To those who've been reading Tales of Sol. I want you to know that while there is sex in this story. That is not is sole purpose and yes I do hope the sex sense makes you all hard and gets you off.

Sol is an adaption from my childhood favorite show Captain Planet and the Planeteers, The cartoon showed us that the world can be a better place if we took a few moments to care for it.

Tales of Sol is meant to express hope.

It is also shows how music can have an impact in our lives. While I don't know if my favorite bands 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys or Nsync have ever read this. They saw me through some of the hardest moments of my life and offered in their own way hope. To them I say thank you.

I dedicate the Tales of Sol to all of my brothers and sisters of the US armed service past, present, and future.

I like to thank my friends who I had the privilege showing these chapters with. They helped with editing and inspiration,

John Rivera, Albert-Russ Alan Rivera-Odum, Derbe.D. Hunte Yvette Ortiz Samuel Diaz Jr for all their help in Making The Tales of Sol an enjoyable story to write.

The Tales of Sol 50 Protecting the Big Apple

I heard the sounds of the new day as I woke up from the birds beautiful song to the sounds of city life. I turned to see my beloved sleeping like an angel. Leaning over I kissed his cheek and felt him put his arms around me and pulled me in "Morning," he whispered "Morning love," I kissed his temple I got out of bed and made my way to the balcony. The morning air was crisp and in the distance the first rays of the morning light was making its way over the horizon. It's rays struck my globe making it hum as it took in the warm energy.

Turning my eyes skyward the last of the stars fading as the closest light source drowned them out. One of the reasons I wanted Dave to go to our hanger was to untie BEATTI so I could have her ready.

"BEATTI come in," I said in my combadge

"Morning sir," I heard

"Can you fly?" I asked

"Dave freed me and I can open the hangar bay doors," my computer replied

"Okay let me know when you are ready to fly I will cover you," I told her

"I already powered everything up and I can exit the hanger," BEATTI reported, making my eyes glow. I used the morning mist to help create a dense fog enough to cover BEATTI movements. Of all the things she can do, her on board electronics can't hide from the tower's many eyes.

"I am clear sir," my computer replied. I dropped the fog knowing she was now high enough and out of the range of the airport.

"Hey," I heard the still groggy voice coming from behind me. I turned to see Brian coming out in only his boxers.

"Hello love," I went over to him

"What are you doing out of bed?" I asked him

"I reached over to hug you and all I got was air," Brian grumbled

"Aww," I said as I put my arms around him.

"What'ya doing?" He asked

"I am watching the sun come up," I told him

"Okay," Brian shrugged

"We take a lot for granted Brian one of them is the Sun," I told him

"Hey all I know is when the sun is up, Kevin is up ordering breakfast," He laughed

"I can see that but without the light how can we see the darkness," I told him

"Are we getting into our preachy side this morning?" Brian chuckled

"No just reminding my boyfriend that he is out on this balcony in nothing but his boxers, and now the whole world can see him," I pointed out.

He looked down at himself and began to blush "Oh,"

We went back inside where Brian laid back down "What are you doing?" I chuckled.

"I didn't get my morning kiss," Brian pouted through his closed eyes. He looked too damn cute when he pouted

"Morning Brian," I said as I kissed him again on the cheek

"That is not the kiss I had hoped for," Brian gripped jokingly I sighed comically,

"Let see what I can do about that," I remarked as I pulled him in and kissed him on his lips this time

Brian put his arms around me and pulled me tighter and kissed me even deeper. I knew then that we were meant to be.

When we pulled away, "That was much better," Brian's sweet laughter was its own melody.

"I never want to be accused of not giving you my best," I smirked.

"Never," he whispered, moving in for another kiss.

"Awww, how sweet," We turned to see Nick standing at the doorway only in his boxers making kissing noises.

Grabbing my pillow Brian hurled it at his friend. Brian's aim was true, hitting Nick squarely in the chest. The impact even pushed Nick back a few inches he doubled over in laughter making us laugh with him

"Get out so we can get dressed," Brian ordered

"Well except for Mike you have nothing I haven't seen before," Nick commented.

I was about to comment when a ping hit me. This got their attention as I tried to concentrate on it

"Mike what is it?" Brian held me

"I am getting a ping from the Earth," I told him both Brian and Nick looking at me

"And why does the Earth send them?" Nick asked

"The same reason for any early warning system," I replied

"There is danger," Brian finished

"Exactly, Will Robinson, and while I am never sure where that trouble is, when I first receive a Pings I know it is close and I need to pay attention," I told them.

The ping grew louder making me put my head in my hands and close my eyes tight. I really needed to concentrate on what the Earth's wanted me to hear. Through all the noise of a bustling city I heard the sounds of metal scrapping metal, mixed with the screams of people in terror. I focused on those images getting out of bed. I grabbed my pants and pulling out my combadge and called "BEATTI come in,"

"What the hell is that?" Brian demanded

"I will tell you later and I might just give you one," I told Brian

"I am here sir," came my AI

"Scan the area, and tell what you can see from your vantage point?" I demanded

"There is a elevated train out of control traveling at 110 mph, sir," the AI reported

"Any danger in its current path?" I asked

"Not at the moment, but it will reach Penn's Station within minutes, so it leaves you enough time, to get your pants on," BEATTI reported

"Smart ass computer," I growled. "AJ was right, guys I have to try to catch a train," I said in a hurried voice.

"We will be here when you get back," Brian kissed me on the lips in a quick change and I was on the balcony watching a cable line was lowered and I was soon hosted up.

Brian watched in awe and confusion, when he heard his room's phone go off,

Nick answered "We will be there, but Mike will be a touch late,"

"Tell me what is going on?" I demanded when I grabbed the controls "There is a elevated train heading eastbound, out of control, heading for Penn Station," BEATTI reported

"We don't have a lot of time then," I flew the Sea Dragon to intercept the runaway train

"At its current speed of 110 mph the subway should reach Penn Station in ten minutes," BEATTI reported

"Like I said, we don't have a lot of time to to waste," I grumbled

"Where is Mike?" Kevin asked, when Brian and Nick entered his room "Mike had urgent business to take care of," Brian stated

"Such as?" Kevin asked

"Hey guys check the news," Howie called everyone's attention to the TV.

"We are live at Penn Station, where New York Public Transit has reported, one of its trains is out of control and heading for Penn Station," The Reported said

Using Mike's word "He had a train to catch," Nick answered

Pulling down my Guardian's costumes hood I looked over the side as we came up to the subway line "Where is the train now," I demanded

"Still traveling at 110 mph, and coming our way in five minutes," BEATTI reported I looked and saw the very train. Even up here I could see the sparks flying as the train's brakes failed to stop the runaway.

"Now it gets interesting," I said as I went to the side and jumped out. Landing on the elevated bridge I saw the very train coming at me at ungodly speeds. I was the only thing that literally stood between that train and Penn Station. The train and I met with enough force to crush me into paste.

I was not only still alive, but pushing back with even greater force "Ugh!" I grunted

"Time to iron out our problems," I said as I changed my body into iron and soon the screeching sounds of the failing brakes and my iron body scraping the concrete of the bridge. "Come to New York, you will have a blast, they said," I groaned

"You just got to try catching a New York Subway it is an experience you will never forget," I grumbled "By the Mother's Hand AJ, you weren't whistling Dixie," I grumbled as the train continued to move despite my efforts

"All this ironing is getting me a little warm but it hasn't removed this wrinkle so I need to think of another approach," I groaned

"Maybe a little fire will help my feet are burning as it is," I jumped and ignited my feet with a shove. Progress was finally made as the train finally slowed down.

I finally got the train to come to a complete stop, at a berth inside Penn Station, and jumped on to the platform as the train came within mere inches from a train that was still there. "Last stop, everyone out," I said.

The doors flew open and the mad rush of passengers ran onto the platform.

Everyone ran out of the train, even as emergency personnel rushed the train to get order back. Helping those who were injured. People still ran for cover while others began to call their loved ones. While others hugged each other and just prayed to their spiritual being for thanks and what have you.

I moved out of the throngs of people wiping the sweat from my brow.

I had several reporters and police converge on me "Thank you so much," one Officer said

"I'd say no sweat but that would be a lie," I said as I was still wiping sweat from my face.

This made several people laugh "Who are you?" One Reporter asked

"Just call me Guardian, now if you will excuse me I think I pulled a muscle," I said as I pulled out my grappling gun and fired it overhead once I was on the roof BEATTI lowered a line and hosted me back to her.

After climbing back on board "Catch a train," I fell back into the cockpit seat,

"I doubt that was what you meant, AJ," I huffed as the CH-53C flew back to the hotel

Returning to the balcony I was still in my Guardian outfit "Damn you are also the Guardian?" I whirled around in shock. Brian was grinning. I was too stunned as he helped me back into the hotel.

Brian as he swept me up in a hug "I take it you saw?" I laughed when my voice returned

"We all did," Brian said Looking around the empty room I quickly changed, Brian just watched with pride "When Jeff introduced us I never imagined I find myself dating the Guardian,"

I blushed, "I hope this isn't too much for you,"

"Not at all, everything just make more sense now," Brian confidently responded

I sighed in contentment knowing my love wasn't rejecting all of this.

Brian and I returned to the common room. The whole band was still there and it seems they were waiting for me to return to get breakfast.

"You guys didn't have to wait for me you know," I pointed out

"We didn't actually, this hotel has a reputation of being slow, and they are I ordered while you were on your rescue mission and they still haven't arrived," Kevin said

Nick's grumble makes us all laugh.

"Great if you will excuse me but I need another shower after my morning work out," I said

"Can I join you?" Brian asked

"Let's take this slow love," I told him

Brian looked sadden but he did get up and let me shower alone. I hated it but this was necessary at least for now. When I got up I went to my shower. There was a reason I wanted to be alone "BEATTI how is it going?" I asked

"I am now out of the immediate area and have returned to the hangar without being detected," She reported

"Anything new from Dave?" I asked

"He made it back to Philadelphia without any incidents," BEATTI answered

I got into the shower the warm water did much to relieve the tension in my shoulders.

"The next time I think I will catch a train the normal way, like everyone else," I mumbled. I got out and got dressed just as I was coming out of the room. There was a knock at the door and the food had finally arrived much to Nick's delight.

"So how did it go by the way," Howie asked after everyone grabbed something from the cart

"Let me put it this way, AJ your choice of words could use some work," I remarked

"Hey, when I said you should try catching a train while you were here, I didn't think you take it quite that literal," AJ replied in his own defense

"It was an experience I won't soon forget," I laughed as I rubbed my shoulders

We sat there having breakfast. I told them of my exploits. They were all very interested in my dealing with the Pie Piper, and how Dana aka Razeel, and I rescued Jake from Elizar freeing thousands of trapped soldiers in the process. Nick loved hearing how I made a criminal literally run through a convenience store glass door.

Kevin asked about the Mutant Awareness Charity and how the Guardian handled those gunmen and their loudmouth ringleader. I loved telling them about Guardian's adventures but it did make me miss Jeff a lot.

"So Mike, will you be coming to our rehearsal?" Nick asked

"Afraid not I have to head back to Xavier's school today for more training," I told him

I could see the disappointment in his eyes I then said, "But I will be over as soon as we are done,"

He seemed to be satisfied with the answer. I got up and went back into my room where I pulled out the cross I made for Brian, coming back to Kevin's room I brought it out.

"Before I forget Brian I saw this at a store on my way back to the hotel the other day and I had to get it," I told him.

I pulled out the box "Is it too soon for that?" Nick joked

This time I blushed and said "it's not that,"

Brian opened the box and pulled out the cross. I was very proud of myself. It was encrusted with an array of stones and gems but it was still simple enough that it could be worn without being seen.

"It's lovely," Brian awed as he allowed the sunlight to filter through the gems.

We finished our breakfast then we left for our day's event.

I was greeted by Iceman at the door of the mansion "Hey Mike how is it going?" he asked

"It is all going well," I told him

"I know I have no right to ask this Mike but who are you seeing?" Iceman asked

"A very special person one that was set up by the Mother," I told him

"You're not going to tell me are you?" Iceman asked

"It's not my place to reveal anyone sexuality without their okay," I told him firmly

"Yeah I can see that being a good idea," He conceded my warning

"So what's on the agenda today?" I asked

"So more Danger Room activity and then the Professor want to test each of us individually," Bobby replied

As we walked into the mansion I turned to Iceman and said "I know of you break up with Beast and all I can say is your other half will find you," I told him

Iceman stopped in his tracks and said, "How did you know about Beast, and I?"

"I saw it during a recent rescue mission I went on," I told him

"But how?" He demanded

"Too find this person I had to tap into the one source that had the answers," I told him

"Who would know that kind of stuff?" Bobby asked as we made our way to the Danger Room.

"There are many actually Iceman but this one was more close to home," I told him

This seemed to confuse him more but I was getting too close to revealing things that I really shouldn't be telling.

"Who?" He wanted to know

"Iceman I am sure there is talk about my belief system," I redirected

"Yeah you're a Wiccan," He stated

"Is that so?" I raised an eyebrow

"Yeah all of this Mother this, and Mother that," Iceman said

"Well I hate to disappoint you but I don't follow the Wiccan faith," I told him

"You don't?" He asked

"No I am the Earth's Guardian, I protect her children from the darkness," I told him

"So this Mother you refer to is the Earth?" Iceman queried

"Yes I call her the Mother because of what she is," I told him

We arrived at the Danger Room where we met the rest. "Okay Today we decided to instead just test each of you individually," Cyclops stated "Hey Mike we saw the news they spoke of your alter ego saving that train," Scott remarked

"Believe me, it looked a lot easier then it actually was," I said as I rubbed my shoulder.

"I don't doubt so today we are going test everyone's powers," Scott said

Cyclops asked Iceman to stay and for the rest of us to go to the observation room. We watched as Iceman ran an obstacle course using his mutant powers when he needed to like when he had to jump a gorge. He ran the whole course until the end where he was subjected to a Sentinel when it fired on him. Iceman dodged the blast and put his hand on the robot's left leg and sent ice up its trunk freezing the Sentinel into a giant snowman. It fell over exploding on impact sending debris both metal and ice every which way the hologram fizzled out until only the Danger Room's holo grid was all that was left. After he exited we all congratulated him on completion "Guardian if you like to be next?" Cyclops inquired

"Gladly," I replied as I entered the Danger Room I was given the same terrain that Iceman had. Starting with the obstacle course.

"Reminds me of Boot Camp, except without the laser cannons and toy robots," I remarked as I came up to the wall, leaping and grabbing the highest rung and pulling myself over. I jumped off but before landing I fired a grappling line latching onto a tree five meters in front of me. Swinging from it landing just before the gorge looking over the edge I saw that the river below was a long way down. Pulling out my Fighting Pike and hitting the release button I pointed one end at a tower rock face and it collapsed forming a bridge. Running across it I came up to the Sentinel and it fired a steel cable at me. I let it take hold after it wrapped around my body a few times grabbing the cable with both hands. I sent an electrical charge up it. Just before the bolt could reach the Metal Giant it cut the connection and it fired a laser blast at me turning my body into mist both dodging the laser blast and freeing myself from the steel cable at the same time. When the laser hit the cable it began to glow red hot. Taking hold of it I am sure I made many cringe as I picked up hot steel as if it were nothing. I began to mold the hot metal until it turned into a cannonball.

"I always loved playing catch," I said. When the Sentinel fired another blast at me I threw the cannonball into the laser port in its right hand effectively blocking it. Like a backup water hose under pressure the whole right arm exploded. Though missing an arm the Sentinel still carried out its attack and fired into the ground which exploded sending everything including me flying into the air. I struck a tree at full impact feeling several ribs break. I cried in pain but the Earth quickly came to my aid and healed most of the damage. The Sentinel towered over me and it fired another steel cable.

"Well this is déjà vu," I commented, turning myself back into mist freeing myself from the cable. As the Sentinel started to reel the line back in I grabbed it.

"Here let me help you," I ran with the cable wrapping it around the Sentinel when I was done I was standing on it head "You're getting too wrapped up in this hunt," I smirked I jumped off with the cable still in my hand landing in front of the Sentinel as it tried to free itself.

"Here let me help you unwind," I pulled on the line and like a top the Sentinel spun so fast all of its nuts and bolts shot out. When it was done spinning all that remained was a smoking pile of parts ready for the recycling plant. When the holo-environment faded around me adrenaline was still coursing in my blood. Making my way to the exit I was still a bit tender where my ribs were healing, but it was truly nothing the X-Men came up to me.

"Sugar, that was one of the best matches I've seen in a long time," Rogue smiled

"Thanks I could do better but didn't want to look like I was showing off," I laughed trying to wave off my accomplishment.

"Are you going to be okay?" Cyclops asked, pointing to my torso and the blood that had stained my Guardian costume "In about a few moments you wouldn't know anything happened," I reassured the X-Men leader.

Each member ran the same course and each completed it in their own way when we exited the Danger Room "Would you mind staying for lunch?" Iceman asked

"I can't have a prior engagement to go to," I smiled thinking of my love doing what he loves. I left the mansion and made my way through the bustling city. I found a vendor that was selling New York style bagels which wasn't too far from the studio and with my super hearing I could hear them sing. I felt the Earth swell with pride as she heard them through my ears. After paying for the bagels I made my way to the studio the guard allowed me to enter without any trouble. Tuning my hearing down now that I was indoors I was now able to see them dancing to one of their songs. It took me a moment to realize it was from 'Everybody'

"Am I sexual?" I heard Nick sing

"YEAH," I heard the choir

Brian saw me and began to sing his heart out. "Am I everything need you better rock your body now,"

"That Brian that is how I want you to sound," The choreographer praised as the rest matched Brian's tempo.

"What's got into you Brian?" Kevin asked when they were given a break.

"Oh let's just say my muse showed up," Brian smirked pointing my way.

Nick spotted the bagels "And he comes bearing gifts,"

Henry knew better then to stop them as the whole band left the stage and bum rushed to hug me when they were done. I passed out the bagels including the cream cheese, and I told them about today's training session. Henry growled as he ordered them back to the stage. I in turn shot Henry a very stern look.

He actually gulped and then said, "Guys please come back we need to practice for the concert,"

As I watched them practice.

Tony walked over and said, "You have got to teach me that trick," As the Backstreet Boys sang they would each look my way and it was as if they were using my presence to enhance their performance. I was both flattered and humbled.

Turning my attention back to Tony "What trick?" I asked

"Henry loves being bossy and I have had to correct him on several occasions," Tony answered then the Tour Manager laughed "All you did was give Henry, a look, one that I have only seen military people give, and that was enough to make Henry nearly piss his pants,"

I just shook my head, "I get that he needs to get them to practice for the concert,"

"And we have had to get them to focus some times too," Tony commented

"All of that can be achieved," I supplied

Tony nodded, "Without giving everyone a hard time,"

Then he smiled, "But if all I had to do was sternly look at someone like you just did my job would be so much easier,"

I just laughed that off "It takes years of having Officers and Chiefs staring you down to master it," I laughed Tony laughed right along with me. Then we returned to watching the Backstreet Boys practice their numbers.

By the time they were finished the sun had set and we were on our way back to the limo to go out to dinner. Being in their company most definitely had its advantages. We went to another high-scale restaurant. We each ordered our food and were talking to each other as we waited for it to come up. "By the Mother's Hand," I laughed as Brian told a story about one of their trips to Europe when Nick got so drunk that they had to sneak him past their own bodyguards.

"We are losing control!" I heard over the chatter of the restaurant followed by a ping from the Mother.

"Something hit our tail rotor," I my hearing picked up

Brian saw my far off look and put his hand on my lap and in a whisper asked, "What's wrong?"

"We are losing altitude!" I picked up

"I am hearing a distress call," In a low voice I told him

"Do you think you will be needed?" Brian whispered

"Not until I know where the distress call is coming from," I shook my head not liking this at all.

"We've lost control," my super hearing heard.

"Debris has entered the starboard intake duct. Engines are now on fire!" I heard the pilot report to whoever she was talking to.

"Mike, what are you looking at?" AJ asked

"Sorry today is just filled with adventures," I said

"What do you mean?" Kevin asked

"I will tell you more later but let's just say it is just a whirl of fun," I remarked

"We've lost control over the helicopter. I repeat we have zero flight controls!" I heard

"If you excuse me but I need to use the men's room," I said getting up

"What was that all about?" Kevin asked

"Well when you gotta go you got to go," AJ commented

I came up to the restroom and then left to find a quick route out the door without the rest spotting me.

After that feat was done I pulled out my com-badge and said, "BEATTI?"

"On-Line sir," I heard

"Where are you?" I asked

"I am several hundred feet above your restaurant," She answered

"Have you picked up a distress call?" I inquired

"Affirmative," BEATTI replied

"Where is it?" I asked

"About three kilometers south and the helicopter is at 1500 feet and falling," BEATTI reported

"Can we make it before it hits the deck?" I asked

"We have twenty second to get there," BEATTI reported.

"Then we better get cracking," I said, pulling out my grappling gun and firing straight up.

The line latched on to BEATTI's port spylon and I hoisted myself up. "What are the guys up to?" I asked knowing full well that they each now had a probe on them.

"They are still waiting for their dinner sir," BEATTI reported

"If we save this pilot and it isn't there when we get back I am suing," I laughed as my Guardian suit finished forming with my mask going over my mouth. "ETA?" I queried

"Twenty point three seconds," My computer reported

"Time to impact?" I asked

"Nineteen point five seconds," My chopper spoke.

Just as we were moving in on the scene an object blurred past us, and made its way to the damaged chopper. "Report!" I ordered

BEATTI took a moment then stated, "An organic object past within ten meters of us,"

"Did you get an image?" I asked

"Negative," BEATTI responded

The Choppers decent slowed but not by much "BEATTI can we get a line do to that helicopter?" I queried

"Negative sir the rotors are still moving too fast and if we were to latch on to the tail boom it would rip the damage helicopter apart," BEATTI complied

"Okay, then what we need is a plan B," I said as we moved in to support the rescue.

BEATTI managed to get a look at the belly of the aircraft and we got a good look of the creature trying to stop the helicopter's crash landing.

It looked like a Gargoyle with its massive wings and pointy ears and it all came together. "Identify," I ordered

The claw marks I was now able to place them, Gargoyles have returned to the waking world; they were the only thing on this planet that had that kind of strength. That knowledge came from my connection to the Earth and this was really starting to come in handy.

"It is a creature of unknown origin," BEATTI reported

"It is a Gargoyle, BEATTI, now that I know they have reawakened I will add them to your database," I confirmed for her.

"We will worry about it when we save that chopper," I said, getting out of my seat and heading for the rear of the CH-53C to the port side door.

"Sir I don't recommend you going out there," BEATTI stated

"What choice do we have, if we don't that gargoyle will get killed, and that chopper will crash if we do nothing," I said back, opening the hatch and being pushed back slightly by the sudden change in air pressure. I was able to move again when the pressure equalized.

"Good point Sir, but do you think you have sufficient power to stop that wounded helicopter?" BEATTI conceded with a question

"We are about to find out," I said as I jumped out of the Sea Dragon.

Hurtling at over five feet at minute I came up to the chopper using my powers to slow my descent and bringing myself to the belly of the helicopter.

"Could you use a hand?" I asked the gargoyle as I took hold of the weight.

"You could say that," The gargoyle deep bass responded

Igniting my feet "It worked this morning," I recalled as I used the flame to give us the necessary force to slow the rapidly falling and still spinning the chopper enough to where we could handle it better. The most we were able to do was stop the spinning but everything else was still going to come to a crashing end if we didn't do anything.

"You are most powerful," The gargoyle growled

"Thanks to the Mother," I groaned as we tried to slow the descent even further.

"I don't think we can hold on for much longer," I told him

"What do you suggest?" The gargoyle asked

"I think I can hold the chopper long enough for you to get the crew to safety," I informed the gargoyle.

"Are you sure?" He asked

"The longer we debate the less time we have," I groaned

He nodded and left my side then flew back up to the cockpit ripping the doors off he got the crew out and told me over the rushing winds, "We are clear,"

Looking down at the ground I saw that there were still hundreds of cars below and I couldn't see how many might be walking down there and if this thing crashed a lot of people could still be harmed.

So I let go and grabbed hold of the tail boom and using all of my strength I spun the chopper around, and hurled it into the Hudson.

Pulling out my grappling hook and I fired it up latching on to my own Sea Dragon and reeled myself back up. I wasn't in the cockpit for more then five seconds when the gargoyle glided up beside us.

"I never got the chance to thank you," He smiled I looked at him for am moment now that I could see him up then said "It was my pleasure,"

"My name is Goliath," He spoke

"The name is Guardian," I smiled back. It took that moment for me to realize I was correct in my earlier assumption this was a real Gargoyle. In fact I've met this one before but I wasn't sure where my mind saw us fighting side by side at one point in history. "I am sorry Goliath but you look familiar," I told him

"Have we met before?" The gargoyle asked

"I am not sure it just you feel so familiar to me for some reason," I supplied

"Well then perhaps we will meet again," He said as he soared into the night sky. BEATTI and I flew back to the restaurant where I changed back into my civvies then went back in.

"Sorry for being gone so long," I apologized

"It's okay the food just arrived," Brian informed me we heard Nick grumble as he began to dig into his dinner

Brian looked at me turning to him "I will tell you later," I spoke to him Brian shook his head. The food for this high price establishment was okay. I wasn't going to rave over it. Judging by the looks on the rest of their faces I wasn't the only one to think it. I saw it in the eyes of Nick and AJ. Brian as well but we ate it and left moments later after Howie left a generous tip. After dinner we were met by Frank telling us the limousine was waiting for us as we exited the restaurant I was hit by a ping from the Mother followed a bout of Deja'vu "What is happening today?" I grumbled Brian turned to me

"I should never have gotten out of bed," I complained.

"Guys I get out of here I have some more business here before I can get back," Brian just shook his head as he allowed Frank to escort them away with a wave of my hand. I had my Mek'Leth teleported from the Sea Dragon.

I felt yet another presence "Jesus how can demons stupid," I swore as I felt another Kailiff Demon and his band of Bringers. There were a bit more this time of round though at at least 4 Kailiffs and four Bringers this time.

My Mek'Leth formed just in time to block a knife attack, one from Bringer slashing with its wicked looking knife. I took the palm of my hand and struck the demon in the jaw. Sending it flying across the street and into a telephone pole. The Bringer hit it so hard that a wire snapped and swung down and around the Bringer electrocuting it. I brought my Mek'Leth around to intercept the Kailiff demon's slashing attack. The two weapons collided with a bone jarring impact. We seemed to be equally matched in strength in between the strokes I had to ask, "What is it this about?"

"You are to be destroyed," the Kailiff spoke, as its thrust sword was my way.

"For what reason?" I demanded as I blocked the attack with the short blade

"The Master demands it," the Kailiff spoke as it tried for another swing.

I swung my Mek'Leth around catching the demon's chin with an end of it this sent the Kailiff spinning around right into trash can. I felt a breath on my neck and I shoved my Mek'Leth behind me. The Klingon sword bit into flesh. I spun around and drove the heel of my hand under the Kailiff send both demon and sword flying backward. With the blade still in the demon's chest it's lost momentarily left me without a weapon but I also knew that it was insufficient at the moment. I needed a weapon that can handle these attack.

When a Bringer came at me with another slash attack I flipped out of the way. Landing slightly on my hands using the movement. To kick the Bringer in the chin sending it flying into the Kailiff. It gave me the breathing space to use to teleport my Bat'Leth off of the Sea Dragon and into my hand.

"Now this weapon has a bit more of a cutting edge," it formed in time to intercept the demons as they rushed towards me. My first slash attack struck the Kailiff in the chest making it cry out a dying howl. I brought the Bat'Leth up in time to intercept the swords coming my way. The larger weapon was better able to fend off the multiple blades. It allowed me to block and attack at the same time. A Bringer swiped its knife at me. I blocked it and shoved my foot into its gut and right into a sword of the Kailiff that was charged right behind it. The Kailiff tried to get the Bringer off its sword, I had other ideas as I brought the Bat'Leth down, shoving the blade through the Bringer, the Kailiff's sword and into the Kailiff demon itself. I didn't bother to watch it fall as I was still very busy. I shoved the blade forward driving it into the Bringers chin knocking backwards completing the swing. I brought the blade around with enough strength to cut through both steel, flesh, and bone as my Bat'Leth cut into the demon.

The final parry was hooking the Bat'Leth on the final Bringers right leg making it fall back to the ground before it could get back up. I brought my sword down into the Bringers exposed chest.

I turned to face my next enemies I still had two Kailiffs and a Bringer, to deal with they were both armed with a blade of some kind. The Bringers of course looked very nasty which would leave a very nasty wound so I plan not to be struck by it. So I swatted the hand holding the knife making him lose it. With the Bringer temporarily out of the fight I was able to concentrate on the last remaining Kailiff our weapons came together with an painful impact. The Kailiff made another swipe I moved to the side allowing it to sink into the Bringer behind me. The Bringer took the Kailiff's sword with it when it fell over. Though unarmed the demon was if anything defeated with swing of its meaty fist catching my chin sending me into a parked car. I hit the car so hard it exploded on impact.

"Augh!" I cried out as the gasoline soaked through my clothes and into my skin sapping the very strength out of me. The toxic smoke coming from the burning car didn't help. I groaned in pain, coughing as the pollutants weakened me. I jumped off the car only to fall into a crouch position trying to focus the pain into a source of energy to fight with. I could barely sense the Kailiff as it stood over me with its sword back in its hand. Apparently it had pulled it out of the corpse of the Bringer. It positioned the sword to stab my neck but I somehow rolled out of the way and brought my Bat'Leth up in time to block the blow.

I tried to push the pain aside. The toxicity of the gasoline had taken its toll. I couldn't even feel the Mother and I was having trouble breathing.

I struggled to fend off the Bringer and Kailiff as they took advantage of my weakened state. Barely managing to block a blow from the Kailiff, when it brought down its sword I grabbed a metal shard that used to be a part of the now burning car, and threw it at the Kailiff as it backed away. The shard struck the demon impaling itself into its heart. I didn't even have time to see it fall. I turned to see a Bringer as it was just about to make a fatal blow. In fact there was little I could do as I felt over the last thing I remember seeing metal claws protrude from its chest I sighed in relief with the gas continuing to sap my strength I could hardly move. I didn't feel the hands that grabbed a hold of me pulling me out of the danger zone. While someone else had grabbed my Bat'Leth I didn't have the strength to even turn my head.

"Guardian?" The voice inquired trying to get my attention but every second the gasoline coated my body the more it took from me the world was fading fast "Brian," I softly spoke as I lost consciousness.

My body was failing but my mind was still desperately attempting to hold on. I telepathically sent a plea for help to the Earth herself. 'Mother!' was the last thing I was able to do before the darkness took hold

on a side note all of this takes places after the events of 9/11 just so you all have a sense of chronological order and understanding. I began writing Sol after reading Tales of a Real Dark Knight while I was still in the Navy and have been working on it for the last 13 or so years.

I also recommend the following stories it was because of them I got into writing in the first place.

"Tales of a Real Dark Knight" by authorjames

"Marvel Knights" also by authorjames

"Tales of the New Phoenix" by Blake

"Tales of a Superhero Band" by Leo

"Tales of a Young Mutant" by Jeremi

"Tales of a Thunder God" by Tony Justiss

Next: Chapter 51
