This is the first story I've ever written, I wrote it over the summer of last year and my writing skills have grown immensely. Although this is my first story I've wrote, I have published other stories on here and am currently working on one. Under the high school section, I have the One or the Other, which is a current project; Hayden's Story; and GAvin's Got Game. Under the college section, I have The After Party. The latter three stories all contain sexual content.

This is impossible! He's Avery! He's mean...but he's hot. He's rude...but he has the cutest laugh. He's an idiot...but his smell is so mystifying. He's just...Avery! I can't like him! No matter how many good things he has, he's still Avery! And I just can't date him or think about him like that!
For the rest of the day I did nothing actually. Layla and Blake texted me some. Tommy asked if he was able to come over. I told him my mom said only Saturday because Amy and I have a dinner to go to on Sunday and she likes to make every other Friday night a Family Night. He was happy with just Saturday. I was too. Don't think I wasn't. But it's just ever since him and I broke up...every gay guy in the school has been in my mind too. But Tommy is the only one I would be comfortable with saying the `L' word to though.
The rest of the evening, I worked on mine and Tommy's project. We had to build a tree, I was in charge of the trunk and he was in charge of the leaves. I didn't feel like taking a stencil, tracing leaves, cutting them out, and then drawing the little lines thingies.
It was around 7 before I reached my halfway point. I decided I'd do the rest tomorrow and then on Wednesday and Thursday, Tommy and I could put the leaves on the tree. When I cleaned up all the clay and other shit my mom called me down for dinner. I finished cleaning up, washed my hands, and ran down stairs to enjoy some good ole dinner.
"Why did your friend leave in such a hurry, sweetie?" My mom asked while I loaded up my plate. "His face was red and he didn't even say goodbye. He just ran by, got in his car, and drove off."
"He forgot that his mom needed him home. If you want me to I'll tell him he needs to apologize for being so rude?" I don't know why I was offering. That would mean Avery would have to come back over.
"No thank you dear. I was just worried."
"Okay mom." For the rest of dinner we talked about the dinner that was coming up this Sunday. We were going over to Mr. and Mrs. Franklin's house. They were my mom's first clients as a real estate agent and they were a newly married couple. My mom kept in contact with then and every few months we go to their place or they come over here for dinner.
The rest of the week wasn't that awesome. Considering I was trying to avoid any feelings for Jay and Avery. I wanted to be focused on Tommy. I want him. No one else. Just him.
So far, mine and Tommy's project is going along great. It's now Friday and we're putting the final additions on it. Like I said, I did finish the trunk on Tuesday. I thought it looked very ugly but when we started to put Tommy's leaves on it, it started to look a lot better.
"We're a perfect team." I said.
"Yeah, we are. All this time we've spent together has helped me too."
"Helped you with what."
"Come closer to seeing if we're just friends or boyfriends."
"And where are we right now?"
"Well it all depends on tomorrow. Right now we're at the point where it can go either way."
I groaned and then sighed. "You know how much I hate you right now?"
"A lot?"
"That doesn't even begin to describe it." I smiled at him and he smiled back. We got back to work on our project. We soon presented it to the class and got an A. Pete was absent but he left his and Tyler's project there over night. Since Tyler did none of the work, he had trouble presenting the project. It was kinda funny to see him up there talking as if he knew what he was talking about.
After school was over, I decided to stay after school and sit with the twins in the library. Ginger was tutoring, like she always was, but the twins were off today. We sat back and talked about random things going on in life.
Apparently, their mom had found a new house she was going to by after their parents split. She was tired of her son having to be scared of his father so they were getting a divorce. I was happy for them but also sad. They did care about their father. He was always there for them until Tommy came out. And Tommy has told me before he knows it's his fault they are getting a divorce.
"You know it's not your fault right?" I asked Tommy. He was looking off somewhere else while Tye and I were talking about the new house. They've only seen it once before.
"It is, Shawn. They were all perfect before I came out."
"They're splitting because of his homophobia. Not because of whom you are. I bet that even if you weren't gay and I came out to him that one time they still would be fighting. His hatred of gays would have shown sooner or later."
"He's right Tommy. Mom and Dad are splitting because of they're differences. This is a serious topic and mom can't stand closed minded people."
"I know but if I never came out everything would be perfect right now."
"If you never came out I would have never invited Shawn over. You and he would just be friends still."
"You're right Tye."
"I always am, little bro." Tye is like 5 minutes older than Tommy.
"Shut up, you're going to die first so HAH!"
"You're going to die 5 minutes after me so HAH!"
"I'm going to die if you two don't shut up so HAH!" The three of us started laughing. I love hanging with Tyler and Tommy. It makes me kinda glad that all the things that happened to get me at the mall that one day were worth it.
"Come on you guys." Ginger said. "I need to get home so I can do my own homework."
"I could do it for you, Ginger!" Tyler said.
"No! Last time I let you do that you got me an F! I thought you knew what you were doing!"
"I had no clue. I just bubbled things in." Tommy and I started laughing as Ginger scolded Tyler.
I was soon dropped off at my house. I went inside and told my mom I was home. She then told me there was someone here to see me. I asked her who it was but she only said he was up in my room. Well that ruled out Layla and Jen since she said he.
I went upstairs and stood outside my door. The door was shut and I was scared to open it. What if it was Leo? Or Cole? I put my hand on the doorknob and slowly opened the door. I was shocked to see who it was. But at the same time, I expected it and wanted it.
"Hey Shawn." Avery said. "I thought you would have been home a long time ago. I was going to leave but your mom forced me to stay here and wait." I could tell he was nervous.
"Sorry. I stayed after school with Tommy and Tyler."
"Oh ok." There was an awkward silence. Avery and I have honestly never really talked so I didn't know what to say.
"What did you come over for?"
"I wanted to tell you something."
"And that is?"
"You know how I missed out on my chance with Leo right?" I nodded my head. "Well I didn't want to miss another chance... You see I never hated you because Leo liked you. I hated you because I liked you. From the second I saw you I wanted you. But I didn't want to hurt Leo and it made me angry that you could cause me to ruin my relationship. When I found out you and Leo kissed, I freaked because I was mad at you. I wanted to be the one you kissed. And then when you told us about the rumor about you and Tommy, I was mad because you kissed Tommy. And now I'm going to come clean and get it out. I really like you Shawn. I want to be your boyfriend so bad! I don't expect you to say you like me back though." I was stunned. I just stood there. "I'm going to go now."
I could see tears in his eyes. He wasn't joking. He seriously likes me. Since I was standing in the doorway, he had to pass me to leave. But before he could leave, I grabbed him by his wrist and turned him around. He looked at me with tears in his eyes. I didn't know what to say to him so I pulled him in for a long deep passionate kiss.
When we finally separated, I barely managed to say, "Avery, I don't know what it is about you but I like you too. Despite our rivalry and everything. And with that said. I WILL be your boyfriend." We smiled at each other and I pulled him in for another kiss.
