Ok, sorry it has taken me so long to finish this. I had computer problems. I decided to give you the rest of the story in one big piece.

This is for adults. If you are not supposed to read it, don't.

One more time, this is fiction, none of this happened. Any resemblance to people living or dead, blah, blah, blah, yackety shmakety.

Part 8

I went to work on a Wednesday and rushed to his apartment as soon as I got off. I found him reading in his bed. He was fully dressed including his shoes. I asked if he had been out.

"I went for a walk. I got a few things done. I mailed a few letters." He jumped up from the bed and walked to the refrigerator. He opened the door and showed me a bottle of champagne. "I am feeling better, and I thought we could have a nice dinner." I grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him close.

"You are too good to me," I purred and then kissed him deeply. He pulled at my shirt and forced it over my head. I pulled at the buttons on his shirt and he shrugged it off. I grabbed the sides of his face and pulled him in for another kiss. He reached down and unbuttoned my pants. I kicked off my shoes as we franticly pulled at each other's clothes. We stumbled to the bed and fell together onto the duvet. We entwined our bodies, trying to touch every part we could. It had been days since we had sex, and it was showing.

"Fuck me! Fuck me hard," I growled into his ear in between licks to his neck. He rolled me over and held me down. I struggled briefly to make it more interesting. He loomed over me and leaned down for another kiss. He licked down my neck and found one of my nipples. He nibbled and licked at my nipple as I felt it harden. He worked his way down my belly and licked at my navel. I bucked a little at this very ticklish spot. He held me down harder. He rubbed his face on my underwear covered crotch. He sucked on my cock through the cotton fabric. He finally let me go long enough to pull of my shorts.

"Please, please fuck me now," I moaned. Mitch just smiled and continued at his task. I was very hard and ready for his mouth. He teased me by licking the tip of my cock and then pulling away. I was about to burst as I begged him to finish me off.

"Not yet, lover," he growled. He licked my cock and then plunged down onto it. I felt it go down his throat in one swift move. I could feel my orgasm build. He sucked for all he was worth, massaging my balls with one hand and pinching a nipple with the other. I moaned loudly as my dick swelled and the cum spurted into his mouth. I shot five or six times and he swallowed every drop. I collapsed, out of breath onto the bed. Mitch fell next to me and kissed me on my neck. I turned my head and kissed him on the mouth, searching with my tongue to find the taste of my own cum.

I began to breathe at a regular pace, and ran my hands down Mitch's smooth body. He grabbed my hand and pushed it back on the bed. He moved down my body again, toward my groin.

"It's your turn," I laughed.

"I know," he said with a wink. He moved below my balls and licked at my ass. I loved the feel of his tongue exploring my pucker. He worked at is for a few minutes, bringing me back up to a slow simmer. I reached for the lotion and playfully hit him with it. He looked up and smiled.

"I can take a hint." He took the lotion and rubbed some into my hole and then lubed his cock. He sat down on the bed and then pulled me up so that we were facing each other. "Move over and let me straighten out." I moved over and he put his legs straight towards the pillow. "Now straddle me." I did as I was told. He pulled his knees up and sat almost cross legged with his feet behind me. My legs were bent with my feet behind him. He reached under my ass and picked me up and set me down on his cock. I slid down his shaft and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I like this position," I whispered into his ear. Why haven't we done it before?"

"I save it for special occasions." We rocked back and forth slowly holding each other tight. We kissed and hugged and nibbled each other. I felt him start to move a little faster. I began to pivot a little on his cock. He moaned in my ear, telling me I was doing the right thing. I felt his dick swell in my ass. I rocked harder and pivoted faster. His fingers dug into my back. He grunted a few times and then groaned loudly as he filled me with his seed. We held each other closely and hugged until he stopped shuddering.

We laid together kissing and holding each other. I loved my man so much. I never wanted to let him go. I had to eventually, as we both had to use the bathroom. We climbed out of bed and ran for the toilet. We stood together peeing into the toilet, crossing our streams and laughing. We walked to the kitchen for some of that food he had promised. He had actually picked up some food from a take out place down the street. He is not the best cook in the world, and he wanted the meal to be special. We sat nude at the dinner table and played footsy. Half way through the meal Mitch remembered the champagne. I offered to go get it, but he insisted.

I watched his naked ass disappear into the kitchen. I thought of what a wonderful time we were having, but the thought that these moments are fleeting invaded my mind. Mitch returned from the kitchen with two glasses of champagne. He handed me one and cleared his throat.

"To a perfect evening," he said and then reached over so that we could clink glasses. I smiled and sipped the champagne. I had never been one for wine, but I loved champagne. "Hey, drink up, I have a whole bottle in there loosing its fizz." I smiled and drank it down. He poured me another glass and we moved back into the bedroom. I lay down on the bed and looked up at my beautiful man.

"I love you," I said.

"I love you, too," he replied. That is the last thing I remembered until the next morning.

Part 9

I woke up very groggy, the next morning. I was alone in bed, and wondered where Mitch could be. It was daylight and I was sure I was late for work. I rolled out of bed and looked around for my clothes. I found them neatly folded and placed on a chair. As I began to dress, I realized that the room looked strange. I looked around and noted that things were missing. The art on the walls were gone, along with everything from the side tables. I ran to the bathroom, and it was also empty. I looked into the living room and kitchen. The only thing that remained was the furniture. I noticed a piece of paper hanging on the door. Reality set in, and I felt ill.

I hesitantly moved to the door, and pulled the paper from the thumb tack that held it. I could tell it was Mitch's hand writing, but tears barred me from reading it. I sat down in a nearby chair and wiped the tears from my eyes. I held the paper up to my face and tried to read.

Dear Brendan,

I have gone. Do not look for me. I can not let you watch me die. Tell your mom and dad thanks. Forgive me for the champagne, but I wanted to spend one more night with you.

I love you.

With all my heart,

Mitch

I finished the note and fell to the floor sobbing. When I composed myself again, I reread the note. I read it over and over, hoping that the next time, it would be different. I couldn't believe he had drugged me. I crawled into the bed, hugged his pillow and cried all morning and afternoon. I finally dressed and slowly walked home carrying his pillow with me. When I walked through the door, Mom knew something was wrong. She hugged me and asked what was wrong.

"He left," I whispered as she hugged me. "He went away, so that I couldn't watch him die." I started to cry again, and fell to my knees. Mother knelt beside me and held me while I cried. We stayed there for a long time. We only moved when Dad came in and rushed to our side. Mom told him what happened, and he knelt down and hugged us both. He told us to get up from the floor and go sit on the sofa. I grudgingly rose to my feet. I felt dizzy and collapsed.

I don't know when I woke up. I didn't care at the time. I held the pillow and didn't leave my bed for a week. I didn't care if I lived or died. My love was gone and my life was over. I finally left my room, after a month, and found I had lost my job. Mom understood, but urged me to move on. She suggested I try to get my old job back. I knew I could never work there again. Every piece of chocolate would remind me of him. Mom finally tired of my moping.

"Mitch didn't want you to suffer. He wanted you to go on without him. He is the one dying, not you!" She turned and slammed the door to my room. I heard her crying as she walked down the hall. I know it was hard, but she did what she had to do. I finally started to think about living.

I showered and walked to the library. I found my favorite book of poetry and started to read. The beautiful verses washed over me, failing to take away any of my pain. I checked out the book and walked to the river front. I looked out over the water and remembered the beautiful fireworks. I looked into the water, and thought of throwing myself in. I eventually walked home.

"There is someone here to see you," I heard as I walked in the house. I stopped and turned to the stranger and clutched the book to my chest.

"If you are a counselor, I don't need you. I am going to be fine." I started to turn away.

"I am not a counselor." I stopped and looked back at her. She looked at my mom and she left the room. "I am Mitch's mother." My bottom lip began to tremble and I sat down on the sofa next to her. I dropped the book to the floor.

"Is he ok? Do you know where he is?" Tears filled my eyes but I kept my composure.

"He is home in California," she said, and took my hand. "He passed away two weeks ago." My head began to spin, and I thought I was going to faint. I screamed and fell to the floor crying. She knelt down next to me and stroked my hair. When I finally calmed enough to speak, I asked what happened.

"When he left, he moved back to California. He didn't tell me where he was. He didn't want me to see him die anymore than you." She paused and wiped a tear from her eye. She took a deep breath and continued. "He died at the beach looking out at the ocean. He made all of his own arrangements. He was a smart boy. He had several life insurance policies and one just for the funeral." I sat dazed and tried to absorb what I was being told.

"Well, I came here to deliver a few things. The first thing is a thank you. I want to thank you for loving my son." She smiled and kissed me on the cheek. "The second is a letter from Mitch. He wrote it the day he left you." She handed me a small envelope with my name written on it. I held it gently and then looked back up at her. "The last is a package." She handed me a brown paper package and stood up. "Read the letter first." I stood up with her and walked with her to the door.

"I want to thank you for going to so much trouble."

"It was no trouble, dear. Keep in touch. You are the closest I got to a son in law. If you are ever in San Francisco; look me up." She walked down the steps and started to cry.

I closed the door and ran to my room with the things she brought me. I sat on my bed and stared at the envelope. I finally opened it and began to read.

Dear Brendan,

I have died. I am very sorry I have hurt you. I made a choice and I will live and die with it.

My father died slowly and a little part of my mother died with him. When I found out I was dying, I swore I would not do the same thing to someone I loved.

In the package is a gift for you. I bought it the day before I left. I went out and made all the traveling arrangements and took care of some paperwork. I thought I should take care of you the way you took care of me.

Please do me one more favor. Follow your dreams, fall in love, and never forget me. I will always love you.

With love that will live beyond my days,

Mitch

I read the letter about ten times before my curiosity got the best of me. I opened the package to find a leather-bound book. It was the complete poems of Robert Frost. I clutched it to my chest and cried again. I laid the book on my bed and picked up the large envelope that was with it. I opened the envelope and nearly dropped the documents it contained. It was an insurance claim for one million dollars. My name was written in as the beneficiary. Mitch was taking care of me.

Part 10

I used some of the money and went to college. I always loved books, so I decided to write. I received my degree in literature and started writing. I sold a few short stories and finally wrote a novel. My first novel was a hit and I was on my way. I dedicated it to Mitch for making it possible.

I set up a charity to help fund research into brain tumors. Mitch couldn't be saved, but maybe someone else could.

I bought an interest in the Silverwood Candy Factory. I put my mom and dad on the board. They always loved the company.

Dad passed away a few years later. I stayed in touch with Mitch's mother and visited her when I could. She was there when Danny and I had our commitment ceremony. She sat with Mom, and they cried together.

Danny and I met in my publisher's office. He was an editor and I requested his assistance. A month later we were lovers. We have been together now for five years. I truly love Danny, but I never stopped loving Mitch.
