The Kingswood Complication

Chapter 21

Tuesday 3 January 2023

"Thanks Mr Wilson!" Jazz said happily as Rob's father finished unloading his luggage from the car.

"Yeah, thank you, Trevor!" Luke added with a slight nod. As Rob and Jazz looked round in surprise and Mr Wilson just raised an eyebrow, the elder teen blushed, chuckled and said, "Yeah, took a shot on that one. Totally didn't land. Kinda regretting it now!"

"Indeed. I'll see you next time, Luke!" Rob's dad said with a bemused headshake.

"Yes Mr Wilson," Luke said with an awkward chuckle.

"Thanks dad," Rob said with a smirk as he approached his father, then added quietly, "And not just for the ride, but..." He paused to glance at his two boyfriends, who had been allowed to come and stay with them after Rob and his family had spent Christmas at Kingswood. "For everything. I really appreciate it!" he finished gratefully.

"You're welcome," Mr Wilson smiled, "And you give Josh my best, and a hug from your mum!" He frowned briefly and added, "Fuck it. Hugs from me too!"

Rob laughed at the gesture as he let his dad hug him before getting back into the car, then waved him off as he pulled away.

"Trevor?" Jazz said, shaking his head at Luke, "What were you thinking?"

"Hey, I'm seventeen now," Luke said defensively as the three of them started towards the Home Building. "That's basically an adult, I thought I should... address him like one!" he reasoned.

"And that's what happens when you think," Jazz said, pursing his lips as he shook his head again. "We've told you, dear, you're here to look pretty and stick your penis in various places, not for thinking!"

"I'll stick my penis in YOUR place!" Luke growled.

"That's the least threatening threat anyone ever threatened!" Rob sniggered.

"I know. Aren't threats meant to make you want to NOT do something. That actually sounds fun!" Jazz agreed.

The three teens continued chattering away as they continued down the path, tossing the occasional greeting to other boys they passed on the way as the student population began to slowly return. As they passed up the front steps and through the main entrance, Rob grinned as he saw Mark standing in the middle of the atrium.

"Rob, I have... really bad news about Josh!" Mark said, looking painfully serious.

"What?" Rob exclaimed as he dropped his bag. Marching towards Mark he demanded, "Fuck! What? What is it? What happened? Where's Josh?"

"I'm really sorry, but... but Josh is..." Mark started, choking up a little and he raised his hand to his mouth.

"Mark!" Rob exclaimed, wide-eyed with absolute terror.

"Josh is..." Mark started, then smirked a little as he said, "Absolutely fine and just as annoying as ever!"

"HA! GOTCHA!" Josh yelped out as he appeared from behind the stairs.

Josh, Mark, Luke and Jazz all burst into absolute hysterics as Rob almost doubled over from the emotional switcheroo. Receiving playful pokes from Josh who charged at him, Rob scowled as he stood up and said angrily at Josh, "I hate you so much!" As Josh continued to laugh and look unbothered by the comment, Rob turned his gaze to Mark and said, "Now he's got YOU helping him be an annoying little prick!?"

"In my defence," Mark said, still trying to hold back a smirk, "I've been stuck with him for five days and he is VERY persistent!"

"True, I'd probably play along just to get him to shut the fuck up!" Rob said with a sly grin.

"Rude!" Josh grumbled as he turned to storm away dramatically. As soon as he turned, he heard raucous laughter from behind him.

"Oh my god, who did that?" Luke called out, pointing at Josh.

There was a sudden sound of laughter from the first-floor walkway above them. Bobby Morgan, a Year 7 boy who had also stayed at Kingswood over Christmas laughed as Josh glared up at him. Josh, who remained bald through a mixture of chemotherapy side effects and manual shaving, had a silly face drawn on the back of his head. "I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!" Josh shouted up at him. "What did he draw this time?" Josh asked as he span round.

"Oh my god, did he just try to look at the back of his own head?" Rob snorted with laughter, "The fuckin' idiot!"

"I think it's cute!" Jazz giggled as Josh continued turning.

"The sad part is, it's not even the first time he's tried to do it!" Mark said, shaking his head. "Seeing who could draw the best thing on Josh' head while he napped was a new game we made up!" he explained to Rob, Luke and Jazz, while Josh continued turning in circles to try to see what was on his head.

Josh suddenly stopped, wincing as he staggered a little. "Now I feel dizzy," he pouted.

Rob laughed but stepped forward to pull Josh into a hug and whispered to him, "I've missed you, you fuckin' moron!"

"Rude but fair," Josh whispered back, holding onto Rob's arm to steady himself as they started up the stairs.

"So have I missed anything exciting?" Rob asked casually, the other three walking along behind them. It felt like a strange question to ask. Considering their time together over Christmas had been interrupted by Josh and Mark being briefly held hostage by Josh's eldest biological brother, Mark (now calling himself Tate), `exciting' really was a fairly subjective term.

"Umm, well it turns out my other brother, Ryan, kinda killed himself on Christmas Day which is what set Tate on his whole, like... rampage. Although he can't really answer for what he did yet as he's still unconscious, which is a really bad sign or a really good sign, depending on how you look at it. Plus now I gotta decide whether or not I wanna go to Ryan's funeral!" Josh explained with rather shocking casualness.

Rob stopped dead in his tracks, trying to comprehend the sudden info dump. "Umm... what!?" he grunted, slightly bewildered.

Behind them, Jazz and Luke both gave Mark a questioning look and got a nod in response.

"It's really not that big a deal!" Josh insisted with a shrug.

"It... sounds like a pretty big deal," Rob said, alarmed as much by Josh's calm reaction as the news itself.

"Ugh," Josh huffed as he took a step onto the stair above Rob and turned to face him and the others. "Look, it was a shock and all, but I ditched those two cunts years back and, biological relations or not, I don't care about them. Ryan's gone, oh well. Mark... fuck, I keep getting that wrong, Tate! Tate's a freakin' psychopath and the only time he's getting out of a hospital bed will be the day they put him in prison where he belongs. It sounds big and... and horrible... but seriously, I'm good. I'm focusing on my chemo plan and getting back into doing classes and having an actual life with my mates. I'm following Mark's lead and talking to actual professionals about all this shit and if I need to do anything else to get over it, I will, but for now... chill, seriously... I'm good!"

"Umm, I don't care about your issues, I just wanna get up the stairs!" a Year 13 boy said from behind Jazz and Luke.

The five boys quickly offered apologies and moved aside.

As the older boy reached Josh, he leaned in close and said, "Hey, I was just being funny. I do care! Look after yourself, bud!" It got a grin and a grateful giggle back from Josh. "You got this!" he added before walking away.

"He's right, I do!" Josh insisted, still smiling at the older boy's encouragement.

"Well, if you say you're fine then... you're fine," Rob said, cautious but happy to take Josh at his word, "I guess... welcome to a new term at Kingswood then!" It got a laugh from the others as they continued up the stairs.

As Nicky locked his wrist in place, he took a deep breath to compose himself. For most of the first term, Nicky had allowed himself to be kept locked in chastity, getting released just once a week to be teased and edged, with only a couple of orgasms in the entire period to break the torment. It had all been done at the hands of `Locky', a nickname Nicky had given to the person holding his keys.

Nicky had never seen Locky's face. He had no idea who he was, or even what Year he was in (although he was obviously Year 9 or older for the fact that he had access to the Kingswood Underground). Nicky had been restrained and blindfolded every time they met. Though Nicky could talk to Locky during their sessions, Locky never spoke back, communicating only through unspoken signals they had developed, and notes left for Nicky to read.

Shortly before Christmas, Locky had announced he would be freeing Nicky from chastity, but had also stated that he didn't want that to signal the end of their arrangement. He had asked Nicky to meet him when they returned from the Christmas break, so here he was, willingly restrained with timer locks, and blindfolded as he waited for `Locky' to arrive.

The one thing that was slightly different now was Mikey! He had announced at the end of last term that he knew Locky's identity. Despite the obvious temptation, Nicky had asked Mikey not to tell him. Aside from enjoying the mystery of it, Nicky had found himself developing potential feelings for Locky. He knew it was probably just lust enhanced by the excitement of the mystery rather than anything real, but considering it was the first romantic attraction he had really felt since breaking up with Chris and Mikey in Year 8, he wanted to just enjoy it while he could.

"Hi!" Nicky called out as he heard someone come in.

A few moments later, Nicky felt a hand on his stomach, which quickly stroked up his torso, over his chest and up to stroke a finger on his cheek – the usual `hello' from Locky.

"Did you have a good Christmas and New Year?" Nicky asked, feeling a warming sensation of closeness as the hand rested gently on his shoulder.

Locky tweaked the nipple they used to signal `yes', followed by a tweak of both nipples, which was used to imply curiosity.

Nicky took it to be a reciprocation of his own question and said, "It was busy and hectic and there was drama of course, but overall it was great!" He paused for a moment as he felt the hand caress him gently, something he usually took to suggest happiness. "Did you miss me?" he asked, then winced a little at the desperateness it might have conveyed.

Locky signalled a very quick `yes'.

Nicky smiled contentedly and said, "Missed you too. So... what's the plan?" He immediately felt the hand grasp at his dick, which had chubbed up slightly without him even realising. Nicky gave a slight chuckle and said, "Well yeah, I guessed that. I just meant... umm... not being locked anymore, did you... have anything specific planned? I mean... I'm happy to... to do stuff to you too, like... suck you or whatever, or... y'know, hand stuff if you don't mind freeing one of them!"

The hand pulled away completely.

"Sorry, was that... wrong? Should I just shut up and... and let you do things?" Nicky asked anxiously. He felt both nipples get touched. Frowning a little, he asked, "Is that... you saying you don't know?"

Another yes.

Nicky nodded gently for a moment and said, "Okay, that's fine. Well, today just... do what you wanna do and we'll... take other days as they come. I'm okay with that if you are!"

One more yes.

Content to let his mystery lover do his thing, Nicky let out a gentle sigh as he relaxed. It still seemed strange that he was even able to relax while restrained. Allowing someone else that level of control would have been impossible when he was younger, but he trusted Locky. Whether that trust was earned or simply a necessity of their arrangement Nicky really wasn't sure, but as he felt a mouth clasp around his stiffening prick, he didn't really care either. "Ugh, that's good," he sighed dreamily.

As well as concealing Locky's identity, the blindfold Nicky wore always had the added effect of warping his sense of time, especially when subjected to edging. Some days he had lost most of an hour in what only felt like minutes, while other times mere seconds of teasing felt torturously long. Today fell somewhere in the middle, relaxing and enjoyable to the point of obliviousness. By the time Nicky felt himself close to cumming, he had literally no idea how long they had been at it.

"I'm gonna cum soon," Nicky sighed contentedly. No sooner had he said it, he felt a streak of warm wetness across his body, though it had not come from his own cock. Hearing a slight panting, he realised Locky had shot a load over him. "Ah, you're... having fun then!" Nicky said slightly breathlessly, still on the brink of release. "Good to know you... actually like me too!" he added with a chuckle.

The hand immediately pulled away.

Nicky winced a little, unsure whether this was just intentional edging or if he had said something wrong. As he heard hurried footsteps across the room, followed by the door opening and closing, he let out a sigh. "Well fuck," he grumbled. Just a few seconds later, he heard the click of the timer locks releasing. `Did I scare him off or was it just cos time was up?' he thought to himself curiously as he reached up to pull off his blindfold.

Unsure exactly what had happened, Nicky glanced down at the streak of spunk across his body. He poked it curiously, as if contact with the other boy's cum might somehow give him an answer. It only gave him a wet finger and a reminder he hadn't cum himself yet. Grasping hold of his still-rigid dick, he masturbated for a few moments before spraying himself with his own load.

As he got up and cleaned off, he glanced at the door. Perhaps it was finally time to find out who he was. The only question that remained was how he would do it. He could ask Mikey, who he expected was back by now, but was that cheating? Was it breaking Locky's trust? Would it sour things to just confront him with it? Or he could straight-up ask him next time they met... whenever that was.

Reaching for his clothes, he found a note that just stated a date and time for their next session. As he finished dressing, he slipped it into his pocket as he left, deliberating his next move.

The realisation that the car in front belonged to the Davies family had Chris almost kicking the door off its hinges in his eagerness to get out as the car pulled up into the school's car park. By the time he got out, Danny was already approaching the car. The two boys kissed unashamedly as they reached each other, just a quick but passionate peck followed by a long hug.

"I missed you!" Chris groaned as he seemingly tried to squeeze the life out of his boyfriend.

"I missed you... oh!" Danny said, his sentence diverting midway through as he realised who was in the driver's seat of the car Chris had just climbed out of.

"Oh?" Chris enquired, frowning as he pulled out of the hug. He followed Danny's gaze and nodded knowingly as he said, "Oh, yeah, Finn insisted on bringing me. I reckon he just wanted to show off having his driver's licence!"

That in itself seemed strange to Danny. When he first met Finn (in person) he had only just been fifteen and it didn't even feel that long ago. The main thing that elicited the reaction was what had happened over Christmas. Danny had technically been `working' on his issues for a while now, but had yet to actually open up to anyone about what they were... until Finn finally convinced him to. He had told Chris' big brother everything and since then, he had encouraged Danny multiple times to share with Chris too. Showing up at Kingswood was undoubtedly related. "Hi Finn," Danny said a little timidly as the older teen got out of the car.

"Hey Danny," Finn said, smiling back before he looked to Danny's dad and added, "Hey Mr Davies. Nice to see you again!"

"It's so weird when he's cheerful," Chris said, shaking his head. "I wonder if Molly'd be okay with you going back into your emo phase!" he teased his brother.

"Yeah, shut up, you!" Finn said, shaking his head back at Chris. "Now go grab your stuff out. I may be your chauffeur but I'm not your butler!" he joked.

"That's funny because they actually have a butler!" Danny said loudly to his dad, getting a chuckle from the man.

"Yeah, well they might but we don't, so you get unloading too, small fry!" Mr Davies said, giving Danny a gentle shove.

The two boys unloaded their bags from their respective cars while Finn and Mr Davies chatted quietly.

"Umm, did... did Finn... say anything?" Danny asked cautiously as he glanced over at Chris.

"No. He hasn't spoken a single word since we went home. It's so freaky. Absolute silence!" Chris replied, smirking sarcastically.

Danny's eyes narrowed as he said moodily, "You've spent too much time around Nicky!"

Chris sniggered at the comment then closed the back of the car and moved over to Danny, slipping his arms around him as he asked, "I don't really know what you're asking about, but... he hasn't said anything... unusual. Wanna give me a bit more to go on?"

Danny sighed and pouted. He knew he should do what Finn suggested and talk to Chris, but... it was hard.

"I've gotta go have a chat with Max," Mr Davies suddenly interrupted as he approached the two teens. "Mr Rudd!" he clarified, unsure if the boys knew their Floor Master by his first name. He looked to his son and said, "I'm guessing you'll be off with your mates by the time I'm done so lemme say goodbye now!"

"Oh, okay, if you insist!" Chris interjected playfully, then grabbed Danny's dad in a hug as he joked, "But you should probably say goodbye to Danny too!"

Mr Davies laughed at the gesture and gave Chris a quick squeeze before mussing his hair and turning to Danny. "Come on. Give your old man a hug," he said. He glanced to Chris and added, "And I don't mean you again!"

Danny joined in with the others laughing at the exchange as he gave his dad a goodbye hug before watching him head off to find Mr Rudd.

"How about you? You heading off?" Chris asked his elder sibling.

"Actually, I thought I might hang about here for a while," Finn replied. He turned his gaze on Danny and continued, "I thought you two might want to... talk?" He raised his eyebrows, silently urging Danny on once again.

"Talk? About what?" Chris asked curiously, his attention flitting back and forth between Danny and Finn several times.

Danny took a deep breath, sighed heartily and nodded. "Yeah, okay," he agreed. "Come here," he said as he held his hand out to Chris. As he took hold of it, rather than heading towards the main buildings that made up the school, he led Chris towards the large thicket of trees that lined one side of the car park, separating it from the Sports Complex beyond. "Is this okay?" Danny whispered gently as he started guiding Chris through.

Chris had developed anxiety issues about the woodlands surrounding the school after their shared accident in Year 8 and while he had made great strides in tackling it, Danny was still mindful of it. "Yeah, no problem," Chris nodded, knowing this smaller wooded area was much safer than the sprawling forest around the school grounds. "What's up?" he asked as they reached the clearing in the centre.

Danny remained silent as he continued guiding Chris. There were several large logs used as seating positioned around a central area that occasionally housed a campfire. Danny straddled one of them and gestured for Chris to do the same so they sat facing each other.

"Danny?" Chris asked, cocking his head with visible concern.

"Look," Danny started with a sigh, "I... I just... this is... kinda hard!" He let out a groan as Chris just watched on in silence. He knew his boyfriend was taking it seriously by the fact he had just said `it's hard' and not got any kind of joke back. "You know I've been, umm... a bit up and down recently," he finally managed, then added a gentle, "But mostly down!"

"Yeah," Chris said with a slight nod.

"I've been trying to... to deal with it and you know I've been seeing Doc Arkwright, but... I dunno, I guess I haven't made much progress because I haven't really... gone into what's really been bothering me and I... I wanna tell you!"

"Okay," Chris said, still nodding.

"The... the problem is... with stuff like this..." Danny said, getting a little tearful, "Sometimes when you tell people stuff like this it can... it can change the way they look at you or what they think of you and... I... I don't..." Danny trailed off as he fought desperately to avoid fully bursting into tears.

Chris shuffled forward and pulled Danny into a hug as he whispered, "Nothing's gonna change how much I love you, Danny. Ever! You can talk to me about anything!"

Danny gripped on tightly for several seconds, composing himself as he felt the warming comfort of a hug from his favourite person in the world.

As Danny began to let go, Chris shuffled back and gave a meek smile as he said, "Just tell me everything you wanna tell me, okay. All of it. No judgment, just love!"

"It's a lot!" Danny sniffled.

"I've got literally all day!" Chris said with a gentle chuckle.

Danny stared into Chris' eyes. He could lose himself in them all day. He took a breath and started, "Okay, well... umm... this isn't in, like, any particular order and I may ramble a bit or... or repeat myself or sound a bit crazy, or..."

"Danny, just talk, okay!" Chris interjected.

Danny nodded, gulped and took another deep breath. "I guess for me the biggest thing that's been bothering me is... everyone! Or rather, the stuff they say to me... or about me. It's like everything I do they need to have an opinion on, and that opinion always seems to be Danny's a slut'. It doesn't even matter if it's me they're talking about. If anything even remotely related to sex comes up, there's a Danny joke in there. Y'see, they're always saying, like, Slut isn't an insult at Kingswood' but... they say it like it is and it's just... all the time, non-stop and I don't know why it bothers me so much because most of the time it's funny! So, like, how am I meant to argue and say they're being mean when it's just... just one little comment here or there or a funny joke. Like, how pathetic would I look if I sat there and started going, like, `you can't say funny things about me cos I'll cry', that's just... it's stupid!" He paused, shaking his head at the entire thing.

"S'okay, keep going!" Chris urged him.

"And it's not even just about me anymore," Danny said with a slight sniffle, "As soon as I knew we were getting together, my first thought wasn't, OMG yes, I finally get to be with Chris' or I love him so much' or This makes me so happy', it was... What are people gonna say about this?' I knew they'd... they'd have bitchy things to say and accuse me of... of breaking Brian's heart or breaking you and Mark up like I did with you and Kyle. I didn't get to be happy about it because I was just scared of what people would say about it. That was why I didn't wanna tell people about it when we got back from summer holiday. And then I started worrying that they wouldn't just say stuff to me anymore. I started thinking they were gonna say stuff to you too and start slagging you off and then you'd end up feeling the way I do and I couldn't stand the thought of that cos all I ever want is for you to be happy and I don't wanna let them take that away from you!"

"Danny," Chris said softly, reaching out to stroke Danny's hand.

"And then there's Joseph and Brian. Like, Brian's putting on a brave face but I know breaking up with me nearly killed him and seeing me with you has gotta be eating him up. But the stupid thing is, I know he's just as into Joseph and Joseph is into him, but... but they've got less than a year left together and I keep thinking, like... what if I HADN'T dated Brian? Would they have got together? Have I... have I made Brian miss out on what I have with you just cos of being with me?" Danny continued, unable to stop now he was on a roll.

Chris continued nodding along silently.

"And then I keep thinking about all the other places I've stuck my nose in and ended up making things worse. Like... like the Mark and Gregory thing. I knew about the issues WAY before the really blew up and I kept trying to `help' but what if my help was just making it worse and mark ended up getting hurt and suspended because I did the wrong thing! Cos I seem to just get caught up in everyone's issues cos they think I'm so fucking great at helping but I'm not, I'm crap, I just... I just make everything worse for everyone all the time, like Josh..." Danny stopped himself. It was the one issue on his mind he hadn't even expressed to Finn when they spoke, the single little nugget of misery he had never before even put into words.

"Danny," Chris urged gently. He grasped the other teen's hand tightly and asked, "What about Josh?"

"I can't!" Danny whispered, shaking his head, not even able to look Chris in the eye.

"Please, Danny. You can!" Chris pleaded.

"What if I got it wrong?" Danny asked, his jaw quivering as he finally looked back into Chris' beautiful emerald eyes. "When I... helped him! When I... I... up on the roof! Chris, he's got cancer! And I know! I know it's in remission and it's... we're being all... all positive, but... he's still got such a long way to go and he could still just... just DIE at any time. Like, all it takes is a little infection and he's gone, but even if he's not, the pain he's in... the pain and the sickness from the chemo that he had to go through over and over. What if he's going through all that and he doesn't make it and... and then... then all I really did by stopping him from jumping was set him up to die in a fucking horrible way!"

"Fuck. Danny. No!" Chris said, shaking his head as he shuffled forward again to hold Danny as he began to cry.

"I know. I know!" Danny sniffled as he gripped on tightly. "I know I did the right thing, but... that's where my mind keeps going and then I feel bad for thinking it cos it's like I'm wishing him dead so I'm just a... a horrible person. Everything's just... shit and the only good thing in my life is you and I'm probably just gonna mess that up too!" He finally broke down into helpless sobs.

Chris sat holding Danny as he cried, barely holding back tears of his own. When Danny calmed a little, he carried on talking, finally sharing with his best friend the feelings that had been plaguing him – worthlessness, inadequacy, hopelessness. Once he started it was hard to stop until every issue was laid out between them. Chris had done his best to comfort Danny, though just his mere presence seemed to help with that a lot.

By the time they decided to head back, both boys had shed a few more tears while they had formed a plan together. Danny was going to open up more about the issues to the people who really needed to hear about them – Dr Arkwright and Mr Rudd. As supportive as Chris was, he knew this was too big for him and Danny agreed. Walking back through the trees towards the car park, both boys were emotionally raw, but felt good for having aired the issues.

Finn spotted Chris and Danny emerge from the treeline, put down his phone and climbed out of the car. He didn't say anything, he didn't need to. The same went for the two younger teens. Finn simply held out his arms to hug both boys.

"What up, bitches!" Gray called out as he casually strolled into the Year 10 Common Room. He passed round giving a few greetings to some of the others, chatting briefly with Andy and JR from his own dorm before moving on to the pool table where Rob was currently playing Danny with a few others spectating. "Ladies," he added with a chuckle as he approached the group.

It earned a round of amused and bemused greetings back, except from Danny who was focused on making his next shot.

"Nicholas, I'm offended!" Gray said, shaking his head at Nicky who had deliberately hung back from the other boy's approach.

"What did he do?" Josh asked eagerly, hoping for some gossip.

"All this time I've been back and my stalker hasn't stalked me yet. I'm putting it in your end-of-year review! You'll be lucky to stalk anyone above a Year 7 by the time I'm done with you!" Gray teased.

Josh tutted and rolled his eyes as he said, "Oh, boring."

"Trying to concentrate here!" Danny complained.

"It won't help!" Rob taunted.

Ignoring the pool table trash talk, Nicky smirked at Josh and said, "Hey, at least he entertains himself," then gave Gray brief side-eye as he added, "Anyway, looks like you're the one stalking ME."

"Yeah, you wish, stalker!" Gray argued back.

"Ugh, get a room!" Mark said, nudging Gray playfully.

"Hey, what happened to us new guys sticking together? We made a deal. Sealed it with blood!" Gray insisted.

"Literally never even spoke about anything like that," Mark said, shaking his head at Gray's usual silliness.

"Oh my god, will you all shut up!" Danny grumbled, still trying to line up the perfect shot.

"Sorry," Gray apologised as they all went quiet. As Danny continued aiming, Gray crept along behind him. Everyone else could see exactly what was coming but remained silent. Just as Danny was taking the shot, Gray leaned in and yelped, "DON'T MISS!"

Danny jumped and launched the cue ball clear off the table.

Rob deftly caught the ball, smirked and said, "Pretty sure that counts as a foul!"

Danny turned to glare at Gray and growled, "You're gonna suffer at the next footy practice!"

"I'm aware and it was worth it!" Gray said with a broad grin.

"Dick," Danny said, shaking his head as he smirked. Despite the show of annoyance, he had always found Gray's antics highly amusing, though he couldn't help noticing the concerned frown he was getting from Chris.

Gray shrugged off the insult then looked to Nicky and said, "Anyway, stalker-boy, you free? I got some seriously cool new camera equipment for Christmas and I need someone who actually appreciates it to show it off to! Andy and JR just don't get it!"

Nicky's face lit up at the invitation, quickly following Gray out before any of the others could tease them for nerding out.

"Everyone doing okay?" Gray asked, gesturing back towards the group as they headed for the exit. Nicky and Gray had remained in frequent contact over the Christmas break and Nicky had told him all about the incident with Josh's brother.

Nicky smiled briefly to himself. Usually calling someone two-faced was an insult, but in Gray's case it was rather apt. Put him in a group and he was all cocky and obnoxious and loud, but as soon as it was just the two of them, that all dropped away and he showed his more considerate side. "Yeah, I think so," Nicky replied with a thoughtful nod. "Josh has some other bits going on and him and Mark are getting therapy and stuff, but in our dorm, `therapy' may as well be a GCSE subject!"

Gray snorted with laughter but immediately said, "Leave it!" as he saw Nicky go to tease the noise. "That was funny though. You guys do seem to attract trouble!" Gray observed, "I think the biggest drama we got in our group was Kayden's mum getting caught getting off with Kayden's dad's sister, but we reckon he's probably making it up to try and sound interesting!"

"Of course, the old `lesbian mum' lie to try and look interesting. We've all been there! Oldest trick in the book!" Nicky said sarcastically.

"I know right," Gray sniggered. "I didn't see Mikey in there. How's he doing? You didn't say much but I got a feeling..." He trailed off slightly, then shrugged and said, "Well I just got a feeling! How's he doing?"

Nicky felt a fluttering in his stomach. He had fully expected to have Gray ask about the big, obvious things that he had explicitly shared. Having him pick up on the things Nicky HADN'T said was... pleasantly surprising. Sadly, the happy flutter quickly fell away as he sighed and said, "No, he's not back yet. I haven't actually spoken to him since last Wednesday. I think is probably the longest we've ever gone without talking since, like... Covid lockdown!"

"D'ya think something's wrong?" Gray asked as they came to a stop in the living area outside dorms 2.03 and 2.04.

"No," Nicky said confidently, shaking his head. "I... I can't really go into it, cos... like... it's personal but... I think not hearing from him might be a good thing. At least, that's what I'm telling myself!" he reasoned.

Gray let out a gentle sigh. "I really love how close you guys are!" he said wistfully. He glanced to his own dorm and the one next to it, leaning over to make sure nobody was inside as he said, "Don't get me wrong, the guys here are great and I love it here, but... you guys always just seem so... ugh, I dunno!"

"We are!" Nicky said proudly. "That's how we get through all the trouble we attract!" he said, only half joking.

Gray smiled and nodded, then headed into his dorm to get the camera equipment he wanted to show off.

"You know they like you too, right?" Nicky called into the room. "Like... I know we all stick together a lot, but... we're always happy to take strays! Jazz, Adrian, Kyle, Harley... you! Everyone's welcome, especially if they're willing to let Chris hug them!"

"I'll keep that in mind," Gray laughed as he walked back in.

"Remind me to thank Gray for this!" Rob said as he relaxed back, his hands behind his head and his dick in Danny's mouth. It was the `forfeit' Danny had earned following their game of pool.

Danny released his friend's penis and grumbled, "I still think this is unfair. I only lost because of outside interference!"

"Danny, you're sucking my dick!" Rob said matter-of-factly, "Are you really complaining that you lost?"

"Ohhhh, good point! Remind me to thank Gray for this!" Danny said with a smirk before lashing at the exposed head of Rob's cock with his tongue. He sucked it for a few moments then pulled off and looked up at Rob as he asked, "Wait, we just got back and you're getting off with me instead of Luke and Jazz? Everything okay?"

"All good," Rob said, pressing on Danny's head to make him continue sucking. "We got plenty of action while they were at my place. Besides, they're off fucking now and sometimes it's nice to let em do that with just the two of em!"

Danny pulled back again and said, "Wow, boyfriends fucking without you and you don't sound jealous. Mark spent the week with Josh and you don't resent him. I'm so proud. My little man's finally growing up!"

"Save the sarcasm and keep sucking, loser!" Rob said, trying to sound annoyed despite his grin.

"Charming," Danny said, shaking his head.

Rob tutted and rolled his eyes as he said, "Okay, fine, fine, don't suck, come up here!" He patted the space beside him. As Danny jumped up to sit beside him, he added, "And get Danny junior out!"

"Please don't name my penis. It's weird!" Danny said as he fished out his semi-hard cock.

"It's certainly weird... but I named it anyway!" Rob teased.

"Oh, funny!" Danny said as he reached out to take hold of Rob's dick, understanding the intention of the new position without Rob even needing to say it. As they started stroking each other, Danny said, "I was only half kidding before. It's actually... really nice to see you being a bit less..."

"... Of a cunt?" Rob suggested, getting a laugh and nod back from Danny for it. Rob nodded in return and said, "Yeah, I know I'm a bit difficult sometimes... Milo made sure I knew that... but, I'm working on it!"

Danny leaned over and wrapped himself around Rob, giving him a gentle nudge to indicate he should return the gesture.

"I'm good, I don't need a hug!" Rob laughed, slightly bemused.

"I know. It's for me, not you!" Danny said, giving a firm squeeze before pulling back to resume the mutual masturbation.

"Oh, okay. Any... reason?" Rob asked curiously.

Danny sighed gently and smiled as he replied, "Yeah, I did something today that was really hard and I'd been putting off for ages and I'm really proud of myself for doing it."

"Oh, sweet," Rob nodded agreeably. "Anything you wanna tell me about?" he asked airily.

Danny frowned thoughtfully again, then answered, "Yeah, but... not quite yet!"

"Fair deal!" Rob said, casually tugging away at Danny's dick.

"Oh!" Danny suddenly exclaimed as something hit him. "Actually there is... one thing I think... I probably SHOULD tell you about!"

"You let Milo fuck you when you were hammered at Christmas?" Rob said, raising his eyebrows as he saw Danny look terrified.

"You... you... know about that?" Danny gulped.

"Keep stroking," Rob instructed casually as Danny's hand stopped again, "I know about the drinking AND the sex with Milo, yeah!"

Danny was confused by the request to continue their shared wank as it suggested Rob was okay, but considering the problems Rob had been through with regard to knowledge of his little brother's sex life already, it was a little surprising. "You... you're... you're not... mad?" he stuttered.

Rob shrugged as he replied, "I'm not exactly thrilled but, well firstly I already learned I'm best staying out of Milo's sex life and secondly, my biggest concern with stuff he does is that he stays safe. Of all the people he could have sex with, you're probably one of the people I trust the most to keep him safe!"

Danny paused his hand again, staring at Rob a little choked.

"Oh my god, are you gonna cry?" Rob asked, shaking his head as he smirked.

"No!" Danny replied tearfully. "Maybe! It's been an emotional day!" he added shakily.

Rob laughed as he grabbed Danny in a hug for a moment and said, "Come on, chill. I imagine tears don't really make very good lubricant!"

"Wow, that's dark!" Danny exclaimed in shock.

"Yeah, took that one a bit far," Rob chuckled. "But chill, it's fine. Milo told me all about it and what he did with you and that he knew you were a bit drunk. I appreciate you wanting to tell me though!" he explained, "Now seriously, stop fucking talking and let's cum!"

"Stop Talking and Let's Cum – A Kingswood Tale. Should suggest that as a story title for Chris!" Danny sniggered as he nestled in beside Rob to continue stroking him.

"Oh my god, shut up!" Rob laughed. He nuzzled his head against Danny's as they continued masturbating.

After a few more minutes, they both started letting out sighs and groans that indicated they were approaching a climax. Hanging out didn't always involve sexual activity, but it happened often enough for them to know each other's bodies intimately well. They didn't even need to speak to synchronise their wanking, gradually moving towards a shared orgasm.

They both began to shoot in unison, Danny's shots flying up onto his chest while Rob's load mostly dribbled down over Danny's stroking fingers. As they came to a stop, Danny casually raised his hand and licked it clean. He barely noticed he was doing it and Rob was so used to it that he barely even gave it a second glance.

"Y'know, we need to do more of this!" Rob said with a nod.

"Wanking each other off after a pool game?" Danny enquired.

"No, just... doing stuff together. Having fun!" Rob stated, "Last term was... tough!"

"Understatement but go on!" Danny nodded as he put his dick away.

"I just think we're past all the heavy shit now and we can just, like... chill and relax and have a laugh!" Rob explained.

Danny didn't reply beyond a smile and a nod. `We're past all the heavy shit now!' Fuck, he hoped that was true!

Josh grinned as he walked into L3.4, the living area that connected dorms 3.13 to 3.16. He had received a shout of happy greetings as he walked in from the three teens hanging out there. While most of them weren't close friends of Josh, they knew him both through reputation but also his occasional visits to see James and Luke in 3.16 or Isaac and Alex in 3.15.

"If you're after Rob, we've not seen him," Joel Matthews offered unprompted, "And no idea where James is!"

Josh smiled and started, "Actually, I was here for..." He stopped as Alex peered round the doorway from dorm 3.15. "Him!" Josh said, hurrying over to the older boy, getting a couple of fist-bumps as he passed Tyler and Matt, Alex's neighbours.

"Hey you," Alex said, happily giving Josh a quick hug.

"Yo, baldy," Isaac said with a grin, seemingly in the middle of unpacking.

"Hi," Josh grinned to Alex, then scowled playfully at Isaac as he added, "And screw you!"

Looking at the expression on Josh' face that was slowly turning more serious, Alex took a deep breath and stated, "Isaac, get out!"

Isaac went to say something back, but as he saw the way Alex was looking at him, he just nodded gently and headed for the door, giving Josh a meek smile before shutting it behind him.

"Thanks," Josh said gratefully as he started pacing.

"I heard about what happened over Christmas!" Alex stated. It wasn't hard to figure out that a visit from Josh on the first day back after an incident involving one of his brothers had to be about that.

"Yeah," Josh said, taking a deep breath before exhaling slowly.

"Hey, come here," Alex said as he sat on the side of his bed and held out his arm. Josh nodded gently as he approached and sat beside him, leaning against Alex as the arm dropped around his shoulders.

In the years since the secret came out about the abuse Josh had endured, he had shared details of what he had been through with a few people. Most only got a small snippet of the horrors, while a rare few – Alex included – had been told almost everything. Alex had a particularly unique bond to the whole thing as he had been used by Josh's brothers to help abuse their little brother. Thankfully Alex had quickly realised how he was being manipulated and started helping Josh instead. He had also been mentored by Ryan, spending years with him as one of the most influential people in his life before it all fell apart.

"You wanna talk about what happened?" Alex asked cautiously.

Josh shook his head and said, "No, but there's probably not much to tell you don't already know. Tate turned up – that's what Mark's calling himself now – and started being all crazy, held me and Mark hostage and it ended with a fucking laptop wrapped round his head!" Josh shrugged at the brief summary.

Alex didn't say anything, but he did give Josh a slight squeeze instead.

"I actually... came to give you some news," Josh said, pursing his lips thoughtfully for a moment. "I wanted to tell you this myself, just... well, it just felt like I should."

"Okay," Alex said, nodding gently, "What's the news?"

Josh sighed again. He had fought hard to be allowed to be the one to talk to Alex, but now he was here he was having second thoughts that he knew were far too late. Taking another breath, he turned slightly to face Alex more and said, "It turns out Tate's whole thing was triggered by something that... happened on Christmas Day!" As Alex stared intently, Josh gulped a little and said, "It's Ryan. He killed himself!"

Alex remained motionless for a moment, then dropped his arm away from Josh as his gaze lowered to the ground, shaking his head a little.

"Alex?" Josh prompted nervously.

"Ryan's... gone?" Alex asked hauntedly.

"He is!" Josh nodded, "Are you okay?"

Alex held for a few more moments, then his brow furrowed as he nodded and looked back to Josh. "Yeah, I'm okay," he reassured him, "It's just... unexpected!"

"There isn't a funeral date yet, but dad..." Josh froze, realising his verbal slip. He thought he saw Alex smirk a little, but as he didn't say anything Josh assumed he had missed it, "Mr Rudd has asked me to think about whether I want to go or not and I... I didn't know if you wanted to go either!"

Alex nodded thoughtfully for a moment. "The last time I spoke to him was when he came here to see you," he said softly, getting a nod back from Josh. "D'you know the last thing I said to him?" he asked, cocking his head curiously.

"No, but I guess it wasn't nice!" Josh said gingerly.

"I told him if he ever came near you again I'd kill him myself," Alex explained. Shaking a little, he added, "And the scary part is... I meant it, like... literally!"

Josh smiled a little and said, "I don't think anyone's ever threatened murder for me before. I feel like I should be flattered!"

Alex laughed reluctantly as he shook his head and put his arm back around Josh. "You're so twisted," he chuckled. As Josh held back onto him, they cuddled together for just a moment before Alex said, "He was probably the most important person in my life at one point, but... that stopped the moment I saw the real Ryan! I kinda said my goodbye to him when he got arrested and taken away and... well I guess what I said when he came back, that's... I suppose you could consider that closure. There's nothing I'd get from going to his funeral that I haven't already got!"

Josh nodded as he replied, "I thought you'd say that, but... I wanted you to have the choice!"

"I appreciate that," Alex said with a smile, "But... if YOU decide to go and... you want someone with you who, like... really gets it, I'll go with you!"

"You'd do that?" Josh asked, wide-eyed.

Alex shrugged and said, "I just promised to kill for you. A day out's nothing compared to that!"

Josh smiled as he took a moment to process it, then grinned and said, "Does that killing only apply to former brothers or is it, like... transferable?"

"Oh my god," Alex laughed as he pulled Josh into a tight hug, "Shut up, you twisted little weirdo!"

"Ah, oh yeah, I'm close, I'm close, I'm close!" Axel gasped as David sat wanking him.

David chuckled a little at the boy's excitement. Two weeks without release, even if he couldn't actually cum yet, was not a fun experience. It was one he remembered well and hoped his mentee wouldn't have to endure for as long as he had.

"Ah, yeah, yeah, yessss!" Axel yelped as he crossed the point of no return and his diminutive cock began to throb and pulse in his mentor's grip. "Nooooo," he moaned as he saw there was still no sign of semen, "I really thought this time I'd be ready!"

"Sorry mister," David said sympathetically, "But chill, it's only been one term, it could still be ages!"

Axel stared at David in dismay. "Is that supposed to cheer me up?" he asked unhappily.

"No, it's just supposed to be honest!" David replied with a shrug. He flicked his head to toss the front of his hair, now dyed green, away from his eyes. "If I wanted to cheer you up I'd remind you that literally half of year seven is still locked and statistically you're very unlikely to be the last. Plus most guys tend to get unlocked either during their second term, or before the end of Year seven anyway!"

"That doesn't help now!" Axel pouted. "I wanna be free. I miss wanking!" he complained.

David suppressed a smile. He didn't want to appear condescending, even though his smile was at the comfort with which Axel spoke to him about such things. It was a sign of the trust they had developed. He couldn't resist a little teasing though as he asked, "Why, is there someone in particular you're wanting to wank WITH?"

"No!" Axel replied pointedly.

David nodded gently as he watched the boy getting himself dressed. "On that subject," he started cautiously, "Is there anyone you're... getting closer to? Just, like... friends, I mean!"

Axel shrugged. "Not really," he replied, then quickly added, "What I mean is, I'm equally close to, like... everyone in my dorm!"

"And how close IS that?" David probed. There wasn't any requirement or expectation for boys to get close to their dormmates, but being a whole term into his first year at the school, David was getting a little concerned that Axel seemed more like he had just classmates and acquaintances than actual friends.

"Close enough," Axel said evasively. "I have fun with all of them!" he added with a grin.

David didn't respond to the comment. Based on his own group of friends, David would have taken `fun' to mean activity of a sexual nature, but with Axel's dorm that seemed unlikely. David knew some of them were sexually active – reports of Milo's exploits were slowly working through the Kingswood grapevine – but as a whole, the Year 7 dorm certainly wasn't anywhere near as active as David's had been. David might have been tempted to take Axel's comment at face value were it not for a few moments he had witnessed in his time mentoring the boy. Careful not to jump to conclusions, he opted to simply seek more information as he asked, "What sort of fun?"

Axel shrugged and hummed evasively.

David's eyes narrowed suspiciously. He didn't voice his thoughts, but for now he was determined to keep a closer eye on his mentee.

As they headed out into the hallway, they were greeted by Harley Edwards, one of David's Year 10 classmates. "What up, cuz!" Axel said with a grin.

David smiled as the two cousins greeted each other. "I always forget you two are related!" David said with a slight shrug.

"I wish I could forget it too!" both Harley and Axel said in perfect unison, followed by, "Ha, jinx!"

"Oof, enough of that, the last thing I need is two of you being annoying in stereo!" David said, waving his hand dismissively, "I'll leave ya to it!"

"Actually, it was you I wanted to speak to!" Harley said, looking to David.

"Oh, charming," Axel pouted at his cousin. "Screw me, I guess!" he added with a bemused grin. Before Harley or David could say anything else, Axel spotted two of his dormmates – Devon and Jorge – coming up the stairs. "See ya," he said quickly to David then called out as he ran along, "Hey guys, you okay? I heard what Avery said about your Christmas stuff!"

David frowned as he watched the two younger boys immediately look incensed. Had it not been for Harley, he would have gone to investigate, but for now his classmate looked quite serious so he asked, "Whassup?"

"I was just wondering if you knew when Mikey was getting back. I haven't seen him yet!" Harley said with a slight pout.

Harley had become unexpected friends with Mikey during the Survival Club camping trip the previous year. Their friendship had continued even after they returned to Kingswood, and while the amount of time Mikey was devoting to Josh and his illness had come between them a little, they were still good friends.

"Umm, I was in there for a while with Axel," David said, gesturing to the room he had just left, "And he wasn't back when I went in."

"Oh, okay," Harley said, a little downhearted.

"Oh hey, there's Nicky!" David said as he saw his dormmate standing down in the atrium, "If anyone's gonna know, it's him!" He headed down the stairs with Harley, shooting Nicky a quick grin as they got close.

"Hey, when'd you get back?" Nicky asked, giving David a hug and Harley a friendly fist-bump.

"Not that long ago," David said shaking his head. "Axel collared me as soon as I got back. Post-break urgency, if ya know what I mean!" David said with a smirk.

"Yeah, kinda," Nicky smirked. He had not been locked in chastity back at the start of Year 7 like most of his peers, but had definitely experienced his share of chastity (and the urgency it could garner) since then.

"Eww!" Harley grumbled at the mention of Axel's sexual needs.

As Nicky frowned at the reaction, Danny stated quietly, "Cousins, remember!"

"Right. Yeah!" Nicky nodded. "So what's up? You looked like you were on a mission!" he asked thoughtfully.

"I was just wondering if you knew when Mikey was getting back," Harley explained.

"Oh!" Nicky said, nodding gently. "Actually, I just came from talking to Mr Rudd about that!"

David cocked his head curiously. He knew Mikey had been through some troubles over Christmas, moreso than usual, so his curiosity was thoroughly piqued. "About... what?" he asked curiously.

"Mikey's not coming back!" Nicky stated. As he saw Harley looking quite upset, he quickly added, "Today I mean. I'm not saying he's not coming back EVER!"

"Jesus, don't do that!" Harley grumbled.

"Sorry," Nicky smirked. Seeing David's look change from curious to worried, he elaborated, "He's not well, so he's staying home for a few more days but he'll be back soon!"

"Nothing serious I hope!" Harley stated.

Nicky shook his head, but David picked up on the slight wince that accompanied it.

"We'll let you know once we know when he'll be back," David offered to Harley.

"Thanks, appreciate it," Harley said gratefully. Sensing the other two wanted to talk, he bid them a quick farewell and headed back upstairs.

David nodded over to the stairs too, but rather than going up them, he ducked in behind them to take a seat on a concealed bench, one of his favourite spots for solitude. As Nicky sat beside him, he asked, "When you say sick, do you mean..."

"No, nothing serious like Josh!" Nicky quickly interjected, waving his hands defensively.

"Oh, I didn't mean that, but good to know," David chuckled. "I meant is it... related to why Mikey is the way that he is?"

Nicky frowned in slight confusion at the wording but caught on and eyed David suspiciously. "Whadda you know?" he asked accusingly.

"Nothing!" David insisted. "It's just... recently I've been noticing more and more things with him that don't add up. Well, no, that's not right. They DO add up, but... not to what they SHOULD add up to!"

"I... have literally NO idea what you're talking about," Nicky said, clearly lost by the cryptic talk.

David stroked his chin, thinking for a few moments before trying again. "Mikey's a weird one sometimes. He doesn't always act the way other people do and I've noticed some things that made me start to try and figure out why. Is it something to do with that?"

Nicky nodded, understanding a little more now. "Umm, yeah actually, I... I kinda guess it is!" he said in slight surprise. "Why, whadda you think it is?" he asked curiously.

David pursed his lips, thinking once again. "I don't wanna say," he answered with a gentle head bob. "If I'm right, it's Mikey's to share and if I'm wrong, that's not a thought I wanna put in your head. Not cos it's bad, just... well, I'm not a doctor. I'm in no position to make a diagnosis!"

"But you have!" Nicky said with a broad grin.

"Totally!" David laughed, "But I'm keeping it to myself!"

"Fair. Either way, Mikey'll be away a bit longer. We should go let the others know. I told Mr Rudd I'd pass it on!" Nicky said as he stood.

They started up the stairs and David happily slipped his arm through Nicky's, mostly because it looked slightly comical with their substantial height difference. "Funny, isn't it!" David stated as they started up the second flight of stairs.

"What, that you're one stair ahead of me and still way shorter?" Nicky teased as he hung back slightly, "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll have a growth spurt any year now!"

"Oh, you're hilarious," David said flatly. "What I meant was, here we are, you with your Matt stuff and me with my agoraphobia and we're two of the only ones in the dorm NOT in therapy!"

"Ha, that IS funny!" Nicky laughed. "Oh my god, we should totally make Mark a card. Welcome him to the therapy club!"

"Ha, therapy club. Now there's an extracurricular that'd get some use round here!" David joked.

"Totally!" Nicky agreed. "Actually, speaking of... horrific traumas, are you... okay after the stuff with Josh's brother?"

"Umm, fine, yeah," David said, a little confused about the concern. "Should I... not be?" he asked, tilting his head.

Nicky shook his head in response. "Well I just thought... when he flipped out and started, like... stabbing a bed like a freaking psychopath, that was... your bed, wasn't it?"

"It's not like I was in it!" David scoffed, but gripped tighter onto Nicky's arm as he added, "But... thank you for even thinking of that!"

Nicky shrugged and replied, "S'nothing. I just worry sometimes you might feel a bit... overlooked, and that's NOT a height joke!" He paused to chuckle along with David. "I just didn't want you to feel like we don't think about you!" he insisted.

"Aww, that's sweet," David replied. "I guess I kinda have thought that at times, but then... someone like you or Chris comes along and sets me straight! I know you guys care!" he said contentedly.

"Good!" Nicky nodded. "I know we got a lot going on still but, I dunno, I got a feeling this is gonna be a good term. Nothing but good stuff this term!"

David sighed and shook his head as they reached the dorm. "Y'know, if this was a TV show, a comment like that would be followed by something immediately going horribly wrong!" he said wryly.

"Good thing this isn't a TV show then!" Nicky said confidently, "But seriously. Best term ever!"
