The Professor and Sean - Book 2 - Part 7

(Ryan narrates)

I was surprised when I awoke the next morning. First of all, the sun was shining brightly into the bedroom. Sean was spooned up against me, but his regular breathing told me that he was still asleep. I didn't move a muscle, as I wanted him to get as much rest as possible. Even my need to urinate was held in check. I moved my head slightly to look at the alarm clock on the nightstand.

I looked again, straining my eyes. Could that be correct? I was amazed that the clock read 11:15 AM. Had we slept that long? And my lover was still asleep.

I moved my leg and then returned it to his, rubbing the sole of my foot up the inside of his leg and then moving my ass against his hardening cock. He groaned, stretched, and said to me in a sleepy voice,

"What a wonderful way to be awakened. Come here, Hon."

I turned and was immediately in his arms. We kissed with passionately and our hard cocks rubbed against each other. I began to giggle and he soon joined me, but still inquired,

"What's so funny, Hon?"

"We are, Baby. We both have to piss so much that there is no way we can pleasure each other unless it's in the bathroom. Also, I don't know how I would explain to Mom why we had wet the bed as I'm sure the housekeeper will tell her," I confided in him.

"Never thought of that. Guess we'd better take a long piss before we get in trouble. I'm sorry about last night, Ry. I was really out of line. I don't know what came over me."

"I forgave you last night. Let's forget the whole episode; we have a lot to do today. We need to tell everyone what's happening. Then we need to tell them that we may be going back home to try to straighten this out. And don't forget, Baby, we have to call your aunt and Father O'Rourke to ask them if they know of any reason why this should be happening. We will need to tell them what has happened to us in the past. Will you be able to do that, Sean?"

As he hugged me, he reassured me,

"I'll be fine if you are with me." I hugged him tightly as we hurried to the bathroom where we stood next to each other and relieved ourselves. We crossed the bathroom, started the water in the shower, and when it was adjusted and warm, we entered together. We kissed, and washed each other thoroughly, but we stopped short of having sex. Stepping out, we dried each other and adjourned to the bedroom where we dressed in shorts and T-shirts.

"I'm hungry, Hon. Can we get some breakfast?"

I smiled and hugged him again as I planted a kiss on him. He started to giggle, which made me happy and relaxed.

"I'm hungry, too, Baby, but not just for breakfast. I have an appetite for you. But it's past noon now, so we had better move smartly to the dining room. I can't imagine that anyone is still there from breakfast. It's lunchtime now. We'll have to see what Mom has in mind."

Hand-in-hand, we left our room and walked to the main house and the dining room. To our surprise everyone was there. Mom quickly stood and moved to us, taking Sean into her arms and kissing him on the cheek.

"Are you okay this morning, Sean. Last night was very difficult, sweetie. Come with me, you need to have some food. Oh, yes, good morning, Ryan. You need to have something to eat, too." and she hurried off with Sean. I just laughed softly and followed.

Rog walked over to me with a huge smile on his face. I smiled back at him as he said to me,

"I guess we know who Mom thinks is important. Why do you think that is?"

"You're really funny, Rog. You know Mom, she wants to help, but she really has this thing about Sean. You know he's younger than me, and cuter than me, and well, sexier than me."

Greg had come up to us and after putting his arm around me, kidded me, saying,

"Oh, our poor baby is now playing second fiddle to his young husband. Mommy likes him better than you. Poor Ryan."

"Asshole!" I said. Rog and Greg just laughed.

Dad now joined our group. He was almost laughing, but I suspected that he thought that might not be appropriate, so he smiled at me and said,

"How about something to eat? You must be hungry. You know your mother; she wants to take care of Sean. She thinks you are a man who can deal with all this stuff with intelligence and candor. She loves you, Ryan, just as I do. Let her baby your young husband. You, Rog, Greg and I can chat about last night, while she comforts him."

"But Dad, it's my job to comfort him. I have tried to be a good partner. I spent much of last night trying to help him. We have some ideas about what to do, but I don't think we should talk about it without Sean."

"No, I don't either," added Rog.

"Look, guys, I'm ready for lunch, and, good grief, Ry, you must be starving. Come on, let's eat," Greg said.

We moved to the table laden with all kinds of food, all appropriate for either breakfast or lunch.

I began to select some items for what was turning into a brunch. As I was doing this, I kept looking at my mom and Sean. When he saw me, he gave me that smile that made me want to go to him and hug him, but I just returned his smile. Mom was busily chatting with him, or maybe I should say Sean was listening and Mom was talking. I decided that he needed to be saved.

"Guys, excuse me for a minute, but I have to go and speak to Mom and Sean. I'll be right back. Greg would you get me a cup of coffee? Thanks."

With that, I took my nearly empty plate and moved over to where Sean was sitting with Mom. He noticed I was moving toward him and his eyes brightened and a smile moved across his face. I could feel my legs getting weak. God,' I thought to myself, he's so handsome,', but I said aloud,

"Hi, Mom, I hope I'm not interrupting anything private."

"Of course you're not. I would never say anything to you or to Sean, that I wouldn't want the other to know. I just wanted to help Sean with his breakfast and I wanted him to know that we were on his side; that if he didn't wish to say anything more about the problem in Vermont then he didn't have to." she said in a casual, off-handed way.

"Hi, Hon, Mom has been so helpful and so comforting. I know where you get your gentleness from, Ry. Are you going to sit with us?"

I placed my plate on the table as I slid into a chair. Mom gave me a questioning look, but said nothing. Sean leaned my way and gave me a peck on the cheek. Mom looked at my plate and then scolded me,

"Ryan Taylor, you don't have anything on your plate. I'll take care of that," she said as she moved away from us. Her walk was almost a determined stalking. I would be eating more than I wanted and probably eating more than I intended.

Sean had moved his chair closer to mine. He slid his hand on my thigh and was soon moving his hand over my crotch as my erection continued to grow.

"Thanks for saving me, Hon. I love Mom, but sometimes she takes me away from everyone else, especially you. She wanted to know about the voices, but I told her that we'd both talk about it later. She wasn't too happy about that."

"I think it might be a good idea if we gathered everyone together and told them about our experiences. Then we need to call Aunt Emily and Father O'Rourke. So let's do it. Come, let's go over to them."

"Okay, Hon. Let's do it now and get it over," said my lover.

We walked together hand-in-hand to the others. Mom was just about to return with my plate now filled to overflowing with food. She looked surprised that we had left the table. I knew I had to say something to her.

"Mom, we want to tell everyone about the voices and we want to tell it just once, so please join us and I'll eat the food you got for me. We both love you, Mom," I said to her.

Sean quickly added, "Mom, I especially want you to hear this because I know you will understand the situation, and perhaps you can offer us some ideas on how to deal with it."

Mom's face brightened and she smiled at her son, Sean, and told us,

"Sean and Ryan, I will do anything I can to help you. But I won't do a single thing unless you two eat something. Sean, go get you plate and bring it down here. You two can eat while you tell us what is happening."

Obediently, Sean retrieved his plate and quickly joined all of us. Rog and Greg were sitting on one side of the table and Mom, Dad, Sean and I were seated on the other side of the table. I was immediately aware of the concerned looks on the faces of our friends, which now masked any joy at being in Florida.

"I'm sorry that I have spoiled our vacation. It isn't something that I ever could have imagined would happen. I hope that you all will try to understand what we are about to tell you. Ry will tell you most of it, and I will add anything that I think is important. So, I seek your forgiveness for this as well as your undestanding. Ry, why don't you start."

I cleared my throat and began to tell about all of the experiences Sean and I had witnessed. I made it clear that I did not hear the voices as such, but I was aware of what was happening by Sean's behavior, and the sound of wind. I talked for quite a long time, but Sean did not interrupt me. Eventually I finished. There was silence.

"I just want to add this; you know from what Ry has told you that the voices are my Mom and Dad's.

I just want you to know that they never intended to hurt us, or for that matter, to frighten us. They simply wanted to be sure that I was happy and well. Each time they came to me it was to encourage me to live my own life and to be assured that I had found my life mate. I could tell them with certainty that I was loved completely by Ry. They were happy for me. That's all I wanted to add," said a quiet and solemn Sean.

I could see the tears in Mom's eyes, and there was a glistening in the three men's eyes, too. Mom spoke first.

"What an extraordinary experience! And, Sean, what a demonstration of real love, so strong, that your parents came back from the other side to be sure you were okay. That is such an amazing thing," she said with a sigh.

Rog stood up and came over to Sean. He gave him a big hug. Then he said,

"You, my young talented friend, are an extraordinary person. I can really understand why your parents' love for you would keep them in touch with you until they were certain you were happy. Luckily, you had selected Ry as your lover and partner for life. No one, including your parents, could disapprove of that selection. I don't know why the voices have returned to the cabin in Vermont, but I assure you that it has nothing to do with your relationship with Ry."

I stood up and gave Rog a huge hug. I thanked him for saying what he did about us. He shrugged and walked back to Greg. Greg stood up and, his voice breaking a little with emotion, said,

"As Rog said, you two are super guys who love each other very much. Rog and I try to be like you two, but it's difficult to match your level of love and caring. The voices, I know, need to tell you something important, Sean, but it's not about your relationship to Ryan. Just you wait and see."

Dad just came over and hugged both of us, and added,

"Whatever you need, Mom and I are here to help you. We can get you reservations for the flight home, if that's what you decide to do. We wish you could stay and solve the mystery here, but we understand the seriousness of the situation, and we would never stand in your way."

I knew I needed to add our plans about calling, so I told them,

"We're not going anywhere yet. We want to call Aunt Emily and Father O'Rourke and ask them if they can think of any reason for this happening. If they can't help us, then we will have to return home and drive to Vermont

"That seems reasonable," said Dad.

"Before you do that, I need to tell you two what was going on out here last night. I know you both noticed the group hug, so here goes," said a nervous Rog.

Sean sat facing Rog and Greg. Mom and Dad sat to our right. It was obvious that Rog was nervous, but I saw Greg take his hand and hold it tightly in his. Rog began softly speaking about his life and then he got to the horrible accident that took his mom, grandmother and grandfather. As he talked about this, I could feel Sean stiffen, recalling, I was sure the day he was told about his mother and father. There was a tension around the room, a certainty that everyone was moved by Rog's account, even though it was obvious that Mom, Dad, and Greg had heard about it last night.

When he arrived at the point in his story where he cut is wrists, Sean gasped audibly, and moved close to me putting his head on my shoulder and grabbing and holding my hand so tightly that it actually hurt. I didn't say anything to him. And as Rog continued about the pink water in the tub and his dreamlike thought of moving to join his mother and grandmother and grandfather, Sean sobbed aloud and all the attention in the room moved to him.

I had taken him into my arms, and Mom had hurried over to us. I kept telling him that everything was fine now. Rog, I told him, had survived and had made a wonderful life for himself. Mom was stroking Sean's head, and then it dawned on me, he had wanted to commit suicide, too. What a terrible moment it must have been for him.

Sean left me and went to Rog, hugged him and said,

"Oh, Dr. Fillimore, I'm so sorry. I know just a little about how you must have felt. My, God, what a horrible thing to have to face. You needed to have someone around you to help you. I would probably be dead right now if it hadn't been for Mrs. Foster, my senior English teacher. She helped me when I most needed it. I'm so glad your father found you and saved you. Where would I be now with my piano playing if you weren't here," Sean said as he left me and went to Rog and hugged him. The two had tears running down their faces as they acknowledged something the rest of us could only imagine, but had never experienced. I couldn't keep the tears from falling down my face, and I noticed Mom had some, too. Greg and Dad stood side-by-side, smiling, but with wet eyes.

I thought for a moment, `Here I am with people that I really care about, but especially with the person I most love in the whole world.'

Sean came to me, hugged me and kissed me. Somehow, I now had a more positive feeling about our Vermont problem.

Everyone sat around the table, Sean and I finishing out brunch, the others sipping coffee, or eating a dessert. The atmosphere was upbeat and reasonably pleasant. All the conversation was about trifling matters, and no one brought up the Vermont problem, our having to return home early, or even our not being able to enjoy our planned vacation in Florida.

It was Sean who brought us back to what was really on everyone's mind, when he said,

"Ry, we really should make those phone calls. If we're lucky, maybe everything will fall into place. And if it doesn't, then we will need to make plans to return home. Mom and Dad, I can't begin to tell you how upset I am that Ry and I may not be able to spend much time with you. And Rog and Greg, I feel like I have spoiled your vacation, too. I even feel terrible that Ry won't get the rest he certainly needs and has earned."

"Sean, my son, don't you worry about anything other than getting the matter settled. If you work diligently, who knows, you might still be able to spend some quality time with us. So just go about your business and don't worry that pretty head about any of us," Mom told us, and then she kissed him on the top of his head.

"Hey, you two, don't worry about us. With your Mom and Dad as hosts, we know we will be fine. And as your Mom said, if you move quickly, who knows we might still be able to spend some time together here in lovely Florida," added Rog.

"We second all of that," came the quick firm response from Dad and Greg.

"Thanks everyone, this means a great deal to Sean and me. And you, Baby, are not to worry about me resting. Until we can find a solution to this problem, neither of us will rest. But we will be together, and that makes me happy," I told him as I took his hand in mine.

He smiled that wonderful smile at me, and said softly, but with much love, "You always say the right thing, Hon. If I'm with you, no problem will seem too great. Thank you for loving me," he replied.

Dad was quick to fill the moment of silence that followed,

"You guys get into the study and make those phone calls. You might discover something important. Now get out of here," he ordered us.

"Ryan, before you leave, here are the phone numbers to reach Emily and Father O'Rourke. I've had them since the wedding. I know the one for Emily is current because I call her every week. I can't be sure about Father O'Rourke, but I suspect that it's still valid since it is a retirement home for priests. Good luck," my Mom sais to me.

A quick kiss and goodbye, and we headed to the study to make these important phone calls.

----------------------- Ryan continues to narrate)

Sean had been extraordinarily quiet. I wondered what he might be thinking, but I decided to wait until he was ready to tell me, or to accept the fact that it might be so personal that he could never tell me.

I found myself wondering about the workings of the world and of life. I knew that sometimes events conspire in our lives that change adversely its direction and perhaps the outcome. But I also knew, in a personal way, that sometimes the intersection of happenings can change our lives for the better. I remembered, with growing emotion, Sean's savage beating. That experience enriched our lives when family, friends, and even strangers, demonstrated their love, understanding, and support for us. That certainly was a vivid reminder of how some things happen for the best. At least, in our case it did. I fondly hoped and silently prayed that the Vermont problem, would, in some yet undisclosed way, be solved serendipitously. Sean broke my reverie,

"I'm scared!"

"What?" I asked, embarrassed that I had not been aware of his remark. I could hear the testiness in his voice when he repeated himself,

"I'm scared!"

Again, I had missed an opportunity to have demonstrate to him that I was aware of him and his concerns and fears. I spoke clearly and with feeling,

"Baby, please forgive me. I was thinking about the time when you were beaten, and things looked really bad, and then because we loved each other, and our family and friends were there to support us, the outcome was okay. Look at us today, Sean, we couldn't ask for more. Let's try to put the cabin problem in some kind of perspective."

"And just what the hell does that mean," asked an angry Sean.

"I mean, the cabin isn't the foundation of our relationship nor will it prevent us from adopting the boys, or doing whatever else we want to do. I know this for sure, Sean, that your parents have no desire to haunt us for the rest of our lives. I strongly suspect that they want us to know something. I guess there is a mystery and they want us to know the solution. Look, lover, I will do all that I can for you, as I always do, and always will do. So why are you angry with me?" I said with just a trace of anger in my voice.

"I'm not angry with you. I'm just scared and confused. And why do you say `us'? Aren't my parents trying to tell me something?"

"I'm sorry if the word us' offends you, Baby. But I really believe that your parents want us' to know because they accepted us' as a loving couple. I don't think they see us as you and me. I believe that they see the couple they love and they see us'.

That brought my lover into my arms, and whatever emotion had been separating us was thrown to the wind. He was mine again, and I was his.

"Forgive this craphead, Hon. You need to give me a good kick in the ass when I behave like a fifteen-year old filled with angst. Please, forgive me, and I will try to be more adult in my reactions. Lately I cry at almost anything. I have to get over that."

"You're forgiven, Baby. By the way, I want you to know that I have other plans for your ass and they don't involve kicking it," I told him with a broad smile and a slight laugh.

Sean finally smiled again, and that giggle, the one that I love so much, returned. I knew from that that we would be able to handle whatever might come as we worked our way through the Vermont problem.

"We have some important phone calls to make, Hon, but I want you to know that I want a rain check on your plans for my butt. Frankly, I have a couple of ideas about YOUR butt, too," he said with a big giggle.

"I certainly hoped so," I responded.
