Steven spent his Monday evening re-cleaning what Mason attempted to clean, while he mostly did a good job, there were things that were missed and some things that needed repair and some things that couldn't be replaced. Tom apologized he couldn't help but had to be at tonight's meeting as it was mandatory.
Heather came over after work, Steven reluctantly let her in, expecting to hear the excuses she was going to make about her son. He politely asked her in, and she apologized for just showing up. She said she knew she was responsible for him as well, and asked if she could help.
Steven handed her a bucket and said the bathrooms need a good cleaning. She graciously accepted and took him by the arm and said, "I know you and I most likely won't see eye to eye, but I honestly want to help, let me know what the damages are, she would be glad to pay them. Mason will just have to work it off with her father. He's my child and he should have had more respect for his father and especially you, since this is your house and you were kind enough to let him stay."
She held his arm, and shook her head. She entered the downstairs bathroom and Steven continued with what he was doing.
Steven quickly corrected her, "We did not allow him to stay the weekend, he's a teenager and thought of it as an opportunity to throw this party, I would never allowed him to stay by himself."
He assessed the damage now that he had time to clear his mind from the shock he came home too. He knew some walls had to be repaired and painted, some things needed to be fixed. He was going to call an auction house to find out what the values were for the things broken. He noticed some things missing and started making a list. He wasn't happy that Tom wasn't there, but knew his job was important. He was surprised Heather even showed up. She totally did a 180 on him and didn't expect her to pitch in.
When Mason appeared after basketball practice, Steven just pointed to the door and said, "OUT. Not tonight."
Heather quickly came out of the bathroom and saw him standing there with his head down. She looked at him and said, "If you didn't come here to at least apologize, you heard what the man said, GO."
Mason turned with tears in his eye and headed out the door. Steven could see Heather was choked up, but she wiped the tears from her eyes and continued in the bathroom.
Steven was grateful for her help. After she cleaned the bathroom, she went into the downstairs guest bedroom and started cleaning the bathroom. She sobbed and Steven wanted to ignore her, but he turned walked in the room gave her hug and a kiss on the forehead. He wiped a tear from her eye and held her to her chest.
Heather apologized and returned to cleaning. Steven could hear the sniffles coming from the room, but decided its best just to leave her on her own.
Heather came out of the bedroom, and asked what was next. Steven asked, "Are you hungry, did you want me to have a pizza delivered?"
She shook her head yes and thanked him.
Heather went upstairs to one of the extra bedrooms, she screamed and Steven quickly ran upstairs to see what was wrong. Heather looked at the wall, and saw the broken glass on the antique picture of Tom's great-great grandfather. She knew the glass could be replaced, it was the marker that was used to draw a moustache on his face.
She took a picture and sent a text to someone. She picked up things and cleaned the room.
Steven's heart sank when he saw the picture Tom was so proud of and he proudly hung in that room. It was one more thing to add to the list for the appraiser. Jake walked in with the pizza, and announced dinner was here. Steven was glad and said, "I didn't hear the pizza boy come up the driveway."
Jake said, "I intercepted and paid the guy." He asked Steven how he was doing as he assessed the damage. Heather heard someone talking and she came down stairs and saw Jake with the pizza. They exchanged pleasantries and she went for her purse to pay him.
Jake said, "You both have enough to take care of, it's on me."
Heather and Steven continued into the night. Tom came home as soon as he could from the meeting. He was surprised to see Heather there, Steven could see he wasn't happy and he asked if he refrain from having a heated exchange with her. She's actually helping, Tom kissed Steven and promised to stay out of her way.
Steven kept space between the two as they finished the cleaning and assessing the damage. Heather was exhausted and thanked Steven for dinner and she wanted to know what the damage would be.
Steven gave her a hug before she left. Tom didn't say a word as he looked around. Steven pointed out what walls needed to be repaired and painted and also there was a hole in the wall upstairs.
Steven was exhausted and was ready to set down when there was a knock on the door. He opened and a man and woman stood outside. They seemed like they wanted to say something, and started apologizing, handing him an antique cut class vase that was his. They didn't know where their daughter got it from but she was trying to sell it on eBay. We got an anonymous call stating that most likely came from your house. We heard there was quite a party here when you were away.
Steven took the vase and thanked them for returning. He quickly shut the door and walked in the dining room and placed it on the table. That's when he heard the blood curdling scream from upstairs. Steven knew he had to block Tom from leaving, he had to calm him down before he did something drastic. Tom was obviously upset when he discovered the ruined picture, he held it in his hands as came out the room. He knew he would go after Mason and he didn't think Tom was in the right frame of mind to confront him. Steven blocked his way trying to rationalize when he should stay at home right now.
Sam heard the noise from outside and quickly ran into the house. He looked up the stairways to see Tom livid with picture in his hand. Sam quickly ran and stood next to Steven to block him from leaving the house. They both talked calmly and tried to soothe his anger.
Tom sat done on the top step and started to cry. He said the picture was ruined, and how angry he was. He started calling Heather all type of names out the frustration. He felt betrayed by his own son. He screamed at the top of his lungs to release the stress. Steven and Sam were frightened but they knew they had to stand their ground.
Jake returned and it was the three against him. They listened to Tom as he exploded about everything that happened and how he was a terrible father. Steven eventually sensed Tom was safe to approached and sat down next to and put his arms around him. He leaned in and gave him a kiss and a hug. Tom said he was tired and got up and headed to the bedroom. The three of them watch him as he closed the door behind him.
Steven comforted Sam and Jake, telling him it should be alright, he thanked them and walked them too the door. Jake said he should feel better in the morning.
Steven locked the door as the two walked back to their house. He turned and walked up the stairs, he didn't realize how tired he was. He opened the door and stripped off his clothes. He got into bed and wrapped his arms around Tom. Tom apologized for being an asshole and Steven hugged him tighter telling him how much he loved him.
When Steven woke up in the morning Tom was gone. He didn't hear him leave and wonder how long ago he left. He walked downstairs and found a note next to the coffee cup. He said he's taking the day off and will be painting the walls and fixing the holes. Steven sat down and read at the note, he reached for his phone and text Tom.
Tom quickly replied at he was at the local hardware store, they usually opened early for the local contractors. Steven smiled thinking how lucky he is to have this wonderful guy in his life. After breakfast he got a shower and headed to the office. He just needed time away from his house, he felt he was violated.
Tom gathered the supplies he needed, he found the cans of wall color in the garage and got matching colors. He texted Heather, and she offered to help him. He went and picked her up, they agreed not to talk about Mason but their priority was to fix the damage he done. They would deal with him later, he thought spending weekends with his grandfather would be punishment enough. He was a hardworking man and knew Mason will be regretting what he did with the tasks Heather's old man assigned.
Heather's father Warren was waiting for them when they got back to Steven's house. He hugged his daughter and shook Tom's hand. Tom let him in to access the damage and Warren took over telling Heather what she needed to do and Warren took Tom under his wing as they concentrating on repairing. Different things.
Warren looked at him, and said, "What was the fuck he thinking? No respect of someone's property."
Warren's wife Luann arrived shortly after Warren got things started, he recommended that she help Heather with closing off rooms with plastic so she could repaint.
Warren pulled the power tools from his truck and set up a shop in the garage. Tom removed the damaged drywall, handrail rungs as Warren cut things to their appropriate size and began restoring the damage.
One neighbor stopped by when he heard to buzz of saws and pounding of hammers. He asked if they seen a horse. They looked at each other and said, sorry they didn't. He gave them a card with his number just in case. Warren looked at Tom and laughed asking, "How do you lose a horse?"
Around noon, Bev pulled up and Tom ran out to greet her. She was surprised he was home, and he was surprised to see her and Tonya. Tonya wasn't expecting to see her mother and grandparents, but they stopped for a moment to greet and hugged her. Tonya knew something was up, when her mother and her father are working together on something.
Heather asked why she was there, and Tonya said, "For the wedding."
Heather looked at her, and Tonya spilled that beans that Tom and Steven were getting married tomorrow. Heather's mouth dropped and she made an excuse and ran back inside the house.
Bev went to the guest house to deposit some of her things. Bev was screaming and running from the guest house. Warren, Tom and Luann ran towards Sam's guest house. Bev came running back, saying there is a horse, there's a horse. Bev ran towards Steven's house as Tom, Warren and Luann ran past her towards the guest house.
They could believe their eyes when they saw the horse standing in the living area. Gauging by the amount of horse droppings the horse had been there several days. Luann and Warren tried to get close to the horse but it was spooked. Tom reached for his cell phone and called the guy's number. He quickly came over and said that was his horse.
He tried to calm the horse down, once the horse realized it was him the horse was a little calmer, he ran the sink full of water and left the horse drink. He eventually got the bridle on the horse and walked him back home. He asked who the owner was and why his horse is there. Tom feared there would be a lawsuit.
Warren quickly went over to the man and started to negotiate not pressing charges. Tom just watched as Warren and the guy argue about the horse. It seemed like everything was crashing down. Warren came back, wiping the sweat from his head saying, "I think I took care of that. What the fuck got into that kid."
Heather was comforting Bev as they came outside. Bev was obviously shaken from the ordeal. Heather looked at Tom and demanded they get Mason out of school. Tom got in the truck as Heather got in the passenger side and they drove.
Warren introduced himself and his wife to Bev. He said his grandson had a party that got out of control. Bev held her hand to her head, "Mason?"
Warren shook his head, "That's my grandson, disappointing."
Bev was trying to gather her wits, and said. "But the wedding is tomorrow and I have to pick up all the guests."
Warren looked at her and wondered what she was talking about. Bev explained, "Steven and Tom were getting married tomorrow at the park. That Tom's sister and Mother were flying from Florida and Tom's friends from New York were driving down to celebrate with them."
She walked in the house and realized it was a mess. Bev looked at her watch and said she had to go, and asked them to keep an eye on Tonya. They reassured her it wasn't a problem. She got in her car and headed to the airport.
Warren and Luann just didn't know what to do or say. Tonya sat on a rock, watching what had transpired around her. She took a walk over to the guest house, looked inside, sighed and turned around and returned to Steven's house.
Tom was returning from the school, Heather was the one who was pulling him by the arm and leading him to the guest house. She screamed at the top of her lung, "You are going to clean it up NOW. I don't care how you do it, just get the placed cleaned up. What the hell were you thinking about the horse?"
Mason tried to respond, and she yelled at him to Shut up she doesn't want to hear any excuse.
Warren turned to Bev, "That's the most discipline I seen the kid get from his mother."
Tom and Warren went back to work. Heather and Luann, followed behind. Tonya sat outside, wondering what she just witnessed, but knew not to ask.
Steven pulled up and saw Tonya standing there and asked why she was outside. She mentioned they were painting and fixing things, she thought it was better she be out in the fresh air. He asked where Bev was as he started to walk toward the guest house. Tonya warmed him you might now want to go over there.
Steven got concerned with what Bev was up to and started to run over to the guest house. Tom stepped out from the garage and called Steven to come over here. Steven quickly turned around and headed toward Steven.
Steven saw the saws and the piles of drywall that had been replaced. Steven introduced himself to Warren and Luann. Steven quickly shook their hands and walked inside. He didn't expect to see Heather and gave her hug as he commented, "You accomplished all that?"
Heather shook her head and seemed emotional. He didn't know Heather knew about their plans for tomorrow. He heard Mason cursing over at the guest house, and he quickly ran out the door, Tom tried to call him back, but realized it was too late. He watched as Steven stopped at the door and looked in. Tom put his hand to ears, when he heard, "WHAT THE FUCK!"
Tom ran towards the guest house, and pulled Steven back from entering just in time. Steven just kept yelling, "What the fuck, what the fuck. " He then screamed at the top of his lungs just to relieve the stress.
Tom told Steven to take deep breaths as he tried to calm him down. He just looked at Tom and asked how he was going to explain this to Sam and Jake. Warren tried to assure him, he was going to make it right. Tom looked up and thanked him.
Warren looked at them, and said, "When Heather called me she was upset, thought she doesn't approve of your lifestyle she did ask me what to do. I told her to suck it up, especially if you knew Tom said he was going away. The children are more your responsibility than his. A simple text to him could have avoid this whole fiasco."
"Now she is inside crying to her mother, she said you two are getting married and she is upset. I don't like seeing my daughter upset. But I plan to finish this through making sure everything is back to the way it looked for Mason and his hoodlums disrespected your place. "
Tonya said. "You were planning on having a few guests over tomorrow."
Warren looked at Tom, "Well it won't be done, but I can see if my friends across the river can help." Warren spilled the beans that Bev was picking up his family members, he didn't realize it was supposed to be a surprise for Tom.
Tom didn't know what to say when he heard his family was returning. He asked, "Where they were going to stay?"
Steven replied, "Bev took care of all the arrangements."
He hugged Steven and tears formed in his eyes. Out of all this chaos, he found some good.
Warren made comments about the cursing coming from the guest house. "If he's not going to talk, he's the one who's going to clean up that mess," and he motioned his head in that direction. "Lucky for him, I knew the guy who owned the horse and I through a lot of business his way."
Warren, Luann and Heather were tired. They announced they would be back in the morning. When Jake and Sam got home, Heather walked over to the guest house and retrieved Mason, she knocked on their door and said, "Mason had something to explain to you." She walked back over to Steven's as Mason nervously walked into their house.
She looked at Tom and pointed to the guest house, "He can sleep in there tonight, dad will take care of Bev and Tonya." The four left and Tom and Steve stood their alone.
Steven wrapped his arms around Tom and told him he loved him. Tom started to cry, wondering how he could after what his son did. Steven walked him into the house and they inspected the work that was done. They locked up the house and headed to dinner, Mason was walking toward the guest house with Sam and Jake. They started the truck and quickly headed down the driveway.
During dinner, Tom announced, "Since it's supposed to be bad luck seeing each other during the day of the wedding, I'll be staying at Sam and Jakes."
Steven smiled, "We don't need any more of that."
When they returned home, Tom gathered his belonging for tomorrow and headed over. Steven sat in his house alone for first time.
He pulled the scrapbook from the shelf and looked at the pages of Barron and his life together. Tears formed not from sadness but from joy as he knew there would be a new book that contained their memories together. He was looking forward to capturing the new adventures of his life with his future husband.
Steven headed to his room, he missed Tom not being in bed with him. He pulled out his phone to text him. They both acted like teenagers, when they realized they needed to pick up the license in the morning, as they forgot on Monday with everything that was happening. Tom mentioned that blew his theory about not seeing each other until the ceremony.
Steven laid in his bed, he was thankful for what everyone was doing, he was reading on his tablet, when the bedroom door opened. He watched as Tom entered the room and reached for his tee-shirt at the bottom and pulled it up his torso. Steven was hypnotized by his hair abs, as Tom walked toward the bed as he raised his shirt toward his head. Tom stopped as he removed one arm from the sleeve and then the other and continued to pull the shirt over his head.
Steven reached down and felt his cock. Tom looked at him, smiled and reached for his shorts and unbuttoned. He looked at Steven and ran his hand over his hairy chest, biting his lip like he usually does when he is seducing Steven. Tom pulled down his zipper and reached for the waist to lower his shorts down his legs, and stepping out one leg at a time. He stood there momentarily naked as he looked at Steven. He bit his lip and walked closer to the bed. Their eyes met, and Tom pulled back the covers and slid in next to Steven.
Steven sat up in bed, looking at the beautiful man next to him. Tom reached for Steven's tee-shirt and pulled it up his torso toward his head. When Tom saw it was basically an old rag, he tore the shirt off Steven. He wadded it up and threw it on the floor, he pulled the covers down and saw the old pair of underwear Steven was wearing. He found a hole and pulled ripping the underwear from his body.
Tom rolled over on top of him, and placed his lips on his. His tongue slipped in between the parted lips as Steven's hand roamed all over his back. They both at the same time said, "I love you."
They both chuckled as Tom snuggled up next to Steven. His head resting on his smooth chest. He reached under the cover to feel his cock and smooth balls, holding onto them, as he drifted off to sleep. Steven inhaled his sweaty scent from the hard day of work. He knew he was becoming part of his family and Tom was becoming a part of his. He wrapped his arm around Tom's shoulder and held onto him. He turned out the light, kissed him top of his head and fell asleep.
