ALSO NOTE: I will be drafted into the army on September 17th, 2002. Hopefully I'll be able to get the story out one chapter per week, but don't be surprised if it stops for a month or two. Just to let you readers know.
Disclaimer: This story is fictional, and says nothing about the orientations of any member of the boyband N Sync, or any other character, celebrity or otherwise. If you are under 18 or 21, or live in a country where it's illegal to read something like this, leave, though I seriously doubt you will. If you don't like the idea of two guys in a relationship with each other, or having sex with each other, what are you doing here in the first place?
Though maybe none of the characters will be appearing, ideas taken from these places will show up:

Chapter 20 - Proposal
Life for the next few weeks was particularly hectic with Quidditch matches galore. The officials had used a point system for sorting out the teams, instead of a "you lose, you're out" system, and every team played their best and tried to score as much in-game points as they could to add to their totals. We were only given ten matches to get all our points up, and so far we had been doing a good job. We had lost about two of our games due to pure skill on the part of our opponents, and lost one match so that we wouldn't have to go up against the Riverstown Ragers. The Ragers weren't doing too badly either, having also lost one match on purpose to prevent a match against us, and one match to skill. The team, Pretty Posies, composed solely of Witches, was very skillful and fast, and was leading with an unbeaten ten matches and two thousand and fifty points, putting to shame the Macho Men, a group of highly bigoted Wizards that discriminated against anyone that lacked two hundred pounds of muscle and a penis that rose only for slender women with big breasts. They were in fifteenth place out of fifteen teams, and everyone had put them to shame easily. Scott had just finished his last match of this round, and was excitedly telling me how their win had skyrocketed the Ragers into fourth position (they had played the Macho Men this match, an easy win) and how they would get into the next round of matches if they were in the top five.
Most of my dates with Scott were spent in cafes, sipping our drinks and talking excitedly about Quidditch and our scoring and ending off with a walk by the Unshin and sex under the stars like in our first date. It was ideal since both of us loved spending time under the stars, and because his uncle's house lacked privacy, and I couldn't very well lock Casey out of his own room to share his bed with Scott. I was growing considerably nervous as my team's last match was drawing closer, and we were up against the Sligo Slickers, the second best team so far. Their keeper seemed to know every chaser trick in the book, and there had only been a total of sixty points scored against them, forty of those points scored by the Pretty Posies, and the other twenty scored by the Riverstown Ragers. The Ragers had won, though, as by luck, the snitch had flown to Farah, their seeker, just after the second goal they scored, and she had caught it easily, beating the Slickers by a close shave of ten points. What worried me most was that Aithne was a much better keeper than Malcolm, but she was now a referee in the league, and Malcolm was psyching himself out just anticipating the match.
Scott calmed me down easily, saying that win or lose, the Flaming Filans had certainly made the Wizard news by being the only Hedge Quidditch team that had score more than a thousand points total. We wre currently in sixth place, and if we could get past the Slickers' keeper, we could probably pull into the fifth position, letting us enter the next round of matches. But in the excitement of the matchesm I had forgotten something important. Deadly important.
I lay next to Scott on the grass as we gazed quietly at the stars. My last match was tomorrow afternoon, and I was a little too jittery to have sex with Scott at the moment, something he took in stride. We had talked to each other about everything and nothing, and now we just took the time to bask in each others' presence. I enjoyed looking at the stars from the riverbank while the sound of water calmed my mind. I was lying on Scott's muscular arm the whole time, and briefly wondered if I was cutting off his circulation. He didn't say anything, so I assumed I wasn't being uncomfortable. After a moment, Scott shifted his arm, and I raised my head to let him slide it out from under my neck. I turned to my side to look him in the eyes as he did the same to look at me. Grinning, the starlight twinkling in his eyes, he leaned forward and kissed me on my nose.
"I have something to ask you," Scott said, raising himself up to sit cross-legged. I got up and mimicked his position, clasping his large hands in my own. "We've known each other for about two months now, and I admit that I've been having a lot of fun. But I know that this period of time is going to end."
Pain shot through my heart like a spike, and I bit my lip to stop tears from showing. Scott continued, unaware of my pain. "The only thing I can say is that I've enjoyed getting to know you, and you getting to know me."
"What are you trying to say?" I asked slowly, trying not to sound bitter.
"I think," Scott said slowly, "that we should stop dating."
I removed my hands from his and put them on my lap. The night suddenly seemed cold, and I felt like my source of warmth and light had just gone out. After staring at the ground for a while, I stood up to go, not wanting to sit out there any longer. I couldn't turn to face Scott, my heart hurt by his actions. He reached up and grabbed my hand as I tried to leave, and I didn't have the heart to jerk my hand free. I just stood there, holding his hand, my eyes closed. I could feel Scott shifting his position. "Dylan, please, look at me."
I couldn't help but look at him, still holding my tears back. There before me knelt Scott Andrews on one knee, and a beautiful silver ring in the palm of the hand not holding mine. The silver seemed to capture the light of the moon and stars, twinkling beautifully.
"I think that we should stop dating," Scott repeated. "And take the next step."
My heart leapt, beating excitedly, blissfully as Scott smiled at me and asked, "Dylan Filan, will you marry me?"
I stopped holding the tears in, and I let them fall down my face, but this time they were no longer sorrowful. Instead, they were happy, sparkling and warm. I don't know how I managed to breathe it out, but Scott got his answer, and he was crying too. Standing up beside me, he slowly slipped the ring onto my finger. I sobbed as I grabbed him into a hug, then kissed him. Scott held me close, and we just stood there for a while kissing. I rubbed my hands over his firm butt and squeezed it a little. Scott giggled, and put his hands under my shirt, rubbing my chest. I pulled my shirt over my head, then undid my pants and let them drop, kicking them to one side. I had felt kinky this afternoon and wanted to try something different, and decided not to wear any underwear. Scott's eyebrows raised in amusement at that, and I leaned to kiss him. He unbuttoned his shirt, and tossed it to one side, then pulled his jeans down. "I guess we both had the same idea."
He got down to his proposal position again, but instead of speaking, this time he took my raging hard-on into his mouth. He sucked me slowly and passionately, swallowing me whole with no problem as he bobbed his head up and down. I moaned in pleasure as his mouth and tongue worked wonders on my dick, and I loved every second of it. I brought his hand up to my mouth and licked his index and middle fingers, getting as much saliva on them as possible. Scott stopped sucking for a moment and looked up at me. "Are you sure?"
"Yes," I said, nodding. All the times with Scott, I had always been top. Scott nodded, then went back to sucking. I moaned again in pleasure as Scott slowly and gently stuck his two wet fingers into my hole. He slowly moved them in and out in rythm with his sucking. Then his fingers struck my prostate, and a wave of pleasure shot through me. I lost control, and began spurting into his mouth. When I was done, Scott stood again, and we kissed, playing with our tongues and with my cum. I enjoyed the taste, but I preferred Scott's far more than mine. Scott broke the kiss, and I slowly laid on the ground. Scott knelt before my ass, and slowly began licking around my hole, then began to flick his tongue in and out, causing me to moan again with pleasure. Then he slowly placed his cock at my ass, looking at me one more time for confirmation.
"Hard and fast," I moaned. Scott looked at me in surprise. I nodded, making up my mind. Scott looked doubtful, but he did as I said and plunged straight in. I wondered briefly how I managed to go without screaming, but I took it all in. Scott shot me another concerned look, but I gritted my teeth and nodded again. Scott pulled out quickly, then thrust in again quickly. My butt flamed with pain, but also with pleasure. He thrust into me again, slamming hard, then again.
"Faster," I moaned. Scott smiled devilishly, then proceeded to pound my ass even faster and harder. I gasped and panted with every thrust, throughly enjoying myself. Scott moaned and tilted his head back, his cum shooting into me as he collapsed on my chest. Then he pulled himself out, and began to suck at my ass, scooping his cum out with his tongue and giving me an excellent rimming. He stopped rimming me and kissed me, mingling his cum with the remnants of mine, and my ass juices altogether. Normally I would find it disgusting, but at this moment, I found it hot and kinky, and I kissed him passionately. Looking into his eyes, I said, "I love you, Scott."
"I love you too, Dylan," Scott replied, his eyes twinkling like the stars above that shone down on us. "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
"Remind me that I have to get a ring for you as well," I smiled as we lay together. Scott grunted an affirmative, and the two of us drifted off to sleep in each others' arms.
The sky was dark the next morning when I woke up, and the day was colder than was normal for summer. My watch said it was nearly eleven, but the sky looked more like midnight than late morning. The whole atmosphere seemed charged with energy and tension. Scott was thrashing wildly before he woke up, covered in sweat from some unknown nightmare. I could feel my body tingling in full alert mode, and something was making me uneasy. Scott could feel it too once he was awake, and quickly, the two of us dressed ourselves and made our way to the car.
We returned to Aunt's Sharon's house to find the door bashed in, and broken windows everywhere. The house was dark as Scott and I rushed inside. There were sounds of fighting coming from upstairs, and downstairs was completely wrecked. I rushed upstairs, worried about what I would find there. Scott rushed up behind me, his wand ready for combat. There were two huge vampires waiting at the top of the stairs. The first lunged at me with a roar, and I rolled forward, phasing right through him. He smashed into the banister, breaking a huge chunk of it. I grabbed one of the thinner wood pieces and staked him from behind. Scott had taken out the second vampire with a fire spell, and the flaming creature was tumbling down the stairs, the magical flames burning nothing else except the vampire. Seamus' room door crashed open, a vampire tumbling out of the room. Seamus held something silvery-black in his hands, and when the vampire got up, he flicked it on, and sliced the vampire's head clean off with a green lightsaber. He had a sling bag around his body, and when he saw me, he reached into his bag and grabbed another lightsaber, tossing it my way.
Just in time too, as a vampire crashed out of Casey's room, charging straight at me. With the lightsaber in hand, I switched it on, releasing a bright yellow beam. I was grateful for my kendo and fencing hobbies, and my interest in Star Wars, causing me to read the Visual Dictionary to figure out the basic Jedi positions for fighting. It was a casual interest at the time to help with my mix of kendo and fencing, but it served a useful purpose now. With an easy spin, I sliced the vampire's head off, turning it into dust. The lightsaber was perfect, light enough for speed, and the energy blade could cut through things a lot better than a sword.
"De others are on de Quidditch pitch," Seamus said as he made his way to Scott and myself. "Oi came back ter git de lightsabers Ah've been workin' on for de past few months."
"You managed to make working lightsabers?" Scott asked, his eyes wide open. Seamus nodded. "Wi' fairy 'elp, av course."
I put everything together. "They helped to find the crystals and power source. You did the rest and you made one for each of us?"
Seamus nodded as we ran down the stairs. "Oi figured they'd cum in useful, an' Oi wus gonna revayle dem after de match, but now dat we're bein' attacked by an army av vampires..."
I cut him of by swinging my lightsaber wide across, cutting the head of a vampire that rushed at us at the base of the stairs.
"Yer can use it loike a stake if yer need ter," Seamus said. "De energy burns, so it kills dem when their 'eart gits burnt."
"Cool," I grinned. "Let's get to the others."
We crossed through the magical boundary between the yard and the pitch, and I was shocked by the sight before me. There seemed like hundreds of vampires on the pitch, trying to get at my family at the centre of the field. Shane was holding up a shield with his kindred powers, and the vampires couldn't get past it, not matter how the tried.
"You all right?" I asked Scott. He nodded quickly, and brandished his wand. Seamus nodded quickly, and I shouted a war cry as best I could. The three of us charged into the crowd of vampires, Scott setting them on fire while Seamus and I sliced and cut our way through the undead army. We cut a path through to our family, and Shane dropped his shield for a moment to let us in.
Ryan grabbed me into a hug. "Glad you could make it back."
Seamus was explaining about the lightsabers and how to use them, and gave one to each person except Rachel and Aunt Sharon, the only two without kindred powers. At Shane's order, he dropped his shield, and the group of us began to cut our way through the vampires. Scott stayed behind to guard Aunt Sharon and Rachel, though that was more a precaution than anything. Just because the girls in my family didn't inherit the kindred powers didn't mean they were weak. Rachel could definitely handle a few vampires, and with magic, a few more. But she lacked the quick reflexes and powers of the kindred, and would tire out more easily than we would. I would have to make a date with Uncle Peter and ask him to explain what he knew about the kindred, since he was our only living link to our powers now that his two brothers were dead.
With the flashing lights of red, green, blue and yellow lightsabers, the army of vampires was reduced to dust in a matter of minutes, and many of them had fled in fear of the burning blades. But our happiness was short-lived. An invisible force flung Ryan across the pitch, his lightsaber going out as it collapsed next to him.
"Ryan!" Rachel shouted as she raced across the pitch. Casey screamed loudly, then collapsed as though he had been hit by something heavy. Aunt Sharon raced to Casey, her motherly instincts rising to the surface.
"Mam, stay back!" Seamus shouted. Aunt Sharon stumbled, then clutched at her throat, as though gagging for air. Seamus screamed with rage, and rushed towards her, lightsaber swinging wildly to hit the invisible threat. Before he could reach his mother, however, he was flung back by the same force that threw Ryan. Shane quickly used his power to slam the area where he thought our invisible opponent roughly stood. It was a perfect shot, and a figure appeared from nowhere, falling to the ground. Aunt Sharon gulped deeply, taking in air. The figure stood up straight and tall, an imposing figure. He was deathly white, completely bald, with basic features. His face was contorted, like all vampires' faces were, and he was wearing a black robe, contrasting with his skin and making him more intimidating.
"Baile!" I shouted, rushing towards him.
"Filan!" he snarled. "You have caused me enough worries. I sought you amongst your family, but found you not, but here you are, and you will die today!"
"All words," I taunted, stopping a few metres away from him, glaring at him. He stumbled a bit as Shane's power hit him again, but he stood firm. At a word from him, Shane yelled out in pain, crashing to the ground writhing in pain.
"Your family need not die," Baile said calmly. He glanced at Malcolm and flung him through the air to the ground in a crumpled heap. Aunt Sharon and Rachel were sobbing, and Scott was just standing rooted to the spot, stunned. Baile pulled his robe back and drew a sword from inside it. The sword was throbbing with magical energy, and was glowing like my lightsaber, but not as brightly.
"It will be a pleasure killing you, Filan," Baile sneered.
"Less talk, more action," I snapped, circling him, lightsaber at the ready. Baile gave a polite nod of his head, and we circled each other. I waited for him to make the first move, and his vampire bloodlust gave me that advantage. Baile rushed at me, swinging his sword near my neck. I dodged easily and spun, nicking the back of his leg. I held my blade in a defensive position and waited for him to turn around. Baile snarled as he spun around and charged me again. I parried his strike easily, dodged and sliced his arm as he rushed past me. Growling, he charged again, this time more slowly, his sword striking with more measured strokes. I blocked and parried the flurry of attacks, then countered back wih my own offensive manuevers, placing him on the defensive. I had the advantage of a light blade, and it helped to conserve precious energy as I attacked. I tried to find an opening in his parries, but found no advantage for a while. Then I feinted a strike to his left, and spun around, striking his unguarded right side. Baile roared in pain, his fangs bared. I remained calm as I heard the voice of my kendo teacher's voice in my head. "Don't look at his sword, or it will draw you to itself and strike you. Don't look at his eyes, they will charm you like a predator charms its prey. Look at his whole body and see how they work to make his next move. Find your center, for knowing yourself is half the battle won."
Baile's body language indicated a slight tiredness, and I took advantage of that as I struck at his legs. He was unprepared for the attack, and he stumbled back with a clumsy parry. With a quick swing, I disarmed him and opened his defense, my lightsaber thrusting towards his heart. It stopped half an inch away from his chest, then I felt myself being flung backwards through the air. I used my powers to become weightless, and got up unhurt. Baile saw me from the distance, and he raised his sword high in the sky, shouting something I coudln't understand.
"NO!!" Scott shouted. He began running towards me, his wand waving intricately. Baile pointed his sword at me, his chanting reaching a climax. A dark black blast ensued from the tip of his sword, moving towards me ever so slowly. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as Scott stood in front of me, a green shield-like spell blocking us from the death ray. Baile was screaming angrily, and Scott was shouting words loudly to keep up his spell, but he was sweating furiously and looked tired. I began to feel dizzy, and I struggled to keep my eyes open, but my vision was fading to white. I gasped for air, and finally passed out.
Three weeks had passed since the incident with Baile. Both the Flaming Filans and the Riverstown Ragers had been taken out of the league due to member injuries. We spent most of our time recuperating from our injuries. Melvin, Joy and Reuben were a great help and support for us during that time, and slowly things seemed to get back to normal.
I sat next to Scott at the top of the hill next to Aunt Sharon's house, and I looked out to the west. I could almost see the ocean, and in my mind's eye, I could see America there. I slowly lay back next to Scott and stared at the sky. The sun was covered from sight on this cloudy day, but it was still quite bright overall. I don't know how long I lay next to Scott, but finally I had to get up, despite not wanting to.
"My plane leaves in two hours," I turned to Scott. "I have to go back to the States today, and you'll obviously be staying here."
The breeze blew softly, and I closed my eyes to bask in it. I opened my eyes after a while, remembering the flight I had to catch.
"Bye Scott," I said, turning to go. I shoved my hands into my pockets and felt something hard and metallic in my right pocket. I slowly withdrew a silver ring with celtic knotwork designs all over it and held it in my hands.
"Before I forget," I said, turning back to Scott. "I promised to get you a ring too."
I knelt before the marble cross and pressed the ring near the top, mentally talking to the earth elementals that lived in the stone. Slowly, the marble gave way and held the ring in place, ensuring that everyone could see it, but no one could pry it out. I looked again at the markings on the cross, holding back tears.
"Scott Andrews, 1982-2001. May he rest in peace for his sacrifice," I read aloud, running my fingers over the black engraving. I glanced to my left and noticed a few wildflowers growing there. Reverently, I asked to pick them, and gathered a small bouquet. Placing it at the base of the gravestone, I remembered Scott's first bouquet of flowers for me, wildflowers like those I had just picked. Standing up again, I took one more look at Scott's grave, lying next to my father's and Uncle James' graves in the Filan graveyard.
"Goodbye Scott," I whispered. I bowed respectfully to my father's and uncle's graves as I passed them to get to the car. Joy, Reuben and Melvin were waiting patiently for me, their faces showing concern and sadness as well. Malita was there too, and I hugged her. She broke down and sobbed, and I began to soothe her.
"Take care, sis," I said when Malita finally calmed down. She smiled gently as she acknowledged that I now considered her family despite not actually marrying Scott. But it didn't matter to me, I felt pretty much like I had married him, and his family was now mine.
"Give me a few minutes," Reuben said, getting out of the car. Joy nodded, and Reuben made his way to the grave to say his own goodbyes to his cousin. Malita looked at me sadly. "I guess I should get back now. Have a safe trip back to the States, brother."
"I'll give you call once we touch down," I said, hugging her again. She made her way down the slope to the house, turned around, and gave me a wave, before going into the house. Rachel and Ryan would be staying on for a while to be with her until school started again for her in a day or so, then they would fly back to the States as well.
Reuben came back from Scott's grave, his eyes slightly red. I hugged him and he hugged me back. "You okay, cuz?" I asked. He smiled slightly, then nodded.
"Come on," he said, getting into the driver's seat. I sat next to him in the front while Melvin and Joy sat behind with our luggage. "We have a plane to catch." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ End Season 1
As you may know from reading above, I'm going to be enlisted in the army on the 17th of this month, and at best, I can only update once a week, though sometimes it may be longer, but I'll do my best to get chapters done. Hope you've enjoyed reading the story, and look out for Season 2! Email Leo at: dylan@celticwarrior.com
