If you are under 18 or not of legal age in your country, please do not read on. If you couldn't accept themes of homosexuality and the like, please don't read on. This is a story concerning gay males having intimate relationships and is considered FOR ADULTS ONLY due to its sexual theme and contents. BUT if you really like this stuff, please don't tell others.

Everything in this story is purely FICTIONAL. Or in simpler terms, it's not true!!! Even if this story involves NSYNC, a real, successful American singing group, and a fictitious character, all that happens in here is fictional... again, it's not true. If there are instances that it is similar to what happened in the real world, it doesn't mean that it's really true. I don't know anything about their sexuality, as far as the I and the world know, they're straight as an arrow so I dunno if they're gay (but I do have my speculations) or not but I wrote this out of freedom of speech and my love for these guys and slash fiction. I don't own or know NSYNC personally. AGAIN, it's NOT TRUE!!! but don't we all hope that it's true... hehehehe...

Hi guys. This is my 3rd work here in the boyband section of the Nifty Archives. I dunno why I called it "What I See" but I just ran out of ideas for a title and thought of something simple. So the title, What I See was born giggle. I dunno if I can manage my 3 stories at the same time but Crossed Paths is in its "season break" and Reformation is still there. But I'll really try my best to update all my stories. Remember, I love feedbacks.

What I See Chapter 27 ------------------------

"I can't believe I'm doing this." Josh groaned for the nth time as we had our short trip to my parent's house. My house was pretty close to my parent's house so I decided that we should just walk. It would give Josh a lot of time to settle his nerves. But I was really losing my patience with his whining.

"Josh, stop bitching. We're almost there and they're not gonna eat you alive. Maybe torture you a little bit but that's all." I told him truthfully.

"Still. I don't know if they're gonna like me." Josh whined then he turned pale stopping on his tracks. "What if they hate me?" He asked.

"They're not gonna hate you." I said placing my hand on his hand. I couldn't believe that Josh was panicking so much with this simple chore. "Remember, I'm gonna be by your side. I won't let them hurt you." I assured him.

Josh smiled weakly but I knew that he was still nervous as hell. He would be just meeting my parents for the first time since Dee and Paul have already met him before. I smiled remembering the first time I saw Josh in Dee's party.

We were the only ones remaining in a booth and I could still remember how intense his eyes were then. It was so deep that I could get lost to it even if the world seemed to be in a topsy-turvy because of the cacophony that the loud music and people chattering made. He was so meek and seemed so small -- I know he's not small, especially down there.

"Why are you smiling?" Josh interrupted my trip down memory lanes.

"I was just reminiscing the first time we met in Dee's party." I answered him. A wave of acknowledgment washed over his face. He smiled as well. "Anyway, we're close." I informed him. We turned right on the next block and pointed at the house where I grew in. It has a lot of my very fond memories and I would never forget it but I also needed the space that my own house has given me. Josh and I walked until we reached the lawn of our house. "We're here." I told Josh.

"I can't do this." Josh groaned. I held his hand and dragged him to the front door. Whether he liked it or not, he would meet my parents. Halfway through, Josh relented and walked beside me. "Promise me to tell my parents that I love them when I'm gone." Josh told me.

"Josh!" I warned him and he just smiled at me goofily. I rolled my eyes and pressed the doorbell. After a few seconds, the door opened and my mom stood there smiling at us.

"Nice to see you Kyle." Mom said. "And this must be the guy who stole your heart." Mom said looking at Josh. All that Josh did was smile and blush.

"Mom!" I whined. But she didn't really mind me. Maybe Josh was right. Maybe this was a bad idea.

"Good evening Mrs. Sanders." Josh greeted her politely.

"Enough with the Mrs. Sanders. Call me Janice." Mom informed Josh who just nodded. "Silly me, come in and make yourself welcome." Mom said ushering us in the house. I just walked to the couch and sat making myself comfortable. Josh on the other hand seemed to have stumbled in a new world as he looked around like he wasn't at ease.

"Sit here." I told Josh patting the spot beside me. Josh walked quietly on my direction and sat down. Mom sat on the chair opposite ours just looking at us. Josh was looking down fidgeting while I looked around trying to see if there were any changes. There was none.

An uncomfortable silence.

"Oh dear, I forgot about dinner." Mom said after a few seconds. "Excuse me boys. I'll just take care of dinner for all of us." Mom smiled at us and walked away.

"Don't be so freaked out." I told Josh grabbing his hand and placing it on my lap. Josh just rolled his eyes.

"For the record, I'm not freaking out." Josh told me.

"Yeah right." I retorted.

"I am not!" Josh said. "I'm just a little nervous."

"Whatever you say." I told Josh. "Paul! Dee! I'm here!" I shouted over my shoulder knowing my siblings were just upstairs.

"We don't shout inside the house." Mom's head popped out of the kitchen door chastising me.

"Sorry, mom." I said blushing from embarrassment. I can't believe that my mom scolded me in front of Josh. Moving on, Paul and Dee came barging down all smiles even if I knew that Paul wasn't that happy probably because of the breakup with Wade.

"I finally saw you once again!" Dee said giving me a quick embrace. "You too!" Dee said to Josh giving him a longer one compared to mine.

"Stop that. He's mine." I told my sister.

"I'm not yours. You are mine." Josh said to me smiling.

"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes. "What's been happening in your life?" I asked Dee.

"Nothing really much. I'm still stressed with running the clubs but that's it." Dee answered me. I looked at Paul and he was quite reserved. It was so out of character for him but I couldn't blame him. I was worse when me and Josh fought. "How about you? The last time I saw you, you were near death." Dee said. I glared at her. I didn't want Josh to feel intimidated or something, especially that he's nervous like hell.

True to what I felt, Josh paled a little bit. I just squeezed his hand trying to comfort him. "I'm better." I said tightly. Dee probably got the hint because her grin faded and just sat opposite us. "You better Paul?" I asked.

"Better." Paul answered.

"I'm so sorry about everything Paul. We really didn't know." Josh told him.

"You don't have to explain anything. Wade is the one that cheated on me, not you." Paul answered Josh with a weak smile.

"I just feel guilty because he's always with us." Josh said.

"Moving on." I said stopping the conversation. "Where is dad?" I asked.

"He's not yet here. He'll arrive in a few minutes though." Dee answered as she looked at her watch. The four us talked about lighter topics knowing that it was not the right time and place for talking about serious ones. True to what Dee said, my dad arrived a few minutes later.

The door opened and he walked in. We all looked at the direction of the door and I smiled when I saw him standing there with his simple suit. "Dad!" I cheered as I walked to him and gave him an embrace.

"It's good to see you once again." Dad told me once we broke our quick hug. When we parted, I noticed that he was eyeing someone. I turned around and saw that he was looking at Josh.

"Oh yeah! Dad, this is Josh, my boyfriend." I introduced Josh to my father.

Josh walked to our direction. "It's great to finally meet you Mr. Sanders." Josh said reaching out his hand for a handshake.

"The feeling is mutual." Dad answered taking his hand for a handshake. Dad was looking at Josh like he was the plague. He was really sizing him up and scrutinizing him mentally. I could imagine a list in his head with pros and con's about Josh already. But it was usual for Dad. "And just call me Henry." He said removing his hand from Josh's. "If you could excuse me, I'll just see Janice." He said leaving us.

"That went fine." I told Josh kissing him at his cheek.

"Why do I get a feeling that it's just starting?" Josh mumbled.

"Because it is." Dee answered. Paul just rolled his eyes and left us walking to the direction of the kitchen.

"Stop it! I think that it went great." I told Dee.

"Of course! The last time you brought a guy, he never dated you again." Dee noted. Well, it was true. It wasn't really a serious one but I thought that it would be great to bring someone to the house knowing that Paul and Dee usually brought someone. Mom and Dad totally floored him with the questions and stares. He didn't last and never called me once again. It wasn't my loss though -- I think.

"Whatever." I replied. "Don't mind Dee. She's just being her old bitchy self." I told Josh who seemed to be sweating profusely.

"I hope so." Josh told me with a nervous laugh. I guided him back to the couch so he could regroup and lessen the heightened nerves. Dee was entertaining us with her anecdotes in her club. It really relaxed Josh a little bit.

"Dinner." Mom said and that made Josh jump a little bit. Mr. Nervous Pants is back. The three of us walked to the dining table and saw two available seats. It must be the seats for us. My hand was still intertwined with Josh's and I guided him to the two seats. We settled down and another one awkward moment.

Josh looked like he was gonna shit himself. Dad was subtly looking at Josh and mom was so nonchalant. It was a little bit creepy but I expected this. "Dad, stop staring." I told my father as I grabbed a piece of the fried chicken and placed it on Josh's plate.

"I'm not." Dad said defensively. I just rolled my eyes. "So Josh, what do you do?" He asked.

"I'm a musician, sir." Josh answered.

"He's part of the group NSYNC." I chimed in.

"Is that the group you always listen to?" Mom asked. It made me blush and nodded shyly. "You know Josh, Kyle always listens to that record. >From morning til night, that's the only thing that comes out of his room." Mom said that made all of them laugh. I just rolled my eyes.

"I never knew that you were a hardcore fan of us." Josh jibbed.

"I think it was so obvious." Dee said. "Remember the opening of my club, he was so hyperventilating and mumbling, 'I'm gonna meet NSYNC' when I told him that we're gonna see NSYNC." Dee laughed. Once again, they laughed and all I could do was shook my head.

The good thing was that it broke the ice. After that moment, we were having nice conversations about Josh's life and my parents were sharing loads of stories about me and my siblings especially when we were younger. Most of the time, we were just laughing with all the funny things that my parents shared.

It was a great meeting. Actually, it was better compared to all the dinners we had with a boyfriend/girlfriend. They really must have liked Josh. It made my heart flutter more (if that was possible) and made me happier.

Once dinner was done, we all helped in cleaning up -- including Josh. Then, we settled in the den where mom decided to show Josh the photo albums when we were younger. Once again, we were all laughing and sometimes blushing because it was our picture in there. "Mom, do you have to do this every time?" Paul asked blushing. Josh stumbled at a naked Paul with mud all over.

"Of course! It's the duty of the parents to embarrass their children." Mom answered with a chuckle. I could say that we all had a good time. It was one of the best moments in my life. My family has accepted Josh.

Time flew faster than usual. I always wondered why the best times always had to be so quick. I looked at my watch and it was already 10:00pm. "I hate to say this but it's late." I said starting to stand up.

"Aaaw, we're having fun already." Josh said. I couldn't really blame him not to want to go. It was so seldom for them to have a family atmosphere because of the tour. I knew that it could be very routinely and I wasn't even sure if I could take it.

"We can return next time. I have to make some necessary stuff before we go on Sunday." I told him.

"Where are you going on Sunday?" Dad asked.

"Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you that I'm going with Josh in their tour." I informed then.

"You're going to their tour?" Paul asked.

"Yeah." I answered.

"When will you be back?" Mom asked. I looked at Josh because I didn't know the answer as well.

"I know that it's the last week of April. I have to check with Lance on that one." Josh answered.

"How will you deal with your work?" Dee asked.

"I can work while on the road. I just have to tell Matt about it and I know that he'll allow it." I answered.

"How about Pookie?" Mom asked. "If you want, we can baby-sit her while you're gone."

"We can bring her if you want." Josh answered looking at me. I wasn't sure about that myself. We were gonna travel all the time. I knew it could get stressful.

"I think I would take Mom's offer on that one. It could get whacked out while on tour and I don't want Pookie to always move." I answered and Josh acknowledged it with a nod. I knew that Mom wanted to have Pookie. She loves that dog so much! "Well, we better go then. It's getting late." I said.

They walked the two of us to the front door and we started our little journey to my house. "Your family is so cool." Josh told me grasping my hand.

"Thanks. I told you that they are gonna love you." I said.

"Yeah yeah!" Josh dismissed. "I just can't believe how accepting your parents are. I haven't told my parents but I know that they're gonna freak out when I tell them about me being gay and of course, you." Josh told me.

"Don't be fooled though. They freaked out when I came out to them. Mom kept on saying that I'm gonna get a virus or something out there and Dad was lecturing how unnatural it was for two men in love." I said. Well, it was really a tough time for me but thank God that it was over. I would be always gracious that they are so accepting with my sexuality. "But we talked some more and cleared everything. After a few years, Paul came out to them and they took the news better than mine." Josh just nodded.

"Were you scared when you told them?" Josh inquired.

"I dunno really." I answered. "When I came out to them, it wasn't really a planned thing. The three of us were talking, well, arguing actually, and it just slipped out of my mouth. I can't remember how it happened but I ended up coming out to them." I chuckled a little bit remembering that incident. At that moment, it wasn't really funny but when you reminisce, it was really funny.

"Really? So no nervous jitters and that shit?" Josh asked.

"Not really. When it dawned to me that I told them I was gay, I got a little frightened. I was 19 then and I still depended on them financially." I replied.

"Did you ever think that you disappointed them for being gay?" Josh queried once again.

"I had that phase. It was one of my self-destructive ones. I was sinking into a deep depression. Ken helped me out of that one and a talk with my parents too helped a lot. Most of the times, talking solves everything. As long as you're willing to talk and willing to listen and understand, I just can't find any reason why a problem can't be solved." I said.

"I hope that my parents will understand once I break the news to them." Josh said.

"Everything will turn out okay. They're your parents and they are gonna love you always." I tried to comfort Josh. We walked a few more meters and reached my house. We were walking to the front door when I noticed a lone figure sitting on the ground. "There's someone there." I whispered to Josh as we stopped walking.

"Kyle?" I heard the man say. I knew that I recognized that voice.

"Justin?!" Josh and I exclaimed at the same time. This was a surprise.

------------------- End of Chapter

It's chapter 27. Sorry for the delay once again but classes started once again and it ate all of my time. I'll try to write the next one as soon as possible.
