To those who've been reading Tales of Sol. I want you to know that while there is sex in this story. That is not is sole purpose and yes I do hope the sex sense makes you all hard and gets you off.

Sol is an adaption from my childhood favorite show Captain Planet and the Planeteers, The cartoon showed us that the world can be a better place if we took a few moments to care for it.

Tales of Sol is meant to express hope.

It is also shows how music can have an impact in our lives. While I don't know if my favorite bands 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys or Nsync have ever read this. They saw me through some of the hardest moments of my life and offered in their own way hope. To them I say thank you.

I dedicate the Tales of Sol to all of my brothers and sisters of the US armed service past, present, and future.

I like to thank my friends who I had the privilege showing these chapters with. They helped with editing and inspiration,

John Rivera, Albert-Russ Alan Rivera-Odum, Derbe.D. Hunte Yvette Ortiz Samuel Diaz Jr for all their help in Making The Tales of Sol an enjoyable story to write.

And I have a few other names starting with the beginner of this universe James the author of Tales of a Real Dark Knight. I still hope to reconnect with you dear friend and all the rest of this series.

The Tales of Sol 60 Rebirth

The world was very dark and silent but the feel of another person's hand on him trying to rouse him and the man heard a voice calling his name, "Brian, come on, please wake up,"

Brian opened his eyes which didn't mean much for the room he was in was pitch black. His eyes felt heavy and he couldn't move. "Brian are you awake?" He heard his cousin ask

"Kev," Brian muttered,

"Oh Brian thank God," Kevin praised as he pulled his cousin into a hug.

"What happened?" Brian whispered his head was hurting.

"Our plane went down at sea," Kevin answered

Kevin hit the overhead light. There was enough power in the emergency generators to power the lighting system even though they were working at low power. Kevin could see the blood on his cousin's face.

"How are we?" Brian asked in between winching in pain

"Nick is still in shock, Howie strained his back and AJ right arm is broken," Kevin answered

"Why am I so tired?" Brian asked

"You were hit on the head by your own luggage and were given a concussion," Kevin answered

"That explains the headache," Brian sighed then he asked "And how are you?"

"I am alive," Kevin stated

"How long have I been out?" Brian voice croaked

"A good hour or two," Kevin answered

"Then he's out there," Brian smiled

"Who," Kevin was curious.

"Mike," Brian whispered he had faith in God and he would let Mike know they were in danger. He also had faith in Mike and he would be planning to rescue them at this moment.

"How can he be? Mike is flying back to Philadelphia?" Kevin quizzed with doubt.

"Trust me, Mike is coming," Brian whispered, his faith in his boyfriend was assured.

Peering out the side and front cockpit windows, and all I saw was a vast carpet of blue water under me. It went on for miles in every direction. The down draft from my Sea Dragon's rotor blades whipped up water droplets. All of my helicopter's radar, sonar and all other instruments were searching above and below the ocean surface. It looked very ominous somewhere under all that water and a plane rested. The fact that I am not seeing any wreckage tells me that it is likely the plane was intact.

"Any luck?" Dave asked

"No this is going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack," I told him what was the worst. Even though the Sea Dragon wasn't able to pick up any of their probes, I couldn't get anything on them. They were either damaged or the water was interfering somehow with the water part I believed though beside the metal skin of the plane would also interfere with the probes.

"I can't even find their probes," I felt my throat swell up as if my heart was about to come out.

"You'll find him," Dave encouraged

"I hope I find them in time, I can't lose him, I can't lose them, Dave," I said, tears welled up in my eyes.

Gaia appeared before the Sea Dragon with a compassionate, yet knowing look on her ghostly face.

"Gaia please tell me they are alright?" I pleaded with her.

"They are at the moment," Gaia reassured

"But where are they?" I asked, looking back down on the monitor with my sonar screen.

Seeing the anxious expression on my face Gaia gently reminded me, "Fear not, Mike you are not alone in your search, within you resides all the powers of nature. That includes your ability to communicate with the creatures of the sea call on them to help,"

Gaia's reminder gave me hope, closing my eyes. I sent out a plea for help to the Mother and my sea friends. I asked them for help as I sent out my distress call, "Help me with my search my friends," and with the speed of the internet the message spread through the ocean and the life below began their search.

"Guys you need to see this!" Nick gasped as the sea-life came alive

"What the Hell?" AJ asked as he peered out the window.

"Maybe they are looking for a way to get into the plane and start a feeding frenzy?" Howie worried

Even though he could barely keep his eyes open Brian knew without a doubt God has heard their prayers and he is sending a Guardian,

"No it's Mike," Brian smiled. His voice was still a whisper.

"Bri, how can that be?" Nick asked

"Mike is looking for us, just wait and see," Brian reaffirmed his faith in his love.

I was sitting in the cockpit BEATTI had taken over piloting since my mind was now busy. I soon found myself looking through the eyes of one of the creatures in the sea. The waters were murky and visibility poor. But the music could be heard from miles and with it traveling faster than anything man could ever dream up. Every creature was using the Earth magnetic field to find one object.

It was through the eyes of a whale that I could see beneath the waves. The majestic creature swam with grace and it kept me informed of the search. Her pod mates' songs filled me with joy as they told her where my love and his friends' plane laid. My mind's eye changed as I went to the closest creatures, a pair of crabs that could see the plane. From there the whale turned its mammoth head and I could see the plane in the ocean. It was on a precipice from where we could see the plane looked intact.

I moved the CH-53C over the sight my sea friends were showing me. Once in place and directing the radar to that location my marine friends showed me and it only confirmed that we found their plane.

"Dave! we found them!" I practically shouted

"Where," I could hear the excitement in his voice.

"They are at latitude 15 degrees longitude 21 degrees at a depth of 20 feet," I told him as I moved the Sea Dragon exactly over the crash site and I could confirm from the lack of debris floating to the top the airplane was still intact

"Send that to the Coast Guard, tell them that plane is for the moment intact" I told him

"And if they ask how we got this info what do I tell them?" Dave asked

"We had Divine intervention," I replied

A sudden sharp whistle from the whale alarmed me of the dangers below the surface. Turning my attention back to the search below. I saw that ocean currents had loosened some sediment and the cliff began sliding down the chasm. The plane was inching forward. It was dangerously close to falling into a chasm.

I turned to Dave. My voice was sharp and filled with a sense of danger, I was now panicking.

"Dave they're in trouble," I suddenly told him

"What's going on?" I heard the worry in his voice

"The ocean currents have loosened the seabed and the cliff their plane is starting to crumble." I informed my mentor taking another look at the screen my sonar showed a scary image: the chasm that plane was sliding towards, had a depth of 150 feet down into the ocean. The pressure at another 20 feet alone would crush the plane like a tin can.

"That plane is about to fall into a chasm that goes down another 150 feet," I told him

"It's going to take the Coast Guard hours to get to them," I heard the panic in Dave's voice.

I looked out at the ocean surface and I saw no other ships or even airplanes. The waters gently churned; it was falsely calm to what lies beneath its surface. Turning my mind's eye the watery deeps I could see the plane inching towards its doom. I knew my limits but I couldn't just sit here and do nothing. Below my chopper lay hundreds of innocent people, my lover, and my dear friends were all in peril and there was only one hope.

"They won't make it, which means there is only one person that can save them," I told him

"You are not thinking?" Dave gasped

"I don't have a choose," I told him getting out of my seat

"Mike even with your powers which I might add, are still developing you couldn't stay at the bottom of our lake for very long, that plane is down even further can you survive that depth that long," I heard Dave's plea

"Dave, if I don't try, that plane will slide another 150 feet. They are already 20 feet below water, another 20 feet and the water pressure is going to crush that plane flat," I snapped. I was well aware of the danger and mine is not as important as a plane filled with hundreds of people. I knew what I must do.

"There is no time to discuss this, Dave, I don't have much choice. My love is down there and so are my dearest friends, not to mention the hundreds of people," I told him without any further discussion I moved to the side of the Sea Dragon.

Opening the door I was met with a sudden rush of air and water droplets from the down draft from the blades. Beneath my feet nothing but ocean and a plane.

"Mother please let me be right about this," I prayed as I took a deep breath then stepped out of the CH-53C plunging into the watery depths.

I was too busy diving underwater to see the dark clouds forming over the ocean.

A moment in destiny was coming. Inside my helicopter its radar was screaming as an approaching storm sent it wailing.

Swimming beneath the waves and I sent out a telepathic call for some help, a humpback whale answered and the majestic creature came up beside me. I telepathically thanked her as I took hold of her. She was a much faster swimmer than I was. We went after my lover changing into a modified version of my Guardian costume minus the cloak and hood keeping the mask. We swam for Brian and the rest of the Backstreet Boys, not to mention the hundred or so innocent people needed me to do what I knew had to be done.

The closer I got to the plane the darker the clouds got. My personal helicopter found itself unable to maintain its location. The onboard wind indicators were reading wind speeds approaching 70 miles per hour. The winds forced BEATTI to gain altitude to avoid the storm that was brewing. As the chopper soared to the heavens lightning shot across the sky thunder rumbled. The waves began churning fiercely.

The plane rocked back and forth violently making the lights flicker, everyone screamed in fear as the plane's metal skin screeched and groaned as the underbelly rubbed against the stones. Kevin desperately held on to his cousin trying to keep his head still. Kevin was determined if they were bound for Heaven. At least the family would die together, AJ was praying and Nick began to cry. Howie had his eyes closed not wanting to see what might happen next.

The whale and I came up to the plane wreck. I could barely make it out against the murky ocean bottom, it was only a silhouette, just a rough outline was all I could make out. In spite of that I could see it inching forward, as I got closer I saw rocks and other debris rolling down the chasm.

The closer we got the clearer the shaking was getting. letting go of the whale I thanked her. Propelling myself towards the doomed plane I swam for the flight crew portion of the plane. Going up to the side windows I could barely make out the people inside. But they were really shaking as the plane slide toward the chasm

Something made AJ stop his praying as he snapped to look out his window and saw, "Guys there's someone swimming out there!" AJ cried out for joy.

"What?" Howie stammered as he cast his gaze out the porthole and saw a whale moving off and man swimming in the ocean.

"It's Mike," Brian whispered "Thank you God," Brian sighed as his eyes became heavy from his concussion.

"I hope you are right Bri," Kevin prayed

High above the ocean, the hurricane force wind churned the waters as lightning shot from cloud to cloud. Several bolts stuck the surface of the water thunder rolled as it filled the air.

From Hope Island Gaia watched as destiny was taking shape "Sol is coming," she said through tears. She could hear the screams to the people in the doomed plane she whispered "Help is on the way,"

In the Lair Dave, and Jake were stupefied as they watched what BEATTI was transmitting "What are we seeing?" Jake was mystified as he saw the darkened skies and lightning danced across the screen.

Dave watched and said "We are seeing the birth of something big,"

I swam for the forward fuselage and I looked down the chasm. All I saw was even darker water and no sea floor, that alone made me shudder. `Floating here looking at it is not going to save this plane,' I thought to myself. I swam to the nose when my hands made solid contact. I could feel the plane pushing against me, trying to push back. I wanted to get the plane back at least possibly buying time for the coast guard to come and rescue this jet.

Hoping to at least coax it back onto the ledge. More and more sediment was breaking loose and the plane's weight made it sink into the silty sand.

As I felt the metal being pushed in, `Nice job, for all my great strength all I managed to do was push in the raindome,' I huffed in frustration. As the nose cone bent more inward the metal around the nose cone bulged around it. The plane just continued to its murky demise, I felt really dizzy as I used up my oxygen. I had to keep fighting no matter the cost, I will not fail again. My boyfriend was in this plane. Depending on me, Brian's face appeared in my mind. Kevin, AJ, Howie and Nick all of their faces were flashing in my mind as I pushed harder on the plane. My friends were counting on me. I could hear the cries for help as people of all ages and backgrounds called out, So many more were depending on me to save them.

I was the Guardian dammit! I grunted pushing with all my might on the plane feeling the metal of the raindome bend some more but the plane was still moving forward despite my attempts.

I could also feel my life-force beginning to weaken. I knew I could die down here but I didn't care, honor, would not let me do this any other way.

In the watery depths of the deep chasm the seabed began to split and was ready to explode.

My vision blurred, my pulse was rapid, my strength weakened. I wanted to take a breath like never before, but knew I couldn't. Deep down the chasm the ocean floor exploded and molten rocks rushed forward. Dragging a rush of water along with it, the mix engulfed me. Despite being in hot magma I could actually breathe as the mass propelled me up to the surface, wrapping themselves around me, water mixed and mingled with the swirling earth and fire. My skin was scratched and scorched, and cooled all at the same time. Shooting out of the water at supersonic speeds into the sky lightning struck the encasement.

Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart, all of the elements of the Earth encased me filling me with their energy. First Earth, then Fire followed by Wind and then Water. The last Element to come forth was Heart deep within me as my own code of Honor and Faith in the Earth manifest themselves. They wrapped me in a cocoon high above the ocean. I felt the Earth as she lent me her strength and love. The encasement hardened and stayed in place while I continued to fly up my fist broke me free. I flew high, a white light trailed behind me, the storm began to dissipate and the sun rays shone through. Ocean waters beautifully reflected the sunlight. It was a symbol of a new beginning. When my voice finally returned it seemed to echo over the sea. "By the Powers Combined!" The sunlight reflected off my face "I am!" my voice shot out "Sol!" I finally shouted as I came to a halt in mid air .

Gaia witness the rebirth of her champion as his voice sent a shiver down her spine "Welcome Sol," Gaia smiled warmly

The monitors in the Lair with the aid of Mike's Sea Dragon and its cameras, all showed the same thing even the speakers seemed to amplify when Sol announced his return Dave knew that everything had changed. The world just got its champion back, and as they watched him float high above the ocean the Lair was silent as no one had words.

When everything seemed calm down I was looking down at the ocean then all around me I felt different and knew things that were truly out of this world. Taking a look at myself I saw that my skin was crystal blue. A dark blue vest that covered my chest and golden globe in the middle. I had the same color shorts with a black belt with a golden buckle. I also had matching dark blue gloves and so were my boots.

"Wow! This is so cool," I said to the Mother. I took note of my new deeper voice; it had a really bassist tone to it. "And to the matter at hand," I remembered there was a plane still inching towards that 150 foot deep chasm. Flying back down I dove back into the ocean. Just before re-entering the waters I saw my reflection. I also had lava red hair.

"I really dig my new look," I commented noting yet a new ability I could now talk under water without an oxygen tank, plowing into the sea floor and came out underneath the plane. Effectively halting its deadly plunge and with just a slight grunt I took the whole weight of the plane and lifted the wounded bird as if it weighed nothing. "This is not the Titanic, this plane doesn't belong on the seafloor," I stated and with that comment and with little effort. I lifted the whole plane and the both of us ascended to the surface of the Atlantic.

"Holy!" AJ swore as the plane rocked he was afraid that the airplane was finally going over the side. However when AJ saw water cascading off the window, and sunlight was illuminating the inside of the darkened interior. AJ looked in total disbelief at the brilliant blue sky; this was the last thing AJ ever thought he would see again.

"This is too unreal," Howie confessed looking out the window and seeing the ocean surface thanking God over and over again.

"He did it," Brian confirmed his faith in his boyfriend and God never wavered

"Who Mike?" Nick asked

"Yes," Brian reaffirmed

Above the ocean and with Brian's plane in my hands I was amazed at my new strength, "Honor had call and Honor was fulfilled," I noted

I looked out at the sky and saw my Sea Dragon still hovering over the ocean. Knowing there was little point in having her just floating there

"BEATTI you can head back to land, I think I can handle it from here, and have Dave tell the Coast Guard to stand down," I flew back towards the closest shorelines "Get a medical team to the Jersey Shore that is where I am taking this wounded bird," I ordered as I flew with jet in hand back to dry land.

"Understood," BEATTI complied, as she followed behind me.

As we neared the beach I could see several dozen flashing as emergency vehicles lined along the sands.

The jet and I came up to the New Jersey's shoreline. I could hear cheers as I saw the medical personnel waiting for us to get closer. I gradually lowered us until my feet touched the beach. Turning myself into mist the plane was gently brought down on the sandy beach. Coming out of the sand I reformed myself then flying up to the forward door. I ripped it from its hinges as if it was made of cardboard. Activating emergency ramps and as it inflated.

"This is Air Sol thanking everyone for remaining seated while we came to a full and complete stop," I smiled as the first person came to the ramp.

"Please watch your step and have a nice day," I said as I saw the lifeguards and emergency personnel converging on the plane. Knowing that all of the passengers were going to be in safe hands. I took off to intercept BEATTI once I was close enough I called out, "The Power is Yours!" a flash of light later and Sol returned to the Earth. I remained in midair. While the immediate connection I had with the Mother was damped now that Sol had returned to the Earth. I never lost the connection to her and it gave me a new source of strength. My powers though a fraction compared to that of Sol's. They were far stronger then when I first received them. I was going to have to relearn them again. My Sea Dragon was blotting out the sun as she hovered over me. The port hatch opened and I flew up to it climbing on board. We stayed in the area so I could watch as my boyfriend and his friends were carried out of the plane and into an ambulance.

BEATTI managed to find the frequency they were using and we were able to find out where the Backstreet Boys were being taken. We followed their ambulance "Gaia what just happened?" I finally asked I needed to know why what just happened, happened.

"You took the final step," Gaia told me appearing before my helicopter in her spirit form

"What do you mean?" I queried.

"You were down there and knew you weren't going to make it," Gaia answered

"That was hope Mike and that is why you are Sol," Gaia smiled her motherly smile while I was touched

"This is what Captain Planet meant when he said I had to let go?" I asked

"Yes, of all the things you did in New York, what you did there at the bottom of the ocean was the key," Gaia acknowledged.

"But that is something I would have done regardless, honor wouldn't allow me to do otherwise" I spoke up.

"Yes, you would have, but this time it was important, because you did it for love," Gaia smiled

This really confused me Gaia went on, "You took the chance because Brian and the rest of the Backstreet Boys were endangered, you did it because of so many innocent lives that were at stake you took that leap of faith,"

"For there is no greater love hath no man, nor being then to give their life for another," Gaia stated which gave me pause but I couldn't deny that I was now whole and a new wave of hope filled me. Then I knew that my life just got a whole lot more interesting.

"We are very proud of you Michael Pennock, now go see your boy he'll need your healing powers," Gaia told me

With a fulfilling smile I flew my chopper continuing to following the ambulance with the Backstreet Boys to the hospital.

And this is where I end this chapter. I hope you all enjoy this as much I do writing it. Sol is now born and the adventure goes on.
