Gay

I haven't had any negative response to Suburbia 1... or positive. Infact, I haven't got any. I'm posting this second chapter hoping that maybe SOMEONE might see it and think, 'hmm. This could be good!' and then read it, and let me know if I should continue or not.

Disclaimer - This story is filled with sin and fornication. Oh, my! If you're religion does not allow you to read such literature, don't read this. You probably wouldn't like it anyway. If homosexual themes offend you, don't read this, but you may want to just get out of this part of Nifty. I don't know N Sync, (although I wish I did) and I don't know if they're gay or not. Fiction, people. F-I-C-T-I-O-N. I made it up.

This is an AU - Alternative Universe fic

WARNING: It's an angsty piece and will have, if not in this chapter, then in others, physical and mental abuse.I know that is a hard subject to read about for some of you, (ie. I can't read stories about hospital/cancer angst because it touches too close to home) so, if you are bothered by that, please don't read this. Pairing: Lance/haha, I don't like to reveal that.

Chapter 2

"Hey, Ma!" He called as he entered the Bass family mobile home. It seemed as if the moment he shut the door was the moment the rain started to pouring. The rain made echoing popping noises on the cheap metal roof.

"Lance, go to your room! Tonight's your fathers poker game, and yer gonna stay outta the way this time."

"Okay, I will." He grabbed a cup from the rack, filled it with water, and then hurried to his room. Laying on his bed, he looked around at all the different things in his room, trying to locate amusement for the rest of the evening.

His mattress on the floor was surrounded by scholarship application papers. He really did want to go to college, but he wasn't sure if he'd be able to. They had very little money to spend on things as frivolous as college.

There was a poster on his wall listing the game schedule for district football. The team for West Lake High was hardly anything to brag about, but they were vicious when on the field. Lance wasn't on the team, but Joey was. Franklin Academy was far the best in the league. They had strong, tough boys to play that were driven by the goal of succeeding.

Lance could almost remember the first game he ever saw West Lake play against Franklin. Franklin boys were all over the ground writhing in pain, and West Lake boys were constantly being pulled aside by the referees for illegal moves. Tackling, and beating a an opponent just because he might get the ball is no reason to attack. In the end, Franklin won because so many West Lake guys were taken out of the game.

The next game the two teams would play against each other were the next day, actually. Lance hadn't intended on going, but he kind of wanted to see if the battle between the two teams would be just as exciting as the last battle they had. A.J's party was after the game, and all the football players would probably go as usual. Not that there would be some victory to celebrate, but hey. Everyone loves a football player.

Rain was coming down harder on the room, and occasional shouts were coming from the living room. Due to extreme boredom, Lance decided to call it an early night, and go to sleep.

"KILL EM!" Chris screamed, throwing his whole body out of his seat to jump around psychotically. "KILL EM! KILL EM! KILL EM!" "Dude, chill." Lance reached up and yanked the small man back down. "Sorry, I just get pissed when I see those Franklin fucks trying to score. We'll get em! WE'LL TAKE HIM DOWN!" And he was back on his feet screaming. "I'M GONNA GO GET A COKE!" Lance screamed into his ears, and then headed down the bleachers. He headed to the concession stand with his head down to avoid seeing the more popular students give him disgusted glares. Lance and his friends weren't exactly high class society, and on the high school food chain, they were bottom feeders, and prey to those who were hungry. But, there is something to be said for the bottom feeders knowing self-defense. There was no one at the counter when he got there, so he was free to order. A pretty blonde girl came up to take his order. "Hi, cutie! How can I help you today?" "Um, Coke, please? Large?" "Alright." She went and fixed up the drink, meanwhile obviously sashaying her butt for attention. "Here ya go. Free of charge, cuz I like you." Lance started to walk away. "No, stay, please? Just for a lil while? It's kind of lonely here, runnin this thing all by mahself." "I understand. Sure, I'll stay." "Cool. So, what school you with?" "West Lake. How about you?" "Franklin Academy. I just hate my school, but I've met some nice girls from it. Oh, uh, Christina. Christina Aguilara. But you can call me Chrissy if ya want to." She reached out to shake his hand. "Lance Bass." "Lance, well, isn't that just the sweetest name?" Lance laughed nervously. He hated it when girls flirted with him. And this one had to be a bit ditzier than most others. "Hey, you got plans later?" His mind ran through the details of the night. Food. Game. Party. But it was A.J's party... "No, I'm not busy, why?" "Wanna come to a party with me? I could use a date to it, and you're just mah type, hon." "Well..." "You'd have so much fun, and no one'd hate ya because you go ta West Lake, I swear!" "Okay, I guess." "Cool! The game should be over in about 10 minutes, and then I'm gonna head on over. Wanna just stay with me?" "Yeah, sure, but let me go tell my friend first." "Alright, cutie!" Lance raced up the bleachers to notify his friend. "Chris, I have to go." "Where?" "I was invited to this party by this one girl. I think I'm gonna go." "What about A.J's? I got you all hooked up with that Mandy chick! She's EASY, dude, she's all yours!" "I know, but I'd rather go to this party. Come by tomorrow?" "Fine. Have a good time, man! Don't dog too many chicks, and don't fuck the ugly!" "I won't!" Lance replied with a laugh. He ran back to the concession stand to meet up with Christina. She locked up the cash box, put the last box of candy bars away, and then waved him over. "I get to go early! C'mon!" "Cool." He followed her to a shiny black Mercedes. This girl did not seem that rich... "It's daddies! He lent it to me for the party and stuff. He said he wants his little girl to be the stylish girl." "Does your dad live in the area?" "No, of course not! He lives in New York! Momma and him divorced long ago, but he comes down to see me, his 'princess!'" "Well, that's cool." They both slid into the cool, black leather seats. Christina blabbed on and on the entire way to the party about makeup, ex-boyfriends, and her best friend, evidentially in the entire world, Britney. "This is the place!" She grabbed his arm, and dragged him to the door. The house was beyond fancy. Christina went ahead and opened the door without knocking or ringing the doorbell. The music was loud and pumping even though there weren't many people. "The others are coming later,' she explained. "These are all the non-cheerleading, and non-sports people. The others should be here very soon, though." "Hey." A group of people chorused as he walked in. "Why, Christina! You never told me you wus bringing no date, did you?" A prissy-looking blonde asked, coming right up to Lance and rubbing his shoulder. "Strong boy, huh?" "Hand's off, Jessica! Your own mans gonna be here any minute." "Shut your mouth, bitch. You know we're over." "Whatever, slut!" "Don't fight, okay, girls?" A new voice came into the room. A beautiful blonde girl with an extremely sexy curly haired man on her arm. "Oh, hi, Britney!" Christina shrieked, and ran and gave her a hug. "GREAT lift, I saw out there!" "From the concession stand?" "Yeah. Stupid pep club." Britney laughed, and gave Christina another hug. "We WON!" She yelled. The whole room erupted in applause, cheers, and whoops for joy as the rest of the cheerleaders and football players entered the house. 'Wait a second...' Lance though to himself, 'we didn't win..." Then it hit him. He was at a Franklin Academy party. The upper-middle class types. This realization made the party a whole new ballgame. "Britney, this is Lance. Lance, this is Britney and her boyfriend, Justin!" Christina said in her sweetest voice. "Nice to meet ya, Lance!" Britney gave him a big smile, and shook his hand. Justin did the same, but was too busy having an animated conversation about sports with the guy standing next to him to actually recognize that he was being introduced. "Justin!" Britney screeched, and elbowed him in the side. "Be polite, and meet Lance." "Oh, hey, man! Um, this is my bud, JC." Justin shook Lance's hand again, and then pointed to the tall, thin, brown haired man he had been previously conversing with. JC turned to look at Lance. "Pleasure to meet you, Lance. What school do you go to? I don't believe I've seen you around the Franklin campus." "Um, West Lake." "Oh." His demeanor turned a little snotty after that. "Well.. We really killed your team tonight. I don't even know why you guys bother playing us because just kick your fucking-" "That's enough, JC, thanks!" Christina said angrily, and pulled Lance away. The went to one of the family rooms and sat on the couch. "I'm so sorry about him.." Christina reached forward and ran her hand over Lance's chest. "He's just an asshole. That's nothin like what you are." She put her hand on his cheek and pulled him in for a kiss. It was a very awkward kiss for Lance, but Christina didn't seem to notice. "Is there a problem with me?" She asked, pulling away. So maybe she did notice. "Nothing. I'm fine. Really." "You-" She looked him over. "I've been watchin you all night and you've been actin funny. You're...You're-!" Lance reached up quickly to cover her mouth. He so did not want this coming out right now. "I'm gay. I know. But please don't tell anyone!" He whispered hastily into her ear. "Oh! This is so cool! I've never known any gay people!" "Stop saying that out loud!" "Oh. Sorry.. Wow! I so hafta be your new best friend! Who all knows?" "Me... And this guy I've been with." "Romance?" "Not really." "Just sex?" "Yes, fine. Just sex. But he cares, he does." "That's so cool!" She shrieked. "Keep it down!" He hissed. "Sorry." They both sat very still on the couch for a minute or so. 'Return of the Mack' was blasting through the stereo system in the other room. "Wanna dance?" "Why?" "I dunno. Nothin better to do now that I know your gay." "I suppose." He helped her off the couch and into the main room that everyone was dancing in. Wrapped his arm around her back, he began to grind his body against hers so that they would look like everyone else. The whole crowd of dancers seems to move the same way with the best. It was like a sea of people humping people, basically. They eventually got totally into it, until Christina started cracking up at the hilarity of the situation. Britney and Justin weren't too far away from them acting just as dirty, except they probably meant it. JC and some chick were dancing near them as well, but JC wasn't even paying attention to his partner. He was just staring at Lance. "What's JC's problem?" He asked Christina. "He's probably got a stick up his ass. That boy is a complete jerk." "He's just... staring at me! I hate it! You know, where I live at, even someone does that, then it means they're challenging you to a fight." "Don't fight him, Lance. He'll get all his friends to kick your ass." "I've got friends too, and my friends are scrappers." "Oh god, Lance, just don't even start, okay?" "Alright. I wouldn't really start a fight anyway." "I know you wouldn't." "I think I'm just going to go home." He pulled away from their embrace. "How come?" She looked genuinely worried. "I don't feel very welcome here. Besides, I have another party to attend." "Really? Can I come?" "Um..." He thought about AJ's usual parties. Sex, drugs, alcohol... And Christina seemed so innocent. "It's going to be a little more wild than your used to." "Don't worry about me! I'm a big girl, I know how to take care of myself. So, we go?" "We go." "Cool! Let me go say 'bye' to Brit." She ran off in Justin and Britney's direction." It seemed like the minute she left his side, JC was there. "Are you leaving?" "Yes." JC hovered over him, making him extremely paranoid. "Is our little party too much for you?" "No. I just have another one to attend." "Really?" "Yes." "Really?" Lance could smell the alcohol on his breath. "Yes, really. Now if you don't mind, Christina and I will be going." At that moment, Christina came bounding back to Lance. "I've got my eye on you, fucker..." He glared at him, and then stalked off. "What was THAT all about?" Christina asked as Lance opened the door for her to climb in the car. She was letting him drive it because he knew where the party was.
