Soulmates - Chapter 7 - The Big Day

The two weeks flew by. The first week was rough, as Janet felt overwhelmed. Once Julie arrived, she was a 'Godsend' as Janet it put it. Now she stood in the makeshift waiting room in the back of the club. Pav and Lana did a fantastic job transforming the club into a chapel. Janet's first wedding didn't seem as elaborate. Of course John wasn't her true soulmate either.

Janet was pacing the floor in the waiting room eagerly nervous. If it wasn't for Julie keeping her in check she felt like she would have fainted.

"Julie, I am so nervous, I can't stop shaking," Janet said as she held her hands out "Are you sure I am making the right decision here? I am silly rushing into this?"

"Honey, relax. Donise is a wonderful woman. I wasn't so sure this was a good idea when you first told me, I mean, you two just met. But once I saw her and the two of you together, I knew that I was seeing two people made for each other. I think you are just nervous about thinking about the ceremony. I promise you, once this starts your nervousness will be replaced with pure happiness," Julie told her.

"You are right, as usual. I do love her so much. My life would be lost and meaningless now without her," Janet agreed. With that, Janet calmed down a little.

A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. It was Pav.

"Everyone decent in here?" he asked as he cautiously opened the door. When he sensed the nervous tension he added with a wink "Darn it, my timing was never good, I knew I should have come back earlier."

Janet playfully threw a tissue box at him, which he easily ducked.

He then added with a serious tone "Lana wanted me to tell you we will be starting in 5 minutes. As we rehearsed, Shelly will escort Donise down first. Once she is in position, we will give you the cue to have Julie escort you down. I will come back and get you in a couple of minutes when we are ready."

"Thank you Pav, you really are a sweetheart under that male exterior" Janet quipped. She gave him a quick hug before he exited the door.

Julie added, "Hon, you do look lovely, I hope I look half as great as you look now".

Janet blushed and hugged Julie "Oh Julie, you look wonderful, whomever snags you is getting a grand prize. I want to thank you for everything this week. I never would have gotten anything done without you".

Julie smiled and replied, "Listen, as I said before, for you, anything. It has been my pleasure helping you this week."

Soon enough Janet could hear the music start. She knew Shelly and Donise were making their way down the aisle. Soon would be her turn. As much as she wanted this, she couldn't stop the butterflies in her stomach.

Not long after that, a knock came at the door. It was Pav letting them know it was time. Janet turned and smiled at Julie and said, "Well, here we go."

Julie smiled back and locked her arms and said "Let's go knock em dead."

The two walked out of the room arm in arm until they got to the entrance of the hall. As is traditional, they slowly half-stepped down the aisle.

As Janet walked down, her eyes were now locked onto Donise. Her heart burst in pure happiness. Donise was the most beautiful creature she ever laid eyes on. Donise was wearing a simple white dress that came down to just above her knees. She had on 3-inch white heels with white stockings. She also wore a white frilly hat.

Janet opted for an off the shoulder white wedding gown. She wore the traditional veil and was wearing 4-inch white heels with white stockings.

Julie and Shelly were wearing matching pink dresses with pink heels.

Once Julie reached the end of the aisle, she handed Janet off to Donise and then stepped beside her. Janet and Donise stared into each other's eyes and smiled for a while before turning to Lana who was wearing a white robe for the occasion.

Lana addressed the crowd, "Thank you to all our friends and loved ones who have joined us here today to join Donise and Janet in their commitment of marriage. I have known Donise for many years now. I have seen her through many good times as well as some very bad times. I can honestly say, I have never seen her as happy as I have when she is with Janet. Janet, you have brought out a happiness and contentment in Donise that I don't think she has ever felt. I wish you both a very long life together as well as an eternity of bliss."

She then addressed Donise and Janet "I believe you both wrote your own wedding vows. Donise, please face Janet; Janet, please face Donise. Janet, please start off by reading your vows to Donise".

Janet took Donise's hands in hers and looked her in the eyes and said, "My Darling Donise. I have never known love until the day we met. Even though I've had relationships during my life, I've always been lonely inside. Always felt like something was missing. An important part of me felt void. The moment I met you, I felt the void disappear. Even though it took me a while to realize what happened, I know you were what was always missing. You were the part of me that I have been searching for all my life. When I held you in my arms and we kissed, it was if a missing part of me was found. I feel like I have known you forever, like you have always been part of me. I love you so much honey. I promise to always love you and be there for you, no matter what happens. A pledge during marriages is always 'till death do us part'. Honey, I am unable to make that vow because I will never part from you, even after death. I pledge my soul to you and only you forever. I will never be apart from you nor will I ever betray that love. You make me whole. I now and forever pledge myself as your friend, your partner, your wife, your lover, your soulmate."

Donise smiled as Lana said "Donise, please read your vows to Janet now".

Donise smiled into Janet's eyes and said, "Janet my Darlin. You make me so happy, more so then I ever felt possible. I too felt like something was missing in life, but I finally just figured it was just me and my silliness. Then you came into my life. From the moment I saw you from my window unpacking I knew deep in my heart and soul that you were the one. I gave you my heart that day; I knew you wouldn't break it. Sweetie, I gladly accept your pledge of eternal love and give mine back to you. I promise to always be with you. Even if there ever comes a time when you might not think I am there, I promise I will be. Nothing will ever break the bonds that bind us as one. I love you so much Janet. You complete me. I also pledge myself to you forever as your friend, lover, partner, wife and soulmate."

Lana then instructed them to exchange rings and voice their commitment.

As Janet slide the ring on Donise's finger she pledged, "Donise, I Janet pledge to always be faithful and true in my love and commitment to you. No matter what the future may hold, through better or worse, in good times and in bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in heath, I will always stand by your side."

As Donise slide the ring on Janet's finger she pledged, "Janet my love, I pledge to always be there for you and with you. To always be at your side. To love you for eternity, no matter what comes our way. Through better or worse, in good times and in bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in heath, I will love you and only you".

Lana then announced "Donise, Janet, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you united in matrimony. May you live for all eternity in the commitment you voiced today. You may now kiss the bride".

At that, Donise turned and lifted Janet's veil. The two joined in a long deep loving kiss.

When they finally broke the kiss, they turned and faced their friends and family, now as a married couple. The room erupted in applause. As they were escorted outside for some wedding photos, Shelly had her workers rearrange the room for a grand banquet. A band that Donise knew from doing work for them volunteered to act as the band for the evening and setup as well.

After dinner, the two danced their first slow dance as a married couple to Eternal Flame sung by a friend of Donise. She then surprised Janet with a song she wrote for her (ahhh, so that was her secret Janet thought). Janet gave Donise a locket she had made for her that showed music notes flowing out of two arms forming a heart. 'Donise' was engraved on one arm and 'Janet' on the other. On the back was engraved 'To my loving soulmate for all eternity'.

When it came time to throw the bouquet and garter, Shelly caught the garter, while Julie caught the bouquet. Shelly milked putting the garter on Julie to the catcalls from the crowd.

After several hours of partying, Donise and Janet decided it was time for them to leave on their honeymoon and bid goodbye and thanks to everyone. As they walked out arm in arm, Donise pointed out Shelly and Julie sharing a slow dance and smiled.

"Everyone has a soulmate" Janet replied back and gave her new wife and soulmate a deep loving hug and kiss. "Now let's go consummate this marriage my love".

"Mmmmmmm, I am with you Darlin" Donise replied.

The two then hugged and kissed deeply before rushing off home.
