"Edward Smythe, you constantly amaze me."
"So, I don't know if I'm ready to return the favor, but we need to get you off now." He sounded like a man on a mission.
Teddy was a little embarrassed, "Um, I came from giving you head. Never had that happen before, but then again I don't know if I've ever been that excited before either."
"Guess I'll have to make it up to you."
"Trust me, you can, anytime." Teddy set up, "So, you wanna take a shower or just sleep?"
"Sleep, we can shower together in the morning."
Teddy shucked off his underwear and laid on his side, as Edward spooned up behind him wrapping his big arms around the smaller man. With the exhaustion caused by the day's emotions and their first sexual experience together within a few minutes they were both fast asleep.

Edward was awakened by the feeling of someone moving in bed with him. When he opened his eyes, he was still holding Teddy closely. He also noticed he was hard as a rock again, and it was pressed right between the cheeks of Teddy's firm ass. His face broke out in a smile as the thoughts of the night before went through his mind again. It was then he notice that Teddy was stirring and Edward kissed him lightly on the back of neck.
"Morning, babe."
Teddy snuggled back into Edward, "Good morning, what a way to wake up. I could learn to get used to this very quickly." Teddy then noticed Edward's state of arousal pressing against his ass. "I think we need to get in the shower, before I show you just what to do with that."
"Do you remember what I said about taking it slow yesterday?"
"Of course, I'm just playing." Teddy felt bad for joking about it.
"Well, forget I fucking said it. I thought about it last night after you fell asleep. I've never felt more comfortable and excited with anyone in my entire life." To make his point, Edward ground his dick harder into Teddy.
"Oh my lord, you want to fuck me?" Ted tried to make his voice sound shocked and disgusted.
It was too late, Edward knew by the way Teddy was moving his ass that he wanted it as bad as he did. "Well, if you don't want to, I just thought..."
John's knock at the door ended their playing, "Hey guys, you up?"
Edward reached around and grabbed Teddy's swollen cock, "Oh yeah, we're both up John. Come on in."
Teddy couldn't help but laugh as Edward hugged him tighter to his body.
John walked in and instantly smiled. The sight of these two men in bed together warmed his heart. "Laura wants to pick the boys up and go out to eat breakfast. Do you two want to come?"
Edward took charge again, "Sure John. We need to take a shower though, we got enough time?"
"Yeah, we just got up ourselves. Take your time and we'll meet you downstairs when you're ready."
After John had shut the door, Edward started to pull away to get up, and Ted reached around and grabbed him holding him in place. "Come on, just five more minutes."
"No can do babe." For the first time Edward used his `work' voice, "Move your ass!" He jumped from the bed and started towards the bathroom.
Teddy rolled over to take in the sight of Edward's naked ass as it moved. He hadn't gotten a good look at it last night, but now that he did it was nothing short of magnificent in his opinion. "How the fuck did I get so lucky?"
Edward turned and looked towards Teddy, "Did you say something, babe?"
"No, just talking to myself."
Edward grabbed his erect cock and wagged it at Teddy. "I'm pretty lucky too and if you hurry up, I'll let you wash this for me." There was that mischievous grin again.
Teddy didn't need to be told twice, and he practically leapt from the bed and ran into the bathroom. Once the water had heated up and they had climbed in. After they were wet, Edward used his large body to block the spray and he started to soap up Teddy with shower gel. The feeling of Edward's hands on his body made Teddy even more excited than he was last night. Teddy was doing the same for Edward, and he took extra time washing Edward's swollen member. Even what had happened last night, he was enjoying just feeling it in his hands.
Edward leaned his head close to Teddy's ear and whispered, "Turn around."
"Ed..." Ted started to speak, before Edward placed a single finger over his lips.
"Don't worry, I can wait for that. I just need... to wash your back."
Ted turned around and Edward moved behind him, and soaped up and washed Teddy's back and then his ass. He watched as Teddy moaned when his finger ran across Teddy's hole while he was exploring Teddy's ass. He didn't want to lose control, so Edward decided to take a different approach. He stepped up closer and his soaped up cock slid easily between Teddy's thighs. Then he slid his right hand around and wrapped it around Ted's swollen seven inches and his left hand started to roam around and finally started to play with Teddy's nipples. As Edward started to stroke his right hand, he brought his mouth to Teddy's sensitive neck and started to kiss and nibble. All the while he was moving his hips and all of the sensations were overwhelming Teddy. He could feel the head of Edward's cock rubbed against his balls and his knees suddenly got weak. He pressed back against Edward for support. He wrapped one hand around Edward's arm that was holding him, and the other hand was on Edward's ass feeling the muscles as Edward was thrusting.
"Oh my... god... baby... " Teddy's voice was horse and his moans were growing as Edward picked up his pace. Edward tightened his grip around Teddy's chest and continued his stroking. After a few minutes, the feelings became too much for Teddy to control, he could feel his climax building quickly. "Baby, I'm going to..." He finished his sentence with just a moan as he shot his load against the shower wall. He couldn't remember the last time he had cum that hard. As his orgasm ended he could feel Edward's cock swell and then he felt Edward's hot load hit the back of his balls.
After Teddy was finally able to stand on his own he turned to look up at Edward, "That was something else babe."
Edward leaned down and kissed Teddy, it was a soft wet long kiss and about caused Ted's legs to give out again. "That was a little preview of later. Wanna get my back so we can get out of here?"
"Yes, sir." Teddy saluted which caused Edward to laugh.
"We need to change you to British style babe."
Once out of the shower the two took great pleasure in drying each other off, it was a new experience and allowed them to again explorer each other's bodies. They stood next to each other while they shaved with a little hip bumping to get an advantage in mirror space.
While standing in front of the mirror, after they brushed their teeth, Teddy looked at his neck and noticed something that made him laugh. "What the hell is this?" He asked Edward as he pointed to the mark.
"Love bite, babe. Wanted to make sure I marked you somehow." Edward said it in a serious tone, but then that mischievous grin came back, before he started laughing, "Sorry about that, didn't realize I was doing it so hard."
"I think your mind was on something else. I'll forgive you, this time." That brought another laugh to both men. "I'm going to have to wear a collared shirt for a few days, cause if John sees this I'll never hear the end of it."
"I have just the shirt for you to wear." Edward said as he walked back into the bedroom.
Teddy followed behind Edward and went over to his own clothes and started to find something to wear for the day. Teddy was pulling on a pair of khaki cargo shorts when he was kit in the head by a flying shirt. Removing it from his head he saw the maroon polo shirt and the embroidered regimental crest with the words "HOUSEHOLD CALVARY" underneath.
"Are you sure about this? What if we run into someone you know while we are out?"
Edward finished putting on his shirt and walked over to Teddy. He placed his large hands on either side of Ted's face, and pulled him into a quick kiss. "Babe, you don't need to worry about that. I'm not in the US military. Gays and lesbians have been allowed to serve openly in our military for years. I have a few troopers who are gay. In fact I'm pretty sure my orderly is, even though he's never said anything."
"I just don't want to cause any problems for you."
"I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm a big boy." It was said with a large grin as Edward flexed his bicep. "I can take care of myself, and besides I'm not going to have any problems with my superiors or my troopers."
"Well ok then." Teddy slid the polo shirt over his head, and immediately could smell Edward on the shirt. It was a little large on him, but it still fit well.
Edward turned Ted so he was facing him directly. He smiled at him and gave him a once over, "Looks good on you babe."
"Edward, what is an orderly?"
"Huh? Oh, officers get help when we dress in our state kit. The enlisted man who helps us is called an orderly."
"Ah, ok. Didn't know that."
"There is going to be a lot to learn, for both of us."
"You got that right. We better hurry up before Laura sends John to get us."
Once finished dressing they walked down the stairs into the living room. Laura and John were already dressed and waiting on one of the couches. Laura looked up and smiled, "Well, good morning, don't you two look good."
"Thanks, La. So, where are we going for breakfast?"
The trip to pick up the boys was short and after they were belted in their car seats they started stories from their night staying with the Anderson's son Nathan. They had obviously enjoyed themselves and their laughter was contagious.
As they were getting out of the car J. Christopher's, Dylan was in Ted's arms with his face buried in his neck when he suddenly pulled the collar away from Ted's neck.
"Uncle Teddy, what is that?" He voice was a little loud and sounded panicky.
Laura, who was talking next to Ted, leaned over and locked at Ted's neck. "John, I think we need a doctor over here. This looks serious." Trying as hard as she could, she couldn't keep herself from giggling as she said it. "Could be skin cancer."
Edward was now full on laughing at the look on Teddy's face. John got closer and looked inside the collar of Ted's shirt.
"Theodore James Jackson... that is a hickey!" John tried to sound like a protective father, but he burst out laughing as soon as it was out of his mouth.
For his part Teddy was the only one not laughing yet. John walked over to Edward and high fived him, and that was all it took for everyone to burst out laughing. Once they recomposed themselves they headed inside to eat.
Breakfast was a continuation of stories from the boys, interrupted as Edward and Teddy made sure that they ate. Dylan wanted to sit next to Ted, and although Matthew at first was upset he seemed to be in heaven sitting next to Edward. Ted took every chance he could to watch Edward interacting with Matthew. If this was any indication of the love he was capable of giving Teddy knew that his life would be full of love.
As they were driving back to the house, Edward's cell phone rang. He looked at the caller ID, and quickly answered, "Hello, Bess. How's my little girl?"
He had a hard time hearing the voice of the crying child. "Daddy, I don't know where mommy is."
"What do you mean you don't know where she is?" The panic in his voice made everyone look at him, and the boys stopped talking.
"She went out last night and never came home."
"Everything will be ok, don't worry. Bess, are you alone?"
"No, Madeline is here."
"Ok, sweetie, let me talk to Madeline."
Sensing the tension building in Edward, Teddy reached over and placed his hand on his thigh. Edward looked over at him, and mouthed "Something is wrong at home."
"Captain Smythe, I'm sorry but I'm getting very worried, and so was Elizabeth."
"It's ok, Madeline. I'm in the States right now. Have you called the police?"
"Not yet. I was afraid to."
"It's ok, I will take care of it and I'll call you back shortly."
He flipped his phone shut and turned to Teddy. "Mary went out last night and never came home."
"Crap. What can we do?"
"I'm going to call a friend with the Metropolitan Police and see if he can help. Just cross your fingers babe."
Edward flipped through his contacts and hit the send button. It only took two rings before the call was answered.
"Royal Protection, Inspector Price."
"Tony, it's Edward Smythe. I need your help."
While Edward was talking, Teddy reached into his pocket and retrieved his own phone as John looked at him in the mirror. Teddy looked up at John who smiled and nodded.
"Stephanie Wilson."
"Stephanie it's me." Teddy was trying to moderate his tone, but he knew his worry for Edward and Elizabeth was showing.
"Good morning, sir. Is something wrong?"
"Stephanie, I need the boys bring the 550 to Savannah, we'll be going to London."
"Right away, Mr. Jackson. Do you need me to do anything else?"
"Can you run by my house and grab my jump bags and have them put on the plane. Also, my work attaché needs to make it on the plane. I'm not sure how long I will be gone. Call the London Office and have someone get my flat ready for me."
"Yes sir, I'll take of it. Call me when you can, you have me worried now."
"Thank you, Stephanie. Just have a friend that's having some family problems."
"Do you want me to call you when I have everything ready?"
"Just call me when they're on the way so I'll know when to meet them. Stephanie... Thank you."
"Good bye, sir."
Edward was still talking on the phone when Teddy had finished. He was hoping Edward didn't hear the conversation, and the he thought `Well, this is going to be the first real test.'
"Thanks, Tony. Please call me when you can. I'm going to come home, but I have no idea how long it's going to take to find a flight and get home... I'll let you know... Ok, thanks again." He closed the phone just as John pulled into the driveway.
Edward reached over and grabbed Teddy's hand. "Babe, I need to go home. I'm sorry."
"I know, don't be sorry, you're being a good dad. Let's talk inside, while we pack." The comment made Edward's eyebrows rise. "If you think you're getting away that easy, you need to schedule an appointment with John." Teddy just smiled at him and opened his door.
Edward spent some time filling everyone in about the phone call from Elizabeth and also his call with Inspector Price. There were a couple questions asked about Mary by Laura and John, and before they knew it almost thirty minutes had passed. The men excused themselves and headed up stairs.
Once in the bedroom, Edward sat on the bed and put his face in his hands. "I feel so fucking useless."
Teddy sat beside him and rubbed his back, "Babe, it's not your fault this happened."
Edward lifted his head and kissed Teddy, "Thank you. I guess I need to find a flight. Are you sure you want to come with me?"
"Of course, I'm sure. But, don't call the airlines. I have the transportation taken care of already."
"How, you haven't called the airlines since we've been here."
"No I didn't. Do you need help packing? Is there anything left at the base we need to pick up?" Teddy started to stand when Edward reached up and pulled him back onto the bed next to him.
"Babe, how are we getting there?"
"The only way that we can get there quickly, without having to wait for a commercial flight... The soonest flight out of Atlanta will be this evening sometime and will get in sometime tomorrow morning, if we can even get a seat on it. Same thing for flights out of Orlando, if we can even make it there in time..."
Edward interrupted him, his voice a little more forceful. "Babe, you're rambling. How are we getting there?"
"One of the Jackson Global jets." Teddy braced for it and tried to read Edward's face, but his expression didn't change. He just sat there for a good minute or two without saying anything, waiting for the argument to begin.
"I think we need to really talk about money. But, that can wait... Thank you. I don't feel right about this, but I also know when to just shut my mouth and be thankful. I just feel like I'm taking advantage of you, we've only known each other..."
It was Teddy turn to interrupt, "Edward, listen to me. Whether we had known each other for three days or three years, it wouldn't change anything. You know how I feel about you, least I hope you do. If I can't help you when you need it, who the hell can I help?"
"Point taken, let's pack."
Both men started to pack their bags. As they were packing Teddy thought it was time to breach the subject he'd been thinking of since Edward got the phone call. "Edward, let me ask you something."
"Anything, babe."
"Do you want full custody of Elizabeth?"
"I would love it. But, not very realistic is it? I mean, my job doesn't really work well for a single parent. Why do you ask?"
"Because, I think you really need to try. I'm pretty sure we can get an emergency custody order for the time being, and then go back to court and get you full custody. It's something you need to think about though."
"I will, just not sure I can do it myself. How long do you think you'll be able to stay?"
"I already have a visa, and I've got two years before it expires. Is that long enough for you?"
"I know you can't stay the whole two years. It would be ace if you could stay a little while."
"Edward, I can stay as long as you want me to. Let's just see what happens, and we can talk about it when we get there. Hopefully we'll have some time after you get things settled down."
John and Laura walked into the room and Laura walked over and hugged Edward, "Do you need us to do anything?"
"Thank you, Laura. It would seem that Teddy has worked out our travel plans. Babe, can you think of anything?"
"Yeah, can you take us to the airport and drop us off. I should know shortly when the plane will be here. Also, can you guys keep an eye my car for me?"
"Of course, John will drive you, or we can all go. I'm sure the boys would love to see one of the jets again, you know how they are. If they already didn't love you so much, the toys you have would sure make you their favorite."
"It would be great if you could all come. Have you told them yet?"
"Yes, they're upset, but after some discussion they understand. We told them you needed to take Edward home because his little girl needed him." John then placed his hand on Teddy's shoulder, "You need to come when you can stay longer."
It made them both laugh, "I figured three days was enough of you."
Edward sat back on the bed, "I think I you should stay and I will just fly commercial. I feel like I'm taking you away from your family."
Laura sat down and placed her hand over his, "Edward, listen to me. You're not taking Teddy away from us. He'll be back, and I hope you'll come with him. Besides, do you really think he would stay here even if you flew commercial? If you do, you don't know him at all."
Edward smiled at her, "I know you're right. I'll make sure he comes back."
It was then Teddy's mobile rang, he answered it without even checking the caller ID "Ted Jackson."
"Mr. Jackson, they are on the way and are expecting to land in about one hour. Everything is ready with your flat. I've instructed them to go ahead and stock it up. Do you know how you want to handle transportation on the other end yet?"
"No, Stephanie let me call you from the air."
"Yes, sir. I'll be in the office, I'm driving in now. I thought I could handle things better from there."
"Thanks, remind me to give you a raise."
There was that laugh of hers again, "Don't worry about that, I'll just sign your name to the paperwork anyway. Please be careful, and my prayers are with your friend. Is he the one that's made you so happy?"
"You and that ESP, Steph. The answer is yes, but that's something we'll talk about later." Teddy walked into the bathroom and shut the door, "Steph, listen. When you get to the office, contact the head of the legal staff in London. Tell them I need to know if they can file for an emergency child custody order with the county court in London and then I'm going to need them to file for a permanent change of custody. If they can't, tell them to find someone who can and put them on stand-by. Go ahead and email me the information, so I can get on it once we're in the air."
"Of course, sir. I'll get on it as soon as I get there. Anything else?"
"No, that should do it. Thanks again."
"You're welcome, sir. Bye."
When Teddy walked out of the bathroom, only Laura was left. "Where are Edward and John?"
"They took the bags downstairs, are you ok?"
"Yeah, I just feel so bad for him. I wish I could do more."
"If I know you, you're doing more than he knows already."
Teddy thought to himself, `So, that is where the boys get that smile from.' "La, I'm going to do whatever it takes to make him happy."
She stood up and wrapped him in a hug, "I know you will sweetie. Just make sure you do a little to make yourself happy too."
"I will, La. But for once, I don't have to do anything to make me happy. He makes me happy just being around him. Let's go down stairs, we need to get everything loaded and head to the airport."
Laura's Tahoe with John driving pulled up in front of a nondescript hanger at Savannah International Airport. As they opened the doors to get out they could see landing lights approaching the runway. Teddy thought he recognized the lights and looked at his watch smiling, `Ten minutes early.'
Edward walked to stand next to Ted and looked to see where his attention was. "Are you sure about this, babe?"
Grabbing Edward's hand and looking directly into his eyes, he quietly said "I thought we covered this? I can get you home faster this way. Remember when you said you weren't going to run away because of money? Well, this is one of THOSE times. Now suck it up soldier boy." The last part was said with a smile on his face, and it made Edward laugh.
"My boyfriend and his toys." Edward said it as the wheels of the G550 touched down with a wisp of smoke.
Teddy did a double take on the comment, but instead of saying anything he turned towards John and Laura, "Thanks for driving us. I'll call you when we land in London."
"No problem Teddy." John then turned towards Edward and extended his hand, "Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family."
Instead of shaking John's hand, Edward pulled him into a hug, "Thanks mate. I can't tell you what you've done for me... for us."
John smiled and patted Edward on the back, before releasing him and hugging Ted. "I love you."
Laura was the next to get her hugs in, as the guys then hugged each of the twins. When they were both on the ground Ted kneeled to talk to them. "I love you both very much. I'm sorry I am leaving so soon, but I WILL be back."
Dylan was the first to answer, "We understand, make sure Mr. Edward's daughter is ok." Then he lowered his voice and leaned into Teddy's ear, "We really like him."
"He's nice, don't you like him? Do you think he'll visit us again?" Matthew was asking the question as he was looking over Ted's shoulder at the jet approaching.
"Yes, Matthew, I like him too. You'll see him again, I promise."
"That's great!" Matthew then leaned closer to Ted, "Uncle Teddy, you're so cool. You have a jet." The comment made Teddy laugh and he hugged both of them again.
The noise from the two engines on the approaching jet made talking with the boy anymore near impossible. As it came closer the pilot turned to the right exposing the passenger door to the group. As the engines were shutting down, lowering the noise level, the entry door opened and an attractive young man climbed down and walked towards them.
Ted walked towards the man as he extended his hand, "Good morning, Dustin. Is everything set?"
"Yes, Mr. Jackson. Jake and Mark are ready. Your jump bags are in the rear hold, and we're fully stocked for the flight."
"Excellent." He waived Edward over, "Dustin this is Edward Smythe, he'll be joining us on the flight."
"Good evening, Mr. Smythe. Dustin Boyd."
Edward shook hands with the man and was impressed by the strength of his grip. "Hello Dustin."
Dustin noticed John carrying bags from the car, "Mr. Hillsgrove, let me get those."
"It's ok Dustin. There's a few more in the car." He turned towards Ted, "I'll stick these in the back and you can get going."
Climbing onto a corporate jet for the first time was an experience for Edward. He felt thrilled and uncomfortable at the same time. Since he had declared his feelings for Teddy, he had come to understand the differences in their lives, even as he was realizing he was a complete person while he was with Teddy. He hadn't talked to him about that yet though, as much as Teddy was worried about being hurt, Edward had the same worries if not worse.
Edward could stand up completely, but just barely. The aircraft smelled of leather and a smell that Edward couldn't place, but he did know it was making him hungry. Teddy was right behind him as he looked around, "Keep going, this is the crew compartment."
Walking further towards the back of the plane, and through a doorway, they entered the main passenger compartment. There were several leather seats on each side of the jet, along with a large entertainment center and a table with four seats. Further back through another doorway Edward could see two couches.
"Babe, this is incredible."
"It's just a tool really. I travel a bunch for work and this saves time. It's the only way for me to work to my own schedule and not the airlines."
Teddy picked a seat at the four seat table facing the rear of the aircraft with Edward sitting across from him. Dustin appeared from the back of the plane and walked past them. About a minute later another man approached, this one wearing a white shirt and black pants. Edward got a good look at him, but since Teddy had his back to him he didn't see him approach. `Military.' Edward thought to himself.
"Mr. Jackson."
Teddy turned and extended his hand, "Jake, it's great to see you. Sorry to tear you guys away from home."
"No problem at all, sir. Mark and I love London." He then extended his hand towards Edward, "Jacob West, please call me Jake. I'm one of Mr. Jackson's personal pilots."
"Edward Smythe, I can't thank you enough for this."
"No problem sir. Just wanted to let you know that our flight is planned for just shy of 8 hours. I'll update you both once we get in the air, and we're going to try to make up all the time we can. I know Dustin will take good care of you both, but if there is anything we can do for you please let us know."
"Thank you again, Jake." Edward shook the man's hand again and turned to look at Ted who was on his laptop doing something.
Both men heard the passenger door close, and after a couple minutes Dustin appeared as the engines started. As the Gulfstream began to move, both men waved out the window to the twins and their parents who were standing there watching. As they moved onto the taxiway, Dustin was back and went over the safety information with both men. He then talked to Teddy about what food and drinks were available.
Edward reached out and held Teddy's hand on top of the table. He couldn't get over how quiet the inside of the plane was even with the engines going, and he looked out the window as they taxied towards the runway.
Ted leaned closer, "We'll see which one of the lunatics is flying this leg. I'll tell you by the takeoff."
Jake's voice came over the intercom, "Gentlemen, we are cleared for departure. Dustin grab a seat."
As they reached the runway, they turned onto it and stopped. Edward could hear the two Rolls Royce engines increase their power and the sound in the cabin increased. The brakes were straining against the raw power of the two turbofans. Once released the takeoff roll was impressively short, and they roared into the sky.
"That was Jake, all the way. He was a pilot in the Navy and to this day he still thinks he's flying off a damn carrier."
Edward laughed, and then looked out the window. He couldn't help but think about his daughter, and what she going through, at the same time he wondered what the hell was going on with his ex-wife.
Teddy opened his laptop and started it up. Once it finally came to life and connected to the aircraft's wireless network, he was able to check his email. There were several since he checked last, but the ones he wanted were from Stephanie.
The first one informed him that his flat in London was fully prepared, and that the London Office was ready for his arrival. They wanted to know about transportation arrangements for Ted's arrival and to let him know a car and driver were available as needed for his stay.
While he was reading that email a new one came in. Ted was glad to know that the head of the legal section in London had a friend that specialized in child custody matters. He had the reputation of being one of the best in the entire country and they were waiting for instructions.
"Edward, we need to have plan in place before we get there, don't you think?"
"Yeah babe, what do you have in mind?"
"Well, we need to plan for several alternatives here. First, have you given any thought to what I asked you earlier? Do you want custody?"
"I would love custody of Bess. I miss her so much. I just don't think I can do it on my own. My parents can't really help, they are both still working. Besides I want her with me, not them. I just don't see how I can do it."
Teddy looked out the window and then back towards Edward. "Did you mean what you said earlier about me being your boyfriend?"
Edward grasped Teddy's hand, "I'm sorry, I guess it's kinda fast, but that's the way I think of you. There are some things I need to say to you, and right now seems like the best time." He took a deep breath before he started talking again. "I've always felt like there was something missing in my life, but I never knew what. I don't mean just since I was injured either, it was something for as long as I can remember. When I met you, I found what I was missing. You fill a void in me and I've been happier these past few days then I've ever been. I know this is fast, and I will understand if you don't feel the same way, but I want you in my life and I hope you want me in yours."
By the time he finished, there were tears in Teddy's eyes. Tears of joy, he couldn't believe what Edward was saying but it was something that he was feeling himself. He got out of his seat and moved to sit next to Edward. "I have been feeling the exact same thing, but I didn't know how to tell you. I've been scared of moving too quickly and scaring you." Teddy thought to himself `Now it's time to see just how far he wants to go.' "If you want custody, I'll help you. I know that I also want you in my life and that means that I want Bess in my life too."
"Well then, I'm going to need your help." Edward paused like he was suddenly sad, "But, how is this going to work with me in London and you in Florida?"
"I can work from anywhere, remember? I already have an office in London, I'll be good, trust me. We CAN make this work, if it's what you want."
"Of course it's what I want. Well, I guess the first thing we need to do is find a place to stay. We can't all live at Knightsbridge."
"Edward, I have a flat in London that I've had for years. I've already had my London office get it ready for me. I wasn't sure what our situation was going to be, so I wanted to make sure I had a place to stay if needed. There's enough room for all of us to be comfortable there."
"Babe, you amaze me. Where's your flat?"
"It's on Prince Consort Road in Kensington."
"You're kidding right? Do you know how close that is to Knightsbridge?"
"Yeah, it's about half a mile. I run by Knightsbridge every morning when I stay there, I run by there and then into the park so I can see the guards exercise their horses. But, if you're not comfortable there we can figure something else out."
"I'm sure I'll be fine there, as long as we're together." When he finished saying it he leaned over and kissed Teddy.
For Teddy it was one of those soul merging kisses, and when Edward pulled back it took a minute for Teddy's brain to restart. "Good. Looks like I need to contact an estate agent this week to start looking for something in Hereford or Credenhill."
"Babe, let's just hold off on that for now. We can talk about it later."
"Sure." Teddy grabbed his laptop and moved it in front of him. "I didn't tell you this earlier, but I already have a solicitor waiting to hear from us. He is supposed to be the best in the country, and if you say the word we'll start the process."
"I can't afford..."
"I'm sure we can work something out, maybe some kinda payment scheme." Teddy wiggled his eyebrows as he said it.
It did get Edward to laugh. "I'll be working my ass off for years to pay all this back."
"Working my ass off it more like it... at least, that's MY plan... Let me get you on the phone and get this going." Teddy picked up the phone along the wall and started the call. Once Edward was on the phone, Teddy walked to the rear lavatory and splashed some water on his face. The cool temperature felt good, and he needed something to make him feel a little more relaxed. Once he dried his face he walked back and sat on the opposite side of the aircraft from where Edward was sitting.
After about thirty minutes of replying to work e-mails, Teddy stood and walked into the crew compartment to find Dustin.
As soon as he walked through the doorway, Dustin noticed him standing there. "Mr. Jackson, do you need something?"
"No, just giving Edward some privacy. You about ready for lunch yet? I'm hungry and I can almost guarantee the big guy is to."
"I can be ready whenever you want. I have your selections ready, and I just put some cookies in."
"Good man. Dustin, do me a favor. I hope Edward is going to be with us from now on. So drop the Mr. Jackson crap."
Dustin laughed, "Thank god, I was worried I was going to slip up."
Teddy laughed, "It was getting old. I'm going to go up front and see the boys for a minute."
He walked forward and into the cockpit, Jake and Mark were talking when Ted got there. They noticed him immediately and Mark turned to extend his hand.
"Hey, boss. How are you doing?"
"I'm great Mark. Listen guys, do me a favor. It looks like Edward is going to hopefully be in my life, so you can just drop the Mr. Jackson shit."
They both laughed and quickly agreed.
"I forgot to ask you earlier, where are we landing?"
Jake looked at Mark and then back to Ted, "Well, only place we can land tonight is Heathrow. We were able to get a slot. It was easier than I thought it was going to be, mainly because it will be so late. Tomorrow we'll move the aircraft to Biggin Hill and put it in the Global hanger there."
"Great. Did Stephanie get you guys set for accommodations?"
"Oh yeah, we're taken care of."
"Excellent. What time are you expecting us to touch down?"
Mark looked down at the Flight Management System screen near his thigh. "Looks like 0144 local time."
"Thanks again guys. I better get back to the rear." He shook both their hands again and headed back to where Dustin was standing.
"Ted, you seem happier than I've you be seen in years. I take it we have Edward to thank for that?"
The comment made Ted smile. "Yes, Dustin. We sure do."
"Remind me to shake his hand again. He's my new hero."
Ted smiled at him, "Dustin you're so sweet. Why hasn't some amazing man snatched you up yet?"
"My guess is because my slave driving beast of a boss keeps me too busy flying all over the world."
"What a bastard he must be. You should give him a piece of your mind."
"Hell no, I just wish I got frequent flyer miles. I'm going to enjoy it for all its worth while I'm still young enough to enjoy the travel. Besides, I seem to attract the wrong ones, if you know what I mean."
"We need to work on that. Not that I have a great track record, but I seemed to have just won the fucking lottery."
"You talking about me?" Teddy didn't realize that Edward was standing behind, and he jumped at the sound of his voice.
"Damn, you scared the crap out of me," He laughed. "Actually, I was just telling Dustin how lucky I felt."
"Are those cookies I smell?" There was the boyish grin that always seemed capture Ted's heart.
Dustin smiled wide. "Yes, they are. Should be ready shortly, I'll bring you some as soon as they are done. Are you ready for lunch?"
"That would be perfect, Dustin, I'm starving. Thanks!" This time it was a full grin showing those amazing white teeth on Edward's face. He tilted his head as he turned and Teddy followed him back to their seats.
"After I got off with the solicitor, I talked to Tony Price. He said there's been no sign of Mary since she left the house last night. They're still checking the hospitals. He said he got the number I was calling from and would call me back if he heard anything."
"That's good. Sorry, I should have given it to you before you called. What'd the solicitor say?"
"His name is James Blackburn, he is going to file the emergency order request immediately."
"Ok, can your parents go and pick Elizabeth up with Mr. Blackburn? Or, should we plan something else?"
"I don't want to involve them yet. I thought about calling the barracks, and having some of the guys go, but that might scare Bess. The last time I gone and regimental officers came to the house was when I was hurt."
Teddy sat there for a moment looking out the window. "How about this, does she know your orderly?"
"Yeah, she really likes him. Why?"
"This may be totally inappropriate, but what if I have someone go by Knightsbridge and pick him up? He could go with Mr. Blackburn to pick up Bess and then we'll have them taken to my flat?"
"I don't know. I don't want to make him feel he has to do it."
"I know babe, but would it hurt to ask? Just explain what's happening. Besides, I'd like to meet him."
"Why is that?" There was that grin again. "You're not..."
"No, not jealous... well..."
"Teddy, you have absolutely nothing to be worried about from Devon Baker. Besides, he's leaving the Army in a few weeks."
"Why's that?"
"Family problems, he pretty much raised his younger brothers and sisters but something happened and there was a falling out with his family. Since then he just hasn't been himself. He's still a damn good soldier, but his heart just isn't in it anymore."
"Is that why you thought he's gay?"
"Yeah, but I guess I could be wrong."
"Well, what do you think? Think he'd help?"
Edward paused a minute, "What the hell, guess it's worth a shot."
Edward's first call was to his Squadron Commander to explain what was going on and what he was planning. Understanding the trauma caused by the last visit to young Elizabeth, he quickly endorsed the plan and got Edward in contact with Trooper Baker. The talk with Devon Baker went better than Edward had predicted and the young trooper had taken it as an honor Edward had called him to ask him to help. Edward got his mobile number and told him he'd call as soon as the plans were finalized.
Ted had been busy on the computer while Edward was back on the phone, with emails sent to Stephanie, the head of the legal section in London, and finally to his mother. He thought he needed to bring her up to speed on his travel plans. Stephanie answered quickly and told him what was going on in the office, and wished them luck. He also received an answer from the London office confirming the arrangements for transportation from the airport to the flat.
The next three hours went quickly, with all the plans being finalized. As expected, the magistrate issued an emergency order for custody and then it all happened very quickly. A car and driver picked Devon Baker up from the barracks and he met Mr. Blackburn at Mary's flat. Unknown to Edward, Tony Price had also come along to make sure there were no issues if Mary had shown back up. Edward was on the phone with Elizabeth when the men showed up at the flat, and he reassured her it was ok and these men were going to take care of her until he got there.
The last incoming call had come from Devon when they arrived at Ted's flat and were settled in. He told Edward how Bess had quickly fallen asleep and they would both be at the airport when he arrived. Edward told him to stay at the flat and they should both get some sleep. Finally off the phone Teddy could tell that Edward was emotionally and physically exhausted.
Dustin had seen it also and had already gone to the rear of the aircraft and converted the two couches into a bed. When he was done, Teddy rose and took Edward's hand.
"Come on soldier boy. It's time for bed... you're going to need your strength when we get there."
Ed stood and followed Teddy. He sat at the foot of the bed, and Ted kneeled down and took Edward's shoes off and then his own. He watched as Edward moved up the bed and placed his head on a pillow. Ted thanked Dustin and then slid onto the bed next to Edward. When he was there he was surprised when a set of strong hands grabbed him. Edward pulled Teddy to the center of the bed and then spooned up behind him, wrapping his large arms around him.
Teddy could feel Edward relax and soon his breathing was deep and rhythmic. It wasn't long before sleep started to overtake Teddy as well. His last thoughts were of how his life had changed so drastically in such a short time. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.
Dustin entered the rear part of the cabin and smiled. On the bed Ted was laying on his right side and Edward was right behind him with his arms wrapped around him. It was good to see his boss, who had also become a dear friend, lying in the arms of a man who obviously card for him. Dustin noticed that Ted had a smile on his face, as he reached out and touched Ted's leg, "Ted, we've started our decent."
Ted's eyes opened and it took him a minute to figure out where he was, "Ah, ok, thanks Dustin."
When Dustin had left Ted reached a hand up and touched Edward's arm, "Baby, we need to get up."
"Huh?"
"We need to get up. We're descending and getting ready to land at Heathrow."
As Teddy tried to move, Edward pulled him back into his chest and kissed his neck. "It's after midnight... so, good morning babe."
Ted stayed in Edward's arms, "Did you sleep ok?"
"I sleep great when you're with me. You get any sleep?"
"Not a wink. Damn gorilla was snoring in my ear."
"Gorilla? Is that right, drool boy?"
They both started laughing while getting off the bed. Teddy pointed for Edward to go into the lav, as he handed him his shaving kit. When Edward was gone he checked his email again and Dustin turned the bed back into two couches.
"Everything ok Ted?"
"Yeah, I don't want to say no news is good news, but at least it isn't any bad news."
Jake's voice echoed in the cabin, "Good morning, we're looking at about 30 minutes `til touchdown which will put us on the ground about 0131 local. See you on the ground."
When Edward exited the lav, he looked like a new person. He was clean shaven and he looked like he had a recharge of energy from somewhere. Ted grabbed his own kit and headed toward the lav.
Once the door was shut, Dustin walked over to where Edward was sitting. "Edward, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Yeah, of course Dustin."
Dustin extended his hand and grasped Edward's in a hand-shake. "I wanted to say thank you for making him so happy. He is a very special person and we are all very protective of him, if you understand what I'm saying." Dustin increased his grip to emphasize his point.
"Thank you for looking out for him. And, you're right, he is incredibly special and I care for him deeply. I'm not sure what I did to deserve him. You don't need to worry."
"Thanks, I'm glad for both of you." With that Dustin released Edward's hand and walked back forward.
When Teddy was finished, he walked out and over to Edward, leaning in he kissed him and Edward brought his hand to behind Teddy's head. They held the kiss for a minute before breaking and sitting for the landing.
Edward looked into Ted's eyes, "Babe, today is probably going to be a mad house. In case I forget to say it later, thank you."
"For what?"
"For bringing me home, for arranging a solicitor, and for just being you." He leaned over and they kissed again.
They sat holding hands for the remainder of the flight, with Teddy's head on Edward's shoulder.
Hey everyone... Thank you for the emails, they are greatly appreciated. Sorry it took me so long to post, recovering from ACL reconstruction and it has been interesting to say the least. Don't worry, there is much more to come.
