The wish of one By Tommy Copyright 2000 Moth IND.
A teen sits in his room, a silent sob, a tear falls to the bedspread and soaks into it. The last few months of his life he's been alone in his room every night. His summers been hell. Anger builds up inside him, and it turns into sadness, he cries harder than ever before. He screams...and distorted words from the screams comes with it "WHY HAVENT I MET SOMEONE FOR ME!?!?!". In the past he's seen almost all of his friends get girlfriends and boyfriends, and hes been left alone to deal with his needs by himself. Hes not like his friends, he doesn't like the same things they do.
While they like girls, he likes boys. He doesn't know why, he just does. And there's nothing he can do about it. So he's goes on hoping for some special boy to come into his life. He's been waiting and waiting. And still...no one comes. After so long, he cant take the pain and suffering anymore. On the bed in front of him is his fathers gun, bullets beside it. He fights inside to try and figure out if he should do it, where he should do it, and who, if anybody, would really miss him when he's gone. No one, he thinks. No one will miss him.
With tears still streaming down his face he quickly loads the bullets into the gun. He stares at it for a long time before placing it to his head. Then from outside his window he hears someone scream hysterically "No!!!!!" He looks to the left and directly across from his window in the neighboring house is a boy face filled with extreme fear. Hes never seen this boy before. Who is he? He takes the gun from his head and looks at it. "Don't do it!!! Please!!!!" he hears the boy scream. Why would this boy hes never seen before care if he took his life? Does it really matter to him? He looks back at the boy. Then he realizes, for the longest time he hadn't looked out that window. He never had any reason to look out it. Nothing to see. No one out there. But there was, for over a month the boy across from him had lived in that room. He never saw the boy move in, cause he never looked out the window. But this boy had seen him in his room sad and lonely every day since the day he moved in. He sat in his room every day and stared across at him, hoping he'd look over at him, hoping to make him his friend. And until today he believed that he just didn't want to be his friend. That he didn't want any friends. Till he heard his cries, heard his screams, and watched him nearly take his life. He had to do something. He couldn't let him go like that. So he screamed for him not to do it.
He watches the boy stare deeply at the gun, and back at him. Being fearful if he left now that he would hear him take his life, he decides to scream "I'm coming over!!!" and he disappears from the window he sat at for the last month of his life. He runs to the house next to his and bangs on the door frantically and soon the boys mother answers. "I NEED TO SEE YOUR SON!" he screams and runs past her, up the stairs, and to the room hes stared at from the other side for the longest time. He stops when he reaches the door. He stares at it for a second. Then Slowly turns the knob and opens the door to see the boy sitting on his bed, gun in his hand, and tears streaming from his eyes.
The other boy looks over to see this boy in his room. Why has he come to me? Is this what I've been waiting for? He then watches as the boy slowly walks up to him, takes the gun from his hand, and begins to hug him tightly. He cries harder than ever before as he hugs him back. Yes...this is what i've been waiting for. He has come at last...My wish, has finally come true....
