"Return of the Denton Boys"

Part 6

First light, also called sunrise, is the wakeup call for the Denton crew each morning. Henry, the Rhode Island Red rooster, would crow when the darkness changed to morning brightness. He would stretch shaking and squawking loud, however, for being an annoyance, he always escaped the roasting pan. Henry was definitely earning his keep.

Inside, the bunkhouse addition was complete after re-arraning sleeping cots. There was lots of space to hanker down, a pool table, a checker and poker table, plus distance for eating meals and relaxing. All the bunks were now in the extra room with no crowding.

Clara invited the Phinny's to Sunday dinner. The boys declined, but daughter Amanda was coming with her parents. She was not married and heard the Denton boys were wife hunting. Getting ready for company, Clara asked Rudy to help, and he happily agreed. He knew Clara's kitchen, and where she kept everything.

The boys in the bunkhouse had no cause to hassle Rudy, after all, Hank was doing kitchen work and cooking meals at the bunkhouse; besides cooks on the wagon trains were always cowpokes. Rudy was one of the wranglers, nothing more. That is just the way everybody saw him.

Rudy sat in the house peeling potatoes and dropping them unto a pail of cold water for Clara to boil when she returned from church.

"Whatcha doin, Cinderella?" cried out Tommy bringing some wood into the house for the wood box.

"Watch it!" barked Rudy, looking up with a knife in his hand.

Tommy smiled and put his arm around Rudy's shoulder. "I'm goofin, you ought to know that; blasted, you're my best friend."

"I am?"

"Darn tootin."

I thought Sawyer was your best friend," remarked Rudy.

"Yeahh, but Sawyer is everybody's friend. He is just that kind of wrangler. You're different and play the guitar better, but don't go blabbing that to Sawyer."

"I won't."

"Can I help with the taters?" asked Tommy. I know how to peel."

"Naw, I'm almost finished. Just fill the wood box for ma."

Rudy and Tom finished then sat on the stoop watching for the family to return from church. From there, the view of the road was perfect.

"Hey, I'm supposed to sweep out the chicken coop today," mumbled Tom. I better getter done before Ezra get back."

"Nope – ain't gotta do it. Joe is doing it for yuh," said Rudy.

"But, today is my turn, that's nuts. Why is Joe doing it?"

"I asked him too, because you were splitting wood."

"Mighty good of yuh – see, that's why ure my best friend," said Tommy.

"And here I thought, it was my singing," giggled Rudy.

"You strum the guitar and sing mighty relaxin. I could lay back and listen to you all night," replied Tom flashing his big Irish smile.

A cloud of dust was visible on the upper flats, made by two carriages coming this way. The Denton's and the Phinny's were heading towards the ranch.

"They're back, we better skid-daddle," said Tom.

They jumped from the stoop and Tom tripped falling on top of Rudy. This was the first time they touched one another. Cowboys seldom had the need to be that close, but this felt kinda nice. Rudy's hand caught Tom's legs gripping his crotch. Tom didn't move, instead he let Rudy touch his balls twice, before getting up and running away.

****** Clara asked everybody to have Sunday dinner at the house. Now it made sense why Rudy peeled so many potatoes. Ezra had tables pushed together covered with long white tablecloths.

At the bunkhouse Rudy was strumming musical notes that sounded good along with Tommy's harmonica. All the boys were there including Chad napping on his bunk.

"Jist sayin fellers, ma wants us at the house for Sunday dinner," announced Jesse. "She said to wash up a bit and put on clean shirts."

Rudy lifted his shirt over his slim bare frame. He looked like a lamb one would pick up and carry away. He wasn't husky, but looked remarkably good. The boys paid no attention to Rudy, not even Jesse. The only person, who watched him undress, was Tom who handed Rudy a clean shirt.

"Are you're awake? Jesse asked Chad."

`Yep, I'm resting my brain, so my body can take over. How was church, yuh get some words from the good book, for your soul?"

"I tossed fifty cents in the collection basket," Jesse chuckled.

"That oughta buy you something," Chad replied.

"Did ma say for us to change our clothes?" inquired Hank, who was polishing his boots and listening to Jesse and Chad talking.

"She said – "Wear a clean shirt - that was it."

Dinner allowed everybody to listen to themselves. They talked mostly about farming, turning the hour into a gab fest. The Phinny's and the Denton's were friendly neighbors and that pleased Clara immensely.

Jesse was seated next to Amanda, and they whispered constantly. Jesse took an interest in her, and she was coyly shinning up to him. After dinner Jesse showed Amanda the ranch and pa's herd of prime horse flesh.

"There they go towards the barn," said Sawyer watching his brother with a girl.

"It reminds me of yesterday. I hope he stays away from the hay loft," asserted Chad holding back a snarky laugh.

"What's wrong with the hay loft," interrupted Rudy.

"Golly, he would never do anything like that...Would he?" asked Sawyer.

"What's wrong with the hay loft," Rudy asked for the second time.

"Secret story, go away," said Chad.

"You know him better than me," Chad mumbled. "I'm just the barn whore."

"That's not funny," growled Sawyer.

"I'm only funning," laughed Chad, watching Rudy actually walking away.

"Do yuh think he'll try for a poke," Chad tested Sawyer for a reply.

"Naw – never, he only try's that with us, we're his brothers and dirty. Amanda's a farm gal and her kitty bloomers stay on until a wedding day."

"That's what good women usually do," whispered Chad, "plain and simple."

Everybody gathered in the sitting room in front of the big stone fireplace. "Play us a tune," Joe asked Rudy. It was a strange request coming from Joe, the quietest wrangler never saying much to anybody.

"I just happen to have my guitar," exclaimed Rudy, glancing towards Tommy, taking his harmonica from his shirt pocket. "I hear yuh." He said.

"Humm, let me see," mumbled Rudy looking around the room. "C'mon Sawyer, we're not about to carry on without you. Grab your guitar and we'll play the folks some tunes."

"AND, they sing too," Interrupted Clara, boasting about her boys."

The best part of Rudy's entertainment came when they plucked the guitars and sang. "The Yellow Rose of Texas" followed by "Home on the Range."

The get-together, when Rudy, Sawyer and Tommy entertained, was soon forgotten, but not the `Yellow Rose of Texas.'

Jesse was bored with the nonsense of sitting around watching Rudy play his guitar. He would rather have him naked and riding his cock. Jesse had a real problem from time to time. His pecker spent much of its stretch out of control and leaking.

"I know what yur thinking," whispered Sawyer to his brother.

"No you don't." Jesse mumbled, as not to be heard by anybody in the room.

"Sure do, – your little cock is swelling in your pants. You want Rudy."

"Hush up, and it's not little, don't start that again. Okay – I'm itching to ride Rudy, that's what I'm aiming for."

"Yup, you get a mark for being consistent, I gotta give you that," declared Sawyer.
