Note from the author
This is the continuing story of Robert and Johnny, who first appeared in my short series: My 11th Summer. Although intended to be a simple stand alone short series, My 11th Summer was so popular, not only with my readers, but myself, that I decided to continue the saga in Tween to Teen. And now, as the boys finish High School and move on to College and their adult life, the final part of the saga begins. So, for those who have been following the stories these last 3 years, here is part 3 of the trilogy, which I am calling: Robert and Johnny-The rest of the story. Enjoy.

Chapter 13
Life Goes On
In the coming days and weeks, we saw a lot of Sid, but nothing like that first night. It wasn't that Tony was keeping him to himself, we just never seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
Often, Tony would come home long enough to change, and Sid would be with him, and then they'd be off to wherever and we wouldn't see Tony till the next morning, since he rarely made it home before we went to bed.
Occasionally, Sid would stay over, and he'd have breakfast with us, then he and Tony would head off to class or whatever they had planned that day.
Since Caleb was closer to Tony than Johnny or I, I asked him one morning if he thought they were getting serious, and his reply surprised me.
"I don't think so, at least not romantically. I really think it's just about the sex. They like each other, but I think it's more like a friend with benefits thing. The few times we've all three done stuff, it was like no big deal, just about getting his rocks off."
"With Tony it's hard to tell what he's thinking sometimes," I noted, "but Sid is so different than any guy I've ever met, and so different from the usual guys Tony gets with."
"Well, Sid is different all right. He's a little more feminine than I like, and sometimes I think Mother Nature might have messed up with him," he chuckled.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, have you ever heard of a sex change?"
"Yeah, but what does that have to...OH! You think Sid is like those people who want sex changes. That he thinks he's in the wrong body or something."
"Yeah, he's actually talked about it. That's why he's so upset about having such a big dick. He'd have been happier if it had been tiny."
"Doesn't keep him from using it?" Johnny chuckled.
"Well...of course everyone loves getting off. And since he has it, he might as well use it," Caleb laughed.
"Yeah, you don't think he'd really...you know, have that beautiful pecker cut off?" I said wincing.
"Nah, those operations are expensive, and you have to go to Sweden or somewhere to do it. But, he might dress like a girl sometimes," Caleb said grinning.
"Oh, why do you say that? Have you seen him do it?" I asked with interest.
"No, but it wouldn't surprise me if he does."
After that day, every time I saw Sid I couldn't help but picture him dressed like a girl, with long dark hair and eyeliner. I had to admit, he would have made a pretty good girl, but I liked him as a boy better, especially that big slab of meat between his legs.
Sid's fluid sexuality was just one more thing we could chalk up to the College experience, but it was only the beginning.
Days passed, and our lives revolved around school and our social life, though ours was far more subdued than many of our fellow students. Drugs were a big thing in the 70s, especially on Campus, but Johnny and I had decided a long time ago, that if we needed drugs to be happy, we'd rather be sad. Besides the occasional beer or alcohol infused drink, we kept away from anything that clouded our minds and our judgement.
I couldn't say the same for our fellow roommates however, and I knew for a fact that both Caleb and Tony occasionally smoked pot, though I doubted they'd ever tried anything stronger than that. LSD was the big thing, but we were all too smart to get involved in anything that mind- altering, especially after one of the Freshman jumped to his death from the bell tower of the chapel after taking some tainted LSD supplied by a friend. The story was that he thought he could fly, and fly he did, unfortunately he flew straight to the cement walkway below. They tried to get the bloodstains out of the cement, but finally wound up replacing that section of the walk. That fresh concrete was a constant reminder to the rest of us that life was short and fleeting, and taking chances with things like drugs were just not worth the risks.
Every other weekend Johnny and I would drive back to Pryor to visit, sometimes with Caleb and Tony, sometimes not, and each time I saw my little brother Mikey, I couldn't believe how much he'd grown.
He was at that stage I guess when kids start to grow, and though he still had his baby face, he was maturing otherwise and becoming a handsome young man. He was still my favorite person in the whole world, yes, even more so than Johnny, and I spent as much time with him as possible during our visits.
Of course, Johnny loved the little guy as much as I did, and spoiled him rotten, always bringing him something new each time we came to visit. It wasn't always something expensive though, sometimes it was just something small, but Mikey thanked him for each new thing as if it were a treasure, and gave those items prominence in his room.
One weekend we had an extra day for some holiday that was on Monday, and we decided to take Mikey to Tulsa to show him the big city and treat him to dinner and a movie at a big luxurious theater.
We even sprang for a motel room, and the three of us shared a king sized bed that night. Needless to say, Johnny and I had to forego our usual lovemaking, but we both agreed it was worth it to give Mikey this special treat.
That night we had dinner at Crystal's Pizza, which had a huge arcade as well, including a Carousel, and after we ate we let Mikey spend ten dollars in tokens on the games and such. He loved skee ball and was very good at it, and with his tickets he got some cheap plastic prizes that to him were like precious jewels.
Afterwards, we took Mikey to see a Disney picture at the Continental Theater, which was undoubtedly the finest theater in the city at that time. Since it was a single screen theater, it would later lose out to multiplex theaters and finally close in the 80s. It was eventually torn down and office buildings erected on the site, thus ending an era.
Mikey loved the movie, and wound up sitting on either mine or Johnny's lap while he watched it, munching on popcorn and Goobers and sipping his drink.
I'd feared he'd fall asleep during the movie, but even afterwards as we were leaving the theater, he was full of vinegar and piss and wanted to know what was next.
Since we decided he needed a little time to calm down, I had Johnny take us on a scenic tour of the city, up 11th Street to downtown, where Mikey went nuts when he saw the tall buildings there.
From there we drove to Riverside drive and along the park trails and Mikey begged to stop and look around. I finally convinced him that it was too dark and too late, but promised him we'd come back the next day.
From Riverside we cut across at 41st and drove up Peoria, better known as 'The Restless Ribbon', and stopped at Pennington's Drive-In for ice cream.
Home of the Black-Bottomed Pie and other favorites, Pennington's was famous throughout the state, and perhaps nationally, and a popular destination for over 30 years, until it's demise in the 80s. One other thing Pennington's was famous for was their ordermatic system, which was adopted in later years by other drive-ins including Sonic Drive-Ins, an Oklahoma based fast food restaurant.
By the time he'd finished his ice cream, Mikey was starting to droop, and we headed back to the hotel and some much needed sleep. Since we'd showered earlier, we undressed to our undies and hopped in bed. Mikey was used to seeing us in just our undies and made no comment as he settled down between us in bed.
He was just so adorable that we couldn't help but snuggle up to him on either side, and he was contented for us to do so. Soon he was softly snoring, but Johnny and I lay awake a while gazing at him, our thoughts pretty much the same, about what a special little guy my brother was, and how much we loved him.
The following morning Mikey was up by eight o'clock, which was actually a good thing, since we had to check out by 11 and had a busy day ahead of us. For what we hadn't told Mikey was, that we were going to take him to Bell's Amusement Park that afternoon.
After showering, Johnny and I together, and Mikey alone, we dressed and checked out, then headed to Riverside Drive to let Mikey explore the park there.
It was a beautiful day with temps in the 60s, hardly any wind, and lots of sunshine, and the River Park was packed with pedestrians and cyclists enjoying the weather and getting some exercise.
We let Mikey lead the way, and after exploring the water front pier he led us to the playground area and climbed up in the little loft there and came down the slide. He was an independent little guy now when it came to such things, and bold and daring when it came to new things.
He delighted and surprised us by hanging from his arms and going all the way across the jungle gym, some 6 or 8 feet before dropping to the ground. He was wiry and strong and afraid of nothing at that age, and a ball of energy ready to be unleashed on the world.
I suggested we drive to the other side of the river and Johnny smiled when he realized what was there, the Old Wild West Playground. Built by Tulsa Theater Company, it was the store fronts of an old wild west town, kid-sized, including a roof you could walk on with a ladder leading up there. In addition to the town there was a full sized stage coach, and the whole area was covered in sand to make for safe landings.
Mikey's eyes grew huge when he caught sight of the town and he took off running forcing us to follow at a hurried clip. He was up the ladder and on top of the structure even as we entered the area, which was fenced in with a short wooden rail fence.
"Wow, this is so neat," he said, "come on up guys, it's safe," he said grinning.
Johnny and I were laughing as we joined him, feeling like little kids once again. I remembered coming here with Uncle Joe when we were just kids ourselves and how much fun we'd had, and now Mikey was having that same experience. It was enough to make a guy cry.
Finally noticing the fireman's pole at the side of the ladder, Mikey gave me and Johnny a devilish look, then he grabbed onto it and he was down in seconds. He hit the ground running and headed to the stagecoach then and climbed into the driver's seat and pretended to be driving a team of horses, as he yelled out, "giddy up hawses."
Johnny and I had to try the pole, but being as tall as we were, we didn't have far to slide. We joined Mikey at the stagecoach, waving him down and climbing inside to be his passengers.
While out of his eyesight, we took full advantage of the situation and did some cuddling and smooching, but nothing serious. Anything more would have to wait till tonight, back at my house in Pryor.
We finally pried Mikey away from the playground by telling him we had one more surprise for him, but even then he kept talking about how neat the Old Wild West Playground had been. And of course the inevitable, "Are we there yet?" was uttered many times along the way.
As we neared Bell's, the first things visible was Zingo, the huge wooden roller coaster and Mikey went crazy when he saw it. Johnny and I both laughed at his excitement, and when Johnny pulled into the parking lot, Mikey let out a whoop and reached up to hug my neck.
We paid for unlimited ride passes, and though Mikey was too small for some of the rides, including Zingo, there were plenty of other rides he did enjoy. One of those was the ski lift, which all three of us rode together, as it went from one side of the amusement park to the other, our legs dangling high above the crowd.
In fact, Mikey loved the ski lift so much we didn't even bother getting off when when we'd made the loop. The operator just looked at our wrist bands and waved us on, and we rode it two more times after that.
We dined on hot dogs, cotton candy, and popcorn, then rode the bumper cars, Mikey and me against, Johnny. Next, we rode the gas-powered cars, which were modified go-carts with plastic shells, and this time we each drove our own car. There was no way the car could go off the track since it was guided by a rail, but amazingly Mikey kept his car right down the center, earning him our praise when the ride was over. With Johnny's car in front of Mikey's and mine behind, we knew he was in no real danger, and he had the time of his life.
We stopped at the arcade and played some games there too, then played a round of miniature golf, which Mikey proved to be very good at. Although Johnny won the game, he didn't beat me or Mikey by much.
It was an amazing day, and I can definitely say that Johnny and I enjoyed ourselves almost as much as Mikey. None of us wanted to leave, but we still had an hour's drive home, and reluctantly around five o'clock we headed out the gate and into the Bug Bus.
We arrived home in time for supper, mom's meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy, hot rolls and corn on the cob, but after all the junk food we'd eaten earlier none of us had that much of an appetite. Which is not to say we didn't eat our share, after all, this was mom's meatloaf, which was the best in the world as far as we were concerned.
Mikey chattered all during supper, filling mom and dad in on what a good time he'd had, and begged them to take him back to Tulsa soon. My dad had that smile on his face that he always gets when he's listening to Mikey, and without too much pressure he agreed to take Mikey back soon. He suggested they take his cousin Joe Junior as well, who was just a bout a year older than Mikey. Since we'd gone off to college, my uncle Joe had added two more kids to his brood, two girls, but they weren't done yet.
Mikey crashed right after his bath, and Johnny and I tucked him in and patted him till he was sawing logs, then we went in to visit with my folks. My mom and dad kept thanking us over and over for taking Mikey, but I assured them that we'd had just as much fun as he had.
Johnny and I finally said goodnight when the ten o'clock news came on, and after giving mom and dad a hug, we went off to my bedroom. The ideal situation would have been for us to have made mad passionate love after being denied intimacy for a whole day, but in reality we fell asleep while making out. However, we did wake early the next morning, and what we did then more than made up for our imposed abstinence the last two days.
End Chapter 13
Just a short chapter to keep the story going. A little glimpse into the boys' lives and into that wonderful period of time that they grew up in.
