Judgment Error - Chapter 9 by: Chip Dyp (chipdyp@hotmail.com)

I sat in the passenger seat, half dozing as Stefan drove through the thunder and lightening. I closed my eyes and thought back to my arrival, just two short weeks ago. Stefan had been the first person my age that I had met when his parents had come over to say hi.

I wiggled in the seat and adjusted the towel that I was leaning against. I hadn't expected to get into a relationship when I arrived. Our relationship had a rocky beginning, but now there were very few bumps. I loved Stefan, and Stefan loved me.

We still hadn't had sex, since he'd hurt me. The bruises had faded, and the limp caused by the fissure on my sphincter was gone. I was almost back to normal. Stefan was so gentle when he was with me, although he had his kinky moments. I kinda liked it when he played the strong man with me. It was kinda neat how he could make the switch so quickly. One moment, he was gentle as a kitten, the next he was more physical and forceful. Even when he was more physical, he would always smile when he saw me.

I yawned and stretched and look over at Stefan. He looked at me and smiled. "Still sleepy, lover?"

"A little. You were certainly enthusiastic."

"Mmmm, you didn't do so bad yourself. Just wait until your birthday. I've got a big surprise for you." Stefan looked at me and laughed.

"What?"

"Nothing. Take off your clothes."

"What?" I stared at Stefan in disbelief.

"C'mon, get naked."

"I don't think so."

"C'mon. You look so beautiful when you're naked." Stefan reached over and tried to undo my pants.

"Stefan, no." I tried to smack his hand away. "Stefan, stop. I don't want to get naked in the car." Stefan took his hand away after I told him to stop and I relaxed in the seat once more. "Jesus, you are insatiable."

Stefan looked back at the road for a second. His posture changed slightly and he looked back at me sheepishly. "I'm sorry, Ian. You're just so beautiful."

"That's all right. Can't get mad at anyone who thinks I'm beautiful." Stefan smiled back at me and looked back at the road.

"So what are you doing tonight?"

I yawned and leaned against my towel pillow. "I'm probably going to spend some time with my parents, then catch up on my sleep. What about you?"

"Probably the same thing. Did you want to go see a movie tomorrow night?"

"Sounds good."

"Why don't you try and get some sleep," Stefan said, squeezing my thigh. "I'll wake you up when we get back to town."

"All right, you just keep your eyes on the road and you hands on the wheel.

I don't want to have any fantastically real wet dreams."

"All right, I'll be good. I promise."

"I know you'll be good." I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

I awoke about an hour later. Stefan's hand was on my thigh and he was grinning. "Morning, sleeping beauty."

"Mmmmm, we home."

"Almost. Looks like you were having quite the dream."

"Hmmm?" I followed Stefan's gaze down to the bulge in my pants. "Dammit, Stefan. Did you get me hard?"

"Nope, you did it all on your own. So what were you dreaming about?"

"I can't remember."

"Uh huh. You were dreaming of me, weren't you?"

"Maybe," I replied with a sly grin. "But, you'll never know for sure." I adjusted myself, and tossed my towel into my backpack. Stefan slowed the car down as we entered the city and took the turn-off for our sub-division.

Stefan yawned and rubbed his eyes. "God, I'm so fucking tired."

"Well, you should've let me drive," I said. "Then you could've had some dreams about me."

"Nah, that's okay. I can't sleep in a car anyway."

Stefan pulled into his driveway and popped the trunk. I got out of the car and grabbed his stuff out of the backseat. "Give me a call tomorrow, beautiful."

"I will. Don't forget to use the salve."

"Yes, dad."

"Smart ass." Stefan playfully cuffed me on the back of the head and laughed at me.

"You know it." I looked up at him and smiled. "You know, I want to kiss you right here, right now."

"I would love it if you could kiss me."

"Sometime, somewhere, I'll give you one hell of a kiss."

"Mmmmm, I'm counting on it."

"Have a good night," I said slipping back into the car.

"You too."

I backed out of the driveway, and drove over to my house. Once safely in the dry garage, I grabbed my stuff and walked into the house.

"Mom, Dad? I'm home."

"How was the drive?" My mom asked, pulling off her apron.

"It wasn't too bad. I let Stefan do the driving, I was just too tired to do it."

My mom smiled and walked back into the kitchen. "Are you hungry? We had chicken for supper, and I can make you a sandwich if you'd like."

"That would be great, but can you make me a couple? I'm really hungry."

"Sure. Is something up? You seem really happy."

"Thanks. Um, no not really," I replied evasively. I wanted to tell my parents all about how much I loved Stefan, I really did, but I was kind of shy and embarrassed. "I've just been having fun at the lake."

"I don't believe you," My mom replied. She grabbed the chicken out of the fridge and started making my sandwiches while I sat at the table.

"What?" I tried not to giggle.

"You've found someone, haven't you?"

"Mom!"

"I don't want all the details, but you have found someone. I can tell."

"Is that part of the motherly instinct?"

"Yes, now be a good boy and tell your mom."

"Okay, I found someone. There are you happy?"

"So who is he?" My dad asked as he walked into the kitchen from the living room.

"You're just as bad as mom."

My mom placed the plate with the two sandwiches down in front of me and then sat at the table to my right. My dad walked over to the table and sat to my left. I took a bite of my sandwich and then looked from Mom to Dad. "Okay, this is just freaking me out."

I took another bite of my sandwich, ignoring my parents. Before I took my next bite, I rolled my eyes and quietly said, "It's Stefan, all right. I really like him."

"But does he like you?" My mom asked.

"Yeah, he does, but you can't tell his parents or anyone else. He's not out, and I don't want you outing him, like you outed me."

"We didn't out you."

"Yes, yes you did," I replied taking another bite. "Stefan heard you guys talking about Colin and me out on the deck before you went to Regina."

"Oh, Ian..." My dad started, but I cut him off.

"It's all right. Just be a little more discreet, all right?"

"We will. It's just so good to see you so happy," My mom replied taking my hand.

"Thanks, now can I finish my supper in peace?"

"All right," My mom replied, standing up. My dad smiled and followed her into the family room. I felt so good being able to tell my parents a little about my relationship with Stefan. Not that I was going to tell them about our first night together, though. There were just some things that my parents didn't need to know.

I finished my sandwiches and grabbed a handful of cookies from the cupboard. I sauntered into the family room where my parents were sitting in front of the TV, watching Men in Black. I collapsed onto the floor between them. "So what have you guys been doing while I was out at the lake?"

"Just getting settled, that sort of thing. Your dad starts work on Monday."

"What are you going to do all alone in an empty house?"

"There are a few things that I want to do around the house. I'd like to repaint the two upstairs bedrooms, and replace the carpeting. After I'm done that, I'll probably fix up the master bedroom."

"Didn't realize you knew how to lay carpet," I joked, taking a bite of a cookie.

My mom kicked me gently, "Smart ass."

"What about you, Dad? Have you gone into work yet?"

"Nope. I'm going to make my first appearance on Monday. So, besides working, what have you and Stefan been doing?"

"We haven't been doing what you are insinuating. We've just been having fun at the lake. You know, swimming, water skiing, that sort of thing."

"And what about Will?"

"What about Will, Mom?"

"Does he know about you and Stefan?"

"No. He doesn't know about Stefan and me, and we have no intention of telling him. Stefan doesn't think his parents will deal well with having a gay son, so we are keeping things very private." I turned around and looked at my parents. "So don't tell them anything, understand."

"Don't worry, we won't tell a soul," My mom assured me.

"Good," I turned around and finished eating my cookies.

I awoke about an hour later, when my mom shook my shoulder. "You should go get some sleep. Do you have anything planned for tomorrow night?"

"Stefan and I are going to go to a movie, but that's it."

"Why don't you invite Stefan over for supper?" My mom suggested just a little too eagerly for my taste.

"I'll ask. His parents might want to spend a little time with him, though."

My mom nodded and smiled. "But you should go to bed. You look beat."

I groaned as I stood and stretched. "Where are the cats?"

"They've been spending a lot of time downstairs at night. They'll probably come visit you while you are sleeping."

"Oh, good. Night."

"Good night." Mom hugged me and kissed me on the forehead. I yawned deeply and walked into the basement.

By the time I got to my room, the cats were rubbing against my legs and meowing. "Hey, Louis. Lestat. How are you two doing?"

Louis looked up at me and yowled. He really didn't like to be left alone. Lestat was more independent, walking away from me and jumping onto the bed.

I stretched again, and looked in the mirror. My eye was no longer black or puffy, and I almost looked normal. Well, as normal as an albino without hair dye, contacts or skin colouring looks. I scratched my belly and then pulled off my t-shirt. My skin was still milky white, with no sign of a tan. I scratched my arm and smiled. I didn't know what Stefan saw in me. I knew what I saw in Stefan.

I smiled and blushed. God, I had fallen hard for that boy. I undid the button on my jeans and pushed them to the floor. Louis yowled as I looked at myself in the mirror. "All right, all right. I'll spend a little time with you." I stepped out of my pants and pulled off my socks. I lay down on the comforter of the bed, and scratched Louis behind the ears. Lestat, seeing the attention his brother was getting, hopped onto the bed and meowed. "Oh, that's how it works. I scratch Louis behind the ears and you'll come looking for a scratch."

Lestat looked at me and closed his eyes. I scratched Lestat's neck and smiled at him. "You're a good cat, aren't you?"

Lestat gurgled and hopped off the bed. I scratched Louis a couple of times, and then he jumped off the bed. I smiled and pulled back the covers.

I yawned again, and walked over to the light switch. I sighed, and walked over to the bed. It was going to be hard sleeping alone again. I had gotten used to Stefan being near me. I lay down on the cool cotton sheets and closed my eyes. If I couldn't be with Stefan, I'm sure he wouldn't mind me dreaming about him.

I awoke late the next morning when Louis jumped on my chest. "Mmmm, Louis.

Why do you always wake me up?"

Louis just looked me in the eyes, and meowed, before jumping off the bed and running from the room. I groaned and rolled out of bed. I had my usual morning wood, but I ignored it and walked to the bathroom. After cleaning up a little so I didn't look like a complete freak, I went back to my room, and slipped into a pair of Speedo's.

"Ian, it's time for you to get up." My mom yelled down the stairs.

"I'm already awake, Mom."

"Good, lunch is in about an hour."

I walked up the stairs and into the kitchen. "All right, I'm going to go for a little swim."

My mom looked at me for a second, and smiled. "Your dad is doing laps. He's becoming quite the fish."

"He always liked swimming though, didn't he?"

"Mmmm hmmm. The pool is the reason that we bought this house."

I nodded and looked out at my dad doing laps. "Cool. I'll have to race him."

"Have you been wearing sun screen? You're looking a little pink."

"I ran out a couple days ago."

"Ian, you know you have to wear sun screen all the time when you go outside." My mom walked over to a cupboard and pulled a bottle out. "Turn around and I'll put some on your back."

"Yes, mom."

My mom squirted some of the cool lotion into her hand and the rubbed it into my back. "I'll buy two or three bottles of sunscreen when I'm out at the store this afternoon. Don't forget to take them with you."

"Yes, mom."

My mom handed me the bottle and watched as I coated my arms, legs, chest and face with the white lotion. When I finished, I turned around, letting my mom check me over. "Did you want me to buy you some of that zinc stuff for your nose?"

"I don't like that stuff. Can you buy some Solarcaine, though?"

"You shouldn't need to use Solarcaine, Ian. You should just use the sunscreen, all the time."

"I know, but sometimes I forget."

"Don't forget. You know you are at greater risk for skin cancer because your body doesn't have the pigment to protect the skin."

"Yes, mom."

"I'll buy the Solarcaine, but I don't want you to rely on it."

"Yes, mom," I said with mock exasperation.

My mom smacked my butt and opened the patio door. "Now, go have fun."

I giggled and stuck out my tongue. "Yes, mom."

I walked over to the pool and watched my dad for a few seconds before I dove into the pool. The water was cool but not cold. Just perfect. I swam a few lengths, trying to keep up with my dad but he was just too fast. My mom was right. He was getting into shape.

When he took a break in the deep end, I began treading water and smiled at him.

"Can't keep up with the old man?" My dad asked, trying to catch his breath.

"Nah, he's taller and a better swimmer."

"Being taller doesn't make you a faster swimmer." My dad pulled off his goggles and let them float in the water.

"Sure it does. You've got a longer reach than I have, plus your legs are longer and can move more water when you kick them."

"Yeah, but you're in better shape than I'm in." My dad held his breath and dipped his head into the water.

"Maybe, but not for long if you keep swimming."

"Well, we'll see at the end of the summer."

"So, what happens when the weather gets colder? How do we drain the pool?"

"I've got to talk to the pool guy about that. I think that what I might end up doing, is pumping most of the water out of the pool into rubber bladders and then using them to anchor a winter cover on the sides of the pool. I don't know though, he's got to take a look at the pool, and then he can tell us. I do know that I'm having a contractor come out and enclose the deck."

"Why?"

"Because I want to install a hot tub that we can use all year long."

"That would be very cool, Dad."

"I know. But don't tell your mom. It's going to be a surprise for her birthday."

"I won't."

"But, I think I'm going to go shower off before lunch."

"I'm going to do a few more lengths before I come in."

"All right. Don't forget to breathe out when your head is under the water."

"I know, I know."

I did a few more laps and then had lunch with mom and dad on the deck. After lunch I had a quick shower and then invited Stefan over for supper. I spent the rest of the afternoon playing on the Internet. By the time he arrived, I was so excited I couldn't sit still.

"Hey, Ian."

"Hey, beautiful. I missed you." I stood up and ran over to Stefan. I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him on the cheek.

"Hey, your parents are home."

"They know about us," I replied, moving to kiss Stefan.

Stefan grabbed my arms and held them tightly. "What do you mean they know about us?" Stefan hissed.

"I told them about us last night."

Stefan pushed me to the bed, and got down in my face. He was holding me down on the bed and scaring me a little. "Why would you tell them about us.

What if they tell my parents?"

"Let me go, Stefan. You're scaring me."

"Why did you tell them?" Stefan pressed me into the bed a few times. "Do you honestly think that they won't tell my parents that I hit you? That I hurt you?" When Stefan raised his hand to hit me, I flinched and spoke rapidly.

"I didn't tell them that, I swear. They said that they wouldn't tell your parents. Oh God, please don't hit me. Please, I'm sorry Stefan."

Stefan's expression softened and he rolled away from me. He leaned against the wall and started crying. "I'm sorry, Ian. I'm so sorry."

I sat up on the bed and looked down at Stefan sitting on the floor and crying. I stood up and walked over to Stefan.

"I'm sorry, Ian. I didn't mean to hurt you. Oh God, I'm sorry."

"It's all right. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have told my parents without asking you if I could first."

Stefan looked up at me and shook his head, "No, it's all right. I was just so scared that my parents might find out. I just can't deal with them knowing right now."

"It's all right. My parents won't tell anyone." Stefan looked down at his hands and then back up at me.

"I'm sorry about that, Ian."

"It's all right, I forgive you."

"But I hurt you again. Why do you keep forgiving me?"

"Because I love you, silly. Besides, it didn't hurt that bad."

"I think I need help, Ian."

"Help with what?"

"I need you to help me deal with my aggression."

I nodded and smiled. "I think you just took your first step by admitting that it can be a problem." I wiped the tears from his eyes and took his hand. "C'mon, let's go get cleaned up before supper."

Stefan smiled and hugged me tightly. "I love you, Ian."

"I love you too, Stefan."

After supper with my parents, who were remarkably restrained, Stefan and I joined a bunch of people and went to the movie. It wasn't that great of a movie, but I didn't even care. I was with Stefan and that was all that mattered.

I spent the next day with my parents, before Stefan and I got back into the car and drove back to the lake. I kissed my mom and told her and dad that I'd see them in ten days when I had my next time off. It was going to be an interesting ten days.
