To those who've been reading Tales of Sol. I want you to know that while there is sex in this story. That is not is sole purpose and yes I don't home the sex sense makes you all hard and gets you off.

Sol is an adaption from my childhood favorite show Captain Planet and the Planeteers, The cartoon showed us that the world can be a better place if we took a few moments to care for it.

Tales of Sol is meant to express hope.

It is also shows how music can have an impact in our lives. While I don't know if my favorite bands 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys or Nsync have ever read this. They saw me through some of the hardest moments of my life and offered in their own way hope. To them I say thank you.

I dedicate the Tales of Sol to all of my brothers and sisters of the US armed service past, present, and future.

I like to thank my friends who I had the privilege showing these chapters with. They helped with editing and inspiration, John Rivera, Albert-Russ Alan Rivera-Odum, Derbe.D. Hunte Yvette Ortiz Samuel Diaz Jr for all their help in Making The Tales of Sol an enjoyable story to write.

And I have a few other names starting with the beginner of this universe James the author of Tales of a Real Dark Knight. I still hope to reconnect with you dear friend.

The Tales of Sol 22 For here or to Go

It was very late by the time we got to their hotel, Jeff had asked if I would stay the night and I agreed but before I could enter.

Drew pulled me aside while everyone else entered. I could feel the desperation radiating off of him. Drew was desperately clinging to hope

"Mike, you gotta help I don't know what to do," Drew was close to crying

"If we knew where this was coming from we could do something," I told Drew

"What happened? Why is my brother flying off the handle? He doesn't drink like this?" Drew was losing control of his feelings

"I tried to open my senses to him, Drew but the alcohol level in his blood it is blocking my attempts," I responded

"You don't to have special gifts to see that he is drinking heavily, and I have no doubt that it is drowning everything out but he is my brother I want to help him," Drew was now in tears

I just pulled Drew into a hug and said "Don't lose hope Drew, there is a solution to this and we will find it,"

"Come on let's get back inside. Maybe we can talk to Jeff and Justin and maybe set up some kind of intervention," I encouraged him back to the hotel. Drew and I almost made it to the door when we heard voices behind us, "Look its one of those fag boy band guys, and his date,"

I turned around to see a man with dirty blond hair, and dark brown eyes jeering at us. The jock wore a blue turtleneck, and baggy pants. He and his friends ignored me and moved towards Drew. I could see the fear in his eyes. But Drew wasn't alone out here. I could handle these guys without even breaking a sweat. Intercepting them, I put myself between Drew and them.

"Why don't you boys just run home?" When they proceeded towards Drew I made sure to keep myself between him and the jocks. I held out my hand in a universal position for stop and in a much harsher and demanding tone.

"You will walk away now," I ordered, The bozos were finally acknowledging my presence but not in a good way,

"Ooh look Karol, the fag's boyfriend has a fresh mouth," The Jock sneered I turned my attention to Karol and he had jet black hair, gray eyes and a sad excuse for a goatee, Wearing a similar blue turtleneck and grey baggy pants that screamed bad taste. Karol advanced one me

"Maybe I better wipe it off of him," Karol snorted

Putting my arms by my side as I moved back as to these lumbering buffoons, as advanced on us. I made sure to keep myself between Drew and these creeps. The whole time I made sure I was their target and not Drew.

"I will give you two seconds to leave or you will regret it," I said I didn't fear them or what they might do which only seem to enrage them further

Karol threw his fist at me. I ducked it and countered with an uppercut to the jock's chin sending him sailing into a garbage can. His comrade took his turn and threw his fist at me. This time I caught in my fist, the shocked look on his face told me that no one had done this to him before. Shock was replaced with pain as I began to squeeze the jock's fist making the bully cry in pain.

"Hey man let go of me!" The coward wailed. He tried to free his hand from mine but I held on with the firm strength of steel and as I squeezed a little harder this made him drop to his knees. All the while his friends looked on as they helped Karol back up. Their yellow backs were now showing through as they just stood there.

While I held their bigoted friend "Not so tough now are you?" I smirked as I tightened my grip. The bozo had tears in his eyes and I could even smell urine as he wet himself.

"I am trained in hand to hand combat," I said as I continued to squeeze his fist.

"I am sorry man! Just let me go!" The Jock cried

"If I hear you guys bad mouthing homosexuals again I will find you." I threatened

"I am so, so, sorry I will never bother you again!" The Jock squealed

"I do believe you owe Mr. Lachey an apology," I said pointing to Drew.

"I, I, I didn't say anything." He wailed

I squeezed harder blood could be seen coming from his hand as his nail dug into his skin.

Putting his hand on my wrist, I turned to see plea for mercy in Drew's eyes "Mike please there is no need for this," Drew pleaded

I loosened my grip but not by much "As soon as you get an apology I will let him go no one threatens my friends nor do they get treated with dishonor," I snarled

"I am sorry Mr. Lachey, we will never bother you again!" The Jock cried.

I let go of his fist much to the Jock's relief but that relief was short-lived when I grabbed hold of his collar bringing him close so he could look into my cold venomous eyes. I saw the fear in his dark green eyes when I spoke in a very deep and ice cold voice,

"That is better next time remember your manners," I lifted him off his feet and shoved him back into his friends. When his friend caught him they all looked discouraged and when they looked at me. I could see the fear in their eyes and very slowly as if they were afraid I might attack them again they moved off.

"Mike that was uncalled for," Drew yelled

It wasn't until they were gone and Drew had said something. I realized that adrenaline was coursing through my veins and my face felt hot. I looked down at what I had done. There was blood on my hand and my temper was through the roof. Drew was right. I went too far.

"Dammit!" I growled at myself and my blocks had begun breaking down again.

"I am sorry Drew I don't know what came over me," I said as tears started to roll down my cheek.

"Mike, are you okay?" Drew asked

"Dammit I really hate it when I get angry," I growled

Drew looked back towards the now retreating bullies and they kept looking back at us as they moved away. With a slight smirk Drew regarded me, "I don't blame you, remind me never to get on your bad side,"

"Trust me Drew I have better control then that," I tried to reassure

"Mike don't take this the wrong way, but I think you control your feeling too well," Drew said

"What do you mean?" I asked

"I've watch you, as I have watched Nick, and you two are so alike, it is freaky," Drew pointed out

"The difference is where Nick is running to the bottle for comfort, you seem to have your own method of hiding what it is you are really feeling," Drew finished

I didn't know I was that easy to read then I said, "I can't lie to you Drew when I am feeling out of control emotionally I do what I call mind-focusing exercises,"

"Like what?" Drew asked

"I will picture in my mind a brick wall for example but in my mind I have to build it brick by brick," I tried my best to explain it

"Why?" Drew asked

"It started with some trauma I had endure but ever since getting these powers it has transformed to away to keep me from losing control," I answered

"I don't understand," Drew said

"Let me ask you something: how little power do you think someone needs to abuse it?" I asked

Drew got a far away look and I could see him thinking about their last tour manager "It doesn't take much really,"

"Drew I am only now learning what my powers can do, and even a fraction of what I can do would reduce Philadelphia to rubble," I stated

Drew whistled "I didn't know you had that much power,"

"Drew, I don't even have access to everything, and after that there really no limit to what I could do, can you image what it could be like if I even let go," I tried to explain

"No Mike I don't even want to think about, what it is you might be able to do," Drew shuddered

"Neither do I and I have to keep my guard up constantly," I shuddered myself.

We entered the hotel and made our way to their floor "Mike I will say this you can still trust us,"

I just smiled but underneath I could still feel the dread of what could happen if Jeff, Nick and Justin ever found out about my growing abilities.

When I got to Jeff's room my love was completely worn out from practice Jeff was sleeping peacefully I whispered into his ear "I love you,"

I saw a smile form on his face as I crawled into bed Jeff wrapped his warm arms around me "I love you too,"

In the lonely hours of the midnight the fog hid the illicit activities on the Hudson River. Three barges filled with industrial wastes made their way down river. On barge number three a brawny man in a black tank top and filthy brown cargo pants guided the barges to their final destination in Hudson Bay. His radio squawked "Tank here?"

"Where is the ooze?" Tank heard over the radio

"Don't worry boss we are making excellent time down this river even with all this fog," Tank reassured

"Idiot you were supposed to be here three hours ago we need this fog to hide this transfer from the Coast Guard," the man growled

"We will be there in time boss," Tank tried to calm his boss's bellowing.

As the barges continued their voyage the sky opened up and it began raining. The winds began to churn the water making the river extremely choppy.

Barge number 1 began having trouble navigating the angry Hudson River with the currents getting stronger.

"Woo hoo boys we are going to really earn our pay if we can get this junk down in this storm," Tank cheered as he watched the barges heaving side to side.

Several barrels of toxic goo fell overboard and into the Hudson River. As the rain poured down the Hudson got deeper and choppier.

Gripping the barge's wheel, Tank hollered in delight as several more barrels of industrial waste went flying into the river.

"Woo this is a blast Mr. Sludge is going to be so proud of me, we are still on schedule to drop this junk off," Tank cheered

High tide had hit the Hudson River and with the flooding the water was even higher barge number 1 captain was losing control of his vessel. The rough waters of the Hudson River sent even more toxic goo into the river. One barrel managed to strike the barge's propeller sending the barge careening into the George Washington Bridge nicking the stone foundation of its support struts, more toxic goo slipped out and landed on the stonework and metal beams of the suspension tower.

Tank watched at one of his barges was in distressed he quickly pulled out his radio "Hey Mr. Sludge one the barges is out of control,"

"Who cares get that stuff down here we are being paid to properly disposal of the stuff and we only get paid when it gets here," Sludge sneered

"Yes sir Mr Sludge," Tank signed off as the barges cleared the George Washington Bridge they left behind a trail of poison fish and other animals began floating to the top of the murky Hudson River which was still overflowing from the thunderstorm.

The next morning I awoke and tried to untangle myself from Jeff's vise-grip like hold on me. As I tried to get out of bed Jeff snorted and whispered "You are not getting out of bed,"

"Love, you remember that you have to leave for New York City this morning?" I turned to kiss Jeff on the cheek

"Damn I rather stay just like this," Jeff grumbled

Our room phone began ringing Jeff comically huffed as he tried to reach for the offensive devise and grumbled into it, "Yes,"

"Mike just reminded me can't I just stay here," Jeff whined I could here Nick snicker

I in turn gave Jeff butt a playful smack "Ow!" Jeff screamed into the phone

"What happened Jeff?" I heard Nick asked

"My boyfriend just smacked my ass," Jeff complained

I heard laughter "No he is not being kinky," Jeff said as he began to blush

"It is time to get your rear into gear love," I snickered

"But Mike I want to stay with you," Jeff gave me a pouting expression

"You have to bring joy to millions of fans and I have work of my own to do today," I reminded him as I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. To grab a shower "Dammit Nick now my boyfriend is getting a shower without me," I heard Jeff grumbled.

Just as I got under the rejuvenating warm water Jeff pushed me out of it as he climbed in behind

"Nick urged me to join you," Jeff whispered into my ear as he pulled me back under the cascading water. With no time to play we just washed each other Jeff tried playing a few times I had to stop him. "I will make it up to you love, nevertheless you are needed in New York and Luc would bust my butt if I made you late," I told him

"Never I won't let anyone near that butt of yours," Jeff smirked as he grabbed my butt cheeks.

I just smiled as I reached behind him and shut off the hot water just as I got out of the shower "Yikes!" I heard Jeff scream as he jumped out of the shower "That was so low," Jeff glared at me

"Yes but seeing you jump out of there dripping wet more then makes up for it," I snickered as I grabbed a towel,

I smiled warmly and began to towel him off "I wouldn't be much of a boyfriend if I didn't push you to do what you love,"

That got Jeff thinking "No you wouldn't and that is why I love you,"

As I helped dry Jeff off he continued, "You could have let me have fun in there but you were right I have a responsibility and you are making sure I stick to it,"

"I love you Jeff Timmons," I said as I got back up and kissed him

"I love you Mike Pennock," Jeff returned as he began to dry me off.

I got Jeff there in time as 98 Degrees was boarding their tour bus bound for New York. As I watched from the curb I saw Jeff's bus recede into the distance. I found myself sighing it was the right thing to do but that didn't mean I had to like it. Jeff and the rest of 98 Degrees had to leave for New York after they accepted to perform at the Mutant Awareness Charity Luc had booked for a small performance at Time Square.

I reluctantly turned and headed for the subway so I could get to the Lair.

Dave and I were busy at the Geothermal Plant going over various reports from shipping invoices, to maintenance requests. It would have gone faster but Dave's secretary was giving me a hard time. It took Dave to step in afterwards she was semi cooperative.

I was going over the reports from our janitors there were some complaints about not enough supplies and I found that the warehouse has been skimping on our janitors. On top of that they were not getting the proper gear to protect them from the very cleaning supplies they were using.

A few choice words from me followed by a few choice words from Dave got everything squared away with a stern warning to the warehouse I would be monitoring their activities.

Finally Dave had to put a stop when he saw the time, "Mike we need to head down to the police station," Dave informed me

I looked at him for a moment I was so focused on my work then it came back to me "Jared,"

"Chief Rodgers said he is awake with a bit of a hangover," Dave informed

I nodded as Dave and I placed all my paperwork aside once I was sure I cleaned everything up I followed Dave and we left for the Philadelphia Police Station.

Jeff bounced off the stage as their brief concert came to an end 98 Degrees was leaving New York and heading back to Philadelphia their management Luc Stephens greeted them as they hopped back on to their tour bus and were soon on the road Jeff couldn't wait to return to Mike Pennock the guy was incredible and Jeff looked forward to seeing where their relationship could go.

Nick was in the back of the bus on the phone with Jennifer who had to fly back to Missouri last night and Justin was reading the newspaper. Jeff just looked out the window where he saw the bustling city.

On the George Washington Bridge hundreds of cars, buses and trucks of all sizes drove over the bridge no one new at that just below them one of the support towers was straining thanks to the damage it took from Sludge's barge the industrial waste was still eating away at the metal frame and the stone foundation was slowly crumbling away as each vehicle pushed down on the support tower.

I was with Dave as we entered the police station we were met by Chief Rodgers "We have your ex employee in a drunk tank,"

"When can we talk to him?" Dave asked

"One of my officers will bring him to interrogation and you can watch as we talk to him," Chief Rodgers informed

"I need to be there," I said

"Mr. Pennock do I need to remind you that you defended your boss against this guy's rampage," Chief Rodgers stated

"Yes and you will get more from honey then you will get from vinegar," I said

"You want to cuddle that man?" Chief Rodgers growled

"There is more going on here Chief you of all people should know all the possible reasons someone might start drinking," I returned

"Dave said something about a missing child but when we talked to the perp said he knew nothing about any missing child," Chief Rodgers replied

"Chief, I trust Mike, if he says there is more going on then, we owe it to Jared to give him some benefit of doubt," Dave spoke up

Chief Rodgers just turned to me trying to bore into me with his glaring eyes, I returned the gaze with one that was more gentle but equally determined

Chief Rodgers and Dave went through one door and I met an officer at another. We entered the typical briefing room with the one way mirror on one side and the simple metal table and metal chair. The room was utilitarian in nature as most of these rooms usually are.

Not long after the officer and I sat down the door to the interrogation room opened and in came Jared his shackles clicked as he sat down and he was soon chained to the floor,

"Mr. Evens, I am Officer Howder, I believe you already know Mr. Pennock," the officer introduced

"I know who he is and I am going to sue him for assault," Jared sneered

"That would not be wise," I simply said

"Right, now I am the only one who is investing to save you," I responded

"Help me? You attacked me!" Jared growled

"Mr. Evens we have already have confirmed statements made by your former coworkers and we have seen the video you attempted to attack your employer," Officer Howder counter argued

"Mr. Pennock in his duty's stepped in and stopped you," Officer Howder said as he went over the report he had in his hands

"Mr. Matthews trusts my instincts Jared but he is still within his legal rights to have you locked up for assault, I am the only one standing in the way of that outcome," I said trying to sound harsh. But Jared needed to understand the nature of his situation.

Jared didn't respond to my statement instead he sneered "What are you going to kiss me?"

Ignoring the attempt at intimidation, and disregarding the anger in Jared's voice I heard instead the anguish and self loathing in the man's temper. And then there it was something burrowed deep a longing that seemed to have lost all hope, In a very soft and compassionate voice I gently spoke, "I came here Jared because I believe we can help you,"

"How can you help me?" Jared sneered

"There are thousands upon thousands of reasons to drink excessively. From loneliness to despair the list is endless. As I sit here looking at you, hearing your alcohol induced rage," I began to answer.

As I talked Jared took several dry gulps.

Turning to Howder "Can we get some water?" I requested

Howder acknowledged, "Absolutely," Howder briefly got up and made a request. A short time later a plastic cup filled with water arrived. I got up and accepted the drink and personally gave it to Jared, He quickly gulped most of it down.

Waiting until Jared put his cup down I continued, "I believe in your case it is because you are trapped in a situation where you feel there is no way out," I softly said

Now practically shaking in his chair Jared quivered "I have no idea what you are talking about,"

Jared's fears were cutting through the alcohol and what came through was the answer to his plight. An image in his mind jumped out there was no mistaking it. A little girl with long blond hair and brown eyes came to me. "Who is she?" I asked

This brought Jared up short "What is the point of this?" turning to Officer Howder "Take me back to my cell,"

From the observation room Chief Rodgers and Dave watched "I'll be damned your assistant just hit on something,"

"I told you old friend my protege is not to be dismissed so quickly," Dave countered

"I was paying so close to Mr. Evens drunk state I missed the pain he was in," Rodgers growled

Sitting across from Jared I said, "She is a little girl around six maybe seven blond hair, brown eyes and adorable smile,"

I could see tears forming around Jared's eyes "Mike what are you doing," I heard the plea in Jared's cry. I could see Jared and the little girl, "I see you embracing her in a brother's love and a brother's pride," I calmly stated the shocked look on both Jared's and Officer Howder's face was inescapable

Howder turned to me, "How do you know all of this?"

"All things are possible in Earth and Heaven," I said as I simply looked at Jared,

The walls came down and the tears started flowing, unable to deny the truth any longer. With his head hung in shame "Sarah," Jared barely whispered.

When Jared looked backup at us, his hopeless expression made even Sargent Howder look sympathetic to what we were about to hear.

"I had taken my little sister out to the toy store," Jared began his story.

Howder quickly pulled out a pad of paper and a pen and began to take down notes.

In the observation room, Dave stepped closer to the glass, his confidence in his assistant abilities was just given a major boost when he heard,

"I'll be damned," Chief Rodgers whispered as he quickly turned the volume up making sure the recorder got all of this.

"She had her eyes on a toy that had come on TV and I couldn't say no," Jared started talking

"What toy?" I asked

"It was just some Barbie doll Sarah had seen on TV in some commercial. I don't remember what it was about. But Sarah absolutely loved it, I couldn't say no to here so, I told her we would go out and get one," Jared answered

Howder continued to take notes and I encouraged Jared to go on, "Tell us what happened,"

Taking another drink from his cup Jared tried to find some comfort in the water in his cup. When finally spoke he more or less began talking into the cup, "We got into the car and drove to Springfield Mall she was so excited," Jared told us

In the observation room Dave expression became more dour as he heard Jared tell his tale

"That Mr. Pennock is good," Rodgers commented in a hushed tone

In a whisper of his own, "He has his way and I still don't know he does it but I have learned to trust his instincts," Dave said. Watching Jared Dave not wanting to interrupt Mike turned Chief Rodgers "Can we get him some more water?"

Turning to one of his subordinates "Absolutely," Chief Rodgers agreed. The officer left to fulfill the request.

A soft knock at the door caught my attention. Not wanting to interrupt, I got up quietly while Howder continued taking notes as Jared spoke. An officer on the other side quietly said "Here is some more water," I thanked her as I accepted the water. Quietly closed the door I made my way to Jared and offered him a refill. He gave me his old cup and I gave him the new one.

Sitting back down next to Officer Howder he peered over at Jared with a bit more compassion then when Jared was first brought in. Waiting for Jared to take another drink.

"So you were in the toy store to get a doll your sister just had to have," Officer Howder somberly stated

Putting the cup back on the interrogation table "Yes I turned my back on her to reach for the doll and when I turned back around my sister was gone," Jared wailed

The shock expression on my face and Howder both said the same thing.

My super sensitive hearing heard both Dave and Chief Rodgers gasp.

Jared's head hit the table as he began to "I turned my back for just a second and when I looked back she was gone," Jared cried. I quickly got up and was by his side placing a comforting hand on his back.

The cries coming out of Jared were one of disbelief and despair, "Sarah!" Jared cried

Dave gasped so did Chief Rodgers "I will be damned,"

"I ran through the store asking anyone if they had seen her but no one did," Jared cried

"Why didn't you call the police?" Howder demanded

"I did call the police and the officer wasn't helping he kept giving me a hard time," Jared wailed

Chief Rodgers immediately called one of his deputies into the observation room. The door opened,"Yes sir?" the deputy reported

"I want the name officer who talked to Mr. Evens," Chief Rodgers growled

"This was not your fault Jared children are abducted in this manner all the time," Dave and Rodgers heard me try to comfort over the speaker

"I am her big brother I am supposed to watch after her," Jared cried

"Why did I look away?" he wailed

I turned to the one way mirror. I knew Dave could see the pain expression and I knew he felt it too.

"Mr. Evens this happens all the time you mustn't blame yourself," Officer Howder tried to sooth

"This was not your fault Jared," I reiterated

"Tell that to my parents, they threw me out, accusing me of not looking after their daughter," Jared said through even more tears.

I looked at Jared "Can you take me to the toy store?"

Howder quickly said "Mr Pennock we can't just let him go,"

"I need to know where he was standing," I told him

"What can you do?" Howder asked

"I got more just by talking to Mr. Evens than anything else," I reminded the officer

Chief Rodgers came in and said, "We can't let Mr. Evens out just yet, first I want to verify his story but he is still in trouble for the assault we can't let that go,"

"But if this story checks out I promise we will look into it," Chief Rodgers stated

"Mr. Evens, when did this happen?" Chief Rodgers asked

"Four months ago," Jared sighed in despair

"Four months and you are just now telling us?" Chief Rodgers growled

"I kept trying to call that officer, he gave me his business card, but he wouldn't even give me the time of day," Jared wailed

I saw Chief Rodgers visibly go pale at the news that one of his officers failed in their duties.

"Your sister has been missing for four months?" Dave came in and then said "That is about the same time I noticed your were coming in drunk,"

"Who did you talk to?" Chief Rodgers demanded

"An Officer Micheals he gave such a hard time I just gave up seeing my sister again," Jared answered.

I could hear the hopelessness in Jared's voice, his hands shaking as he pulled out a crumpled up business card out of his pockets and gave it to Chief Rodgers.

Rodgers looked down at the card with a mix range of expressions from disbelief to rage the Chief of Police was clearly appalled.

I thought back even four months I still might be able to find something but the trail would be really cold at this point but I needed to get to the toy store.

Looking down at the business card Chief Rodgers turned his fury on to Howder, "I want this officer found and brought here,"

"Yes Chief," Howder left to carry out the order

We all left the interrogation room "Four months that is a long time and I don't how we can find the child this late," Chief Rodgers growled

I just looked at the chief "They call it a 48 hour window for a reason," Chief Rodgers growled

I left them and then went back to Jared "Do you have anything that belongs to Sarah, anything at all?"

"In my locker there is a small cupie doll that Sarah would carry around with her, I kept with me as a reminder of her, I promised her I would never stop looking," Jared answered

I nodded leaving the room and heading back to Dave "I need to get back to the Geothermal Plant,"

"Mr. Pennock we need you right here," Chief Rodgers said

Ignoring the Chief "Dave I need to head back to the Geothermal Plant,"

"Go, I will take care of things here," Dave agreed

My truck flew down the road and when I got to the Philadelphia Geothermal Plant, I ran to Stella's station. When I got there I went to find Stella "Stella I need the master key to the lockers," I said with urgency.

Not sure why I needed the master key but still complying "Ah sure Mr. Pennock what for?" Stella asked

"I just came from the police station," I told her

"Jared I can't believe he attacked Dave," Stella said

"There is more to this situation then I can say, but I need to get into Jared locker," I told her

Stella looked over at a box on the floor "There is no need we cleaned out his locker when he was arrested,"

"Excellent I will take it," I told her and quickly picked the box up "What is going on?" Stella asked

"Things have just gotten much more complicated and time is now of the essence," I answered

"Stella to the best of your knowledge, do you know if Jared had any siblings?" I inquired

"Yes, he has a little sister cute little thing her name was Sarah," Stella answered

I took the information in "I promise to explain but you just confirmed something," I said as I ran out the door with the box in hand.

When I returned to the police station, I found Chief Rodgers chewing out the infamous Officer Micheals "How the hell do you let something of this nature go?"

"But chief, his story made no sense," the officer complained clearly. Officer Micheals thought this was a waste of his time.

"Any time there is a report of a missing child, they are always investigated," Chief Rodgers "We take all possible abductions serious and this was no exception," Chief Rodger bellowed I bypassed them and went into the room where Dave was talking to Jared "Why didn't you come to me when this first happened?"

"I didn't want to burden you with this Dave," Jared confessed

"Jared this isn't some minor problem," Dave reiterated "You were thrown out of your home I could have, would have helped there," Dave wouldn't let up,

"Had I known four months ago your sister was abducted I would have used every resource at my disposal to help you," Dave said gently

"There is no time for regrets now Jared here is your personal effects I need you to find that doll," I put the box down

Jared reached in and out popped a photograph of a little girl I picked it up "Is this her Jared,"

Jared looked at it and said "Yes we had her picture taken two weeks prior to her abduction,"

I looked at the photo and found the company logo and when Jared pulled out a small cupid doll he gave it to me "Sarah loved this doll she took it everywhere with her," his voice was cracking.

I took hold of the doll, closing my eyes. I could make out Sarah's imprint looking again at the photograph. The door opened and a very frustrated and very angry Chief Rodgers stormed, "I have talked to Officer Micheals he didn't even bother to write down a report," He bellowed

"I am so sorry that we failed you Mr. Evens," Chief Rodgers apologized.

I gave the photo to him "First here is a picture of Sarah,"

Chief Rodgers took it "Well at least we have a face to go with this story,"

"Chief it is a long shot this late of a date, however I think you should look into this photo company," I stated

Rodgers looked at the logo and in an agreement said "It can't hurt,"

"I want the name of this toy store," Chief Rodgers demanded

"Casey's toy store it is inside the Springfield Mall Pike," Jared answered

Turning to Howder Chief Rodgers ordered, "Check it out I want to know if there is anything we can find even if it is four months old,"

Officer Howder acknowledged the order and moved to carry it out.

"We will take this from here Mr. Evens you are still going to stay here until we can confirm all of this," Chief Rodgers said
