about to light the other ones when they stopped.

"Maybe I should do this with a more experience seer." Phoebe said nervously, " This is a pretty powerful piece of..."

The wind blew and there was a glow, then I threw my head back, " SILENCE!" a deep, baritone voice said from within me, " I call upon the ancient powers, in this time and in this hour, bring to me the future of the past, do it now, it's what I asked!" I shouted and suddenly the room was illuminated!

Wyatt studied the scene, careful not to mess with any of the evidence that might help him put together what happened. There wasn't much that he could see.

"So, is there anything magical?" Henry chuckled.

"Well, I work here and this is the first time I've seen something like this." Wyatt said, mortified.

"I think we need to find whatever's doing this." Henry said, " We need the BOS." he said, watching other officers pass.

"Right." Wyatt said, as they hid and orbed away.

"You don't have a name, do you?" Cole asked, playing with the child's finger, " I don't know what to name you...Warren. Phoebe would like that. Melinda Warren was your...well, let's say grandma. You need a middle name, ummm, something out of the ordinary....Tamos...Takim...Talik..." Cole mused.

The baby cooed.

"You like Talik?" cole smiled down at the baby. Then the scene changed to a few years later, Talik was still a child when Cole died. Talik was in school, raised by some demon named Drake. Drake? Phoebe seemed to feel something for the demon. It was all very fast, but I immediately knew things. It was like learning times three hundred. Suddenly it stopped.

"I love you." Talik said.

"I love you, to." my voice said.

I concentrated on that voice, that person I was. I knew Phoebe felt it too. I hesitated for a minute, then my heart dropped as the time sped up to the point where he stood in front of me. I knew it was the future...not only the future, but now. he wore a black cloak and his hair was long and dissholved. His eyes had grown into bright green...

Paige sat at the table and Chris stood by the book, sighing as he flipped the pages.

"Chris, is there something you need to be doing?" Paige asked.

"No." he said, " I'm just wondering what's taking so long."

"So, Drake said you've been..." Paige started.

"Ha. I'm surprised he even knows what I've been doing." Chris said quickly.

Paige looked at him oddly, " Chris you've never lied to me, so, just be honest." she said.

"I am being honest. I'm just worried about Drake, they've been out for about an hour. I just..." Chris looked at Paige.

Paige stood, " Chris, do you love Drake?" she asked, stunned.

Before he could answer, there was a flicker of lights and both of them turned to see Talik. Before Talik could move, Chris sent a lamp flying at him and Talik levitated into the air. Paige froze at this, allowing Talik to hit them both with a burst of energy! As we heard the thuds, Phobe and I opened our eyes to see Paige and Chris laying on the floor. I got up to run from them but before I could get to them, Talik shimmered in front of me. I was shocked at first, then he caressed my face with one finger and I touched his hand.

"Talik?" I asked quietly, " Warren?"

At his name, his gaze changed. Not to anger, but softened even more.

"Did you attack them?" I asked.

"No." he said, his voice deeper than it had been.

I looked back to see Phoebe still staring. I could read her mind. This was her baby, the one she never knew. Her first.

"Warren..." Phoebe said tearfully, causing him to gaze at her.

From nowhere, Talik flew through the air and landed on the other side of the room. Wyatt ran to me, kissing me, " Are you okay?" he asked.

"Wyatt!" I shouted.

Wyatt looked past me, " Aunt Phoebe! Get away!" he shouted as she knelt beside him.

"You don't understand." Phoebe said frantically.

"What?" Wyatt said with confusion.

"He's Phoebe's son." I said gently, causing Wyatt and everyone else to gasp.
