In Too Deep

If I had to think of my favorite thing to do, it would be writing stories. On the other hand, I you asked me what task I enjoy the least I would choose re-writing. That's my dilemma. I always tried to stay a chapter or two ahead of the game for the purposes of demand and also continuity. Chapter 3 of "In Too Deep" was already written and chapter 4 was well underway.

I'm not saying everything was great in my life before the fire, but in comparison to these last several months I couldn't complain. I suppose I'm lucky actually, I survived it. The old man in the apartment next to mine fell asleep with a cigarette going. The fire spread quickly and though I managed to escape it without more than some singed hair and burns to my hands, none of my things were as fortunate. I can't complain, the other guy lost more than just possessions.

I didn't really think much about the stories for the first few months. I was more concerned with things like food, clothing and shelter. Now that my life is starting to return to normal, I am starting to take stock of the things I lost; photographs, keepsakes and stories.

While my other mementos cannot be replaced, it is possible for me to recreate "In Too Deep" if there is still interest in my doing so. I still remember what I wrote, it's just painstaking to redesign, rather than starting with a blank slate.

At the time there was a fair amount of positive feedback towards James and Aeryk. Is the interest still there or should I start fresh elsewhere?

Chad Prescott.
