Howdy to a new part of the series. I hope you are all enjoying the series as much as I am enjoying writing it.

DISCLAIMER: If you are underaged or offended by m/m concepts please leave now, I'm not gettin my ass fried for you doing something illegal when I have told you to leave. All characters are part of my mind and bear no reflection on real people that may or may not exist. All songs belong to respective artists, all poems and some songs are mine. If you want to use them if you just ask and give me a reason I will more than likely agree, all you have to do is be polite and ask.

Stories I recommend:

Jamie's Romance - (boy-bands) Justin from Nsync and a guy called Jamie. Brilliantly written and well crafted story. I love it.

JC Dreams - (boy-bands) This is one of my many series at the moment. It is another Nsync story that involves JC and Tony (a non-celeb).

Nsync with my Premonitions - (boy-bands) JC again and it is a great story.

Brandis Redemption - (celebrity) yet another way cool story which I am totally loving.

Reap the Whirlwind - (college) a spin-off of 'Bleeding Hearts' which has ensnared me in the way it is written.

Yesterday's Child 04 by Sun Child

As Anna and I were driving to the pool she looked over and must have seen the smile on my face.

"Who is she?" Anna asked.

"She?" I asked confused.

"She that has you floating."

"There is no she." I told her.

"So who is he then?" God she was persistant.

"What makes you think there is anyone?"

"Because I know you too well Jess, spill."

"There's no one." I told her.

"Bull shit. His name is Nick and he's new to school." I looked at her in disbelief.

"How the fuck do you know that?"

"Caleb told me." She told me off handedly.

"Fucking asshole." I swore.

"Funny that's what I told him. I figured if you wanted me to know you would tell me in your own time."

"Thanks Anna. Just don't tell the olds please."

"Not likely to happen. I ain't gonna cause the nuclear meltdown." Anna said.

"Oh shut up and put a CD on." I told her grinning. After flipping through the CDs I had in the car she selected one and threw it into the player.

What we learned here is love tastes bitter when it's gone

Past yourself forget the light, things look dirty when it's on

Funny how it comes to pass, that all the good slips away

And there's no one around you can remember being good to you

Shame, shouldn't try you, counldn't step by you

And open up more

Shame, shame, shame

What we lost here is something better left alone

Second steps have been forgotten, will you tell me how they go

Set yourself, situate, like a fool try again

There's no one around you can remember being good, for you so

Shame, shouldn't try you, counldn't step by you

And open up more

Shame, shame, shame

Shame, shouldn't try you, counldn't step by you

And open up more

Shame, shame, shame

We never thought we'd get so troubled

We could never think that much

It should never get this bad

So let the wind blow ya, across a big floor

But there's no one around who can tell us what we're here for

Funny in a certain light, how we all look the same

And there's no one in life you can remember ever stood, for you so

Shame, shouldn't try you, counldn't step by you

And open up more

Shame, shame, shame

Shame, shouldn't try you, counldn't step by you

And open up more

Shame, shame, shame

I looked at Anna.

"Is that meant to mean something?"

"Like what?"

"That I'm going to bring shame to the family by being with Nick?" Anna shook her head.

"I'm happy you've got someone, I just hope you will introduce me one day."

"I will, just change the CD. Actually never mind, here's the pool." I pulled up outside and let her out. As she jumped outta the car I called out to her.

"I'll be here in an hour be ready." With that, I reached over and changed the CD myself. As the music started, I drove away.

I think I've already lost you

I think you're already gone

I think I'm finally scared now

You think I'm weak - But I think you're wrong

I think you're already leaving

Feels like your hand is on the door

I thought this place was an empire

But now I'm relaxed - I can't be sure

I think you're mean - I think we should try

I think I could need - this is my life

I think I'm just scared - I think too much

I know this is wrong it's a problem I'm dealing

If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home

There's an awful lot of breathing room

But I can hardly move

If you're gone - baby you need to come home

Cuz there's a little bit of something me

In everything you

I bet you're hard to get over

I bet the room just won't shine

I bet my hands I can stay here

I bet you need - more than you mind

I think you're mean - I think we should try

I think I could need - this in my life

I think I'm just scared - that I know too much

I can't relate and that's a problem

If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home

There's an awful lot of breathing room

But I can hardly move

If you're gone - baby you need to come home

Cuz there's a little bit of something me

In everything you

I think you're mean - I think we should try

I think I could need - this in my life

I think I'm just scared - do I talk too much

I know it's wrong it's a problem I'm dealing

'Well, with any luck Nick won't be gone in any hurry.' I thought to myself as the song finished playing. I turned a corner and pulled over to change the CD yet again. Pressing play on the player, Sugar Ray started to pump out. Pulling away from the kerb, I moved out onto the road and saw Caleb sitting there watching me from the bus stop. Checking my rear view and blind spot, I swung a u-turn around and pulled up beside where he was and wound down my window.

"Caleb do you want a lift?" He looked at me with disgust written across his face.

"Not from you faggot, now fuck off."

"Oh Caleb, grow up." I wound my window back up and pulled back out onto the road. After driving I decided to go visit Nick. Pulling up, I saw him standing on his front steps talking on his cell phone. He looked down, saw me and waved. I turned off the car and climbed out, locking the car after me. As I was walking up to him, he finished his conversation and hung up. When I finally made it up to him he hugged me and kissed me lightly on the lips. I kissed him back and hugged him as well. We seperated after a few moments and he stepped back looking at me.

"Why are you here? I thought you had to take your sister to swimming?"

"Gee, can't I come visit my boyfriend every now and then?" I laughed.

"I've already dropped her off and on the way she was telling me how Caleb's told her about us and she asked when she could meet you so I thought you might want to pick her up with me." Nick nodded.

"That would be cool." I just grinned.

"How much time until you have to pick her up?" Nick asked. I glanced down at my watch.

"Half an hour." Nick nodded then stepped back and motioned for me to enter. I walked in and turned around. Once he had closed the door I walked up and wrapped my arms around his waist and kissed him passionately on the lips. He was slightly stunned but started to kiss back. When we finally came up for air we just stayed there, holding each other. We eventually let go of each other and he looked at me.

"What was that for?"

"Because I felt like it." I told him.

"I can live with that then." He smiled at me, I just grinned back.

After we had wandered into Nick's room and settled on the couch (yes he had a couch in his room) I looked at him.

"Sorry I bolted so fast earlier. I was like on a total deadline." I apologised. Nick just waved it off.

"Don't stress. I understand, I've had to do things like that with my Caleb." Nick reassured me. He then glanced down at his watch.

"Time to go pick up your sister." He leaned over and kissed me and then stood up pulling me to my feet. I allowed myself to be pulled out the door, pausing only long enough for me to grab my cell phone and keys.

Driving back to the pool to pick up Anna, Nick reached across and grabbed my hand. Glancing over at him I smiled and then nodded to where I kept my CDs.

"Can you please change it for me baby?" I smiled. He nodded and released my hand and started to flip through the CDs. Finally selecting one he slid it into the player. A strong dance beat started to pulse out and I groaned and took it as a hint.

You and me, we have an opportunity

And we, could make it something really cool

But you, you think I'm not that kind of girl

I'm here to tell you baby,

I know how to rock your world

Don't think that I'm not strong

I'm the one to take you on

Don't underestimate me boy

I'll make you sorry you were born

You don't know me

The way you really should

You sure misunderstood

Don't call me baby

You got some nerve, and baby that'll never do

You know I don't belong to you

It's time you knew I'm not your baby

I belong to me, so

Don't call me baby

Behind my smile is my IQ

I must admit, this does not sit,

With the likes of you

You're really sweet

Mmm, you're really nice

But didn't mama ever tell you not to play with fire?

Don't think that I'm not strong

I'm the one to take you on

Don't underestimate me boy

I'll make you sorry you were born

You don't know me

The way you really should

You sure misunderstood

Don't call me baby

You got some nerve, and baby that'll never do

You know I don't belong to you

It's time you knew I'm not your baby

I belong to me, so

Don't call me baby

You and me, we have an opportunity

And we, could make it something really cool

But you, you think I'm not that kind of girl

I'm here to tell you baby,

I know how to rock your world

Don't think that I'm not strong

Don't underestimate me boy

I'll make you sorry you were born

You don't know me

The way you really should

You sure misunderstood

Don't call me baby

You got some nerve, and baby that'll never do

You know I don't belong to you

It's time you knew I'm not your baby

"Not even as a pet name?" I asked Nick when the song finished, who had been singing along (fuck he had a nice voice).

"Huh?" Nick looked at me confused.

"I called you baby then you play 'Don't Call Me Baby'. I thought you must have been sending me a message." Nick just shook his head.

"Nah. I just like the band."

"Well, one of my friends has their album. Maybe I could get them to loan it to me." I offered.

"Thanks, that would be cool."

"No probs, now I gotta ask you to play some type of boy band song. Anna hates it and she'll be waiting out front in a few minutes." I said smiling. Nick looked at me and grinned.

"I like your style." With that he went to work sorting through my CDs again.

"Here we go, I think this one hits home. Just listen to the words and I tell you they are true." Nick told me and started the CD.

When the visions around you

Bring tears to your eyes

And all that surrounds you

Are secrets and lies

I'll be your strength

I'll give you hope

Keeping your faith when it's gone

The one you should call

Was standing here all along

And I will take you in my arms

And hold you right here when you belong

'Til the day my life is through

This I promise you

This I promise you

I've loved you forever

In lifetimes before

And I promise you never

Will you hurt anymore

I give you my word

I give you my heart

This is a battle we've won

And with this vow

Forever has now begun

Just close your eyes

Each lovin' day

And know this feeling won't go away

'Til the day my life is through

This I promise you

This I promise you

Over and over I fall

When I hear you call

Without you in my life, baby

I just wouldn't be living at all

And I will take you in my arms

And hold you right here where you belong

'Til the day my life is through

This I promise you, baby

Just close your eyes

Each lovin' day

And know that this feeling won't go away

Every word I say is true

This I promise you

Every word I say is true

This I promise you

I promise you

I looked over at Nick and spoke carefully, a lump rising in my throat.

"Nick, I don't know how you feel about me, but I don't think I love you yet. Yes, I am fond of you but I don't think I love you like this song says." Nick nodded.

"That's cool, I understand. I don't think I love you yet either, I think I am fond and have a deep affection for you." Nick admitted. I smiled.

"I think though, Nick, that I could very easily end up loving you." Nick's smile widened.

"I think I could love you too Jess." As he said that I pulled up and stopped the car, the next thing I knew, his lips were pressed up against mine. We were startled apart by Anna tapping on the window.

"Oh get over it you two and get this teeny-bopper boy band shit off." She threw her hair over her shoulder and rolled her eyes. Laughing, we stopped the CD and drove off, Anna quizzing Nick the entire way home.

--- Well a more or less uneventful chapter huh. It's all important to the overall scheme though so bare with me.

  1. Shame - Matchbox 20 ... available on 'Yourself or Someone Like You' album

  2. If You're Gone - Matchbox 20 ... available on 'Mad Seasons' album

  3. Don't Call Me Baby - Madison Avenue ... available on 'Polyester Embassy, the' album. I know the song and album are out here in Australia but I'm not sure about elsewhere sorry.

  4. This I Promise You - Nsync ... available on 'No Strings Attatched' album

Well that's it. Feedback to -= heartmindsoulau@yahoo.com =-
