Yeah, I know.... twice in one week. Well, I just did some kick ass writing in my book, so I thought I'd just post this little itty bitty chapter just to hold you over to the next one. I'm not even gonna make it a whole one, make this be 37 1/2. It's only like what.... four pages I think. So, just cause I thought that this was good, I'm postin it. So, on with the show..... well, commercial if you will.

"OW! You DO know that I'm still attached to that thing, right?!" I said rubbing my arm.

"Shut up, I didn't pull you that hard!" JC said laughing.

"Anyways, let's just get to Lance!"

We entered Lance's room and saw him lying on his bed with his eyes closed. As we entered further into the otherwise empty room, he opened his eyes and turned his head towards the door. A huge smile grew on all of our faces and I ran over to the bed and knelt beside him.

"Hi." He said as I took his hand and kissed it.

"Hi? Is that all you can say?" I said in mock hurt, "Just kidding! How are you feeling?"

"Um... my stomach feels like it's bein crumbled like a piece of paper, my head is pounding, and I'm a little dizzy, but other than that, I'm just fine!"

"Sorry."

"Don't worry about it."

"I'm gonna go tell the others you're ok!" JC said about to exit the room.

"Oh, Josh! I didn't even see you standing there. Wait, before you go out there, come here." JC made his way over to the bed. "How did the show go?"

"Lance, let's not even talk about that."

"What happened?"

"Lance.."

"Josh, tell me."

"Well. we sucked, the fans were disappointed and worried, management was having a fit, and we were an emotional wreck!"

"All in all, a good show huh?" Lance said attempting to laugh, but causing some pain.

"Yeah.."

"Try not to move babe." I said.

"I'm gonna go update everybody. I'll be back."

"Josh..." Lance said.

"Yeah?"

"Thank you!" He said grabbing his hand and kissing it.

JC's eyes got a little watery, he bent over, hugged Lance and said,

"Don't you EVER scare us like that again!"

"Yes sir!" Lance replied patting JC on the back.

As JC exited the room, tears were now streaming down his cheeks. I watched as he turned the corner and went back to the waiting room. When I brought my attention back to Lance, he had tears flowing down his face too.

"I swear, I was scared that I wasn't going to make it!"

"What are you talking about?" I said.

"I dunno, I was just so scared!"

"Baby, listen to me. Even if you are sick and in the hospital, you aren't going to die!"

"I know. It's just that.... the last time I was in a hospital was..."

"Was when?"

"Lance! Thank god!" Justin said storming into the room.

"H..hey Just!" Lance said wiping his eyes, trying to hide all trace of his tears.

"Oh my god, we were so worried about you! I almost lost it on stage!" Justin said hugging Lance.

"It's ok Curly, I'm still here!"

"Don't ever scare me like that again!"

"I won't.. Um... Justin?"

"Yeah?"

"You're kinda hurting me!"

"OH... oh my god! I'm. I'm so sorry!" Justin said letting go of Lance.

"It's ok.." Lance groaned as I sat there laughing.

"I'm just... I'm.. sorry.."

"It's ok Just."

"How are you feeling?"

"Like shit!"

"Smells like it too!" Chris said entering the room.

"No, I believe that stench is coming from you!" Joey said behind him.

"Hey guys!" Lance said as they entered.

"Hey yourself! How you hanging in there?" Chris asked.

"Eh... I'll live."

"You had us worried for a minute!" Joey said.

"Yeah, we need our albino!" Chris said causing Lance to chuckle.

"Ow!" Lance said grabbing his stomach.

"You ok?" We all asked.

"Yeah, just a little pain."

"My parents are on the way, and so is Lynn and Paul." Joey said.

"So are yours." I said.

"Whose?" Lance asked.

"Your parents are flying down."

"What? Why? Who told them?"

"I did."

"Why are they coming down?"

"Because you're in the hospital?!" Justin said.

"But they don't need to fly all the way down here!"

"Just calm down and accept it! They're on their way. There's nothing you can do now. And besides, you don't want to see them?" I said.

"No, it's not that."

"Then?"

"I... I just... I wanted them to meet you under better circumstances! After what happened with my mom, I wanted you meeting my dad and Stacy to be special!"

"I think this is our cue to leave these two alone." Joey said.

"Yup, I think Joey's right." Chris agreed, "Come on Justin, we'll come back in a little while."

"Yeah, I'll be right there." Justin said.

"Guys, don't go." Lance said.

"We gotta let you two discuss this, we'd just get in the way."

"It's ok, really." I said.

"No, we'll be back. I'll see you in a little while."

"Ok, well, just tell the others to come in when they're ready." Lance said.

As they left, Lance said,

"It worked, they're gone!"

"Huh?" I asked confusedly.

"Come here and kiss me!"

"Not until you tell me about the last time you were in the hospital."

"Not the last time I was in the hospital, the last time I was in a hospital period."

"Was when?"

"Well, we were doing this charity event thing in Europe where we visited kids that had Cancer, or AIDS, and stuff like that."

"Yeah."

"And there was this one girl who I was visiting in her room, she specifically asked for me. So, I went in there and she was so happy to see me. While I was visiting with her, she started to get a coughing attack, I called a nurse in and she said that she'd be ok, and that it was nothing to worry about. When she left, Karen, that was the girl's name, just got worse. She started to grab her chest and was heaving in and out. I panicked and called the nurse again, and right before the nurse came in, Karen's heart monitor flat lined. They got me out of there, but I watched through the window in the door. They tried to resuscitate her, but they couldn't. She died right there."

"Oh my god." I said with my hand up against my chest.

"I was just thinking about that, and what if it happened to me." He said the tears returning to his eyes.

"Lance, baby... it's ok. It wasn't your fault, and it's not going to happen to you!" I said standing up to hug him.

I gave him a small kiss and it calmed him down. He wrapped his arms around me and said,

"I'm so sorry I scared you like that!"

"Shhh... it's ok, it's not your fault."

"No, you were right, I should've seen another doctor! None of this would've happened if I hadn't been so stubborn and just listened to you!"

"Don't worry about it sweetie, what's done is done. I'm just glad that you're ok."

"I love you!"

"I love you too! Now try and get some rest babe. I'm gonna go and find out if you're going to be able to go home tonight."

"Ok."

"Try and get some sleep."

"Ok."

I started for the door and felt some tears well up in my eyes. Once outside of the room, I closed the door, leaned up against the wall and started to cry. I put my hands up over my eyes and slid down the wall and was now sitting on the floor. I must have been there for five minutes when I heard someone say,

"Rob? What's wrong?"

I looked up and through my watery eyes, I saw Josh standing there with a concerned look on his face. He placed his hands on my arms and helped me stand up.

"What's wrong? Did anything happen to Lance?"

"N.. No.. H.. He's fine." I said.

"Then what's wrong?"

"I.. I was just SO scared that I was going to lose him!"

Josh was speechless, he didn't know what to do, so he did the first thing that came to mine. He grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me into a hug. I cried on his shoulder and he just stood there trying to console me.

"Shhh... it's ok... He's fine now. That's all that matters!" He said rubbing and patting my back.

"Yeah... you're right." I said standing up now, releasing from the embrace. "I need to relax and just try and think about something else."

"Yeah, just try and calm down. Everything's going to be ok!"

"They're keeping him overnight right?"

"Yeah. They wanna see how he reacts to the new medication."

"Ok, then, I better get a comfy spot in his room and in the waiting room."

"Not now... right now, you need to get your mind off of things. Come on, let's go to the cafeteria and get some coffee or something."

"K, let's just tell the others that we're goin, just in case they need us."

"Good idea."

After telling everybody that we were going to the cafeteria, we went upstairs. Once we got a couple of cups of coffee and a few donuts, we got a table and sat down.

"Oh, I've been working on a track for that break up song we wrote." I said taking a sip of my coffee.

"Word? When did you have time to do that?"

"Well, while you guys are still on stage, I have my laptop hooked up to one of the keyboards that I asked to bring along with me. When I waited for you guys back stage, I worked on it. Well, between that and chillen with my dancers and singers."

"You gotta play it for me."

"I will. Once all this blows over."

"Have you come up with the hook yet?"

"Yeah. It sounded a little corny at first, but I put some words that I wrote after my whole ordeal with Ex-Bitch. Stuff that I wish I'd said or done. I came up with a title for it too."

"What is it?"

"Well, at first I was thinking, `Ain't no lie', but then I was like, Nah. So, after a couple of hours, I came up with the new name."

"Which is."

"Bye, bye, bye."

"Ok.."

"Trust me, it goes good with it. Once you see the words I've added."

"What are they?"

"Well, you know how we were stuck on what to do after the point two?"

[NOTE: The point two of a song is what comes between the verse and the hook, for example, in... Tearin up my heart, the point two is "Let it go, if you want me girl let me know, I am down, on my knees, I can't take it anymore", it's the repeating line that connects the verse to the hook. Now that you've learned somethin, on with your regularly scheduled reading.}

"Yeah, we needed to come up with the hook."

"Yeah, so I was thinking, what is the song about? It's about saying goodbye to your current girlfriend and basically sayin, `Bitch, get the fuck out of my life and don't you ever come back!' So, I came up with the hook."

"Ok! Can you just sing it, so I know how it goes?!" Josh said laughing.

"Ok, ok, ok.. Calm down man! It goes like this, well, I'm gonna start from the point two. So here it goes:

I know that I can't take no more, it ain't no lie. I wanna see you out that door, baby bye

bye bye. Don't wanna be a fool for you, just another player in your game for two. You may hate me but it ain't no lie, baby bye bye bye. Don't really wanna make it tough. I just wanna tell you that I've had enough. Might sound crazy, but it ain't no lie, baby bye bye bye. So, whatta yah think?"

"That is hot! You know you gotta produce it now, when we go and record it, right?"

"Oh, of course! You just clear it wit your boys, and I'll clear it wit mine!"

"I'll have my people call your people!"

We both started to laugh, when Justin came in and interrupted us.

"Hey Curly, what's up?" JC asked.

"Jim, Diane and Stacy are here." Justin said.

"When'd they get here?"

"Just like two seconds ago. I came to get you, cause. well.. you know.."

"Yeah, thanks. We'll be right down, let me just finish my coffee." I said.

"Ok, I'll tell them you're on your way."

"Thanks Jus!"

"No prob Rob!"

"Dumb ass!"

"So, you ready to meet them?" JC asked once Justin was out of sight.

"As ready as I'll ever be."

"Well, at least you've already met Diane."

"Yeah, but it's Jim that I'm worried about. Stacy I know she'll like me, Lance told me already that she really wants to meet me."

"What about Jim?"

"Well, he wants to meet me too, but considering I'm his son's FIRST boyfriend, and Lance IS his only son.."

"Yeah... I see where you're coming from."

"So, I'm a little nervous, but.. I gotta go and do it."

"Don't worry, I'll be safely 10 feet behind you."

"Oh, gee thanks!"

"You know I'm jus fuckin wit yah! Of course I'll be there.. I'll just make sure I move before I get caught in the crossfire!"

"Oh, that's it! I'm SO gonna kick your ass now!"

JC got up from the table and ran for the elevator. I chased him and when I got to the doors, I punched him a few times in his arm. We were laughing the whole way down to Lance's room. Once we were outside, I calmed myself down and said,

"Ok, before we go in there, I just wanna say this."

"What?"

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For helping me deal. I'd probably be crying a river somewhere drowning in my fear and sorrows if it hadn't been for you."

"Hey, that would make a good line in a song!"

"You can have it."

"Thanks!" He said pulling out a tape recorder he had in his pocket and saying the line into it.

"Ok, that was... weird."

"Ask me to explain later. You've got a family to meet!"
