Matt
When I laid down to go to sleep the night we got back from the football game I was head over heels in love. I didn't know whether it was time to let him in on that but I was over the moon. Jared came into my life right at the best possible moment, at a time when I really needed someone by my side.
I was an only child who grew up in a tiny town, Delaware City, Delaware. Population 1,700. My dad was an engineer for DuPont and my mom taught college at Temple University in Philadelphia. I had a normal childhood that was pretty boring. School came easy and I skated to a 3.7 GPA in high school. I came out when I was 15 and my parents were very supportive. I didn't know how they were going to react at first but they told me how much they loved me especially because I was the only child they would ever have.
When I went off to college I chose the University of Delaware because it was just a 20-minute drive away. I lived on campus and had all kinds of fun, but if I needed to go home, it was just a quick drive away. I dated a few guys but I was never really in love with any of them. For a while I wondered if there was something wrong with me. I could get sex but that got boring after a while because most of them never lasted longer than one night. I wanted something more but wasn't finding it.
Jared was someone I felt at ease around. He has more empathy than anyone I've ever met and he's wise beyond his years. God I'm blushing just talking about him. At first him being a pilot was a turn on but it's a lot more about that. No matter what he did for a job he would still be the man I married. He's an old soul and wise way beyond his years. I'm blushing again. I found out the week after the football game just how loving and caring he really was.
Jared and I met up for lunch at the dining hall in the Bernhard Center and he decided to come back to my dorm with me afterwards. We rode the bus up the hill behind the football stadium to Spindler Hall. When we arrived Jared went down the hall to use the bathroom and that's when my cell phone rang.
"Matt honey," my mom said, sniffling. Terror rose in my throat as I wondered what was coming next. "Your grandma Anne died." I dropped the phone and started sobbing. My grandmother was a beautiful person. She was an elementary school teacher who was very selfless and generous to people in need. She was not your stereotypical grandma who baked cookies and pies, she never let her age slow her down. She was also my babysitter when I was little so she was a big part of my childhood.
I laid down on my bed and sobbed. I couldn't believe it. I'd hugged her goodbye before I left for Michigan just a couple weeks before.
"Matt can you pick up the phone please," I heard my mom say through my tears. I was too busy processing the news and sobbing my eyes out into my pillow to talk to her anymore. That's when Jared walked into the room and I looked up at him. At first he was confused as to how I could go from normal to a bawling blob of tears in a matter of minutes. My mother was pleading with me to talk to her through the phone on the floor and Jared picked it up.
"Hi, I know this is awkward but my name is Jared and I'm Matt's...boyfriend. I'm his boyfriend. I'll make sure he's okay. What's going on?"
"His grandmother died," I heard her say on the other end. She continued on but I tuned it out and went back to crying.
"I'll take care of him. I'll stay with him," he said to my mom. "Okay, yes, bye."
"I'm sorry you have to see me like this," I said rubbing my nose.
"Don't be. You let it all out," he said putting his arm around me. "Your mom says the funeral is on Saturday and that it's up to you if you want to go."
"Yeah I'm going to be there, is that even a question?" I replied.
"And she says she wants to meet me too."
I smiled and said "You just showed me that you really are someone I'd want my mom to meet."
He was taken aback a little bit when I said that. That's when I saw his man-with-a-plan side kick in and I knew I was in love.
"All right, we need to get you a flight booked. That's goal number one. Second, we need to get you packed and are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm good." I looked him straight in the eye and said "Having you here is making one of the worst days of my life a lot easier." He wrapped me up in a big, tight hug and said "I'm glad."
Later that evening after sitting through a regression analysis class I didn't hear a word of Jared and I went to the computer center to look up flights to Philadelphia. I almost broke down down and sobbed again even in front of all the people in there when the cheapest ticket we could find was $900. He knew I was emotionally fragile and it was like he knew exactly what to do. Before I could start crying again he put his hand on my shoulder and said "Matt, you're going to be there on Saturday. I will drive you there myself if I have to."
I put my arms around him and pulled him as close as I could. I weeped into his shoulder for a second but they were tears of relief. We looked at taking the train but we'd have to go all the way to Chicago before backtracking across Indiana on the way to Philadelphia. So we ended up driving. I was honestly pretty amazed at Jared's ability to think on his feet and form a plan and execute it. On Thursday he went to a AAA office to get driving directions all the way to Delaware. Then on Friday morning we set out in that big comfortable Oldsmobile on a journey that would take at least 11 hours without any stops.
Within an hour we were in Indiana and after another we were in Ohio. I zoned out as the plains and corn fields rolled by as we traversed Interstate 80/90. By lunchtime we were in Cleveland and then by dinnertime Pittsburgh. We crossed the entire state of Pennsylvania before finally entering my home state at around 1:30 AM. I gave him directions the rest of the way to 311 Bradley Street, the only home I ever knew as a kid.
"Matt," my mom said as she embraced me in a tight hug. "I love you so much," she said with pain in her voice. That's when she turned her attention to Jared. She hugged him longer than she hugged me.
"Thank you so much. You are such a kind soul," she said through tears. "My son is so lucky to have you." She stepped back keeping her hands on his arms.
I could tell he was flattered but he's also modest.
"We haven't been together that long," he laughed. "But seriously he deserves to be here."
"I'm Laura by the way," she said before she hugged him again and then announced she was going to bed.
"My room is this way," I said as I led him to my bedroom. As soon as we got in the door I turned around and pushed him back up against it as we kissed passionately. He and I quickly shed our clothes and were in my bed.
"I just want you to hold me," I whispered, still exhausted from such a long day of driving. Jared reached into his backpack and retrieved a condom and the lube bottle. We got into the spooning position and then before long he was inside me. We were both exhausted which made us work harder for every movement. Jared made slow, smooth love to me as we went back and forth, our breathing and moaning speeding up and slowing down. I jerked my own dick as Jared thrusted in and out of me, the pleasure building with each and every movement. My prostate was sending waves of pleasure all the way down to my curled toes. Just then Jared grunted and groaned as he finished.
"Stop that," he whispered as I still had my dick in my hand. Jared knelt down and took me in his mouth as he fingered my prostate. I lasted about 20 seconds before I couldn't take it anymore. Just then I blasted, my cum pumping down his throat.
Jared rolled over and said "I'm so fucking hungry."
"There's an IHOP about 15 minutes away and it's open 24 hours," I said in a suggesting tone.
"Well you're driving," he replied. He pulled his keys out of his pocket and tossed them to me as he put on his shorts and slid into his flip-flops. We loaded into Jared's car and I had a hard time figuring out where the key hole was. I backed out and made the turn to leave my neighborhood and made a right to head west on Route 9. It was a winding road through rural Delaware until we came to an intersection with another major route. Right around the corner was our spot. We both looked like crap but we didn't care. The waitress definitely noticed though.
"You boys look like like you've been run ragged," she said. Her nametag said Norma and she was heavier set with gray hair. "What are you drinking?"
"Pepsi with no ice," Jared replied. That's one of his quirks.
"Pepsi's fine," I decided.
"We drove all the way here from Michigan," Jared piped up.
"That'll do it," she replied.
"So how are you feeling?" Jared turned to me and asked.
"I'm okay. You've been my rock," I said seriously and he smiled.
"Oh, uh..." he managed, blushing.
"I like you a lot, Jared. Everything you've done in the last couple days, you have no idea how much it means to me."
"You made my heart skip a beat just now," Jared uttered in a surprised tone.
We finished our meal and went back to my parents' house. We both flopped into bed and just held each other for a while before I couldn't hold it in anymore.
"I love you."
"Okay," Jared whispered. I had a feeling he'd think this was premature.
"We haven't been together very long but I think I love you too."
