Chapter 181
Throughout the meal Enrique and Derek learned the life of Lucas Carver-Belmont.
The young man softly smiled at them, remaining quiet, seeing to everyone's needs for food and happiness during the meal.
The two new visitors showed shocked wonder in their eyes, remaining silent as Lucas' life unfolded before them.
Lucas was seated beside his Josh, little Joshua asleep in Josh's lap, Josh trying to eat dinner.
Everyone voiced their happiness at the delicious food, Colton beaming widely, Enrique and Derek smiling at him.
They saw the happiness of the three young men seated together, their hands going into each other's often.
They saw the greater happiness on Haras' handsome Egyptian face, the two enthralled by his true identity.
"I can't believe that. That you're. . .that you're from ancient Egypt! The real ancient Egypt!" Enrique had said with awed wonder, Derek's arm around him, dinner mostly over.
"I lived in that time, yes. I am greater alive in this time." Haras said, smiling at his two soulmates, his hand in Jonathan's, Colton's arm around him.
"Are you. . .are you one of those Shades?" Enrique asked, Lucas smiling at him.
"Haras is alive and real, Enrique. He is not a Shade. He is a young man who's been given a second chance at happiness and life. My magic will always react to the love it senses in me. It sensed what I wanted to give Haras." Lucas said, Haras smiling at him with deep love and thanks.
"It is a new life I shall cherish. It is smothered in love." he smiled, Colton kissing his cheek.
"He is the rider in the chariot of our one soul. Jonah and I are the horses of his love, pulling him through life and love."
Haras smiled, kissing both young men.
'A warranted analogy, my stallions of love." he winked, both beaming, Lucas smiling at all three.
"Careful, boys. You'll get Finn and Alain going. They think they're the only well-endowed." he said, others laughing, Finn and Alain blushing, their mates kissing their cheeks.
Haras laughed, Lucas smiling at him, his violet eyes meeting Derek's and Enrique's softly awed pools.
"Your life is even more amazing than Haras', Lucas. The magic, the path you've walked! Being shot three times, surviving paralysis and the awed destiny of you and your family. It's a tale of unbelievable amazement." Enrique said, Lucas smiling at him.
"It is my life, Enrique. I walk the path I was guided onto. The greatest truth on that path is the love I've found on it. Beginning with my Josh's." Lucas smiled, kissing his man's lips, Josh smiling at him with love.
"I am surrounded by love. My own family's and the family I've now created. My Josh, my Justin, my Lance and my two sons of love." Lucas smiled, everyone seeing the love shining on his handsome, youthful face.
Justin now held little Joshua, Lance holding little Justin, both sound asleep, both finished dinner, Josh finishing his.
"Your giving heart makes that love well deserved." Derek said, Lucas smiling at him.
"We all deserve and earn love by our own giving hearts, Derek. Your Enrique knows the greatness of your heart. As do I, new friend of destiny."
Everyone looked with confusion at Lucas, Enrique kissing his man's cheek.
"His heart is mine, as mine is his." Enrique said, Lucas smiling at him.
"It's Luke, guys."
"And I'm Rico, Luke." Enrique smiled, Derek's eyes on Lucas.
"I welcome both of you into my inner circle, my friends. For I see in you the destiny of my soul." Lucas said, Josh looking at his soulmate, the man now finished his meal, Lucas smiling at him.
"My life is a path of destiny, my love. All those of that destiny walk onto it and feel my love." Lucas smiled, his violet pools looking around the patio.
"Meaning what, Luke?" Finn said, the Welshman staring at his friend.
Lucas smiled, looking around the patio again, his violet pools looking at Colton, the young man smiling at him, Haras' brown pools staring at Lucas as well.
"You need only look at Colton and Haras to see their joining with the path. And Harry as well." Lucas said, the three men looking at him.
"Colton and Harry are my family, a family hidden behind the past and the mysteries of my Carlisle lineage. And Haras is a soldier of devoted love, standing by my late, great ancestor Alsarius Belgarus. Last uncrowned Pharaoh of Egypt." Lucas said, Derek staring at him with surprise.
Haras' eyes showed surprise as well, Lucas smiling at him.
"Alsarius would have been crowned Pharaoh by the people of Egypt, Haras. Their devotion--as you yourself saw--was total for him. His loving, courageous, giving soul had endeared a nation to him. Destiny and magic robbed him of that honor."
Haras nodded his head, staring at Lucas.
"He was a man of great courage and strength for all of us, Luke. The people loved him like no other. The warriors of his cause would have followed him to hell's gate."
Lucas smiled at the young soldier, the Egyptian seeing the love in his shining now emerald green pools.
Enrique and Derek stared at the young man with surprise, taking in his emerald orbs.
"He felt your devotion, Haras. All warriors of his army and guard were held in high regard to him. Brothers under one truth. Fighters for the rights of life and love. You and two others gave your lives for him down in that dark tomb of his destiny."
"We loved him, Lucas. We would--and did--fight to our last breath. We were all robbed of our lives by that evil." Haras said, everyone seeing the devotion and love in his golden brown eyes.
"Devotion and valour can claim the most courageous hearts. Love can claim even more. Alsarius was well loved." Lucas said, Josh's hand squeezing his.
"You love's being mysterious again, my love. We all sense you're alluding to something." he said, Lucas smiling at him.
"My life is a mystery, my love. I've almost reasoned it all out. I just have to find the truth in the two who watch me."
"The two Watchers?" Andrew said, Lucas nodding.
"You've reasoned one out as being the being that Joshua knew as Almira Carlisle. A being of magic who's walked through the Belmont path many times." Lance said, Lucas smiling at him, little Justin asleep in his arms.
"Correct, Lance. A being of magic and love. A love that flowed from an original source." Lucas said, his now green eyes looking around at everyone, Enrique staring at him with silent awed wonder, Derek looking at him with quiet reverence.
"I am myself, everyone. I feel magic and love as it walks on my path. I felt Colton's the day I walked into Westonshire. I felt Harry's the moment he walked upon the beach at Embrace Island, the first day we met. I felt Haras' giving love following me in the soul of Myles."
Colton and Haras both smiled at Lucas.
"My magic is nothing against yours, Lucas." Colton said, Lucas smiling at him.
"Your magic is strong, Colton. As you now know Haras' love is strong. Both of you have my love returned. As do you, cousin of my heart. " Lucas said, Harry smiling at him.
"How long have you known?" Haras said, Lucas smiling at him, everyone watching the young Egyptian.
"That you are of magic as well? Since the first moment I sensed you and your love. Your love is laced with magic as are Colton's and Harry's."
Everyone looked surprised, Finn staring at Lucas.
"Why would Haras have magic, Luke? He isn't of your family. He was of the time of Alsarius' greatness, but he wasn't family." he said, Lucas nodding.
"Yes, Finny. He isn't family. But he is of Alsarius' love. He loved my ancestor to his soul. And that soul gave the ultimate sacrifice. And he was in the room of Kurucu's Truth."
Everyone looked confused, Lance staring at Lucas.
"That Egyptian tomb? Where Alsarius met his end?"
Lucas' green pools looked around at everyone.
"Yes, Lance. I've now visited that treasure room myself."
Everyone looked surprised, Josh's body going erect beside Lucas.
"Our own treasures need their beds, my love." Lucas said, looking at little Joshua asleep in Justin's lap.
"We'll take them up." Karen said, Lisa nodding, Lucas smiling at both.
The two women traded looks with their husbands, knowing they'd fill them in on what they'd miss.
"Thanks, Grammas." he smiled, the two smiling at him, picking up the sleeping infants, walking into the house, all eyes on Lucas.
"You've. . .you've been to that tomb?" Finn said, staring at his friend with surprise.
"Yes, Finny. I found the answer to the key's lock." Lucas said, everyone staring at him.
"The key of magic you were given?" Lance said, Lucas nodding.
"That silver key unlocks the path of destiny, my friends. I found the door to my past."
Josh's arm went around Lucas, the young man smiling at him.
"That room consumed your ancestor, Lucky. There was a monster there." Josh said, Lucas nodding.
"I know, my love. But it wasn't there when I visited. It's evil and needs to be summoned." Lucas said, looking towards the pool, everyone quietly staring at him.
"Why. . .how. . .why would you go there? It sounds so dangerous." Justin said, Lucas sighing.
"I went there to find the magic I needed. The magic you all needed." Lucas said, everyone looking confused.
"The magic of his love. I felt it laced within the treasures."
Lucas hand moved, raising his Josh's hand, staring at the ring he wore, the same ring his two other soulmates wore.
"These rings came from that room? They're of magic?" Lance said, Lucas nodding his head.
"Magic, yes. But love more. The two together are the protection you needed." he said, everyone staring at the rings.
Lucas' hand went to the stone hanging around his throat, everyone seeing the golden ring on his finger.
"The pendant and the ring. They are from there as well!" Colton said, Lucas smiling at him.
"The ring, yes. The stone only once visited there." he said, Lance staring at Lucas.
"Alsarius wore it down into that tomb. Kavinus' gift of love a part of him."
"Yes, Lance. I've reasoned out what that room is."
"What is it, Luke?" Justin asked, everyone sensing the same need within themselves.
Rosa Sharon rose from her seat, the young girl climbing up into Lucas' lap, Lucas smiling into her blue eyes.
"It is a room of hidden goodness, Dad." she said, Lucas smiling at her.
Everyone looked surprised, Lucas kissing her forehead.
"Yes, little voyager of love."
She smiled, snuggling against Lucas' chest, her hand going around the stone pendant.
"It glows with love, Dad."
Colton stared at the ring on Lucas' finger, his eyes meeting his sister's.
"You've been in that room, Rosy! That's where you found the ring! The ring you gave me, which I in turn gave to Luke!" he said, the little girl smiling at him.
"The Watcher showed me the way in, Colt. I felt the goodness surrounding me. I never felt the evil. He asked me to retrieve the ring." she said, Lucas smiling at her.
"This doesn't make sense, Luke. What would goodness be doing in that place? I felt no goodness down there. The evil in that room I remember was all-consuming." Haras said, Jonathan's and Colton's arms around him.
Lucas sighed, looking at the young Egyptian.
"Come here, Haras. I want to show you the love and truth around us." Lucas said, the Egyptian's eyes meeting Colton's and then Jonathan's.
"Lucas' love is real, Haras. It won't hurt you." Colton said, Lucas smiling at the young man.
Haras rose from his seat, walking around the table, Josh rising from his seat.
The two traded places, Josh sitting down beside the two young men of Haras' heart.
Lucas' hand went to the Egyptian's shoulder, Haras staring into his green eyes.
"What did you feel the moment you walked into Kurucu's chamber that first time, Haras?"
Haras' eyes looked around, everyone staring at him.
"I felt silence, Luke. I felt total silence. Calm, unending silence. It was in all ways a tomb. I believe it had been that silent for a long time." he said, Lucas nodding.
"For eons it perhaps was, Haras. The silence of trapped reality. Of trapped destiny."
"What do you mean, Luke?" Haras said, Lucas staring at him.
"You walked into two different chambers, Haras. The first visit was to an indeed silent tomb. You ran back into the same room later, fleeing the evilness that had consumed Hemi and Tesla in the corridor."
"The second moment I ran into that room I felt the smothering evil. It hadn't been there before." he said, Lucas nodding, looking around at everyone.
"For all intents and purposes let's call that room a treasure room. A room filled with golden treasures. Treasures collected by someone."
Everyone nodded, staring at Lucas with quiet wonder.
"An amassed fortune of evil's hand. Why didn't we listen to Alsarius?! He saw the truth!" Haras said, lowering his head.
"Yes, he saw, and felt the truth. And he warned you." Lucas said, staring at the Egyptian.
"But Hemi didn't listen! He took that ring, that cursed ring. Even after Alsarius told us to touch nothing. He sealed our doom!"
Lucas sighed, kissing Haras' cheek.
"No, Haras. Hemi didn't seal your doom. Your doom was sealed even before you ventured down into that tomb."
Everyone looked surprised, Lucas staring towards the pool.
Haras' face wore a look of confusion and shock.
"That room is and always was a trap. A trap sprung for a concise reason. Alsarius was lured into the trap, you four following him with courage and love. There was never any way that you could have stopped what happened."
"That is impossible, Lucas! We could have been free if we'd all only listened to Alsarius! Hemi didn't listen!" Haras said, staring at the young man with emotion.
"No, my friend. Hemi's loyalty to Alsarius was as total as yours. Hemi didn't do that deed on his own. He was the first victim of the silent magic down in that tomb. The magic possessed him and made him take the ring. For the treasures there are the conjurors of the trap. Taking anything releases the hidden evil. Someone made Hemi take the ring to seal all your fates. To trap Alsarius within its grasp."
"I don't understand, Lucas." Haras said, Lucas smiling at him.
"All those treasures that you looked upon, their golden beauty so consuming. They are not treasures of golden wealth and power." Lucas said, Haras staring at him with surprise.
"It was a vast treasure trove, Luke. There was a massive wealth there. Alsarius could have been the wealthiest man in the world." he said, Lucas shaking his head no.
"No, Haras. Alsarius saw the truth before any of you. They are not the spoils of some powerful, wealthy, lost Pharaoh or king. They are treasures of magic and goodness. Items that magic and evil have stolen and consumed for eons. All the ancient artefacts of our faith, history and world."
Everyone looked shocked, staring at Lucas.
"A treasure trove of goodness?" Lance said, Lucas nodding.
"I walked into that silent room only once, to retrieve the goodness and magic that I needed. I saw a lot of artefacts of unbelievable truth around me." he said, Justin staring at him with awed wonder.
"What. . .what did. . .what did you see?" he softly said, everyone staring at Lucas.
"I looked upon many artefacts of ancient wonder. I saw a golden chalice, its quaint beauty resembling the cup of a faithful carpenter. And I saw a square box of engraved golden truth, images of archaic Hebrew etched on its surface. I felt God's love all around it. And I felt its power."
Everyone looked stunned, Randall staring at Lucas with awed wonder.
"You saw. . .you saw. . ." he softly stuttered.
"I saw items of faith and love, Dad. And I saw so much more." Lucas softly said, everyone seeing the hidden wonder in his green pools.
"The. . .the Holy Grail and the Ark of The Covenant?" Randall softly said, Lucas' eyes lowering for a moment, then raising with faithful love shining in them.
"Perhaps, Dad. They had the glow of God around them." Lucas said, everyone staring at him with wonder.
"Lucas, what. . .what you're saying is impossible!" Haras said, Lucas' eyes meeting his.
He saw the uncertainty in his golden brown pools, Lucas' hand squeezing his shoulder again.
"Nothing is impossible when one believes, my friend." Lucas said, Haras staring at him.
"Alsarius knew?" Haras softly said.
Lucas nodded, looking around again.
"Yes, Haras. His soul was one of pure love and then flowing magic. He immediately sensed what surrounded him. And in walking into that tomb he realized what he now was himself."
Everyone looked at Lucas with confusion.
Lucas sighed, his hand going to the stone around his neck, Rosa Sharon staring up at him, a soft smile on her face.
"I feel his love, Dad."
Lucas smiled, his eyes going around at everyone again.
"Alsarius Belgras was the last treasure of goodness to be trapped within that room. For I felt him there the moment I walked into that room alone."
Haras stared at him with total shock.
"My master is still there?!" he said, Lucas staring at him.
"Yes, Haras. I felt his soul within that chamber's walls. It is trapped there."
Josh stared at his Lucas, the young man smiling at him with love.
"I thought you said Alsarius was trapped within the stone, my love?" Josh said, Lucas nodding his head.
"He is, my love. I think a duality of magic existed within his lost life." he said, Haras staring at him.
"What do you mean, Luke? How can Alsarius be in two places, let alone a place from the past and a pendant here now?" Finn said, Lucas staring at his friend.
"Magic, my friend. A concise old magic, that someone never realized existed."
"Alsarius, Luke? You said he was then of magic." Lance said, Lucas smiling at him.
"Yes, Lance. I said he was then of magic because he wore this into that tomb." Lucas said, raising the stone that lay against his smooth chest, Rosa Sharon looking at it.
"He wore the magic that was in the stone that Kavinus gave to him with love." Lance said, Lucas nodding.
"Correct, my astute friend." he smiled, Lance smiling at him with love.
"So you're saying there was magic within that stone even before Alsarius went down there?" Andrew said, Lucas nodding.
"Yes, Drew. An ancient magic that was perhaps lost for eons. I feel that magic now." Lucas said, Josh staring at the stone.
"Is it dangerous, my love?" he asked, his three soulmates showing their concerned love.
"No, my love. It never was nor shall ever be dangerous."
Justin's eyes met Lucas' green.
"You know what that magic is?" he said, Lucas staring at him.
"Not entirely, Jus. But I sense the resolve behind it, and perhaps the reasoning for it. I just have to find the connecting realization of what it means to myself and my family."
"If anyone can find that out, you shall, Luke." Finn said, Lucas smiling at him.
"I shall, Finn. And that magic may be surprised, as others may be."
"You feel that ancient magic in the stone? Why didn't Alsarius or Kavinus feel it?" Haras said, looking at Lucas.
"Why indeed, my friend. That magic is all-powerful. It may have lain hidden from them for a reason, or maybe not. It won't divulge that truth to me."
"You. . .you have talked with the magic?" Haras said, Lucas smiling at him.
"Yes, my friend. We've had heated discussions on several subjects. You were one such discussion."
"Me?" Haras said, Colton and Jonathan staring at him with love.
"Yes, Haras. The magic wasn't too happy with my interference with your new reality. It couldn't understand why I wanted you free of your lost path."
"It. . .it didn't want me to exist in this world of love. It knew I wasn't worthy of the love I now have." Haras said, lowering his eyes.
Colton and Jonathan moved, both walking to the man's side, their hands going to his shoulders.
"No, Haras. For a single reason it relented to my demands." Lucas said, Haras' eyes raising, Lucas smiling at him, leaning forward and kissing his cheek.
"What. . .what reason, Lucas?" Haras said, Lucas smiling.
"For the same reason it let me walk into that hidden room, for the same reason it let me bring Rosa Sharon and you here into the real world. Love."
"Love, Dad?" Colton said, Lucas smiling up at him.
"Yes, new soulmate of Haras' love. Love is something unknown to the magic. It felt it in Alsarius' and Kavinus' bond. It feels it greater in my own self. It is a newness it never experienced before in the eons of its existence. I think the magic wants to know the love. That's why it's coexisting within myself. The love and magic are at a truce. And the greater hidden magic within myself is keeping them calm."
"That's. . .that's remarkable, Luke." Derek said, Lucas smiling at the young man snuggled against Enrique.
"My love is remarkable, Derek. As Enrique senses yours is."
Haras' hand went to Lucas' shoulder, the man turning back to him.
"Thank you, Lucas. For giving me this second chance at love. I feel your love laced within my Colt's and my Jonah's. Thank you for voicing that to the magic." Haras said, Lucas smiled at all three young men.
"Your love is your own, my three young warriors of love. I won't watch. Although its passion stirs my own. My three of love should thank you as well."
The three young men blushed, Lucas laughing.
"Your love is your own, my friends. As is the love of each couple surrounding me." he smiled, everyone smiling at him.
Haras rose from his seat, he and his soulmates returning to their joined chairs, Josh returning to Lucas' side.
His arm went around his man, their eyes meeting.
"Something's bothering me, my love." Josh said, Lucas smiling and kissing his lips.
Josh felt his flowing love, Justin and Lance staring at both.
"I know, my love. I'm dancing around the issue. You sense all of my soul." he said, Josh kissing his lips again.
"Why didn't the evil attack you when you took our rings from that room, my love? And why didn't it attack Rosa Sharon when she took yours from that room?"
Lucas' eyes met Rosa Sharon's blue pools, she still in his lap.
"I feel your love, my little angel. Voice the truth." he smiled, she smiling up at him, her blue pools turning to Josh and everyone.
"The evil didn't feel us, or sense us. I was a Shade of my former self. Lucas was the greater Shade."
Everyone stared at Lucas, the young man's eyes lowering, then raising, their greenness softly glowing.
"My truer magic is greater than any magic. It allows me total freedom in all realms."
Josh stared at him in shock, staring into two emerald pools of glowing love.
"Lucas. . .are you saying. . .?"
"Yes, my love. I can walk anywhere, as my true self or as a Shade of my true self. I am a being of total magic."
Everyone stared at him with shock, the young man sighing.
"I didn't mean to shock you. I just couldn't hide it from you."
"Are you saying. . .are you saying you're not real?" Finn said in shock, not believing his own words.
"Of course not, Finny. I'm my own self, as real as I've been since the moment of my birth. Do I have to tap that hot ass of yours to make you feel my realness?" Lucas smiled, Josh staring at his man with love.
"Can I watch?" Justin smiled, Lucas laughing loudly, his three soulmates smiling at him with love.
Finn blushed, staring at his friend and brother.
"I'm sorry, Luke. It just seemed so unbelievable about what you just said." he said, Lucas smiling at him.
"I've always been unbelievable, Finn. As has my love."
Finn smiled, nodding.
"I know you're real, Lukey. I've felt that love always."
Lucas smiled, winking at him, the Welshman laughing.
"My ass doesn't need to feel your realness, horn dog. Your trio of boy toys can enjoy that."
Lucas laughed, his eyes moving around to everyone's awed, but softly smiling faces.
"I'm real, everyone. My three soulmates can indeed attest to that. My love is real as well. I've just gained a new gift within the magic. I can move out of my soul and walk paths needed." he said, everyone staring at him with awed wonder.
"You can. . .you can teleport?" Lance said, Lucas nodding, Colton smiling at his friend.
"So can I, Lance. You remember when I helped join Grayson and Gabriel. My invisible self joined their love together. It is a gift within the magic. But I sense it was from you, Dad. You gave me that gift." Colton said, smiling at Lucas.
"I needed you to see love, Colton. Your young soul sought it. I'll always help you come to terms with life."
Colton smiled, his blue eyes showing his love for Lucas.
"Have you been roaming our homes watching again, squirt?" Justin smiled, Colton blushing, his two soulmates staring at him with surprise.
"No, Justin. Not since that one night. Lucas made me realize the error of my roaming ways. I would never--nor never again will--invade others' love." he smiled, Lucas smiling at him.
"Nor I, Colt. Love is an emotion of private necessity. It radiates as one soul, alone. You just needed to find that truth yourself." he smiled, Colton smiling at him.
Colton smiled at Haras and Jonathan, their eyes meeting.
"I have found the truth. And it is so beautiful." he said, both young men smiling at him.
"Something tells me your magic is even greater with that new gift. I never sensed you walking with it." Colton said, staring at Lucas again, Lucas nodding.
"Great it is, Colt. My magic needs to be hidden from all. No one of magic can sense it. Not even you, my little magical friend. The ancient magic within the stone never sensed it either."
"Why does that other magic walk in hidden reality, Luke?" Tristan asked, Lucas smiling at his father.
"It moves silently to find what it believes I need, Dad. It guided me to that room to find the protection I needed for my soulmates. It guided the true Watcher to guide Rosa Sharon to find the ring I needed for the unleashing of the greater magic. When I put that ring on, the magic of the stone joined with it, the greater magic revealing itself in my mind. I have two beings of magic flowing within me."
Someone stared at Lucas.
"They are real beings?" Emerson said, Lucas smiling at his grandfather.
"At one time perhaps they were a part of real beings. Now they are greater than their once selves. I just have to reason who or what they really are. It's close, I sense that truth is close." Lucas said, Josh staring at him.
"How did you find the room, Luke? Where is its entrance?" Justin said, Lucas smiling at his Justin.
"It's where it's always been. Where great-great-grandfather Emmanuel Belmont knew it was. Where all of my past now knows it was. The doors to its existence are the points of a triad of destiny."
"You're riddling us again, my love." Lance said, Lucas smiling at him.
"There are three entrances to that room, as I already stated a while ago."
Vivian stared at her adoptive son.
"Hope Island, that lost tomb in Egypt and Kurucu's Haven." she said, some looking surprised.
"Yes, Mom. The three points of access to the treasure room of Kurucu's existence."
Josh's hand went in Lucas'.
"You found the entrance at your grandfather's home in Kurucu's Haven at Christmas time when we were there, didn't you? You gave us these rings as a Christmas gift."
"Yes, my love. My great-great-grandfather built that house in the middle of a wilderness so many years ago. Because he was drawn to the reality of what he sensed there. What he was drawn to. The goodness of the flowing magic hidden there. He built that house around the entrance to that lost room." he said, Emerson staring at him with shock.
"It. . .it cannot be, Lucas!" he softly said, Tristan's arm going around his father.
"I believe Lucas, Father. It now all makes sense. Grandfather and we never knew, Lucas." Tristan said, staring at his son.
"I know, Dad. I know you never knew. No one of the lineage except Emmanuel knew. And he left that truth for me within the journal. That was one of the secrets he left there for only myself." Lucas said, his father and grandfather staring at him.
"Why, Lucas? Why didn't my grandfather tell me or my father?" Emerson said, Lucas smiling at him with showing love.
"He loved you, Grandfather. As he loved his son Joshua. For your protection he kept that truth from you both. As your own son never knew as well."
"But why did he tell you, Lucas? Why did he leave that truth for you?" Emerson said, Lucas sighing again, looking at his family.
"For he sensed that one of total love was coming. One of a greater courage and resolve than himself. And perhaps for his own retribution. He sensed that I would know how to handle that room."
"Handle that room, Luke?" Lance said, Lucas nodding.
"Yes, Lance. How I must handle it ahead. That room awaits the ending of all of this. And I am the one to show it and the magic its true self." Lucas said, his grandfather staring at him.
"It's in the room hidden below Kurucu's Haven, isn't it? That room of portraits." he said, Lucas nodding.
"Yes, Grandfather. A room I've now sealed off from everyone. There is a danger there that only I must face. I will not let any of my family venture there again. We three are the last to see its realness."
"Three, Luke? Who besides you and Rosa Sharon ventured there?" Roy said, Lucas staring at him, then at his father and grandfather.
"Emmanuel Belmont made one voyage there, for one reason alone. And the truer Watcher around us guided him."
Tristan stared at his son, a reality dawning on him.
"The stone! Great-Grandfather Emmanuel went into that room to bring the Blood Teardrop into this world!"
Lucas nodded his head, Emerson staring at him with shock.
"He. . .he took that stone from there?" he said with awed wonder, Isadora's arm going around her husband.
"Yes, Grandfather. And he did it at a great sacrifice." Lucas said, the young man rising from his chair, everyone watching him as he went to the end of the patio, the young man staring out into the calm water of the still pool.
"Grandfather Joshua had it wrong, Grandfather. The greater risk Grandfather Emmanuel took was not the leaving of the journal for me, it was the taking of the Blood Teardrop from the treasure room. That risk gave you all the danger surrounding you."
Emerson rose from his chair, walking up to his grandson, turning the young man in his arms.
"What do you mean, Lucas?" he said, staring into his grandson's now violet pools.
Lucas sighed, his arms going around his grandfather.
"The evil that resides there in Kurucu's Haven was drawn there by your grandfather's theft, Grandfather. He was a real man when he walked into that chamber. How he escaped the evil's presence there when he took the stone I know not. But that evil sent part of itself out of that room following him. And that evil still remains there to this day. The evil of Kurucu's Haven was the risk my grandfather took to retrieve the stone. For he felt in his soul it was a greater risk for what he left here. The three treasures of his love."
"His journal, the key and the stone." Lance said, Lucas nodding.
"Yes, everyone. Emmanuel reluctantly released the evil that resides there now, it following him out of the treasure room, seeking to return the stone to its home. But upon entering the real world again the evil sensed a newness to its life. It remains here to stoke its soul with the pain, hurt and suffering of others. My task is to see that evil gone from this world and from the other world. It is my destiny." Lucas said, Emerson's arm going around him again.
"Grandfather was always a courageous man, Lucas. I sense why he did it. He wanted you to have the greater magic. He sensed his own son and grandson weren't strong enough." Emerson said, Lucas kissing his cheek.
"You and Grandfather Joshua are strong and courageous in your own ways, Grandfather. Your grandfather loved you both. But he knew--as I now know--that more than strength and courage were needed. He knew that a greater magic was needed to gain freedom for his son and grandson, and their children ahead. I am that greater magic. I now totally accept that." Lucas said, his father rising from his seat, walking up to his son and father, Lucas' eyes meeting his green.
"We never wanted this destiny for you, Lucas. I'm sure Great-Grandfather Emmanuel didn't either." Tristan said, Lucas smiling at him.
"Destiny isn't found in the hearts of a family's love, Father. It is found in the greater picture of life's path. I and all of you are souls upon the path of a greater purpose. I stand ready to do my destined part."
"What will happen, Lucas? What will you have to do?" Tristan said, Lucas smiling.
"I will have to do what I've always done, Dad. I will have to give my love. To all and to everything. That is my destiny and my magic. And from that comes the greater freedom. A lifetime of love and happiness."
"You seem so confident, Lucas." Emerson said, seeing the calmness and love in his emerald pools.
"I am, Grandfather. For I've read the past, the present and the future. And the magic and love within me sees life as it will be. Trust in me to lead you all down the path of my love."
Emerson and Tristan smiled, Lucas kissing both of their cheeks.
"We walk that path, Lucas. And we all feel your love." Emerson said, Lucas smiling at him.
"As do all, Grandfather. And the path's about to widen." he said, his green pools moving, staring into two blue pools.
The young man moved, walking up to the patio table, everyone around it staring at him.
"I feel your magic, Watcher. You are welcome back into the light."
Two eyes met his, everyone's eyes on the young man staring back at Lucas.
"Welcome back into the real world, Almira. Welcome back to life, Priscilla. And welcome back to his lost love, Hemi."
Enrique's eyes were wide with shock, Lucas smiling at the man seated beside him.
Everyone's eyes widened, all staring at a silent Derek Fontaine.
The young man rose from his seat, Enrique releasing his hold on him, Derek staring into Lucas' green pools.
"When did you sense my true self, Lucas?" the young man said, Lucas smiling at him.
"At the restaurant, Hemi. I sensed your lost magic and love." he said, Haras going to his feet, staring at the young man with shock.
"Hemi? It. . .it cannot be!" he stuttered, Colton and Jonathan on their feet at his sides.
"Can you be real as well, Haras? Are you now not of flesh and love?" Lucas said, the Egyptian staring at him.
"He. . .it cannot be him! He. . .he destroyed us all!" Haras said, Lucas' green pools going back to Derek's blue, the young man's head lowering.
"We all walk paths of fate, my Captain." Derek said, Haras staring at the young man with surprise, his voice now different, familiar in its tone.
"It is. . .Hemi?" he softly said, Derek's eyes moving to the Egyptian's brown pools.
Enrique stared at the young man, his hand going to his shoulder, turning him around in front of him.
"Derek? What are. . .who are you? Are you. . .are you real?" he softly said, his face showing confusion and worry.
"He is real, and he is the man you love, Enrique. The man you fell in love with. But he is also another soul of magic." Lucas said, Derek's eyes meeting his.
Enrique's eyes met Lucas' as well, the young man moving, walking up to the two men.
"It took me a while to figure out the reality of the closer Watcher on my path. The Watcher of my family's past. You've walked on the same path as your once captain, young warrior." Lucas said, Josh walking up to him.
"He's. . .he's another soldier from Egypt?" Josh said, Lucas smiling at his soulmate.
"He's another Egyptian lost on a path not of his choosing. Another courageous warrior on the path of destiny."
Haras moved, walking up beside Lucas and Josh, the man staring at the young man standing beside Enrique.
"Show yourself Hemidon Akemenon!." he said, his voice laced with determination.
Lucas sighed, his hand going to Haras' shoulder, the Egyptian's eyes meeting Lucas' green.
"He cannot show his soul, Haras. For his was a greater sacrifice than yours." Lucas said, Haras looking confused.
"What do you mean, Lucas?" he said, Lucas' eyes going to Derek's blue pools.
"You lost yourself in the path of your sacrificial love for Alsarius my lost ancestor. You gave your life for his, although it was for naught. Hemi gave even more." Lucas said, Haras staring at him with confusion.
"What. . .what do you mean, Lucas?" he said again, Lucas sighing.
"You were not the first to give your life for his love, Haras. Hemi gave his first."
Haras looked at the young man staring at him, his brown pools hardening.
"He was the first to die, and deservedly so! He was our doom!" he said, Derek's eyes lowering.
"No he wasn't, Haras. He was the savior of all of you."
Haras looked shocked, everyone staring at Lucas with surprise.
"What do you mean, Luke?" Lance asked, Lucas' eyes going around to everyone.
"Sit down everyone. I think I need to open the truth. And I think you do as well, Hemidon Akemenon, Hemi to your friends and comrades. " Lucas said, the young man slowly returning to his seat, Enrique staring at him, the man slowly sitting down, Lucas seeing the distance between the two men.
Everyone returned to their seats, Colton and Jonathan guiding Haras back to his, the man staring at Derek.
Lucas returned to his own seat in front of Derek and Enrique, Josh at his side.
Lucas' eyes met Enrique's eyes, the man's eyes showing a guarded uncertainty
"First off, you need to lose the look in your eyes, Rico." Lucas said, Enrique staring at him, his eyes lowering from their emerald stare.
"What did you see in Derek's eyes than first night you met him, Rico?"
Enrique stared again at Lucas, his eyes then moving to Derek's blue.
"I saw love. A deep calm love. A love of unbelievable beauty." Enrique said, Lucas smiling.
"Tell me what you see now."
Enrique stared into Derek's blue pools, the man staring into the soul of his life.
Derek stared at him, their eyes lost in a feeling they'd both shared since meeting.
"I still see it there, Lucas. I still see that love." he said, Derek softly smiling back at him.
"That love was always there. Has always been there. That is the heart of Hemidon Akemenon. A young warrior of worth and courage. A man who took life unto himself to ward off the destruction of his friends."
Haras looked confused, Colton and Jonathan looking at him with love and concern.
Lucas' eyes met both men's, the young man smiling.
"You fell in love with each other, not because of the past, not because of magic, but only because you both saw in each other the love you needed. That love is real, as is both your souls and beings. Hemidon is real, Enrique. He is also your Derek, the man you love."
Enrique smiled, staring at his love.
"I'll never stop loving your soul, Derek. I fell in love with all of you. Nothing will ever change that love."
Derek teared up, Enrique's body moving, wrapping his arms around him, their lips meeting.
Lucas smiled, everyone quietly watching the two join.
They broke their kiss, staring into each other's eyes.
"I love you, Rico. I will always love you. Regardless of who I was, of who I am."
Enrique smiled, his arm going around him.
Lucas smiled, seeing their love unchanged.
"Love always conquers all. Love moves through all lives."
Derek and Enrique nodded, everyone staring at Lucas.
The young man sighed again, looking around.
"Hemidon is a soul lost unto time. He sacrificed much to achieve much. I'm certain no one knew." Lucas said, the young man staring at him.
"You know, don't you? I see the sign of its greatness in your changing eyes, Lucas. I see Alsarius' soul and I see another's." Derek said, Lucas nodding.
"We all walk as souls lost in time. Haras was denied life by evil's intent. Given life by my love's magic." Lucas said, looking at the Egyptian.
His eyes went back to Derek, the young man lowering his eyes again.
"Alsarus Belgras was denied life, entrapped within magic, lost through the sands of time. His only happiness the brief reliving of his love for his Kavinus, that man's life ending years later. Alsarius again lost within the sands of time, imprisoned in magic's grasp."
Haras' eyes lowered, as did Derek's.
"And Hemidon Akemenon, perhaps the most lost of all. Imprisoned by magic as well. But for a greater reason. For saving love." Lucas said, Lance staring at him.
"What's going on, Lucky?" he said, Lucas smiling at him.
"Love, Lance. Unending love, unending truths. Many walk paths of destiny, some walk paths of fate. And one walks with greater courage than all of us."
Everyone stared at Lucas with confusion, the young man smiling.
He rose from his seat, everyone watching him walk to the edge of the patio again, staring out into the calm pool's water again.
"You hid your life well from everyone, Hemidon. From your comrades and your Pharaoh. But he saw through its deception easily."
"Alsarius, Luke?" Emerson said, Lucas looking at his grandfather, then at Derek.
"No, Grandfather. Alsarius was lost in his own courage and love. A greater magic took it upon itself to give him life's salvation."
Derek rose from his seat, the man walking towards Lucas, Haras' brown eyes following him with confusion.
The young man stopped in front of Lucas, turned and faced him.
"You know everything, don't you Lucas?" Derek said, Lucas' hand going to the young man's shoulder.
"I am honored to know you, great warrior of love. Greater warrior of magic. Your destiny lies in your love for him."
Haras rose to his feet, staring at the young man.
"Hemi was in love with Alsarius?" Haras said, Derek's eyes meeting his.
Derek's eyes took on a golden hue, a soft glow showing in their golden centers, Haras stepping back.
"No, Haras. Hemi's love lay at another's feet. And they sealed their bond with magic." Lucas said, Hemi's brown eyes meeting his.
"He was my life, Lucas. His magic, his love, his guiding truth." Hemi said, Lucas smiling and kissing his cheek.
"He was all that and more, Hemi. And Alsarius' love was his existence."
Everyone looked shocked, Hemi lowering his eyes.
"I'd like you all to meet Hemidon Akemenon, a valiant, courageous warrior. And a giving, loving, courageous young man."
Haras looked confused, Lucas staring at him.
His eyes went back to Hemidon's brown pools, the man sighing.
"He never knew, Lucas. Even at the end I couldn't divulge the truth. I. . .I couldn't meet his eyes with my deception."
Lucas' hand went to Hemidon's shoulder, the young man staring at him.
"He would have welcomed that love with his own, Hemi. The truth of your ancestry and fate wouldn't have changed his loving soul."
"Alsarius has that forever, Lucas. It was the greater sacrifice I had to give." the young man said, Haras and everyone staring at him with confusion.
Lucas' hand moved Hemidon's body, the young man facing everyone.
"Hemi was the savior of all of you, Haras. Even Kavinus didn't know that truth."
Haras looked stunned, Hemi going to one knee before him, his brown eyes staring into Haras' brown.
"Forgive me, my captain. I could find no other way! Through magic and courage we all have life."
Haras looked shocked, Lucas' hand going to Hemi's shoulder.
"They now walk the path of magic, Hari. And his life and Alsarius' were the greater destiny."
Haras' eyes met Lucas' green pools.
"Hemi saved all of you, Haras. With another's help. And his soul is trapped within the magic as well."
"You mean. . .Alsarius. . .Kavinus. . .they. . ." Haras softly said, Hemi regaining his feet, standing before his once commander.
"He gave his life and love to his other soul, Haras. Kavinus was the greatest of love. And I have gladly paid the price for that love he needed."
Lucas' eyes met Haras', everyone around them staring in silent shock.
"Hemi gave his life for their love, Haras. He didn't give doom to anyone. And you have him to thank for your own changed path." Lucas said, Haras staring at him.
"Kavinus? He. . .he was of magic?"
Hemi stared at Haras, feeling Lucas' hand on his shoulder again.
"No, Hari. Kavinus wasn't of magic. But standing before you is a being of immense magic. A magic of ancient lineage. Hemidon Akemenon was the greatest master of magic in Egypt's total realm."
Everyone looked shocked, Hemi's eyes meeting Lucas', the young man smiling and nodding.
Hemi turned and stared into Haras' brown pools.
"Kavinus was my brother, Haras. And I sacrificed all for his and Alsarius' love."
