Turn of Events

Gay

By the time we started work, Parker was in a normal mood.

He finished tutoring one kid and now the both of us were just surfing the net and talking to help pass the time.

Outwardly I felt ok about the whole cafeteria incident, but it did make me angry. Apparently I was still pissed off about the whole thing because when Grant walked in with his backpack all those fucking feelings came flooding back to me.

Now I know I shouldn't have been pissed at Grant, but I associated Grant with Blair and all those idiotic football people and all the people in high school. Deep down I knew he was better than others, but at the moment I wasn't thinking rationally. I usually needed more time to calm down, but I didn't have time on my side.

He slowly walked over to me, his steps hesitant, and his face weary and concerned.

Parker and I glanced at him and I wordlessly got up and went over to a table, with Grant following behind me. I sat down silently and waited for Grant to get his stuff organized.

He was still watching me, as if cautious that I would blow up at him.

"So is it Calc today?" I asked, my voice sounding angry and cold to my ears even.

His blue eyes darted to mine questioningly and he frowned slightly.

I currently hated Grant for being so damned hot right now. When he frowned, he kind of pouted, and his lips were just too tempting in my current state of mind. And it was just hard in general to stay mad at hot people. Damn you Grant, Damn you!!!

"Are you ok?" he pressed.

I sighed, running my fingers through my dark hair, "I'm fine. Let's just get on with the tutoring, ok?"

"Why are you so mad?" Grant asked, looking a little hurt. Seeing his hurt expression pained me. He seriously looked like a beaten puppy and I felt bad because I caused that.

"I just had a bad day at school. Sorry for taking it out on you," I said looking at the table.

"I'm sorry about what happened at lunch today," Grant blurted out.

My eyes snapped towards his, "Why are you sorry? You didn't do it. That idiot, Blair, did."

Grant shrugged and looked away, "Well, he's my best friend. Sometimes I feel a little responsible for his actions. And knowing you, you're probably mad at me too, even though I wasn't there; just because I'm his friend and I'm on the football team or because I live in Texas. Guilty by association."

I looked at him with surprise and a little insulted. Wow, he was tentative. He seemed to know me well enough. Well, shit.

He smirked at my shock, "Like you said, Pete. I'm not dumb. I know how much you hate Blair and this place and how people here disgust and piss you off. I understand and I don't blame you for how you feel. That's why you're not your usual self towards me today."

I was silent as I processed everything he said.

Grant cocked his head, "Am I right?" he asked sweetly.

I had to grin at him, even as I rubbed the back of my neck, for once at a loss for words.

"Yeah, I guess you are," I admitted full blown smiling now, as was Grant. He looked a little relieved, as well.

"Either way, I'm still sorry. It shouldn't have happened," Grant said becoming serious.

I sighed, "Well, it did, can't change it. I'll get over it. I just need some time. I have to constantly remind myself I'm not in New York anymore, so I should be on the lookout for shit like this. When I see Blair later, I have a feeling that shit is gonna hit the fan."

Grant chuckled, "Well you're in luck, Mr. Liu. Blair has a date tonight. He won't be home so early."

I smiled, "Wow, Grant, that's like the best news I ever heard in my life. Thanks."

He winked, "Glad to be of service."

I laughed, "Ok, now that all this awkwardness is out of the way, what do you say we seriously get on with this tutoring?"

He nodded, "Sounds good to me."

As we worked, I couldn't help the tiny smile that constantly tugged at my lips, and Grant was smiling for the most part as we idly chatted throughout the session.

Grant had really lifted my mood.

"I'm finally getting this crap," Grant grumbled and I smiled at his attitude. It was more endearing than annoying.

"Well good, because we've been at it for awhile. So if you didn't get it at this point, I would have to rethink you intelligence level," I said stretching.

"Are you having dinner at my house tonight?" I asked, surprising both myself and Grant. The question had popped out of my mouth before I could even stop to think about it. But the question was out there, there was no taking it back.

Grant cocked his head and slowly smiled, nodding, "Yeah, I think I will."

I smiled, "Good, because I don't know if I could deal with having dinner with just Kelly and David. I mean things are less awkward with David now, but I've become so accustomed to fighting with Blair at dinner, that talking only to adults seriously freaks me out."

Grant leaned backwards, throwing his head and laughing, "Well like I said, glad to be of service."

We stood up and gathered our school stuff.

Parker glanced at us and I smiled at him.

Some girl, who I think was either a sophomore or junior and on the swim team at school was sitting with Parker. He was checking her math homework, but it seemed he was looking more at her than at her homework.

I smirked at him and he blushed.

I waved, "Later Parker."

He waved back and returned to gawking at the girl, while I followed Grant outside.

"Need a ride?"

I nodded; Parker usually drove me to work. Other than that, I didn't need a car, because Jet only lived a short distance from my house.

I got into Grant's pickup and we listened to some music on the way.

When we got home, the house appeared dark and quiet. I walked inside and wasn't hit with the smell of Kelly's cooking.

This had happened before and it usually meant that David and Kelly were out having dinner on their own. I actually thought it was cute, that they were married and still made time for dates.

I guess it was the soddy ol' romantic in me. I didn't know I had that in me. What the hell was Texas doing to me?

"I guess they're out," Grant said stating the obvious. I nodded in agreement.

"Must be their date night," Grant said meeting my eyes.

I tilted my head, "Grant, you know this family so well and you're here all the time, you may as well move in or something."

He smiled faintly, "Yeah, sometimes I would like to," and he left it at that.

"Well, I can't cook or anything, so I'm gonna go for canned soup and a sandwich. Sound good to you?" I asked peering into the fridge and the cupboard, reaching for the stuff I needed.

Grant smiled and sat down, "How nice, you're making me food."

I shot him a look, "Well don't get use to this treatment. I'm hardly this nice."

"For some reason, I don't believe that," Grant said quietly.

"What?" I asked slightly confused.

"Well, I agree with you. You're not nice all the time and certainly not to everyone," he said and I continued to stare at him, "but the people you're friends with and really like, you're really nice. You care about them and you're really loyal," he finished, never taking his eyes away from mine, "You're one of those people who don't get fazed by high school shit, like reputation, appearances and stuff like that."

I shrugged, "You're right, I don't really care about that. I have my friends and I'm happy, so that's all that matters."

"That's a good outlook," Grant commented.

I poured some soup into a pan, "That's the only way to live man. Worrying about everyone else and what they think is far too tiring. I like to focus my energy on other important things, like my friends, family, school and stuff."

"You're so different," Grant said and I raised my eyebrows at the randomness of the statement. I looked at him, waiting for him to elaborate.

"I've never met anyone like you before. How are you so, I don't know, strong and collected?" he asked.

I smiled, "You've never been out of Texas. There are loads of people like me out there. It's my New York upbringing."

He shook his head, "I still think you'd be different." He gazed at me, studying me for a long while.

I stirred the soup in the pot and got started making those sandwiches to keep myself busy and occupied.

Grant and our normal light conversations were getting deeper, and for some reason that both excited and scared me. This was too conflicting.

We were silent as I prepared the food and he watched me. I swear my heart was pounding the entire time, which was weird! I don't get reactions like that! I could use some back up now. Where was Jet and her non-stop talking when you needed it, huh?

Luckily the food was done and I placed the sandwiches on plates and handed them to Grant. He placed them on the table and waited as I placed our bowls of soup in front of us.

The serious mood was broken and Grant and I were back to talking leisurely and getting to know each other a little better.

"So you don't play sports?" he asked.

I shook my head, "Nope. I can do sports when the time calls for it, but I don't go out of my way to do them."

"Do you work out?"

"Not really. I mean, I walk everywhere, but I don't go to a gym. I do my own exercises on my own time, and I run occasionally. You never know when you need to run like a track star to stay out of trouble," I said.

"Are you a fast runner?"

I shrugged, "I'm ok. I hate hitting the gym or anything because I feel like I'm wasting hours pumping iron or something. I'm skinny and I doubt I'll ever get fat."

Grant eyed me, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

I smiled, "If you think about it, running is the only useful sport out there. I remember last year, Danny and I went to this club with his cousin. His cousin knew the owners so we got in even though we were underage and I forget the details, but his cousin did something shady and then we had to bolt. But our car was parked like ten blocks away, so we were hauling ass. My friend Danny is shorter than me, but he is one speedy fucker!"

Grant laughed.

I eyed him, "You know, you should visit me in New York over the summer or something. You would love it. It's completely different and wild things can happen there, on any given night."

He tilted his head, "You'd want me to come?"

"Yeah, sure. I mean, I see you three times a week for tutoring and you're not a bad guy. I can actually hold an intellectual conversation with you, so you rank right up there with Jet, Lawrence, and Parker, who I'm also bugging to visit, by the way."

He nodded and glanced at his food, "I'd like to visit you."

"Great. I suck at planning stuff, but Julie will totally be stalking you until you come over. She always takes care of my stuff, or at least the organizing part," I said.

"So what's it like in New York?"

"Well, that's a really broad question," I replied, "There's everything there. That's the only way to describe it."

Grant looked at me, waiting for me to elaborate.

I put my spoon back in my bowl, "For one thing, there's a lot more diversity and it's ugly and real and gritty. People are more open and aware of important issues and people are just different. Not just races, but the interests out there. There's artistic people and business people. And the nightlife is amazing. There's like, crazy nightlife or cultural nightlife. There's so much to choose from," I said smiling.

Grant was smiling as well as he looked at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Your entire face lights up when you're talking about New York."

I grinned, "I can't help it; I love it there."

Grant lowered his voice, "So uh, have you seen a lot, of you know, gay people?" he asked quietly.

I smirked, "Well I don't run into them on a daily basis, but yeah, I see them around. They go out too, you know."

"I know," he said bashfully.

"And there's gay culture in the city. I mean, the village? Christopher Street?"

"And you're ok with gay people?" Grant asked.

I frowned, "Well of course I am. They're people too, Grant. Just like us."

Grant's eyes widened, "No, of course! I have no problem with gay people."

I eyed him.

There was a lull in the conversation and Grant seemed to be pondering something and he was frowning.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

He shook his head, "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm just thinking about something."

I shrugged, "Fair enough. But thinking on a Friday night isn't cool. So wanna watch a movie?"

"Sure, what kind?"

"I got tons of Chinese DVDs, and that's about it. I mean, half my school sent me DVDs and they have subtitles."

Grant nodded, "Ok, sounds good."

I stood up, "Alright, let me go upstairs and get one and then I'll bring it down here. I usually watch it on my laptop, but this TV down here is bigger."

I quickly ascended the stairs and into my room, going towards my closest where I had thrown all my Christmas gifts in.

I rummaged around the DVDs, glancing at various titles and wondering which one to pick.

I finally picked House of Flying Daggers. I liked both the main male actors and the main actress was really pretty, so Grant could have some eye candy too. And there were some awesome fight scenes as well and a nice love story for the queen in me. A win win situation.

I turned around and let out a startled yelp as I hit Grant's broad, firm chest.

I was panting, trying to regain my breath, "Dude!"

Grant shrugged, "Sorry," he murmured.

"What are you doing? I said I'd be right back," I said frowning.

He nodded slowly, "I know, I just needed to try something."

"Try what?" I asked not understanding.

He didn't answer me. Instead he stepped forward and wrapped his muscular arms around my waist, pulling me into him and he planted his lips directly on top of mine.

His lips were only there for two seconds before I regained my wits. I was so shocked at the turn of events that instead of returning the kiss, which any gay man should have since Grant was fucking hot, I ended up pushing him away, quite forcefully.

Grant was bigger than me so he barely stumbled backwards.

"What are you doing?" I asked, not angrily, but a little harshly.

Grant was breathing hard and looked like he didn't know how to respond.

We were silent, looking at each other.

I was expectant.

Grant looked fearful.

Finally, he looked down at his feet with shame, "You won't tell," he said, glancing up at me.

Looking directly in his eyes, I shook my head, "Of course not."

"You're not surprised or shocked that a Texas bred football jock is a fag?" he snapped, suddenly bitter.

I was a little taken aback with his tone and quick change of emotion.

"Listen Grant, you know I don't care if you're gay. I don't have problems with that. I like you for who you are, not who you're attracted to."

"But I'm attracted to you!" he exclaimed.

I swallowed and ran my fingers through my hair, "Uh, yeah, I kinda got that from the kiss."

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. It's just that we were talking and I felt so comfortable with you, and I've kind of had a thing for you since the beginning," Grant rambled.

"Really?" I asked, genuinely surprised.

Grant ran his fingers through his blond curls and again I got lost in the action.

Since when was I attracted to blonds with curly hair? How things change.

"Yeah. I mean, first, I was intrigued by you. I mean everyone was, since you were from New York and all, but then I got to know you, and you're different. Not just because you're from New York, but you're just...you have an amazing personality and all these good qualities. I just couldn't stop thinking about you," Grant said, a pink tinge arriving on his tanned skin.

"And I thought since you were always so ok with the gay thing, like Parker-"

"Parker's not gay," I interrupted; angered by the rumour that Blair must have started.

Grant shook his head, "No, I know, but you were ok with the idea before you even knew Parker wasn't gay, so I thought that maybe you might be gay too, or at least if I made a move on you, you wouldn't hate me" he said in a small voice peeking a glance at me.

I stared into his bright blue eyes, not knowing how to respond. I wasn't one to hide or lie, and I did trust him, but I really didn't want to start something with Grant, when things would never work out anyway.

I licked my lips and glanced away.

Why was this so hard for me? I usually said whatever was on my mind.

"Pete?" Grant asked timidly looking at me.

I couldn't take his large blue eyes that seemed to be looking right through me. I sighed and craned my neck, rubbing it with my hand, "Ok Grant. I am gay."

He perked up, but then tilted his head studying me, "Really? Or are you just saying that?"

I laughed, "Who would just say that? In Texas of all places? I may be a jerk sometimes, but I don't go looking for a beating."

"So how come you didn't want to kiss me?" Grant pressed.

I sighed again avoiding his eyes.

"Do you not like me?" he asked, sounding crestfallen and the lost hurt look on his face was literally heartbreaking for me.

People as beautiful as Grant shouldn't be hurt like that.

"Grant, it's not that-"

"Then what is it?" he continued in that hurt tone.

"Grant, why are you making this so hard?" I blurted out in frustration.

He frowned, still looking hurt, but a little confused as well, "What?"

"What if I did like you?" I burst out, "Then what? What do you want from me? To fool around, a few fucks here and there? Nothing can happen between us, Grant! I'm leaving soon."

Grant looked stunned at everything I said and just gawked at me.

"I don't want to just fool around with you," and he started blushing, "And I don't only want to, uh, you know, um, have sex with you. I really like you. I want to be with you. And I do know you're leaving soon," he said quietly.

I held my arms up, "Then why even bother, Grant? It's pointless. I'm gonna go back to New York and we're never gonna see each other again," I said stubbornly.

"So you do like me then?" Grant said, a small smile playing on his lips.

"You're not even listening to me," I groaned.

"I am listening," Grant insisted, still smiling.

"Why are you smiling?" I demanded.

"Can I kiss you again?" Grant asked, shuffling his feet in an adorable manner.

"What! No!"

"I really like you, Pete," Grant said softly, stepping closer to me, "And even though I know I'm stupid for going after you when you're leaving, I can't help myself. You're here now, I'm here now and I can't seem to control myself," Grant explained.

My eyes snapped to his as he inched closer to me. I held my hand out as a barrier, "Grant, stop. We can't do this. We both know that."

He continued heading towards me and to compensate, I kept moving backwards.

He bit his lip, staring at my mouth intently and I was seriously getting nervous here.

I turned and tried to leave the room, but Grant was faster and just as my hand clasped around the doorknob, the door slammed shut and I was spun around until my back was pinned against it. I heard him turn the lock on the door and I gulped.

Grant was directly in front of me, so close, our lips were almost touching.

"Grant, stop," I whispered, "We can't."

He pressed his warm lips on top of mine and I tried placing my hands on his chest to push him away, but he had better leverage and was overall just stronger than I was.

I gave muffled cries as I struggled to get free, but I gasped when Grant grabbed my wrists and pulled them over my head, pinning them with one hand.

With my mouth open, his tongue slipped inside and began rolling around my tongue and the sensation was overwhelming. I've kissed guys before, but not guys I actually had romantic interests in.

I felt an immediate spark as our kiss continued and his mouth was so warm and inviting that I found my tongue duelling with his as we both opened wider for each other.

His other hand slid up my shirt, slowly caressing my chest, his thumb brushing against my left nipple and I moaned into his kiss.

Grant pulled back and we were both breathing hard. He placed a few soft kisses on my lips, but took my arms and placed them around his neck, while his own arms went around my waist and we sort of hugged, with our foreheads leaning against each other.

"I like kissing you," he murmured and I couldn't help chuckling.

I sighed when Grant's lips worked their way to my neck and he began to gently suck on my sensitive spot and my legs actually buckled and I fell forward into him.

We started kissing again, and my feet were moving, but I had no idea where I was moving to.

Then I felt myself falling until I flopped onto my mattress and Grant was looming over me. He leaned over me, supporting his weight with his arms and returned his lips to mine, slipping his tongue into my accepting mouth.

All that could be heard in my quiet room were heavy breathing and lips smacking together.

I cupped his neck and let my fingers get tangled in his blond curls that I was so obsessed with. I pulled his head forward, deepening the kiss and I thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of Grant's hot, hard body on top of mine.

Grant thrust his pelvis into my groin and we both moaned in pleasure. I could feel his throbbing hardness through both of our clothing.

I was panting at this point and I just wanted to rip all of Grant's clothes off.

Apparently Grant had the same idea because his hands were lifting my shirt off and I leaned up slightly to help him and he quickly pulled his own shirt over his head.

I lay back and took in the sight of Grant's perfect body.

Broad, built, and tan, with muscles rippling, I think I just got even harder.

His chest was smooth and developed; his abs were rippling. This guy obviously worked out. I ran my hands across his chest and then around towards his lower back.

His eyes were drinking in my naked torso as well, and even though I didn't think I looked half as impressive as he did, he must have liked what he saw, from the way his eyes were gleaming with lust.

I guess my pale skin and skinny body turned him on. Hell, whatever works.

"Fuck Pete, you're so beautiful," he murmured, his voice holding tinges of awe.

"No," I shook my head, "You are," causing him to smile at me before he leaned down to kiss my again.

As we kissed, his hands wandered down my abdomen to the waist band of my jeans and I felt him tugging at the button. When he finally got it opened, I lifted my hips and helped him pull my jeans down until I was clad only in my boxers. While he was slowly pushing my boxers down my thighs, I worked on his belt and pulling off his jeans.

With one hard yank, his boxers and jeans were around his knees as he hovered over me and I grinned at his shocked expression.

I studied his body which was perfect. He was tan all over and had a light blond dusting on his stomach that led to a darker shade of blond on his pubes. And his hard cock was pointing straight up at me.

I sat up and pushed him down onto the bed and then I stretched out on top of him.

Our hot naked bodies were already sweaty and rubbing against one another and I smiled as I lined up our hard, dripping cocks, and then I began to move in a thrusting motion.

Grant moaned and his hands gripped my hips as I began to slide our cocks against each other's faster and faster.

"Pete," he moaned, his eyes closed; his curls along his forehead.

I pecked his lips and rotated my hips a little as I rubbed against him. He groaned his approval and I could hear him breathing faster and I knew he was close.

Supporting my weight by resting on top of him, I began to fondle his balls with one hand while rubbing the tip of his cock with the other and I heard Grant cry out. Then his back arched and his body tensed beneath mine and I felt his cock expand, throb, burst, and then a hot liquid hitting my stomach and groin area.

All this triggered my own release and I shuddered and convulsed as I came, my hands gripping Grant's chest. My own cum was added to the mess already in my crotch and stomach area and I just lay on top of Grant, not moving, trying to catch my breath.

With every rise and fall of Grant's chest, I moved up and down as well. It was a very calming feeling.

But then I became aware of reality and the fact that I was in bed with Blair's best friend, I was naked, and covered in cum.

I reluctantly began to push myself up into a sitting position, but was restrained when Grant's hands held me in place.

"Where are you going?" he asked quietly.

"We have to clean up," I said wriggling free, "As fun as lying in bed with you is, if we get too comfortable and fall asleep, we'll both have a lot of explaining to do and although I get to leave soon, you won't."

Grant nodded and sat up as well, looking bummed, "But I wanna lie around with you, naked," he said smiling.

I smirked, "Of course you do," I said and then kissed him softly on the lips.

When he reached for his clothes on the floor, I whistled and he spun around to face me.

"You're fucking gorgeous," I said in a leering tone, winking and Grant blushed, before he laughed and lunged at me, hugging my body tightly.

I laughed as he peppered my neck with kisses, "I didn't know Texas made men so hot. I should get out more instead of just hanging around Jet and tutoring all day."

Grant shook his head, "Nu-uh. No going out for you. You're all mine," he said into my ear.

"Mmm," I mumbled as I kissed him.

We went to the bathroom and cleaned ourselves up, between kisses and some groping, and then we got dressed, which took a long longer than it should have. I admit there was some fondling going on.

What do you expect with two horny teenagers?

I buttoned my jeans and then looked at Grant, "So seriously man, do you want to watch that movie we were supposed to watch before you jumped me?" I asked.

Grant smiled and blushed, glancing away briefly, before meeting my eyes again, "Yeah, ok."

I smiled and took the DVD in one hand and reaching for Grant's with the other.

He smiled at the action.

No one else was home, so there was no reason to hide anything. And when everyone came home, we would figure it out then.

I decided to give in to my little crush, even if it meant heartbreak when I left and trouble for Grant.

I didn't like where this was going, but I couldn't stop myself. I was too attracted to Grant.

I believe I just dug myself into a pile of shit.

Friday night was amazing and it was hard for me to fall asleep, knowing Grant was in the guest room.

Kelly and David had come home and Blair came home shortly afterwards. The good thing about Grant and Blair being best friends is that no one would ever be suspicious of why Grant was over all the time. And Blair couldn't question us hanging out around the house watching a movie, especially when Grant had the quick answer of telling him he stopped by for dinner but Kelly and David weren't home and easily deflected further questions by asking Blair about his date. And then Grant slept over as he did many nights.

So in that sense, it was good to have Blair. I liked seeing Grant around.

But being Saturday morning, I had to work and then go over to Jet's for the weekly gathering and I had a feeling I wouldn't be good company, trying to keep a hot secret like this.

I walked into the tutoring center and saw Grant waiting at our usual table. I was shocked to say the least. We never got together on Saturdays to study. He usually spent his time with Blair and whatever, while I worked and hung out with my own little group at Jet's house. He gave me a shy smile and I really just wanted to jump over the table and kiss him.

"Hey Grant. What are you doing here?" I asked sitting beside him.

He shrugged, "I wanted to see you," he murmured, blushing.

I grinned, "Really?"

He nodded.

"You're sweet," I murmured and he looked up, flashing a small smile, "Did you at least bring some of your books?"

He nodded again.

"Good," I said, "It would be weird if you didn't have anything at all with you."

Grant seemed to be embarrassed or something because he was avoiding my gaze.

"So I think last night we got a bit out of hand," I said.

He looked up, blinking confusedly and frowning, "What?"

"Well, it just seemed like we both came out to one another and then started making out, and then stripped naked and we got it on like animals," I said grinning, causing Grant to blush further, "I feel kind of like a slut."

Grant finally looked up at me, "Well, I won't tell people you're a slut, if you won't tell people that I'm one."

"You got yourself a deal," I said, mockingly shaking his hand.

"So, I was wondering," Grant began, fidgeting, "Since you're from New York and all, you must have, well you must have more, uh, um, more experience with this stuff, I mean, with guys or something."

I smiled at his nervous chatter, "Well not exactly. I'm not even 18 yet and it's not like I can hit the clubbing scene too often. I've met guys but we never did much more than make out and jack each other off. And even though there were some gay guys in high school, we didn't fool around just because we were all gay. That's not really how it works."

"No, I know," Grant said flushing.

"So, I'm assuming I was your first man on man experience?" I asked.

He nodded.

"Did you like it?" I teased.

His eyes shot to mine, "Yeah!"

I chuckled and Grant covered his face with his hands, "Shit, sorry. That came out way to loudly. I'm awkward."

I laughed, "You're not," I said pulling his hands away, "You're just new to all this. And it's the morning after type embarassment, thing. It's cute, actually."

"You don't have a boyfriend?" he asked.

I shook my head, "Nope."

"Why not?" Grant wondered.

"Well, I'm young and I was focusing on school, my family, and friends. I mean, I have plenty of time for dating and all that stuff. Especially when I went to college. I mean, NYU, it's artsy and I'm sure I would have met tons of guys, plus I would be legal to hit all those clubs," I replied.

"I'd miss you," Grant said quietly.

"What?"

"I'd miss you," Grant repeated, "And everyday I would be jealous of the guy that gets you," he said faintly.

I looked away, because everything was getting too intense. I knew this would happen and that's why I didn't want to start anything.

See what a shit pile I dug myself into?

"I'm sorry," I said, not knowing what else to say.

"Don't be," Grant said, "I knew what I was getting into and what would happen. But it doesn't change how I feel."

"I know Grant. I will miss you, too."

Grant cleared his throat and I looked at him expectantly, "Uh, well, while you are here, do you think we could hang out? I mean, spend some time together?"

I smiled. Grant was the perfect combination: hot and non-obnoxious.

"Yeah, I'll pencil you into my busy schedule," I said grinning, "You just have to give me twenty four hours notice."

He stared at me, "I want to kiss you," he said softly.

My eyes widened, but luckily, barely anyone came in for tutoring on Saturdays or weekends in general.

"Well, we could, but someone might walk in," I responded in the same quiet tone.

Grant sighed and made a face," I know," he pouted.

"So do you need any actual help today or what?" I asked.

He shrugged, "Not really."

"So you just came to see me, eh?" I drawled out winking and he ducked his head.

"Yeah, I guess I did," he admitted.

"I'm glad you did. I like seeing you, especially after last night," I said.

"Me too."

We spent the remainder of my shift just talking, writing notes to each other in our notebooks, making jokes. I have to say that I definitely enjoyed every minute I spent with Grant.

I was actually a little bummed when work ended and I had to go to Jet's house. And when I told Grant that, he smiled widely.

"I don't think that's ever happened before. A time when I wasn't eager to go to Jet's house," I mused.

"Wow, I knew I was good, but I didn't know I was that good," Grant joked as he stood up, getting ready to leave.

"Yeah, you're a stud," I said eyeing him up and down.

"Stop that," he said blushing, "you're making me feel like a piece of meat."

I stared into his eyes and licked my lips slowly and I saw his face turn even redder and he was wiping his brow.

"You're too easy Grant," I said, "I can't help it."

He bumped his shoulder against mine as we headed towards the exit after I signed out.

"Need a ride?" he asked as he headed to his car.

"Yeah, do you know where Jet lives?"

Grant nodded, "The next neighbourhood over from your house, right?"

I nodded.

We drove in comfortable silence and at one point Grant reached over and took my hand, massaging it in his.

I couldn't contain the smile on my face throughout the entire ride.

When I saw Jet's house within view, Grant suddenly pulled over into a deserted dead end area close to her house and I looked at him with confusion.

I didn't get to ask him anything before I saw his face coming towards mine and I felt his lips and his tongue pushing against my mouth.

Parting my lips, I sought out his tongue with my own and I closed my eyes as our tongues battled hungrily.

When we broke apart, my face felt flushed.

"I just wanted to kiss you since I don't know when I'll get a chance to next," Grant explained, "Want me to pull up in front of the house."

"No, that's ok," I said pushing the door open, "I can walk."

"Alright, bye," Grant said and I waved, slamming the door shut.

I felt my face smiling as I walked up Jet's lawn and entered her house without even knocking. I ventured inside and to the outdoors patio where I knew Lawrence and Jet were already waiting.

Instead I only found Jet.

"Hey!" she greeted warmly.

"Where's everyone else?"

"Oh Lawrence is on his way and Parker said he'll be here in an hour. He had to run some errand for his grandmother," she explained, filling a glass with lemonade. She offered me some, but I declined.

"What's with the smile?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at me.

"What do you mean?" I asked innocently.

"I've seen you smile before but you never looked this happy. What happened? What deviant thing did you do now, Pete Liu?" she questioned.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I said, walking inside the house and into the kitchen.

"You're lying. Tell me what's going on," she demanded.

"I can't tell you something if there's nothing to tell," I said pulling open her freezer.

"That's harsh Pete. I thought we were friends," she said in mock anger.

I sighed and looked at her, "Well I can't tell you especially if it's going to affect someone else."

She frowned, "What do you mean?"

"I really can't say. Maybe one day when the timing is right, but I can't now," I said seriously.

She studied my serious expression and slowly nodded, "Fine, I can respect that."

"Good."

And true to her word, she let the matter drop as Lawrence arrived.
