CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX: AFTERMATH/THE MEETING
TREY'S POV
I truly hated Drake. My hatred was red hot and fiery. That dammed picture made me ill every time I looked at it for the rest of that day. I avoided talking to any of my friends or Bear because I didn't trust myself to keep my mouth shut. I thought though that I would be spared another embarrassing situation but I was wrong.
As soon as I stepped foot into school the next day I saw Drake. He smirked and winked at me while waving his phone around which served to piss me off, but I chose to ignore him for the time being as I had to find Todd.
When I saw him at his locker he looked pissed off and glared at me with such intensity that it scared me. I started toward him though ignoring Calvin's insistence that I stay away from him as I had to tell him that Drake had seen us and that he had taken a picture.
I didn't get the chance though as just before I reached him I heard his phone make a chirping sound. He took out his phone and looked at it and his face went pale. He looked at me and there was such a variety of emotions playing in his expression from fear to anger and rage.
It didn't end there though as I started to hear different sounds going off around me. Something told me to pay attention so I did and I saw students pulling out their phones and looking at them then looking up at me. It didn't help that I happened to be standing within a few feet of Todd and I just knew they had gotten the pic.
"Trey, look at what I just got," Calvin said as he caught up to me. He showed me his phone and it was definitely the picture.
"You did this," Todd seethed.
"How the hell could I have done this? Were you even paying attention?" I asked as I tried to ignore all the stares and whispers.
"This is all your fault. If you didn't exist..." he said before trailing off.
"If he didn't exist, what?" Calvin asked stepping to Todd. Calvin wasn't small by any means, but he wasn't quite up to snuff to be dealing with someone like Todd.
"Calvin, chill out," I said and he looked at me like I was crazy but he stepped back. "As for you, I do exist and I've existed here for a long time before you even got here so if anybody should be going somewhere it's you," I said. I was no longer surprised at this point at my boldness in challenging guys who were a lot bigger than me. I sometimes wondered if I had developed a deathwish or something.
"Who do you think-," was all Todd was able to get out before he was pulled back and slammed into the lockers next to him. I knew immediately that it was Bear.
"Who the fuck do you think you are putting your nasty ass lips on my man?" Bear shouted so loud that I thought the whole school must've heard him. I saw that Sean, Justice, Liberty, Jessica, Veronica and Christian were with him.
"Get the hell off of me Davidson. Your little fag is the one who kissed me," Todd lied. I became pissed off for more than one reason.
One was, here was Todd yet again calling me fag and I had finally figured out why it sounded so weird and made me so angry when he said it. It was because it sounded forced, like he was saying it because that's what he felt he should be saying and that made me angry.
Second was that Bear looked like he actually believed him, with the look that crossed his face. Todd looked to take pleasure in this, with Bear thinking that his fiancé wanted him, like I ever would. Maybe Bear didn't trust me because I hadn't told him about this right after it happened. No matter what either of them were thinking, I had to set the record straight, so to speak.
"You lying fucker. Do you think I'd ever willingly kiss your ugly ass in a million years?" I asked hotly.
"You weren't calling me ugly when you were shoving your tongue down my throat," Todd said smugly.
Everyone was looking at me now, some with pissed off looks like "how dare you cheat on Bear Davidson after he turned gay for you?" What really made me angry was that some of my so-called friends were doing it too. Calvin was about the only one who wasn't believing this shit and for that I was thankful to have him as my brother.
"You lying sack of shit," Calvin said angrily.
"I'm not lying about anything, kid," Todd said still with that smug look on his stupid face.
"Yeah, you are," said Drake as he stepped through the crowd.
"Butt out Drake," I said not in the mood for his bullshit since he was the cause of everyone seeing that pic.
"Oh Trey, I think you're gonna want me to get involved in this," Drake said with a smug smile of his own.
"Get lost Drake, I'm busy dealing with something else so I don't have time to kick your ass," Bear growled.
"Now Bear, there's no need to get pissy. I'm here to, unfortunately, exonerate your, boyfriend... lover... well whatever you call him," Drake said in a patronizing tone.
"I call him my fiancé, and what are you talking about?" Bear asked. Todd looked curious and worried at the same time... good.
"Well I'm the one that sent you, along with everyone else that pic you got, and there's a vid to go along with it," Drake said and I couldn't believe I didn't consider that he recorded it.
"You bastard," Todd said as he pushed Bear away and started for Drake but Bear slammed him back against the lockers. Todd looked so furious, but the look of fear in his eyes was more pronounced as Drake took out his phone and did something.
"There you go," Drake said before we all heard the message alert go off on Bear's phone and he pulled it out I heard everything so clearly.
"Okay first of all, that's way too many uses of the word "just" to not have used it correctly and secondly, I was here first so fuck you," I said and I remembered how pissed off I was.
"I'm not your boyfriend," I heard Todd say.
"Is that what you want?" I heard myself ask.
"No I don't," he said back.
"No, I think you do want to be my boyfriend. It explains why you are always messing with me, why you won't leave me alone, and why you can't stop thinking about me living across the street from you," I heard myself say and I regretted bating him like that.
"Shut the fuck up you little fairy," he said and I remembered the look in his eyes.
"How many nights have you woken up and looked out of your window on the off chance of catching a glimpse of me?" I hear myself ask and I could hear the smugness in my voice.
"I'm warning you," he said.
"If you want, I'll be happy to leave my curtain open tonight so you can see me getting undressed," I hear myself say and I shook my head at how stupid I'd been as I heard him slamming me against the lockers.
"I warned you, you fucking faggot," he said and I could hear the rage and fear in his voice.
"Todd, now wait a minute," I heard myself say and I finally heard worry in my voice.
"Shut the fuck up," he said, his voice dripping with anger. I knew what came next and I got confirmation as I heard gasps from the people who had gathered around to get a glimpse of Bear's phone.
"What the fuck are you doing?" I shouted and I remembered how repulsed I'd been, even though truthfully, Todd wasn't an ugly guy. He just repulsed me for some reason.
"You did that," he said angrily.
"I didn't do a dammed thing. You're the one that shoved your tongue down my throat," I heard myself say in anger.
"No I didn't, you-," he started before I cut in.
"Yes you did. Who's the fag now?" I asked and I remembered how angry and scared he looked, much like he was at that moment listening to himself being outed by video.
"And there you have it. Todd started the whole thing. Todd Davis is a fag and yet another football player to become one after being exposed to Trey Healey. I wonder how long it's gonna take before you football players realize that being around Trey is a threat to your sexuality," Drake said gleefully since he got to make his grand point.
"Shut the hell up Drake," Justice said as she charged toward him. He held his hands up in mock surrender.
"You can't stop this, Justice. It's happening," he said before a sinister smile appeared on his face and he looked at me. "You know, your campaign slogan should have been "vote for me and I'll turn you into a cocksucker," he said and I was about to deck him but we were all interrupted.
"Is there a problem here?" Mr. Renner asked in a stern tone from where he stood with a few teachers. He looked pissed as his eyes swept over the crowd before they landed on me. He spied my fist drawn back a bit and that pissed looked turned to disappointment.
"There's no problem, right everyone," Sean said and mostly everyone agreed and started separating from the crowd to go about their business of spreading this new information about me around.
"I'm warning all of you, if you keep testing me I will make you regret it," Mr. Renner said in such a cold tone that it chilled me to the bone. He then walked by but not before sparing me another disappointed look. The teachers were still there making sure nothing more happened, I'm sure. Todd looked around at us before his gaze fell on me. It was the first time he didn't look at me with hatred and anger. There was just fear there. He finally left with his head down.
"You just can't help it can you? You just have to be a bastard," Liberty asked Drake as she stepped up to him.
"I gotta be me," Drake said looking resigned. I guess he still had feelings for Liberty.
"Yeah you do, and that's the problem," she said before Christian put his arm around her and they left after she gave me a pat on the shoulder.
"Alright now, everyone get ready and get to class," said one of the teachers. Bear started toward me, but I couldn't help but glare at him for believing that I'd ever willingly kiss that fool Todd. I guess he read that I was pissed at him because he stepped back and mouthed `I'm sorry' before leaving in the opposite direction.
Sean, Veronica, and Jessica followed him which left me with Calvin and Justice. Calvin gave me a pat on the back before he too left for his homeroom. Justice looked like she didn't know what to say, but I couldn't believe she had been one of those who were believing that I'd ever do something like that to Bear. I finally left her there and went to my homeroom class as well.
The rest of the week was hell as I was once again the center of attention for the wrong reason. It was junior year all over again as people stared and whispered about me, but were mostly afraid to actually say or do anything to me because of course I was with Bear.
Speaking of Bear, I hadn't spoken to him since Tuesday, despite his efforts to get me to hear him out. I still wasn't ready to get over him thinking I'd ever do anything with Todd, nor was I ready to do so with my so-called friends, except Liberty who was the only one who wasn't believing Todd, so I wasn't speaking to them either. Well I was still speaking to Carter, Miriam and Dale as they weren't there to cast aspersions on me.
One thing that I guess was good was that Clyde was not the ice king anymore around me. I was sure that he would have gone to Mr. Renner and asked for a new tutor but he showed up on time on Thursday and was a bit friendlier than he had been the previous week. I'm not saying we were best friends or anything but it was a welcome thing after 3 days of being on display.
Bear called on Friday before their last game and begged me to come, but I told him that I was tired. I knew that I was being petty but it served him right for thinking even for a second that after waiting for him for 5 years that I'd just throw him over for a self-hating meat-headed closet case like Todd Davis.
Jeremy told me on Friday at school that Todd's family had found out about him and that his father had told him not to come home. I wanted to feel bad about that and in a small way I did, but after what he had done to me, I didn't feel much compassion for him. Jeremy also surprised me when he said that his own parents had told Todd to find somewhere else to stay.
It was a shock because they didn't come off as being ones who hated gays. I guess I really had no reference for that though as I hadn't really had any interaction with them after I was outed. Jeremy's brother wasn't a surprise as I remembered seeing him glare at Bear and me one time we were outside being affectionate in public so I guess the parents were the same.
Jeremy said that Todd would be staying with Coach Davis and I guess that was my confirmation that they were related to him. There's also the fact that Jeremy called him uncle Tim that sold that confirmation.
It turned out that Coach Davis was the older brother of both Jeremy and Todd's fathers. That struck me as strange... that of the three brothers, the football coach would be the most tolerant of gays. I guess that I shouldn't have been shocked though as he was seemingly accepting of Bear and Carter, so why not his own nephew.
All in all I was glad when the week was over and I was not looking forward to school on Monday. I could honestly say that that was probably the first time that I'd felt like that since I was 12. I was starting to hate school and people like Drake and Todd and at one point my brother. It just seemed to never end and I was getting fed up.
I was having a strange but good dream. I didn't know why, but I was feeling very good. Then a few things started to register, like something licking my face. It felt good though and I briefly considered if I were a freak that I was getting turned on by a dream where some animal was licking my face.
I then became more aware and I felt something on my bed. My eyes quickly shot open and I saw somebody big hovering over me very closely. Still half asleep and panicked my natural reaction was to defend myself by driving my fist hard into this guy's gut which got the desired effect of a loud "oof" and a groan and a swear. He fell over on my bed and I gathered my senses enough to see that it was Bear holding his stomach and groaning.
"Bear, what the hell are you doing?" I asked while trying to calm my rapidly beating heart.
"I was trying to surprise you," he said in halted speech.
"Well don't do that again," I said feeling slightly embarrassed about my reaction.
"Oh don't worry, I won't," he said while still holding his midsection and groaning.
"Stop putting on Bear. You know I didn't hurt you that bad," I said hoping I didn't hurt him bad but not willing to show my concern.
"Oh yeah, well let me punch you in the gut like that and have you tell me it didn't hurt that bad," he argued before finally sitting up gingerly.
"Please man, I'm not stupid. You are a football player who's had guys slamming into you at good speeds and a little punch by me is what fells you, yeah right," I said still not willing to give in.
"Whatever you say Trey," he said acquiescing to me, but for some reason I didn't like it like I thought I would.
"What are you doing licking my face?" I asked again embarrassed that it was turning me on.
"Well you said that I'm the beast that you tamed so I thought I'd play the part," he said with a sexy grin.
"Yeah right, like I believe you're tame," I said with folded arms.
"I am, I'll prove it," he said while bouncing on my bed in front of me like he was a dog or something. I couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped me.
"Well you can... do that thing that you were... doing before," I managed to get out past my embarrassment. His face lit up at hearing that.
"So you liked that huh. Well I supposed I could do that again, if that's what you want," he said with his deep voice going even deeper as he spoke.
I nodded my head shyly and he grasped my chin to pull my face towards his before he kissed me long and deep before he pulled away and again started licking me behind my ear. I was shocked such a thing was turning me on, but it was big time.
He then took my earlobe between his teeth and gently nibbled on it before he let it go and started again kissing and nibbling just behind my ear. He was driving me crazy and I think he was getting off on gaining this new piece of information.
He gently pushed me back so I was lying down and he laid most of his weight on top of me and I loved it. I really delighted in feeling his weight and his hard strong body pressed against mine. He returned to my lips and we kissed again with our tongues dueling and wrestling with each other in a blissful contest.
We continued our kiss as our hands explored each other's backs and sides. I grabbed Bear's ass with both my hands and he let out a moan and ground his crotch harder into mine. He was sending me into overdrive as he pressed his body against mine and I felt his hard dick next to mine.
His hand drifted lower and went between our bodies before he wrapped his fingers around my completely hard covered dick which elicited a loud moan from me which he swallowed. He gave one stroke of my dick and I was sure I was about to come unglued, but it was not to be as we heard a knock at my door.
"Okay boys, that's enough private time. Get on downstairs," I heard my dad say. I must say that I was grateful that he didn't open the door though. We both laughed to release the built up tension and Bear pulled himself off of me which I didn't like at all.
"Well that was fun," Bear said with a wide grin.
"Yeah we have to do that again sometime," I responded with an equally wide grin.
"Most definitely," he said before leaning over and giving me a gentle kiss before getting up and heading for the door.
"Where are you going?" I asked not at all ready for him to leave now that he had broken though my defenses as he was a pro at doing.
"I have to meet my dad somewhere. I just stopped by to see you and well... I just need to see you," he said and I agreed and I felt stupid for acting the way I had.
"Oh, okay," I simply said.
"Trey, I'm sorry for thinking even for a second that you would do anything with Todd. It's just when I saw that picture I was so pissed that he had touched you in that way that it messed with my reasoning. I'm truly sorry baby," he said and I could tell he was serious and sincere.
"I understand and I forgive you big guy. Let's just forget that whole thing ever happened," I said trying to move past this petty thing. He nodded and I returned it.
"I love you Trey," he said with the grin that made me love him every time.
"I know, and I love you too big guy," I told him and his grin turned into a loving smile that touched me deeply. He gave me one last look before he left my room.
"Dude, you look like you lost your best friend or something," Calvin said in his "infinite wisdom". He was referring to the fact that I was slumped on the couch relenting my high school fate. Despite Bear's surprise visit I was still down in the dumps about everything.
"Be gone with you," I said waving my hand to get him to leave.
"Look man, it's not so bad. You could be getting beaten up and bullied, but you have-" he said before I stopped him.
"Don't say it. I'm not in the mood," I told him. I knew what he was about to say and it didn't exactly make me feel better knowing that the only thing keeping people from being openly hostile toward me was the fact that they were scared of Bear.
"I'm just saying that things aren't as bad as they seem. Besides, you'll always have me," he said adding a cheesy smile at the end.
"Oh joy," I said unenthusiastically while trying not to roll my eyes.
"Buck up dude and look on the bright side. All of this will be a distant memory this time next year," he said probably referring to the fact that I'd be away at college and away from that school then.
"Yeah, whatever," I said not willing to get out of my funk just yet.
"Want me to call Bear over again so he can... give you a rise?" he asked with a rise of his eyebrows and a creepy leer. I responded by hitting him in the face with the nearby pillow which led to a pillow fight, but a manly one so it was okay.
"Boys, play nice," mom said as she walked by on the way to the kitchen from taking some laundry upstairs. We were interrupted by the doorbell. I gave Calvin one last hit before running to the door to avoid being counterattacked. I was in a jovial mood until I opened the door.
"Oh it's you," I said dully.
"Well hello to you too sunshine," Sean said as he stepped around me and walked further into my house.
"Hey Cal, what's the word," Sean greeted in his way. Calvin just looked back and forth between us and I could appreciate that he didn't know how to react to Sean seeing as how I was still mad at him.
"Beat it kid," I said giving him an out to the situation.
"Bite me," he said with a small smile as he got up and headed to the kitchen.
"What do you want Sean?" I asked in a snappy tone I was not sorry for.
"Oh come on dude, you can't possibly be still mad about that thing with Todd," Sean said looking incredulously at me which earned him a harsh glare.
"Yes I can as evidenced by the glare and scowl that are directed at you right now," I said, and I felt kind of bad since this was the first time I had been pissed off at Sean since we became friends.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay," he said offering up a lame apology.
"Well thank you for the half-assed apology. I feel warm all over," I said bitterly. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised you thought that though since we haven't been friends long and people I've been friends with a lot longer than you thought that I'd do it. Maybe I'm just not a trustworthy person," I said as I started to feel sad again.
"Trey man, I'm sorry. Really I am, but from the picture it looked like-" he said before I interrupted him by pushing him down on the couch and sat down on his lap and grabbed his head in my hands and got real close to his face.
"So, from how I'm sure this looks to anyone who'd see us, if Bear came in and saw this, he'd be right to wanna kill you, right?" I asked him as I stared into his eyes with a smirk.
"Um, you need to move," he said looking all kinds of uncomfortable. I decided that he needed messing with so I did just that.
"What's the matter? Are you getting a boner from me sitting here?" I asked as I smiled what Bear had called my sexy smile at him.
"Get off me," he said before picking me up and depositing me on the cushion next to where he was seated and stood up. "Alright, I get your point. I was stupid to even for a second think that you would willingly kiss that dude," he said sounding truly sorry so I decided to forgive him.
"Well I guess I can forgive you and stop being a woman about the situation," I said which made him smile.
"Well I wasn't gonna say anything," he joked.
"Do you want to repeat that, dearest son?" mom asked startling the both of us.
"Repeat what?" I said playing dumb.
"Uh huh," mom said giving me a mock scowl.
"Well to change the subject, I did have a reason for coming over. My folks are having a big to do, as mom calls it, and I've been tasked with inviting the Healey's to the big shindig," Sean said in that way he had of talking sometimes.
"Ooh, a party. Tell your mother that we'll be there," mom said all excited.
"Don't you think you should talk to dad before you go accepting party invitations for all of us?" I asked, although I had ulterior motives for doing so.
"Why would I do that? If I say we're going, then we're going. Now what will I wear," mom said before heading upstairs while muttering to herself.
"So, are you ready to party?" Sean asked with a big smile.
"No, because I'm not going," I said and that smile vanished.
"Why not?" he asked.
"I just want to be alone right now. I don't want to be around a whole bunch of people," I said which was partly true.
"What do you mean `a whole bunch of people'? You're gonna know most of the people there," he said which I already knew.
"Yeah, I'm sure I will," I replied.
"Trey, is this about what people are talking about at school?" he asked finally understanding.
"Look, I'm just not in the mood to put up with people looking at me like I'm some freak show," I told him.
"Trey, they don't matter. Just because they talk means nothing to you. You know who you are and they can just go fuck themselves," he said before adding a smirk.
"I'd pay to see that," I replied with a small chuckle.
"There you go. Now you're coming to the party tonight because you've made so much progress and I'm not gonna let you go back now," he said and I was touched with his sincerity and his concern about me.
"Fine, I'll go," I said finally agreeing.
"Good, now I have to be going. Got some things to do," he said as he stood up.
"Do these things involve Justice by any chance?" I asked.
"Maybe," he said with a conspiratorial grin. I saw him to the door and we fist bumped before he left and I resigned myself to being around people from my school. Well there would probably be more older people there so I guess it wouldn't be so bad.
ZANE'S POV
I really wasn't in the mood for a party, especially on such short notice, but ma was adamant that all of us be there and of course Nicole had to be there and overhear this. She wanted to go to this thing and stacked against my mother and my girl, well there was no other choice.
I so needed some sleep with all the training and stuff I had been doing. I was just so happy that I was almost at the finish line and I'd be graduating very soon and I'd finally be a cop. Nicole hid it well but she was worried about this. My mother wasn't as adept at hiding her worry.
"Would you at least try to act like you want to be here," Nicole said as we pulled up to the Mellow residence. It was some house just like Bear's family's house. I had never been inside before, only having dropped Calvin off a few times but I assumed that it looked just as fancy inside. This area earned the name that Trey and Liberty had for it.
"Nicole hon, I'm tired. I just want to go home and go to sleep," I told her which was the truth.
"Okay then. We'll just wait here for your parents to get here and you can tell your mother that you're tired and that you wanna go home and sleep," she said knowing full well that that wasn't gonna fly with my mother.
"I hate you," I said with a scowl.
"I know, and I'm going to remember that for when you aren't tired," she said making me realize I'd said the wrong thing.
"What I meant was..." I started but before she cut in.
"No no no, you're tired," she said with that fake smile that let me know I was up shit creek before she got out of my car. I didn't get to dwell on this though as the rest of my family pulled up in the SUV being driven by dad.
"Hey you two, oh Nicole that dress is so pretty," ma said as she came around to us. Dad, Trey, Calvin and the twins piled out of the SUV about that time while the two women fussed over each other.
"Oh Zane, your suit is so pretty," Trey said sarcastically.
"Ooh yeah and I just love what you've done with your hair," Calvin added.
"Oh stop, this old thing. I just pulled the first thing out of my closet and threw it on," I said playing along.
"I don't know what you all are talking about. I think I'm the one that looks positively divine," dad said joining in. We then proceeded to make a mock fuss like ma and Nicole had done.
"Boys are so weird," Cara said to Carly.
"Yeah, really weird," Carly said in return.
"That's a good thing to remember for the rest of your lives girls... boys are so weird," ma said as she and Nicole gave us the stink eye before walking up to the front door and ringing the bell with the twins following along. We followed after them laughing along the way.
"Hello all, come on in," Mrs. Mellow said as she opened the door. I had only seen her a few times when dropping Calvin off or when she was involved with whatever ma and Mrs. Davidson were up to.
"Hello Deanne, thanks for inviting us to your party," ma said as we all walked in.
"Well no thanks needed. I'm just sorry I waited until the last minute, but I wasn't sure the party was going to happen for sure until yesterday and then I was scrambling to get everything in order. Thank goodness I have a son-in-law that's excellent at organization," she said with a genuine smile on her face. She seemed to me like a person who smiled a lot and had a good disposition.
"I didn't know Sean and Alex had a sister," I leaned in and whispered to Trey.
"They don't," he replied after looking at me weirdly for a few seconds.
"Huh," I said because I honestly didn't get it.
"Hello Trey, Calvin, Evan, and you too girls," Mrs. Mellow said speaking to everyone but Nicole and me as she hadn't met us yet. They all greeted her.
"Deanne, this is our oldest son Zane and his girlfriend Nicole," ma said introducing us.
"Well nice to meet you two as well," she said as she shook hands with first me and then Nicole.
"Thank you, and the same to you," Nicole said for the both of us as women are known to do.
"So you are going to be a cop? That's very admirable of you to want to protect and serve the public," she said making me feel all shy.
"Thank you Mrs. Mellow," I said.
"Mom, Mrs. Hilliard wants to know what you're going to do," a guy who I hadn't seen before said as he walked up. He was a big guy who even I could admit knew how to dress to impress.
"Oh thank you sweetie. I'll be right there," she said and I could tell it kind of embarrassed him.
"Mom, how many times do I have to tell you not to "sweetie" me in front of people," the guy said looking a bit embarrassed.
"Oh hush up you," Mrs. Mellow replied and I heard Trey and Calvin snicker.
"What's so funny Trey?" he asked.
"Nothing, sweetie," Trey responded smartly with an amused look on his face.
"Is that right?" the guy said before fixing Trey with a smoldering look that I'm a bit reluctant to say even affected me a bit. I know I heard Nicole swoon and even my sisters, which was a little creepy. I also heard Trey make an audible gulp.
"Stop that you. Wayne is gonna get you one of these days," Mrs. Mellow said and I guess with all the evidence that this was the third Mellow brother, Marcus.
"Oh he'll be fine," Marcus said.
"Then you better stop before Bear sees you," she warned jokingly.
"I ain't scared. I can take him. All he has on me is height," Marcus said and I could see indeed that for the most part that he and Bear were almost neck and neck for muscle mass, Bear was taller. They also had a similar way about them although Marcus had a more dominant feel to him. He came off as the definition of the term `Alpha Male'.
"You just keep telling yourself that puppy," said another guy with startling blue eyes.
"Uh, excuse me but did he just say puppy?" dad asked as Trey and Calvin were unsuccessfully trying to hold in laughter.
"What was that you were saying now, sweetie?" Mrs. Mellow asked amused.
"You two are gonna kill me," Marcus said while holding his hand up to his face.
"Well I think everyone here knows each other except you two," Mrs. Mellow said meaning me and Nicole. "Marcus and Wayne, this is Zane and Nicole," she added and Wayne shook our hands first, although he looked a tad bit stiff when he got to me. Marcus shook Nicole's hand and was smiling before he got to me and his look turned serious and his grip on my hand became painful.
"Nice to meet you Zane," he said in a cold tone. I looked around and everyone was looking at us with differing expressions.
"Uh yeah, you too," I said while trying to hide that he was crushing my dammed hand.
"I hear things between you and Trey are better," he said still in that icy tone.
"Yeah, better than ever," I said while trying to subtly free my hand from the painful vice grip he had on it.
"That's good. I hope they stay that way as we wouldn't want something unfortunate to happen," he said in an obvious threat while trapping me in that very intimidating piercing gaze. I had to save face though so I did my best not to let on that I was intimidated in the least.
"Yeah, we wouldn't want anything like that," I responded in a matching cold tone and piercing stare. Mine wasn't quite as potent as his but I held my own.
"Are you two done with your dick measuring contest yet?" Trey asked no longer looking amused but everyone else was, except ma.
"Trey, watch your mouth," ma said sharply.
"Well that's what they were doing. Now if you all will excuse me, I'm gonna go and find Sean or something. Thank you again for inviting us, Mrs. Mellow," Trey said.
"No problem honey. This is the most fun I've had all night," she said with an amused look on her face. Trey nodded before he left followed by Calvin.
"Don't ever change, puppy," Wayne said before kissing Marcus on the cheek and leaving with his own amused expression. It was weird to see another gay couple aside from Trey and Bear show affection for each other, but I didn't find it disgusting or anything so I was glad for that at least.
Marcus finally released my hand and it took all my willpower not to grasp and rub my hand, but I had to show that it didn't affect me in public. He said he had to take care of something before leaving. Dexter Mellow showed up just as he was leaving and was introduced to me and Nicole before he and dad walked off to talk about whatever.
Mom also walked off with Mrs. Mellow and I saw them meet up with Bear's mom and some other ladies and start talking about something. The girls ran off to talk to some other girls who looked to be their age.
"So you all finally made it," I head in a voice that turned out to be Ivy.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Well I'm the plus one of a guy who works at my firm who apparently knows Dexter Mellow," she explained before her and Nicole started talking and walked off too leaving me alone to think about things I didn't need to be thinking about.
TREY'S POV
Well I had wondered what would happen when Zane and Marcus finally came face to face and that was it. I guess it wasn't really all that bad, especially since there was a time when I would have wished a lot worse happened to Zane than the nearly crushed hand I was sure he had.
I had to admit though that Marcus had this way of dominating a situation and it was at times like that when I wondered how Wayne had held out so long without just jumping his bones, but who was I to talk when I had my own version of a man like Marcus and I too had taken the Wayne route and waited until Bear had come to me because even now I know that we probably wouldn't have happened if it was up to me.
"Penny for your thoughts," I heard in a deep baritone that had the ability to make me do almost anything next to my ear. I smelled him which was a combination of his cologne mixed with his natural male scent that had me struggling to keep the boner that wanted to pop up under wraps.
"Hey Bear," I said as I stood in place because I didn't want to turn around and lose the war I was having with my libido when I saw him.
"Don't you want to turn around and see me?" he asked with a seductive yet amused tone in his voice. The dammed bastard must have sensed my predicament.
"Not particularly," I said in what I heard was a strained voice.
"Are you sure, because I think I look exceptionally hot tonight," he bragged. I decided to try and get ahold of the situation while at the same time messing with him.
"Gee, it must have taken you hours to scrape off all the ugly," I said while smirking at my perceived wit.
"Do you think I'm ugly?" Bear asked in that same tone he'd been using since he came up to me, while gently pressing himself against my back. I could feel his strong hard body up against me and it wasn't doing a thing to help me.
"No," I answered hoarsely.
"Good boy," he said before he shocked me by actually having the nerve to lick my ear in the middle of a semi-formal party and walked away. He didn't pass in front of me so I was saved from having to see him while I was so turned on. After about a minute I finally turned and I was looking right at Bear's dad who was standing less than three feet from me.
"Uh, Mr. Davidson, how long were you standing there?" I asked reading his answer.
"Long enough. That was certainly... interesting," he said with an unreadable face before a slightly amused look crossed his face and he chuckled before walking away. I walked up to the bar which I saw was being tended by two guys, one of which was Leo, my brother's friend, and the other was his brother who I hadn't seen before.
"Hey Trey, how's it hanging?" Leo asked.
"Don't ask," I said and he laughed a bit.
"That bad huh," he said and I just rolled my eyes which made him laugh again. One of the guests walked up and got a drink.
"So what are you doing here?" I asked him as I eyed the alcohol and thought about going back on my vow to stay away from the stuff.
"Well my bro got hired to be the bartender for this party and I was forced to come along," he said gesturing toward his brother to his right who was serving a guest.
"You mean you begged me when you found out that Ivy was gonna be here," his brother said with a smirk.
"Shut up with your mouth," Leo responded.
"Ivy's here?" I asked as I didn't know she was invited or that the Mellows knew who she was to invite her. Leo gestured toward her standing off to the side talking to Nicole and Jessica.
"So I see that you and Bear were having a little moment," he said with a teasing smile.
"You saw that huh?" I asked feeling slightly embarrassed.
"Yup, and I also saw his dad watching you two," he said not losing the smile.
"How did he look?" I asked because I was curious what he thought of his son being publicly affectionate with another man.
"Well, he was watching intently like he was studying you two or something. He didn't look angry or disgusted or anything, just curious if anything," he said and I didn't know what that meant so I just put it out of my mind.
"I'm gonna go before I offer you things to get a drink," I said before stepping away from the bar.
"What kind of things?" Leo asked as he leaned on the bar with a sexy smirk on his face.
"Things that would get you killed were they ever found out by Bear," I said before walking away with a smile at having got him.
"Not cool man," he said after me.
I walked around and saw my friends talking to different people and I even spied Bear and I was glad that I didn't turn around when he was talking to me as I would have jumped him right there with how good he looked.
"Hello Mr. President," I heard from behind me and I knew it was Tony.
"Hello Tony, how have you been?" I asked him after I turned to greet him.
"I've been fine," he said while looking at me with that flirtatious smile he always had for me.
"That's good," I said not knowing what else to say and feeling a bit awkward.
"Listen, I was wondering if maybe you'd like to... hang out sometime?" he asked and while it seemed innocent enough on the surface, I read between the lines and heard what he was really saying.
"Sure I'd love to. Just let me check with Bear to make sure we're both free," I told him.
"Uh, I meant just the two of us," he said like I knew he did.
"I know you did, but I'm not in the mood to be seen anywhere with another gay guy by anyone who might see me that goes to our school as I'm already the subject of discussion for too many people," I told him honestly.
"Trey I didn't think-" he started before I cut in.
"It was nice seeing you again Tony," I said politely before walking away. I suddenly had to use the bathroom so I sought out Sean which didn't take long as he was with Carter and a few other teammates of his. When I walked up they clammed up though when they were all laughing about something.
"Sean, can I ask you something?" I asked making sure to stand far enough away from these guys who were, except for Sean and Carter, eyeing me warily like I was some kind of gay virus carrier and I would infect them if I got too close.
"Sure buddy, what's up?" Sean asked, but not moving from his position.
"Over here," I beckoned and he looked briefly curious before coming over to me.
"What's with the standoffishness?" he asked looking confused.
"Those guys were looking at me like I was gonna infect them with fag or something if I got too close," I told him.
"Don't be silly. Come on over and you'll see," he said but I ignored him because he was wrong.
"Can I use your bathroom?" I asked.
"Sure," he said but I could tell he didn't want to let it go about his friends.
"Thanks," I said and took off before he could say anything.
I headed upstairs and went to Sean's room. I chose his room as he had told me that it was common knowledge that his room was off limits when it came to parties and while this was a different kind of party, there were teenagers here and I didn't want to run into anyone around a bathroom.
I went through his room and caught a glimpse of a big framed picture of him and Justice with her sitting in his lap and him with a big goofy grin on his face. It was in that picture that I saw just how much he loved her because while she was looking at the camera, he was looking at her.
I then remembered what I was in there for and speeded towards the toilet and unzipped and started draining the tank. I got finished and was about to tuck myself away when I felt someone step up behind me, wrap their arms around me and grab my dick. I felt a tongue lick me behind my ear and I couldn't stop the moan that escaped me.
"Bear, what are you doing?" I asked through shallow breaths.
"What makes you think I'm Bear?" he asked as he continued to lick and suck behind my ear while he firmly gripped my now fully erect dick in his big hand.
"First of all... I know... your voice... and secondly, I know your... your touch," I managed to say.
"Good answer," he rumbled in my ear before he spun me around fast and pushed me up against the sink, dropped to his knees and took me in before I could say anything.
I gripped the edge of the sink so tight that I thought I'd break it. I was so turned on that I knew I wouldn't be able to last long. Before I knew it, I was blowing my load and Bear took it all. As I calmed down Bear cleaned me up good and put everything back in place before he stood with a proud smile on his face.
"You're crazy," I said still a bit breathless.
"I know, I'm a wild man baby," he said before he kissed me and I could taste my jizz on his tongue which made me hot again.
I started to drop to my knees but he pulled me back up and told me he didn't expect me to reciprocate. He said he just wanted to give me an apology gift and boy was it a gift. He then kissed me again briefly before leaving the bathroom.
I waited a minute before I calmed down before I too left the bathroom and Sean's room. I headed for the kitchen because I wanted to go outside and get some air. I stopped though when I passed a hallway where I thought I heard my name mentioned. I stopped and peeked around the corner and I saw 3 girls who I recognized as cheerleaders standing and talking when I heard my name again. I ducked back against the wall and listened.
"I'm just saying with what happened with Todd we should take precautions," I heard from one of the three girls. The three of them were each the girlfriend of one of Bear's teammates.
"Well I for one can't truly blame him as Todd is hot," said another of the girls.
"Beth, be serious. First Bear turns gay and then Carter, and now Todd. I just think we should make sure our guys stay away from Trey," the first girl said.
"I agree. I don't want my man to suddenly turn into a cocksucker like Drake said," said the third girl. I had been feeling good but I was confronted with what I couldn't escape. The stupid things people thought of me because Drake just had to run his mouth.
"You three are so stupid. There must not be a single brain cell between the three of you," I heard in a surprising voice. I chanced another look around the corner and sure enough it was Alicia standing there now with them.
"What did you say?" the first girl asked with an attitude.
"See what I mean? That right there is why I said you can't have more than one brain cell between the three of you or you would know what I meant," Alicia said and I was stunned.
"What did you say?" the girl asked again a bit more aggressively.
"What I said is, Trey didn't turn Bear gay. He was always gay and just didn't know it, but anyone who really paid attention to him would have known he's always been in love with Trey," Alicia said and I was still stunned that she was sort of defending me.
"Well what does that say about you then Alicia? He goes out on one date with you and the next thing anyone knows he comes charging out of the closet. What did you do to him?" the third girl said and normally I would have found that funny, but not this time.
"I didn't do anything to him," Alicia said defensively.
"Maybe that's it. He took one look at you and decided he'd rather suck cock than screw you," the first girl said.
"Oh, how clever of you Lindy. You know, I wasn't happy when I stopped cheerleading, but now that I see what the squad's intelligence has devolved into, I'm happy I got out when I did," Alicia said smartly to the first girl.
"Don't you mean when you were kicked out?" the second girl whose name was apparently Beth asked.
"Whatever. You three are so stupid to be listening to Drake Franklin. I mean he's just a jilted lover who's mad because his girlfriend chose her gay friend over him. Hell with the way he's acting in regard to Bear, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a thing for Bear himself," she said and I was again shocked as I didn't know anyone else saw that.
"Well that would really go into the theory then wouldn't it? After all he spent years hanging out with Trey," Lindy said.
"You know what, I'm done trying to have an intelligent conversation with you airheads when it's more than obvious that I'd have better success trying to do so with a sponge," Alicia said before I heard her walk away. A few seconds later she passed me but didn't see me as I was up against the wall.
I heard one of the girls say "bitch" before they too walked toward me. They however did see me and the Beth girl at least had the decency to look guilty as I'm sure they realized I was listening. The other two bitches just looked at me before walking away with Beth trailing behind them a few seconds later. I headed back toward the bar to convince Leo to give me that drink.
ZANE'S POV
I wasn't having fun. For one thing, I was tired and I just wanted to get some sleep. For another, my hand was aching and I was plagued by emotions that I tried so hard to get rid of. I had made a promise to Trey that I'd stop dwelling on what I'd done but it was hard not to with so many reminders. There wasn't a day that went by that I couldn't get the image of Trey's bruised and bloody body out of my head.
I remembered hearing him plead with me to stop, I remembered feeling my fist and my feet connect with different parts of his body. I remembered his friends trying to stop me and I remembered hearing my mother's horror filled broken voice as she pleaded with him to wake up.
I couldn't shake the memories even when I wanted to. I know that they were my punishment for what I'd done but I wished sometimes that I could get them out of my head. When that didn't happen I decided to go the other way and wallow in my brutality.
I had been doing good though to rid myself of the demons that hounded me but meeting Marcus and seeing his protective nature over someone who wasn't even his brother drove home how bad a brother I'd been. I took his threat seriously because the look in his eyes told me that he didn't care that I was about to be a cop, because he'd risk jail time to protect my brother. I both hated and respected him for that.
"You seem to be doing some heavy thinking there," I heard someone say. I turned and saw that it was Marcus.
"Yeah, I got a lot on my mind," I told him which was the truth.
"Yeah I imagine with the whole police training thing," he said while leaning against the post of the house. We were currently in the huge backyard of the Mellow residence.
"Yeah," I said noncommittally as that wasn't all I had on my mind.
"Look, I'm sorry if I came off a little a... aggressive. It's just that I saw some of what Trey was going through trying to deal with being gay, and with being gay myself, I really sympathized with him," Marcus said and again his words hit home with me only in a different way.
"I just never anticipated it. Of all the things that you could have told me that I'd find out about Trey, being gay wasn't the very last thing on that list because it wasn't even on the list as far as I was concerned," I spoke finally saying something out loud that I'd only thought before.
"Let me tell you a story," he said with a small smile on his face.
He then proceeded to tell me about how he had met Wayne, how they had grown up together, about how he'd always felt something for Wayne, but was unsure of what it was until Wayne had confessed his love for him the night before their graduation from high school.
He told me about his reaction and about the years of separation and how he had become dead inside without Wayne in his life. He told me about how he had finally manned up and showed Wayne how he felt about him at their college graduation ceremony, and finally about the rejection that Wayne had experienced from his parents.
I listened to his story and it was remarkable how similar in some ways that they were to Trey and Bear. I listened to his story and what I'd heard was a love story that was just as touching as if it had been a heterosexual couple and I began to really see that there was no difference between the two.
"It's really uncanny how many parallels you can draw between your story and Trey and Bear's story," I said still mulling over what he'd told me.
"My story isn't done yet. I plan on adding a lot more to mine and I'm sure Trey feels the same about his," Marcus said before finishing off his drink.
"So I guess that Trey and Bear are gonna get married right out of college, adopt a kid, and live happily every after?" I asked in a mostly joking manner.
"What, do you think we're the prototype for them or something?" he asked with an amused smirk.
"I'd say less prototype, more blueprint," I said finding myself funny.
"Look, I don't know if Trey and Bear's lives is gonna continue to line up similarly to our lives. Do I think it's weird, yes I do. I also think it's weird that both of my younger brothers are best friends with both of yours, and that each set of friends are the same age," Marcus said before he walked over to a bench and sat down. I walked over and joined him as I was tired of standing up myself.
"Does that mean we have to become besties now?" I asked and he chuckled.
"Well now that's up to you. I would say that that'd require you to be gay, but there is already a gay Healey brother so that quota is already filled," he said before laughing at his own supposed joke.
"Well now let's explore that for a minute. If I were to be gay, would I meet someone like Wayne?" I asked jokingly.
"You liked his eyes didn't you? I can tell because I saw the look on your face when you saw them," he said looking highly amused with a wide smile that said how proud he was to have Wayne.
"No comment," I said, a little embarrassed at having been caught.
"Well I don't know about the Wayne thing, but speaking on another, have you ever had a craving for a hot dog?" he asked with a big cheesy grin.
"Well maybe once, but while hot dogs may be nice, I'd miss tacos way too much," I said before we both cracked up.
"What's so funny?" I heard before we both looked over and saw Wayne standing with Nicole and Ivy. Wayne looked curious, Nicole looked amused, and Ivy looked confused.
"Oh hey babe, it's nothing. We were just talking about food," Marcus said as he walked over to Wayne and kissed him on the cheek.
"Food... you were talking about food?" Wayne said looking highly suspicious.
"You bet," Marcus said before looking at me and winking and telling me that he'd see me later as he was in the mood for a snack before smirking and dragging Wayne back into the house.
"So I see you're having a good time out here," Nicole said as she walked over and took a seat next to me.
"It was alright I guess," I said even though I'd really had fun talking to Marcus. The two of us really seemed to hit it off once the tension was done and it really drove home the fact that you're not supposed to let your hang-ups about a particular thing keep you from trying to make a new friend.
"I feel like I just walked into an episode of the Twilight Zone. I think I'm gonna go back inside and come out again just to make sure things are right," Ivy said sarcastically.
"Very funny Ivy," I told her before we three walked back inside the house.
TREY'S POV
Leo was not my friend anymore. He had refused to give me that drink I'd asked him for. In his defense though it was probably because his brother was watching to see if he'd actually serve alcohol to a minor, like that would have been my first time having it.
I was given a soda instead and sent on my way. I found my way to the only room in the house that seemed to be avoided by the guests which was the informal living room. I sat in there and thought about what those girls had said. I knew that people were thinking it, but to actually hear it out loud was quite a different thing.
"Hey boo-boo," Liberty said surprising me as she and Justice dropped down on either side of me on the sofa.
"Hey," I said and I hated how down my voice sounded.
"What's wrong?" Justice asked.
"Are you two worried about me?" I asked as I wondered if they too had ever had the same concerns.
"Of course we are," Liberty said and while she meant something different, in my mind at that moment I took it as confirmation to my worries.
"Oh," I said feeling depressed.
"Wait, are we worried about what?" Justice asked just as she would. She was the kind of person that wanted all the information before she weighed in on a topic.
"Are you worried about Sean and Christian being around me? You know, what Drake said," I told them.
"Are you serious? Trey, despite what you might think, you don't have any magical gay powers. Also, if Christian was gonna become gay by being exposed to another gay guy then he would have already been gay when I met him," Liberty said meaning that Christian already had a gay friend before we met him.
"Yeah and the same for Sean. If he was gonna "turn gay", like that is even possible, then he would be gay too with having a gay brother," Justice added.
"I just wish I could let this go. I hate that I grab on to things and can't let them go," I said voicing something that I had been feeling for a long time.
"I hate you let Drake influence your sense of self so often," Justice said speaking a truth that hurt, but that I think I needed to hear.
"Justice," Liberty admonished.
"What? I didn't say anything that he doesn't know himself. Look at him, he knows this," Justice defended. Liberty did look at me and her expression grew troubled.
"Trey, listen to me. Drake is a tool who cares for nobody but himself. I hate so much that it took me so long to stop overlooking the truly sadistic person he is. He is not a good person and you are so fuck him," Liberty said.
"Not even in my nightmares," I said and they both laughed.
"There you go," Justice said after they calmed down.
We talked for a few more minutes before our group started congregating in the room with us. Before long we were joined by other people who went to school with us. I moved away from them though as I didn't want to be around any of them. Bear wasn't having that though as he pulled me back to the center of the group that was gathered around him and the other jocks.
It was obvious that the people who weren't a part of our group weren't all that happy about it, especially when Bear pulled me to sit close to him and put his arm around me. I just decided to tune them out and listen to my friends.
Alicia surprised me when she walked up and asked to talk to me alone. Everyone's eyes were on us as it was common knowledge that the two of us hated each other. I decided to talk to her if for no other reason than to get away from the awkwardness.
When we got alone she surprised me again by handing me a drink and saying that she saw that I wanted to get away so she decided to help me. I asked her how she got the drink and she said not to worry about it. Now normally I would be wary of drinking anything that Alicia offered me, but I didn't think she's try to poison me with my family there, including my brother who was gonna be a cop in a week.
I avoided that room for the rest of the night until we got ready to leave. Bear pulled me aside before I left and asked what Alicia wanted all that time and I told him that it was council business so I couldn't tell him. I know he didn't believe me but he chose not to comment. He gave me a quick kiss and we left for home.
After I got undressed and got into bed I got several texts from Bear. He said that he knew I wasn't talking to Alicia all that time and that no matter what anyone else thought or said that he loved me and always would. I already knew that but it was good to hear, or rather read. I sent him back a single word text... Always.
To be continued....

I have to say that I'm incredibly sorry about this extremely long delay in the release of this chapter. Things have been hectic in my life lately, most notably is that I have a sick relative that I've had to help out a lot so that's taken up a lot of my time. All I can do is apoligize and promise to try my best to have the next chapter out before the end of March.
Thank you to all of you who are reading my story and have taken the time to email me to let me know what you think of it. I appreciate all of the comments that I've gotten and I look forward to them. Send any comments good or bad to thestoryguy9783@gmail.com. I haven't forgotten about my blg or the second chapter of my Superhero series. I will have something up soon.

Editor's Note:
I know this was a long awaited chapter guys but as you can probably guess life can get pretty hectic, but it was well worth the wait.
Drake messed up another persons life like so many other people and what's worse is people are actually listening to the idiot. One of the bigger surprises is Alicia coming to Trey's defense when those girls were talking about Trey.
Zane and Marcus finally have a face to face, but all turns out okay except for Zane's hand that is.
Just try to be patient with us guys, and we will get the chapters to you as soon as possible. Let us know how we are doing and how much you like the story, you can reach Nicky at the email above and reach me at jd.kaster1987@gmail.com. And let me know if you guys notice any grammer errors that I might have missed.
Until the next chapter, John
