Son of a Wolf
-Learning the Truth-
"Where did he go?!"
What did I do to deserve this?
Hi. My name is Alexander Zolaris. Most people just call me Alex. For now, I go to Fiskly High School; I transferred over with my mom four months ago from Hawaii. I'm 5'8, 16 years old, I have a slender build, shoulder length black hair, light caramel complexion, and blue-green eyes [courtesy of a white mother and, I'm guessing, a black father]. (my mom never talks about him)
My day started like normal. I woke up, went to school (never an exciting thing to do), go to dance practice, and come back home. Somewhere between practice and home things went horribly wrong.
I went to Prearie Dance Studio after school to sign up for the recital of Mon Teri and practice for an hour or so before heading home.
"Mr. Zolaris,"
"Mrs. Rains, please just call me Alex."
"[sigh] Alex, you are a very promising dancer, but to sign up for such an advanced recital as a newly transferred student might lead to a very disappointing outcome." she stated.
Even though she was the head dance coach at the studio, she has very little faith for her students.
Rolling my eyes, I simply said, "Regardless, I'll never know until I try."
"Well, best of luck to you at your audition. Remember, they are being held on the 17th starting at 3 p.m. Please try not to be late." she said laughing.
"I won't" I said.
After practicing for what I thought was only thirty minutes - turned out to be two and a half hours - I decided to head home for dinner. While walking I felt as though someone was following me. Being that this was New York, I paid it no mind and went on about my business. After five minutes I looked back to see three men in suits following me. Seeing them, I took off running as fast as I could. I decided to head down an alleyway and hide behind a dumpster.
"Where did he go?!" one of them said.
What did I do to deserve this?!
As I sat there contemplating this, one of the other men started sniffing the air like... like, a dog.
"Damn it! I can't smell anything in this fucking rain!"
"He he. Don't worry about it."
"What?!" yelled Rick. "Spence, you know what the boss said."
"Rick, calm down. Christoff is at the boy's house as we speak, or should be anyway."
"Both of you are wasting time. We can go there now. Let's just head back to the car. And Tim,"
"Sir?"
"Never call the boss by his name in my presence ever again. Now let's go."
'My house? Who is Christoff? And why is he at my house? What the hell is going on?!' As these thoughts ran through my head I started towards my home, wondering what parallel universe I woke up in this morning.
After running endlessly, I arrived back at my home, out of breath and soaking wet. I walked up to the door and went in expecting to see chaos and disaster but saw a scene quite to the contrary. My mom was sitting in the living room talking to a man who I've never seen before. As I looked around the room I noticed the same three men that were chasing me.
"Mom! Run. Those men are dangerous. They've chased after me and tried to kill me."
"Absurd! We would..." Rick began, but the stranger just raised his hand for silence and Rick just closed his mouth and looked at the floor in submission. My mother just sat there not moving or anything. Finally, she looked at me with a sad look and said
"Son, I want you to know that I love you and would never intentionally hurt you."
"What are you talking about?" I asked her, "you're starting to scare me."
"Son, baby, I want you to meet Christoff. He's your father."
I stared at her for a moment in utter shock.
"My father? My father, according to you, is long since dead and gone!" I screamed at her after the shock wore off.
"Alex, I didn't know what else to tell you. It's not something I wanted to talk about, nor did I want you to resent your father for any reason." she said, wiping the tears running down her face off with her hand.
I finally decided to look at the man she called my father. Looking at him I saw where I got my complexion and hair color. His eyes were a strikingly beautiful green though. And his body. I've only seen men his size in body building magazines. He had so many muscles it was a wonder the fabric of his shirt wasn't tearing into shreds whenever he took a breath. When he stood up I saw that he had to be at least 6'7 in height.
"Alexander, my name is Christoff Rolmanov. As your mother said, I am your father. And as such, I have come to get you so that you might come and take your rightful place in my... your family." he said in a deep baritone with a thick Russian accent.
"I... but.... what are you talking about?" I asked him.
"I'll explain everything to you later on the way to my estate. For now Tim will follow you to your room to assist you with packing what you will want to take with you."
"Excuse me! You barely know me, and yet you come here and expect me to do as you say?!" At this point I was fuming and furious.
"Alex! Do as he says. I'll be up to talk with you after we finish discussing things here." my mother scolded.
"I don't need him following me to my room like a pet." I said to Christoff pointing at Tim.
My mother and he completely ignored my comment and continued to talk. As I walked up the stairs to my room with Tim following like an obedient puppy, I felt my life changing before my eyes. Be it good or bad, only time would tell.
To be continued....
