AARON'S FIFTEENTH SURPRISE BIRTHDAY BASH: Part 2/5

THE GUESTS ARRIVE

"Hey, Lance, nice to see you again."

"Likewise, Mike. Howze it goin'?" Lance responded as they shook hands.

"Fine, thanks. And you?"

"Okay."

"Say, sorry to have read about that flight thing falling through with the Ruskies."

"Yeah, well, it's not over yet."

"Not til the fat lady sings, eh?"

"You got it."

"So, whatsup?"

"I ran into Aaron Carter a few days ago."

"Oh yeah? Nice kid."

Lance could not help notice Mike's face lighten up. Or was that just his imagination now that Aaron had planted the idea in his head. Or wishful thinking? "Anyway, we got to talking, and as you probably know, he's between tours right now."

"Yeah."

"Well, he was thinking of maybe doing a video since he's going to be staying put for a few months."

"Yeah?" Mike's eyebrow rose in interest, and in surprise. "His mother never mentioned anything about that."

"His mother doesn't know. And Aaron would rather she didn't at the moment. You know how teenagers are, wanting to strike out independently. And you know how mothers can be, especially mothers of performers."

"Oh yeah." Mike had worked with enough celebrities to know about stage mothers, and in his opinion, Jane Carter had to be among the worst. Of course her two kids were making millions for her and her husband.

"Anyway, you know my production company, A Happy Place."

"Of course. Hey, I read where you optioned Gordon Korman's book, 'Nose Pickers From Outer Space' for Randal Kleiser."

"Yeah, we did. Randal's an awesome director," Lance replied, surprised but pleased that Mike had been keeping up with his activities. For a brief second he wondered if that was more than a professional interest, but pushed the thought aside. Damn Aaron and his wild imagination! Now he had stirred up old fantasies and surmises of his own, fantasies and surmises from back when Mike was working for N'Sync. Mike's natural good looks and his personality made hm the type of guy it was easy to have fantasies about. "Anyway, I'm thinking of maybe A Happy Place doing the video for Aaron. Just a short clip, maybe of him performing a couple of his songs from his Rock, Rap and Retro tour."

"That would be cool."

"You still interested in getting into video?"

"Yeah, of course."

"We were thinking you could give us some technical advice, maybe shoot the video?"

"Shoot it? Now that would be awesome! But I've never done anything like that before."

"Hey, that's what life is all about, doing things you've never done before. You won't grow if you don't dare to try new things."

"Very true." Mike also knew they weren't just words. That was a belief Lance Bass lived by. It was also an opinion the two of them shared. Actually, there were a lot of things the two of them shared. Working for N'Sync had been fun, but what had made it especially fun was the presence of Lance Bass.

"And of course we were thinking of you handling the PR. The pay wouldn't be all that much though."

"Hey, don't sweat the pay. To be on the cutting edge of something like that, what an opportunity! Besides, the chance to do some work with you again would be pay enough."

Lance felt a shiver run up his spine as he looked into Mike's blue-green eyes. God, he was handsome, and the way Mike was looking at him, how could a healthy, imaginative American gay boy like himself not have erotic thoughts? He also felt a pang of guilt. Mike was a nice guy, decent, honest, and up front. He felt bad lying to him like this, setting him up. He'd be in for a major disappointment when it found it was all just a ruse to get him out to Aaron's home. And if they were wrong about Mike, if his interest was all in their wild imaginations and nothing more than wishful thinking, this could end up in a very big mess which would be even worse. Actually, what would be the very worst was that they could be doing a very bad thing to a very decent guy, not to mention putting a very nice guy a very awkward position. He reached out and put a hand on Mike's. Mike did not pull away, and there was a flicker in his eyes. Or was he just hoping to see a flicker, out of his own selfish interest, and to support what he was planning?

"So, you'll come down to Marathon with me on Saturday to discuss it with Aaron?"

"This Saturday? That's Aaron's birthday, isn't it?"

"Yeah. Actually, it'll be a surprise." Another twinge of guilt. It would be a surprise all right, a major surprise for Mike, and an even bigger one for them if they were wrong. Of course if they were right, it could be very, very good. "The little dude's feeling sort of down. You know how he adores Nick."

"Yeah."

"Well, it seems Nick has to be away that day. A promo on his single or something, and he couldn't get out of it, not without losing major dollars, and Aaron wouldn't want that, and nor would Jane." Mike could readily agree with that observation. Aaron would never be so selfish, and his mother would. "And on top of that he's gotten into this big argument with his parents. You know how it is, when you're fifteen you don't want your parents hanging around at your party, or even worse, planning it for you. Seems his mother and father got into a fight about it themselves, his father taking his side instead of his mother's." Mike could believe that. Though they were always careful to keep it behind closed doors, he knew the two were having a problem, and that their disagreements were getting worse. He thought back to his own teen years when his parents got their divorce. "Anyway the upshot of it all, they're going away for the weekend to try to sort things out. I gather from Aaron their marriage is a bit rocky at the moment." Mike nodded knowingly. It was worse than he suspected Aaron or certainly Lance knew, but he wasn't one to go telling stories, especially about those who employed him.

"So it's just Aaron and his sisters."

"Hey what sort of party could you have with your sisters hanging around?" Lance asked with a grin. "They'd sort of cramp his style, if you know what I mean."

Mike could understand that too. When he was fifteen getting into the panties of one of his classmates was a major fantasy and a seven day a week goal. It was also a source of frustration. He'd been brought up to respect the opposite sex, to protect them and cherish them. Getting them in the sack ran flat up against those beliefs, yet that was what all his buddies were after, and his hormones were just as rampant as theirs. Besides, that was what society said teenage boys were supposed to do. He could identify with Aaron, the teenager having been raised with the same high Christian values as him but daily flaunting his body and looks to throngs of screaming twinks and teens. They'd talked about the promo pictures he was taking promoting that sultry, teenage sexuality, and he had seen the look of desire in the teenage boy's eyes, and the deeper look of guilt. Aaron had a difficult time establishing relationships as it was, being on the road so much, and having so little free time when he wasn't. He could identify with that too. It seemed like he'd no sooner establish a group of friends and his dad would get transferred and they'd have to pick up and move. That was one of the reasons for the ultimate divorce of his parents.

It had also been around that time that Mike had begun having thoughts about other guys, out of pure horniness he'd figured at the time, besides natural curiosity, though there were days when he wondered if it was more purposeful, if it was in the hopes that by having sex he'd be able to establish a connection with at least one close friend, even if it was a guy. He'd rejected that reason. That was not his way, to use other people. That was another way he could identify with Aaron, his teenage horniness. It seemed like lately that sex was all that Aaron had on his mind. It had even gotten to the point where he'd begun to imagine Aaron was coming on to him. Of course he had quickly rejected that as being ridiculous. He was twice the boy's age, and if Aaron was considering messing around with guys, which he doubted, there were plenty of hot young guys to choose from. Take Jesse McCartney for example. The day he'd accompanied Aaron out to New York and he'd watched the handsome young singer perform, he'd felt a twinge of desire for him himself.

Things had actually gotten to the point with the way Aaron seemed to be flirting with him and going all googly eyed over Jesse that he'd even wondered if Aaron was gay, but he quickly slapped himself for having such thoughts. He was a kid, fourteen. What did a fourteen-year-old kid know about being gay? Then when Aaron also invited Billy Gilman to the New York concert that convinced him how wrong he'd been. Aaron was just being the kind heart that he was, which Mike could identify with too.

Actually that had been one of the things that had drawn him to Lance over the other members of N'Sync. Lance was like that, kind and considerate. One of the nicknames the band had for him was Poofoo, referring to a job he'd once had in which he'd dressed up as a dog character by that name to promote a children's book. That was what Lance was like, a big, loyal, cuddly dog. Now, speaking of fantasies Mike shook his head. Best not to go down that road, even though it was one he knew very well, and was causing him great dismay because it brought him such joy. That was a relationship that could never be.

"So anyway, with everyone gone it would be an excellent opportunity to discuss the video. Aaron has his close buddy down for the day, Jesse McCartney. He's into acting and singing so the four of us could brainstorm. I'm sure Jesse would have some ideas about what could be done. He's young and would know what young people like. Besides, some of the stuff they did when he was with Dream Street was pretty creative."

"And provocative," Mike observed, that being one of the reasons for the split between the producers and the boys' parents, the main one according to the parents though the courts ultimately hadn't agreed.

"Yeah, but I don't have to tell you of all people that sex sells."

"True. And speaking of sex, they're leaving two teenage boys home alone, unsupervised?"

"Of course not. Jesse's mother will be coming down with him."

That was true, and had been the saving factor in the entire plan. Monday morning Aaron had approached his parents about Nick taking him and Jesse water skiing and then he and Jesse spending the evening out on the beach. Both were rejected flat out by his mother, the first being too risky and she wasn't having any lawsuit from the McCartney's if Jesse got hurt, and she'd said the latter without any supervision was asking for trouble. Of course that ended up with a major argument with Aaron asking if she wanted to plan his party for him and his mother retorting that she'd planned plenty of his parties and he hadn't had any problem with them. That was when his dad observed that now that Aaron was going to be fifteen he would probably like a little space, at which point the argument switched over to them and who was the responsible parent and who should decide how much space he should be given.

The first idea became a moot point when Nick got a call that evening and announced he had to be out of town that Saturday, and could not get out of it. His plans totally ruined, Aaron threw up his arms and said he might just as well not have a party at all, to which his mother said was fine with her, which got her and Robert fighting all over again about just what her concerns were about Aaron as a parent. Aaron stormed off to his room and slammed the door behind him, but as the fight continued he wished he'd headed to his private studio where he would have been able to block out the screaming match between his parents. He was about to do so when he heard the outer door slam and someone tear off down the drive, probably his father. The silence didn't help. It just made it easier to think.

That night he had turned and twisted half the night in disappointment and anger with his dashed hopes, besides being upset with his parent's bickering and Nick's guilt about not being there on Saturday, which wasn't his fault but which his brother felt bad about anyway. The two of them were close, closer than they were with their sisters, probably closer than his sisters were with each other. He finally turned to his other fantasy, the birthday party with Mike, in a desperate attempt to find something pleasant to think about. It helped, and he finally drifted off to sleep.

To his surprise things turned out better than he could have planned the next day, with his parents finally deciding that they had to get away by themselves to sort out their differences. In that Jesse's mother was coming down to the Keys with him for that weekend as a treat to herself and to do a bit of Christmas shopping and had been invited to stay at the Carters, the boys would not be left alone, and in that it would just be the two of them, Aaron not having invited anyone else and his sisters opting to spend Saturday night with friends to give the boys some space, while it would be unusual it would not be an imposition on her. After checking things out with Jesse's mother to be sure she'd be all right with that and with sincere apologies, things were set. That part. That night Aaron phoned Lance about arranging the other part.

Hearing back from Lance that things were a go at his end, Aaron was in high spirits when he connected up with Jesse for their usual Wednesday chat. When he discussed his idea about having a bit of fun with Mike, Jesse thought it was wild, even wilder than Aaron's fourteenth birthday which Aaron had told him about, and observed that it was too bad the others couldn't join them for the fun, or the Brewster brothers he'd told Aaron about who would have devised just such a scheme themselves. That Aaron thought was a wicked idea, but he knew if he invited any others over his parents would cancel their plans and insist on staying home to supervise.

He did dare to ask if he could invite one of them, David Gallagher. He was the one out of the three who'd been at his last birthday party whom he figured would be daring enough to join them in such a venture, especially considering his invention of the jerking machine he'd gifted Aaron with a year ago. Besides, it would be difficult inviting Justin without inviting Frankie, and having two extra guests would be pushing it. His father readily agreed to his request, and having met David and finding him a very pleasant and courteous young man, the type of role model she'd like for Aaron, and the show he was staring in being one of those decent family shows unlike most of the vulgarity on television, so did his mother. Actually, the two saw their agreement as being the first step in the discussions they had to have that weekend. Although it was already Thursday, when Aaron phoned David and told him his plans, he was ready to drive out to the Keys that very moment. Being almost eighteen and having his own car, he didn't need any special clearances from his parents nor to make any special arrangements.

When the McCartneys arrived the next afternoon, Aaron was flying high, something he'd never expected that stormy Monday at the beginning of the week. Of course swinging from the very depths of despair to the very height of ecstasy was nothing unusual for him, like any teenager, and the three adults knew full well what that was like, from their own experiences, and from having teenage children. That their two boys were happy at the moment was good enough for them. Jesse and Aaron were particularly happy, and the two boys sneaked off to a secluded spot on the beach for some kissing and cuddling while the adults visited. The saying that absence makes the heart grow fonder was certainly true for them. It also made their dicks grow harder, but they decided to restrain themselves for the big celebration the next night. That took supreme effort on both of their parts, especially as they began thinking of things that they could do once their surprise guest had been delivered.

That night a call from David almost derailed the plans once again. He'd phoned to ask if Aaron would mind if he brought along a friend of his. He said he knew that was being forward, but he'd thought about Aaron's plans, and well, that Aaron would have Jesse, whom he knew Aaron was in love with, and that he'd feel like a third wheel without someone else there. He assured Aaron that the guy was cool, and that there would be no problem with going ahead with Aaron's plans, and that the guy was particularly hot-looking besides.

Of course Aaron could have said no, but David did have a point, and besides, he thought with a chuckle, when did he ever turn down an opportunity to meet another hot guy, or maybe even do something more than meet him? Besides, it was not his nature to turn down a request from a friend. Nor was it his nature to outwardly lie to his parents, or to hide things from them well, no more than any teenage guy did anyway. He could have kept David's request a secret and avoided what he knew was going to happen, but he was not that type of son.

As he expected, both his parents immediately responded that was asking too much of Jesse's mother, and no matter what Aaron had said, he had to phone David back and tell him it was not okay. Again each was secretly pleased that the other had agreed on the response. Also as he'd expected, Jesse's mom said one extra boy was no big deal, and besides, in her experience when there were three in a group one always left felt out, while four made a nice even number. In the end, to Aaron's relief his parents agreed with Jesse's mother. Aaron and Jesse didn't get much sleep that night as they plotted the next night's activities.

That Saturday they had a special birthday breakfast, complete with birthday cake and presenting of gifts. The chain necklace from Jesse and the bandana and matching shirt from Nick he especially treasured. Nick headed off right after that, and after lunch his parents headed out, leaving their number of course if they had to be contacted. Shortly afterward, David and his friend, A.J. Trauth, arrived, bearing gifts from the two of them, a self-made recording of some of AJ's music and an expensive Italian leather wallet (which David whispered to Aaron contained an Italian leather thong he could demonstrate later). Aaron of course protested that he'd told David no gifts.

While Jesse's mom headed off shopping for the afternoon, the four boys headed for the public beach in Marathon for some innocent fun and to get acquainted. The four of them being extroverted and confident of themselves, and the four of them having a common connection as entertainers, they were soon laughing and joking around as if they were old friends.

David explained how he'd heard about this new hot band called Badge playing in the LA clubs and had gone one night to hear them, and was so impressed, especially with the guitar player he said with a look at AJ, he went backstage to meet them after their performance. That was how he'd met AJ and over the following months they'd become good friends. Since then the band had added a new member and in October had changed their name to Mavin.

He had been right about AJ being a hottie. With full, thick, long blond hair sweeping over his ears and constantly falling in strands over his eyes, which were narrow and a gorgeous green, and the muscular arms and chest of a gymnast though he claimed he didn't work out, the five foot nine, hundred and forty pound sixteen-year-old caught the eye of everyone on the beach. Besides playing guitar in the band, he was an actor, playing the part of Alan Twitty on the hit Disney Channel show "Even Stevens". Despite his busy schedule, he had time for his hobbies, which included surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, wake boarding, and writing music and film making. With his interest in acting and film making he'd become good friends with David over the past six months, and of course he immediately struck up a conversation with Jesse, having admired his portrayal of Adam Chandler in "All My Children" and knowing him from his time with the Dream Street band.

While they were so engaged, Aaron took David aside and asked just how well David knew AJ. David of course knew what Aaron was asking, and told him that while they'd never done anything sexually together, and as far as he could tell AJ was straight, he certainly had no hangups about gay sex or gays, a topic which David had brought up on his own fishing expeditions since meeting him. He also figured by his personality, once he found out the evening's entertainment, he would willingly go along with it. He also confessed that he was hoping that this evening would open the door for himself to get to know AJ more intimately. He also admitted he'd begun seeing a hot teenage actress, Megan Fox, and that he'd had some wild jackoff fantasies about her, but that didn't mean he didn't still have an interest in hot looking guys.

Not totally reassured that AJ was going to be cool with what he had in mind, Aaron decided that he'd better do some of his own investigation. Rejoining the other two who were still in an animated discussion, Jesse and AJ having really struck it off, he sat down beside Jesse and put his arm about him.

"So, what are you two talking about, love?"

Jesse looked at Aaron in surprise. He had never used that phrase except when they were alone. "AJ's music. He's written some cool stuff."

"Yeah? I'd love to hear some of it," Aaron said, adding as he drew Jesse closer, "but I'd better warn you, you better not be making any moves on Jesse here."

"Oh, I'm not, I assure you," AJ chuckled uncomfortably as he darted a glance at David. He looked back at Aaron sitting there with his arm about Jesse's waist. "So, ah, like, you two, well, are good friends?"

"Oh, very good friends," Aaron said, squeezing Jesse's hand. "You have any problem with that?"

"Hey, no! Not at all! I'm an open-minded type of guy. Just surprised, that's all."

"Why?"

"Well, you're fifteen today, right?"

"Yeah."

"Well, that's sort of young, to, well, you know."

"Hey, Aaron's precocious that way. Well, to tell the truth, he just discovered sex recently. He's trying to make up lost time," David said with a twinkle in his eyes. "So, he and Jesse might be lovers, but I wouldn't go bending over in front of him."

"Funny," Aaron responded, making a face at David. He was about to say AJ had better not bend over in front of David also, but decided that might be revealing things David wasn't prepared for so early in the day.

"Besides, guys aren't usually so open about liking other guys where I'm from."

"That's Aaron, honest as the salt of the earth," Jesse said, not without too much exaggeration in his admiration.

"Oh, I thought you were going to say that's Aaron, can't keep a secret," joked David, to which the boys laughed.

"Speaking of sex, and keeping secrets, that girl you're seeing is one hottie, and the clothes she wears don't hide much," observed AJ, glancing at David with a grin as he gestured by cupping his hands before his chest.

"Oh yeah, she is that," David agreed. "But hey, when you have it, you might as well flaunt it. And before you ask, no, we're not doing anything of that sort of thing that you're thinking. Not yet anyway," he added with a grin.

"What about you AJ? You seeing a girl? A guy?"

"No," he chuckled, "neither. Nobody special."

"Just your hand, eh?"

"Yeah, 'fraid so," he responded with an uncomfortable chuckle as he began to turn red.

"Thanks to evolution for giving us opposable thumbs or we'd all be uptight nut cases," David observed, and they all laughed.

"Well, it's starting to get late. We'd better head back."

AJ seemed the type of guy who didn't hold any biases toward gays, but Aaron still wasn't sure he was that tolerant to accept what he had in mind later that evening. He'd like to have probed further, but it was getting late, and they had a tight schedule to follow. They had a simple supper, Aaron's mother having made a salad and having left them the fixings for tacos. During the meal Jesse slipped his mother the sleeping pills. She'd begun taking them regularly during the stress of the Dream Street breakup, and though she rarely did anymore, she still kept a supply in the bathroom, giving Jesse easy access to them. It was also how he knew how many to give her to knock her out for the night. By the end of the meal, they were already beginning to take effect. Observing that it must be the Florida heat, or she'd outdone herself shopping, she excused herself shortly after they'd put the dishes in the dishwasher and headed off to lie down. The boys headed off to the private beach in the Carter compound to watch the sunset, AJ taking his guitar along by the insistence of the others.

Leaving the house was all part of the plan, and things were right on schedule. As the boys were heading to the beach, Lance was pulling into Marathon with Mike and Jeremy London, having picked Jeremy up from his hotel room on the way. Lance and Jeremy were not exactly close friends but they had crossed paths several times at various celebrity functions, and had several interests in common. For one Lance had played a short guest role in Seventh Heaven a year ago and Jeremy had been just signed on that fall for the seventh season to play the character Chandler Hampton after five years of playing Griffin Holbrook in the TV series "Party of Five." For another, Jeremy had a professional interest in music, playing drums and guitar with his twin brother and fellow actor Jason. The two were interested in producing a CD, and so Lance had introduced them to Mike since Mike knew the right people to get in contact with, and he knew Mike was looking for extra work with N'Sync going on a hiatus.

So, although they were not good friends, they were more than passing acquaintances, and Lance knew Jeremy well enough to know he'd see the humour in playing a prank on Mike, and that Jeremy knew Mike well enough to know he enjoyed a good prank himself. Mike was of course surprised to see Jeremy on the east coast, but he knew that Jeremy and Lance knew each other, and Jeremy's explanation that he had a few days off and had decided to do some golfing in Miami was logical. Men in his position didn't think twice about hopping a jet and flying across the continent for a game of golf or a night out.

Pretending to be surprised to find the house in darkness, Lance observed that they couldn't be far away if they left the door unlocked and suggested they go inside and surprise Aaron upon his return. As they slipped into the darkened house, Mike assumed they were heading for the living room or down to the family room so followed Lance down the hall to the far end of the house. To his surprise, Lance stopped at one of the several guest rooms and ushered him inside. To his even greater surprise, Lance grabbed one arm and Jason the other and the two half carried and half-dragged him over to the bed. Tossing him onto his back, they quickly tied his wrists and ankles to the four corners of the old-fashioned bed with the nylon ropes that Aaron had left there.

"What is this?" he asked for the fifth time as the two men stepped back.

"James Michael Ryan, you are in for a surprise," Lance observed with a grin.

"A birthday surprise," added Jason with a smile also.

"What is this?" he asked again, this time with a smile himself. Being with friends and the two of them standing there and smiling, he knew that he was the victim of some sort of prank. That seemed to be the in thing to do lately in Hollywood, especially among the rich and famous.

"Oh, you'll find out," Lance said. Asking Jeremy to check if Aaron was coming yet, he knelt down beside the bound man the second the door closed and quickly pulled down his captive's fly.

"Hey! What do ."

"Shhhh," Lance said, placing a finger across his lips. "Just one last little detail." Mike just lay there, too shocked by what Lance did next to even speak. "Your wildest dreams and deepest wishes are about to become true tonight," Lance said with a smile as he got to his feet and headed for the door. "Just lay back and enjoy."

"Hey, where are you going! You can't just leave me here! Hey!"

As he lay there in the dark, Mike tried to recall exactly what Lance had said, and everything they'd done since that moment Lance had told him Aaron wanted him to do a video. Surely this wasn't part of the video. He'd said they wanted him to produce it and promote it, not be in it. Besides, what Lance had just done before he left couldn't be in any music video. Well, not one for the general public anyway, not even with the coarse standards being set by the rappers these days, and especially not with a fifteen-year-old boy in it. Another idea flashed though his mind. Surely they weren't thinking of that kind of video! They were both on the wild side, but they'd never do something like that! This just made no sense.

Mike tried to focus. What had Lance meant about his wildest dreams and deepest wishes? There was no way Lance would know what he'd been thinking and fantasizing about regarding Aaron, and if he did, he wouldn't be helping see those dreams realized. He'd more likely declare that he'd want nothing more to do with him, and warn him to drop his contract with the Carters and not to get within a hundred miles of Aaron or himself ever again. That would be what Lance Bass would do if he knew his deepest, darkest thoughts.

But of course Lance couldn't know those thoughts. He'd never told a soul about those fantasies. So what could it be? Could Aaron have suspected? He doubted that, but then he was a bright boy, and observant. God, suppose Aaron did suspect that he, that he couldn't really think he was a but if he did, he'd be so but from what Lance had just done before he'd left, that would mean Aaron would . Despite his total confusion and jumble of thoughts, positive and negative, and despite being tied spread eagled to a bed in his young client's house, James Michael Ryan felt his dick begin to stir as he thought about the possibilities.
