A TALE OF TWO BOYBANDS
CHAPTER XX
**
"At this late in the night, I'm afraid we don't have many rooms available. How many rooms, sir?" The desk clerk asked.
JC looked at the tired faces of his fellow bandmates along with their five bodyguards. They had been on the road for several days continuing to promote their new album. It was time to rest. He quickly counted the heads surrounding him.
"Five doubles, please." JC said.
"Five double rooms? Let me see." The desk clerk replied, checking the computer database. "I apologize for the inconvenience, but we only have four doubles available."
"Okay, then." JC said with a hint of disappointment. "We'll take the four doubles and two singles."
The clerk checked with the computer once more. After much typing, she diverted her attention from the computer screen to the gregarious tired men.
"I'm afraid there is only one single available. Apparently, tonight is a very popular night to check into our Five Star hotel." The clerk told them.
"That's unacceptable." Lance stepped in front of JC. "Do you know who we are? We're `N Sync and we are tired. We've been on the road for the past week and we need a place to stay. Tell me you can't arrange for someone to leave."
"Excuse me, sir." The woman was not backing down. "We treat all our paid customers with the same dignity and respect. Like I said before, tonight's one of our busiest nights. There are only four doubles and one single vacant. Would you like to book them, sirs?"
"No!" All the men said, simultaneously.
"Yes." Justin quickly corrected them. "We'll have all the rooms you can give us."
Justin flashed JC his winning smile that seemed to melt JC's heart away. The clerk handed them their keys to their room. Everyone began to make their way to the elevator except for JC. He couldn't move. The warm feeling inside seemed to melt right through him and transcended into the carpeted floor, keeping his feet glued to the floor. It wasn't until a moment later when Justin slid his hand into JC's pockets to get a hold of his hand that JC finally moved. They entered the elevator together and without paying attention to their surrounding, they allowed their hands to touch and to caress one another.
Several hours later, the moon replaced the sun, lingering in the dark skies. JC still continued to punish himself for hurting the one person he loved most, who had been more than loving to him. For the sake of 'N Sync and more importantly, JC, Justin had to learn to forgive JC and trust him and love him, again. It was Josh and Just, again, once more. However, tonight, it would take all of his courage to prove to JC that he still loved him no matter what.
One bedroom. And one bed. Although, they had shared rooms in the past, this was their first night having to share one bed. While JC was in the bathroom changing, Justin stood at the foot of the bed and stared intensely at it. A teardrop suddenly appeared from no where and washed off his chin. He quickly wiped it away. Josh was not to see his pain. He made sure the door was locked before returning to the bed. He stood for a moment longer. It was time. He began to slowly pull his shirt over his head, dropping it on the floor. He closed his eyes and allowed his hands to travel along his chest. Getting a hold of the zipper, he slowly pulled down his zippers and soon his jeans joined his shirt on the floor followed by his boxers. Justin maneuvered himself onto the bed. He cushioned himself in between the sheets and waited for JC's return.
JC spent the past several minutes crying and brushing his teeth. Every time he looked into Justin's eyes, he only saw pain past his smile. He knew that Justin still loved him. That love was pure and unconditional. There was nothing JC could do to take that love away from Justin's heart. However, at the same time, JC could sense the pain tugging within his heart. It was tearing JC's apart. They would spend the waking hours talking and laughing like old times. They would play video games and basketball. JC would write his music with Justin being the inspiration sitting beside him. After he would finish writing the lyrics to a song, Justin would take his guitar and groove to the beat in his head. Through untamed eyes, they looked like the perfect couple embraced in each other arms to shield one another from the cold of the night, but JC knew better. When JC looked into Justin's eyes, the enchanting spark no longer existed. When JC touched him, he swore Justin would recoil into his own little world. Justin no longer smile or laugh. The life in this once precocious teenager was draining out of him as if was bleeding from the inside. Night after night, though they would share the same room- they still requested separate beds. And like always before, JC couldn't resist hopping into the bed next to his, shielding Justin's tender flesh from the wintery night's wrath. Justin would allow JC to take him in his arms, wrapped him in his strong embrace. It was much safer in JC's arms than in his bed alone. And even though, they were wrapped up in each other's arms, Justin was still very distant. JC would hold him in his strong arms into the night, but as soon as the night wore on, Justin would balled up into an infant position- his hands tucked in between his legs over his crotch as if to protect himself from further violation. He was protecting himself from JC. JC would repeatedly night after night, carefully shift the sleeping boy away from his embrace. He would wake up at the crack of dawn when no one could hear his solemn cries behind the bathroom door as he was doing right now.
He quickly wetted his face with warm water and patted his face dry with a wash cloth. He put on his robe and walked out. It was time for another lonesome night. Upon JC's return, Justin emerged from under the covers completely nude and crawled to the foot the bed over the sheets.
"What are you doing, Just?" JC asked, walking to the side of the bed.
Justin remained quiet. He shifted around in the bed to face JC despite JC's attempt to escape him. He looked into JC's baby blues, while his hands reached for JC's robe. He undid JC's robe. The robe slipped off JC's strong body. He reached for the band of JC's boxers when JC stopped his advances. Still, Justin was persistent to prove his undying love for him. He wrapped his arms around JC's neck and pulled him slowly down onto the bed. Their bodies rubbed against one another. Although, flaccid their love wands, they didn't need a physiological change in their body to tell them that this was love. Their relationship had never been based on pure sexual attraction, but rather it was an emotional tug of war- needing one another all the time.
Justin lanced forward, tackling JC onto the bed. He removed JC's boxers even at JC's request to not do so. When there they were both rid of the clothing- absolutely nothing stood in between them, Justin began to meticulously place kisses on the entire length of JC's body. The touch of Justin's delicate lips on his body was enough to send JC's then flaccid penis poking into Justin's navel. Justin giggled at the ticklish sensation he felt on his navel. JC's eyes wandered all over the angelic figure before him. The natural lights emitting from the moon hanging in the sky shone through to illuminate all of Justin's most beautiful features. His silky curls brushed against JC as he kissed his neck. The shadows from his long, thick lashes darkened under his eyes. His soft face seemed to glow when JC looked at him. His full lips moistened rosy. His sculpted body glistened under the light. Even the phallus between his legs engorged to a beautiful site unlike the others JC had witnessed. Yet, JC knew better not to get too excited. Justin was a 19-year-old boy and like all boys his age, he had little control over his bodily changes. JC could count many times when little Justin appeared from no where at odd times during the day. It was nothing to get too excited about.
As the night lingered on, Justin eventually made his way to JC's vibrating crotch. Already, JC's manhood doubled in size. If Justin continued his assault, JC was sure he was going to burst open. He wondered where in the hell did Justin learn such technique. Then, again, there were many things that came natural to Justin like his smooth provocative dance moves on stage or how natural it was for him to grab his crotch during a performance…just enough of the crotch to excite all biologically alive bodies in the arena. The night was too perfect. A night JC did not deserve.
"I can't." JC finally said, getting off from the bed. He headed towards the door, not wanting to hear Justin's emotional cries for him.
"Why?! Why, Josh? I love you." Justin wailed out loud to no one, but the night as was JC was already gone.
JC ran and ran, ignoring the doors along the corridor as they opened. He heard nothing. He saw nothing. His eyes locked on the opening doors of the elevator. He had to get in. Only there, would he feel safe. At last, he managed to slip into the elevator just before it shut the world behind him. Once inside, JC slid down onto the floor and began sobbing uncontrollably to himself. His hands clutched his stomach and JC collapsed further onto the floor. Minutes later, the door swung open and JC, only in his boxers, crawled out. He got up to his feet and ran into the night, screaming and cursing himself.
"Justin!" JC dropped down on his knees in the middle of puddle of water left by the rain the previous night. He crawled away from the puddle and buried himself behind some boxes. "I love you, Justin." He kept murmuring. "I will always love you."
And true were his words. JC's love for Justin would always be. He would never stop loving Justin so long as he was breathing. Loving Justin was like breathing. He could not live without breathing and he could not live without loving Justin. He picked himself up from the cement floor and walked out of the dimly lit alley. He walked for several more blocks. There wasn't a single soul in sight. That was good as he was in no mood to talk to anyone. Finally, after an hour of soul searching, he found what he was looking for. A telephone booth appeared from no where in the dark. It stood several feet away JC straight in his path. He had no other choice, but to walk through. He entered the close confinements of the booth and sank to the floor. With his long arms, he reached for the telephone. He clutched it close to his heart, afraid to let it go. After another crying spell, JC composed himself and made a long distance phone call to a country home in Kentucky.
"Hello." The familiar voice said.
"Brian Littrell, please." JC said in return.
Kevin dropped the phone, leaving it to dangle off the end table. He turned around in the direction of the stairs and called out for Brian. Within minutes, Brian was making his way down the stairs- still weak after his discharge from the hospital a few days earlier.
"Yeah." Brian said, walking to his cousin.
Kevin said nothing. He handed the phone to Brian and ran upstairs to hide himself from Brian. He didn't want his cousin to see the pain in his eyes. Brian looked at his cousin and shook his head. He held the phone and spoke.
"Hello." Brian said. "Who's this?"
There was no answer, only sobs on the other line.
"Hello, who's this?" Brian asked, again.
"This is JC Chasez from 'N Sync."
"Yeah, I know. Is something wrong, JC?" Brian was becoming more worried by the minute. "Is Justin okay?"
"Meet me at the subway station on 9th Street as soon as possible. And don't bring anyone with you."
"JC! Wait!" Brian shrieked into the phone, but there was no answer. Only the sound of the dial tone and the voice of the operator filled the line.
Brian quickly hung up. Brian, being now fully recuperated at the sense of Justin being in danger, rushed upstairs to grab his coat and keys. Despite the advice from his doctors to take things slowly for the week, Brian darted across the yard and into the garage where his car was kept. He crashed onto the driver's seat and sped away swiftly, not paying attention to the dark shadow in the window on the second floor.
Meanwhile, as Brian pulled out of his country home driveway, JC had since returned to the hotel. The elevator door opened to reveal his two bandmates. They had been waiting for his return all night. Within hours, the night would surrender to the morning sun. Yet another sleepless night despite not working.
"Where the fuck did you go?" Chris asked JC as he stepped out of the elevator.
JC ignored Chris, pushing him off to the side, which aggravated the already tensed Chris. Chris jumped to his feet ready to attack JC when Joey stepped in and pulled him away, allowing JC to make his escape. JC walked down the corridor, following the light on floor. Several more steps, he found himself in front of his room with Justin. JC closed his eyes as he turned the knob. The door opened and he could see in the corner of his eyes, Justin, now asleep on the bed. He walked further inside, stripping away his wet boxers. JC walked to the side of the bed. He hovered over Justin to lean in for a kiss when the boy suddenly opened his eyes. Upon seeing JC completely nude standing over him, Justin sprang up from the bed, pounding his fists into JC's chest. JC planted his feet firmly, taking in all of Justin's anger. Once the pounding ended, JC stepped away from the bed. He opened a drawer and retrieved some clothes to put on. After he finished getting dressed, he went into the closet for a luggage. He returned to the drawers and stuffed some clothes in the luggage. Instantly, Justin scrambled for the floor, landing hard on the floor, but nonetheless, he rushed to JC. He grabbed his legs to prevent him from leaving when he realized the luggage did not belong to JC, but his own and the clothes inside his. Justin released JC's legs and fell back onto the floor, baffled.
"We need to talk." JC said, kneeling down beside Justin. "Come on."
Justin looked into JC's clear baby blues. He shook his head. JC's image sat vaguely before him- clouded by his tears in his deep blues. Hesitantly he took JC's hand. JC pulled Justin off the floor and led him outside. They walked, hand in hand, Justin's head rested on JC's chest- a luggage hanging off JC's free hand.
Lance walked out of his room in time to see Justin being led down the empty corridor by JC. He ran after them, hollering after them, as were the others, but they seemed to hear nothing, see nothing. The elevator doors opened as they reached the elevator. JC set Justin in the corner and shut the door to Lance and the others.
The elevator doors opened once more. This time, there was not a soul in sight. The clock plastered on the wall above them struck 1:00 am as they walked out of the elevator. They walked through the empty lobby, passed the sleeping receptionist and the two security guards resting their heads against each other. They walked out of the hotel and stopped in front of the rental car. JC opened the door to the passenger seat and placed Justin inside, securing his seatbelt. It was going to be a long ride.
