Supernatural: Outer Beings

"It's not funny, Sammy." Dean argued.

"I think it was. You ran from an itty bitty dog." Sam chuckled.

"Sam, I'm not saying it again." Dean said angrily.

There was a knock on the door.

"Who could that be?" Sam asked.

Dean put his hand on his gun and slowly pulled the door open to see me standing outside in the rain.

Chapter 34: Room View

"You're sure you're okay?" Sam said, watching me as if I was going to shatter into many pieces, "You look cold."

I didn't say anything.

"You're not going to say anything?" Dean asked, a little upset.

"Dean." Sam sighed.

"No, he took off without saying a word to us, or the other two idiots who are looking for him. He's got some explaining to do." Dean pressed, walking over and grabbing me, "Where were you?!"

"Dean." Sam said.

"No, it's okay." I said, "You're right, I just keep on disappointing you. It's all about you and what you want." I said angrily.

"Dammit, don't do that! Don't you freakin do that!" Dean shouted, "What is with you?"

"I wasn't sure you were here." I said.

"How did you find us?" Sam asked.

I looked at them.

"Seriously? You can do that?" Dean asked.

"What, you gonna kill me now?" I asked.

Dean just stared.

"Lilith isn't just after you two morons, she's trying to bring about the end...and it starts in a town not far from here." I said.

"How can you be certain?" Sam asked.

"I just know." I said. They both looked at me carefully, neither one saying anything, "

"So, does this mean you're coming with us?" Dean ventured.

"No." I said, "No, I'm not."

"So, you expect us to just let you go out again?" Sam asked.

"I just need rest." I said.

"Rest?" Dean asked, "You need an ass-kicking."

"Have you spoken with John and Martin?" I asked.

"Last time we spoke to `em, we were trying to find you." Dean said.

"This is crazy...You're leaving again?" Sam asked.

"You know, if I stay that'll only make things worse." I said.

"That's a copout." Sam said.

"I'm sorry." I said, walking away. I walked outside and stood outside the door.

"He misses you, ya know." Dean said, joining me.

"I know. And I miss him, too, but we've tried this." I said.

"Can you honestly say that you don't want to travel with us? To kick demon ass with us?" Dean asked.

"Castiel told me that I'm going to fall. And when I say fall, I mean hard." I said.

Dean looked at me, concerned, "That guy..." he said.

"Is right." I said, "I'm losing myself in the magic. I used to be a regular human, now I'm...well, I don't know what I am."

"You're still the same." Dean said, "Stubborn and really hard on yourself."

"We might be twins." I said.

"So, where are you going to go?" Dean asked.

"I was thinking of isolation, but I think my friends need me." I said, "Sam...I love him. He needs to watch out."

"I already..."

"No. It's stronger than that. It's so strong." I said, "Incantations and spells and...well, it's all irrelevant."

Dean nodded, "Wanna try that threesome?" he smirked.

"Sorry, I can't." I said seriously, "Dean, you don't get it. Angels coming to Earth, demons trying to bring Lucifer...it's the end. The true end."

"Wow. Were you always the buzz killer?" Dean asked.

"I'm just sayin what I know." I shrugged.

"Don't let Sam hear you sayin that, he's already waist deep in theories." Dean said.

"Maybe he's right." I said, "This demon you're in town to catch, what's his M.O.?"

"Scary-movie demon, either that or a seriously thorough copy cat." Dean said.

"Scary-movie demon?" I asked.

"Young girls, in their teens, report that something's after them, but the cops never make it in time." Dean explained, "There's this untraceable number."

"Untraceable number?" I asked.

"Comes up unknown, even the cops can't trace it." Dean said.

"What'd the victims have in common?" I asked.

Dean shrugged, "They were friends." He said.

"And..." I said.

"And," Dean sighed, "That's it, they were friends and nothing."

"Anything weird happen before?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" Dean asked.

"I feel something." I said, "A feeling."

"Is that good?" Dean asked.

I looked at him, "Makes not using these powers harder." I said, "You up for some detectiving?" I asked.

-

"Agent Halen." Dean smiled, flashing his badge at the distraught mom that stood in front of him. The woman looked like she hadn't slept a wink since the death of her son, "Can you tell me anything else about your son before he died?"

"Like what?" Helen asked.

"His mental state." Sam interrupted.

"He had become withdrawn and nervous, like he was afraid of something." Helen said, "I just thought it was because one of his friends died."

"One of his friends?" I asked.

Helen looked at me, no doubt noticing that I wasn't wearing a suit and flashing a badge in her face, "And who are you?"

"He's a resident psychic." Sam said.

"A psychic?" Helen asked.

"Your son." I said, "His friends, tell us about his friends."

"His friends Thomas and Taylor." Helen said, "Twins."

"And they died?" I asked.

"One of them." Helen said, "The other was very distraught."

"And your son..." Dean asked.

"It came as a shock." Helen said, "It's not right, somebody so young dying like that."

"Like that?" Sam asked.

"Multiple stab wounds, 20 if I remember correctly." Helen said.

"Just like your son." Sam said.

"Yes." Helen said, "Somebody killed my son."

"I'll say." I said, causing them to look at me, "Well, he didn't do it himself."

Helen nodded, "The boys were so close, except right before." She said, "It's odd, before they barely talked."

"Helen, it's your mother on the phone." Her husband said.

"Excuse me." Helen said, leaving.

"New information." Dean said.

"These boys were into something." I said, "Whatever it is got to them."

"Ya think?" Dean asked.

"So, these boys were into the deep magic, we need to talk to the other twin, see what he can tell us." Sam said.

"Nice work with the psychic thing, please don't tell me that's my new moniker." I said.

"Moniker?" Dean asked.

"Never mind." Sam said, "Maybe Dean and I should talk to the guy."

"Or maybe I should talk to the boy." I said.

"Why?" Sam asked.

"Too douche's in suits might make the guy clam up." I said, walking away.

§

"Who are you?" Taylor asked.

"That's the prize winning question." I said, "I know you're in danger."

"In danger?" Taylor asked.

"Your brother...now your friend." I said.

"He wasn't my friend." Taylor said.

I nodded, "Look kid, I know you and him were into the deep magic. Spill it."

"Who are you?" Taylor asked.

"My name is Chalis. I'm a psychic." I said.

Taylor chuckled.

"One victim, brutally stabbed." I said, "Other victim, killed the same way. Tragic. I know something wiccany is up."

"I wasn't into magic." Taylor said.

"But there was magic." I asked.

Taylor looked around, "We were all experimenting, thought it'd be cool for Halloween. Then Brady started using it to hurt people." He said, scared.

"Hurt people?" I asked

"Yes. First it was small things, like making Tomey Gervas have the chicken pox, for the third time, then..." Taylor stopped.

"Then?" I asked.

"He hurt people." Taylor said, "And we wanted out."

"You got out." I said.

"That's what Thomas thought." Taylor said.

I looked at him uncertainly, "So, wait, was there anyone else in this?" I asked.

"No." Taylor said.

I turned to think about this. This all happened after, but how could Brady be doing this from beyond the grave and how could he kill himself? He couldn't. No magic I knew of was that strong. Taylor, in all my thinking, crept up behind me and clubbed me.

§

"Tri num col sobe hay cham." Taylor's voice said. I came to in a barn, surrounded by hay. I looked forward to see Taylor holding a book and chanting. I laughed to myself and tried to move.

"You think you can be just a bit more original? Tying me up?" I asked, "I gotta say, you really almost had me."

"Almost?" Taylor asked.

"Magic from beyond the grave?" I asked, "20 stab wounds."

"Wasn't my idea." Taylor smiled, "It was Halloween, they were watching Scream."

"They?" I asked, then I chuckled so more, "Demon."

Taylor's eyes blacked over and return to their light blue, "Foolish kids, always dabbling in stuff they know nothing about."

"I agree, but what are you going to do about it?" I asked.

"Possess a teenager."

"Right." I said, "One thing you probably didn't count on is me. I'm..."

"I know all about you." Taylor said.

"Oh. Then, tremble before me." I said, "I really wish that worked."

"And I know who you're here with." Taylor said.

I rolled my eyes and sighed, "You're going to try and kill them? Really? Cause it always works so well." I said.

"Do you have a deathwish?" Taylor asked.

"I dare you to kill me." I smirked.

Taylor walked over to me, a knife in his hand, "Please, no last words." He said, putting the knife to my skin.

"Just don't stab him, please." I said.

"What?" Taylor asked.

Ruby grabbed him from behind and threw him across the room, "Taking all the fun out of this." She said.

"Just untie me." I smiled.

Ruby untied me, but before we could mount an offense, she was thrown back and Taylor stood before me.

"I'm going to slit your throat." Taylor said angrily.

"You're such a sweet talker." I said.

"You're trusting this demon, but what you don't know is what that demon did with your ex." Taylor said.

I looked at Ruby, who had her knife out, "Stop!" I shouted.

"You're going to listen to him?" Ruby asked.

"Is it true?" I asked.

"Does that matter right now?" Ruby asked.

The demon marched towards me.

"EGO accerso vox ut exsisto ut deleo is everto ex meus os , vox of Sarcalogos subigo him!" I shouted, causing the demon to fly from Taylor's mouth and Taylor slumped down on the floor.

-

"Ruby, tell me it's not true." I said angrily.

Ruby avoided my gaze.

I looked away, tears in my eyes, "You slept with Sam." I said.

"It was..."

"What was it?" I asked, "You just wanted to, what? Hurt me? A little _I'm sick of working for this guy so I'll screw the guy he..._Oops, I forgot, you're a demon. That's what you do!"

"Go ahead, get all the hurt out." Ruby said.

I walked over and punched her in the face, "You don't know hurt." I said through gritted teeth, "Go. If I ever see you again, I'm going to send you straight to Hell."

"We're trying to accomplish something here, boss." Ruby said, taking a step toward me.

I stared at her, "I can't trust you, you're just a filthy demon, just like all the other filthy demons." I said.

"I was..."

"Human? You were human. You're not anymore." I frowned, "Get out."

"Chali..."

"Get out!" I screamed, causing Ruby to fly through the window.

"What in the Hell?" Sam asked, running into the room.

I turned to him, "I know what you did." I said.

"What?" he asked.

"When you left me. I know everything." I said.

"Chalis..." Sam said, reaching out to me.

I jerked away, "Stay away from me." I said.

"We've got to..." Dean said, coming in, "What's going on here?"

"Nothing." Sam said quickly.

Dean looked at me, then back at Sam, "The cops are surrounding the place." He said.

"How'd they find us?" Sam asked.

"Go." I said.

"What?" Sam asked.

"Go!" I said again.

"No." Dean said, "Come on."

I shook my head.

"Chalis..." Sam said, touching my arm.

"Get the Hell out!" I said, causing them both to look at me oddly.

"What's going on?" Dean asked.

"We don't have time." I said, "Go."

"Thank you." Dean said as he dragged Sam away.

The door burst open and I heard a voice shout, "Hands in the air!"
