Jason - Saturday afternoon
The start of another weekend. I guess that might be important everywhere else, but here at the `castle' it is usually just two more days of the week. I have come to find that Saturday means two definite things.
The first thing about Saturday is that whatever I have planned to do, never gets done. I can have the best of intentions, I can plan and schedule and arrange, I can tell everyone ahead of time I am doing a certain thing on Saturday at a certain time and no matter what, it won't get done. I have now taken to sitting back and letting Saturdays happen. If I need to do something or go somewhere I plan it for some other day, never on Saturday.
The second thing is you can be sure Denny won't be able to find a banana anywhere in the kitchen at breakfast time and by lunch time they will have mysteriously appeared out of nowhere. It doesn't seem to matter how early he gets down to the kitchen, they are gone. Now Denny is an early riser and in order to do this, someone has to be going really out of their way. I've been keeping my eyes open, but so far I'm baffled. Eventually I'll figure it out. When I do, I truly feel sorry for the person who's been doing this when Denny learns who it is.
This morning I was laying in bed, well actually I was sleeping in bed. I think I was dreaming, but now I don't know what about. I was very involved with something in my dream and all of a sudden Denny is standing there. In my dream.
"Hi guys." he said. "Can I come in and warm up with you ?" I looked beside me, again in my dream and Dale is laying in bed next to me. We look at each other and he starts laughing.
"All right, Denny. Come on in." I say and I can hear Dale beside me saying the same thing, at the same time.
"Can I bring him ?" Denny looks to his side and Gus has appeared in the dream.
"Sure can." Again I can hear Dale speaking the same words in unison with me. I opened my eyes and Dale opened his too with this look on his face that asks `Is this real ?'
"G'morning guys" a voice from the end of our bed said. Both of us were so startled we just about dove for the floor. "You said to ask before I came in. I asked and you said it was okay."
How can you get angry at eight year old kid logic ? I looked to the foot of the bed and there stood Denny and Gus.
"Just how cold are you this morning ?" Dale asked. Denny got a big grin on his face. "I think it's been a long time since Jason got to cuddle with you. Why don't you let him have the honour ? Gus, you can come with me if you want." Denny didn't wait for any response from me, he just flopped onto the bed and crawled up to the top then slid under the covers and into my arms. Gus was right behind him.
"Gee, your nice and toasty this morning." I told him. He giggled and Dale gave him a dirty look.
"Well your not, Gus" Dale said. "Where have you been, in the freezer ?" This time Gus giggled.
This was not an unusual event for Denny. Ever since we had been to the `cabin', Denny had made regular appearances on either Saturday or Sunday mornings for his warm up. Dale had to insist he ask us before entering the room, because he had walked in one morning at a time that was very difficult to explain to an eight year old what we were doing. Locked doors for Denny didn't exist, they just opened when he turned their handles.
After he had warmed up, which usually involved a large story from him about something he had seen, or heard or was planning on doing, he would have a shower with one or both of us and then he was off, to get dressed and get his breakfast. Mr. Chen had insisted that he put at least his pajama bottoms on before he raced through the main entry and up the big marble staircase, on the way to his room. Ted knew if Denny didn't show up in their room, he was with one of us. His Dad and Uncle received most of his visits, but he spread himself around to the rest of us pretty evenly.
In this instance, I found myself wondering why he had not taken the opportunity to harass the three boys in Davey's bed this morning. I mentioned this to him.
"It's Saturday. They'll sleep in, so I'll still have a chance to get them." His face beamed as he told us.
The boys warmed up and had their morning shower with us, then they were off to see what mischief they could create for their brothers. After they left, we went back to bed for a little while, but didn't get any further sleep.
At breakfast, Denny was fuming. There was not a banana to be found anywhere. He was certain there were bananas and he was certain someone had taken them. While he sat at the table thinking, you could see an idea had crossed his mind as the annoyance left his face and determination replaced it. I figured Denny had finally found a way to solve his mystery. He moved around the table until he could sit with his back to the wall. He very methodically looked one at a time at each person in the room.
I went over and asked what he was doing. He was searching. It apparently had just occurred to him, he was holding Jamie's gift for hearing thoughts. He was monitoring people one at a time for knowledge about his bananas. When he had completed everyone in the room, he had been unsuccessful, but many people were not there and he was resolved to continue checking until he had scanned every person on the estate.
My morning was spent with Dean, Digger and the four boys for whom tuxedos were to be rented for the dinner this evening. We took the limousine into town and had no trouble obtaining what we were looking for. School was out and all the graduation ceremonies had been completed. There was an abundance of formal wear available, having been recently returned and freshly cleaned.
While in town I had a chance to do a little observation of Todd and Brendan. They seemed to be polite, intelligent, young men who showed many signs of being quite taken with each other. There was a little out of sight hand holding, touching and glances back and forth that made it fairly clear their attraction was mutual. The new boys asked about the activities that were available for their use and I outlined the facilities on the estate. They were amazed at the variety of activities. I suggested they should schedule what they wanted to do through the security office to make certain there were no conflicts in timing and the proper arrangements could be made if required. We returned to the estate in plenty of time for lunch.
Lunch is actually the first time on a weekend everyone is together. Unless something specific is scheduled, family and guests often sleep in on Saturday and Sunday until they want to get up. Denny is usually up anyway and whoever he decides to visit is also awake early. Dale and I really don't mind, I don't think any of the guys do. He's the youngest and I think we all consider him as belonging to each of us, so he's like having your own little brother or a son of your own. Debra always sleeps late when she's here and everyone else gets up somewhere between those two.
At lunch today the activities that had been planned were discussed. The number of those going horse back riding had increased Ted and Dean had both decided to join in and Debra was anxious to go as well. Digger suggested we have an hours rest after lunch and Anson readily supported the idea, but the rest of us didn't think they needed it and jeered them down. Dale had been right. Denny and Gus were disgusted they had been excluded from the dirt bike activity, but quickly perked up when they found out what the alternative was. When we finished eating, everyone went and dressed for their choice of activity and met at the transports.
The afternoon passed quickly and each participant had fun doing their chosen entertainment. The boys learned dirt biking was not as easy as they had anticipated and each had learned much about handling the powerful engine. It turned out I was the only one who had ever ridden before, Anson having only been trained on patrol cycles with the police department. He found this a little different, although he did know the basics. We spent a lot of time stressing safety and the boys listened well and followed instructions. The area we had been sent to in the rear acres of the estate was ideal. Several different types of terrain allowed us all varied experience. An excellent training site. I was seriously thinking about getting a bike for my own use.
Both groups arrived back at the buildings about the same time and were equally in need of cleanup. We were hot, sweaty and dirty. They were hot, dirty and smelled like the stable. Showers and the pool were high on everyone's priority list. Debra opted for heat and luxury and said she was going to soak in the tub with many bubbles, until it was time to dress for dinner. The rest of us hit the locker room's, hot, soapy showers and then the pool..
We made one slight detour. Davey's arm cast had seen the end of its usefulness. Battered, worn, severely cracked in several places, it had broken in half while we were biking. With his pleading and assurances to Ted and Dean his arm was healed and Mr. Chen's mutual guarantee, they let us remove it. A pair of cutters were located at the garage and it was off in a matter of minutes. This was Davey's first total shower and free swim in weeks. He was one really happy kid which made the rest of us very pleased as well.
We swam and played together for well over an hour. It's amazing how a group of males of varying ages can come together in that sort of activity and just play. Obviously, some are stronger and they limit their competition to those in their own age and strength group, but still playfully interact with those of younger years and lesser strength. The same with the middle group, who test themselves against the older, more experienced men. The younger boys just charge in without fear, knowing all those older, stronger men and boys will limit themselves to their juniors' abilities. It shows the real relationships of trust and caring. Even the new boys, both at the upper end of the middle group and reaching for the lower end of the men's group, knew to care for the young ones.
I believe there is a paternal instinct the human male brings forth when he can achieve the proper relationships and conditions both in environment and within himself. Participating in these activities today and watching my friends as they interacted and shared themselves with one another, I knew Dale and I were going to be having a discussion very shortly about adopting a child to share our lives. I didn't know how we were going to work it out, but seeing him with the boys over the past weeks and knowing how I felt about them, it was clear to me we needed someone else to share our love and our lives.
About six o'clock, Dean called a halt to our games. He suggested we would need some time to prepare for the formal dinner tonight. There was to be a reception before dinner in the Library and Sitting Rooms, so we had about an hour to get ready. People headed for the showers a few at a time and washed the pool chemicals from their bodies. Donning the white robes which were always available, we headed for our separate areas to prepare for tonight's special activities.
Dale, as usual taking responsibility, lagged behind the group to make sure everyone made it off to their rooms with no problems. I stayed with him, to keep him company and quietly let him know he was never alone. We walked to our suite together and when he had closed the entry door, I turned and moving up tight against him, leaned in and kissed him. It was not intended to stir his passions, it was a kiss to remind him I was his forever and I loved him. He responded and passed the same message back to me.
"What brought that on ?" he asked as we walked into our bedroom.
"Being in love with you." I responded. I figured this was as good a time as any to feel him out. "Dale, how would you feel about adopting a child ?" He didn't answer and I didn't push him. I went into the bathroom and when I came back out Dale was sitting on the end of our bed.
"I've never though about it." he said. "It would be a very different experience. I love the boys here, but I've never though about having one of my own." I was pleased he was open to the idea.
"It will likely take quite awhile, but I think the first step would be to talk with Dean and Ted." I suggested.
"Yeah, we could do that." he conceded. "It never hurts to find out about something. There could be obstacles and I'm really not certain how sure I am, but we could talk about it." Well, that's the first hurdle, I thought to myself.
Dean - Saturday night
"Mr. McAdams, I knocked but no one answered." Brendan said hesitantly. "I wondered if you or Mr. Tanner would help us with these tuxedos."
"Sure, Brendan." I replied. "By the way. You're going to be with us all summer. Would you be comfortable calling us Uncle Dean and Uncle Ted. The boys seemed to prefer it when they first came."
"Yes, Sir." he answered. "If you two don't mind." I looked over at this young man. He was a handsome, well built teenager who immediately left you with a strong impression of his capability and maturity. Having seen him now for 24 hours, I sensed an uncertainty in him. The appearance he presented was a facade and the true individual lay buried somewhere underneath. I was hopeful he would come out to meet us sometime in the next two months.
"What can I do to help ?" I asked.
"We can't seem to make these ties work." he told me, the exasperation from fighting with it clear in his voice. "If you'll help, I'll go and get Todd so we can get them both done at the same time." I nodded and he took off.
"What was that ?" Ted asked, coming out of the bathroom.
"Tie problems for Brendan and Todd." I informed him.
"Likely just the start of many to come." he commented. Brendan came bustling into the room, Todd in tow.
"Here we are.......Whoa, sorry Uncle Ted." He had just realized Ted was standing naked, getting clothes out of his bureau. The surprise didn't keep him from taking a good look.
"No problem, Brendan." Ted said. "Just pretend we're in the swimming pool if it makes you more comfortable." A little sarcasm. Apparently Ted had also noticed the inspection.
As Ted continued dressing, there was a steady parade of young men through our bedroom seeking help with their ties, studs, cummerbunds, cuffs, neck buttons and every other part of their apparel. Even Digger and Anson joined the line. When Ted was dressed, I left him looking after these problems and went to escort Debra to the reception area. She had agreed to act as hostess for tonight, so the boys could get a good idea of how this all worked.
At 7 o'clock, Debra and I were in place in the Library, ready to greet guests. Everyone started to filter in over the next half hour. Cocktails, in the form of ginger ale for those under age were circulated and canap^Âs were served. The younger guests were reminded about the size of dinner and the number of servings, so they did not over do on their snacking.
Mr. Chen announced `Dinner is served', precisely at 8:pm. Jamie escorted his mother and Len escorted Mrs. Taylor into the dining room. Place cards at each setting announced where each person was to sit. I occupied one end of the table and Debra, as Hostess, occupied the other end. We all stood at our assigned place and then were seated after our Hostess and Mrs. Taylor. The staff very promptly began serving the first course.
The dinner was excellent. The same as the first time we did this, Ted, Tim and I offered instruction about various courses and implements that were used. Snails were served as an appetizer and Ted showed the boys how to properly remove them from the shell and eat the snail. We had a couple of participants who decided not to have this course and they were taught the proper way to decline beyond, "Yuck, I don't want none of that." It was over two hours before the dessert course was served. As delicious as it looked, only the veteran diners had any room left to enjoy it. Tea and coffee were to be served in the Sitting Room and we all adjourned to the comfort of overstuffed chairs and couches. Everyone was again sated by the lavish meal.
I should note the boys did exceptionally well, remembering much of the etiquette and instruction that was given at the first meal. Each of them could manage adequately at almost any formal dinner. It occurred to me our next participatory demonstration should be a luncheon or a formal tea.
When everyone was comfortably seated in the Sitting Room, I made an announcement.
"Most of you have had some involvement with a plan I presented a few weeks ago about building a smaller residence building for the family to use for everyday living. I wanted to let you know we have taken your suggestions into consideration and have developed what I believe will be our final plan. We have kept the idea of a very large house as a residential building. We have also decided to build four smaller residences in proximity to the main one. The five buildings will form a type of cul-de-sac' neighbourhood street. The smaller residences will house family units when couples require separate housing for themselves and their own families. An example would be if one belonged to Tim and Kevin, they would have room for Tim's brother and nephew to stay with them. The main unit will be home for Ted and myself, the members of our family who may still be residing with us and our guests. As previously planned, the castle' will remain entertainment headquarters for corporate activities and the central services and facilities upon which we all tend to depend."
I lay out sets of plans on the tables in the sitting room and everyone excitedly had a look. Full colour drawings had been provided by the architects and the plan had taken on a very real, physical form. Reactions were favourable from everyone.
"The plans will be here for the next three days." Ted announced. "If you have any further ideas, questions or suggestions don't be shy about letting us know. Ground will be broken on Wednesday. Construction is scheduled to be completed in mid-September. We will be moving in the last week of September." Everyone clapped with enthusiasm.
It was going on for eleven o'clock when Ted collected Denny for bed. He asked Lily if she wanted Gus to stay and she decided to leave him for the night, so Ted took both of them upstairs. The group moved to the Games Room and some of the men started playing cards. Jason open his regular `pool shark school of learning'. I asked Digger to perform bar duties and he poured each of the Ladies an ap^Âritif. Conversations were cordial and it was midnight before we even realized it. Lily suggested to Brian he drive her home and they could pick up her car in the morning. Lenny asked to stay again, to which Davey and his Mom agreed.
We called it a night and sent our junior members off to bed. I said `good night' to the remaining group and escorted Debra to her room. I then went on to peek in on the youngest ones and found them already fast asleep. I made the usual adjustment to Denny and went to meet Ted in our bedroom. He was stretched out comfortably in our bed, reading over a set of specifications for the construction project.
"It was a nice dinner." he said as I started to undress. "I think everyone really enjoyed themselves, even the two new boys. I'm surprised they didn't seem to know anymore about formal dining than our guys did."
"I don't think their parents have spent any more time raising them than they absolutely had to. They seem like good boys, but it's like there is something missing in them. I think their similarity is what draws them together." I suggested.
As I rolled into bed and turned to face my mountain of a man, my gaze was drawn to his massive chest, covered with the matting of blonde hair. He put down the booklet he had been reading and slid down into bed, turning to face me. I reached out and my hand stroked through the soft fibers until it felt the pink disk and stubby nub on his left pec. As I rubbed and tugged, the nub grew hard and stuck out further. Ted rolled over onto his back and expelled a deep breath. His movement left the right nipple just in line with my mouth and I leaned forward and nibbled. This time an inward rush of air expanded his chest, pushing it harder against my mouth. I worked on both my prisoners, reveling in the response I was getting from my lover each time I tugged or nipped.
I moved my hand and pushed the covers down off his abdomen. I rubbed those flat, strong abdominal muscles, smooth and rigid, until they ended at his narrow waist. My tongue followed my hand and I traced the muscles which I have been feeling. Reaching his navel and wiggling my tongue in the tiny well, caused his abdomen to contract. My hand swept into the thick, bushy, pubic mound of soft yellowish hair. I stroked the hair, combing my fingers through them over and over. I bypassed the bobbing shaft and reached around to weigh the full sac which dangled between his spread legs. The firm orbs moved freely in their container, shifting from side to side as I rolled them.
Sticking out my tongue I swabbed the exposed crown of the impressive staff which was pointing directly at me. It jumped each time I touched it and Ted moaned deeply. I took the head into my mouth and began the long decent to the base. I still had never been able to take the total length, but I kept trying every chance I got. As I worked to engulf as much of this sturdy post as possible, Ted started to slide his fingers into the crease of my bottom and found the sensitive gateway hidden deep inside. He rubbed and prodded soon opening me up with one, two, then three fingers.
Ted reached for the lube in the bed side table and generously applied it to my relaxed hole. I straddled his hips and lowered myself on his spit slicked cock. It slide slowly home, filling me in just the right way. I held still when I reached the base and let my tunnel hold him in me, gripping every inch tightly. Ted found my cock and smeared the ample precum I had produced around and around the puffy, sensitive head. He then firmly gripped my shaft and head and started a pumping action intended to create a maximum amount of friction and heat. His other hand latched onto my nipple and pinched and pulled in a manner to gain my full attention. The feelings combined to make my body tingle.
I began to lift and fall around his shaft, making long strokes which had him stretching up into me as I thrust downward to collide with his pelvis. It didn't take long at all. Just over a minute of this forceful coupling brought us both to the edge and with one final exertion we both released the pressure which we had built in each other. I remained seated on his hips while the aftermath of our climaxes tapered. Finally I fell forward and shared a kiss of love with the partner to whom I had committed myself.
"I love you, big guy." I told him with all the sincerity in my heart.
"You are the most important person in my life," he replied, "and I will always cherish your love."
Very shortly afterward, we were sound asleep, safe in each other's arms.
Jamie - Sunday night
The last couple days at school are like a fog to me. I knew there was something wrong, but I had no desire to find out what it was or to correct it. Davey told me later he had tried to communicate with me mentally for three days and I had blocked him. I had no recall of having done so. I thought I had in fact reached and communicated with him. The plane ride home was hardly a memory at all. I did know Brendan and Todd were there, but it seemed perfectly normal to me.
A clear memory was when I was in Uncle Ted's office. I knew he was questioning me, but I don't recall answering him. I was empty. That's how I felt and I knew the fourth Guardian had taken my gifts. That thought came to me very clearly, but it didn't seem to be me thinking it. Then, when I was with Mom and Dad in his office and the other three Guardians arrived, I felt fear. I was not afraid, but I felt fear from another source of which I was not aware. Then there was clarity. My brothers were surrounding me, not repairing me, but removing something within me and I felt clarity. My mind cleared and I understood what had been happening.
I have remained empty ever since. My gifts have been active for such a very short time you would not think I would be so use to them being with me, but without them, I am empty. When you are designed to be a Guardian there must be something, a need in you to achieve that role. When so much you need to do so is missing from you, it's like there is a hole in you and you feel empty. Denny has assured me my gifts will be returned, but the waiting has made me know being a Guardian is not just an extra to me, it is me.
The dinner last night was great. I guess I didn't understand at first why Dad and Uncle Ted were doing this. It's something I've grown up knowing. I now appreciate others would not learn these things and I am pleased to see my brothers having a good time learning about the formal way things are done. They are not the only ones. The big guys needed to learn as well and they too are having fun doing it. I was surprised last night to notice Brendan and Todd were learning some of these things for the first time. It makes me appreciate my parents, particularly living with Mom, have always included me in their activities enough for me to learn by doing.
I have noticed since I lost my gifts, Todd and Brendan are not drawn to me as they were at school. I knew that Wednesday night when I returned to school the strengthening of my gifts from spending time with my brothers had to be the reason people were drawn to me. I can see it even more now. My friends are drawn to my brothers, but I am now just another younger kid. It makes me realize how careful we will have to be in life choosing friends, determining whether it is us or the hidden power of a Guardian which attracts people.
Lenny stayed over last night again. He and I fooled around with each other again, but this time we left Davey out of it. He went to sleep right off and I realize he has a commitment and desire for Brian and I don't want to place him in situations where he must choose between that commitment and me. I understand there are limits on a best friend's rights and I want to remain Davey's best friend, forever.
Today, we all spent time with each other. We usually all get together for a swim or two on any given day and that was true today, but we also spent time doing things in small groups. Gus and Denny were with Uncle Ted during the morning. They spent some time going through the camping equipment and trailer. I'm really looking forward to getting a chance to go out and use that stuff, seeing as I missed out last time.
Mom is leaving tomorrow. She has business at home with her lawyer that had to be completed. She asked Dad if he would arrange for her to come back for the July 4th weekend and he readily agreed. He told her he thought we might all spend the long weekend on our boat, so we could all attend the waterfront celebrations. She encouraged the idea and told me she was looking forward to another long weekend with all of us. I spent the morning with her. We walked through the gardens and talked. I didn't like the idea of her going home to be alone, but she told me she really cherished her time alone these days and next to being with all of us, it was her best time.
Todd and Brendan spent the morning teaching Kevin and Davey to play tennis. They did not likely anticipate how quickly my brothers learn. By the end of the morning my two friends were having to work as hard as they could just to play evenly. They were more than slightly relieved when Dale and Jason came out looking to see if they could play. Todd and Brendan retired as gracefully and quickly as any pair ever had.
After lunch we all went to the stables to go riding. We have reached a number as a group that exceeds the number of horses which are maintained on the property. Dad doubled up with Gus and Uncle Ted took Denny with him so we had enough to go around. Charger, Uncle Ted's horse never even batted an eye when Denny was lifted on to him. Up until now only Uncle Ted and Jim, the stable supervisor, have been able to ride him. Davey has established a friendship with the horse, but had never ridden him. It appeared he was going to accept Denny as well.
Showers and swimming when we returned to the `castle' rounded out the afternoon and the usual delicious Sunday roast beef dinner was served. Brian came over for swimming this afternoon and stayed for dinner. He would be taking Len and Gus home later this evening, but he and Davey have gone off somewhere to spend some time together. Tim and Kevin were busy doing something so Len, Todd, Brendan and I went up to my room, which they were staying in, and listened to the CD player and talked.
"Your family seems to spend a lot of time together." Brendan commented to me. "I don't know when the last time was my family sat down to have a meal together."
"It hasn't always been like this," I replied, "but with a little luck, it will be from now on."
"I wouldn't be surprised if my father was gay too." Brendan said. Even when he's home, he isn't home. I never was told why he and my Mother divorced. My sister won't have anything to do with him and he seems to keep me as far away from his life as possible. It must be great to have a Dad and an Uncle there for you."
"It hasn't really been like that here, yet." I told him. "I'm hoping when things get to be routine in the new house it will be like that. This is all pretty new to all of us. We are all still putting our family together."
"If there are any openings, I'd sure like to apply." he joked, but I could tell from his tone and the look on his face that he wasn't joking. It's the first time I realized how really unhappy Brendan was with his world.
A little after nine o'clock, Uncle Ted knocked on the door and stuck his head in to let Lenny know Brian was getting ready to leave. He was taking Denny to bed and I decided to go along with him. I had never put Denny to bed and I was just a little curious if it was like I remembered when he and Mr. Chen use to put me to bed.
Once we were in Denny's room there was really nothing to do except just sit on his bed or a chair. Denny put his own pajamas on and he talked the whole time. He was telling me about working with his Dad this morning on the camping items. How they sorted it all out and cleaned some of the items. He talked about opening the tents so they could air out and checking the propane tanks. He just never stopped talking. Uncle Ted just sat there and listened and I did the same. After washing his face and brushing his teeth, Denny crawled in bed and waited for Uncle Ted to cover him up. He asked me to read a chapter from his book to him and Uncle Ted again sat and listened. Afterward Uncle Ted bent down and he and Denny gave each other big hugs and Uncle Ted kissed him on the forehead and said good night. It was exactly as I remembered it happening for me and I was happy for Denny. It was one of my favourite memories.
We spent the rest of the evening in the Games Room. The big guys let us play poker with them and showed us how to make bluffs work or read other people as they bluff. When Dad and Uncle Ted were ready to go to bed, Davey and I were also ready. The other guys were also breaking up with only a few staying at the poker table. Davey and I walked Mom to her suite and she invited us in for a few minutes. We sat in the lounge and talked for a little while.
"If Todd and Brendan are going to be here all summer," Mom asked. "are you two going to be sharing a room as well ?"
"Dad mentioned to me this morning," I replied, "he and Uncle Ted are going to move into the Master Suite and move some people around so the suites are put to better use."
"They're going to use your Grandparent's rooms ?" She sounded astounded. "Good for him. I'm glad your Dad is finally going to move on from the past."
"I think I'm going to offer to switch rooms with Kevin and Tim." Davey told us.
"Why ?" Mom and I asked together.
"There's two of them." Davey explained. "They should have more room. I don't need all the space. Sharing a room with Denny was plenty nice for me and now look at all the room."
"But Tim might be going." I pointed out. "Then Kevin will be just one."
"He's older." Davey said. "He is entitled to the larger area."
"You have a partner as well, Davey." I commented. "You could use a larger area as well."
"Brian and I will not be living together for quite awhile." he told me. "I think Kevin needs all the support we can give him, now not later." I thought about what he had said and his consideration for Kevin.
"I think you should stay where you are." I stated. "Kevin and Tim can have Uncle Ted's suite, Todd and Brendan can have their room and I can go back to my own room, where I belong." My mind was made up and I would talk to Dad in the morning.
Mom was leaving about lunch time tomorrow so we let her get to bed and Davey and I went to his bed. We talked a while longer once we were settled. Davey told me he and Brian had talked for a bit tonight and they were trying to work out a problem that had developed. He said he wasn't sure he could talk to me about it, so I asked if he just wanted to wait until I had my gifts back and then I could just listen to him think about it. He laughed and then he told me about his fear and how he had tried to get Brian to agree to limiting himself to one way activity. Brian has forgiven him for this, but he hasn't yet forgiven himself.
I could understand his fear of being hurt by someone he loved and trusted. I also felt this was something they needed help with, but would eventually have to work out between themselves. He told me what Brian had asked Uncle Ted to do. When I asked how he felt about it, he told me he had been thinking it when Brian had asked.
