Chapter 46
Reese awakened with a start, momentarily wondering where he was and how he'd ended up in a strange bed. Slowly the scenes of last night surfaced in his fuzzy brain. He smiled at how prim and proper Corray had been – and how gentle. It also occurred to him that Corray's "super queen" persona had completely evaporated when their discussion had turned serious. He began to wonder about what made Corray tick. The impression he gave on first meeting seemed to belie the caring individual beneath the surface.
"Ah, it looks like Sleeping Beauty has awakened without a kiss to break the spell. Oh darn!" said Corray smiling down at him.
"I'll close my eyes and pretend I'm not awake," Reese offered.
"It just wouldn't be the same."
"Well, I'm on to you anyway," Reese smirked.
"What's that supposed to mean? I didn't rape you in your sleep, despite the temptation!"
"No, I'm talking about how you slip in and out of character. In private you're not like you are in public – not so over-the-top or whatever."
"You mean not such a Nelly queen?"
"Well, I wasn't going to put it quite that way."
"You'll have to forgive me. I suppose I do lay it on a bit thick sometimes. The older ladies at the salon love it. I don't act quite as fem when I cut the hair of the younger boys because I know it makes them uncomfortable. Josh and Eric seem to handle it okay, but they're sweethearts and wouldn't insult Satan himself."
"You're really sweet too. No one else offered to do for me what you did last night. Blake left a message about maybe getting together with Rob and him, but he didn't sound too eager and I don't blame him. I viewed Rob and some of the other boys as possible conquests. I've been such a shit. I know why I don't have any true friends."
"You couldn't expect your ex to come running, but your boyfriend is a different matter. If he loved you, he'd stick with you through this."
"Yeah, Lance was good for only one thing and when that was over there wasn't much in the way of conversation... And he might even have been the one who gave it to me. Damn it!"
"We'll discuss him over breakfast if you like, but the food won't be fit to eat if we don't get to the kitchen soon. Drain the lizard and come to the table."
In the midst of breakfast the phone rang and Corray answered it immediately.
"Oh thank you dahling," he gushed. "Tell Fran I owe her big-time. Yes, I'll have him hosed off and in the office by 10:30. Then Fran can have her way with him. He's really cute; she'll love him."
"What was that about?" Reese asked with a slight frown suspecting that he was involved.
"I got you an appointment with my personal physician. She treats a number of people in the gay community, so you can tell her anything and you MUST tell her everything. She's the best!"
"But what if my insurance won't pay?"
"Then it'll be on my account. I'm not taking `no' for an answer."
"Yes Sir Captain, Sir! I love it when you're in your take-charge mode."
"Be as much of a smarty-pants as you like, but get in the shower. There's a clean pair of boxers in the bathroom and your jeans and shirt from yesterday are fine. I've sniffed the underarms to make sure. I laid out a sample size deodorant and a razor and shaving cream to use if you want, but I really like the `scruffy look' of a day-old beard on you. That's pure sex!"
"Okay. I'll get ready, Mom," Reese teased.
"I'll `mom' you! Now get moving!" Corray laughed as he smacked Reese playfully on the butt.
"I'm kind of nervous," Reese complained. "I wish you could stay with me."
"I know, but I promised Cynda that I'd babysit her sweet little girl for a few hours today. Please call to let me know how things go."
"I will."
Fifteen minutes later, Reese was sitting on the edge of the examining table at Dr. Frances Martin's practice. She was listening intently to him as he told his reason for being there. If she had a dollar for every guy she'd seen with an STD who could NOT IMAGINE how he could POSSIBLY have contracted it, she'd be a wealthy woman. However, she was beginning to believe that he might be telling the truth. It made her think of two other patients she'd seen in the past month with similar stories.
"I'm going to give you another test. I have one that gives instant results and is over 90 percent accurate. If it also comes up positive, we'll discuss treatment options. All I need is to swab the inside of your mouth. I'll do that in a minute. First drop your pants and let me check you for any other signs of sexually transmitted diseases."
Reese blushed a bit at her forward, business-like approach. He supposed that looking at his privates was no big deal to her, but he'd always had male doctors in the past and hadn't been seen naked by a female – even a nurse - since he was about eight!
"Hmm, this looks fine. There's no sign of anything else," she said as she thoroughly examined his semi-hard penis. "Did they take a swab from inside your urethra at the health clinic?"
"Yeah, it was neg."
"Okay, I'll spare you the discomfort of repeating it then. Put your clothes back on and I'll take the sample from your mouth and be back to talk to you in 10 minutes or so."
It didn't take 10, but it was the longest seven and a half minutes Reese could remember when Dr. Martin knocked on the examining room door. Her brow was knitted and Reese feared the worst. Then she realized what her expression was conveying and she relaxed her face.
"I'm perplexed because this is the third time this month that this has happened. This test is negative."
Reese's heart seemed to stop beating, but yet he could hear a pounding in his head. A second or two later, he realized that he was lying back on the examining table.
"Did I hear you right, or did I dream it?" he asked, a bit groggily.
"You heard me correctly. This test came up negative. I'm going to administer it a second time to give us more assurance. The odd thing is that you're the third person in a short time-span who has had this happen. I'm sensing a pattern here and I'm going to call public health. The other two guys have been retested again by a different lab and have come up clean. I'm very optimistic for you too, but I don't want to give you false hope.
By the way, do you often have fainting spells? Let me check your blood pressure again."
Reese's numbers were a bit low, but came up to normal quickly. Dr. Martin figured that his blood pressure dropped under stress. It was something that she would continue to monitor if he remained as her patient.
For the second HIV test, Dr. Martin stayed in the room with Reese. She felt it might be easier on his system. Her face broke into a smile as she checked the results.
"Again, I don't want you to go out and be careless, but I'm as certain as I can be that you aren't infected and that something is terribly amiss somewhere."
Reese didn't faint this time, but did tear-up when the matronly doctor hugged him.
"Oh God, how can I ever thank you!"
"Thank God and thank Corray for dragging you in here," she smiled. "I'm just the messenger. Now, you'll have to excuse me because I have to see another patient and then I'm calling the clinic. Have a wonderful day!"
"Well I had an interesting experience at the club today?." Josh said to Eric, Rob, and Blake who were helping prepare dinner. "An attorney that my dad knows pretty well, Randall Chadick, turned and headed the other direction when I spoke to him. I've been introduced to him and seen hims numerous times."
"Maybe he didn't recognize you and thought you were just some cheeky peon," Eric joked.
"That makes it even worse! Do you suppose he treats all service people like that – like he's hot shit and the rest of us are chopped liver?"
"Just because your dad and mine are into treating everyone like equals doesn't mean that all people are. You should see my mother in action. She has nothing for disdain for those she considers beneath her." Eric responded. "I'm not surprised. Were you washing his balls at the time?"
"Okay, just because I got stuck with washing golf balls today doesn't give you the right to make it sound kinky!" Josh countered in mock consternation.
"Wait until you get to pick up the towels they drop on the locker room floor." Eric said. "Some of those jerks don't have the decency to throw them anywhere close to the hamper. They leave messes all over and then bitch because the place isn't all neat and tidy!"
"Not everyone is like that," Blake chimed in. "I've had my share of spoiled brats and snooty parents, not to mention that Fenton woman who wanted to get into my pants, but I've also met a number of fine, down-to-earth members there too. Just today, one of them offered me an internship at his company during my senior year so that I can have working experience to go along with my degree."
"Whoa! That's exciting," Rob enthused. "Does that mean you'll get some sort of salary?"
"Yeah, it means I can reduce my hours at the country club and we can have a passable income as well. The company has a scholarship fund and he's putting my name in for one."
The guys all congratulated Blake on his good fortune and agreed that there were nice people and nasty ones in almost every walk of life. Rob reminded them of the street people who had befriended him as well as the one who attempted to bash his brains out when he was living under a bridge.
"I think that old coot Jed was deranged or he wouldn't have killed Willy. Willy wouldn't hurt a fly. That reminds me of Sam. Last time I checked he had been sober since Christmas. I hope he's able to stay that way. He's a gentleman despite how he was living. I think I'll pay a visit to that soup kitchen if someone will go with me. I'd like Sam to meet Robbie, but I don't like the neighborhood without a few bodyguards for our son."
"Most of us can't get off work. Why don't you see if Garret and Luc will go with you, or maybe Dylan? He seems kind of down since he broke up with Marissa."
"Good idea!" Rob agreed.
"I think we can sit down to eat now," Blake announced. "I know we don't say grace lots of times, but I'd like to tonight. We've all been angry with Reese at one time or other, but I think we should pray for him. He's gonna need all the support he can get."
The guys all nodded soberly in agreement as they bowed their heads.
When Josh and Eric arrived at their jobs the next morning, they found that Dylan and Garret had both been hired at the club too. They had been on a waiting list, and got interviewed and accepted after a couple of other guys got fired. High school boys were not always dependable and there was often a high rate of turnover. For that reason, the manager rotated his summer help so that everyone learned all or at least most of the jobs that needed doing. Then if someone became ill or had to be gone for another legitimate reason, almost any boy could fill in without a break in service.
Eric and Josh got to work side by side that day tending the flowerbeds. It was fun to be outside in the fresh air and not to have to be concerned about picking up towels after spoiled adults.
Dylan drew that duty and expressed a similar feeling of disgust over the slovenly habits of the "haves" when the boys got together a few minutes at quitting time.
"Corray, I'm negative!" Reese practically screamed into the phone. "I can't believe it! I have a second chance at a normal life and I'm not going to fuck it up this time. I'm gonna pick you up at 6:00 and take you out to dinner to celebrate."
"Maybe I have other plans," Corray answered petulantly.
"Like what, painting your fingernails?"
"I might be doing my toenails if I'm going to wear sandals tomorrow."
"Wear sneakers! What's wrong with you? You sound like you don't want to be seen with me."
"It's your reputation I'm worried about. What if your friends see you with an old Nelly queen? The hot guys will run for the hills. They'll scatter like roaches when the light's turned on! Besides, now that you're okay, you won't need me."
Reese laughed for a moment, and then got serious.
"I don't have many true friends. You're among the few. I really want to take you out tonight. Maybe we'll hit a club after dinner. If anyone thinks less of me because I'm with you, then I don't want anything to do with them. You're a kind person and a great friend."
"Well okay. Should I meet you somewhere?"
"No, I'll pick you up."
Blake was the next person to get the good news from Reese. He was moved to tears as he heard that his former lover was not facing an incurable disease after all. He hoped that Reese would stick to his vow of being careful, if not settling down completely. Reese was a handsome guy and a great lover, but he held no attraction for Blake anymore. After falling in love with Rob and coming to love his infant son, no one else in the world measured up.
Blake called Rob who sent text messages to Josh and Eric. Word of Reese's good news spread rapidly.
Reese took Corray out to a trendy little restaurant that was moderate in price, but high in quality. They spent a leisurely time over their meal visiting about various things as if they were old friends. Both of them enjoyed it.
After dinner, Reese suggesting going to a gay bar the he had frequented at times. Corray had never been to that particular place and agreed that it might be fun.
The club was pretty busy, but the guys were able to get seated at a small table near the dance floor. After ordering drinks, Reese pulled a reluctant Corray out to dance. Before long, Corray was having the time of his life.
As they went back to their table, Lance walked by and spoke to Corray.
"You'd better be careful, this guy has HIV. He tested positive," he said.
"He is POSITIVE-ly marvelous!" Corray gushed, "But he tested negative at my doctor's office – twice!"
"Is that true?" Lance said to Reese.
"Yeah, there was some screw-up at the health clinic. I haven't heard what it was, but the doctor is 99.9% sure that I don't have HIV."
"Wow, living with Mom is a bitch. When can I move back in?"
"When Ice Capades opens its new season in HELL." Reese said quietly, but firmly.
"Hey, you know I'm good in bed. You'll change your mind when you get horny. You'll never be happy with this fem."
"I'll never get horny enough to take you back. You left me when I was down. Corray picked up my sorry ass and got me to the doctor. He didn't know me very well, but turned out to be a true friend. Now get the fuck away from me before I forget I'm a gentleman and beat the shit out of you." Reese uttered through clenched teeth.
Lance left in a hurry, knowing that he'd pushed Reese too far. He was still convinced that they'd be back rooming together before the next week was out.
Corray and Reese were hit on by other studs in the place. The attention was psychologically good for both of them. A couple of guys left their phone numbers and email addresses.
At the end of the evening, Reese took Corray home. Corray tilted his head up for a goodnight kiss.
"You deserve more than a kiss," Reese said. "I owe you a lot."
"And you can't pay back a favor with your body, no matter how luscious it is. You know very well that you and I aren't cut out to be together. I love you as a new friend and I'm really flattered that you took me out on the town tonight, but that's all we can have."
"I was hoping that you'd agree to style my hair," Reese pouted.
"But I've done that and will continue to if you want," Corray responded.
"I was thinking about getting manscaped," Reese grinned. "I'd like to have my `nad shaved and my pubes trimmed – maybe in a design or something."
"Oh Gawd! I'd love to do that! Come over on Sunday night and I'll take it on. I'll bring home a couple of dye colors that we might try. That would be so cool. Could I take pictures, headless of course, for my website?"
"Yeah, that would be fine. I'll pay whatever you think it's worth."
"Believe me; just handling the merchandise will be payment enough! How will I ever sleep tonight?"
Reese got his below-the-waist styling on Sunday night along with benefits that neither had originally planned. Corray shaved his balls so that they were as smooth as a little boy's. Then he trimmed his thick bush to a length of about a centimeter. After that, he shaved areas bare to create a pattern like sergeants' stripes. He finished by giving the remaining hair a reddish tint. Reese stayed hard though the whole process, oozing precum from his ample phallus.
Corray did his best to remain "professional", but the sight and aroma of dripping precum made his mouth water.
"You're welcome to taste it if you want," Reese gasped with more than a hint of lust and desire in his voice.
"As long as you and I both know this is a one-time thing," Corray responded.
"Please lick my cock, man. You know you wanna."
Corray didn't answer. He stuck his tongue out and ran if across Reese's slit catching the sweet nectar that was forming there. Then he milked Reese's cock to get more of the sticky fluid. He rolled it around in his mouth savoring the taste.
"This stuff could become addictive!" Corray sighed. "But I promise that I want you to find a lover closer to your age. I'm really not right for you. I wish to hell that I were!"
Then the conversation ceased. The only sounds in the room were those of slurping on Corray's part and gasping and moaning on Reese's. With an act of determination, Corray managed to deep-throat Reese's entire cock to the newly styled pubes. Reese gave a shudder and unloaded a copious amount of cum. Corray pulled back just in time to receive it all in his mouth. He swallowed it slowly relishing each delicious drop.
Reese slept over with Corray again.
