12 - Three intriguing letters.
After the quick introduction of the others, the two boys picked a spot to put all their clothes. They had barely started to undress when suddenly they heard someone come splashing out of the lake to join them.
"Whoah! A C.R.Y. unit!", Rei said. "WOW! Cool!" She looked at Brian with big, envious eyes. "Is it yours?"
Brian grinned back. "His name's Simon, Rei", he told her firmly. "And yes, he is mine, I guess." He took Simon's hand and squeezed it reassuringly, and the small robot smiled slightly, almost shyly and squeezed back.
Rei turned to the synthetic boy. "Hi Simon! I'm Rei Ishikawa, pleased to meet you!" Simon almost presented his left hand to Rei to shake because Brian was holding his right, but then the two boys let go (and Rei giggled), and then all of a sudden there were four more kids surrounding them, buzzing amongst themselves, all of them falling over themselves to say hello to Simon, and even wanting to touch him. Brian felt a bit like it was the first day after christmas was over and all the kids were admiring each other's presents.
"How did you know he's a robot?", Brian asked Rei once the initial flood of words and questions had subsided.
She smiled. "His clothes, of course. They all come in those blue clothes." She paused, studying Brian for a few moments just to see if her words sparked any recognition in the boy. They didn't, maybe Brian just hadn't met any C.R.Y. units before she thought. "I saw one at Terry Farnham's house, but he got a girl instead." Terry was a bit older than the rest of them, around fifteen, Brian seemed to remember.
"Wonder what THEY are doing together at night?!", Mehdi quipped. He didn't usually say such things and his exclamation was therefore met with instant laughter from all around.
Rei looked at the proud owner. "Ooh, I'm SO jealous of you, Brian!", she said and for an instant seemed to want to hug him it seemed to the young boy, then she gathered herself again. "But seriously. I'm not sure you should bring him to school. Steve, you know..."
"Yeah, Steve. Didn't think of him... He's a robot-hater you know", Cecil added in Brian's direction.
Mehdi cut in. "And so's his father. I think he's NUTS by the way." The boy giggled despite the serious subject.
"Why do you say that?", Melanie asked.
Mehdi frowned at the freckled girl. "Well, don't YOU think it's nuts to start screaming and kicking at just about every robot you meet, huh? Even if it's right in the middle of a street?"
"He actually DOES that? I didn't know!"
Mehdi sighed. "Yeah, he does that. He's even stood in front of lorries shouting at them to run him over and stuff... He's ready for the nuthouse, that's for sure. Definitely ready for the nuthouse." He sighed. "I don't understand how he's allowed to keep his kid, being a single parent and all."
Then it was Melanie's turn to sigh. "Poor Steve, no wonder he's such an arse with that kind of father!" Then it seemed she thought the conversation had taken a much too serious a turn. "What does 'C.R.Y.' stand for anyway?", Melanie suddenly wondered.
"Oh, I bet it's something like, 'Cybernetic Robotic Youth'!", Bobby said in a lofty voice like he of course knew everything. He liked to kid around, and he was a master at tricking people too, he could often fool even grown-ups into believing the most rediculous of things.
Mehdi giggled. "That's a good one Bobby! Though both 'cybernetic' AND 'robotic'? Isn't that kinda redundant?"
"You shut up!", Bobby responded and started chasing Mehdi around. "Like YOU could do any better!"
Rei put her hands at her sides. "You imbeciles!", she almost yelled at the rest of the group. "It doesn't stand for ANYTHING. It's just a model code, right, Simon?"
"That is correct", the small robot responded with a nod.
"There, you see!", she said triumphantly. "Fools, all of you. Except me and Mel that is. And Brian of course." She gave the boy a quick look and an even quicker grin, neither of which any of the others noticed.
Dissention broke out in the ranks of the small group as they all accused each other of all sorts of silly things before they managed to get back in something that at least resembled order. They touched and prodded Simon (who stayed dutifully at Brian's side all the time, exchanging small looks and smiles with him), and they all agreed that he really did look remarkably boy-like.
13 - Adventures in the water.
They had SO many questions which needed answering, but finally the two newcomers managed to get naked too and then all of the kids retreated back to the lake. Simon held on to Brian's hand with a firm but gentle grip, he didn't want his new master to feel as if the other kids were hogging him or anything. Cecil was almost hanging on Brian, one of his arms over the other boy's shoulders and babbling away about all the stuff he'd been up to recently. He liked to try to make Brian interested in what he was doing, but Brian had so far let himself be elusive. Not for any real reason, he had no reason to NOT like Cecil. In fact, he was a very likeable kid, thoughtful and kind. It was just Brian's somewhat peculiar personality that made him behave that way. Like he felt he HAD to be lonely for some weird reason. Like he was meant to, despite that others welcomed his presence, and actually even desired it in some cases.
Then their feet reached the water's edge and Cecil's hold on Brian increased in strength. He was a pretty well-grown young boy (and his dick was actually almost as big as Simon's and was starting to be adorned with a few lone pubes too Brian had noted with some interest), and when he pulled Brian along there wasn't much the other could do but to follow!
"Brrr!", Brian said. "This water's COLD!"
"You wiener, it's only temporary!", Cecil responded. "Come on now, be a man!"
With those words they all mustered their courage and rushed down into the lake, spraying water in every which way, and lots on each other too. It was a bit chilly initially because the lake was rather deep and the weather had been lacklustre for a while and it had been raining lots too adding more cold water to it, but it got better as they played around. Brian had it easy because he only had to touch Simon to feel true warmth, the synthetic boy literally radiated heat for his master's sake.
Going to the lake generally meant lots of horsing around, splashing water on one another and dunking each other, piggyback riding and having slow-motion tournaments etc. In years past their naked games had all been very innocent, but now they were getting older, discovering themselves and other people too. It brought a new edge altogether to the whole thing, but they'd all been naked so much around each other it wasn't anything REALLY exciting, but they all were aware of a new kind of tension between them. An accidental (or not so accidental) touch in certain places of a body that hardly sparked any kind of reaction a couple years ago now seemed to produce both fits of the giggles and badly blushing faces. But it was all good and harmless fun. Piggyback riding was still as much fun as always, maybe even more so in fact. The girls sat on Cecil and Bobby, Simon carried Brian of course and Mehdi was the odd man out for the first round. Simon bore Brian to victory, the pair virtually annihilating the competition, much to the chagrin of all the others.
Unlike other competitions, this one required the winner to yield his seat if there was an odd number of players, so Mehdi quickly took his place on top of the small robot once Brian had tumbled off backwards and into the lake. Brian was actually thankful of that, because he was terribly stiff from having his privates all pushed up against Simon's smooth, strong neck.
The new matchup with Simon and Mehdi produced equally devastating results, and the others started calling for the people to rise up against the robotic oppression! All in jest, of course.
"Sorry guys!", Rei called out and patted her boy - which happened to be Cecil - on his wet head before sliding off his shoulders. "Time for us girlies to be going. The rest of you coming also?" Cecil gave her a grin.
"Hm, I think I'm going to stay a while longer, how about the rest of you?", Bobby said. Cecil and Mehdi nodded. Brian was sitting close to Simon in the water, both holding each other's hands under the surface where nobody could see it.
Melanie shrugged. "Okay, loverboy", she said and hopped off his shoulder in a way that seemed rather elegant, especially to Bobby himself. "We'll see you guys later then? Tomorrow, maybe?"
Melanie's former steed grinned in a silly manner. "Yeah, sure Mel!", the dark-haired boy said.
"Ta-ta!", the redhead responded and waved her fingers at Bobby. Well, all the boys really, but mostly at Bobby. Or so it seemed to him anyway, and he grinned more in an equally silly, boyish manner.
With those words the two girls waded ashore and went up the beach to the piles of clothes that belonged to them. They wiped each other dry, taking their time more than they neccessarily had to it seemed to the remaining boys, and the two girls never tried to conceal themselves either, as if they did it on purpose, knowing they had four sets of boy eyes on them (and one set of robot eyes too). They got dressed slowly and then left by the small path that Brian and Simon had used when arriving. Both Rei and Melanie waved again at the boys before disappearing amongst the trees.
"Aaw geez!", Cecil muttered. "It was like they'd never leave!"
"What, were you in such a hurry to get rid of them?", Brian asked. "Why?"
Cecil giggled. "Why do you think? I couldn't get out of the water while they were still around, and I bet Bobby's got the same problem too!"
"Oh if EVER!", the other boy admitted with a giggle of his own. "I wouldn't have said this last summer, but Mel's... She's HOT, man!" He paused, looking at the others. "Did you see? I think she's starting to get breasts! Wonder if she'll begin to wear a swimsuit soon. I sure as hell hope not!"
