Hephin walked into the living room.

"We are having our first pack meeting."

His family and friends cheered.

"I will leave you, then," Tom said.

Getting a second mate was unprecedented, and all he had to do was give both of them what they wanted. He knew with pack Vin-Ta, the wolf had needs and desires of its own. "A couple of weeks should be enough."

Dag nodded.

"Decide what role you want me to have. I assume you want me to make decisions about security."

Dag smiled and nodded.

"One thing I should have mentioned, is that we will be spending most of our time over here, even after we move. Dad and Alephin are here and their kids, and all our friends."

"I can understand that. If I am working from your pack house, you can come and go as you like, of course. I will see you in the evening."

"I figured you must be retired!"

Dag laughed.

"You'd think so, but after Tara died, working helped make the time pass. I will be working much less in the future, now that I have something else to do, but the transition will take time. It was something I already planned to do, once I had a child."

Hephin nodded.

"You are so beautiful, Hephin."

Hephin blushed.

"I bet your mate and your pack wonder what is going on."

"I'm sure."

They left the room and walked back to the living room.

"Is everything all right?" Elepan asked.

"Everything is wonderful."

"I agree!" Dag said. "Hephin cleaned himself out and allowed me to breed him. Maybe Hephin and I will have a pup soon. If not, we will keep trying."

Hephin looked at Alephin, who was frowning. Hephin mentally shrugged. He was comfortable with what happened. Then he wondered why Alephin was frowning and got uncomfortable. He sighed.

Dag got dressed.

"I will be in touch very soon. Hephin, do you want your gift?"

"Yes, but you wrapped him up again."

Dag left the room and the house, laughing.

Hephin sat on Elepan's lap.

"What happened?" Elepan asked.

"Dag wants to share his life with us. He is trying to decide whether he will move here, or just visit all the time."

"We talked about him joining my pack. I told him my concerns about him overwhelming us. He didn't think it would be a problem for him. He wants to be able to give his opinion, but he understands that I might now agree with him. He would respect my decisions about the pack. I got the impression that if he moves, he will work during the day on his business while we are over here."

"That sounds like it might work," Dregor said.

"No decisions were made. We need to talk more about it before I decide. Whether he joins, or not, he-well, he told me he loves me."

"And he's the second richest man?"

"Yup! I think you are now the richest pack in the world, even if he doesn't join."

"Will we get salaries?" Will asked.

"I really need a car," Max said.

"I've been thinking about that," Hephin said. "We are a family, so you are all entitled to a share, but I don't know yet what to do."

"You don't have any money yet, so you don't need to worry about it right now," Alephin told him.

"Alephin, when you have time, I need to learn a lot about how to run a pack. I need to learn about property, and taxes, and-everything! Dag wondered how joining the pack would affect his business and assets. I have no idea how that works."

"Hephin, all you need at first, is a bank account, some money in it, and to learn how to write checks. As far as how joining your pack affects him, that's up to you. You can charge a fee or even make him responsible for paying your bills. It's all up to you. You aren't greedy, so I'm sure that won't be a problem. He probably wants to give you more money than you would feel comfortable requesting. It will work out fine. And back to running your pack. You can do it yourself, but I doubt you would be happy doing it. Why not have Dag's people do everything, if you trust him enough? It sounds like you do. You would make the decisions, but they would do the work. He loves you, which doesn't surprise me a bit. It's your wolf's specialty. He isn't going to try to cheat the person he loves, who is also trying to give him a child. I am certain you have his undying loyalty."

Hephin sighed. He felt overwhelmed. He was making decisions for many people and it scared him.

"Dregor? How do you feel about what has happened today?" Hephin asked him.

"I love you, Hephin. I think you are wonderful, and handled everything surprisingly well. I say surprising, since you are so new at this."

Hephin looked around and saw Will and Max nodding. He looked at Les, who grinned at him and rubbed his belly. Hephin laughed.
