Quiet and sensitive, Jeremy first appears halfway through Peter's Mistake, (ch 15). These chapters relate some events in his life prior to arriving at the house.

Jeremy.

Chapter 4.

"You're very perceptive Jeremy but I'm really not his boss. We're very important to each other, but you'll see, because you're coming to live at my house."

Jeremy was too astonished to say anything. Did he really say that? Was he joking?

"I didn't mean to sound bossy, but I really think you should.

"I should?"

Jeremy was repeating Peter's words to give himself time to think rather than to ask why, but Peter answered anyhow.

"Jeremy. I know when I meet someone special, and it's time some good things happened to you. We've got a room that's just waiting for someone like you and I think it's the best way for you to do some of the things you've been telling me. It would only cost you $30 a week and if you'd like to do a few hours work around the place it wouldn't cost you anything. You'd have all your nights free to do your course properly."

He didn't sound like he was joking, but it couldn't be that cheap.

"Peter, it couldn't be $30."

"It is. That's how much Pete pays. You ask him. It's nice and close to College too, and you can easily get a lift. I want you to come so you'll be with friendly people. You've been lonely for too long. I'm already your friend and I'm sure Pete is, and I know you'll like everyone else. You already know Sam. He's the kindest person in the world and he's gay too."

"Sam? Pete's friend?"

"Yes, and you know Michael from our swimming group. He's my special friend and I know he'll like you."

"What? Is he gay too?"

"I don't know. He's been through a terrible time and there's mystery about him. Brian and Anthony are there as well and they're partners."

"Partners?"

"Yes, they've been living together for several years and they share the big front room. And we've got Andrew out in the bungalow and he's amazing, but he'll like you too. Can you tell me one good reason why you shouldn't move in?"

"Yes, it's too good to be true."

"So? When are you coming?"

"Do you really mean it?"

Jeremy felt the hair at the back of his neck tugged in the now familiar gesture.

"I mean it Jeremy. Understand?"

"Yes!... Yes! ...Yes!"

Each soft tug brought a shiver of affirmation and trust.

"I've already paid my rent for the next two weeks and I should give a week's notice for my job. Would two weeks be all right?"

"You can move in next weekend if you want to."

"I'm scared. Do you really think they'll be friendly?"

"You'll see!"

Jeremy was astonished all over again when Peter started asking him personal questions about things he'd never dreamed of telling anyone. The answers all came easily though because Peter would say his own answers first so they were sharing. All the time he was touching and cuddling and asking Jeremy to do things back, till eventually Jeremy realised he could explore Peter's body however he wanted and Peter would enjoy it.

"Jeremy, will you help me? I want you to remember our first night together."

It was a thrill to hear the way Peter said first night with a meaning that there were going to be more. Jeremy knew he would never forget this night for the rest of his life anyway. A few hours ago the idea that someone would be playing with his body would have frightened the life out of him and here he was, loving every minute and happily doing the same back. A hand closed round him again and this time it had a slippery substance and the sensations nearly sent him off the planet. When Peter knelt over him Jeremy thought he was going to start kissing, but instead he slowly worked himself back onto Jeremy's cock. This was one of the terrible things that his father and his aunt had talked about. Peter was going ahead as if it was something special.

"Should we do this Peter?"

All the movements stopped and Jeremy wondered if he'd upset Peter, but soft lips brushed against his own in a special way that had somehow started between them.

"We won't do one single thing you don't want to Jeremy. Do you want me to stop?"

"No, but isn't it meant to be bad?"

Again there was that brush of the lips and Peter's hand held the back of his neck.

"It's only bad if I make you do it, but I'm going too quickly for you aren't I? We won't do anything unless you want to. Can I move just a little bit so I get used to you?"

Jeremy didn't say anything but when Peter started squeezing and making small rocking movements shock and pleasure ran through him. He gasped and Peter stopped altogether.

"Do you want me to stop now?"

"No!"

Peter started again and his movements gradually increased.

"Let me do this myself Jeremy. I've never had anyone as big as you so I'll take it slowly, but I know you'll love this."

Jeremy could hardly believe the feelings it gave him. He thought of Isaac Asimov's robots going into sensory overload, but then the overload of sensation concentrated and drove all other thoughts from his mind. Peter stopped again and without thinking about it Jeremy started pushing to keep the feelings going.

"Yes. That's what I want Jeremy. Now you can do all the moving."

Each shove seemed to set more nerves on fire and each shove somehow needed to be stronger than the one before. Jeremy couldn't help himself. As the fire rose up inside he pushed harder and harder till release brought him to a peak of feeling and a sudden stop. As his thoughts cleared he wondered what Peter was doing. Was he trying to stop him breathing? In an instant mind replay he heard himself yelling and realised Peter was only trying to keep him quiet. What was happening? He didn't even know he was yelling until after. He said he was sorry but Peter just laughed and said he was happy he felt so good.

"I can't believe it. My body took over and sent me crazy."

Peter kept showing him things, playing all kind of games with his body and making him feel happier and happier all the time. When it was time to go to sleep Jeremy felt even more special when Peter wanted to spoon in front of him and be cuddled.

Ooh! What a wonderful dream. Jeremy often had these dreams, and when he woke up all hard he'd play with himself, sometimes finishing into the tissues which he'd learnt to keep near his bed, and sometimes waiting for his morning shower. Someone was holding him and images of Mr Bonner doing all sorts of things went through his mind. The dream got more exciting and he could see Mr Bonner smiling. At the moment when the dream reached its climax Jeremy jolted awake to the realisation that a hand really was holding him. Next he felt a warm body lying against him and shock flared momentarily till memory flooded back. Mr Bonner's smile completely relaxed him and he marvelled for a minute at the feelings from a hand holding him. Mr Bonner used the hand towel again then pulled them together in a face-to-face cuddle. Happiness blossomed again in Jeremy as they lay close together. Sometimes talking softly, sometimes gently exploring each other, and sometimes just enjoying the warm contact. This was so different to the powerful feelings he'd had last night but it rebuilt and strengthened the feeling that Mr Bonner really liked him. There were sounds as other people started moving about but Jeremy felt like they were in a special world of their own as they ignored them. That is until there was the sound of Pete's voice. When Mr Bonner poked his head out of the tent and called Pete in, Jeremy frantically grabbed the sheet and covered himself just in time. Pete, dressed in just his speedos and his normal smile, climbed in and looked at Jeremy. Fear tore at Jeremy in the next instant when he heard Mr Bonner speak.

"Pete! Jeremy's scared that if you knew he was gay you wouldn't like him."

Pete's eyes locked on him and Jeremy saw the smile grow. Before Jeremy knew what hit him, he was squashed under Pete's weight and a new pair of lips was covering his own. The kiss went on and on and to Jeremy's amazement it was like last night. Warmth filled him and his body responded. Pete sat up, yanked the sheet off and laughed as Jeremy covered himself.

"You liked that didn't you?"

Jeremy felt his face flame.

"Let me have a look."

Pete just looked happy. There was no sign of anger and Jeremy thought he even looked pleased. A quick glance showed Mr Bonner smiling too. Pete was still waiting so Jeremy nervously moved his hands.

"Wow! What a beauty!"

To Jeremy's total shock, Pete reached down and gave him a squeeze. This was unbelievable.

"Pete, are you gay?"

The words just popped out and Jeremy wished he hadn't spoken, but Pete laughed.

"Not really Jeremy, but I'm not going to miss out when someone good-looking comes along either."

That was confusing enough, but in the next few minutes his head was whirling as he found out that Pete had connived to get him in the tent with Mr B, that he'd suspected he was gay all the time, and that he'd even thought Mr B. might ask him to live at their house. Pete left and when Mr B. went to get some food Jeremy sat in the tent thinking. Pete still liked him when he knew he was gay. His first friend who hadn't left him when he found out, and he looked so pleased when Mr B. said he was coming to stay. Jeremy felt himself get overcome again and Mr B. caught him crying softly when he came back to the tent.

"Hey what's wrong?"

"Pete still likes me."

"I told you he would."

"I know. But he really does."

"Pete's very special Jeremy."

Mr B. hugged him and Jeremy laughed and pulled himself together. He grabbed some food, helped pack the tent and everything into the cars, then waited, listening to all the talk till everyone gathered to find out what was happening for the day. Jeremy didn't have any choice and blushed when Pete said Mr B. needed someone to look after him.

"I think he didn't get enough sleep last night Jeremy, so stay close to him won't you. I'm swimming out to the island again but I want a report when I get back."

"Report?"

"Yes, you have to tell me everything that happens."

Mr B. arrived.

"What have you done now Pete? Jeremy looks a bit shocked."

"I don't know. I just asked him to tell me about your walk to the rocks when you get back."

"Oh yes? And you sound so innocent too."

Jeremy loved the walk, around the sandy beach of the bay to a long section with rocky platforms, steep cliffs and rock pools. Everyone explored the pools and when they came to a large one, used it as a swimming pool before moving on. Eventually the platforms ended and they had to turn back.

"I'm going to stop here and explore for a while."

Peter's announcement surprised Jeremy, but then his excitement rose when Peter moved closer and asked in a soft voice it Jeremy would stay with him. Five minutes later when everyone else had disappeared, Jeremy followed Peter to the large rock pool then felt his heart start to thud when Peter smiled at him and slid his speedos off.

"Come on Jeremy. You too. I've been thinking about this all morning."

Jeremy didn't react straight away, but the sight of Peter nude made him feel tight in his speedos. Being in the open felt so different to the private little world of the tent and knowing that his erection would be in full view gave Jeremy a strange feeling as he tugged his speedos off.

"Wow Jeremy. You look so good."

This time it was a stand-up hug that brought them close. The friendly warm feeling was just as strong as last night but it was overlaid with the knowledge of physical excitement. Jeremy surprised himself when he took Peter's hand and guided it between them till it was holding his boner. The amazing warmth and excitement of Peter's touch shivered through Jeremy's groin and then he relaxed at the happy sounds coming from Peter. They stayed at the pool for over an hour and Jeremy's happiness grew by the minute. He could see Peter's reaction to every touch and watch the interest when he answered any questions. Lingering doubts fled, to be gradually replaced with confidence and eagerness to share himself with Peter. The more things they did the more they wanted to do. The more they talked, the more there was to talk about. Jeremy told Peter more and more about his hopes and things he'd done. Asked questions about Peter's house and what it was like and listened while Peter talked about his own years of loneliness and uncertainty about being gay. Peter said they were going to work together one night a week to build Jeremy's maths and physics. When they got back to the camp Pete winked and gave a victory sign. Jeremy was feeling too happy to be embarrassed and gave one back. He got another wink when everything was packed up and Pete arranged for him to travel in Peter's van. Lying in his bed, Jeremy's mind went over and over all the things that had happened in the last three days. He smiled at the laughs Pete had caused, thought of the excitement in the surf and the swim to the island, and wondered at all the feelings he had about Peter. It took three quarters of an hour to write it all down in his diary before he finally switched his light off. The next day at College, Peter was his second lecturer for the day and it felt quite strange, as if they had a special secret. There was no opportunity to talk, but at the start, and several times during the course of the hour, their eyes met for an instant of personal communication. Jeremy decided he was going to get the best marks in the world for all his maths subjects. Pete found him at lunchtime and after they'd bought sandwich packs at the cafe, dragged him off where they could talk. Jeremy felt rather hesitant at the start. This was the first time they'd really had a chance to talk since yesterday morning when he came to the tent, but all Jeremy could sense from Pete was excitement about his moving in. Everything else felt the same. They went over some of the happenings and then Pete was all curious about yesterday afternoon.

"You're a stud Jeremy aren't you? Peter couldn't keep his hands off you could he? Were you both out of your speedos as soon as everyone left?"

Jeremy could hardly believe Pete would ask a question like that and his mouth dropped open in shock, while he looked around to see if anyone could have heard. This got a great laugh from Pete, who then gave him a friendly whack on the arm.

"See. I was right wasn't I?"

Jeremy couldn't say no. He was too honest. But surely Pete couldn't expect him to talk about stuff like that? Well he obviously did. His big grin and expectant look was so contagious Jeremy felt an answering grin growing on his own face. God! He'd just incriminated himself. In two seconds flat he was on his back on the grass with Pete sitting on his stomach and demanding to know more. Five minutes later he recovered from his laughter and happy kind of panic at Pete's techniques, to realise the fact that he'd come three times had been wheedled out of him.

"Stud!"

Every few minutes from then on Pete would either say stud' or three' till the Jeremy couldn't help laughing.

"Pete, you're mad. I can't believe you got me to tell you that."

"Everyone tells me things Jeremy. And if you didn't I'd get it out of Peter anyway. Guess what? He told everyone at the house how special you are last night, and they're all excited about you coming."

"He said I was special?"

Jeremy felt good about that for a start, but then it wasn't so good because they might expect too much from him.

"I'm not special."

"Well I think you are! And so does Peter and he's always right about stuff like that."

Jeremy didn't say anything. One little sentence and the way Pete said it, wiped every worry about the way Pete thought of him out of his mind. The next thing he knew, Pete was holding his head tight and whispering in his ear. Jeremy looked at him in disbelief.

"Pete, he's going to help me with my maths."

"He'll love it and you know he will. Think how horny you'll be for him by Thursday. I'll bet you can't last till then."

In fact Jeremy hadn't lasted past getting up time this morning and now he was praying that Pete wouldn't notice him blushing.

"Stud! Hey, Peter said the place where you're staying hasn't even got a desk? That doesn't sound right."

"I was lucky to even find somewhere Pete. I searched for ages."

They talked more about the weekend then headed for their respective lectures.

Thursday arrived, bringing with it excitement and a strong dose of butterflies in the stomach. There were going to be seven people judging him tonight and it felt scary no matter what Pete said. He was waiting at the gate with his bag of books and dressed neatly when Pete pulled up at 5:30. Pete was full of jokes and saying how good their meal was going to be, but Jeremy didn't feel like responding much. When they pulled up his first impression was how big the house was. That faded quickly from his mind though as Pete ushered him through the doorway. Every single one of them was smiling. Big, welcoming smiles. And then instead of shaking his hand they hugged him as if it was the natural way of greeting. It was quite overwhelming. The whole group took him on a tour of the house next, showing him their rooms, upstairs, and outside, then they sat at a big table and started the meal. Pete was carrying on like crazy, which was quite a relief, because it made Jeremy feel like he wasn't the sole focus of attention. Sam carried a huge pot to the table and ladled out platefuls of soup containing great chunks of mushroom till everyone was served. It was the best soup he'd ever tasted. Anthony and Pete helped themselves to seconds and Jeremy wanted to, but was afraid they might think he was greedy. They were just finishing when there was the deep rumble of a motorbike engine. The door opened and a huge guy dressed in black leather walked in. He looked frightening but everyone greeted him happily and Pete told him to meet Jeremy. Jeremy went to stand up, but Andrew stood behind his chair and held him in place with a hand on each shoulder. Pete stirred Andrew about crushing Jeremy's neck the first time he met him, but it made Jeremy feel as if he'd been given another special welcome.

"I'll crush you Pete, if you've eaten all Sam's homemade soup."

His voice had the same friendly sound as everyone else and Jeremy knew straight away that there was a friendship between him and Pete. Andrew took a seat and the meal continued. The conversations built with laughter and stirring. There was an air of excitement which made Jeremy feel slightly nervous. Surely they couldn't be like this all the time? When laughter rolled round the room after a comment from Michael, Peter must have sensed that Jeremy was at a bit of a loss.

"We're all excited Jeremy. Brian's excited about a printing job he's planning and Michael and Sam have just found out their art exhibition is a success. It's mostly because you're moving here though."

The food was unbelievable. Jeremy stared at a giant serving of lasagne which half covered his plate, the two pieces of veal parmigiana which more than covered the rest of it and wondered where he was meant to put the three types of salad he was told to help himself with. Sweets followed with ice cream and some kind of fruit Jeremy had never had before.

"Come on Jeremy. It's time to see your room."

Pete made a big deal of it and Jeremy enjoyed the fun of being led with his eyes covered by Pete's hands to the only room he hadn't seen on the earlier tour.

"Here we are. Tell us what you think."

Jeremy blinked when the warmth of Pete's hands left his eyes and started taking in his surroundings.

"It... It's so big. It's three times as big as the room I'm in now."

Everything started to register, a double bed, a big old timber study desk, cupboards, bookshelves, a long workbench and a computer. A computer?

Jeremy took it all in. It was a great room but he thought they'd said it was ready for him. It still had someone else's belongings and he asked about it, a suspicion growing in his mind.

"It was round the place Jeremy so it's all for you."

A desk? Bookshelves!

"But there's a computer!"

"It's an old one Andrew had and it's connected to the internet too."

"All this is for me?"

"It's not that much Jeremy."

Jeremy stared again. Everything was there. A computer? He'd never dreamed he'd have a computer for years yet. He saw the faces looking at him, happy with their surprise and it was too much. He saw the pleasure on Peter's face. He saw Pete's grin. He tried to hold his feelings under control and managed well except for a few tears which he couldn't stop from sneaking out. They were all quiet and looking at him. Jeremy tried to say thanks for their welcome and the meal and everything but he couldn't do it properly and was relieved when Peter said they had to get on with the maths. By the time they were alone upstairs though, Jeremy felt excitement bubbling up inside him. A computer! He'd use it for his journal and stories. The internet would be a wonder. A proper study desk! He'd never had one. And the workbench would be perfect for his projects. His thoughts poured out in a torrent and gratitude welled towards Peter.

"It wasn't just me Jeremy. Everyone helped. Pete got your study desk. Michael and Sam found the bookshelves and the bench. Andrew organised the computer and Brian and Anthony did all the work, cleaning and getting it all into place."

It took Jeremy to seconds to realise there was no mention of the bed and that Peter had left himself out. He couldn't contain himself and grabbed Peter in a fierce hug. Pete's whispers on the lawn felt just right now, so Jeremy took his shirt off and hugged Peter again.

"Jeremy, we won't get any study done."

"I've been thinking of you all the time."

Peter's hands on his back sent new excitement and Jeremy broke their hug to remove the rest of his clothes. Jeremy's body was filled with passion and fire as Peter joined him for half an hour in this new experience of sharing himself. Working on the maths made Jeremy feel proud and pleased with himself when Peter wanted him to combine two years work into one.

"It will be hard work but if you don't do it I know you'll find this year too easy."

Jeremy started to wonder where he'd find the time till it hit home that every night would now be free. He wouldn't be dragging himself in from the supermarket too tired to do anything but sleep. The maths was cut short because everyone else was waiting to go to the College pool. Jeremy did some laps and watched Peter teaching Brian and Anthony, but mostly he just mucked round with Pete and Sam who spent a lot of time talking to him.
