The Mennonite The Community - 9 CGW
Cedric and Lana returned to the Giving Community and stopped by Rob and Joe's home to check in and see if there were any accommodations available for Lana until the new homes were finished. Joe said; there was always a place in their home for Gunner and Helmut's mother since she was kin folk.
Their acceptance of her shocked Lana, she was the wife to the man that ordered their son dead. Rob saw the look upon her face and stated; we are a lot more tolerant of others than they are of us.
Lana thanked her host and asked when she could see her boys, Rob said; in due time, first we need to speak of your future here in the Community. Lana bowed her head and said; of course Elder, what is expected of me to stay a part of my son's lives and to get to be a part of my Grandson's life.
Rob chuckled and replied; I may be an Elder but first and foremost we are kin-folk and we all stick up for one another, if that husband of yours shows up here to cause any trouble he will be dealt with harshly.
Lana replied; there was no way after her son and her brother both left him lying in the dirt on two separate occasions would Salas Stroud ever show his face up in The Giving Community period.
Rob snickered and said; the Davis temper got the best of him then. Yes sir it did replied Lana.
Rob hollered at his two youngest sons and told them to front and center, Dakota and Mason were in the living room in a flash, boy's I have a mission for you if you are willing to accept it. They were intrigued with the mission, and what it curtailed. Go tell Danis, Gunner Helmut and Chandler that they have ten minutes to get their tails here to the house and they had better not be late, and I won't accept the excuse that the baby was sleeping. He is always up morning, noon and night.
Lana remarked that Helmut was always up when he was a child but Gunner was the quiet one. The boys snickered and walked out the door.
Rob rearranged the high-backed chair so it was back to the front door so no one could see Lana sitting in it until they came into the room.
The plan worked like clockwork, the little ones were back in five, and then on the ten minute mark the doorbell rang. Rob's voice boomed, get inside this house. The boys walked past the chair and didn't notice Lana sitting there very quietly. The faced Rob and Danis spoke first; what can we do for you Dad Rob.
We have a visitor and you four boys rudely walked past her without saying hello, weren't you boys taught any better than to disrespect your elders.
Helmut and Gunner broke down when they saw their mother sitting there in the chair. Lana said; hello my boys aren't you going to introduce me to my new son-in-laws and my new Grandson. Both of the Stroud boys were beside themselves, they were so glad to see their mother. Helmut asked; are you alone and how did you get here mother.
Lana replied; yes I'm alone and your Uncle Cedric brought me here so I can get to know my Grandson and be a part of his life as well as these fine young gentlemen here, my new son-in-laws Danis and Chandler. Now bring me my grandson so he can get to know me. The bond was set as soon as she touched the child; she wasn't going anywhere, she was home to stay.
Cedric stated; looks like we will be having a house guest for a long time. Lana looked at Gunner and said; well Helmut beat you to the punch when are you and Danis expecting you first child, son.
Little Mason broke the ice when he said; Grandma Lana you know it doesn't work that way, try as he may Mr. Gunner can't make a baby inside Danis they have to wait until the Angel Lady brings them one that other people leave behind or they no longer want.
Lana said; out of the mouths of babes it will come forth as the truth. Lana smiled; thank you Young Mason I forgot that, so when will you two start the proceedings to adopt a child of your own.
Gunner blushed at his mother's words and said; as soon as the home is finished then we will start.
Lana stated; then you better finish this home of yours soon because I want me a whole passel of them to spoil rotten. At least ten each should do boys, I need me some little girls also, don't forget.
Helmut and Gunner were glad to see their mother, but Gunner asked; what about father how did you get him to let you come here for a visit.
I'm a free woman Gunner Stroud, I left his sorry ass; no man will ever deny me access to my first born Grandson or my children ever again. Plus your Uncle Cedric left his sorry ass lying in the dirt after he raised his fist to me in anger and control. No man will ever do that to me again, a person can only crawl for so long until they face their bully and overcome them forever.
Joe interrupted and said; Lana will be staying in the spare guest room until the new homes are built. So you boys had better get it in high gear, now when do the Grandparents get to babysit for the night, so you two can have some alone time Helmut and Chandler Stroud. Helmut looked to his mate and said; I would like to keep him to ourselves for proper bonding if you don't mind.
Lana remarked; give it a few weeks of little to no sleep and you will be begging us for a night off to sleep, not to play around in the bedroom. Cedric and Rob busted out laughing at Lana's statement; spoken like a true grandmother.
Helmut kissed his mother goodnight and loaded up with a diaper bag and Little Cedric and announced he was ready to go home for the night, his son needed his rest. Chandler remarked; looks like the father hen is ready to take his chick to the nest and snickered, Helmut cut his eyes towards Chandler but then smiled and said; you'd better believe it my love so please get the door I'm packing precious cargo here. Chandler kissed Helmut on the lips as he passed him and said; anything you want my dear and smiled. Helmut turned red and walked out the door, on the way home he said; I can't believe you kissed me on the lips in front of my mother Chandler.
Helmut Stroud you are a big ole prude, embarrassed over a little kiss on the lips in front of your mother when just a few minutes earlier she was trying to babysit for us so we could fuck our brains out. Helmut realized what had taken place and he started to laugh, I guess she was wasn't she and I messed it up for us.
Chandler said; just because he is a few feet from us in his crib, when he's asleep we can still have a little personal time. Helmut huffed and said; absolutely not, there will be no sex while the baby is in the room with us, I'm not a Neanderthal or a sex maniac Chandler Reed-Stroud and stomped off towards the house. Chandler snickered at his man and ran to catch up and open the door.
At 42 Cedric Davis was a self-made man and a very good looking catch for any woman, but after his Emma passed away during childbirth and he lost his firstborn he was off all females, many had tried to entice him into a bed for the night but none had succeeded in bedding the big man. If he ever let another in his bed she would have to be very special. He had met the future Mrs. Cedric Davis in Spanish Lookout he just didn't know it. She worked at a local business and he had caught her eye, she was a young widow at 34 - Zara Beth Runnels was a very nice Mennonite widow who lost her husband of 6 years in a car wreck, leaving her with 2 young children to raise a boy Emmitt 5 and a girl Angelica 3. He had no family to take her, so the Mennonite Community looked after her since he passed away. She had waited the proper amount of time 1 year and was eligible to marry again if she wished, but all of the younger men folk wanted a fresh bride and the older widowers didn't wish to raise another family.
Danis hugged his parent's goodbye and was ready to go home to help with the baby if needed. Gunner said his goodbyes to his mother and his in-laws and the extended family, he noticed Mason was a little sad and said; Mason why don't you come home with us and you can help out with the baby if they need the help tonight. The boy was off the couch in a second and had a bag in hand ready to go out the door; Pop Joe looked at his son and asked if he forgot anything? Young Mason ran and hugged all of the adult's necks then was out the door with Gunner.
Dakota sighed and said; one down and two more to go, at least I won't get kicked all night long. Rob asked if a new set of bunk beds would help out with the sleeping arrangements, Dakota responded; boy would it help until we get our own room each in the new house, then it will peace on earth. Rob laughed at his son and his honesty.
Lana remarked; you two are wonderful with the children, I never realized that two men could love children that weren't their very own like the two of you love these children. So my sons are just as normal as other people, they have just chosen people who are right for them. Salas said they were cursed to Hell for falling for another man, but he is the man that is cursed to Hell for his actions all of his life, my boys are fine young men full of love for others.
Dakota remarked; couldn't have said it any better myself if I tried to. The adults laughed and Rob said; get ready for bed young man. Okay Dad I will and he left the room leaving the adults alone, Joe remarked it was getting late and he needed to show Lana to her room and bath. Rob replied I'll be waiting for you in bed when you're ready and left the room.
Lana remarked to Joe; you have a good man in your life, we should all be so blessed in life to find someone so grand, Joe blushed and thanked Lana for her complement on Rob.
As soon as Joe had Lana settled in her room he couldn't wait to get to Rob so they could make sweet love for the night, he just hoped they didn't get carried away with a guest in the home.
Gunner and Danis arrived and Little Cedric was raising heck, looks like no one was going to get to sleep soon with a baby that has colic. They all took shifts with him and about 4:30 am he finally settled down so they could get some rest. Danis whispered to Gunner are you sure you want a whole houseful of children. Gunner kissed Danis and responded; only if I have you by my side then anything is possible plus we'll use the grandparents as backups. Danis snickered, but the sleep was short lived as C.J. woke up for his 6:00am feeding and diaper change, who knew a newborn could poop that much and the stink was horrendous. The washer was getting a workout as much as this kid went through diapers.
Four very tired men sat at the breakfast table looking at the meal trying to gather the strength to eat it when young mason dug into the pile of bacon and looked at them and stated; you 4 are a bunch of light weights, just wait until he hits them terrible two's you haven't seen anything yet. Gonna need a leash with that kid for sure.
Helmut looked at Chandler and asked; shall we call in the backups. Chandler looked at his man over the hot cup of coffee that was doing no good and uttered one word, Grandma.
Helmut picked up his phone and called Rob and Joe's and asked if Grandma Lana would like to get to know her First Grandson. All at the table could hear Rob laughing over the phone and what he said; the rookies need backup, Grandma Lana are you ready for him.
In two minutes the front door opened and in walked Lana and Joe they looked at the 4 exhausted boys and started to snicker, Mason responded these guys are a bunch of light weight pansies, looks like the pro's need to take over plus they can't even cook bacon correctly some of its half raw and the other is burnt beyond belief and not's even start talking about them biscuits the dog won't touch. Joe ushered his son out the door, Lana picked up Little C.J. and his bag she looked at the boys and said; better get a few hours of rest those homes won't build themselves and they walked out the door.
The homes were going great and Little Cedric was now sleeping throughout the night at 7 weeks old he was growing fast, every day was another first in his life. A tired Helmut walked in the house when saw a very worried looking Chandler sitting at the table holding the baby, he'd been crying.
Helmut asked; if everything was okay with the baby. He responded; my sister called and has asked for us to come to the Cayes, she needs to speak to us soon. Helmut asked; did she say if it concerns C.J. or what? No she just said; needed to speak to us both soon as possible. Helmut bristled up and said; we will not give up our son just because she has a change of heart, period.
Helmut; there's no sense getting upset before we know anything, let's just hear her out before we plan what we must do to protect our son, responded Chandler.
The next morning Cedric flew his Nephew and Chandler to the Cayes to meet his sister, Lana kept little C.J.
As they touched down Chandler started to get sick, his nerves were shot, Cedric rented a golf cart and they headed to where Chandler's sister was staying.
They pulled up and there was a young dark headed woman out in a hammock sipping tea, she was the female version of Chandler. Chandler approached his sister and she hugged his neck as the other two stayed at the cart. Chandler motioned Helmut to come over and meet his sister, he gave her a hug and they all sat down. Cedric Davis stayed at the cart. There was an intense discussion going on when Helmut got up and walked to the cart where his uncle was at, he started; well Uncle Cedric do you think Little C.J. would like the idea being a big brother so soon, seen like she met up with his father and she's already with child again by him.
Cedric responded doesn't she know what causes that yet, one time is a oops but twice with the same man is a little much being that C.J. is only 7 weeks old, he must be some kind of stud. Helmut remarked a married stud at that, from Germany she showed a photo of him to us and we could almost pass as relations to each other.
And to let you know we are taking this child, so C.J. can have a full blood sibling, Chandler has already proclaimed this and it isn't up for debate by anyone, he won't let these children be separated since he's the biological uncle and I'm the father per say.
Cedric was on cloud nine, he walked over to Chandler's sister and handed her his business card and told her if she needed anything concerning the baby she was to contact him personally, all hospital bills were to be sent to his address, she thanked him. Chandler hugged his sister and they all went to a local caf? for breakfast.
It was even more important they get the homes finished in record time with another child on the way. Helmut and Chandler were very excited at the prospects on being parents again even more so that C.J. would have a full blooded sibling to be raised with, who knew if Chandler's sister kept getting knocked up by the same guy once a year they might end up with a house full before they knew it.
Three months later Candler's sister called and announced that it was twins this time but she didn't ask the sex because she figured they would want to wait to find out. Helmut was ecstatic when Chandler told him; it's finally time to tell the rest of the family about the addition to our family. Danis called his parents and asked for a family dinner, Helmut and Chandler need to tell the family some news.
Joe and Lana had prepared a nice meal and everyone took a seat, Chandler sat the baby next to Grandma Lana to feed, he was wearing his new bib. It took a few minutes for Rob to read the Bib; he asked Lana did she get a load of the new bib that C.J. was wearing. Lana looked at her grandson and started to read the bib, "World's Greatest BIG BROTHER" she squealed out in excitement; when is it going to be here.
Helmut took Chandlers hand in his and said; they will be here in about 5-1/2 months or so because twins are notorious for coming early in Chandler's family.
Lana and Joe could hardly believe their ears when the heard Helmut say, they would be here. Helmut said; that C.J. and his full siblings would be raised just as that, full-blooded siblings.
The whole place was ciaos for the next 5-1/2 months, getting ready for the twins arrival. Two of everything was purchased for the nursery at the new house. Helmut was sick every morning it was hilarious that he had Morning Sickness; Chandler kept his sister informed of the events taking place for the baby's arrival, there were even photos e-mailed of poor Helmut hugging the toilet.
Chandler received a phone call at 3:05am it was his sister, she was in labor and if they hurried Helmut and Chandler could be in the delivery room for the birth since Helmut was listed as the father and Chandler was the Uncle by blood.
They arrived to the hospital just in time as the first child entered the world, an 11lb. 7oz. boy, followed by his sister 9lb.6oz, everything was going fine when another pain hit and soon a late bloomer was born a 9lb.2oz little girl. Chandler's sister was exhausted. The Doctor warned her and Helmut against any more babies too soon after this birth, her body needed the rest to recover from the trauma of triplets. Helmut honestly said; you don't have to worry about me touching her carnally.
The children were named, Robert Gunner Reed-Stroud, Lana Josephine Reed- Stroud and Roberta Alain Reed-Stroud. There would be 4 children under 1 in the Helmut and Chandler Reed-Stroud household and a lot of restless nights for sure.
All anyone had to remember was C.J, R.G., L.J., and R.A. when calling the children.
The homes were finished and filling up fast, Gunner and Danis had an application in for adoption of a child but there had been no action on it for the time being but all would soon change.
Lana had introduced her brother Cedric to the widow Runnels, he was quite taken with her, they were getting along well when her son Emmitt walked up and said; if you think she has a farm or anything for you to steal from her think again mister, my paw was a poor Mennonite and left her with only two small children and a whole lot of broken dreams, so if that's what your after keep stepping. Cedric was impressed at the young man protecting his mother and sister, He stuck out his hand and introduced himself to young Emmitt Runnels and assured the boy he wasn't interested in his mother's fortune, or the lack of one.
Emmitt looked up at Cedric Davis and said; then you are an odd duck mister, most men want to know what's in it for them.
That's me son an odd duck, since I need for nothing when it comes to land or home, maybe you could bring your mother and sister along for a visit and a cookout at my home in phase II. Young Emmitt looked at Cedric and stated that the only homes that had been built in Phase II were the three on the hill and one was a monster in size. Cedric said; that one is mine young Emmitt and I might need some help finding my way around it and the stables there.
Zara Beth apologized for her son's brashness. Cedric said; think nothing about it, I'm glad to see a son that cares for his mother and sister's safety and welfare. My sister Lana and the extended family will be there for an old fashioned cookout meal, 25 - 150 people if you include all of the children and in-laws. Zara Beth accepted his invite to the meal. Cedric Davis took to one knee and shook young Emmitt's hand and thanked him for protecting his mother from others that didn't have her best interest at heart.
This meal would be a giant event; it would formally open up Phase II 1500ac for home sites 500ac for public lands/roads and 500ac for community farming to help feed the residents of the Giving Community Phase II.
