Tales from Bentonville, Chapter 74

The four guys who lived at Greta's house had been plenty busy even though they had minor roles in helping with the senior prom. At the moment, they were trying to win the contest to see "Wild Boys" in concert in New York. They were going to work on the three short-answer questions together, but each had to compose his own essay.

Their good intentions to have their entries completed and sent in a couple of weeks earlier had gone by the wayside because of their activities schedules. Now it was down to the wire.

The essay part had been instituted because the members of "Wild Boys" assumed that most of their fans would all know the answers without much, if any, research. They needed a way to separate the people who merely wanted a free trip from those who might truly deserve it. Having participants say something about themselves would serve that purpose.

"Okay, this first question is easy enough because I am holding the CD in my hand," Dane announced. "Their second album is called `The Art of Designing and Building Sound.' I'm sure that none of their fans will miss that."

"I had to search the web to find the answer to the second question," Dave said. "I printed out what it said on Wikipedia so that we wouldn't mess up the spelling. The guitar that Jason bought for Liam is a Fender Stratocaster. I think that was a really cool thing for him to do. He's evidently a good guy.

"And," Colton chimed in, "We know that `Dreamfields' is the name of their recording studio complex because it appears on the CD labels. Well, we have all of the easy stuff done. We'd better write our short essays as if we were doing them for a college entrance exam. I have a feeling there will be a lot of stiff competition."

Dane offered to show Colt something stiff to compare with the competition, and there was a bit of ass-grabbing and general horse-play before each guy settled down to begin composing on his own laptop.

Dustin reminded them that they were going to have to work quickly because the contest deadline was only a few days away. Fortunately, they could submit their entries by e-mail and would get back a confirmation the same way so that they wouldn't have to depend on "snail mail". Who could tell where a mailed entry would end up or how long it would take to get there even if it didn't get lost?

Of course each guy included whatever biographical details he thought might help him win. All of them briefly mentioned that they would like to be able to take the trip with their boyfriend. Since there was rumor that Jason and Gary were together, the guys figured it couldn't hurt to let the band members know about their orientation.

But, it would be Dustin's essay that would catch the attention of the judges from Billboard Magazine, and when they forwarded it to Jason, he agreed.

Dustin wrote in glowing words about the five close friends who had helped him in his coming out to his parents. He said that Dane and Colt had gotten him back with his boyfriend and helped him realize that the two of them could make it despite Dustin's parents. He included a brief account of how Alex and Joel were ready to come to physical blows to protect him when they thought his father might try to smack him around. Then he talked about how Dane and Colt's grandmother had taken his boyfriend and him to live with them when his mother had become emotionally ill.

Finally, he said that as much as he would personally love to see `Wild Boys", he would give the four tickets to the guys who had been there for him -- in the event that he won, of course. His only big regret was that his boyfriend would miss out on the trip if he did. But he knew that Dave loved him enough that he would back his decision despite having to miss a live performance of a group he was crazy about.

Across the ocean, two days later, Jason read Dustin's essay with a couple of tears in his eyes. Gary came over to see what was wrong when he heard his lover sniffling at his computer.

"Here, read this," Jason smiled. "There is a guy in Iowa who has a heart as big as the ones that your family have."

As Gary read the entry, he too got misty-eyed.

"No, it's more like he has a heart as big as you do. So, what's the answer?

I think I have a solution if you don't."

"If you are thinking of flying all six of those guys to New York and book an extra suite in our hotel for the two other guys, you and I are on the same page." Jason responded.

After a short phone call, Jason had an agent in New York setting up everything. Now, the only thing left to do was to notify Billboard of his decision and then contact Dustin.

All during the rehearsals and performances of the musical and the preparations for prom, athletic activities had been continuing as well. Most of this was track and field since there wasn't much interest in tennis or golf in Bentonville. Some kids were practicing for summer softball and baseball, but for the most part boys and girls alike were competing in track and field events.

The boys from Bentonville did well enough at the district level to go on to state in several events in the middle of May. It was always exciting to compete against others from around the state and to make new friends whether or not you won your event. Winning may be the goal, but camaraderie and sportsmanship were just as important for learning to live in harmony with others in the world.

In the hurdles, Joel placed first in their division and third in the state. He was as thrilled as if he had been state champion because he didn't miss the top spot by much and he had never dreamed of excelling in sports to this extent. He blushed at the effusive praise his teammates heaped upon him. He turned a deeper shade of red when Alex whispered in his ear that he had a special reward for Joel that night since he wouldn't have to be concerned about running the next day. The way his lover phrased it made Joel wonder if he would even be able to walk in the morning.

Allen took first place in the state in the shot put. His distance of 70 feet, three inches was the best anyone had done since 1968, but still fell eight inches short of the state record. His twin teased him about lacking eight inches. Allen didn't miss the innuendo and before he caught himself, he shot back that Abby could testify that he had plenty. Although they hadn't gone all the way yet in their lovemaking, she had measured his hard cock while they were playing around and she had tried to swallow as much of it as she could. Allen blushed furiously after he realized what the other guys must be thinking. Not that they weren't having frequent sex themselves, but he didn't want to give his girlfriend a reputation. He may have been a horny teen, but he was also a gentleman.

Joel saved the moment by saying that he was sure the twins were physically identical in every way and that meant that Allen certainly wasn't lacking eight inches. (Alex and Joel were secretly hoping that Allen was having as much fun with his ample equipment as they were with theirs, but they hadn't felt comfortable in asking.)

The team of Colt, Dane, Dave, and Dustin came in first in the boys' 2A division in the 4 by 800 event with a time of 7:59.70. Dave cinched the victory in the last part of his 800 leg when he pulled away from the pack. It was an awesome win for the kid who had recently recovered from a beating that had cracked several ribs. Their time placed them second in the state.

Alex soared 21 feet, 5 ½ inches in his final long jump attempt. It was enough to give him the win. Bentonville was becoming a force to be reckoned with in the whole state of Iowa. They had impressed coaches and sportscasters in football, basketball, wrestling, and swimming. Making a showing in track was icing on the cake. The guys weren't sure how much better life could get for a high school kid. Dustin was soon to find out.

May 23 began as an ordinary day. The seniors were looking forward to graduating in a few days and the rest of the students were hoping that finals wouldn't be too hard and that they would soon be free of books, homework, and early ringing alarm clocks until fall.

Although the track season officially ended with the state meets, students who had been involved were still expected to put in their time exercising since they had been excused from regular physical education classes in order to participate.

The six buddies were going to work out in the weight room that day. The relay team had had enough running for awhile and the others felt that doing some lifting would make the best use of their required exercise time.

It was going to make him late, but Dustin checked his e-mail in the library on the way to the gym. He was hoping against hope to hear about the contest.

"Oh my God!" he exclaimed. "This is too good to be true!"

Wearing a frown, the librarian hurried over to hush him up. She hadn't even got to him when he bounded out of the room leaving her to wonder what was going on.

A bunch of guys were dressed and ready to head for the weight room when Dustin bolted into the locker room, picked Dave up off of his feet, and spun him around while giving him a big wet kiss.

"What the Hell has gotten into you," Dave asked. "...not that I mind!"

Dustin announced that he had won the contest to see "Wild Boys" and that the prize had been extended to include six people so he was going to take five other guys with him.

Suddenly, everyone else in the room wanted to be Dustin's best friend. Even the ones who had basically ignored him since he came out were trying to make reparations. He watched the looks on their faces as he announced who he was taking along.

Dustin told his friends that he had been contacted personally by Jason, who said that his essay had touched all of the guys in the band. They were impressed to the point that they had decided to extend the prize by two so that all six of the guys would be able to go. Jason also asked if Dustin had a webcam so that they could attempt to set up a face to face meeting in cyberspace. Dustin shared most of the contents of the e-mail with his friends except for the part that praised his generous spirit. He was kind of shy about that.

When the coach discovered what all of the commotion in the locker room was about, he allowed Dustin to go into the PE office to respond to Jason's e-mail. His five best buddies were allowed to crowd in to help him decide what to say.

Dane assured Dustin that DJ would let them use his webcam. They could get together at DJ's or Grandma's house to communicate with the guys from "Wild Boys." Dane went to get his cell phone from his locker to see if Greta would set things up.

It was an excited group of teens who sat in Greta's family room that early evening munching on pizza awaiting the time to sign on. When DJ got his webcam hooked up and the transmission was complete, it seemed like a dream. Here were young gay guys who had some common interests visiting with their counterparts from halfway around the world. Except for the differences in their accents, they might have all grown up together.

Each guy got to have some conversation with the guys on the other end of the web. They promised to e-mail photos of themselves so that everyone would recognize each other when the finally got to meet in person.

Finally, Jason said that since it was actually past bedtime in England, they would have to sign off. Before he did, he told the Bentonville crowd that it was because of Dustin's selflessness, in being willing to give away his prize to his best buddies while he would remain at home, that he had won the opportunity for all of them. Dustin's eyes were moist as his friends gave him hugs and pats on the butt. Life was good, indeed.

The boys were even more eager for the school year to end. Alex and Joel would already be graduated before the 30th of May when they would fly into JFK. The other four would still be taking final exams in the early part of June. They fretted over that fact until Greta came to the rescue. She said that she would call the school to request permission for the guys take their finals early. If necessary, she would call in a few markers. She had done some favors for the high school administrators over the years and she was not afraid to remind them of it if it came to that, but she didn't expect it to. This was an opportunity of a lifetime and her special boys were going to enjoy it without having to worry about missing a couple of days of school. She felt that Mr. Heggarty would agree.

By the time that second hour class rolled around the following day, each of the four boys had received passes to the counselors' office where they were given a schedule for taking their last exams early. Teachers seemed to be willing to go the second mile for kids who had worked hard all year.

Graduation was at once a solemn event and an exciting one. The board of education had gone along with Mr. Haggerty's recommendation to do away with awarding the title, "valedictorian" to the one senior with highest grade point. It was a new trend in a number of Iowa schools in an attempt to recognize more students for their achievement rather than a single person who might have taken easier classes in order to be at the top of the heap.

Most students welcomed the change. As a result of it, five seniors would be honored. The Albers' twins would be sharing the stage with Joel, Toni, and Caitlin. Each would give a short speech during the ceremonies. All took that assignment seriously, having teachers from the Language Arts department go over their speeches so that they would be as perfect as possible.

Relatives came from everywhere to see the seniors receive their diplomas. Among them were Jacques and Genevieve Teague who flew in the day before graduation in one of the corporate jets. Rhys and Jane were at the airport with the Mercedes to drive them to Bentonville.

The ladies sat in back discussing the plans for Joel's party while the men talked business. Jacques had more or less taken the company back from his son and was expecting to run things until Joel and his brother were old enough to participate. Jacques expressed his hope that Joel would at least sit on the board of directors even if he chose to become an architect.

"I'd feel better with him involved. I don't entirely trust our younger grandchild. He's too much like his father! Isn't it terrible of me to speak that way about my own son?"

The parties that followed graduation were fun and well attended. The Albers' twins had a combined party with Joel. It was held at the lake cottage on Saturday with all kinds of activities available. Greta opened up her place along with her sports equipment for guests to use as well. Dane and Colt were busy taking party goers out to ski.

The guest list included all of their high school friends plus relatives and extended family. Jacques and Genevieve were there as was the entire Nissen family. The school friends included all of the kids like Jerry, Carrie, Sara, Trent, Cory and Dan who had shared lunch tables and good times. Other buddies like Dan's older brother John and his partner Darrin were invited too.

Caleb had been overjoyed at the invitation because his feelings for Alicia had not cooled off in the least since Christmas. The two had e-mailed every day and had often talked on the phone for hours on weekends.

It wasn't often that three guys had a party together, so the guests didn't know what to expect. What they found was a lavish affair. Neither the Albers nor the Masterson's were lacking in funds.

The spread of food was beyond what anyone in the small community had witnessed. Instead of cold cuts, hotdogs, and buns, there was sliced beef, ham, and turkey -- all freshly roasted. These were complemented by croissants and specialty breads and a variety of cheeses. There were also platters of cold shrimp to dip in cocktail sauce.

The fruit trays included pineapple and kiwi fruit flown in especially for the party. Adults were invited to choose from a variety of wines while the kids had access to a soda fountain machine with a wide selection of soft drinks.

By 4:00 p.m., most of the guests had left. The only ones that remained were the close buddies who would be going to New York together plus Allen, Abby, Alicia, and Caleb. So they took the opportunity to play on the jet skis, swim, or water ski while the adults relaxed on the deck of the Masterson's cottage over a little more wine.

Since they had hired help for setup, serving, and cleanup, Jane, Genevieve, and Lori could be free from the stress of entertaining. It made the event enjoyable for all.

When all of the kids had had their fill of playing in the water and had taken turns getting showered at the two cottages, Allen announced that he was taking Abby, Alicia, and Caleb back to town to the Albers' where they would be watching a movie and eating pizza.

Their parents all bid them adieu and went back to their visiting. They probably realized that there would be some making out going on in front of the TV, but they were pretty sure that it wouldn't get out of hand because Abby would be quite aware that her brother would be present and Alicia would be embarrassed to do to much in front of her brother. Most parents (fathers at least) figured that their male offspring would be less inhibited by the presence of a sibling.

Things did remain fairly discreet at the Albers' house. Abby had her hand in Allen's lap throughout most of the movie as they melted together on the sofa. It wasn't that obvious because the room was illuminated only by the light of the TV screen.

Caleb and Alicia were cuddled on the love seat. She nearly drew attention to them when she moaned as he worked a hand under her bra. Everyone was reacting to a scary scene at the time, so the others did not hear her. She did not protest when he eventually managed to unhook that garment to give him better access.

He nearly came in his shorts when she began to French kiss him while he explored her soft, spongy mounds. As he gently massaged her nipples, he actually brought her to orgasm. Fortunately a car chase scene masked her moans.

When the movie ended, the kids all shuffled up to the bedrooms without turning on any bright lights. The girls' clothing was in disarray and the boys crotches were bulging. Everyone was aware of that, but they all chose to ignore it. Kind of like a "don't ask; don't tell" policy.

In the relative darkness of the twins' bedroom, Allen and Caleb shucked their clothes to the skin with no false sense of modesty. Allen grabbed a box of Kleenex and offered it to his guest. Caleb grinned, knowing what they were for.

The two boys lay uncovered on their beds and began to pleasure themselves. Both tried to go slowly and make it last, but neither was able to. Their overheated libidos sped the headlong toward relief. Amid gasps and moans, both covered their chests and abs. In the aftermath, they giggled almost uncontrollably. As he had in the past, Allen went to the bathroom to procure a couple of warm, damp wash cloths.

That night, Dane, Colt, Dave, Dustin, Joel, and Alex stayed at Camelot because Greta thought they might like to have some space to themselves away from adults. They all visited with Joel's grandparents long enough to be polite before retiring early to their private quarters.

Once inside Greta's cottage, they stripped down to their underwear and sat around on the living room floor eating popcorn and listening to music. Couples snuggled together as much as the temperature would permit. It wasn't hot, but the evening breezes had not yet begun to cool things down completely.

Joel and Alex began to make out and the bulges in the crotches of their boxer briefs suggested that they were ready for some action. Dane recommended that they all strip off their last bits of apparel as they often did when at the lake.

"What if someone is out on the grounds and sees us?" Joel cautioned.

"We'll leave the lights off and have our shorts handy to jump into in the unlikely event that anyone will come to the door," Dane responded. "Your grandparents would never pop in unannounced anyway."

No one objected to Dane's plan. The place got very quiet except for the sounds of kissing, slurping, and moaning. Two of the couples had already crossed the final boundary of intimacy, but they were pretty certain that Colton and Dane had not. Therefore, they stuck to frottage and oral stimulation because everyone had done that around each other before.

It wasn't totally dark, but it wasn't light enough to allow anyone to see clearly what others were doing. Yet the movements taking place within the room were plainly indicative of love-making.

Eventually, the earlier noises were replaced by whimpering and ragged breathing. Hearing one's buddies getting close to coming can be a powerful aphrodisiac. Despite efforts on everyone's part to prolong the experience, all were heading rapidly toward climax.

Dustin's rhythmic gasping as he came was what sent the rest of the guys over the edge. An awful lot of sperm was pumped and very little went to waste. What didn't get ingested got used as body lotion.

"Whoa, that was hot!" Alex exclaimed. "It's been awhile since we've done this together. I don't think that I want to be involved in a real orgy, but having all of this intimacy with you guys is fan-fucking-tastic!"

Alex's comment made everyone giggle and all agreed that they had strengthened their mutual bond. Only Colton and Dane were related by blood, but all were related by the rite of coming together. Hopefully, they would always remain this close. Someone made the comparison of dried cum to superglue.

The night before the six friends were to fly to New York, they had one more obligation; to participate in the concert that would initiate the new swing choir. Even though they had a long trip the next day, they wanted to do this. They had practiced and perfected their singing and dancing. It was important to show the public what they could do.

Needless to say, the audience, made up mainly of friends and relatives, loved the show. At the end, they stood applauding for several minutes insisting on an encore. The director, Mr. Drahos, was overjoyed. He was sure that a new tradition had been firmly established. He was thankful for the new state-of-the-art digital camera that someone had donated because it had captured the whole thing. He made sure that the boys who were leaving in the morning got some DVD's before they left in case they wanted to show it to their British friends.

Author's note: The postings are going to continue to spaced further apart than they were months ago. Sorry! While you are waiting, I suggest reading "It Started with a Kiss" by David R. (Posted last on July 1) I know you will love it!

If you want to read something with more sex in it, try: "A Friend in Need." By Robert, I think.

Thanks to those who wrote recently. I hope I didn't miss anyone as I often seem to. Anyway, I love you guys: Mike K, Vann, Bill, Stephen P, Russell, Phillip V, Jim Wi, Kenneth, Tim P, Jim We, Alex, David R, Rad, Carroll, Ian G (about Zeke), Paul W, and, of course, Tim and Tom who proof this stuff. Hey David S, I think that I didn't send you this one. Mea culpa!
