Author's Note: Hey peeps, this arc is coming to an end with Chapter 50 and I don't know if I'm going to continue because I haven't been getting any e-mails on the story. I know, a lot of you have sent me e-mails, but unless I see that people are still reading, I'm going to end the story; Also, thanks to Rhett Butler for writing in and letting me know at least one person is still reading. That's it; hope you enjoy the next chapters. Peace.

I stood outside the hospital room, waiting for Kelly to wake up, but so far she hadn't reacted to anything. The doctors said that she lost a lot of blood and there was some internal scarring. Cale hadn't left her side and I was beginning to realize that maybe he wouldn't. Doug hadn't moved either. Doug was quiet and I knew it was the shock from losing Gemma. I was still shocked by it myself. I felt guilty about Lynn, Taylor, Brindi, and Charity. The tone around the town was solemn, almost dead. My grandparents had died too, of course, saving Doug. I wish I had talked to them, saved them from their fate. The Master was back and who knew what that would mean. Probably destruction; I had gone home to check on things. They had designated me to go home and I did, bring coffee and food. I made sure that Grahm had volunteered to stay at the house with the girls and Lestat. Doug had, reluctantly, tried to put a protective spell on Lestat, to keep him from being possessed by the Master. As I walked into the room, Doug and Cale looked up at me with their unshaven faces, trying to smile, but not quite able to.

I sat the bag of food and coffee on the sink, "Any development?" I asked, not looking at them. I picked up the food and started sorting it.

"No." Cale uttered, still holding Kelly's hand.

I nodded, "Oh." I said, still sorting out the food.

Doug stood up, "Austin..." he said.

"No." I said quickly, "Now's not the time."

"It's not your fault." Doug said.

I sighed, "Cale, do you want cheese or plain?" I asked.

Doug hugged me, "I love you..." he said.

"What are you doing?" I asked as my face crinkled, ready to cry, "Stop."

"It wasn't anyone's fault, but the Master and Sinew's." Cale said, watching us.

"It was...is my fault. If I had been a better leader and told her not to be down there...I got five people killed! Three Slayers, one witch, and...They're..." I sobbed.

"She's not dead." Cale said quickly.

"Can you not...If I would have never gone, he'd never have had the opportunity to come back." I sobbed, "And I can't get up the courage to do it again."

"You don't have to." Doug said, "Kelly's gonna wake up and we're going to figure this out."

"It is not gonna be that easy." I said, "Grahm and the Slayers are packing..."

"They're leaving?" Cale asked, "What if..."

"Buffy needs them." I said.

"For what?" Doug asked.

I shrugged, "Didn't ask. She's got her own things and we've got ours." I said, wiping my tears away with my sleeves.

"That's different." Doug said.

"I just...I don't want to pry." I said, "And I really don't want them to know about the Master."

"Why is that?" Cale asked.

"I helped bring the Master back. If Buffy finds out, she'll have a heart attack." I said quickly.

"Who's coming for them?" Doug asked.

"Robin, I think." I said.

"How's morale?" Doug asked, as a nurse came in.

"Crying." I said, "I wish I knew what would happen if Buffy would have died. And not came back. Maybe all this wouldn't be happening! I just..."

"Done." The nurse said, turning to face us.

I sighed at the same Vengeance Demon, Juhak, "Oh shi..." I said, passing out.

I woke, feeling really uncomfortable. I looked around, expecting to see the hospital room, but I couldn't identify the room I was in. I was lying on an inflatable mattress on the floor. It looked like a dungeon and it also looked re-enforced. I groaned when I remembered what happened. All the thoughts and memories conflicted in my mind. My past went through my head, as well as another. The memories were overwhelming and so I ran to the toilet in the corner and threw up! I remembered! Damn that Vengeance demon! I remembered stuff from an alternate life. I had been locked up here since I was around fifteen. When I was Chosen. This isn't right! I'm not supposed to be Chosen. I was never supposed to be the One. I panicked for a minute. I had been here for years?! I walked to the door and put my head to the door. Faith had died. Last time...she was in jail. Buffy had sacrificed herself for Dawn, but hadn't come back from it. Something was fishy about this. What demon had been so powerful that he had captured me? And killed the Slayer? As I listened, I stopped. The door began to open and a guard stood at the door, holding a stick.

"You're up." He smirked.

I looked at him, "You're brave. What makes you think I won't kill you?" I asked.

The guy raised his head and the shadow lifted upon his square jaw and innocent face, with a scar above his eyebrow, "I know you." He said.

"Riley?" I asked.

"In the flesh." He smiled.

"What's this place? Why do you work here?" I asked.

"I'm not supposed to talk to you." Riley said, placing a tray on the floor.

"Yet, here you are." I said, "They let you in alone?"

"No." he said, gesturing to his partner.

His partner walked in and my heart dropped, "Hi." Xander smiled.

"Hey." I said, "Any reason you're keeping the Slayer captive?"

"Had to make it look convincing." He said.

I looked between them, "Get me out of here." I said seriously.

"Nice six pack." Xander smiled.

I looked down. I hadn't noticed until know, but I was buff! Riley walked to the door and looked both way, "Ready?" he asked.

"Are you?" Xander asked.

"Do it." Riley said, puffing out his chest.

Xander made to punch him, but I caught his hand, "Convincing." I said, punching Riley in the face. Xander stared at me, "I'm not feeling too guilty."

"We have to go, now!" Xander said, grabbing his electric stick and pulling me out of the room.

"So's there a reason I'm locked away and you're a soldier?" I asked.

Xander stopped and looked at me, "You're the new Slayer and she's smart."

"She?" I asked.

Xander looked around, "I'll tell you when you're safe." He said.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Los Angeles." Xander answered, "We need to get back to Sunnydale."

"Did you just say get back to Sunnydale?" I asked, "Where's Buffy?"

Xander looked at me oddly, "What's wrong with you?" he asked.

"Why didn't you bring her back?" I asked.

"Giles found out. He put the kabash on the whole thing." Xander said quickly.

"Xander...tell me that the Scoobys survived." I said quickly, "And Angel."

As we turned the corner, Anya popped in front of us. She was pale and I immediately knew that she wasn't "Anya".

**"**Hey sweetie, where you going?" Anya smirked

Xander looked away and down at me, "Go." He said.

"What?" I asked.

"Go. I'll keep her occupied." Xander said, "There's bound to be more vamps on their way."

"I can..."

"Go!" Xander said.

Anya chuckled, "You're not supposed to tell me the plan." She smiled, vamping out.

"What about you?" I asked.

"I don't matter. You matter." Xander said.

Anya pounced, but Xander pushed me out of the way, trying to keep hold of his stake and I ran down the winding hall. I ran past a window and noticed that it was daylight outside. I made my way down the hall and stopped when the door to the elevator opened and there stood Oz. Oz transformed quicker than ever and ran after me. I turned to run back, but stopped at the window. I took a deep breath and jumped out of the window and into the daylight! I rolled off the roof of the building and landed on my back. I sat there for a minute, panting, "Come on, Austin, get up!" I panted. I finally got to my feet and began running and I didn't look back.

I knew that night time wasn't the right time. I was almost tired, though and I had kept myself in good shape, which came in handy when I jumped the ten foot fences. I quickly noticed that there were still people around and I found a bar. I walked in and sat in, ordering a drink.

"Identification." The bartender commanded.

"Do you wanna see my foot?" I asked.

The bartender turned to me, "Sorry, kid, but no drinks for minors." He said.

I groaned, "What? The world's going to Hell." I said angrily.

"Yeah, well, it hasn't ended yet." He said.

"Two whiskeys, Logan." Spike said, sitting on the stool next to me, "Long time, no see."

I didn't look at him, "Spike, is this going to end with me staking you or are you here to help?" I asked.

"I'm on your side, remember." Spike groaned.

I finally looked at him, "The world's gone to Hell." I said, receiving a whiskey and downing it.

"Slow down." Spike said in awe of me.

"I've been locked up for three years...I'm restless and kind of horny." I said, smirking over to him.

Spike smiled, "Who are you?" he smirked, taking a sip of his whiskey.

"One supremely pissed Slayer." I said, turning to survey the bar, "Are you sure you're here to help?"

"No, just surprised to see you." Spike said.

I frowned, "Didn't you promise to look after Dawn?" I asked.

"Yeah, but Giles and the rest of the dweeb squad don't exactly like the idea of having me around, not when captain forehead is around." Spike explained.

"Spike, do you think I'm dumb?" I asked.

Spike sighed, "I really hate to do this, but I gotta take you back, the Big Bad's on your tail." He said, "Don't try anything cute, I've got mates all around."

I smirked, "My, you really have forgotten me." I said, "You know I can't do that."

"Is that a threat?" Spike smirked.

"One question. Why?" I asked.

"It's the only way to protect Dawn." Spike groaned, "Don't tell anyone."

"I won't." I said slowly.

Spike and five other guys stood. I stood too. I looked around and noticed that there were so many things I could use to skewer Spike. These thoughts...the violence. It wasn't me. I picked up the stool I sat on and threw it at the crowd of vamps before side-kicking Spike, causing him to flip over the bar. I kicked his stool and picked up the little piece of wood that had spawned from that stool and picked up the little piece of wood. I jumped on a table and flew through the air, staking a vampire. I landed and roundhoused a vampire, causing him to spin through the air and land on another vampire! I jumped into the air and kicked the vampire in the teeth, whirling around and staking him. I ducked under a punch and staked another, then staked the last one on the ground.

There was applause, "Good job, Slayer." Spike said, walking towards me. I threw the stake and Spike caught it, "Uhp, watch it Slayer, you're falling off your game."

"Something's wrong." I said uneasily.

"Right about now, someone's coming." He said. I ran at him, punching him! He ducked a few punches and grabbed me by my neck, "Come on, it's bloody hard to do this. So, just let me do this."

I elbowed him and flipped him over my shoulder, grabbing a stake and jamming it against his chest, "You have a death wish." I asked.

"Get it over with," he said, "I can't stand being her monkey."

"Whose monkey?" I asked.

"Doesn't matter now." Spike growled, pushing himself against my stake and turning to dust.

I stood and turned to the door, but before I could leave, Giles popped in, crossbow raised. Outside, I could see a helicopter. Behind him, Connor, Dawn, and Groo stood.

"Giles?" I asked, looking past him, "Dawn? Connor?"

"Do I know you?" Connor asked.

I ran to Giles, hugging him, "Giles...I..."

"We have to move." He said.

"Then let's." I said, leaving with him.

Anya dragged Xander into a dark room, filled with incesnse and candles. There was a pentagram in the center and a throne just past that, as well as a computer system. Anya threw Xander's body in front of the throne, where witches had gathered, chanting.

"Here he is." Anya said, licking the blood from her fangs.

Xander panted against the floor and smiled upward, "He got away." He said triumphantly.

"He freed the boy and knocked Riley out." Anya explained.

"I almost had him." Oz growled, walking in behind them.

"So what do we do now, Powerful One?" Any asked.

Willow leaned forward, the veins in her face glowing in the candle light. Her long, dark hair floating over her shoulders and her dark robes blended with her surroundings, "Find him. I know where he's going." She frowned, "Pack up, kids, we're going to Sunnydale."

"So, what are we going to do to him?" Anya asked, pointing as Xander.

Willow looked down at him, "Kill him." She smirked.

Oz transformed and Anya vamped out, jumping on Xander and ripping him apart!
