Welcome back loyal readers for another installment in our adventure. Our high flying Hawke is going to be brought back to Earth in this chapter....or is he? The next few chapters will revolve around him, for better or for worse. And know Trevor the Hawke, we could be soaring into some interesting venues. As for the references to "Twelve Angry Men", Ben had a role in the play this fall, playing Juror Seven. He thought it was an excellent play to use for Chaplain Kyle's brainstorm. Thanks again for reading, and please write us your thoughts. Ben and I love getting mail, and while getting two busy guys to give you a prompt reply can be hard, you will always get a reply from at least one of us. Write us at TheHakaanen@hotmail.com.
The Boys of the Lady Lex Chapter 35 "The Birds of Prey" Written By Douglas DD and Benjamin TC
Trevor looked in the mirror. Ian had applied his "Hawke" makeup on. Trevor was wearing nothing but his long black T-shirt. He was barefoot, wearing no underwear and was ready to soar the skies over the "Orion" on this night. This was the day he had been waiting for. He was going to take everything he learned from Mr. Wolfe and apply it and make Mr. Wolfe proud of him. But more importantly he was going to gather the intel that they needed to beat the "Orion" in the Olympics. Maybe then this will make his brother, Ben see that Andrew isn't his only brother on board the Lady Lex.
"You about ready Hawke?" asked Ian as he came into the bathroom. He too was wearing nothing but a long black T-shirt with "Eagle" makeup on his face. Trev turned around and smiled.
"I'm ready. You ready?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"What do you mean you guess? Either you're ready or you're not."
"I'm just scared that we might get caught or something will go wrong."
"Relax Eagle. Nothing will go wrong. I planned this out with Johnny carefully. While everyone was getting their asses kicked in the games I was doing homework. I was sneaking around getting the information I needed so we can soar into the "Orion", collect what we need and then soar out without anyone noticing. We already went over the plan. Don't you think it's a good plan?"
"I think it's great but I am still worried about getting caught."
"I know you don't want to clean outhouses and neither do I, so we won't get caught."
"It's not that, Trevor. It's that because of me. Me and my brothers got caught while trying to rip off a drug emporium. I didn't want to do it to begin with, but Scottie and Carson talked me into it. And then we got caught and ended up here."
"So what are you saying? You don't want to do this?"
"I don't know...It's just I don't want to get caught. I don't want to embarrass you or the Lady Lex like I embarrassed my brothers. I don't want to make any more people ashamed of me."
"Eagle, you're not going to get caught. I promise."
Ian looked at the makeup covered face of Trevor. He could see from the sincerity and determination in his eyes that Trevor was making an honest promise. But could he trust Trevor? After all Trevor just used him many times over. Sure Trevor had made it up somewhat by jacking him off and even giving him a blow job a few times, but it was almost like he was going through the motions of it and not the passion. Ian started to wonder why he ever thought why someone who is loud, outspoken, wild and crazy extrovert would have any interest in him, a loner, a quiet introverted misfit; someone who didn't have anything to offer the Birds of Prey like everyone else did.
Trevor looked at Ian's makeup covered face. There was something so erotic and sexy about it. His T-shirt started to tent as he looked at his young friend. Trevor felt his heart to pound a little harder, a little faster. Strange stirrings were occurring in his stomach. There was something about the makeup on Ian's worried face. Something about the long black T-shirt. Something about seeing Ian with bare feet. Seeing his smooth sexy legs. Trevor took a step closer to Ian, his heart pounding even harder and faster then before. What was it about Ian? Was it his concern on being captured? Was it the way he looked right there and then? Was it how much he needed Trevor even though Trevor was too dense at times to realize it? Did Ian want the same attention, love, respect that Trevor so much desired from Ben?
The two Birds of Prey came closer together. Both boys felt an invisible force pulling at them. They closed their eyes and soon their lips were joined. Ian opened his mouth slightly, just enough of a an invitation for Trevor to stick his tongue in. Ian's tongue greeted Trevor's excitedly as the two wild muscles wrestled together. Both boys letting off small whimpering moans.
Trevor's hands scooped up under Ian's shirt causing it to expose Ian's three inch hairless dick. His hands wandered and explored the back of his Eagle friend as they pressed their bodies tightly together. Ian was losing himself in the heat of the moment. He was losing all control of his emotions and actions. He knew what he wanted at that moment, but was Trevor willing to give what he desired most? And if Trevor was willing, was he going to give it to him with or without emotion.
Trevor broke the kiss. His lips and tongue found their way to Ian's neck. Trevor was so into what he was doing, that he didn't care or even notice that the make up on both boys were getting smeared and rubbing off. All Trevor knew was he had feelings coming out of him for Ian he never knew he had before. He nibbled and kissed and bit at Ian's neck. Both boys managed to find their way to Trevor's bed and collapsed on it. Trevor was all over Ian's neck, sucking, nibbling, biting it. He moved up onto Ian's ear, treating it with the same actions as Ian's neck had received.
Chills and sparks were shooting up and down Ian's body. He felt things he had never felt before. Of the few times Trevor sucked him off or jacked him off, he hand't felt this kind of emotion before. Then again Trevor had never given attention to his body like he was doing now.
Trevor grabbed onto Ian's T-shirt and pulled it off. Trevor couldn't get enough of Ian. His skin was so soft and smooth. The sight of seeing Ian in his Eagle outfit did something to Trevor that he didn't know he had inside of him. Trevor went back to Ian's neck. This time Ian's neck had makeup from Trevor's face smeared on it, covering up the hickey Trevor had given. Trevor was so into what he was doing, he didn't realize what he had done and Ian didn't notice it either.
Trevor's tongue strolled down Ian's skinny, yet sexy body. It stopped at Ian's dime size nipples. Trevor began to suck, bite, pull, nibble and kiss the left one. He would then go to the right one and give it the same attention and move back to the left. He kept going back and forth. Ian reached down and rubbed his hands over the stubble on top of Trevor's head. Since the boys finally got permission to grow their hair out, Trevor was taking advantage of it.
Ian reached down farther and grabbed onto Trevor's shirt. He pulled it off causing Trevor to stop kissing and biting Ian's nipples. As Trevor's head went plop out of the shirt it fell onto Ian's belly button. Trevor kissed it, licked it and sucked at it. At that point Ian knew what he wanted, but was Trevor willing to give it to him?
Trevor's mouth moved south more and more. Soon his luscious sweet lips were at the base of Ian's hard throbbing dick. Trevor stuck out his tongue and rolled it up the blue vein that ran vertically on Ian's hard cock. Trevor ran the tip of his tongue through the pee slit. Then he ran his tongue back down. Trevor's tongue tickled Ian's hairless sack. He then sucked in one ball and then sucked in the second one. He sucked on them and rolled them around his mouth. Ian was gasping and moaning. He was never sure about his feelings of sex with boys, but he knew this was right. It had to be right.
Trevor let the tiny balls slip from his mouth as his tongue went up underneath Ian's sack. He hit that sweet sensitive spot where the scrotum and the anal crack connected. Strong emotions ran through both boys' bodies. Ian involuntary spread his legs apart. Trevor accepted the invitation. He spread Ian's butt cheeks apart and his tongue began licking Ian's rosebud. The smell, the taste, the feeling turned Trevor on all the more. He begin licking, kissing and sucking it hard. He pushed his tongue inside Ian's hole and started to tongue fuck him.
Ian gasped and moaned. He was in pure heaven. He didn't want this to end. He wanted more. He wanted Trevor so bad. Ian let out a combination of a grunt and groan as he felt Trevor's finger go inside him. Ian was breathing rapidly and unevenly. He wanted more. He had to have more. He wanted Trevor so bad.
Trevor moved his finger around inside Ian's hole as he did his best to lick Ian's crack. It was somewhat difficult because his hand was in the way. Then Trevor ran his finger across Ian's sweet spot. This was the first time someone had ever touched his sweet spot.
"TREVOR!!!" yelled Ian in pure ecstasy.
Ian had fooled around with his brothers, but he had never gone all the way. Hand jobs and blow jobs were the extent of his sexual experience. His dick was aching hard for a release. He had never been as turned on as he was now. He looked down and saw a small tiny drop of clear liquid oozing out of his dick. For the first time, Ian had precum.
Trevor continued to lick Ian's butt and then his finger found Ian's sweet spot a second time. "OH GOD!!!" yelled Ian. He sat up and grabbed Trevor by the armpits and pulled up on top of him. Both boys became an instant tangle of legs and arms as they kissed passionately, deep, hard, and with so much emotion. Both boys were humping each other, rubbing each other's dicks together. Then Ian spread his legs, scooted a little bit and reached down and guided Trevor's hard cock to the entrance that lead to his boy cherry.
Without saying a word, Trevor pushed his dick into Ian's virgin hole. Ian screamed in both pain and pleasure. But he didn't want Trevor to stop. Ian guided his legs up over Trevor's shoulders to make it easier for Trevor to fuck him. Trevor's four inch dick started to pound in and out of Ian's tight hot ass. Both boys were moaning, groaning, lusting.
"Fuck me Hawke!!" yelled Ian. Ian wasn't a curser but with Trevor pounding his ass he couldn't help it.
Trevor started to pound his ass harder, faster and deeper, rubbing Ian's sweet spot with each thrust. Trevor's balls were slapping against Ian's butt cheeks. Trevor attached his lips to Ian's lips and the deeper, faster and harder they kissed, the deeper, faster harder Trevor fucked Ian.
Both boys balls begin to grow close to their bodies. Their dicks began to swell. Then with one final thrust Trevor jammed his dick hard against Ian's sweet spot as his dick erupted. The feeling of the jamming and the cum exploding on his sweet spot sent Ian over the edge and he had the most intense orgasm of his life. His cum shot over his belly and Trevor collapse onto him exhausted and out of breath. He could feel Ian's cum cementing them together.
Trevor kissed Ian gently on the lips. Then he laid his head gently town with his lips along side Ian's ear. The very softly yet with complete feeling Trevor whispered "I love you Ian."
Ian purred at the sound of those words. Then tears started to build up in his eyes. Trevor noticed this. "What's wrong Eagle? Did I hurt you?"
Ian sniffed and then spoke. "No it was great. You're just not saying that are you? Because I loved you for so long Trevor and I don't want you making fun of me or using me."
"I love you Eagle and I am just not saying that. I'm...I'm...I'm sorry for not telling you sooner. I was being a butthead and I want to be your boyfriend."
Ian cried with joy and he gave Trevor his answer by kissing him hard and passionately. But their moment of bliss was interrupted by a pounding on their door.
"Hawke!! Eagle!! Hurry up!! It's time to go!!!" yelled Chandler the Falcon through the door.
Ian and Trevor got up off the bed. Their bodies were covered in smeared makeup, sweat and cum. There was no time to clean up and neither boy cared. They slipped on their T-shirts and opened the door. Chandler was standing outside wearing nothing but his black T-shirt and his Falcon makeup.
"What were you guys doing in there? And why is your makeup all smeared?"
"Ummm" both boys blushed. "I was just teaching Ian some wrestling moves. That's all. Let's go." Trevor, Chandler and Hawke then headed to the "Raptor".
"What the hell happened to your makeup?" asked Spencer Harris, the "Raptor's" shuttle commander. Like Trevor, Ian and Chandler he was wearing nothing but a black T-shirt and makeup on his face to make him look like a Condor. But unlike the rest, Spencer had ripped the sleeves off of his shirt to expose his well developed muscles.
"Never mind," said Trevor. He took his position at the science station and immediately started going over his plan.
Chandler sat in the navigator seat next to Kyle Osborne, known as the Harrier. Kyle was a bit put out that this mission didn't involve speed. For Kyle speed was the name of the game. He almost splooged himself during the shuttle craft challenge when he opened up full throttle and headed towards the "Orion's" flag and captured it.
Ian sat at the engineering station which was next to the weapons' station. Dylan McIntire was caressing the controls at his station. Fiery red stubble was covering Dylan's rectangular shaped head. There was a certain gleam in his eyes and Ian could have sworn that Dylan was drooling over the controls. Ian wasn't sure why he would be like that, because it wasn't like Dylan would actually be able to use his weapons on this mission. Dylan turned and looked at Ian with the look of a crazy man.
"G'day Mate!! Ready to kill some roos?" Ian almost didn't understand him through that thick Australian accent of his.
"Umm sure," said Ian. Ian saw the red stubble on Dylan's head and figured that although it was a mythical creature and not a true bird like the rest, Phoenix was the perfect name for Dylan. Dylan's hair looked like it could be on fire, plus Dylan had been an arsonist.
Condor sat in his shuttle commander's seat. He looked at his crew. He didn't agree that all of them belonged on the "Raptor" but it was his crew and he wasn't going to fail this mission. He hit his speaker button and spoke. "Aerie this is "Raptor", permission to fly the coop."
"Permission granted," said Johnny's voice over the loud speaker.
Harrier engaged the shuttle and headed towards the "Orion". Soon the high tech most advance academy vessel filled the window. All the boys stared at it, but not one wished they were a member of that crew. The "Lexington" was their ship and they were proud of her.
"Condor, we are sixty seconds from scanner range," said the Hawke as he monitored his science station.
"If this doesn't work, we're doomed," said Condor. "This is the part that will make us or break us. It's time for a silent soar."
Falcon punched in the coordinates and doubled checked them a couple of times. Phoenix engaged the stealth mode and Harrier made his adjustments and started to make a deep swoop. Just as he got directly underneath the "Orion", he pulled back and did a vertical climb of about three kilometers to the belly of the vessel. Falcon and Harrier worked silently together as they made their calculations. Not only was this a pinpoint landing, but they had to do it with no engines. Once they headed towards the "Orion", they cut all systems off except the environmental systems and drifted towards the "Orion". Everything was going as planned.
"Too simple," said Condor to himself. "Too simple."
Harrier saw their docking spot. They had accounted for ships orbit and movement to align themselves with the right spot. Once they hit the ship, they would attach themselves like a leech to its host. And if they calculated everything right, their landing on the ship would be like a fly landing on a human, barely noticeable.
Things were going just as planned. But then boys all got sudden panic looks on their face. Something happened that they didn't figure into the equation. The "Orion" has just fired off some orbital course correction thrusters. The "Orion" started to move in a direction the "Raptor" hadn't planned on.
Condor quickly looked at his monitor to see where they were going to touch down at now, but cursed under his breath when he realized all systems were powered down for the silent soar. Falcon shot a look at Condor as if saying "What should we do?" Condor shook his head telling Falcon and Harrier to let it be and see where the chips may fall.
The "Raptor" slowly drifted towards the "Orion" blindly as it drew closer and closer. Soon the two ships tapped each other lightly. Phoenix released the cable that had a magnet head on it. With some work, the "Raptor" was safely attached to the "Orion". With some luck, no one noticed.
The six boys all remained motionless and none of them realized that all of them were holding their breaths. They weren't sure if they were detected or not. But they hoped for the best but expected the worse.
"I think we can breathe now," said Spencer letting go of his breath. The shuttle was filled with the sound of exhaling boys. All of them still concerned about whether they had been detected.
"Eagle, any damage?" asked Condor.
Eagle fired up his station like the plan was and did a quick once over. "There appears to be no structural damage. All systems appear to be operating at full efficiency."
"Harrier how far off course are we?"
"About 50 meters. We didn't land on the empty escape pod hatch that we planned on."
During the games, the Hawke had found out that an escape pod was removed from the ship and taken to the planet for some repairs. What made this landing spot perfect was the escape pod hatch was located in the deep bowels of the vessel not many cadets worked and with most of them still on the planet, due to a breakfast banquet that morning, the chances of someone being in that part of the ship at this particular hour were very slim.
"Shit!!" said Condor. They couldn't power up completely and take the chance on being detected as they make their way to the hatch. No they have to figure out another plan to enter the ship.
"Hawke in your spying, did you find out where we could enter the "Orion" if we did a space walk?"
"Umm no, but I can do a quick scan to find a space walk entrance."
"If we do a scan, we risk the chance of detection. And I am not ready to take that chance. Falcon, Harrier, you're closest to the window, did you see anything that looked like a space walk hatch as we were coming towards this piece of shit ship?"
Harrier shook his head no. He was too busy watching his target go away from him and where they were going to touch down instead.
Falcon had powered up his station. He worked rapidly. He figured in some numbers and guessed on what the course corrections the "Orion" had taken. He had to figure out where they were attached too. Once they figured that, then he could look at his exterior map of the "Orion" that they had and figured the best route of infiltration.
"Okay, I figured that we touch down here," said Falcon as he pointed to his screen, showing Condor and Hawke where they were at. "If that is the case, according to our time constraints we have three space walk hatches to chose from."
"Where do they lead?" asked Hawke.
"The closest one leads us into the heart of the engineering maintenance station. There is always a minimum of three people on watch there. They would more then likely here us come in."
"That won't work," said Condor. "Where are the other two?"
"The second closest one is here, by shuttle bay two. I wouldn't recommend that one, because the shuttle bays are being monitored for incoming and outgoing shuttles."
"At this hour?" asked Hawke.
"Especially at this hour because they don't want their cadets taking any unauthorized joyrides," chimed in Harrier.
"And our third choice?" asked Condor.
"The command duty officer's bunk room."
"Shit, none of them will work. There has to be another way." Condor was pissed. Why didn't they figure in a course change. Of course they had no way knowing that one would be made at that exact moment.
"Falcon," said Eagle softly.
"Yeah?"
"How far are we from the waste chute?"
"About ten meters, but the chute is closed when not in use. And I guarantee you they won't use it between now and five because it is against SFA policy to use the waste chute while orbiting a planet," replied Falcon.
"Yeah you idiot. That was a dumb idea," said Harrier. Eagle held his head in shame. Why did he even bother open his mouth?
"Shut up Harrier!!" yelled Hawke. "At least he is trying to think of other options."
Eagle perked up a little bit when he saw Hawke stick up for him. This was something he never done before. He wanted to give Hawke a kiss and hug right there and then, but he thought better of it and held off.
Eagle wasn't going to continue his suggestion, but since Hawke stuck up for him it gave him the courage to do so. "The waste chute is under repair. I heard a couple of the "Orion" cadets talk about how they were almost late showing up for their game because they were having problems with their repairbots that were trying to fix the waste chute."
"Listen, the waste chute is out of the question you idiot. Even if the chute was open, there is no way to decompress. So get the idea out of your head," snapped Harrier.
"Shut up Harrier, I mean it," yelled Hawke.
"What are you going to do beat me up?"
"You might be bigger then me, but I can take you in a heart beat!!" Hawke was about to throw a punch when Condor stepped between them two.
"Listen we have enough problems to figure out without worrying on how to clean up blood," said Condor.
"I made sure I don't get any of his blood on the floor," smirked Harrier.
"It wasn't his blood I was concerned about cleaning up," said Condor.
Harrier made a face and sat down in his seat. Hawke stuck his tongue out at Harrier and then turned and faced Eagle. "Go ahead Eagle, tell us what you are thinking."
Eagle wasn't going to say any more, but he decided he would. He was on to something good and wasn't going to give up. "Why don't we ride a repairbot in? We grab onto one, snap an antennae, the repairbot will immediately recognize the problem and head back into it's hold. I very much doubt that at this time of day, anyone will be in the repairbot hold. Besides they are controlled from the maintenance shed and we will be far enough away from that they won't hear us come in. And they have to decompression the chamber anyway so they can come in and check out the problem with the repairbot."
Hawke smiled. The boy who he realized his heart was beating for had came up with a brilliant plan. Now the question was, was there any repairbots still out fixing the waste chute?
Hawke, Condor, Phoenix, Eagle and Falcon all put on their space suits. Harrier was staying on board the "Raptor". The suit kind of itched against the bare legs of the boys, but at least it didn't ride up their bottomless backsides.
"All right, you all know the plan. All five of us grab onto one repairbot. We snap an antennae and then hang on for the ride. Once we get into the repairbot hangar we need to find a place to hide quickly because I am sure maintenance techs will be coming in to check it out. Once inside Falcon, Phoenix and myself will make our way to a computer terminal to tap in and gather the intel data we seek. Hawke and Eagle will make their way to do the mission they have planned. Once we complete our tasks we will all meet at our rendezvous point. We will then proceed to our exit point together. Any questions?" asked Condor.
Everyone shook their heads no. They sealed the airlock chamber and proceeded to open the hatch to the outside. None of them had done a space walk before. They were taught how to put on their suits and what to do while out in the cold vacuum of space, but none of them truly made the walk.
They floated outside hanging onto the side of the "Raptor". They activated their magnetic boots and slowly walked on the skin of the "Orion" towards the waste shoot. Eagle felt a little nauseous but he fought back the urge and kept making his way towards the repairbots.
The boys finally made it to the repairbots. There were three of them working on the chute. They were welding and repairing and working vigorously. The five boys found part of the repairbot that they could grip. It wasn't that big and they were cramming in all to get a grip, but soon they were all attached. It was also hard to grip onto it as the repairbot worked on the chute. But once they were all on it, Condor reached up and pulled on the antennae. It was a lot harder than he had planned on. He pulled and pulled and just wasn't getting any leverage. He grabbed on to it with both hands and braced his legs on the repairbot. This made it even more difficult for the others to hang on, because he was taking up a lot of the room. He put his body weight into it and pulled hard. The Antennae started to bend and soon "SNAP" the antennae broke off. This caught Condor off guard. He tried to grabbed onto the repairbot but he was floating off into space. The repairbot immediately realized it's malfunction and it stopped what it was doing and headed towards the repairbot shack.
Hawke watched Condor float and slam into the "Orion". He saw Condor activate his magnetic boots. Then he lost sight as the repairbot entered the shack. The doors sealed tightly behind them and the repairbot sat down on the cold, hard deck.
Hawke, Falcon, Phoenix and Eagle let go and they found some large metal crates that had repair parts in them. They stood behind it as they heard a hatch open up.
"Looks like she snapped an antennae off," said the voice of young boy, mostly likely a cadet.
"I hate these things. They seem to be more trouble than they're worth," said another boy's voice.
"Let's leave it for the morning shift to fix. We have enough work to do before we secure for the night."
"I'm with you."
The hatch opened and closed again. Hawke looked at his atmosphere gauge and saw it was safe to take off his hood. He removed his hood with a hiss and looked around the corner. The coast was clear. They were alone in the repairbot shack. The four boys removed their suits, so they were wearing nothing but their black T-shirts. All boys had bare feet and no underwear on.
"I can't believe Condor left us," said Falcon.
"He didn't do it on purpose. But he is okay. I saw him latch onto the 'Orion'," said Hawke. "According to my watch we are almost an hour behind schedule. So we have to hurry. Phoenix and Falcon will go find their computer terminal and do what they have to do. Eagle and I will do what we got to do."
"What are we going to do with our suits?" asked Eagle.
"We're put them in this crate. We will meet back here in one hour. Is that enough time for you Falcon?"
"To find a terminal, download what I have to download and then to upload this special gift for them will be cutting it close," replied Falcon.
"Do your best Falcon. See you here in one hour," said Hawke. Him and Eagle opened the hatch that lead to the ship. He poked his head around to make sure there was no one around. They then headed down the corridor in pursuit of a special item.
Falcon checked the little pouch that he had around his neck to ensure that his tools and computer chips were still intact. Then he and Phoenix disappeared into the ship.
Condor sealed the hatch to the "Raptor". He took off his suit and entered the cabin. Harrier was sitting at his station monitoring his equipment. Condor wasn't too pleased about what had happened. He just hoped that those four could pull this off without being caught.
"You okay?" asked Harrier who didn't remove his eyes from his monitor.
"Yeah, they in?"
"They are in and making their way through the ship."
Condor sat next to Harrier and he watched the four little blips on the monitor move through the map of the "Orion" that was on the screen. The blips were grouped into two groups. The black blip represented Falcon. The red blip was Phoenix. The orange blip was the Hawke and the blue blip was Eagle. If Condor was still in the group he would have been represented by a green blip and Harrier would have been a purple blip.
"What computer terminal are Falcon and Phoenix suppose to go to?" asked Harrier.
"The closest one to their landing point, that won't get them caught. Why?"
"I could be wrong, but it looks like they might be making their way to the bridge."
"That can't be. That is too dangerous and has a high risk of being caught. If we are caught, our mission is done."
Harrier and Condor watched the screen closely. Harrier zoomed in on the area where Falcon and Phoenix were. Harrier quickly accessed the area and came up with some predictions.
"That's what they're doing. They're going to the bridge. But why?"
"I don't know, but if they get caught I will kill them!!!" said Condor.
Falcon and Phoenix crept through the empty corridors. Luckily for them it was in the middle of the night and most of the crew were still on the planet. They made it to the entrance to the bridge without being seen.
"Are you sure you need to access the main terminal through the bridge computer and not a satellite computer station?" asked Phoenix.
"To get the information we need and for me to do what I need to do, the bridge computer is my best bet," whispered Falcon.
"This is crazy and totally insane. Let's do it."
Hawke peeked through the vent screen. He saw the ceremonial room was empty. The only lights that were on in the room were the two spot lights that were each shining on a flag. There was the SFA flag and the "Orion's" ship's flag. Every junior academy ship had its own flag that displayed the ship's emblem and motto.
Hawke managed to open the vent screen and he crawled out. Eagle followed him. Hawke liked crawling through the vent shafts better then sneaking down the corridors. Before they crawled into the ventilation system, Eagle managed to get the layout of the system on a satellite computer system. They didn't want to go through the maze of ducts blindfolded.
Hawke walked over to the "Orion's" flag. He held out the flag to see what it looked like. It was a black background with stars in the pattern of the "Orion" constellation. There was a word written under each star in "Orion's" belt. They were Honor, Courage and Commitment. Next to the red star in "Orion's" armpit known as Betelgeuse was the SFA "Orion". Hawke thought the flag was lame and cheesy. The outside of the flag was lined with black and gold tassels, the "Orion's" colors.
"I like our flag better," said Eagle.
"That's because Ryan did a great job designing it." Trev took down the flag and crammed it into his backpack.
"Look! Over there in the corner," said Eagle.
Hawke looked and standing in the corner were three flags. Hawke went over to them. He unraveled the three flags. It was the ship's flags for the JSFA Monitor, JSFA "Gettysburg" and JSFA "Lexington".
"That's our flag," said Eagle.
"Yeah, they must of snatched it when they snuck aboard that time you and I got stunned." Hawke took the "Lexington's" flag and folded it neatly, unlike the "Orion's" flag, and placed it in his back pack.
"Are you going to take the other two flags too?" asked Eagle.
"No, if we take their flag it will be directly from them. Now come on, we are almost out of time." Hawke and Eagle climbed back into the vent and replaced the screen. They began crawling through the vents.
Cadet Tonia Windhammer sat in the command chair on the bridge. She was the Operations Officer on the "Orion". She was also a senior and would be graduating with Rich and Todd after the Olympics. Unlike Rich and Todd, who had come from the "Port Royal", she had come from the JSFA "Monitor". She was hoping for the CO or XO position, but third in command isn't bad either. It was a better position then what she would have received on the "Monitor" if she had stayed. She would have been the chief security officer.
The door to the bridge opened, then shut again. No one came in or out of it. Cadet Windhammer was alone on watch. She volunteered to stand watch on the last night they were in orbit. But in the morning, when she would be relieved, she would take a shuttle down to the planet and join in the breakfast banquet the "Orion" was having.
She didn't think too much of it, then it happened again and then a few minutes later again. Cadet Windhammer went to the door. She opened it up and looked out in the corridor. It was empty. But something caught her eye. Coming from a near by door that was cracked open partially was some white smoke. She ran over to the door and opened it. It was Captain Hunter's quarters. She ran inside and saw a light had fallen over and landed on the sofa and the heat from the light caused the sofa to begin to smolder. She ran to the light and picked it up and grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher and put out the smoldering flame. She turned on the ventilation system to air out the captain's quarters. She was surprised the ship's systems didn't alert the bridge of the fire, but it wasn't so much a fire as it was smoke. She went to exit the room, but the door was shut. She tried opening it, but it was sealed. This didn't surprise Windhammer at all. Even though the "Orion" was state of the art ship and not even a year old yet, the ship still had a lot of bugs in it. She figured that the smoke finally set up the alarm system and secured the hatch and it short circuited or something. She tried to contact someone, but the comm system seemed to be malfunctioning as well. She was trapped in the captain's quarters.
Falcon and Phoenix ran on to the bridge. Falcon quickly looked around and found the main computer panel. He went over and immediately began to work. Phoenix sat in the command chair, something he has never done before.
"I wish I could have made a bigger fire," said Phoenix.
"If you would have made anything bigger she would have called for help and then the bridge would have been manned with even more people," replied Falcon as he tapped into the computer system.
"I wonder if Hawke and Eagle found the flag yet?"
"I don't know."
"If we are unable to steal something as simple as a flag, then we don't have the right to be called juvenile delinquents or JDs."
"I never knew until tonight that it has been a long standing tradition to take another ship's flag during the school year and then at the banquet the night before the Olympics start they return the flag, but at a price."
"Yeah, they have to do something silly or crazy. I heard last year the Spirit had lost a flag to each ship and they had to do crazy things like sing songs or recite poetry or some dumb shit like that."
"I think if they want their flag back from us they should give us blow jobs...shit!!" cursed Falcon.
"What's wrong?"
"This damn computer isn't letting me in. That's okay, I haven't used all my tricks yet." Falcon continued to work on the computer. He cursed and was starting to get agitated. This computer system was more advanced then he expected. He knew he could break it, it would just take time, but unfortunately time wasn't on their side.
"How's it coming?" asked Phoenix.
"Almost got it."
"You better hurry up. We're suppose to meet Hawke and Eagle in ten minutes."
"I won't make it. As soon as I gain access I have to upload and download the data. That will take at least thirty minutes."
"Well hurry up. Anyone can come through that door as we speak."
"GOT IT!!!" yelled Falcon with excitement. He immediately began to transfer access codes, ship's systems, ship's roster, log entries, and other intel data that would help them beat the "Orion" in the war games. That was one rule they by which they had to abide. The intel they gathered could only be used for the war games and not any other event. Falcon was pleased that he had broken into the ship's main computer system without being detected, but he was pissed that it took him as long as it did. He was afraid he was losing his touch.
"Done," said Falcon as he took out a computer chip. "I got all the data that will help us. Now I just have to deliver a special present to them. This shouldn't take too long." Falcon inserted another chip. Within minutes the chip was transferring it's data to the "Orion's" computer system.
"When will they receive your gift? Right away?"
"Nope. I have it programmed that it will lie dormant until the Olympics and will only be activated when the "Orion's" computer system is set to play against us."
"So it is only when they play us that your virus will work?"
"You got it. And if a real emergency arises, I have it programmed that the virus will shut itself off so it doesn't interfere with real life situations."
"You're too nice Falcon."
"I didn't want to do that, but Johnny told me I had to. He said we are pushing our limits on cheating."
"How much longer?"
"Done," said Falcon. He took the chip out and returned the computer back to normal as if it was never touched. The two boys left the bridge.
Hawke and Eagle crawled through the vents. Hawke was in the lead. They got lost a few times, but Hawke was sure he was heading in the right direction. >From behind him he heard some creaking and then a large crash. Hawke looked around and Eagle was gone. But in his place was a giant hole.
Hawke turned around and saw Eagle lying on the floor with some debris. "You okay Ian?"
"Yeah," replied Eagle. He sat up and saw he was in an empty room. He looked up and the ceiling was too far up for him to get into the vent. He jumped a few times and Hawke held out his hands to grab onto him, but his arms weren't long enough or Eagle's jumps weren't high enough.
Eagle heard someone on the other side of the door. Ian started to panic. Trev swung his legs around and jumped to the floor.
"What are you doing?" asked Ian.
"Getting you out of here. Now get on my shoulders." Trevor made a step with his hands and hoisted Ian up into the hole in the ceiling. Trevor remembered what Johnny had told him the night they got wasted. That he took the heat so his best friend wouldn't be captured. And if he had to do it all over again, he would. "Go meet up with the others."
"I don't want to leave you."
"Don't worry about me. I will be okay. I am the Hawke!!"
"FREEZE!!! DON'T MOVE!!!" yelled a cadet. Hawke turned around and saw two security cadets each pointing a phaser at him.
Ian quickly, yet quietly, scooted back from the hole so he couldn't be seen. Ian waited, almost holding his breath the entire time. Then he heard Trevor say "Eat my shorts!!!" Soon after he heard the door close. Ian quietly peeked out of the hole. The room was empty. The security cadets had taken Trevor.
Ian grabbed Trev's backpack. Ian thought to himself, why didn't Trevor just use one of the flags to pull him up. Ian was always good at looking at mistakes in hindsight. He then made his way to the rendezvous point.
Cadet Windhammer paced back and forth and finally the door to the Captain's quarters opened She went out into the hall and saw no one was there. "Good the short must of corrected itself or something." She went back to the bridge.
"Security to bridge," came over the comm system.
"Bridge here," said Windhammer as she entered the bridge.
"This is cadet Blevins and Cadet Lowery. We found an intruder."
"Intruder? Who? Where?"
"We found him in one of the empty office spaces. He won't tell us his name, but he is a Triple L, Lady Lex Loser. And you should see how he is dressed. This kid is a real loser."
"Up yours asshole," came Trevor's voice over the comm.
"A feisty loser, but nevertheless a loser," said Blevins. "I give this kid a lot of credit. He has spunk."
"Where are you at now?"
"We have him detained in our brig. He isn't going anywhere."
"Keep an eye on him. I will notify our captain."
"Roger that."
Cadet Windhammer immediately secured all hatches and systems. She put the ship on red alert. She didn't know if there were other intruders on board or not. She wondered why it had to happen on her watch.
Ian made it back to the repairbot shack. Falcon and Phoenix were already there putting on their suits.
"Where's Hawke?" asked Falcon.
"He got caught."
"Shit. What was he thinking? How could he get caught. He just ruined our mission," said Phoenix who was pissed. Ian slumped his head to the ground. He didn't want to tell them that he was the reason Trevor was caught.
The red alert alarm sounded through the ship. The three boys knew what was happening. Now they had to get out themselves.
"`Raptor' to Flock, come in," said Condor over a comm system in the space suit.
"Phoenix here."
"What's going on up there?"
"Hawke was captured."
"Fuck!!! No sense of being discreet now. Get your suits on and open the hatch to the shack. We are on our way."
Phoenix, Falcon and Eagle did what they were told to do. Once their suits were on, they opened the hatch to the outside. They had to hot wire it open because Cadet Windhammer had secured all hatches. The "Raptor" flew by and got as close as it could with the chamber hatch open. All three boys jumped into the ship and secured the hatch. Harrier put the "Raptor" in gear and floored it back to the "Lexington".
Cadet Windhammer saw the "Raptor" take off. If this was a real life situation she would have fired at it. But since she knew it was another cadet ship, she wasn't authorized to fire. She then went to the comm station and contacted Rich, Todd, and Captain Hunter.
"Where are we going?" asked Ian.
"Back to the ship. We lost," said Condor.
"But we can't leave Trevor behind. We have to go back and get him."
"It's too late. There is nothing we can do," assured Condor.
Ian looked at Harrier, Falcon, Phoenix and Condor. None of them was willing to go back and get Trevor. Ian couldn't understand how they could be so selfish. They were suppose to be a team who helps each other, not abandon them.
Mike the Donkey and Johnny Cooper were in the hangar waiting for the crew of the "Raptor" to arrive. Johnny was curious to see if they got the flags. He was so happy the "Raptor" made it back. And he couldn't wait to find out if Falcon delivered the package. Mike wasn't too happy because it was past 0500. But they made it back, so he was willing to overlook it. Condor, Harrier, Phoenix, Falcon and Ian exited the "Raptor".
"Where's Hawke?" asked Johnny.
"The little louse got himself captured," said Condor.
