Chapter 3

From the Diary of Derek Carter:

"People are so obtuse. They say ignorance is bliss, whatever. Sometimes I fell like such an outcast, I know they're all out to get me. They'll see, one of these days, they'll see."

From the Diary of Ronald Warner:

"I'd rather die than be untrue to myself or my thoughts. But before I leave this worthless place, I'll kill as many of the unworthy as I can. I want to watch the world burn, I've got hate in my heart and I love it!"

From Derek Carter's Facebook Page:

"PEOPLE ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STUPID! I hate listening to people at school talk, they're so ignorant, they say things like tooken instead of taken, pacific instead of specific, acrosT instead of across. Read a book people, or at least learn to speak so that you don't sound like a bunch of fucking morons.

One of these days I'm going to lose it and just kill, kill, kill. I like dead people, dead people don't bitch and moan about their stupid, petty problems. One of these days I'll be armed to the teeth and it's on! Goodbye NASCAR fans, so long CUNTry musc lovers, people who think wrestling is real, kiss your asses goodbye!

From now on I really don't care what anyone has to say unless I like them and lets face it, that's a damn short list. Fuck all those asshole jocks, fuck all those stupid teachers and their $40,000 grand a year. Let them call me crazy, it's just a word."

About a year ago, Carter and Warner got busted for breaking into the audio visual room at a local church. They claimed they didn't mean to hurt anything, that they'd just been goofing around. The church didn't prosecute them, they believed their sob story and Carter and Warner probably laughed at their kindness later on. Warner even wrote an essay about the incident.

Excerpt from Ronald Warner's essay:

"Sitting in jail was a totally unique experience. I got to see what it was like to be a real criminal. I sat there thinking about the things I'd done, I cried, it really hurt and I felt like shit. My parents don't have any respect for me anymore, I hope to get that back. I've learned that no matter what crime you commit, you're going to get caught, you have to think things through and realize that just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. I still can't think of one good reason for breaking into that church , other then now I'm on the right track, I've gotta be a good boy."

YouTube Video by Derek Carter regarding the church break in.

"People will believe anything you tell them. As long as you look sad, maybe shed a tear or two, they'll fall for anything. It's all a matter of knowing the right buttons to push, I could convince them I have a Siamese twin, or that I swam the English Channel. Sheep, just sheep."

From the Diary of Derek Carter:

"I'll start by lobbing a few firebombs, then the chaos will really begin. I'll start shooting the stupid ones first, the ones who think it's firecrackers. We'll go room by room, picking off fuckers who look at me funny or I just don't like. Maybe when we're done we'll take a car, pick a neighborhood and start torching houses. The cops will probably be on us by then and we'll kill them too. Like some fucking badge is going to stop me. I'm going to make my mark before they take me out.

Excerpt from YouTube Video titled D-Day 2012, dialogue voiced by Ron Warner:

"Disrespect me again and I'll blow you the fuck away. I'll stick the barrel of my shotgun in your mouth and ruin your whole fucking day."

Excerpt from D-Day 2012, dialogue voiced by Derek Carter:

"That's my friend you jock asshole, if you mess with him again I'll rip off your head and shit down your throat."

Excerpt from YouTube video, voiced by Ron Warner, off camera:

"Guns are bad, you can do way more damage with a bomb."

Excerpt from the diary of Derek Carter, the day before the Shelton High shooting:

"It all starts in about 12 hours. It's going to be harder than I thought but we're ready if anything I'm pumped. This asshole came into the store tonight, I recognized him from when I took piano lessons, I tried to be nice but he treated me like shit. That's what it's like at our school, all the jocks think they're better then the rest of us and they get away with everything, but they're about to get a lesson they'll never forget. I might die but that's part of the excitement, what's the point of living if you can't live on the edge?"

Excerpt from the Diary of Ron Warner:

"When all is said and done they're going to blame it on guns, video games, music, TV, my parents... I did this, just me."

11:30am BANG!

The cops found all kinds of shit like this when they raided Carter and Warner's homes. There was tons of it, journals full of random scribbling's, hard drives with hours of video, pages and pages of detailed instructions on how to make bombs. They'd planned it for months and the entire time they were doing it, no one had the slightest clue. They had an older friend buy the guns for them at a gun show, the son of a bitch said he had no idea what they were up to, but he was just covering his ass. Even if he didn't have a clue of how they'd use the weapons, he'd helped them buy guns that could never be traced to them, what did he think they were going to do, hunt rabbits?

At 11:20 on the day of the shooting, Fletcher Brown was walking out to his car to grab a book he'd forgotten to return to the library. He saw Carter and Warner, dressed in black form head to toe, they were fiddling with something in Carter's trunk and they saw him staring at them.

"I always liked you Fletch, why don't you head home?" Carter had advised.

Fletcher ignored the odd comment and got in his car. He couldn't remember where he placed his book, he looked for it for a long time. He sat in there, digging through all of the junk he kept in his car, until he heard the bell ring at 11:30.

"GO, GO, GO!" Warner shouted.

Fletcher popped his head up and watched Carter and Warner running towards the main entrance, each wearing a backpack and carrying a duffle bag in one hand, something he couldn't quite make out in the other.

The first students they encountered were Juan Sanchez and Alicia Johnson, they were having lunch in the open air atrium outside the cafeteria. Carter raised his shotgun and killed Juan, Warner took out Alicia. A freshman named Ryan Gardner stuck his head out of the boys bathroom to see what the noise was, Warner fired at him but luckily for Ryan, the pellets just grazed him. He was wounded and bloody but he escaped with his life.

Confusion broke out in the cafeteria, students started for the door that led out to the atrium. Witnesses heard Carter and Warner talking to each other in the hall.

"We're doing it man, we're finally fucking doing it."

"Vengeance is mine!"

At 11:35, Warner hurled Molotov Cocktails at the entrance to the cafeteria. The burst of flames drove the students back and Warner and Carter started to fire into the crowd. Kyle Williams, Beth Martinez, Charlie Baxter and Coach Gunner went down in a hail of bullets. Their deaths bought time for the other students to run for the emergency exits or take cover under tables and behind counters. Witnesses reported that Carter and Warner were whooping and laughing the entire time.

Carter entered the cafeteria first, while Warner provided cover. Carter waved his gun around and started shouting at the frightened students.

"Awwww are you guys scared!" shouted Carter, "don't be, it's no use, you're all gonna die anyway! Everyone in a varsity jacket get up, come on, all you jock big shots, let me see those smiling faces!"

Brandon Myers stood up, he was terrified but he didn't know what else to do. Brandon was a well-liked student, he played football and was a member of the national honor society. He was 17 years old when he stood up and Derek Carter blew a fatal hole in his chest.

Jessica Sharp and Leroy Clark were huddled under a table together, they were juniors and had been dating since freshman year. Leroy was shielding Jessica with his body, when Carter stuck his head under the table.

"Peeka Boo, I see you," Carter laughed, then he shot Leroy in the face.

Leroy's brains were blown all over Jessica, they were in her hair and she shook with horror, but it only lasted a split second, Carter shot her without hesitation.

After killing the couple, Carter and Warner scanned the room, then retreated to the library upstairs. They took their time making their way to the library, setting their booby-traps as they went. More students were injured or killed as they entered the library. Marion Wright was standing in the open when they entered, she was frozen in fear. Carter walked up to her and put his gun in her face, he tormented her, teased her about how he was going to kill her, that's when Patton stepped in.

Patton placed his body between Marion and Clark.

"Just leave her alone, she hasn't done anything to you, none of us have," said Patton.

"Fuck off you jock douche bag," said Carter, then he pulled his trigger.

BANG!

Patton's chest exploded in a cloud of blood, he was dead before he hit the floor.

Marion let out a blood curdling scream and Warner stepped up behind her. He put the barrel of his shotgun to the back of her head.

BANG!

They started laughing and looking for more victims. Patton's cell phone lie on the floor next to the table he'd been hiding under. I heard everything that happened.
