THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF LUKE AND JAKE
Chapter 8
According to their parents, Rosy and Tim had been awake from the early hours of the following morning nagging them to be allowed to go downstairs to open their belated Christmas presents. Eventually, the adults could not resist any longer but on arrival in the living room, the children were disappointed to see only a few parcels waiting for them, one set each from Luke and Jake. The presents were of a baseball hat and a t-shirt which the teenagers had bought while visiting Washington. Although disappointed that the main Christmas gifts had not yet appeared, the youngsters quickly donned their latest acquisitions and made a beeline for the attic to thank Luke and Jake. Even earlier than the previous morning, the teenagers were awakened by the arrival of Rosy and Tim who happily jumped onto the bed and began worming their way under the covers. Once the young children had got settled, Tim said quietly to Luke and Jake,
`Thank you for the presents. I love the baseball hat and t-shirt.'
He leaned in and planted a very sloppy wet kiss on the cheek of both teenagers, and this was followed by an even wetter and sloppier one from Rosy, who added,
`I love my presents, too.'
The teenagers acknowledged the polite response from the children and allowed them to cuddle up close for a hug. The four lay quietly in the bed for a short while but, just as Jake was drifting back to sleep, he was awoken by Rosy wriggling away and demanding that her cousin accompany her back downstairs to see whether any more presents had arrived. Any thought that this might bring the older boys some relief was quickly dashed when Tim insisted that teenagers should come with them.
When Molly and Robert heard the commotion, they quickly went to help and found everyone gathered in the living room. Molly announced that presents would not be given out until after breakfast. The rest of the day was enjoyed by everyone. As usual, Molly had prepared a feast for the belated Christmas lunch which was devoured with relish. The children were delighted with the new toys that their grandparents had given them and spent some time playing with them, allowing the well-fed adults an opportunity to have a nap. The day finished in the early evening when Luke's older siblings decided it was time to set off for home because the children had school the following morning. Rosy and Tim protested that they wanted to stay longer but finally accepted that this would not be possible. Reluctantly the young children collected their belongings, old and new, and prepared to leave. On the drive, Rosy and Tim hugged Molly and Robert, then Jake and Luke and finally their respective aunt and uncle before getting into their family's car. Both Samantha and David made sure to invite the teenagers to come for a visit as well as reminding Molly and Robert that they were also expected to go for a stay soon.
After his older brother and sister and their family members had left, Luke told his mum that he and Jake would like to organise their move back into their room the following day, either before or after work. While the British teenager's shift pattern was firmly established, Jake's was not. This second week he had shifts at different times and on different days from the previous one and this seemed likely to be set as a pattern for the future. When the pair went to bed, the effects of the long day, the vast quantity of food they had eaten and the need to be up early the following morning led them to fall into bed quickly, cuddle closely and fall asleep within a few moments.
For reasons best known to the supermarket manager, Jake was working from ten until six on the Monday. He was, however, able to walk down to the leisure centre with Luke and still have time to get to the store in good time. When he arrived, he found that of his regular group only Peter was already there. The young man was alone his supermarket co-workers in that he had yet to spend any time with Jake and the American hoped that this would be remedied by this fortunate occurrence. However, as had happened before, Peter seemed to be preoccupied and offered only a nod of greeting and monosyllabic answers to anything that Jake said. Remembering the outburst that had been directed at Luke at the swimming club, Jake decided to confront his fellow worker,
`May I ask you a question, Peter? Do you have a problem with me being either an American or being gay?'
Peter looked startled for a moment and, although he answered in the negative, the hesitancy with which he said it suggested that his answer was havering at best and untruthful at worst. Jake decided to bring matters to a head and said,
`Okay, if that is not the case, I understand that there is a tradition that the newest member of the team takes his colleagues to the pub for a drink. How about tonight? We could have a quick one in the pub just up the road.'
Just as he finished speaking two of the others, Danny and Nick, walked in and one of them said,
`Did I hear mention of a drink after work?'
Jake nodded and said he was inviting all four of his fellow workers for a drink and received a near unanimous positive response to his offer. The only one hesitating was Peter who said quietly,
`I don't drink. I'm too young.'
Jake looked straight at him and said in response,
`I don't drink either but I'm sure you could join me and have a soda or something else non-alcoholic.'
Danny stepped in and settled the matter,
`Yeah, Jake's right. That's settled, we'll go for a pint or something in the local pub after work tonight. Great idea, mate!'
At the end of the shift, Jake and his co-workers walked to the pub and found a quiet corner table where they chatted together with the American answering more questions about his life both before and after coming to the UK. During this time Jake noticed that of the group Peter was the least keen to join in the questioning. When the youngster went to the loo, Jake asked the others,
`Is Peter okay? He's very quiet and I get the impression he doesn't like me very much.'
Nick leaned forward and replied,
`He's a bit introverted but also you need to know that he is the son of our boss, Mr MacPherson, which sometimes puts him and us in an awkward position.'
Jake acknowledged the explanation but did not believe that fully answered his concerns. However, he accepted the offer of another round of drinks in the hope of getting an opportunity to probe further into Peter's issues. Jake also had a second reason for staying which became obvious when the door opened, and Luke walked in. Grinning at his boyfriend, the British teenager walked forward and embraced him and brought a gasp of recognition from the rest of the group. Danny looked at Jake quizzically and exclaimed in surprise,
`This is your boyfriend?'
Jake nodded and grinned,
`Yes, Luke is my boyfriend.'
Several of the group recognised the British teen and knew of his history and were delighted to meet him in person. Even Peter mustered a smile and offered a hand to shake. Luke joined the group for a drink and then, when they had finished, agreed with Jake that it was time to go home.
On the journey back Luke said,
`They seem like a friendly bunch. If you have another pub evening let me know and, if possible, I'll try to come along as well.'
Jake nodded and replied,
`Yeah, that would be great.'
Luke detected a degree of hesitancy in the Americans voice and said,
`But?'
In reply, Jake told his boyfriend about his concerns over Peter and the excuses that his co-workers had made for him. Luke put a consoling arm around the American and tried his best to offer support,
`I suppose in any group there's bound to be one who is to some degree homophobic, or perhaps the chemistry between you is wrong. Also, it must be hard for him being the son of the boss as well.'
`Yes, I wondered about that and whether, if he is homophobic, they are his views or those of his dad as well. I do know that I'm the only member of the group I work with that has no settled shift pattern. I keep being moved to different times and days. I'm sure the manager will say it's because I'm on restricted hours, the most junior of the group and need to widen my experience, but I think there's more to it.'
`Well, if you are unhappy, I'm sure that you could find another job. My dad could put out feelers if you want.'
`No, Luke, don't do that, at least not for a while. I don't want to be seen to give in to that kind of attitude and be driven away from the job, especially as the rest of the group are great, as you saw.'
Over the following weeks, life for both teenagers showed some degree of improvement, although the problem of not having much time off together remained an issue. In terms of work, Jake found that his relationships with his colleagues, including Peter, had improved and arrangements for after work drinks were becoming a regular feature.
Luke, too, had heard from Brian that both Andy and Phil had agreed to join the coaching group that the assistant coach was leading. At the first meeting of the small group which was joined by the two newcomers, Andy made a very full, public apology for his previous outburst. Although not entirely convinced of its sincerity, the young assistant coach thanked him and expressed the hope that the matter was now closed. The group worked well together, and it was reassuring that Andy and Phil had taken on board the comments he had made at their first meeting.
On a more personal level, the two teenagers had each received a firm offer of a place at Kings College, London which meant that they would be moving there later in the year. They took little time in letting Ahmad and Mike know the good news and were delighted to learn that Sam had already moved into a room in a flat that would become vacant over the summer and into which Mike, Ahmad, Luke and Jake would be able to move. Disappointingly, the chance to go to London to see the flat and hang out with their friends came up against the issue of work requirements. However, they were pleased to hear that their friends would be returning to the town over the Spring and Easter holidays.
The highlight of the first month was the deposit of their wages into their joint bank account that Luke and Jake had set up to save for their student life together. The week after their first pay cheques, a sudden and unexpected snowfall brought about a setback to the pair. The heating in the leisure centre developed a problem and it was closed for several days leading to the cancellation of classes and swimming practice sessions. The slowness in clearing the roads also disrupted the deliveries to the supermarket and because some customers had indulged in panic buying it had left Jake and his colleagues attempting to pacify angry shoppers faced with empty shelves. Then, just as suddenly, deliveries rolled in, and the shift workers were rushed off their feet trying to sort and shelve the abundance of supplies.
Eventually, things got back to normal, and the teenagers settled back into the routine of often meeting only at the start and end of the day. This was why one evening towards the end of the second month, Luke began to worry because Jake, who was usually prompt at returning home after his shift, was late. The British teen's concern grew as the time advanced and his anxiety communicated itself to Molly who said,
`What's the matter, sweetheart?'
`Jake's very late back from the shop, mum, I'm worried.'
`Perhaps he and his work pals have gone to the pub.'
`Maybe, but he usually tells me if that is happening, in case I'm able to join him, but tonight I haven't heard anything from him.'
Molly called across to Robert, who was working in his study. When he came into the room, the British teen's mum said,
`Luke's worried that Jake's late back. If he doesn't appear in the next few minutes, perhaps you both should both go out and look for him.'
Robert nodded and, when there was still no sign of Jake, a few minutes later, he and Luke were driving towards the supermarket using the route that they knew the American would use to cycle home. There was no sign of life for much of the journey, but flashing blue lights caught Luke's attention and a feeling of dread coursed through the British teen. As they got nearer, they could see a Police Car and Ambulance some distance further ahead. Robert drove as close to the incident as he could before stopping the car and Luke rushed towards the tape barrier that had been set up.
A Policeman stepped forward, stopped him and said,
`I'm sorry you can't go any further, sir.'
`Why? What's happened? My boyfriend was coming home this way, and he hasn't arrived yet, so my dad and I have been looking for him and I need to know where he is. What's happened here?'
`I'm sorry, sir, I can't give you any information at the moment.'
Robert had overheard the conversation and intervened,
`Excuse me, Officer, I am this young man's father. Is Superintendent Brownlow in charge here? If so, please tell him that Robert Townsend and his son are here and enquiring about Jake Johnson. We want to know what's going on and whether he is involved in what had happened.'
The Constable nodded, told Robert and Luke to wait where they were, and moved away from the barrier leaving the British pair alone. A few moments later, a senior Police Officer came towards them looking grim. The new arrival nodded at Robert and Luke and said,
`I'm Detective Chief Inspector Gray and I am in charge here. I understand that you are enquiring about Jake Johnson. All I can confirm at the moment is that a person with that id on him has been attacked.'
Luke gave out a cry of agony and interrupted the Police Officer,
`Is ... is he okay?'
Chief Inspector Gray put on a reassuring look,
`He's alive and the paramedics are working on him right now. He's been badly beaten up and has lots of cuts, bruises, a broken arm and two broken ribs so he'll need to go to hospital and be monitored for shock and have his broken arm treated properly.'
Robert put a comforting arm around his son who was too shocked and upset to speak and then the older man said,
`May we see him? Do you know who might have done this to him?'
`We are treating this as a crime scene so you can only go to the ambulance, I'll get an Officer to guide you so that you don't contaminate the scene. I must warn you that Jake's a bit woozy but if the medics say its ok then I'm happy for you to see him. As to who did this, for now, we have some ideas about who might have done this but it's early days and we're keeping an open mind.'
Robert absorbed the reply, which was along the lines he expected and then supported Luke as they walked towards the ambulance. Both father and son were taken aback by what they saw. Much of Jake's body was covered in bandages and his face was covered in blood. Luke leaned in to try to give his boyfriend a comforting hug but was stopped by the paramedic and had to settle for squeezing the hand of Jake's good arm. The ambulance was obviously ready to leave, and Luke said quietly,
`May I go with him, please? Jake's my boyfriend.'
The paramedic looked at Robert who nodded and then indicated somewhere for Luke to sit. As soon as the British teen was inside, the doors were closed and the ambulance, with lights flashing, moved slowly away, gathering speed as it reached the main road and headed towards the town's hospital. Robert returned to his car and followed.
When the ambulance arrived at the Emergency Department entrance, the paramedics quickly moved Jake inside. Luke was told to use the main entrance and go to the waiting area while the doctors completed their preliminary assessment. Disappointed not to be by his side, the British teen sat disconsolately in the soleless room which was full of people waiting to be triaged. Luke tried to keep his composure as images of his injured boyfriend flashed through his mind. Some minutes later he was cheered by the arrival of his mum and dad. Robert had driven home, picked up Molly and, after they had spoken briefly to Jake's parents and told them what had happened and promised an update as soon as possible, the pair went straight to the hospital. Although the room was nearly full, they managed to find seats together and filled the time with supportive conversation until a doctor appeared at the entrance to the treatment area and beckoned them across.
`I'm Dr Crawshaw and I have been looking after Jake. The good news is that, although the injuries look bad, they are not as serious as first appeared. Jake has had an x-ray and, apart from his arm and a couple of ribs, there are no fractures, only a few abrasions and some heavy bruising. We've given him some analgesic which has made him drowsy, and we intend to keep him in our observation ward overnight.'
`May I see him?' Luke asked tentatively.
The doctor looked at Robert and Molly before replying and received a nod of approval from Luke's dad,
`Of course, come on through but maybe only just you and only for a minute or two, as he is very sleepy and needs to rest.'
Before he guided Luke to the treatment area where Jake was lying, the doctor looked at his watch and realised the time and said to Robert,
`All being well, he should be able to go home later today after our morning rounds.'
Luke followed the doctor towards one of the bays and received a weak smile from Jake as he came closer. The pair held hands for a short while and Luke leant forward and planted a kiss on the American teenager's forehead. Fighting back tears, Luke whispered,
`I'll be back later and hopefully you'll be back home soon. I love you.'
Jake gave a weak nod and murmured a response before watching Luke as he walked slowly away.
The first thing that Molly did when she got up the following morning was to telephone the hospital for an update on Jake's condition. The news was good, the American had had a restful night, and his vitals were all close to normal. Reassured, Molly next called Scott in America with the positive news and reassure him that there was no need for him to fly across to see him just yet. Finally, she telephoned the supermarket where Jake worked and told them what had happened. She received a sympathetic response, but the store manager also asked if there was any indication of how long the American teenager would be off work. In reply, Luke's mum tried to suppress her anger at the question and replied tersely that she thought it would be at least a couple of weeks and maybe longer and that he would only return when he was fit enough to do so. Luke overheard what his mother was saying when he went into the kitchen and said that he would telephone the leisure centre, explain what had happened and ask Peter Jackson for the day off, but Molly suggested that it would be better for him to go to work rather than sit about moping. Despite protesting that he'd rather stay at home so that he was around when Jake came home from hospital, Luke realised that what his mother had said made sense. When he arrived at the leisure centre, Peter Jackson immediately offered his sympathetic support to the young man and told him he would understand if the teenager was distracted and not really fit to work. Luke, however, tried to reassure him that all was well, and he would be fine to take his classes, which would help stop his mind from dwelling on what Jake had been through.
As events turned out, Luke was able to sneak away for a couple of hours between his commitments at the leisure centre and visit Jake who was sitting up and looking much better than when he first arrived at the hospital. The American teen had been interviewed by the Police and said that he had been able to offer a partial description of one of his attackers and had got the impression that this had been a great help to the investigation. Jake added that he hoped to be able to come back home later in the day but had to have a couple more tests before he could be discharged. Reassured by what he had heard, Luke returned to the leisure centre and took his other classes without incident. When he got home, he discovered that his dad had just left to pick Jake up from the hospital and that he would be back very soon. Molly, of course, had prepared some easily digestible food for the two teenagers to have once the American teen was settled back in and ready to eat.
On hearing his dad's car in the drive, Luke rushed to the front door and went outside so that he could welcome his boyfriend on his return. Jake emerged from the car looking slightly wobbly and Luke rushed forward to offer a steadying arm, remembering at the last minute to reach for the American's good arm. When he got inside, Molly carefully wrapped her arms around Jake and gave him a very gentle hug making sure to avoid aggravating the broken ribs. Jake gave a weak smile, turned and thanked Robert for coming to bring him back from hospital and then, with Luke's help, went up to their room. Once there, Luke burst into tears of relief and mumbled,
`I'm so glad to have you back. I don't know what I would have done if it had been more serious or if ...' Luke's voice trailed off as he became distressed at the continuation of the thought that could have meant losing his boyfriend altogether.
Jake smiled weakly and said, quietly,
`Don't worry, Luke, I'm not going anywhere! I'll never leave you! Americans are made a strong stuff. Takes more than three or four thugs to finish me off.'
Luke leaned forward and kissed Jake on the lips before realising that it must have been painful for the American, who, fortunately, seemed not to notice. A few moments later there was a knock on the door and Luke went to open it where he found his mum was standing outside,
`Robert and I just wondered if you boys would like something to eat. I've made several of Jake's favourites and I know you must be very hungry, Luke.'
The teenagers indicated that they were, indeed, hungry and followed Molly to the kitchen. Whereas Luke ate heartily, Jake somewhat picked at his food and ate sparingly before announcing that he felt very tired and thought he might go straight to bed. Just as they were leaving to go back upstairs, Molly said quietly,
`Luke, I've made up a bed in the room next door to your usual bedroom, you both might find it easier to rest if you use both rooms.'
As usual, Luke knew that his mother was not only being kind and sympathetic but also that she was right. He helped Jake up to their usual room and then waited to see if the American needed any assistance getting ready for bed. The British teenager helped where he could and was pleasantly surprised when he noticed a distinct bulge in his boyfriend's underwear. Jake looked down and grinned,
`That's one thing they didn't manage to damage, as you can see, but maybe we should wait a day or so before I demonstrate that fact!'
Luke grinned and nodded in acceptance but could not resist the temptation to lean down and kiss the semi-hard dick from piss-slit to balls, bringing a sigh of pleasure from Jake. As he pulled reluctantly away, the British teen grinned and said,
`Call that a confirmation of your offer. Now, you get all the rest you need, and I'll see you in the morning. I'm so glad that you are back home and on the mend. I love you very much.'
Jake nodded and said, quietly,
`I love you, too, and it's good to be home.'
The pair exchanged a final kiss on the lips before Luke slipped out of the room and went back downstairs. Robert and Molly spent a while chatting to their son and discussing what would happen next. Robert updated the story,
`Jake told me that the Police had asked if they could interview him again soon, but the doctors suggested that they not do it until he was feeling stronger. He seemed to think that they may have an idea about who might have attacked him, but they may need a bit more evidence before they can make an arrest. They took some of his clothes away for DNA testing, if any of the perpetrators are on their database, they will have good grounds on which to bring them in for questioning.'
Molly added,
`That's really positive news, isn't it?'
Luke nodded and then said,
`Why would anyone attack Jake? I don't understand.'
Robert replied,
`The Police are working on two theories. One is that he was attacked by a homophobic group and the other is that the motive was robbery. I suppose it could have been a mixture of both.'
`OK, but what I don't understand is why they chose him and why they knew he would use that route.'
`Well, Luke, if the motive was homophobia, then they might have recognised him, waited for the right moment and then attacked him, but the same might be said if the motive was robbery. If they knew where he worked, the place they chose was more-or-less bound to be on his route home and was in an area that was relatively secluded. It was fortunate that a young couple had parked nearby and once they realised what was happening interrupted what was going on and called the emergency services.'
Luke sighed and then said,
`I hope we can find them and thank them.'
Molly gave her son a hug and then Robert said,
`I think that would be wonderful and I expect the Police will have spoken to them and it might be possible to ask them either to set up a meeting with those witnesses or to pass on your thanks. If it goes to trial, I doubt that you will be able to talk to witnesses before a verdict is reached.'
Suddenly, the enormity of what had happened and even more what might have happened overwhelmed Luke and he felt exhausted and, on the verge of tears, announced that he was ready to go to bed. Molly wrapped her son in a hug and, after they had said their `goodnights', Luke went upstairs and got into the bed his mother had made up in the room next door to Jake, but, tired as he was, he found it difficult to sleep. He tossed and turned as the thought of how much worse the attack might have been invaded his consciousness.
The next day, Molly insisted that Luke should go to the leisure centre and take his classes, not least because she hoped it would continue to help take his mind off what had happened to Jake. She also felt that Jake needed some quiet time to aid his recovery and, after he had eaten an unusually sparse breakfast, shepherded the American teenager into the lounge and closed the door. All hope of it being a quiet morning, however, was shattered less than an hour later when the doorbell rang. Molly opened the door and found a young Police Constable standing outside. The young women produced her Warrant Card and said,
`Good morning, my name is PC Claire Robson. I am looking for Jacob Johnson, who, I believe, lives here. I have been appointed his victim's liaison officer. May I come in?'
Molly stood aside as to allow Claire to enter and said,
`I'm Molly, he prefers to be called Jake and I'm his boyfriend's mother. He's resting in the lounge through there. Would you like me to make some tea, and then would it be OK if I come in with you?'
The Police officer nodded, and Molly led the way. When they entered, it was obvious that Jake had been dozing because he gave out a little start of surprise. While Molly made the tea, Claire introduced herself and explained that her job was to keep Jake informed of developments in the investigation and to help in any other ways needed.
Jake indicated that he understood so Claire continued,
`The information you gave the investigation team yesterday was very helpful. Also, we hope that the forensic tests at the site of the attack and from your clothing will produce more evidence. However, if you feel up to it, my colleagues would like to come to see you again sometime today.'
Molly was ready to intervene to say that another day would be better, but Jake spoke before she could say anything,
`I want to help as much as I can, so, yes, tell them to come. I want the people that did this to me caught and punished.'
`Thank you, Jake. That is great,' Claire said before using her radio to speak to her CID colleagues and then resumed speaking to the American teenager,
I've spoken to the investigation team and DS George Cartmel and DC Sam Crossley will be coming round within the next hour. I'm happy to stay or ...'
Jake broke in and said,
`I think I'd like a bit of quiet time please, that way I'll be better prepared for seeing the detectives.'
Claire nodded and she and Molly left the teenager alone, retiring to the kitchen. Once there, Claire said,
`Jake looks better than I expected. I assume you are in touch with his parents?'
Molly replied,
`Yes, Jake is very resilient, but it will take some time before he's fully back to normal. We spoke to Jake's mum and dad just after we heard about the attack and again yesterday. For the time being they are happy to be kept informed by video calls and to leave the day-to-day stuff to my husband and me. Either his mum or dad will come over to visit him once he is stronger and Jake thinks that is for the best.'
Claire's two-way radio buzzed. The Constable listened to what was being said and then passed the information on to Molly,
`CID are on their way and should be here very soon.'
A police car turned into the drive and Molly opened the door to the detectives who introduced themselves before accepting the inevitable cup of tea. DS Cartmel was a little younger than Molly and DC Crossley was in her thirties, both detectives gave the air of experienced investigators.
Molly smiled at the newcomers and said,
`Jake has been resting, I'll just pop in and tell him you're here. Although he's old enough to speak to you on his own, I think it would be good if I was present, but I don't want him to feel overwhelmed.'
I agree in principle', said DS Cartmel, However, I still feel you may be right about it being somewhat overwhelming with all of us in there, but I'll leave it up to him. We need to hear what he says, and Claire needs to be there because she will be giving ongoing support until the case is resolved.'
Molly felt like saying that she was more likely to be delivering ongoing support than Claire but held her tongue. She understood the logic of what the detective had said and led the way back to the lounge, going in ahead of the others to make sure the American teenager was ready. Molly was pleased when Jake indicated that he very much wanted her to stay with him.
When everyone was settled, the senior detective began the conversation by saying that they had several possible suspects in mind and Jake's description had been useful and helped narrow down the search. They had brought some photographs to show him which might reduce the list even further.'
DC Crossley produced a small pack of photographs and handed them to Jake, who looked carefully at each one before finally saying,
`I think I recognise two faces in this group. However, it was very dark so I can't really be absolutely sure.'
The senior detective nodded and waited for Jake to pass him the two photographs he thought he recognised and then said,
`We understand, Jake, but what you have done is very useful indeed. The two faces you have identified are known to us and I think we may already have enough to bring them in for questioning, but I may wait for the forensics before I do.'
After the detectives left, Claire stayed for a short while before also returning to the Police Station. Jake was left alone to rest. Molly received several telephone calls shortly afterwards. The first was from Luke, asking how Jake was getting on and received strong reassurances from his mum that his boyfriend was doing very well and that the Police were pleased with his most recent interview. The other calls came from Jake's supervisor at the supermarket also wishing Jake well from all his co-workers, another from the manager of the leisure centre also sending best wishes and finally, from Brian, the swimming coach, offering sympathy and support and the best wishes of club members. Apart from passing on the Luke's message, Molly waited some time before disturbing Jake again.
Later in the day, Claire called in again and told Jake that the detectives were pleased with the progress that they were making but that there would be a delay of a couple of days before the forensics were back. Jake had spent much of the day relaxing and dozing so that, by the time Luke returned from the leisure centre, he was looking and feeling a lot brighter. He was managing reasonably well with his broken arm, but the ribs were very painful. To make everything manageable Jake required regular doses of analgesic.
That night, Luke again helped Jake out of his clothes and was pleased to see that, because of his efforts, the American's cock had responded and was fully erect. Easing Jake onto the bed, the British teenager took the rock-hard shaft between his lips and began sucking. Luke paused for a moment when he heard the American groan but quickly realised that the sound was one of pleasure, not pain and so continued to slurp and tease his mouth and tongue along the length of the erection. Soon, the moans became more excited as Jake's climax approached and the horny British teenager was rewarded by jets of cum firing onto his tongue and down his throat. Having watched Luke greedily swallow all that was on offer, Jake grinned at his boyfriend and said, weakly,
`Wow, I really needed that and I'm keeping score so that once I'm a bit better I can return the favour. I love you and always will.'
`No need to keep score at all. I do it to show you how much I care and how much I love you too. But now you need some rest, and I will leave you in peace.'
Luke kissed Jake and went into his own room where he undressed, lay naked in bed and enjoyed a long, slow wank before falling asleep.
