Selfish Chapter One

(Winter -- 2001) (Author's Note: I'm sorry I have no idea when they wrote their songs or recording)

J.C. sighed and sat down on the chair in the studio trying to write one of the songs he's been working on. He reluctantly ran his slender fingers through his now long curly hair. He tapped the pen against the table waiting for someone. Dang it... where is he? he looked at his watch and rolled his head to stretch his sore neck.

"Hey... where's Jolyon and Veit?" Justin asked, sat by him.

J.C. shrugged. "I don't know... they're late for all I know,"

"Ahh... well, I better go see Wade so I write my lyrics! Bye!" Justin leapt off the chair and walked to the other room.

J.C. didn't realized that he has been holding his breath. He let out a long relief sigh and bang his head on the table hard. "Ouch, shit!" he cursed softly.

"I hope we're NOT using this word for the songs," Veit said, sat down on the chair as Jolyon sat by J.C.

"Hahaha, very funny, no I just hit my head hard," J.C. rolled his eyes.

"OK... are you alright?" Jolyon asked.

J.C. nodded. "Yea... can we just write this song and let us sing this?"

"Yes, sir... let get started," Viet said, grabbed the paper and started reading what he has wrote.

They wrote this song for 4 hours, writing, brainstorming, and trying to edit it a bit. "Well, thanks for your guys help, Brian McKnight will be playing the piano for this song, so... he'll be coming tomorrow," J.C. sighed, and got up from the seat.

"Good luck," Jolyon smiled and got up. "Nice to write with ya," he extending his hand to shake.

"You too and thanks," J.C. took his hand and shook Veit's hand as well.

"Nice to see ya again," Veit smiled and walked out of the studio. J.C. sighed, and walked up to the piano and sat down on the bench. He started moving his fingers on the piano and played for a while.

"Hey! Finish the song?" Justin hopped on the piano.

J.C. jumped a little. "Jeez... you scared me, yea... I'm done, it's good song, what about you?"

"Ahh, Wade and I just joked around, eh... we'll be serious tomorrow, I hope," Justin hopped off the piano.

J.C. shook his head. "You both better," J.C. got up from the bench and walked up to the chair where he sat previously.

"Yes... daddy, so what cha doing?" Justin asked.

"Go home and sleep," J.C. grabbed his coat and walked out of the studio.

"Sleep? Jeez you're no fun," Justin grinned.

J.C. shook his head. "Whatever, J... if you want to go to club or whatever... ask other guys," J.C. said, walking up to his jeep and got in. Or with me, He thought, fidgeting with his keys.

"Fine... you party pooper!" Justin pouted.

God, he's so cute when he pouts, J.C. chuckled. "Next time J, good night," J.C. started his engine and back his car.

"You OWE me ONE!" Justin yelled as J.C. waved it off and drove off. He stopped at the red light and he took his CD case out and picked a CD and put it in the CD player. He pressed play and sighed. He turned the volume up and looked at the light. It turned to green and continues his journey as he listens to the music.

`Oohs How can I say that I love you When you're so far away? So tell me why you had to go Was it me, I need to know Oohs What can I do to make you see That I'm here, here for you? I really hope that you'll come home So we can be together again

Oohs What can I do to make you see, girl That I'm here, here for you? I really hope that you'll come home, girl So we can be together again'

J.C. arrived to his driveway and parked his jeep. He turned the engine off and got out of his jeep as he walked up to the door. He unlocked the door and walked in as he closed the door. He threw his wallet and keys on the table near by.

He processed to the stairs as the phone rang. He walked up to the living room and picked up the coreless phone and pressed `talk'. "Hello?" J.C. asked over the phone.

"Hey Josh man! It's Tony!" Tony Lucca, ex-mouseketeer and J.C's best friend.

"Hey T! I just walked in... what's up?" J.C. walked up to the kitchen and walked up to the fridge and opened it. He grabbed the water bottle and twisted the cap off.

"Nothing much! Find any cute guy yet?" Tony asked.

J.C. sighed and rolled his eyes. "No... I'm so busy, and I don't have time to date yet," J.C. replied, and took a big gulp of fresh cold water and walked out of the kitchen.

"Yea, yea... you ALWAYS say that, come on... live up a little!"

J.C. sighed and sat down on the couch. "T... I don't have to live up little... I'm just busy and I don't have time to date,"

"Hey... did you tell Justin and your bandmates that you're gay?"

J.C. sighed. "No... not yet,"

"Josh... they love you! You know that! How long you have been in the band? 7 years now? Or 6?"

"Six years now,"

"Then... they won't kick you out or something,"

"I don't know... I mean Lance have a strong religious, and Justin... he has been my best friend for 8 years!" J.C. sighed.

"So? Hey... I'm sure Lance don't care if you're gay, and Justin... yea, he's your best friend... he won't freak out,"

"I know... I gotta go, I'm gonna take a shower and go take a nap," J.C. said.

"Yea, yea... sleepy head... haha, call me!" Tony said.

"I will... talk to ya later man, and thanks,"

"Hey, what are best friends for? Bye!" Tony said as they hung up. J.C. sighed and got up and walked upstairs to the bathroom to take a long nice hot shower.
