When you think about a larger picture, we are truly an amalgamation of man. We are everywhere all the time. We are all races, religions, colors, and professions. If there was ever a chosen people, it is gay men and lesbian woman. We cross all boundaries man creates to keep us separated. That is what scares them most of all. That's what we need to be celebrating, not the fact we can find dresses to fit us so we can look silly.
We have the most powerful tool and weapon known to man, love, and by God, we aren't afraid to use it.

Robby, Gardener Of Desire
A Martin M. Story By: Rick Beck
I went to the Holiday Spa on Central Avenue in Landover to work out three or four days a week. That's not to say that I didn't spend an equal amount of time with my eyes on the guys. It was a great place to meet the men of my dreams. Some of them did end up in my dreams not in my bed. Oh, I did meet a number of guys that wanted your admiration to extend over to satisfying primal urges that came over them when the moon was in the right phase, causing them to seek immediate attention. Satisfying their primal urges, isn't the stuff dreams are made of, but it was as close as you got with the muscle crowd.
All that changed one Thursday evening when I went up to the spa early before the usual bodies showed up. I was in the mood for a sweat and a shower, which meant I might and I might not work out. When I walked through the weight room on the way to the locker room, I was surprised that it was empty that time of day. There was certainly no indication that my early arrival would be a life altering experience but it was about to become just that.
The first time I saw Robby he was puking on his size twelve's. That is he was puking on the feet that went into his size twelve's. I came through the swinging doors just in time to witness him blowing chunks on his feet. Now you might think that this is no way to meet someone, and normally I'd be in complete agreement, but I haven't described Robby to you yet.
Robby was strikingly handsome even when he was sick as a dog. The first thing I noticed about him, after getting past the deposit he was making, was his long, lean, tanned body. I guess that was enough to draw me to him, but it was more than that. Don't ask me to explain or to understand exactly what it was, but when I saw Robby sitting there, looking helpless, I knew it went beyond good looks and lean bodies; the gym abound in those.
As I pushed through the doors and walked toward him I saw his perfectly styled hair was the color of early autumn wheat. I watched his head hanging with difficulty down between his knees as another spasm shook through him. His face became ashen but the fading color couldn't hide the quality and radiance of his skin. Even puking on his feet, Robby looked better than most guys will ever look.
I dropped my gym bad next to him on the bench before going to the pile of towels in the corner of the supply room. You know the ones you look for when you get home from the spa but never see again. I picked out the cleanest ones, heading back to render to him my assistance.
There was only one thing I could think of doing and that was to try to help him. I thought the best way to help him was to clean up the mess and him, since my medical skills were somewhat lacking. I figured it would run its course in a few minutes. There was no doubt I was looking for a way to meet this guy, but I did what I did because he needed someone's help.
I was never comfortable approaching someone I didn't know but in this case it seemed simple enough. He'd be grateful for my help, and thank me, and we'd become friends. It was a plan. I grabbed several towels, kneeling before him to mop up the puddle that was directly between and on his feet.
Immediately he heaved with nothing coming up, coughing as a spasm ran through him. His arms were planted one on each leg with his elbows dug deep into his thighs as his hands and fingers dangled down from his knees as his head hung between them and I could see the tan on the back of his neck. As I finished getting the mess mostly into the first towel his head raised up in one long and slow movement until his deep blue eyes opened to peer into mine. His mouth opened and his sensual lips tried to form a word but he was too sick and too weak to speak. His head flopped back down as spit ran onto his chin and hung in air until it landed on the inside of his thigh as he coughed again.
As his face fell back down between his knees, my eyes dropped down before he could block the view up between his legs. It wasn't really a planned response but one of those habits you practice even in the worst of situations. In this case the view became a heart stopping experience. Robby again refused to disappoint me. He was cut with a bulbous head accenting the end of six inches of flaccid manhood. Size certainly isn't everything, and Robby would have been walking dynamite with half of what he had, but who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth, horse being the key word in this sentence.
I used another towel to clean up the remainder of the mess while trying to forget about what I'd seen, and then I took another one to the sinks and wet it completely with cool water. He moaned gently as the cool moisture touched his furnace like skin. I sat beside him and used the dripping towel on his neck and shoulders. As he lifted his head to look at his servant I used the loose end of the towel to wipe his face and chin clean. His head lolled back as he sat up. His eyes remained closed as I felt like a mother wiping her little boy's face after he ate an ice cream cone. There was no resistance or protest to my touching him and he leaned his back on the lockers behind him.
My heart skipped several beats as I admired his long well shaped muscles. His nipples were about the size of quarters and colored a light tan that leaned toward pink. The color was marvelous against his light tan chest. His shoulders were wide and he was over six foot tall.
After finishing his face, I ran the wet towel over his chest, onto his stomach, down to the inside of his thighs, mopping and wiping as I went. He gasped slightly when my hand brushed against a vital area. I gasped a little and couldn't stop myself from checking the package for a good look. The same tan that his nipples contained were one of three different colors of tan and brown that accented his well cut presentation. My hand brushed it as I continued to rub down his skin with the damp cloth.
I spent as much time as I could cleaning the inside of one thigh and then the other. After a few minutes I decided I better not press my luck. I kneeled in front of him wiping the mess from each foot. He lifted them for me as I worked. He continued to lean motionless against the lockers.
"Thanks," a weak voice whispered.
"It's okay. Glad to help. How are you feeling?"
"Terrible. Better. A little."
His eyes opened and closed a couple of times, but his body didn't move otherwise. I found myself running the towel up over his lover legs one at a time, and then I couldn't resist leaning forward between his knees to do his thighs one more time. His eyes opened as he felt me between his legs. I didn't let him make eye contact as I carefully ran the towel up the entire length of the inside of his smooth right thigh, moping up imaginary drops.
Much to my surprise, his legs spread wide open to accommodate me as my hand finished the trip up to his crotch. His eyes opened suddenly when my fingers reached the end of the line, but he closed them without stopping me. More and more of my hand touched his skin as the towel slid off his thigh and on to the floor and my palm was left to feel his bare skin without obstruction for the first time. I didn't move my hand from the inside of his thigh for a minute, and as I reached across his body for a cleaner towel, his legs closed in reflex, trapping my hand on him as his eyes opened to reexamine what we were doing. He saw me retrieving the towel and seemed to be feeling a bit better. His legs spread open again as I leaned back across him. This freed my hand and I let it slid down his thigh several inches before putting the towel in it.
It thrilled me to move my hand up and down on his thigh, even with the towel back in it. It thrilled me that he watched me doing it without trepidation and let my fingers brush it each time I got to the top his eyes closed, and I left my fingers rest against him while watching his face for any kind of adverse reaction. His stomach pitched slightly with each contact but he left his legs open, seeming to invite me to continue worshipping him. After a few more minutes his eyes opened and he just looked into me for the longest time. I switched legs leaning across him to do the other one as completely as I'd done the near leg. He lifted his arm and leaned it across my back.
Robby and I became the only two people in my world at that moment. His eyes watched my eyes when I looked up at him, and he took my breath away. I collected another towel from the bench and ran it over his chest and stomach as he tried to follow my hand.
"Feeling better?" I asked, feeling I had to break our trance.
"Yeah, that was nice. The water was nice, it cooled me off some. I thought I might pass out there for a minute. Thanks. My name is Robby."
"I'm Rick. Want me to wet another towel wet? I don't mind," I said. "I just came up for a shower and a steam."
I felt guilty about what I'd done. I mean helping someone was cool, but it went a lot further and it became about touching him and not about helping him after the first few minutes. It was awkward now. He hadn't protested but he had to wonder about my hands exploring places they shouldn't have touched. I wanted to find a way to keep our conversation going, but he wasn't really in a talkative mood and I was shook up from feeling him up and then having to stop.
"I think if you can help me to the shower," I might be okay. "I'll stand under the cold water for awhile. That should help," he said, with his head still immobilized against the locker and his legs still spread apart.
"I'll get out of my clothes. I was going to shower too," I said.
I took the locker next to his and stripped down as quick as I could. He didn't look or pay any attention to what I was doing. His head stayed against the locker with his eyes shut. I noticed he had no hair on his arms, chest, or legs to speak of. Except for the patch that accented his manhood, his body was smooth.
"You ready?" I asked.
"Yeah. Let me lean on you. I feel so weak. I just need a little help and I'll be okay," he said.
Two guys came in and hardly noticed me helping Robby to his feet. We'd been alone in the locker room for ten minutes or more. I was surprised at how tall he was. He put his arm over my shoulder and I put one arm around his waist and I was suddenly feeling faint. His skin slid against mine as we walked toward the showers. It was all I could do not to get turned on by how his body moved touched mine.
"Thanks again," Robby said, as I helped him into the stall.
I felt deserted after I had to claim a shower stall for myself. My mind raced to different ways of getting his phone number. I hadn't been really interested in anyone in some time. I'd been deeply, crazily, madly in love with David, but once he left me, I didn't want to go through that again. Loving was marvelous but giving it up was hell. I'd been lingering for several years but my world had been rocked back on its heals by a guy that hadn't said two dozen words to me.
For some reason, Robby hit me right between the eyes from the minute I saw him. There was no explanation for it, but it didn't really matter.
I waited for him to leave the shower and I slipped in beside him. He looked at me and smiled and seemed a little bit stronger. He moved his hand across my left arm to shake my hand. I let my baby blues look in his as we shook.
"I wasn't doing too well," he said, "I didn't catch your name."
"Rick," I said.
"I'm Robby. Not many guys would do what you did. I appreciate the help. I might not have made it without you."
"I was glad to help. I hope someone would help me if I was in that situation," I said.
I dressed as fast as I could while Robby took his time to dry off. He wore a tan dress shirt that played well against his complexion. Holding it for him, he gracefully slipped his arms into the holes. I regretted losing sight of his flesh, but he wasn't wearing underwear and he hadn't put his pants on. I sat on the bench beside him as he tied his tie of many shades of brown. He stood with his knees pressing into the bench while he tied it facing his opened locker. My eyes kept straying to where he hung down below the tailored shirttail. He only caught me at it once but made no effort to inhibit my unobstructed view. He turned his back as he pulled on his dark brown trousers. His ass was well rounded and fit his body as if it were tailored for it like his clothes. He dressed precisely and carefully, rolling his socks onto his feet, smoothing the silk against his skin.
When he took his jacket from the locker, I immediately took it from him and held it out for him which allowed him to slide it on without effort. I left no doubt that I was his servant, and once more our eyes came together as he turned to than me yet again. We went to the sinks together to comb our hair and touch up for our exit. I wanted to be with him as long as it would last.
Standing there beside him, my heart pounded out my feelings. Robby was all class. He studied the perfect image that stared back at him out of the mirror as he straightened his tie. After combing his hair he put one hand up to steady several unruly hairs, but he barely touched them before they jumped into place, not having the courage to dare distract from his loveliness. He turned to one side pulling at the bottom of his jacket for one last inspection. My jeans and T-shirt didn't require much attention, and that was a good thing, because he had all of it.
As we stood there with mirrors revealing everything he looked at me several times. Not a glance to see if I was watching him, because he knew by this time I was constantly watching him. These were eye to eye studying looks that revealed the depth of his thoughts concerning my assistance. I could see his curiosity and the confusion it evoked in him. He had added two and two together by now and he didn't know what to make of me. Hell, I didn't know what to make of me. I'd never met anyone that had captivated me so swiftly and in such a strange way. It was like some spell had been cast upon me and it couldn't be broken until we were separated, only I knew even after we parted, I'd still be thinking of him.
"How are you doing, Rob?" I asked, knowing time was closing in on our relationship.
"Still a bit queasy but it seems to be getting better. I feel so damn weak," he said, holding the corner of the sink to emphasis the statement.
"I'll stick with you until you get to your car. Where do you live?"
"Montgomery County. I was over by Rockville near the Beltway working at the family furniture store, when I decided to come here to work out. I had a late lunch and I knew better than to work out, but I've been so busy opening a new store I manage, I just needed a good workout and this was the time I had to fit it in. I've never been that sick before."
"Why don't we stop for a ginger ale downstairs," I said.
"Man, I'm afraid to put anything on my stomach. I can't afford to get like that again," he said. "I would never make it home."
"Trust me. Ginger ale will settle your stomach. It will make it feel a lot better. Something about the fizz in it that calms the stomach. I'll buy," I said, closing all the loopholes.
"Okay. I need a little more time before I want to get out on the highway."
The bar was dark, and we stood at a table in the furthest corner. I went to the bar to get two ginger ale, and the bartender examined me to see if he should card me. He decided it wasn't necessary. Rob leaned on the wall and rolled the flass on his forehead.
"It will help your stomach if you drink it," I said.
"I'm so damn hot. Is it hot in here or is it me?"
"Give me your coat," I said, after bringing back a glass of ice cubes.
I looped his coat over my arm and dumped two cubes into my hand. I placed them on the back of his neck and he rolled his head forward allowing me to move the cubes all over his neck.
"That's great. I'm a mess."
"Drink some of your ginger ale," I said. "It will help cool you off and settle your stomach. Loosen your tie and unbutton your collar so I can cool you off more."
Robby did as I said and I left my hand on his neck until the cubes were gone. I replaced them with two more and let them glide below his collar so my fingers were feeling the skin on his shoulders as he opened several buttons on his shirt and pulled the tie off.
When he wasn't drinking, he was leaning forward so I could use my cubes on him.
"I've never met anyone like you," Robby said. "I mean you have been so good to me. I could have passed out in the middle of the gym and guys would have just stepped over me before they'd offer me any help. You seem to care about me."
"You seem like a nice guy. I couldn't leave you on your own. You were in pretty bad shape," I said, realizing the cubes were melted. "Lean forward a little more.
"That feels so good. Thanks for helping me. I mean really, thanks a lot," he said as my hand caresed his back lower and lower.
As more and more people started coming in, I removed my hand from his shirt. He didn't bother to button it up, and the tie was in the middle of the table. The back of our hands touched as we held our glasses. He looked at where we made contact and when he looked for my eyes they were looking right back at him.
"I'm engaged," he said, not moving his hand.
"What?" I said, knowing exactly what he said.
"Nothing. I don't know. I guess I'm still a bit queasy. Let's go," he said, looking at our hands before taking his coat from me.
I walked as slow as I could and he walked beside me, slower than he could. He put on his coat without my help and people roamed around the second floor entrance to Holiday Spa as we hit the front doors. The cool night air hit us as we went through the second set of doors. I walked him to his car and we had nothing else to say. I would have asked for his number, but I'm engaged kinda soured that idea. He knew I was putting the make on him and it was time to draw a line between what I wanted and what he was willing to give up.
We shook hands beside his car when he said, "This is mine."
It was a sharp looking little red sports car, what else. It was perfect for him. He didn't let go of my hand after the shake. Our eyes searched for some meaning in it all. His palm was sweaty and warm and I didn't want to let him get away. Then, he separated us with words I'd heard before.
"I'm engaged," he said, still holding my hand. "I'm engaged to such a wonderful woman."
His words cut me and seemed final. Whatever it was that had flowed between us, it had run its course. He knew he had to leave me as soon as he could. His mind was made up.
"You said that," I said, filling the empty night air with words.
"I've got to go," Robby said, opening the door and sliding in.
"Look, thank you. I mean that. I really appreciate you helping me," he said, starting the car before closing his door to make his getaway.
I watched him through the glass. I heard him shift it into gear and the car started to roll forward. He glanced back over his shoulder at me yet again as the car failed to pick up any speed, suddenly stopping in a jerk with the window coming down as he leaned over to his glove compartment. He handed me a matchbook and a pencil.
"Write down your number. I want to take you to dinner as a thank you for helping me," he said, looking up at my eyes. "Kindness should be repaid."
Our fingers and hands mingled together when I took the matchbook from him. He watched my hand carefully write my first name and phone number. When I handed it back, we were holding hands as soon as the matchbook went from my hand to his hand. He was unable to let go, and his eyes fixed in mine as he tried to understand what was happening. I could see the exact instant he discovered he was no longer taking the matchbook. He didn't withdrawal it and there was nothing left to say. I searched for something but I realized he was desperately trying to figure out what he was feeling and why. I could see the confusion as easily as I could see the depth of his stunning blue eyes.
I couldn't explain to him what he was feeling but I suspected I knew. He'd need to figure it out for himself, and until he did, I would wait by the phone to see if he could bring himself to call a man that had literally touched his heart. I had done everything but make love to him. I knew he'd look at the phone each day, wondering if he had the courage to call the man that rocked his world for a couple of hours one afternoon. Did he want to know or was he content to let his life go along as it had before.
He held my future in his hands.
