Tracy's Epiphany, Chapter 3
Tracy awoke in the morning, not feeling anxious, but experiencing a bit of wariness. He wondered how Clete would react to what they'd done the night before. It had been mutual, yet Tracy had made the first move.
Propping himself up on his left elbow, he studied the face of his sleeping companion. Clete looked so innocent and relaxed. He really was a good-looking guy.
Clete roused and opened his eyes. The minute he focused on Tracy's face, he broke into a broad smile. He'd long dreamed of waking up like this. He hoped he wasn't still dreaming!
"I'd love to kiss you, but I should probably brush my teeth first," Clete said.
"If your breath is bad, it's probably because of my cum."
"It tasted good last night!"
"So, you're okay with last night?" Tracy hoped.
"I am as long as it wasn't just a one-night stand."
"It wasn't for me. How soon can you move in with me?"
"As soon as we get back to school."
Their conversation was again interrupted by Chuck. This time, he was tapping on the door.
"Come in," Clete called.
Clete slid over toward Tracy to make space for Chuck to sit on the edge of the bed.
"Mom wants to know if you'll be ready for breakfast in 15 minutes. It's going to be a big one to hold us until 1:00 PM when the turkey should be done."
"We can run through the shower and dress by then," Clete said.
"Good! I'm hungry and I'll bet you guys are too," Chuck grinned. "You probably have more reason to be than I do."
Tracy and Clete shared the bathroom to speed things up. They didn't shower together. It wasn't because they were embarrassed to, but it had to do with getting shaved and brushing their teeth. Besides, they might have been tempted to get off again if they had done so, and there wasn't time.
There was no missing their joyful mood at breakfast, but no one drew attention to it. Ed and Lucinda took a kind of "don't ask; don't tell" position, and that was fine with the guys.
Chuck was eager to play some one-on-one in the driveway, and the other two took turns playing with him. He had enough energy that it was a good thing the college boys could alternate.
Dinner was like a feast. The wine Tracy had brought went well with the meal, and everyone appreciated it, including Chuck who was allowed to have it in moderation. No one else drank heavily, so he didn't have to feel the need to keep up with the adults.
The TV in the living room was tuned to one football game, and the little one is Clete's bedroom was set on another station. Ed was glued to the living room one. Clete and Tracy were propped up on the new bed watching the one in that room. Chuck bounced between the two rooms trying to watch both teams at the same time.
The score was so lopsided in the game the guys were watching that they lost interest and fell asleep holding hands. After that, Chuck stayed in the living room to keep his father company.
Lucinda, who had risen early to put the bird in the oven, took a long nap in the master bedroom. Sleep was more important to her than football.
On Friday after lunch, Tracy and Clete headed back to school after exchanging hugs with Clete's family. It had been a great break, but the two were eager to return and move Clete's possessions into Tracy's apartment.
The guys had a little shopping to do as well. First, they stopped at Walmart and went to the hardware department to find four small clamps to secure the twin bed frames tightly together. They continued to the bedding area and added a king sized mattress topper, pad, set of sheets and pillowcases, and a duvet of that size as well.
When they got back to the apartment, they turned the two beds into one large sleeping area which they dubbed their "playpen." Once it was made up, they found places for Clete's clothes and other personal items in the closet and bureau.
By the time they'd finished, it was going toward 6:00, so they warmed up the leftovers Lucinda had sent home with them and sat down to eat. It was nice not to have to cook that night.
A little later, they watched a movie on TV. This time, instead of sitting in separate places, they both sat on the sofa. At first, they just held hands. After a bit, they snuggled under a light blanket. It turned into a quiet, domestic scene.
"You interested in taking a shower and going to bed?" Tracy asked when the show was over.
"Sure, as long as we don't have to go right to sleep," Clete grinned.
While stripping off their clothes, they realized this was the first time they'd had the chance to really study one another's body for any length of time. Clete was still starstruck by Tracy's athletic good looks. Tracy was just as enamored with Clete's body. What he felt was more love than lust, though the latter was certainly present.
The shower was just big enough to hold two adult males. It soon felt more crowded as their cocks grew between them. They managed to wash one another with the lightly scented gel Tracy had. He suggested that he could shampoo Clete's hair with the same multipurpose substance if he were to kneel. Clete agreed and quickly knelt on the shower floor where he found himself facing one of Tracy's better assets. As Tracy rubbed the lather into his hair, Clete nuzzled the prize before him.
After he had finished rinsing, Tracy helped Clete up and traded places. He spent the time licking Clete's balls until the latter thought he might explode before they made it to the bedroom.
In the bedroom, they chose to keep a light on so they could enjoy the scenery. Although their summer tans were fading, there was still a decided difference between the skin which had been covered and that which had been exposed to the rays of the sun. The milky white hue of their buns and groins made it more obvious that these were private areas.
They spent a good deal of time kissing and licking those intimate places. There was no hurry. Their vocal expressions of lust didn't need to be stifled because there wasn't anyone else in the apartment and probably no one in the whole building.
A sudden clap of thunder from an approaching storm startled them. The change in barometric pressure had an effect on them as well. When the rain began to pound on the roof, it too seemed to increase their desire.
Tracy turned around from the 69-position they'd been in and started to thrust his junk against Clete's. Clete joined in. For several minutes, they humped together, rolling over back and forth so that neither was on top all of the time. Adding tongue-wrestling to the mix soon put them over the edge. With gasps and inarticulate expressions of ecstasy, they spewed big loads between them.
When it was over, it wasn't really finished. They continued to writhe and kiss in the afterglow. Eventually, they lay on their backs holding hands.
"Wow!" Tracy sighed. "That was absolutely awesome!
"It's so much different from what I've ever experienced. Of course, I don't have a lot of experience, as you know."
"You've had more than I have because I've never been with a woman. I've never had the desire either." Clete said.
"And we've both been with the same man. I suppose we should be grateful to Matt for teaching us how to pleasure another guy. You definitely know how to use your tongue!"
"You do too. But it's special with you like it wasn't with Matt. I think it's because it's not just sex. Am I making sense here?"
"Yup. You and I have emotions that don't end when the orgasms are over."
"Do you think it's love or are we rebounding?" Clete asked, wondering if he'd gone too far.
"In basketball, rebounding is an important part of playing the game. I made a lot of points in high school doing that. So, I'd say if this is a rebound, it could lead to good things. I do know that what I feel for you is stronger than what I've felt for anyone before."
"That's good enough for me. I feel the same for you."
The rest of the term moved along quickly. Final exams were upon them less than a month after Thanksgiving. Stacy and Clete kept up their studies, so they were prepared. Both knew they'd done well. When the grades were posted, there weren't any unpleasant surprises.
As they'd planned, they spent a few days with Clete's parents. Tracy was thankful to be able to be with people who welcomed him. He wasn't at all apprehensive about the trip because of the pleasant time he'd spent in that household over the last holiday season. It was nice to know he had a place to go. No one in his family had communicated with him at all since October.
Christmas with Clete's family was even better than Thanksgiving had been. Tracy had been included in the name-drawing for presents and had to buy something for Chuck. It wasn't difficult for him to find a gift for the young basketball star. He purchased a Spalding Cross Court ball which took $35.00 of the $50 limit and added a fancy jockstrap to round it up. Chuck was thrilled with both.
Tracy received an air fryer he'd wanted but hadn't felt he should buy for himself. He thought it went above the limit, but Lucinda assured him that she'd found it on the Internet on Black Friday at a good price.
Lucinda's present was a rice cooker that she had been hoping for. Ed got a gift certificate to have his pickup detailed. Clete received a spring jacket which he needed. Everyone was pleased that they done the exchange so that they had one usable thing instead of a lot of little gifts. They vowed to do it again the next year.
Several events took place during the spring term which would further cement their relationship. The first was quite unexpected and a bit bizarre.
In order to avoid being distracted, Clete was in the bedroom studying for a test in a class they didn't have in common. Tracy was working on a term paper on his laptop at the kitchen table when there was a knock on the door. He answered it to find Matt in the hallway.
"Um, what brings you here?" Tracy asked with a frown. "You made it quite clear that you didn't want anything to do with me."
"I'm here to beg forgiveness and ask a favor. Esther kicked me to the curb and I need a place to crash for a couple of days. I'm hoping I can patch things up with her."
"What happened? Did she find out you've been screwing around behind her back?"
"Uh, yeah. She went home for the weekend to visit her father who'd had a stent put in on Friday. But she got lonesome for me and came back unexpectedly this afternoon. I had a guy friend over and she caught me in what you might call a compromising position.
"I really need your help. I'll make it up to you. You know I give good head."
"Nope, I'm not interested. I've moved on, and I'm not about to mess up my new relationship. You can get a room at the motel. I don't want to be thought guilty of anything by association with you!"
"Look, I didn't mean any of those things. I was scared."
"Matt, you had your chance with me and threw it away. I should thank you because I've found a soulmate since you ditched me. You need to leave now!"
Matt turned away and Tracy shut the door behind his retreating figure. Clete came out of the bedroom applauding.
"I hadn't intended to eavesdrop but Matt's voice was too loud not to break my concentration. You made it clear where your loyalty lies. Bravo!"
"I'm glad you overheard because it saves me from having to repeat it. He has a lot of nerve coming to me for help. Jeez, he's so shallow!"
"How much more do you have to do on your paper?"
"About 15 minutes and then I'll put it to bed and read it over tomorrow with a fresh eye."
"Cool! I'm almost done too. I'd like to reward you for your faithfulness."
A second important thing which took place before spring break was that the guys received letters of acceptance from several graduate programs. Individually, they could have gone to several different schools. However, they were both accepted at Ohio State and The University of Texas, Austin. Ohio State was rated a bit lower than Texas, and they didn't like the idea of being in a colder climate in the winter. So, they decided to go to Texas despite the fact that the state wasn't particularly gay-friendly. That program was also a better deal financially.
They weren't about to consider a school where they couldn't be together despite whatever aid was offered. The notion of being separated didn't enter their minds.
This year, the pair spent part of their spring break in Austin, Texas. They felt it would be good to have a firsthand look at housing and employment options. The least expensive apartments for two people were married-housing units. Tracy decided to check with the dean to see what the requirements were for living in them.
"Well, obviously, you'd have to be married," the dean joked.
"Technically, I am. The divorce from my wife hasn't gone through yet. Could I apply for living there and leave my spouse's name off until I obtain another partner?"
"I suppose that's possible, but someone might make you show your marriage license if you did."
"Do you require that of everyone when they apply?"
"I'm not sure. I guess if they claim to be spouses, we don't necessarily make them prove it. Do you think you'd be wed again so quickly?"
"I could be if I needed to be in order to afford my graduate degree."
"Okay, I'll add you to the list if you fill out the form. You may simply put "and spouse" along with your name. That will assure you a spot. If you change your mind, please let me know. Although married housing isn't usually at a premium, there may be some last minute people needing it."
"Thanks! I appreciate your help."
"Um, is there something you've been keeping from me?" Clete asked on the way back to the car. "Where are you going to come up with a wife before August?"
"I suppose I've made some assumptions about our relationship. I thought you might consent to marry me once my divorce is finalized. When I told the dean I might have a spouse by fall term, I didn't say anything about a wife."
"So, you'd marry me to save a few bucks?"
"Never! That would be crass and cheap! I'd do it because I love you. This isn't just about having a buddy to get off with. I know this is coming out all wrong. I'm not good at being romantic."
"You really do love me?"
"YES!"
"Okay! That's romantic enough for me."
The two of them spent another night in a motel before going to Clete's parents' for Easter.
It's often said that, whether good or ill, things come in threes. The third bit of good news for Tracy was his divorce decree. It arrived a few days before graduation. With this document, he felt completely free of the past.
After graduation ceremonies concluded, the two guys went to the courthouse to formalize their union. Then they drove to Austin to take possession of their new apartment. It had two bedrooms and a number of amenities, including a queen sized bed which they were eager to christen.
