Chapter 36

Timothée's green eyes opened, finding himself alone in bed.

He yawned, then stretched, reaching for his cell phone off the nightstand, seeing it was only ten minutes to seven.

He saw Kolby's titanium leg was gone, the man sighing, slowly climbing out of bed, his erection at full mast, the man stretching and grabbing his tee and shorts out of the walk-in closet, slowly covering his nude body.

He quietly walked into the bathroom, relieving his bladder, walking back out, quickly making up the bed.

He walked out of the bedroom, walking down the quiet hallway, no sounds coming from the other bedrooms.

He walked into the kitchen, seeing its light on, the faint aroma of breakfast filtering into his nostrils, the man seeing the coffee pot full of warm coffee, smiling and filling a mug for himself, sipping its warmth, walking out of the kitchen into the living room, it empty as well.

He caught movement on the outside terrace, the man smiling, walking over to its door, walking out into the morning's coolness.

"Damn, Kobe! It's freaking freezing out here!" Timothée smiled, walking up to his man standing at the terrace's railing, Timothée seeing an empty coffee mug on the terrace's table.

He set his down on the table, wrapping his arms around Kolby's tee covered chest, Kolby's lips meeting his.

"Morning, Timbo." he sighed, when they broke their kiss.

"Morning, love of my life." Timothée smiled, snuggling against his man.

"What's got you up so early, and out here in winter's freezing reality?" he said, Kolby kissing his forehead.

"Just woke up with a clouded mind." Kolby softly said, Timothée's eyes meeting his green.

"You okay, babe?"

"Yes, just had one of my feelings." the young man said, seeing his man softly shivering.

"Come on, Timbo. Let's warm up inside." Kolby smiled, guiding his man back into the condo, both picking up their coffee mugs.

The two settled in the living room, after Kolby filled his mug again in the kitchen and topping Timothée's up, Timothée snuggling against his man on the sofa.

"What's got you up so early, my love? I smelled breakfast ready, the oven probably well stocked."

"I sense a dawning within my life, Timbo. Like I'm about to go on another path. Something's close, very close." the young man softly said, Timothée's eyes clouding with soft worry.

"It's not something dangerous, is it? I don't want you hurt again." he said, Kolby kissing his lips, Timothée feeling his love.

"No, I don't think it's unintentionally dangerous, just clouded in mystery. Henry got me thinking about that last night by his words when he left."

"About truths for another day?" Timothée said, Kolby nodding.

"I think today's going to indeed be a day of truth. What that means entirely I don't know." Kolby said, the man pulling his man closer.

"I don't know what's going on, but one thing I do know, I'm happy you're here beside me, Timothée. I can face any truth with your love surrounding me."

Timothée smiled, the two kissing more deeply, Timothée gently pushing the man back on the sofa, the two breaking their passionate kiss, Timothée smiling at his man.

"Are you happy enough to make me happy in the shower?" he smiled, Kolby smiling more.

"Let's go, beautiful. The first truth of the day will be me showing you how much I love you." Kolby said, his hand gently rubbing Timothée's center, the man softly moaning.

"I love when you show me that love."

Timothée leapt up, pulling his man up with him, wrapping his arms around him.

"Race you, sexy." he said, Kolby smiling, pushing his man back on the sofa, running towards the hallway.

Timothée grinned, on his feet again, following him quickly, Kolby stopping beside the main bathroom door, Timothée almost running into him.

Kolby's finger went to his lips, Timothée remaining quiet.

They both heard soft moaning, and water running.

"Oh fuck, Yogo! Don't stop!" a soft voice said, Kolby smiling at Timothée.

"Looks like we're not the only one with a water fetish." Kolby smiled, Timothée laughing, covering his mouth.

His man's hand went into his, pulling his Timbo down to their bedroom.

They removed their clothing quickly, walking into the bathroom, both heading for the shower.

Kolby smiled, seeing his man's shaft at full mast, his hand wrapping around it as Timothée started the warm water, Kolby closing the shower door behind them.

"Someone's excited. The thoughts of those two in the shower get my man all hot and bothered?" he smiled, Timothée smiling and wrapping his wet arms around his man.

`No, babe. That's all your fault. I saw that hot sexy ass ahead of me."

Kolby smiled, the man going to his knees, Timothée gasping as his man devoured his long shaft to the hilt.

"Oh fuck, Kobe! You're a master at that!" he moaned, feeling fingers entering his backside.

"God damn!" Timothée almost screamed, Kolby immediately feeling his mouth fill with Timothée's load.

He drank it all in, hungering for the tasty cream.

Timothée leaned back against the shower wall, water falling on his chest, flowing down over Kolby's head as he drank it all in.

The young man moved, back on feet again, their lips meeting, Kolby licking his lips as they broke the kiss.

"Who says that young brave and sexy star can have all the fun?" he smiled, Timothée smiling widely.

"Austin's not the only lucky one." he smiled, Kolby staring into his green pools.

"I need you, Timbo. I need to love you." Kolby said, Timothée's wet fingers going to his cheek.

"Then take all you need, my love." Timothée said, the man pulling Kolby down to the floor, Kolby moving on top of him, Timothée raising his own legs.

Their lips met, Kolby's hardness seeking out its need.

And moments later it plunged into Timothée's love, the two feeling the instant connection to their one soul.

Timothée smiled, walking arm in arm with his man into the kitchen, three smiling faces meeting theirs.

"Good morning, pervs. Sounded like your tiger was being skinned back there, Kobe." Dina chuckled, Austin and Eli both bursting into laughter.

Timothée blushed, Kolby smiling at his sister, kissing his man's cheek.

"Nope, just two people deeply in love, showing that love. And I'll have you know I've worn that tiger's stripes off weeks ago."

Everyone laughed, Timothée smiling with blushing happiness.

He sat down at the table, Kolby heading for the stove.

"Well, don't worry boys. You weren't the only ones saving water." Dina smiled, Austin and Eli looking at her.

"Yes, Kolby and I heard a certain young native chasing a white man this morning. I think he scalped him." Timothée said, Dina laughing, Eli blushing deeply, Austin's arm going around him.

"Well, as you can see, I still have a full head of hair." Austin smiled, Timothée kissing his friend's cheek beside him.

"That's not the head I was talking about."

Dina burst into laughter, Kolby smiling at the stove.

Austin and Eli both blushed deeply, Dina patting Eli's hand on top of the table.

"We're just kidding with you, Eli. We're all happy you and Austin have found love and happiness with each other. Passion will always be a part of that." she smiled, Eli softly smiling.

"It was so wet and beautiful. You can sleep in my teepee anytime, my sexy white man." he smiled, Austin leaning over and kissing his lips.

Timothée laughed, Kolby smiling and bringing over platters of food, Timothée rising and grabbing plates and silverware, the five sitting down to a warm breakfast.

They devoured the meal, Austin smiling at Kolby.

"You must have been up early to make all this. It's beyond delicious." he said, filling his plate again.

"Yes, I woke up early, my man still in dreamland. I find I can think more when the place is quiet and I'm busying myself with cooking." the young man said, Timothée's hand going on top of his.

"Everything okay, Kobe?" Eli said, Kolby smiling at the young man.

"Yes, Eli. Just some thoughts running through my mind. I think today's going to be a day of change for me." Kolby said, Eli nodding.

"Life gives us changes, always. We just deal with them as best we can." he said, smiling at his man, Austin smiling back, their hands joining.

Kolby smiled, nodding, his man smiling at him.

"What's life without change? Some have been amazing." Timothée said, Kolby smiling at his man.

"So, how feels your heart now that Austin's claimed it, Eli? I sensed this morning, and last night, that both of you have gone to greater heights of love." Kolby smiled, the young man staring at Austin.

"Eli and I have connected on a greater level, Kobe. We've both seen the beauty of each other's souls and beings." Austin smiled, Eli smiling at him with love.

"He's so beautiful, so...so giving. It was beyond my dreams. He made it so special." he softly said, Timothée looking at him with surprise.

"It was your first...?" he said, Kolby kissing his man's cheek.

"Eliot had a life of guarded pain; he never got the chance to be outgoing and free, my love. Austin's love is just what he needs. Both will find everything they need in their joining happiness. Eli's new happiness is surrounded by Austin's giving tenderness. I envy both of you." Kolby smiled, both men smiling at each other, Austin's hand squeezing Eli's.

"It was beyond beautiful. He's so beautiful, so amazing. I feel so alive within his love and beauty."

Timothée smiled, looking at Eli.

"I wasn't making fun of that reality, Eli. I'm glad you had someone as beautiful, kind and giving as Austin at that moment. I'm sure you both were beyond amazing."

"Not as amazing as us, Timbo. But I think both are packing more." Kolby smiled, Timothée and Dina laughing, Austin and Eli blushing, Kolby smiling at both.

"You're both lucky bitches."

Everyone laughed, the two smiling at each other, the chat moving on to other things, Kolby smiling at the new lovers.

Austin and Eli volunteered to do the dishes, Eli volunteering to make lunch for them and Nancy and Henry later.

After breakfast and dishes, the four men settled back down at the kitchen table, the four playing a card game, Dina heading to her bedroom to send some text messages to her friends.

The morning progressed, the four finding a brotherhood in their happiness.

Timothée sensed his two friends had deeper feelings now for each other, the two often glancing at each other, Timothée and his man's eyes meeting often too.

"So, Austin. I take it your earlier crush on myself has disappeared. I sense Eli's totally claimed your heart and soul. Not to mention that fine form." Timothée smiled, Kolby smirking.

"Don't fret, Mr. Ego. I'm sure some other young sexy stud will be drooling over you soon. As I'm sure a few others have already, Mr. Movie Star." Kolby said, Timothée smiling and kissing his lips.

"Only drool I want is yours, babe."

Austin and Eli smiled, Austin looking at his friend.

"Eli has claimed my heart, Tim. But I'll always want your friendship. And eye candy will always stoke our hearts." he said, Timothée smiling.

"Given always, Austin. I'll start going shirtless."

All four laughed, Kolby kissing his man's cheek.

"We both will, they might as well get the full effect."

Austin and Eli both blushed softly, Kolby smiling at both.

"If you two ever need pointers on passion, our door is always open." Timothée smiled, the two smiling back.

"Thanks, Tim. But we both just want to go at our own pace, explore and create our own path of happiness." Austin smiled, Eli kissing his cheek.

"That's all a person needs to do, Austin. Look at my man and me. We've created the same path." Kolby smiled.

Timothée kissed his cheek, smiling at his friends.

"That we did, a path of love."

"Okay, we need to calm down. Our love is ours and let's leave it at that." Austin smiled, everyone smiling and agreeing, two couples happy for each other.

The four finished their card game, Timothée having to make some work calls; he heading into the fourth bedroom, it made up as his office.

The other three relaxed around the living room, good conversation flowing, Dina joining them while Timothée finished.

The man returned to the four, Kolby smiling at him.

"Nothing urgent, babe?" he said, Timothée back in his arms.

"Production starts Monday. Right here in New York." he said, Kolby smiling at him.

"My man as Bob Dylan. Don't remember him being so sexy." he smiled, Timothée smiling back.

"I'm the younger him, Kobe. I guess he was cute back then."

"Surprising what they can do with makeup now." Austin smiled, Timothée raising a finger, everyone laughing.

Timothée saw his man's eyes glance at his watch, snuggling more into him.

"I saw you glancing at your watch, babe. Henry and Nancy will be here shortly. Everything okay?" Timothée said, Kolby's green pools meeting his green.

"I just have that feeling again." he softly said, the phone going off beside Timothée, the man answering it, hitting numbers.

"They're here, babe. Just relax." he said, Kolby nodding, rising to his feet, heading for the door, a knock coming to it shortly.

He opened it, Nancy's arms around him in moments, the two hugging tightly, Henry smiling and standing behind them.

Kolby broke the hug, then moved, hugging Henry next, the man smiling, returning the hug.

Kolby took Henry's and Nancy's jackets, hanging them on the hooks.

"Morning, everyone." Nancy smiled, walking into the living room, hugs and kisses exchanged, Henry following with Kolby.

"Would you both like some coffee? I have a fresh pot brewing." Kolby smiled, both nodding, Eli rising to his feet.

"I'll get it, Kolby. You relax with your family." the young man smiled, Kolby nodding, Eli heading to the kitchen.

"Sorry we didn't join you for breakfast. My sweetie wanted me all to herself this morning." Henry smiled, Nancy blushing, slapping his arm.

"You had me all evening and night, Henry. But that restaurant this morning was divine." she smiled, everyone smiling at the couple.

Eli walked back into the room, carrying a tray containing two carafes, mugs, a sugar bowl and a milk jug, sitting it down on the coffee table.

Everyone who wanted coffee helped themselves, relaxing and lightly chatting.

Henry sat in a wing chair, beside Nancy, she sat on a sofa with Timothée and Kolby.

"So, Henry. Let's get down to it." Kolby said, Henry smiling at the young man.

"You're so direct in your honesty, kindness and warmth, Kolby. You'd make a very successful businessman." the older man smiled, Kolby smiling at him.

"When does your guest arrive?" Kolby softly said, Timothée looking confused.

Henry looked surprised, staring at the young man.

"You...you know someone else is coming?" Henry said, Kolby nodding.

"I felt a presence cross my soul last night, and early this morning. I will listen to what he wants to see me about." Kolby said, Timothée's arm going around his man.

"What's going on, my love?" he said, Kolby kissing his cheek.

"My life, Timbo. However hidden it might be." the young man said, Henry's phone going off in his blazer pocket, the older man answering it.

He quickly closed off the call, talking briefly.

"My friend has arrived downstairs." he said, Timothée's home phone going off, the man answering it, Henry nodding at him.

He hit buttons again, setting the phone down.

"Someone's coming up to see you, Henry."

Henry nodded, rising to his feet, walking towards the front door, a knock coming shortly to it.

He opened it, everyone rising to their feet, a gentleman about Henry's age walking into the condo, Henry smiling at him, taking his jacket for him.

The two men walked into the living room, the new visitor smiling around at everyone, Timothée noticing he carried a briefcase.

"Good morning, everyone." he smiled, his voice obviously British, the man looking distinguished in a three-piece dark navy suit.

"Good morning, sir. Welcome to my home." Timothée said, the man smiling at him.

"Good morning, Mr. Chalamet. It's indeed a pleasure to meet you. And this must be Mr. Wentworth. Good morning, young man." the man smiled, Kolby walking up to him, the two quietly shaking hands, the older man's eyes scanning all over the young man.

"Yes, indeed you must be."

"Good morning, sir. I hope I'm not being too forward, but who are you?" Kolby said, Timothée looking at his man.

"Allow me to introduce you to everyone, Cedrick." Henry smiled, the other man nodding.

"Everyone, this is Sir Cedrick Holsten. A dear old friend of mine from England. Cedrick, you've met Timothée Chalamet and Kolby Wentworth; this is Timothée's dear friend Austin Butler, Kolby's friend Eliot Tanner, my fiancée Nancy Fairbanks and her daughter Dina Fairbanks." Henry smiled, the man smiling and shaking everyone's hand, gently kissing Dina's, then Nancy's.

"So, this is the young lady who's captured my old friend's heart? So enchantingly beautiful. You are so lucky, Harry." Sir Cedrick smiled, Nancy blushing but smiling.

"I see where Henry gets his charm. English scholastic manners." she smiled, Sir Cedrick chuckling.

"Would you like some coffee or tea, sir?" Dina smiled, the man asking for a coffee, Henry guiding him to his wing chair, the man sitting down, everyone returning to their seats, Henry joining Nancy beside Kolby and Timothée.

Dina handed the man a mug of coffee after she'd asked what he'd like with it, he thanking her, sipping it quietly.

"My goodness, that's so delicious. You were correct, Harry." he smiled, Henry smiling at his old friend.

"I told my old friend about your coffee, Kolby. He's a coffee aficionado. Cubby said he had to taste it."

"Cubby?" Kolby said, Sir Cedrick smiling at the young man.

"Henry and I were college roommates in our university days at Oxford. I always called him Harry, he creating the nickname Cubby for myself. I was smaller built than most everyone, Harry calling me the quad's little cub." the older man smiled, Henry chuckling with him.

"I call Nancy Momma Bear, and Henry is now Papa Bear to me. The wildlife of our hearts." Kolby smiled.

The new visitor lightly laughed, smiling at Kolby.

"Indeed, Mr. Wentworth." he smiled, Kolby smiling back.

Henry looked between the two, the man staring at Kolby.

"Cubby came to my restaurant last week, Kolby. He was searching for something. He asked me to set up this meeting." Henry said, Kolby nodding.

"For what reason, Henry? Why are you seeking me out, Sir Cedrick Holsten?" Kolby said, Timothée feeling his directness, so wanting to put his arm around him.

The older man smiled, folding his hands in front of him after he set his coffee mug down on the coffee table.

"I am a barrister, Mr. Wentworth. I've had a long-distinguished career in law and justice. I am at present the senior barrister at the King's Court. I don't take up justice much anymore, but I am on retainer for counseling for my fellow colleagues. For quite some time a dear old friend of mine and Henry's has been my only exclusive remaining client. Three years ago, he sent me on a quest, a quest for information and perhaps more. I've been searching for someone. Someone I now believe I can no longer contact." Sir Cedrick said, Kolby staring at him.

"Why did you contact Henry?"

Henry smiled at Kolby, their eyes meeting.

"Cedrick came to me looking for something, something I recently gave to you."

Kolby looked confused, then met the barrister's staring quiet eyes, the truth dawning on him.

"The astrolabe! It's yours?" he softly said, the man shaking his head in the negative.

"As I said, I've been searching for someone, or my client has. I have been searching through lost reports, as well as criminal, judicial and auction reports. From those I had hoped to find some link or path to discovery. A simple auction report gave me my first clue. After that it was a more focused trail I found. Henry provided the missing detail." the man smiled, Kolby sensing the man loved the intrigue and mystery surrounding his quest.

"What did you find?" Timothée asked, everyone staring at the barrister.

"I found an auction report as I said, in it I saw all the photographs of the various items auctioned. One stood out clearly for myself as well as my client. The astrolabe you aforementioned, Mr. Wentworth."

"Please, my name is Kolby." Kolby said, the barrister smiling.

"That astrolabe was bought by my dear friend here, Henry. To himself I ventured to perhaps find the missing link on that path of discovery, Kolby."

"And that led you to me?"

"Eventually." Sir Cedrick smiled, lifting his briefcase up, opening it in his lap, pulling out a folder, closing and setting his briefcase down again.

He opened the folder, pulling out a sheet of paper, handing it across to Kolby, the young man and Timothée looking at the photograph in front of them.

"Is that the astrolabe you now have in your possession, Kolby?" Sir Cedrick asked, Kolby nodding.

"Yes, Sir Holsten. Henry indeed gifted it to me at Christmas. I have it at home in London."

"Please call me Cedrick." the man smiled, Kolby nodding, handing the sheet back to him, the barrister placing it back into the folder.

"Have you ever wondered about the insignia on that astrolabe's wooden encasement?"

"Yes, but I never was told its meaning by my mother or father."

The barrister nodded, looking at Henry.

"Yes, Harry told me about the circumstances of his gifting you the astrolabe at Christmas, and the history of its own self concerning yourself. A destined path of faith and mystery." Cedrick said, Kolby nodding.

"That it was, Cedrick. It was always meant to return to myself."

The man smiled, nodding.

"There is even more destiny behind it than that, my fine young man." Cedrick said, opening the folder in his hands, pulling out some other sheets of paper.

"The emblem on top of that wooden lid is the heraldry crest of the aristocratic family Claythorn, the lineage of the Dukedom of Claythorn." Cedrick stated, everyone looking surprised, none more so than Kolby.

"An...an aristocratic crest?" Kolby softly said, Timothée's arm now going around him.

The barrister nodded, handing Kolby the first of the two sheets he held in his hands.

Kolby slowly took it, staring down at its contents.

"Is that a photograph of your mother, Kolby?" the barrister said, his voice etched with soft determination.

Kolby stared at the police report in his hands, a familiar face staring back at him, Timothée staring as well.

The photograph was of a woman, she obviously laying in a hospital or morgue, obviously deceased.

"Yes...yes, that's my mother. I'd recognize her face anywhere." Kolby softly said, Timothée feeling his hidden emotions.

Kolby's soft tearful eyes raised, staring at the older man across from him, a soft compassionate smile showing on his handsome face.

"She was a vision of youthful beauty when last I saw her well over twenty-five years ago, Kolby. The heartache of her now revealed loss echoes in many souls." Cedrick said, Kolby staring at him.

"You...you knew my mother?" he softly said, the man nodding, handing Kolby the last paper in his hand.

"Yes, Kolby. Was her first name Theresa?" the barrister asked, Kolby nodding.

"Yes...yes it was. But Dad always called her Tessa." the young man said, Kolby seeing a small tear in the older man's eyes.

Kolby slowly took the paper from Cedrick, seeing this was an actual photograph, his green eyes staring down at it, Cedrick rising to his feet.

Kolby took in a photograph of a distinguished older gentleman, Kolby seeing soft recognition in the man's handsome older face.

Timothée saw even more.

"My God, Kobe! That man looks like an older version of you!" he said, Kolby slowly nodding, his eyes raising and staring at Cedrick.

"That is a photograph of my old friend and client, Kolby. A man by the name of Sir Alistar Claythorn. He is the twenty-fourth Duke of Claythorn. And he may be your grandfather."

Kolby stood up, everyone looking shocked, the young man staring at Sir Cedrick Holsten.

"My...my grandfather?" Kolby softly said, staring down at the photograph again, suddenly letting it go from his hands, Timothée on his feet immediately, feeling the shock running through the young man.

Kolby staggered, falling backwards, Timothée's arms going around him.

Kolby's eyes glassed over, his world going dark.

Kolby's eyes slowly opened, two green pools of love staring down at him.

"Are you okay, my love?" Timothée softly said, Kolby staring at his worried face, seeing the other faces surrounding him.

"You passed out, son." Henry said, Kolby looking around, the young man now laying on a sofa, Nancy holding a cold cloth over his forehead.

"Relax, Kobe. You've had a great shock, it sent you on a spiral of emotions. You just blacked out for a few moments." she said, Kolby seeing the love and worry in her blue pools.

"I'm...I'm alright, Momma Bear. I'd like to get up now." he softly said, Nancy's and Timothée's eyes meeting.

"Alright, Kobe. But you're sitting here and not moving." she said, the young man nodding, hearing the caring in her voice.

"For sure, Momma Bear." the young man said, Nancy nodding and removing the wet cloth, Timothée helping Kolby get up, sitting down beside him, everyone else giving the two space, Nancy sitting on Kolby's other side, taking his hand in hers.

"Just relax. How do you feel? Any headache or blurred vision?" she said, feeling his forehead again, finding it cool, the wet cloth Eli had raced into the kitchen to get she'd sat down on the coffee table having helped.

"I feel fine, just a bit tired. I'll just sit here." Kolby softly said, nodding.

Kolby's eyes met Sir Cedrick Holsten's grey pools, the man staring at him with guarded concern and compassion.

"I'm sorry, young man. I should have been more careful with that proclamation. I sense it came as a great shock to you." he said, Kolby nodding.

"That it did, sir. How can this be?" Kolby softly said, Timothée quietly watching him, his arm around him again.

Cedrick smiled at the touching scene, his and Timothée's eyes meeting.

"You give your secrets away too easily when it's wrapped in concern and love, Mr. Chalamet. You have my utmost discretion." the barrister said, Timothée nodding and softly smiling.

"He's my soulmate, Sir Cedrick. His pain is my pain." he said, Cedrick nodding.

"It's just Cedrick, Mr. Chalamet."

"And I'm Timothée, Cedrick."

The barrister smiled, sitting down again, everyone returning to their seats.

"As you can see in the first police document, Kolby, your mother's maiden name wasn't known. She was only listed as Tessa Wentworth. It all now looks towards her being the missing daughter of the Duke and Dutchess Alistar and Vanessa Claythorn. She was their only child. A youthful vision of happiness and love. I remember her debutante ball when she was sixteen, her parents were so proud of her. She had the world and so much happiness ahead of her."

"Why did she leave that life if there was so much happiness there?" Kolby said, Cedrick staring at him quietly.

"When she was eighteen, she met a young man who was an apprentice to the estate's head gardener. They began a torrid romance amongst the flowers and gardens of Claythorn Manor, your family's ancestral estate. Her father didn't approve of the young man, he having had a criminal past. I, myself, thought he was a charlatan. Charles Warwick was an unscrupulous young villain. Your grandfather tried to make her see that man's worthlessness, she seeing only the romance surrounding her. On a dark night she and that man ran off, disappearing from her family's heart. For over twenty-three years my client and friend has been searching for her. That astrolabe led me through Henry to you, Kolby. And from you, I went back into your past, finding her. What took so long to find her was that young villain had changed his name from Warwick to Wentworth. Thereby hiding for so long. The police reports from his death and your mother's murder listed her first name. I ventured deeper behind the report, interviewing several police officers, finding your mother's personal items stored at police headquarters. I found your mother's marriage certificate, her maiden name listed as Claythorn. Which now led me to you."

Kolby stared at the barrister, the man seeing the young man's émotions.

"Does my grandfather now know of her fate, and of me?"

"Yes, Kolby. I made that trip to Claythorn Manor myself not three days ago. His heart perhaps sensed the reality of her death, but a great strength now beats within it. For he now realized he has a hidden grandson. A grandson not known to him."

Kolby lowered his eyes, Timothée's arm tightening around him.

"I...I have a grandfather. She told me he was gone, both of my grandparents gone." Kolby softly said, Cedrick nodding.

"I don't know the reasoning behind that. Perhaps she just wanted to focus on the present, not the past. A family needs to know its heritage." the barrister said, picking up his briefcase again, taking a small envelope out of it.

"I'm going to have to ask you for a DNA sample, Kolby. It's just a formality, but your grandfather and you perhaps need further reassurances." Cedrick said, Kolby nodding.

"I understand, Cedrick. Truth needs validation."

The barrister smiled, handing Kolby the DNA kit.

"I'll show you how to use it, if we can have a little privacy." the man smiled, Kolby nodding, rising to his feet, Timothée like a second skin against him.

"Let's go into the dining room." Kolby softly said, the barrister nodding, following the two younger men.

Everyone looked at each other, Eli looking towards the dining room.

"Kolby's grandfather is an English duke! That's so amazing! So unbelievable!" he said, Austin's arm going around his young friend.

"That it is, Eli." he said, everyone nodding.

"I always knew there was something special about Kobe. I just never thought of that!" Dina said, Nancy smiling at her daughter.

"Kolby's special always. This won't change that young man's heart or self-worth." she said, Henry smiling and kissing her cheek.

"I agree wholeheartedly, my sweet."

The three men returned from the dining room a few minutes later, Cedrick placing the DNA test back in his briefcase, softly smiling at Kolby.

"I'll get this analyzed quickly, Kolby. I have great resources at my disposal. His lordship needs to know the results as quickly as I'm sure you will want to know." he said, smiling at the young man, Timothée's arm around him.

"I'm sure he does, Cedrick." Kolby softly said, the barrister nodding.

"This is as much a surprise to him as it is to you, Kolby. He was just as greatly shocked. I know this is sudden and shocking. I'll leave you to your friends. I'll contact you shortly at the numbers you've given me. You need time to process all this."

"Thank you for coming, Cedrick. We need to have further discussions about my now shown family." Kolby said, the barrister nodding.

"I know them well, Kolby. We'll talk soon. Good afternoon, everyone." Cedrick said, everyone rising, Henry walking his friend to the door, helping him on with his coat.

The two shook hands, Cedrick smiling at his old friend.

"He's an amazing young man, Harry. Ali's going to be so surprised." he smiled, walking out of the condo, Henry closing the door.

Henry walked back into the living room, Kolby staring at him.

"Ali, Papa Bear?"

Henry smiled, patting the young man's shoulder, seeing in that name no harbored anger against him.

"Your grandfather, Vincent, Cedrick and I all went to Oxford together, Kolby. I know both very well. We all had nicknames for each other." Henry smiled, Kolby nodding, sitting down on the sofa again, Timothée's arm around him immediately.

"This is so surprising, my love. So out of the blue!" he said, Kolby nodding.

"Such is my life, my love. A path of changing destinies." he softly said, Timothée kissing his cheek.

"Nothing changes for me, my love. You're still you, the man I love." Timothée said, Kolby smiling, their lips meeting.

Everyone smiled, seeing Timothée's love calming Kolby's soul.

"Ditto, my Timbo."

Kolby looked around, everyone smiling at him.

"This was a shocking surprise. I have a grandfather I've never met. I have real family." he said, looking at Henry.

"What kind of man is he, Henry?" Kolby asked, Henry smiling at him, seeing the emotion of Kolby's tired-looking face.

"I believe you need rest, Kolby. We'll talk later about your grandfather." he smiled, Kolby softly nodding.

"Let's go lay down for a bit, my love." Timothée said, Kolby nodding, the two rising, Nancy rising as well.

"I'll scan the kitchen, Kobe. I'll fix us all some lunch. You rest, I'll keep some for you two later." she smiled, kissing his cheek.

"I already have lunch organized, Nancy." Eli smiled, Nancy kissing the young man's cheek as he rose up beside her.

Timothée smiled at her, guiding his man down the hallway.

Henry's arm went around her waist, kissing her cheek.

"I'll help you, Eli." she smiled, the two walking into the kitchen as Henry released her.

Timothée guided Kolby into their bedroom, the young man climbing onto their bed, Timothée joining him, laying on his back, Kolby snuggling against his chest, Timothée wrapping his arms around him.

"I have a real family out there. I'm not alone anymore!" Kolby softly said, tears beginning to flow, sobbing against Timothée chest, the man holding him close.

"My love is close, Kobe. Hold onto that. I love you. And I'll welcome all of them as you will." he said, Kolby gradually calming down.

He didn't move, Timothée realizing he'd fallen asleep.

He held him close, staring up at the ceiling.

I love you, Kobe.

They'll see that, all of them.

And not one of them will hurt you.

This I promise you.

Timothée closed his own eyes, his love wrapped around Kolby's.
