Chapter Thirty Six – Julie's Voice Message

New Year's Day dawned bright and sunny. We had stayed up late celebrating. We even let the little guys stay up past their normal bedtimes! I expected everyone to sleep in, especially the little ones. As I lay with my head on Rick's chest, listening to his steady heartbeat, I heard Uncle Dylan get up with Dylan Jr. The little guy sure had a good set of lungs! What's even more amazing is that Rick is still asleep!

Uncle Dylan and Uncle Corey are in the room next to us. Given the noise level next door, the walls must be pretty thin. I lifted my head from Rick's chest and looked into my husband's handsome face. I love how happy he looks when he's sleeping. A smile played at the corners of his mouth.

I laid my head down on his chest and Rick started snoring softly. The snoring is a recent phenomenon. I thought only old people snored! I've had a lot of fun at his expense because of it! Rick went to see the doctor about it, and was told that it was caused by Rick's allergies.

I was surprised that he was snoring. I thought his allergies wouldn't have been as bad, since we've been on the beach for several days now. Rick likes to sleep on his back with his arms wrapped around me. We've slept like that for years. When he first started snoring, I suggested that we sleep with him spooned up next to me; but Rick said he couldn't sleep that way. It seems he gets too horny when his steel pole rubs up against me for some reason! I convinced him to try sleeping that way, and I always ended up getting well fucked! I have no complaints about that and neither does Rick, since we both love having sex. However, Rick insists he sleeps better on his back. Thinking about having hot sex with my husband reminded me of last night. After we got everyone into their beds, we made love to each other repeatedly. The sex was so good, just thinking about it gave me a hard on! I know we weren't exactly quiet about it; so I'm sure we'll hear about our wild and crazy night from our teenagers, particularly Kyle! Oh, well! My only comfort in that regard is that we weren't the only horny couple last night! Uncle Bob and Uncle Corey were pretty frisky last night, and I'm sure they didn't waste any time showing their husbands some love!

I shifted my position as my thoughts went to our plans for tomorrow. We are flying to Toronto in the morning and driving to St. Catharines from there. Uncle Carl and Aunt Hannah called us yesterday to confirm that our house was all ready for our arrival. I had asked them to stock up the pantry for us. Aunt Hannah reported that she had picked up the things on my grocery list, and that she had made up all of the beds with fresh sheets. She is a real sweetheart! I'm looking forward to being home. I know that may sound funny because I grew up on a small farm in Saskatchewan. However, our family spent most of our summers in St. Catharines with my Dad's family.

St. Catharines seems even more like home to me now, because Mom and Dad have bought a house there as have Uncle Dave and Aunt Mary. In addition to having family there, most of our college friends from the University of Minnesota have moved to Toronto. We've invited all of them to a big party at our home in St. Catharines. I'm pretty excited to catch up with them.

I have been pushing to move home for a few years now. Now that Rick is out of a job, I plan to press him hard about moving our family to Canada; because Virginia has become less and less friendly to gay families since we've lived here. We've stayed in Virginia for Rick's job; but now that he isn't working, we no longer need to live in a state where we're treated as second class citizens, or worse. Also, we are going to lose our support network because Zach and Todd are talking about moving back to Toronto when Zach retires from playing hockey. I continued to mentally go over my arguments for moving to Canada when Rick stirred and then opened his eyes.

I said, "Good morning, Babe."

Rick smiled at me and pulled me on top of him. "Good morning," he replied. I repositioned myself until I felt his manhood pressing against my back door. I relaxed and let him in.

Rick said, "I love waking up to you."

"I think you like waking up to good sex is what you really mean," I said, leaning down to kiss him.

"That, too," he responded, as he began caressing my body.

Rick kissed me and said, "Thank you for the wonderful wake up call. I've never felt better." He grinned up at me, giving my nipples a little tweak.

"It was my pleasure," I said, smiling at my gorgeous husband.

"Are you ready to go for run on the beach?" he asked.

"Yes, let's go," I said. I rolled off of him and got on my feet. I took his hand and pulled him into my arms. I looked up into his eyes and said, "I want to get as much of you as I can before I leave for Austin."

"You're not going to miss me or anything like that are you?" Rick asked, grinning from ear to ear.

I smiled at him. "You know I'm going to miss you terribly. We've not been apart for any extended period of time since the day we were married."

"I know," Rick said. "I'm not sure I'll know how to act without you by my side. You have always been there when I've come home from work. I know the children are going to miss you as much as I will. It's going to be really weird staying at home with the kids without you there."

We quickly dressed in our running shorts and t-shirts. We waited to put our shoes on until we were outside, since we didn't want to wake anyone. We stretched and hit the beach. We decided to run in the opposite direction from where we went yesterday. It felt good to be out running in the cool morning air.

Rick reached over and squeezed my butt as he ran alongside me. "You've got the best looking butt around."

"Thank you," I said, grinning at him. "However, I think yours is better looking than mine."

Rick laughed and said, "I think you need to demonstrate how much you appreciate how good looking it is."

I responded, "I think I will do just that!"

Rick commented, "We didn't see David on the beach this morning."

"I think he was able to get everything worked out in his mind yesterday," I said. "Kyle talked to me last night about David and Mark. He thinks they are love."

"We'll have to wait and see if that is true. I'm thinking it's more of crush, than anything else," Rick said, pulling his t-shirt off and stuffing it into the band of his running shorts. Seeing his hot, sweaty upper body distracted me for a few moments. Rick ruffled my hair and said, "Earth to Glenn."

"I'm sorry. I got distracted," I said.

Rick laughed and said, "You are so predictable! I'll have to remember not to take off my shirt next time I want to talk to you!"

I grinned and said, "I can't help it. You're just so sexy when you get all sweaty."

Rick shook his head and said, "I swear you have a one track mind."

"I try to be consistent," I said, grinning from ear to ear.

Rick reached over and ruffled my hair. "You are such a sex maniac! I was talking about Mark and David when you zoned out."

"Yes, I do remember that much. Then you took off your shirt, so it's your fault that I got sidetracked," I said.

I jumped away from him, but didn't quite escape a whack on my butt as he flicked his t-shirt. I yelped, "Ow!"

"That's for blaming me!" Rick exclaimed, laughing as I rubbed the spot where he caught me. I stuck my tongue out at him, causing him to laugh even harder!

Returning to Rick's comment about David, I said, "I think you might be right about David having a crush on Mark. However, it might be more than that. Did Kyle talk to you about Catharine?" Seeing Rick shake head, I continued, "She has invited him to attend an early morning bible study at her church."

Rick looked at me and asked, "What's wrong with his girlfriend coming to our home to do bible study?"

"It seems that they have bible study before school every morning for the high school students that belong to her church. The study sessions are held at the church across the street from the high school," I said.

Rick said, "I think our family bible study is sufficient. I don't see a need for Kyle to add another activity to his already busy schedule, especially one that requires him to get up even earlier in the morning than we do already."

"I agree with you. I think Kyle is already burning the candle at both ends as it is. I told him we would talk about it and let him know our decision. He tried to tell me he had cut back on his activities because football season is over," I said.

Rick shook his head in disagreement. "He replaced football with the cross country team and added working out on the weights with us most evenings. No, I think we're making the right decision, Babe. If he really wants to be with his girlfriend, he needs to reprioritize his schedule to cut back somewhere." Rick paused and said, "We need to take Kyle to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get his driver's permit. He's old enough to begin learning how to drive."

"I hope you're planning to teach him how to drive, because I would become a nervous wreck if I had to do it. I'll take him out driving after you've helped him learn the basics," I said.

Rick laughed, "Okay, I'll do that; but you have to take David out driving when it's his turn."

"You've got a deal," I said, hoping Rick would forget about having to switch off when that time came.

We finished our run with an all-out sprint back to the house. We walked around a bit to cool down. We shed our shoes on the deck and left them outside. We entered the house to find everyone was still asleep. Rick led me upstairs to our room and into the en suite. We stripped out of our running clothes and Rick turned on the shower. He adjusted the temperature and pulled me under the water with him, and I molded my body to his as he kissed me deeply. We came up for air and Rick said, "Wow! I think I'll have to fuck you first thing in the morning EVERY morning from now on!"

I grinned and said, "You won't get any complaints from me." I grabbed the soap and lovingly began washing his body. When I finished, he took the soap bar from me, doing the same for me. We washed each other's hair, finishing our shower with a passionate kiss. Rick turned off the water, and we dried each other off. We dressed in our bikini swim suits and pulled on board shorts over the top.

I looked at our reflection in the mirror and grinned. "I think we could be models with our dark tans and toned bodies."

Rick's eyes met mine in the mirror. "I think you mean we could be actors in gay movies." He put his arms around my waist and kissed the back of my neck. He saw my expression of pure pleasure in the mirror and laughed. "I have you just where I want you, Babe."

I leaned back against his chest and said, "It's the place where I most want to be in the entire world."

There was a knock on the door and we heard JJ's voice. "Dad and Daddy, are you awake?"

Rick released me and opened the bedroom door. "Yes, son, we're awake. Are you ready for some breakfast?"

JJ nodded his head and said, "Yes, we're hungry."

Josh came up behind JJ. "May we have pancakes?"

Rick said, "Yes, we can make pancakes for everyone this morning. Go change into your clothes and meet us in the kitchen."

The twins scurried back to the room they shared with Egan. We made our way to the kitchen, and were soon joined by the twins and Egan. The boys seated themselves at the table. I pulled down the pancake mix and a bowl. Rick turned on the pancake griddle. I said, "JJ, you need to get out the milk and Josh you can get me the eggs." They quickly obeyed and brought me the milk and eggs.

Egan said, "Uncle Glenn, may we have sausage with our pancakes?"

"Yes, we can if you'll get them out of the refrigerator," I said.

Egan walked over and pulled out the link sausages. He walked over and placed them on the counter. "I'll get the frying pan out to cook them in." He bent down and retrieved a frying pan from the cabinet and placed it on the stove.

"Go ahead and put the sausages in the pan and turn the burner on medium heat," Rick said. Egan did as he was asked.

"You'll need a spatula to turn the sausages," I said. It amazed me how tall Egan was. I guess since I didn't see him every day, like when we lived upstairs from him in Atlanta, it seems that he miraculously shot up. "How old are you now, Egan?"

He said, "I turned eleven a while ago, Uncle Glenn. You sent me a birthday card with a gift card, remember?"

"I do remember. It's just that you've gotten so tall," I said, amazement showing in my voice. "That means Diane must be seven years old."

Egan nodded his head in agreement. "She will tell you that she's almost seven and a half!"

Rick laughed and said, "That sounds like my niece."

Egan scowled and said, "She's a royal pain. I wish I had a little brother instead."

"But you have to admit she's cute," I said.

Egan shook his head vehemently. "No, she's not!"

I patted him on the shoulder. "It's okay, Egan. I have a little sister, too. She was a major pain when she was little; but as we got older, she became one of my best friends." Egan looked at me like I had just sprouted two heads. I laughed and said, "Seriously, Egan, things do get better." Egan shook his head and rolled his eyes. He gave a snort of disbelief, and concentrated on cooking the sausages. I looked at Rick over the top of his head and grinned. Rick grinned back and shrugged. We finished cooking breakfast for the hordes of hungry people still snug in their beds. We soon had all of the little ones sitting around the table eating breakfast. I named them off as I counted them, "JJ, Josh, Egan, Diane, Victoria, and Samantha. That makes six of you."

JJ said, "Dylan Jr. is upstairs with Uncle Corey."

"Kyle, Purev, David, and Ashley are still in bed," Egan said. "So that makes 11 of us. Mom says that Uncle Bob will soon have twins."

Victoria said, "There are 15 adults. There's Great Grandpa, Great Grandma, Grandpa, Grandma, Mom, Dad, Uncle Roger, Uncle Keith, Aunt Kerry, Uncle Corey, Uncle Dylan, Uncle Bob, Uncle Jasper, Uncle Rick, and Uncle Glenn."

"So how many of us are there if you add the children and the adults together," Rick asked.

"26," Victoria said proudly.

"That's a lot of people to have in one house," Rick said.

Samantha piped up, "But it's a big house and we like being at the beach with our family."

"Me, too," I said. "When everyone is finished eating, please put your dishes in the dishwasher."

We finished eating and cleaned up the kitchen. I left the extra food in the warmer for the others, and joined the children in front of the big screen television. They were watching Shining Time Station. Rick moved over and made room for me next to him. I snuggled up to him and leaned my head on his shoulder. I took his hand in mine and we watched Thomas the Tank Engine and friends.

After Shining Time Station ended, JJ said, "Daddy, we want to build sand castles on the beach."

"Okay. Who else wants to go down on the beach?" I asked. There was a chorus of `I do' from the younger set. "Alright then, everyone has to go get their swimsuits on and meet back down here in 10 minutes." There was a mad scramble as the kids raced out of the room to get their swimsuits on. I looked at Rick and said, "I think that includes us."

Rick laughed and said, "Help me up."

I stood up and took his hand to pull him to his feet. However, instead of standing up, he pulled me onto his lap. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me deeply. He rubbed noses with me and said, "I had to get that last kiss in while we were alone."

I laughed and said, "Okay, Casanova. Let's go before we get mobbed by the little munchkins."

We got to our feet and Rick put his arm around my waist to escort me to our bedroom. We changed into our matching powder blue bikini swimsuits. I grinned at my husband when I saw his lusty look. He pulled me into his arms and put his hands on my butt and squeezed, kissing me deeply. I pulled back as my very erect pole popped out of my bikini and observed, "We won't be able to go out in public with our dicks sticking out of our swimsuits."

Rick grabbed our twin erections and started jerking us off. I moaned with pleasure as I kissed him, intertwining my fingers in his hair. There was a knock on the door. "I guess we'll have to pull on our board shorts," Rick said, laughing.

There was another knock on the door and Josh said, through the door, "We're ready to go." We pulled on our board shorts and I grabbed our beach bag with our beach supplies. Even though all of us were deeply tanned after spending several days in the sun, we still needed to use sunscreen.

Rick opened the door and found Josh and JJ standing there in their swimming trunks. They took each of us by the hand as if to make sure we didn't escape. JJ looked up at me and said, "Egan said we needed to make sure you made it downstairs."

I laughed and said, "He did, did he?"

JJ nodded his head. We entered the kitchen to find the children were ready, including Egan. Egan grinned when he saw us. "I told the twins to make sure to hold your hands until you made it back downstairs."

Rick ruffled Egan's hair. "I bet you think you're pretty smart."

Egan nodded his head, grinning broadly. "I am pretty smart. I also listened to Dad. He says that you two get distracted very easily."

I looked over at Rick and laughed. "It seems we have quite a reputation."

Rick looked gravely at Egan and said, "I think we need to speak to your father, Egan."

Egan laughed and said, "Go right ahead. Mom agreed with him."

Kerry walked into the kitchen at that moment and asked, "What did I agree with?"

"You agreed with Dad when he said that Uncle Rick and Uncle Glenn are easily distracted," Egan explained to his mother.

Kerry laughed and said, "I remember now, and I did agree with your Dad." She looked over at us and said, "You two are so much in love with each other that you forget that the rest of us are around."

I reached over and took Rick's hand in mine, "That's true."

Samantha pulled on my arm and asked, "May we go now?"

"Sure, Sammy," Rick said.

Kerry said, "I'll send the rest of the guys out as soon they show up in the kitchen."

We gathered up the rest of the children, and followed them out onto the beach. We set up our chairs, towels and beach umbrella. Rick said, "Alright troops, line up for sunscreen!" We sprayed on the sunscreen and they took off to play in the waves. Rick and I stripped off our board shorts and joined the kids playing in the surf.

They guys joined us a short while later. Keith and Jason wore board shorts while my uncles work matching bright white bikinis that showed off their well-built bodies.

Jason laughed and said, "I sure can tell who the gay guys are."

Keith said, "Line up guys; I want to get a photograph. Rick and Glenn stand in the center with our uncles on either side." Uncle Corey wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close, with his husband on the other side. Uncle Bob did the same to Rick. Keith snapped his photographs. Keith handed me his camera. "Now take a photo of me and Jason."

I handed the camera back to Keith, who took photographs of the children and their sand castles. We played games in the surf and pretty much wore ourselves out! After a while, we joined JJ and Josh on the sand to help them build sand castles. It was almost noon when the older children joined us. Kyle carried a picnic basket and sat it down by our towels.

"Grandma sent lunch for you guys," he said.

"Thanks for bringing it to us," Rick said. "The sunscreen is in the beach bag."

The teenagers helped each other with the sunscreen. They chased each other into the surf; except David who joined us on the sand.

"Are you ready to build a new sand castle?" he asked the twins.

JJ said, "Yes. You promised to show us how to build a pyramid."

David said, "Okay, this is what we need to do." He outlined the plan. We spent the next couple of hours building a huge pyramid, complete with a moat around the perimeter.

The other teenagers joined us as we finished the sand castle. Purev said, "That's a cool sand castle."

JJ said, "David designed it, but we built it."

"Well, you all did a great job," Purev said, taking a seat on the sand next to David.

Ashley said, "I'm getting hungry."

Her statement set off a chorus of "me too's" from the rest of the crew. Rick said, "Okay, let's go back to the house and get cleaned up for dinner, since we've been on the beach nearly all day."

We packed up our gear and followed the kids back to the house. We took turns washing the sand off of our feet in the outdoor shower before going inside.

Grandma said, "We're going out for dinner guys, so dress appropriately, please."

We had a nice dinner with the family. Later, we played games and visited with each other. We retired early since we had to be up at first light to make it to the airport for our flight to Toronto.

Rick had forgotten his cell phone on the dresser in our room. As we got ready for bed, he picked it up and checked the missed calls. He was surprised to see his sister's number listed in missed calls. Apparently, she had left a message, so he dialed voice mail. He listened to the message several times before hanging up.

I walked into the bedroom from the en suite and saw Rick's shocked expression. "What's the matter Rick?"

Rick looked at me and said, "Julie left me a message asking me to call her. She said she has a message from my Mother."

I looked at my watch and said, "It's too late to call tonight. We'll have to call tomorrow morning from the airport."

Rick nodded his head. "I wonder what Mom wants to say to me that she hasn't already said."

"Maybe she has had a change of heart," I said, trying to reassure my husband.

Rick shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know."

"Come to bed, Babe. We can worry about your mother in the morning. Right now you're tired and need to get some sleep."

Rick obeyed his husband and climbed into bed. However, he lay awake long after he knew Glenn had fallen asleep, thinking about Julie's message.
