25 - Being together.
It was so awesome. Brian had never felt such peace and tranquility ever. Not even while being held by his mother or his father as a small child. "You're so great", he mumbled to Simon, feeling very emotional all of a sudden, emotional enough for a tear leave his left eye. It rolled a short distance down his cheek, and then spread out when it hit Simon's cheek as well.
The small group of boys stayed together for over an hour on the grass, discussing things like love, video games, bugs and their effect on the opposite sex, more love, a bit on the art of making love, and how funny in the head most of their teachers were. Brian felt a bit like a fish out of the water, he'd never had a discussion like that before! It felt a bit weird, he didn't know quite what to say or how to behave, he was a bit afraid he'd bore Cecil and Mehdi, but soon found he didn't have to worry! They patiently listened to him and giggled after hearing his opinions on crazy Mr Madsen, their English teacher. He was old, and his hair was white, rather long and completely unwieldy, every day it had a new shape. It was as if he took a shower right before going to sleep every evening and then went to bed without letting it dry! He had these dark tweed pants, and a dark tweed vest, and a dark green or dark blue shirt EVERY DAY. And sometimes a dark tweed jacket too, though usually not in the summer, it would get too warm for him. Really strict clothes, except he never had them pressed so they were all rumpled-looking and it made him look like a total kook along with his hair...
Cecil told of some pranks Bobby had pulled in school, including one involving a demonstration model of a hyperspace motivator that had been fitted with a modified tiny soap bubble maker so that when the physics teacher plugged it into the power supply, a thick stream of lather came pouring out of the thing. Mrs. Damar had become furious and marched Bobby off to the Principal's office holding the boy by his ear, yelling at him the entire way!
Bobby had later told Cecil the Principal had sat there and listened to Mrs. Damar's complaint with a stern expression the entire time, then asked the teacher to go back to her class so she could be alone with the young miscreant of a student. When the teacher had left, the Principal started laughing like crazy and told she had pulled almost the same joke on the old bat when she'd been a teacher in the city's university many years ago and the not-yet-to-be Principal a student. Mrs. Damar had never found out who it had been, and maybe it was because she got almost the same joke played on her twice she got so mad.
The Principal had been understanding with Bobby. Teachers were of course not allowed to hold students by the ear, so he got away with a slap on the wrist and a promise not to do it again. She also promised not to be quite as understanding the next time he did something like that again, but of course Bobby did... He was Bobby after all.
The kids laughed so much they got tears in their eyes, all of them thinking they were having a great time together. Brian invited Cecil and Mehdi over for lunch, and the boys agreed even before calling home on their communicators to ask permission (which they got without too much whining). Their bikes were on the other side of the grassy field, so Brian and Simon brought their bikes along to give the others company. Once they'd all 'saddled up', it became a race back home to Brian's house, a race Cecil quickly took the lead in. Mehdi had a slightly easier time to keep up than Brian initially, but it wasn't much, and he soon fell back. Simon dutifully stayed at his boyfriend's side until Brian gave him a nod to quash Cecil. The dirt-blonde was more than fifty meters ahead of the rest of them when Simon took up the chase. Cecil had relaxed his pace, satisfied with the lead he already had, but when he heard someone approaching from behind he started going faster again. It was hopeless of course, Simon blasted past him just as the two turned in on Brian's street. A passing magcar quickly swerved aside to make room for them as the kids came around the corner, making the occupant inside swear at being bounced around in his seat! The kids thought it was both pretty funny and a little scary too and hoped the owner hadn't recognized them and would call back to their parents to complain.
All the kids were giggling as they ran around the house and out onto the large back lawn and tossed themselves down in the thick, green grass. Mr. Fitzgerald got out of his lawnchair and came over to say hello. The boys gave their requests of what they liked for lunch, and the parent did his best to comply with the sometimes conflicting demands. Soon both parents started bringing food to the garden table, and boys began eating and talking with great delight, sitting in the warm sunlight under a mostly blue sky, with only an occational fluffy cloud dotting it.
Summer insects started showing interest in the juice, and soon giggles and annoyed exclamations were filling the air. Simon catched a bothersome fly inbetween his thumb and index finger and everybody was complementing him for his great skill and dexterity up until they found out he'd accidentally squashed it! Then shouts of "killer robot!" were heard, along with more giggles! Simon flicked the dead fly away and carefully wiped his fingers on a napkin, but then decided to run into the house to wash his hands just to be on the safe side. While he was gone, Cecil picked up the dead fly from off the ground and stuck it inside Simon's sandwich. That was stuff one would usually expect Bobby to do, so everybody else was so surprised they just looked on in horror and disgust, nobody trying to interfere! Simon came back and sat down amongst barely contained snorts and giggles. He looked around the table to see what it was everybody else were so amused by, he couldn't see anything so it had to be him he decided. He checked his shirt, no spots of jelly or such. Fly was zipped of course, he had no soap lather stains on his face or hands or anything like that.
He grabbed the sandwich and everybody started laughing. "WHAT?!", the boy exclaimed in a half-annoyed voice and glared back at them. He brought up the sandwich to his gaping mouth and was just about to sink his teeth into it when Brian's hands zipped out and stopped him.
"No! Don't do it!", he yelled. Simon gave him a curious look, and Brian started blushing. "Uh... The... Uh, the fly's in... In your sandwich." He had become almost as red as a tomato in his face and Cecil and Mehdi were literally shrieking with laughter. "It wasn't me!", Brian defended himself. "It was HIM!", and pointed accusingly at the blonde boy!
"Thanks, traitor!", Cecil yelled back, barely able to speak inbetween fits of laughter. "I didn't see you try to stop me!"
Simon started to giggle also. "I won't ask how and why the fly made its way into my sandwich, I have a pretty good idea already... Any more surprises you have in store for me? I noticed there was no whoopie cushion on my chair when I sat down, but maybe you saved that for later...?!" Brian felt sooo embarrassed he didn't know what to do really! Then Simon leaned over and gave him a really nice kiss on a blazingly hot cheek. Suddenly it just felt much better, Brian calmed down almost at once...
The lunch continued under much merriment, and afterwards the four kids kicked back and relaxed in the grass. It was the first time either Mehdi or Cecil had come to visit Brian, Simon felt very comfortable knowing he really WAS at home. This was HIS home, he wasn't just a guest. He lived there. Lived, with Brian... He had an arm around either his boyfriend's shoulders or his waist almost constantly, or else they'd let their hands touch, just to reaffirm that sensation of closeness. It was something they both appreciated, they knew that once Cecil and Mehdi had to go, they did not have to do the same. This was their place on Earth, their home.
The kids didn't really DO anything together. They mostly just existed, talking, laughing. None of them could really have said afterwards what they did or what they talked about, except they'd had a lot of fun together. Brian was slowly becoming acquainted with what it was like, spending time together with other kids, and couldn't understand at all why he'd chosen to stay a recluse for so much of his life! Cecil was great, and Mehdi was great too. ...And Simon, he was awesome!
26 - Hidden treasure.
Both visitors got to see Brian and Simon's room too of course, and all the models he'd amassed. They were both amazed, because they knew Brian hated art class. It seemed so weird he'd do something at home he did not want to do in school, and they both said so. Brian excused himself with that he was only following the instructions during assembly, and the painting template provided by the box cover. Cecil said that was total bullshit. Brian had added weathering along seams in the airplane fuselage, scratches and wear... all those little details that makes a real plane real. That required both talent and imagination, according to the blonde boy. Brian was still unconvinced, but grudgingly accepted the praise anyway, especially from Simon.
As it happened, they had another makeout session after finishing looking at the models. Right on the bed in fact. It just happened, they were sitting down together and suddenly kissing started all by itself. Brian got really hard REALLY quick. He simply had to push Simon down on the bed and get up on top so he could rub himself against the other boy's body despite both being fully dressed. Mehdi gave Cecil the exact same treatment, something that seemed to amuse both of the 'bottom-boys' to no end even as they gave the occational moan of pleasure. Mehdi did his best to carry out his threat of defeating Cecil in both body and spirit using his lips as a weapon but it was a tactic bound to fail. The blonde boy sucked it all up and was ready for more in no-time, and the Arabian boy was equally eager to deliver!
Brian and Simon enjoyed each other at a slower pace but no less intense an experience despite that. Simon's body was just incredible, Brian thought. He was so firm, his muscles were right under his skin. The pasty-skinned boy felt them tense and relax as the other boy moved and touched. Simon's hands were planted firmly on Brian's butt, helping to push his hips into the olive-skinned boy. Fingers held a firm hold on both buttocks, it did not take long for them to make their way inside jeans, inside underwear even to grab two handfuls of smooth boy-flesh. Brian had difficulty keeping his breathing under control, he started panting heavily, and when Simon sealed his lips against his own, he became dizzy and light-headed. What was going on inside him? What was HAPPENING...? His small, twitching dick ground right into Simon's stiff organ once, twice, and on the third push he groaned heavily as the heat amassing in his loins released in a sudden explosion. He shuddered! His whole body twitched and arched upwards, Simon still pushing down on his buttocks as the orgasm squeezed every ounce of energy out of the boy!
He felt weak, he felt totally out of breath. He felt...magnificient. "Ohhh...", he moaned. "I think I busted something on the inside..."
A snorting laugh came from the direction of Mehdi and Cecil. Simon was holding him, cradling him even. The two loving boys gazed into each other's eyes, seeing nothing but affection and devotion to the other in them... Cecil and Mehdi felt almost awe-struck just by watching it. Then they turned in towards themselves without speaking a word, they shared soft looks, trying to find out what they too felt for each other. It was not as easy for them. At the age of twelve, it seldom is. They knew they felt SOMETHING, they LIKED each other an awful lot, but exactly how much they could not say. Their staring into each other's eyes made them start to smile. Smiles became laughs, and then, after a couple more kisses all of them were content to simply rest in each other's presence.
Suddenly Cecil's communicator signalled. It was his father who was fairly upset his son was late for dinner. Brian and the two other kids tried keeping quiet while the poor boy got a stern lecture on the virtues of being in time even to seemingly trivial things like dinner with the family. Cecil responded humbly and promised to come right over to which his father said he'd better or else there would be no dinner at all for him.
"Sorry guys... Gotta go!", he said and tried to push off Mehdi from himself. The Arabian boy had been so comfortable when perched on top of the other he protested rather loudly, but he understood the seriousness of the situation and let Cecil get out from underneath him anyway without too much of a fuss.
"Can I come too?", Mehdi asked. "My parents have a late-night bridge session on sundays so I'd be home alone and all bored..." He never had to say, 'pleeease?!', Cecil was so quick to agree it made the others smile. The two couples said their goodbyes, complete with hugs and kisses, and then Brian and Simon followed Cecil and Mehdi downstairs again. They promised to see each other next day in school, and then they separated (Brian and Simon waving at the other two as long as they were still visible).
The two kids heard footsteps behind them. "Oh, good you two are downstairs now", Mrs. Fitzgerald said. "You can come help us with dinner."
Brian sighed, Simon smiled with enthusiasm. No chance of getting away either, Brian's mom saw Simon was eager to help and promptly nabbed both of them. Fortunately, she only gave them light duties (knowing Brian could be difficult and didn't want him to start whining), such as making the salad and setting the table, while she and her husband took care of the remaining cooking. Mr. Fitzgerald made Simon taste his famous Italian tomato and basil sauce, and the olive-skinned boy suggested a touch more salt would be in order. Mr. Fitzgerald agreed and added a small dash.
As they progressed through the meal, Simon was the one who got all the compliments, and the boy started beaming with pride. You could see right then he was blushing, though his skin tone hid it. Brian was also really proud (squeezing his hand and leg under the table), and after the meal the boys helped to clear the table as well. This was also mostly Simon's fault, but this time Brian didn't mind; with help it was accomplished quickly and efficiently, then they went upstairs where Brian got out a large, flat wooden box from under his bed. He unlocked it with an old-fashioned brass key he had hidden under one of his bedposts and put his hands on the lid, ready to open it up.
"This is my treasure-chest, Si...", he said. "I've never showed it to anyone before, but I want to show you."
There wasn't a whole lot of stuff in that box. Brian motioned for Simon to go ahead, so the other boy started looking at the objects, picking them up one by one, feeling them with his hands.
A long magpie wing feather. Black and white and then black again, not gray. Each change in color razor-sharp and distinct, not fading or blending into one another. Soft, yet stiff and strong. "When I was three years old, I saw a cat trying to catch a bird in our back yard. Only thing the cat got was this feather."
A crystal marble with a crack in it. A flaw running through an otherwise perfect sphere. It's smooth surface seemed completely unmarred, only the interior was affected. "I put the marble in the freezer. Then, when it was ice-cold, I dropped it in hot water. I don't know why I did it, I just wanted to see what would happen... I've seen that ice cubes crack when you drop them into a glass of soda, guess I wanted to know if glass behaved the same way. Seems it does."
A large six-sided die made out of some dark, very heavy wood. The spots made out of colorful mother of pearl. "My grandfather gave it to me. It's from Brazil. He got it as a present by a friend of his when he lived there in his youth."
A scruffy-looking teddybear. Worn and obviously very much loved. Stored amongst other treasures to be kept safe and away from harm, not to be hidden in shame. "This is the only friend I had before I met you. His name is Jeeves." A childish smile exchanged between them. 'Jeeves?!', was the unspoken question. "No. Don't ask why!", the boy said firmly, still smiling.
A black plastic frisbee with golden print across its top. It was in top condition, not a scratch on it, but so ancient in design Simon had to reference his archive memory to retrieve information about it. Modern aero-rings had much better flight characteristics. "This is an antique. My uncle - dad's brother - thought I should have it. He said I could use it to play with my friends or I could stick it in a bank box, he didn't care. I don't know where he got it, it was old even when he was a kid. He didn't know I didn't have any real friends. Teddy-bears aren't very good at throwing frisbees..."
Simon looked at all the treasures. Not worth much in pure monetary value, not even the ancient frisbee, but priceless in emotional currency.
