Chapter 24: Changes pt.2
Downstairs, Wyatt and Melinda were coming in through the door when they saw me orb from mid-air onto the sofa. I sat up, looking at them.
"What was that?" Wyatt asked.
"That was... I don't know!" I said, getting up.
"You can't orb." Wyatt said.
"Ya think?!" I snapped, " Ok, there was a demon, but he's vanquished, then another one...he must have done something. Try to orb."
Wyat stood still, " I can't." he said, then he waved his hand at a lamp and it blew up, " Oh shi..."
"Yeah. I know." I said frantically as Chris orbed down beside me, " Chris, I think we've switched powers."
"I noticed." he said looking from me to Wyatt, " Lemme guess, you have his powers?" he asked.
"Yeah, I think so..." Wyatt said, freezing up, " Uh oh."
"Preminition?" I asked, " What'd you see?"
"Us. Really screwed." Wyatt said, walking past us.
"Where are you going?" I asked, following him. Chris and Melinda followed too.
"To find this demon." Wyat said, climbing the stairs.
"You have no idea what he looks like." I said.
"I just saw him in the vision." Wyatt said, continuing to the book.
I nodded, " Yeah, forgot..." I said, feeling kind of dumb.
"Don't." Chris said.
"What?" I asked, turning to him.
"Feel dumb. It's really creepy to have each other's powers." Chris smiled.
I smiled back and turned to walk with Wyatt, " So, where do we start?" I asked.
"Book." Melinda said.
I scoffed, " After the book? Scrying or potion?" I asked.
"Either way, we need to reverse this." Melinda said.
"Why?" Chris and Wyatt said in unison.
Melinda and I looked at each other, then at them, " Because we're not meant to have these powers." I said quickly.
"Really? It's working so far." Wyatt smirked.
I didn't say anything.
"Ok, maybe we could just...you know, try this for a while." Wyatt said slowly.
"What? No!" I said.
"Think about it." Chris said, " Just to be something different."
"Look, I'm not sure you get this. I have an interview...and as much as I loved learning to control my powers the first time, I'm not doing it again." I frowned, " Now look, either we reverse this or I orb both of your balls to a volcano somewhere over the rainbow...got it?" I said nervously.
Wyatt and Chris looked at each other.
I raised my hand, " Wyatt and Chris' ba..." but before I could get the rest out, Wyatt and Chris threw up their hands.
"No! No..ok, we'll do it." Wyatt said, blowing up a window behind us.
"Now do you see my point?" I asked.
"I've got to go. There's this thing..." I said walking from the room.
"You boys better get working." Melinda smirked.
"You're not gonna help?" Chris asked.
Melinda chuckled, " Me? No...I was on my way to my date when I left the first time. I finally got him to reschedule for later tonight, now I'm going to get ready." she said, leaving.
"I guess I'm making the potion." Chris sighed.
"I can make the potion, just go." Wyatt smiled.
"You sure?" Chris asked.
Wyatt nodded and Chris orbed out.
As I walked into the Bay Mirror, I was greeted y a cute delivery man walking out. As I walked on, I saw a bunch of white roses sitting on my desk. I looked around and noticed that everyone was staring and I went into my office and shut my door. As I walked over and sat down, my phone vibrated and I looked down to see that I recieved a message.
"Oh...that's just dirty." I said, reading the text message. It was from Tristan. Then I looked around and noticed that this all had to be from him.
"What's dirty?" someone said behind me.
I turned to see someone I thought I had left in New York. Spencer Sunderland, richboy reporter.
I chuckled lightly, " Spencer, through I lost you in New York." I said.
"Funny thing when a celebrity disappears from one place and magically appears in another place." he said looking around, " Got tired of living in the O.C.? Of being a Gossip Guy? I think not." he smirked.
"You are not as dumb as you look." I smiled.
"And you're not as normal as you pretend." Spencer smiled, walking closer, " I mean, funny, yeah. Great in bed, hell yeah, but norma...not even close."
"What 'celebrity' is normal?" I asked, " And I'm not a celebrity."
"Oh, come on." Spencer said loudly, " Last I heard, you were dating some lawyer, come here to get married?"
I lost my smile.
"What's wrong? Did I hit a nerve?" he asked as he looked around, " Someone did something naughty, huh."
I looked down and back at him, " What is it? What is your issue? Paris not around?" I asked.
"Nah, her and Lindsey are old news, I'm more worried about you." Spencer smiled.
"Worried? About me? Don't tell me you've gone soft." I smirked.
"What're you, saving puppies or something?" he asked, " I found the unfindable Pahras Summers. I could have a squad of reports on your ass, but I think I want this interview."
"What?" I asked.
"Haven't you read? Everyone thinks you were kidnapped until I got ahold of your work in the Bay Mirror. When I called, your boss, Phoebe, said that you were sending it in by e-mail, but who actually does that? No one, that's who." Spencer smiled.
"And that brought you here?" I asked.
"Of course. You of all people should know that I'm no idiot." Spencer said.
I shrugged, " Verdict's out." I said.
"I know you, right now, you're asking yourself what you can do to get me to leave." Spencer said.
"And the answer is?" I asked.
"Interview." he said, writing something down and handing it to me, " Here's my number. I see you're staying at Prescott? Big Manor, is that yours?" he asked.
"Still all about the story?" I smiled, ripping the number into pieces.
He chuckled, " And you're still a horrible, frosty little man." he smirked, winking at me.
I rolled my eyes and turned my head as he walked away.

"So, little brother, are you okay?" Caleb asked, unpacking some of my clothes.
"Whaddya mean?" I asked, putting things in drawers.
Caleb stopped, " The whole famous thing? I mean, dad's in the news all the time, which makes us targets already, but for you to be famous on your own is great." he smiled.
"True. I could be Paris." I smiled, looking out the window.
"You miss them?" Caleb asked.
"The Halliwells?" I asked.
"It's okay to miss them." Caleb smiled.
"I know. But it does no good. I'm here and all I want to do is settle and be fun, but i'm thinking about them." I said.
"It's alright, you almost died." Caleb said quickly.
"Yeah. That was no fun. I just, had to get out of htere, I can't die young. Not for anyone." I said.
"So, how about you just relax and I'll unpack." Caleb smiled, " But come back, I'm not unpacking everything."
"Thanks." I smiled, " But I can do it. I mean, the magic is good."
"I thought you weren't going to use it. I thought that would lead them to you." Caleb said.
I shrugged, " Maybe it will, maybe it won't." I said, I call up on the smaller powers, in this time and in this hours, take my stuff and sort it out, put it into the right drawers." I chanted, making the clothes fly out and land in the right drawers.
"That was...so freaking awesome!" Caleb said, " Can you get me to the boardroom? I'm late."
"I cannot believe you're son of the board. I thought you'd be the artist forever." I smirked, " Umm, take him to the boardroom, so he won't meet his doom." I said, causing him to disappear from the room. I smiled to myself and walked out of the door, heading down the hall. As I got further down the hall, I saw the bathroom ahead. I had my own in case there was a paprazzi, but I wanted to be just like everyone else. My jaw dropped when I saw Tristan come from the bathroom with a towel around his waist. He didn't see me at first because some girls were gawking at him and he chuckled at them, then turned his head as I tried to sneak off.
"Drake?" he yelled.
I stopped and turned around, " Hiiii, Tristan. Didn't know you went here." I said slowly.
"I transferred." He smiled, " My parents said that maybe I'd do better away from my drinking buddies."
"Yeah, interesting." I said.
"So, you're attending here? Wyatt know?" he asked.
"No and you can't tell him." I said.
Tristan ripped a poster of the wall, " Only if you go with me this party." Tristan smiled.
I chuckled, " So you're blackmailing me?" I asked.
"No. I'm trying to get you to blackmail me." Tristan smiled.
"Wow." I chuckled, " What's the catch?"
"No catch." Tristan said honestly, " What do I have to do? Drop the towel right here?"
"You wouldn't." I said, looking around.
"I told you in San Francisco, I honestly like you." Tristan smiled, dropping the towel, " Plus, you're pretty hot."
I smiled as he walked back to his room, butt naked. The girls absolutely loved that. I just giggled and walked back to my room.
I walked to a little cafe downtown and waited for Wyatt and Chris, who were actually late. I checked my watch, trying to decide whether to call them or not. I was about to call when someone sat down opposite of me. I looked up to see Spencer.
I scoffed, then chuckled, " Didn't I ask you to leave." I asked.
"Waiting on your boyfriend?" he asked.
I smirked, " No. I'm waiting on my family." I said.
"So, what, you're boyfriend's doing law things?" he asked.
"Look, it's like old times," I said, slwmming my cell phone shut, " I cannot believe you. Five years ago, you were a two-faced, out-for-himself guy and here you stand today. I guess what's why you never got anywhere with me."
"It didn't last because you were worried about your friend." Spencer said quickly, " You know, when I caught you and him..."
"Still bitter?" I asked, " That was only after you printed my secrets in the paper...I mean it wasn't enough for you to never be around, but you doing that was worse."
"I'm a reporter." Spencer argued.
"That's supposed to be your job, not you." I said angrily.
Spencer chuckled, " Whatever happened to that guy?" he asked.
"I'm going to marry him onne day." I smiled.
"I hope you have a nice life. I know I will, I mean, after the paper comes out, which should have been an hour ago, I'll be getting a big promotion." Spencer said, standing.
"What's that mean?" I asked.
"Oh look, there's your future husband." Spencer said, leaving.
When he past by Wyatt and Chris, he gave them a nasty look and moved on. They walked to me, Wyatt with a paper in his hand.
"Hey, you guys are late." I said as Wyatt pushed the paper at me, " what's...oh my gosh!"
The paper had a picture of me on it and it read: Famed singer and writer, Drake Summers, Son of Peter Summers, wealthy philantropist, has been found. After hiding for months, our reporter, Spencer Sunderland has found him living in San Francisco with his childhood friends, sharing a Manor. There was more, but I could read it, I just looked at Wyatt and Chris.
"Who's the guy?" Chris asked.
"Spencer Sunderland." I said, " He's a reporter who wrote this story and my...ex."
"Why'd he look at us like that?" Chris asked.
Wyatt and I looked at each other.
"Crap." I said, " When I was in New York, Tristan transferred there and Wyatt came to visit him. While Wyatt was there, we sort of ran into each other while I was dating Spencer."
Chris looked from me to Wyatt and back, " What? Why didn't either one of you tell me?" he asked.
"Because when I was in New York, I was a little lost. I was little Mr. Famous and I couldn't deal with the pressure." I confessed, " And Wyatt helped."
"I could've helped." Chris said.
"I know, I so know, but I didn't want anyone to see me like that." I said carefully, " I was waking up on the street...I mean, no drugs, just spells."
"Abusing spells?" Chris asked.
"So much that I got yelled at by the Elders." I explained, " You really wanna know?"
-Flashback-
I woke up with Wyatt, his arms around me and I freaked out. I rolled out of his arms and stood there, naked. Wyatt woke up slowly and looked up at me.
"What's going on?" Wyatt asked groggily.
"I just slept with you! I mean...Oh my gosh, I slept with you and I've got a boyfriend." I said frantically.
"I realize that." Wyatt said, getting up and he, too, was naked.
"We had a baby in the future, which means you get me pregnant and we can't just have sex whenever we want to! I...why did you come here?" I asked.
"To see Tristan, but I guess I was meant to be here." Wyatt said.
"Fate? That's your excuse. There's no fate. No Destiny. There's us. Did you know I was here?" I asked.
"How can you say that? After everything you've seen and all the stuff we've been through? I wish I had known you were here and that you were in such pain because I'd have been here in a heartbeat." Wyatt said, walking to me.
"Maybe this isn't something 'Power of Three' can fix. It's my demons and honestly I'm not just risking my heart or your heart, I'm risking Spencer's." I said in frustration.
"So, I guess you're not coming back with me?" Wyatt asked.
"No." I smiled, letting a tear fall, " You can't let anyone know how bad I am or even that I'm here. You can't come back. I just need you to be there for me...in San Francisco."
"Wait, you want me to wait fo you?" Wyatt asked.
"No. I just need you to be passive in your helping. That's how you can help." I said.
"I get it. Can I at least tell Chris? He's..." Wyatt started.
"No. Just tell him you sensed me and I'm good. I'm happy." I said.
Just then the door opened and Spencer walked in, but stopped at the sight of us.
"What the hell is this?" he asked angrily.
I sighed and froze him, " I hadn't even thought of what to say." I frowned.
"Well, maybe we can say a spell to..." Wyatt said.
"No." I said firmly, " I deserve to get caught. I just think you should leave right away." I kissed him, " I love you." I said quietly.
"I love you too." Wyatt said, moving away from me.
I unfroze the scene.
I walked into the attice and flipped through the pages in the Book Of Shadows as fast as I could. Wyatt and Chris moved closer to me and looked at confusedly.
"What are you doing?" Chris asked.
"I am finding a spell that is either going to erase the article or kill Spencer." I joked. I looked up at Chris and Wyatt who looked at me worriedly, " I was kidding...about the first one." I said, causing Chris and Wyatt to look at me more intensely, " Ok, lighten up."
"You're using magic to hid yourself from fame?" Wyatt asked.
"Personal Gain." Chris said.
I sighed, " Look, I've been using a spell to hide myself for a while now, so..." I started.
"You've been what?!" Piper said from the door. We all turned to see Piper, Phoebe, and Paige.
I sighed, and smacked my hand against my head, " Look, it's the only way I could know for sure that we wouldn't have cameras on our asses and we wouldn't have any extra..." I stopped at the voices in my head.
"What's wrong?" Phoebe asked.
"All these voices in my head." I said.
"My charges." Chris said.
Paige sighed, " Oh crap. Do I have to teach you how to be a whitelighter too?" she asked.
"No, because I'm not gonna be a whitelighter because we're going to find the bastard that did this to me." I said angrily.
"Here I am..." the demon said behind us.
