I was invited by a friend of mine and his wife to a barbecue at their house so I got home in time to get ready. I showered and shaved and got in my best pair of Wranglers, my snap up shirt and my Ariat boots and headed to my pickup. I drove for 15 minutes and arrived at my friend's house and knocked on his door.
He answered," John, I am glad you could make it, come on in."
As we were walking in here came his wife Lisa just beaming.
We hugged and she said," I wasn't sure you would make it but here you are."
I said," There was light work at the shop so I got off pretty early."
She said," Fantastic, let's head back to the patio."
We headed out and she introduced me to everybody and Tony came out with a couple of Buds and handed me one. I looked out at the corner of my eye and saw the most beautiful lady I have ever seen. She had black hair and green eyes and perfect olive skin and the dress she was wearing made her eyes even more noticeable. I walked over to introduce myself and strike up a conversation with her.
I said," My name is John and I hope you don't mind but I noticed you at the corner of my eye."
She smiled the most dazzling smile and said," No no, I don't mind my name is Amy and it is such a pleasure to meet you."
I said," You are the most beautiful lady I have ever seen."
She blushed and said," Oh, thank you so much, I appreciate that."
We talked for hours and never noticed anybody else and the next thing I knew people were leaving.
Amy said," Here is my number I would love to hear from you."
I said," You can count on that."
Lisa called us inside and was just smiling and she said," I personally invited you over so you guys could get to know each other but you guys beat me."
I looked at Tony and asked," Did you know about this?"
Tony replied," I didn't know about this I swear."
I laughed and said," Well Lisa, how can I be mad at you Amy and I have had a delightful time."
Than Amy surprised me by grabbing my arm and said," I have been dreaming about being connected with a guy like this."
I said," She is one beautiful lady."
We all hugged and said our goodbyes and I headed to my truck thinking about Amy.
By the time I got home it was 11:00 and I got ready for bed. As I was falling asleep I was thinking about this fantastic lady I met who I would find out later was non-genetic but than I didn't care because I had already fallen in love with her but that would be for later chapters.
