To those who've been reading Tales of Sol. I want you to know that while there is sex in this story. That is not is sole purpose and yes I do hope the sex sense makes you all hard and gets you off.

Sol is an adaption from my childhood favorite show Captain Planet and the Planeteers, The cartoon showed us that the world can be a better place if we took a few moments to care for it.

Tales of Sol is meant to express hope.

It is also shows how music can have an impact in our lives. While I don't know if my favorite bands 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys or Nsync have ever read this. They saw me through some of the hardest moments of my life and offered in their own way hope. To them I say thank you.

I dedicate the Tales of Sol to all of my brothers and sisters of the US armed service past, present, and future.

I like to thank my friends who I had the privilege showing these chapters with. They helped with editing and inspiration,

John Rivera, Albert-Russ Alan Rivera-Odum, Derbe.D. Hunte Yvette Ortiz Samuel Diaz Jr for all their help in Making The Tales of Sol an enjoyable story to write.

And I have a few other names starting with the beginner of this universe James the author of Tales of a Real Dark Knight. I still hope to reconnect with you dear friend and all the rest of this series.

The Tales of Sol 35 Changes in Reality

Passing through the barrier I felt a cold sensation as if a part of me was left behind. My connection to the Earth has been greatly weakened and so have my powers.

"Guardian?" Razeel was concerned

"My powers were affected my connection to the Earth has been weakened," I answered

"How bad?" Razeel asked

I got back up as my equilibrium adjusted but I felt my powers are at least 1/10 of their original strength, "My powers are weak, but I still can use them," I answered. The first thing I noticed is that the smells of the Delaware River and Philadelphia have vanished, replaced by the sweet scent of flowers and a grassy meadow.

I looked up taking a moment to observe our new surroundings. Which confirmed that we were definitely not in Philadelphia any more. Gone were skyscrapers and musty smells of the bustling city. The night skies of Philadelphia were replaced by a bright sunny and crystal blue skies and the grassy meadow was absolutely beautiful. A single tree stood at the top of the hill; it seemed to be the only thing that offered any kind of shade from the sun. It finally made sense why Gaia and I couldn't sense this place. It was a complete fake everything from the sun to the grassy meadow, this was the land was literally make believe. It seems it was always sunny. What wasn't the least bit fake was what caught my attention next before Razeel and I were the countless children. We could hear the cries of children and when we looked out at the field again we saw hundreds if not thousands of children from all over the world. Walking, sitting, crying, and crawling along the grassy meadow. I did notice that there were no teenagers, in fact no child seemed older then 9 years of age by my count.

I didn't need my enhanced eyesight to see the look of terror and confusion on many of those children's faces. As we walked through the meadow this place was the most peaceful looking Hell I have ever seen.

"My God! Guardian, how many are you counting?" Razeel asked in disbelief as she looked at one child after another.

"There thousands of children here," I growled

"Why do I get the sickening feeling that these children did not all come from Philadelphia," Razeel half guessed but knew the truth as she surveyed the fake landscape.

"They aren't. I have been rescuing children from their corrupt environment from all over the world," We heard from above us looking up a hill there was our fairytale made into flesh.

"These are my children now and I am not giving them up," We turned to see the Pie Piper standing with his hands behind his back on a hilltop "And you meddlers are not going to take them from me," he demanded.

Looking out at the children "They don't look very happy about their rescue in fact most of those kids are downright terrified," I remarked

"Separation is hard but in time they will all love staying here," The Pie Piper regarded his flock of children,

"And how do you intend to feed them all or get them new clothes?" I inquired

Nodding in agreement as Razeel looked around the phony field "What do you do with your children when they grow up?" Razeel asked

"They are cared for their belly are always full and they have no wants here," Pie Piper answered

"When they age they are sent back to the real world ready to face it properly," The Pie Piper assured

I didn't believe a word of this but instead I went along with it.

"And here I thought you were just a child tale," I shook my head

In a satisfactory smirk the Jester cackled "So you know who I am,"

"Every child on this planet has heard about you, I can remember being told of your tale about how you came to rid a town of rats and how the king wouldn't pay you for your deeds so you played your flute an whisked the town's children away," I regaled I could see a smirk form on the madman's face.

"In fact for centuries the tale of a man who came to rid a small village in medieval Germany of rats he was double crossed an in turn took the villages children today many of us called him the Pie Piper," I answered

"Yes I have read those fairy tale good likeness but what they don't say is why I took those children," Pie Piper smirked

Razeel wasn't going to interrupt. The Guardian got more out of this madman then even the Council could. The cold sensation running down her spin was trying to picture what happened to those children the Pie Piper kidnapped all those centuries ago. Still when she had an opening Razeel asked, "Which is?"

"To those villagers children were the rats, they were pest and vermin, no different then the rodents that fairy tale claimed I was there help with," the Piper stated

"I came to help educate those children those snobby townspeople had no time for, so I decided that for their safety I would save them from that soulless existence," the Piper pronounced

"The world those children will grow up in is filled with prejudice and persuasion they are filled with bullies and unrealistic rules," The Pie Piper remarked waving his hand to encompass the fake meadow "Here these children are allowed to be children,"

"This is your answer to that by bringing them to this fake and empty world?" I waved my hand to encompass the meadow

"This is the real world," the Pie Piper was insulted

"Wrong this world is hollow, it is a fake and this will leave these kids empty," I shook my head, It all made sense why my powers were affected by this place it was

"The problem with Neverland is these kids will never live up to their potential, everyone of them has a purpose and role they must play," I stated

"And just who decided that?" The Pie Piper demanded

"They do, before you are the future doctors and teachers, They are future cooks and construction workers, future policemen and firemen. They are the promise of hope that the world will be a better place," I countered the Piper's mad ambition with wisdom.

"These are ones who will cure the diseases, they will work to heal our environment," I stated

"By leaving them here they will never know how special they are," Razeel also stated

Our words were lost on this loon as he crowed, "I will tell them how special they are everyday,"

"Oh really, a singer by the name of Whitney Houston once sang that children are our future it is through them the promise of a better world possible," I said "And she is very right before you is the next generation and they all have a purpose they must fulfill," I stated

"That is nonsense, the world has seen to it that these children would be beaten down at every step of the way," The Piper sneered

"No she didn't," I said

"What?" the Piper gasped

"The Earth did not create at these children to suffer, unfortunately life is hard and even the young in the wild must face dangerous predators, but the Earth created them and us because we are her made in to flesh as she tries to figure herself out," I stated

"It doesn't matter meddler I am not returning these kids I will protect them from harm," The Pie Piper pulled out a gun and started firing. Razeel and I dodged the bullets taking my combadge off my wrist and giving it to Razeel "Razeel get these kids out of here,"

Looking down at my combadge in disbelief, "You expect me to get thousands of children to safety?" Razeel gasped

"If I fight this loony it gives the Watcher's time to break his spell and that gives you time to rescue these kids trust me," I was very determined to complete this mission

"I will buy you all time," I told her

"But your powers?" Razeel pointed out

"They are weak but more than sufficient to deal with this lunatic besides I still have my fighting skills, they are more than enough to deal with this madman," I said as I pulled out my Fighting Pike, "It is time the fake guardian dealt with the real guardian," I charged "When you get out use my combadge to contact BEATTI we are going to need a little help,"

I ran off to do battle with a man who only days ago belonged in Fairy Tales.

Looking around at the daunting task "He is not whistling dixie," Razeel sighed as she knelt down to the closest child a little girl looked up at her "I want my mommy," the little darling cried

"I would like nothing more than to return you to your mommy, little one. We are here to do just that darling, come on everyone we are leaving this place," Razeel picked the girl up and all of the kids began to follow her.

"Okay clown let's dance," I said as charged Bozo,

"You think this is a game that is a laugh," the Piper maliciously smiled

"The only thing here that is worth laughing at is your hideous outfit," I bluntly stated

"You can't out fight me," the Piper sneered as he produced a metal pole himself and soon the meadow was filled with the sounds of our fight.

While I kept the Piper busy Razeel led the children out, once beyond the barrier she using the combadge Guardian gave her Razeel called out to BEATTI "We need some help there are too many," Razeel said to the Guardian's computer

"Do not fear Razeel help, the Phantom of the Opera already anticipated this," BEATTI announced

Phantom and Blaylock along with Chief Rodgers and hundreds of police were already coming on to the dock. The stunned expression on their faces was short lived; they began gathering up the children, as more exited the barrier Phantom began directing the kids to the waiting police who were screaming into their radios for more aid.

"Where's Guardian?" Phantom demanded as he picked a child up and handed her to the nearest police officer.

"He is keeping the Piper busy while we get these kids to safety," Razeel answered as she went back to getting more kids

Blaylock supplied, "the Watcher's Council is working to counter the spell this madman is using. They have already removed the protection runes,"

Razeel looked back and there was now a clearly visible barrier between Philadelphia and the Pie Piper's fake world.

"Guardian power's were affected by that rift he is battling the Piper on his own," Razeel reported

Phantom gave a wicked smiled, "Believe me Razeel that will be more than enough,"

Razeel nodded then went back to the fake world and more children began emerging from the rift.

Turning to the Police force, "Chief we will get the kids, but we are going to need away to transport them," Phantom stated

"I am calling for more support. Do we know how many children we are talking about here?" Chief Rodgers asked The police were corralling the children in safe locations on the dock while they awaited for transportation to arrive.

When Razeel came out with even more kids "There are thousands, Chief and half of these kids aren't from Philadelphia,"

Blaylock was on his phone talking to the Watcher's Council keeping them apprised of the situation.

"That is just dandy who knew all this started with a drunk taking a swing at Mr. Matthews," Chief Rodgers growled as he pulled out his radio requesting more aid.

In the distant lights and sirens filled the night as more rescue crews came racing to the pier. They began to gather up more kids keeping them safe.

When the first vans pulled up, the police officers began to load the children into them. Some of them were trying to comfort the frightened children.

Razeel handed a little boy to Blaylock who in turn gave the child to a waiting police officer.

Phantom decided to join Razeel as they went back into the barrier to get more children.

Meanwhile in England at the Watcher's Council castle a man came running down to Travers "Sir we are doing it our magicians have weakened the barrier,"

"What about the runes?" Joyce asked

The Watcher responded "Oh they took care of that already the barrier was a whole different thing that was the whole problem, there was the runes and there was the barrier,"

Joyce was shocked, "That is why Guardian could feel the barrier but couldn't see it,"

"Even if he could see it he wouldn't have been able to enter it," the Watcher confirmed

Travers listened to the reports but didn't interfere; this needed to be passed along.

"Good I have gotten reports that Guardian has engaged the Pie Piper while Razeel the Phantom of the Opera are getting those children to safety, and from what Blaylock reports the wacko has thousands of children from all over the world trapped inside the Pie Piper's world of make believe," Travers stated in his typical stern demeanor

"They are going to need all the help they can get, we have to bring down that barrier," Travers responded

"They are working on it Travers they say it is a very complex spell at this moment all they are doing is weakening it," the watcher reported

"Why are we even helping that jerk?" a Watcher asked Travers

"We all know about the Legend of the Pie Piper and the trouble he caused the last time, thanks to the Guardian we are compromising his operation and saving lives," Joyce stepped up

"And if we can stop him permanently I am willing to help out as best as we can," Travers remarked

The Piper and I fought for a good while he was sweating and I wasn't. His moves were very lousy while I countered move for move with calm patient defenses. "Who are you to interfere in my affairs," he sneered. His attacks were horrible as if he never had to fight in his life. But then he surrounds himself with ogres who did all the fighting for him.

I expertly blocked and dodged his swings. I really wasn't even fighting him. The whole point was for me to be the Pie Piper's sole target, blinding him from all that transpired around him from Razeel saving as many children as she could. To whatever aid the Watcher's Council needed to break this spell and bring Never Never Land back to reality.

"I am ye old Guardian it is in thy job description," I smirked in a very bad old English dialect as I brought my Pike around to block the Piper's clumsy attacks.

I could feel the barrier weakening which was enough for Gaia to get through to me,"Mike you must close that portal permanently," She spoke to me by telepathy

"How Gaia?" I asked back.

"I couldn't see through his barrier before thanks to the Watcher's who have weaken it enough for me see it through your eyes, there is a keystone I can sense its energy through you, the Pie Piper is using that links this world to ours and you must remove it," Gaia answered

"Do you know what it looks like?" I asked

"That I can not say," Gaia admitted

As I thought about it I had an idea what it was, however I couldn't act as Razeel needed to save those children.

"I think I know what it is Gaia but there are still a lot of kids here Razeel needs all the time she can get to rescue them," I telepathically told the Spirit of the Earth.

"You do what you have to, the Power is Yours," Gaia let me get back to the matter at hand.

I took a moment to further engage the Pie Piper in conversation, "So how are you able to keep this place connected?" I asked the Piper

"Do you really expect me to answer that?" the Piper sneered

"Oh come now you have been doing this for centuries right how is it you are even able to be here now," I remarked

"Time works differently here once I close it off to your realm for every minute that passes here a day pass in your realm," the Piper answered

Razeel continued to lead the children to safety; While the Phantom stood at the entrance to the barrier as he ushered the kids through "Come on kiddies this way," Phantom urged as he ushered the kids to move his way, and out the barrier. Their task was daunting; there were still hundreds of children and most of the kids were only toddlers who couldn't be expected to understand what was happening. It was up to two humans to get them to safety. The older children were at least aware they were in danger and were running. Razeel grabbed hold of as many of those younger kids as she could, taking them to the barrier.

Razeel ran out of the barrier to awaiting police officers. The dock at this point had even more vans and even a few buses awaiting the children, "Here are some more," Razeel huffed as she gave the two children to an officer "How many more are there?" The Officer demanded

"Hundreds," Razeel answered as more kids came out of the barrier

"This is a horrible situation," The Officer was ready to cry as he ushered children to safety

"This way children, Officer Friendly is here to help," The Officer pleaded as the more kids poured out of the barrier. Razeel didn't have time to wait; she ran back in. She didn't see all of the police dogs leave their handlers and darted for the barrier Gaia had spoken to those dogs on the problem.

Razeel was busy scooping up children and Dave couldn't leave his spot as he directed those kids out of the barrier. When the barrier was suddenly breached by hundreds of German Shepherds came charging in. They began to scoop up the infants and other children who were too little to walk. "Mike you said Nature wouldn't let us down and here she is lending a much needed hand," Phantom awed. The K-9 units were faster than either humans and were darting in and out of the barrier carefully grabbing small children and taking them back to the real world. Between the dogs, Dave, and Razeel got nearly half of the children to safety when the meadow began to charge.

While the Piper and I fought I could feel a change in the environment. It seems even the Piper was aware as he stopped his attacks "What is going on!" As he looked around to see his world falling apart.

I looked around as the scent of the Delaware River began to fill the air of this fake world. The globe on my chest was reenergizing.

"This is called, `the old pull the rug out from under you maneuver' the forces of good works as a team," I snickered. I could feel my powers gaining strength as I felt my connection to the Earth getting stronger.

Looking around I saw the lights from Philadelphia's skyline twinkle in like stars cutting through at dusk. This fake meadow's sun filled sky was now fighting for supremacy.

The Pie Piper's stupefied expression only made me laugh as he didn't seem able to come to grips with reality. "This isn't possible no one can penetrate my world

"This in't the work of one person, this is a multi front assault," I countered

"If I have to guess my allies in the Watcher's Council," I said as I felt my powers beginning to return the Earth was now breaching the rift through me, she was correcting this imbalance, "Are working the spell that removes your runes," I stated

"The Watcher's Council you are working for them?" The Piper growled

"I work with them is more appropriate," I corrected

"Those windbags could never catch me," The Piper sneered

"But the Guardian did," I smirked

"Guardian fah that is a joke," the Piper growled

"Judging by the smell of things the only one who is going to end up crying is the court jester," I sarcastically remarked as we went back to fighting.

The wind was now picking up and the smell of water from the Delaware River was winning the battle over the smells of this fake meadow. Neverland was losing its integrity. I could feel the Earth's presence continuing to gain strength in my mind and my powers were getting stronger.

"Guardian we are just about done here," I heard in my ear

It took the Pie Piper a second then saw the field being overrun with dogs as they helped rescue the childrens "My children you've kidnapped them!" He wailed

The globe on my chest was glowing brighter with every passing moment.

I saw the Piper staring at my chest, with great satisfaction I smirked, "I told you I wasn't a mutant this is one force you could never beat," then my tone harden "No the children belong to the Earth, and she wants her children back Pie Piper and she will take them back,"

"You are welcome to stay here in Never Never Land for all I care," I stated

"They are mine. I would have loved them better then their own family," The Piper cried as he charged me. This fight was over as I held up my hand. The feeling of relief came when a gust of wind shot out of my hand and forced the Pie Piper back. It also propelled me backwards to the only spot that the Keystone would be."Wrong, these children are going home," I countered as I landed the lowly tree on the hill. I placed my hand on it and felt its energy confirming my suspicions. Sitting under the tree was a little girl. When I got a good look at her I recognized her, "Sarah?" I asked

Her bright blue eyes looked up at me "Where is my brother Jared?" she cried

I scooped her up and said "He is waiting for you little one," repositioning Sarah to hold her in one arm "How about we blow this popsicle stand and get you home,"

"There are no popsicles here," Sarah giggled

"Is that so, then what I am about to do is a very justifiable cause, no child should ever be denied a popsicle," I stated as I wound up my fist and struck the tree. It exploded into rocky chunks with the keystone broken. Neverland lost its connection to the Earth and as the barrier broke down I could now feel the Earth fully and now could use my full yet still developing powers.

The Pie Piper wailed as his fake tree exploded "No this is not possible," grabbing a metal object out of his pocket and said "I was planning to us this in two days but I will not let you steal anymore of my children,"

Without even acknowledging the loon's rambling I looked down at Sarah and smiled,

"Hang on Sarah we are about to go for a spin," I said as all around me wind encircled Sarah and I as the tornado formed it picked us up with Sarah and I at the center of this storm we moved to gather up all of the remaining children. And even getting the dogs to safety.

The phony world was falling apart, Phantom and Razeel were desperately ushering more children out of the barrier before it collapsed. When the winds really began to pick up Phantom had in his arms, the little boy and Razeel a little girl. They saw the tornado coming their way.

"We are out of here," Guardian's voice echoed over the phony landscape.

"Guardian you know how to make an exit," Phantom smirked as he and Razeel were engulfed by the twister and were picked up along the remaining children.

"GavRock!" We heard and suddenly the whole meadow began to shake and the sky began to change colors.

"You will all be trapped here with me and I will make you all very sorry you messed with the Pie Piper!" We heard from behind us.

With everyone in my twister "You are more than welcome to stay here Piper, but we are blowing out of this place," my voice filled the meadow. "And I will take that," I said as his little charm flew out of his hand and came to me.

"No!" was the last thing I heard as we all left Never, Never Land.

Once back in the real world I shouted "Look alive!" to the rescue personnel, as I dissolved my tornado Phantom, Razeel, hundreds of police dogs and the missing children were all on the ground. Several infants landed in the arms of police and other rescuers. I heard cheers ring out as the barrier winked out of sight. Sarah and I were still in the air. "That was fun," I said to my little passenger as we landed down on the pier. Hundreds of police and medical personnel greeted us as the children were examined and loaded into ambulances, police vans and police buses. SEPTA even brought several of their buses to the dock and kids were being loaded into them. I gave Sarah over to Dave and then turned my attention back to the former site of the barrier. I could feel it was gone. While I don't know if this is permanent I wanted to make sure that it couldn't return to this spot. Phantom gave Sarah over to the medics and made his way over to me asking "What are you going to do?"

"Me, nothing, but nature, is about to reclaim this spot," I said as the whole dock, buildings and all, shook and then slid into the Delaware River. As the pier was swept down river I turned and Police Chief Rodgers grumbled, "There goes any chance of collecting any kind of evidence,"

"Erosion has a way of changing the landscape Chief and in this case," I shrugged my shoulders.

In an understanding Phantom picked up, "I think it is best this place went down river Chief, I for one am glad the Pie Piper has returned to being a myth," Phantom responded

Looking over unobstructed view of the Delaware River he seem to think about it, "I wish I could have arrested the freak at least," Chief Rodgers huffed

"Don't worry Chief that wack job is in a prison of his own making," I explained

"Justice is still done," Phantom vowed

I looked and saw that nearly all of the Pie Piper's goon squad was in handcuffs.

"Those guys are a swell consolation prize," I indicated the boobs being loaded into the police cars

Chief Rodgers shook his head in agreement, "I will see to it they are all brought to justice,"

Then after a moment of silence Chief Rodgers shoulders slumped and he sighed, "I am glad it is over,"

Turning our backs on the sunken pier the three of us saw the scene before us children of all races were being properly cared for and were soon to be hopefully returned to their families. Phantom smiled "This was the outcome we all wanted,"

Blaylock came by our side "You destroyed this one but what is to prevent the Pie Piper from coming back?"

"You mean this little trinket?" I held up the metal charm "He wants to stay in Never, Never Land he can,"

"Without this little charm I don't think he will becoming back," I answered

Blaylock then asked, "And what is to keep that from falling into the wrong hands?"

I didn't answer instead I brought my hands together and when they parted fine metal particles fell to the ground "Oops, I thought that was a mosquito," I smirked

Blaylock simply looked at the metallic dust and said "Yes, that would indeed keep it out of the wrong hands,"

Looking back at the empty spot where the pier used to be and now just an unobstructed view of the Delaware River. In an sigh of self disgust "I just wish I figured out the Pie Piper connection sooner, Gaia told me that there was something about our Fairy Tales, that I needed to look at and it took my shipmate six seconds to come up with the connection," I growled at myself

"Guardian don't dwell on what you couldn't see at the time, Razeel, Blaylock and I didn't even think about the Pie Piper not even close," Phantom reminded me

Before we could say anything someone screamed out, "Sarah!" I turned to see a car coming around the corner. Before the car could even come to a stop. The door flew opened Jared came running through the crowd, the police moved to intercept I quickly said "Let him through,"

The police backed away as Jared ran to his sister and scooped her up "Jared!" she cried

"It doesn't matter what you couldn't do," Phantom said pointing to the incredible family reunion "Because of you and Razeel and Jake," Phantom somberly stated "Jared got his little sister back and that alone is wonderful," We watched as Jared and his parents came together and hugged Sarah

"Guardian because of you a family was reunited," Phantom reminded me.

I nodded in agreement "Yes, that does, make this all worth it, even my guilt,"

"You are not guilty, Guardian, this was going on for months and no one picked up on it, all it took for it all to fall apart was Jared attacking me and you figuring out the cause," Phantom stated

I watched as Jared tossed his sister in the air hugging her and all the stuff a loving brother did when he found his missing sister. He walked over to us tears were running down his eyes "Thank you Guardian thank you for finding my sister,"

"It was my pleasure and it was because of you we save thousands of children from a lifeless existence," I told Jared

He shook his head "I had no idea that so many children were abducted and I really want to know why,"

Looking at the spot where the barrier between our world and another "Some think they know better then everyone what is best for children," I answered

"And that crazy jester thought it was better for children to live in Neverland where they would never grow up would fix all of that," I sighed

Phantom stepped up "Go home sir take your sister home and get some much needed rest this nightmare is finally over,"

"Don't forget to give her a popsicle that place didn't have any," I smiled warmly

"Sarah will get a popsicle," Jared smiled as he walked off the whole dock area and was soon swarmed with family from all over.

Blaylock said "I do believe we can leave the rest of this frightful mess to the authorities," I nodded again as the Sea Dragon came down and we all boarded. As I took the controls and we gained altitude Blaylock finally said, "You did a good job Guardian,"

"Thanks Blaylock let's go home," I said as I flew us home.

Locked inside his own prison, Pie Piper looked at the remains of his keystone and he sobbed, "That bastard kidnapped my children," his crying never came to an end.
